Nobody 2 is the sequel to the 2021 action-packed blockbuster film starring Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd and Colin Hanks. amongst others The soundtrack for the film was composed by Emmy-nominated filmcomposer Dominic Lewis (Bullet Train, The King's Man, Karate Kid: Legends) and features two cover songs. The first one is a cover by José James of the classic 1962 song "The Good Life". The song was originally sung in French by Sacha Distel, but became more popular when released in English by Tony Bennett. The other cover is performed by American rock musician Des Rocs of "Ring of Fire", written by June Carter and Merle Kilgore and popularized by Johnny Cash. Nobody 2 is available as a limited edition on turquoise coloured vinyl and includes an insert.

Trailblazing outlet for forward-thinking Danish Jazz, April Records proudly presents the debut from trumpeter/composer Rolf Thofte; a vivid and personal record that blends lyrical melodies, inventive rhythms, and subtle harmonic exploration. Written while Thofte adjusted to fatherhood - the album captures moments of joy, reflection, and experimentation, brought to life by a handpicked quintet of Denmark"s most exciting young jazz talents. Martha"s Dance is set for release on September 19th, 2025 via April Records. The title track is a tribute to Thofte"s three-year-old daughter - a playful, clapping, goat-hoof-stomping tune in quirky 5/4 that channels the spirit of childhood joy and spontaneity. "It"s just a fun tune to play, and I feel like it really captures Martha"s spirit," says Thofte. "This band came together at a time when I was trying to get a foothold in a new life situation as a father, so it felt perfect to make this the title track." The album moves between moods and textures with elegance: from the rich harmonic language of "Vice Versa" - inspired by Wayne Shorter"s ability to cast simple melodies in shifting harmonic light - to the understated power of "Changing Tides," a piece about imperceptible gradual changes in our lives, nature, and politics. 'There was just so much happening and so much to process,' erklärt sie. 'I was going through a big break up with my partner who I’d been with for eight years; Colm had left the band; we’d really progressed into being professional musicians, and I was at the start of a new relationship. But then you’d look outside and it’s like the world has never been uglier. I was writing every day because there was so much going on.' South London singer, songwriter and cultural powerhouse Joy Crookes has today unveiled the news that her worth-the-wait second album Juniper will be released on September 26th ahead of a full UK & EU headline tour.

A stunningly candid and fearless body of work, the album reaffirms Joy as one of the UK’s most vital and original voices. A once-in-a-generation talent, Crookes delivers a record that is both emotionally raw and sonically rich; humorous, heartbreaking and profoundly human.

Following the success of her 2021 debut Skin, which earned BRIT and Mercury Prize nominations, went Top 5 in the UK charts, and drew acclaim from The Guardian, NME and many more, Joy set out to make an album that pushed her further both musically and personally.

Juniper is the result: a project defined by its depth and dynamism.

Written with a stripped-back approach and produced by long-time collaborators including Blue May (Kano, Jorja Smith), Tev’n (Stormzy) and Harvey Grant (Arlo Parks),

Juniper features standout guest appearances from Vince Staples on the incendiary ‘Pass The Salt’ and Kano on the bittersweet confessional ‘Mathematics’.

Crookes describes the record as “more nuanced” than Skin: “With Juniper, every situation is visceral and I’m very much in it. It’s me in the centre of it all.”

The title itself nods to resilience (an evergreen that thrives in harsh conditions) and the album dives deep into themes of body politics, mental health, queer love, anxiety, industry hypocrisy and the ecstasy (and terror) of falling in love.
Lead singles like ‘Pass The Salt’ and ‘I Know You’d Kill’ showcase Crookes’ lyrical agility – blending poetic detail with razor-sharp wit. Meanwhile, the euro-pop inspired ‘First Last Dance’ channels euphoric melodies to mask deep emotional struggle, and the cinematic ‘Perfect Crime’ sees Joy fully self-actualise in the style of a Western showdown.

On ‘Paris’, the closing track, Joy reflects on a formative queer relationship: “Something I feared so much finally, actually felt like love.” It’s a sentiment echoed across Juniper – a record that captures the beauty and brutality of emotional openness.

The album arrives after a period of personal upheaval for Crookes, including a mental health crisis that shadowed the album’s creation. “I was in the trenches,” she says. “But the studio became my solace. Never Turn Your Back on a Friend" is the third studio album by Welsh heavy metal band Budgie, released on 18 May 1973.
This was drummer Ray Phillips' final appearance on a Budgie recording to date.
The album shows the band continuing the successful heavy metal formula of their previous album Squawk,
adding a hint of speed metal in the single "Breadfan," one of the band's best known songs.

Return Of The Funky Man is the second album by New York legend Lord Finesse. Originally released in 1992, this album was highly anticipated after his debut on the scene just a few years prior. Having already established himself as a punch-line king capable of humorous storytelling, Return of the Funky Man cemented Finesse as a top-notch producer. Tracks such as “Fat for the 90s” and “I Like My Girls With A Boom” showed the Funky Man truly living up to his name, both on the mic and behind the boards. After the gruff-voiced “Lord Finesse Intro”, the album goes on a nonstop journey of witty wordplay over genre-defining boom bap beats. Along for this ride, Finesse brings D.I.T.C. brethren Showbiz and Diamond D on the production side (plus Aladdin & SLJ) while AG and (at the time) newcomer Percee P share mic duties. Topically, Finesse doesn’t stray too far from reminding us why he’s earned the title The Funky Man. Whether it's bragging and boasting, or breaking down females, he has a way of doing it with a tongue-in-cheek type way that is sure to have you letting out a laugh or two every couple of lines. He possesses that rare quality of being a solo MC that is capable of entertaining throughout the entire hour plus listening experience. Standout tracks such as “Yes You May”, “Stop Sweating the Next Man”, and “Party Over Here” all show why this album was instantly praised by fans and critics alike.

A photo in Rodney Stepp’s scrapbook sums this period in his life in music. It’s 1974, The Spinners were headliners at the “Zaire 74” music festival, a sideshow to Muhammad Ali’s fabled “Rumble in the Jungle” fight with George Foreman. Among the faded snapshots, there’s a picture of Stepp backstage posing arm in arm with Ali; another image shows The Greatest seated at Stepp’s Fender Rhodes alongside vocalist Etta James. It was all a dream for this Naptown wunderkind, who had previously recorded for Herb Miller’s LAMP Records as the Diplomatics and had issued the sweet soul killer “Young Girl” as Jazzie Cazzie and the Eight Sounds on a rare Knaptown 45. (These recordings have been documented on the Now-Again LAMP anthology and our Loving On The Flipside compilation.) But as exciting as his rise out of those local status was, as exciting as it was to headline festivals and arenas and appear on late night talk shows, Stepp grew restless with the mechanical routine of being a sideman. He grew tired of playing the same charts night after night. He was hungry for a creative outlet that mimicked his earliest days in recorded music. So, in 1978, Stepp left The Spinners and returned to Indianapolis, where he established an all-stargroup of musicians–including members of Jazzie Cazzie and the fabled Amnesty–and he named the band Rapture. They inspired countless others. They recorded an album’s worth of material. Now-Again’s Egon first got tapes from Stepp in 2002 and dutifully transferred them, but the time was not right for a foray into this wealth of material. Come 2025, and this is the first time it Rapture’s music is seeing the light of day, a triumphant, late career moment for Stepp and a cause for celebration of those intrigued by deep, sweet soul and disco funk

West coast writer / producer George Semper recorded four sides on the Sherilles − a group led by Vessie Simmons, who had been lead singer for the Ribbons in the early 60s. She would go on to have a prolific solo career in the 70s, right through to the 90s. Ace sleuth Alec Palao found four Semper-produced sides on two DCT acetates and we licensed the rights from the Semper family.

These fully realised recordings are from 1968 when the group had to swiftly change their name from the attempted one of the Shirelles − which they had hoped to get away with, and presumably cash in on that outfit’s fame. A court injunction put paid to that plan and though the name change was only slight, it was never tested in court, as the tracks were never issued. ‘Nobody’s Gonna Love You’ is an excellent George Semper song and judging by the 100 Club’s audience reaction to recent plays will become a staple of forward-thinking club’s playlists.

‘Make It On My Own’ is in the same groove and not far short of the A side. Vessie would re-write and re- record it in 1975 as ‘I Can Make It On My Own’ for a solo release on her Simco label.

Jonathan Sings! is the fourth album by American rock band Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers, and was released in 1983. Richman emerges as an incurable romantic on Jonathan Sings!, an infectiously sunny effort which stands among his finest LPs. Recorded after a long layoff with a new Modern Lovers lineup, Richman sounds thoroughly recharge, even extolling the simple virtues of "This Kind of Music"; among his other enthusiasms are kids; "Not Yet Three" and travel; "Give Paris One More Chance", but his primary focus here is romance, "You're the One for Me," "That Summer Feeling" and "Someone to Hold Me" are positively joyous. NME ranked it at number 19 in their "Albums of the Year" list for 1984. Jonathan Sings! is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on purple coloured vinyl.
