Independent Belgian artist of Congolese descent MAHINA explores an eclectic voice where soul, Afrocentric melodies, R&B, reggae , and both acoustic and electronic sounds intertwine, carried by percussion. ZAZA is MAHINA's long-awaited debut EP.

Moving between deep introspection, spiritual messages, and enchanting harmonies, Mahina embodies a new voice - both innovative and singular. Her ambition is clear: to make listeners feel, heal, resonate, and find a space where music becomes a language of truth and elevation.

Alongside her music, Mahina has performed in the critically acclaimed theater production Dear Winnie (KVS & NNT) and appeared on screen in the short film Le retour des femmes colibris by visual artist Patricia Kaersenhout.

Zaza is much more then just an EP, it is an inner quest, a journey through love, faith, vulnarability and resilience. Through an eclectic sound palette : soul, Afro-rhythmic, R&B, reggae, acoustic and electronic. Mahina offers a unique identity, both intimate and universal.

This adventure is conceived as a breath, a space where emotions and spirituality meet. Balancing fragility and strength, softness and intensity, Mahina unfolds a sincere and captivating voice that seeks to make listeners feel, heal and resonate.

‘ИМА (Ima)’ is a work by KiMiMi, the solo project of a musician Shin-ya Ohno, which captures the layers of time and the presence of people inhabiting ‘Arimasuton Building’―a self-built structure created over 20 years by architect Keisuke Oka, located in Mita, Tokyo, and reconstructs them into music.

A multi-instrumentalist who masterfully handles a diverse range of instruments, with the gaida (an ancestor of the bagpipes) – which he studied in Bulgaria – at the core of his sound, KiMiMi has previously brought traces of daily life and folk melodies recorded during his travels back to the scale of home recording, weaving fantastical folk soundscapes through cassette tape works and stage music.

Alongside his musical activities, he has participated in the construction work for ‘Arimasuton Building’, recording the sounds of hammers and steel beams echoing on site, lunchtime chatter, the melodies of instruments played by others, and the sound of cars passing by. From the end of 2022, a zine titled ‘Monthly Arimasuton Building Urimasu’, based on this construction project, was launched. KiMiMi incorporates these recordings into the musical works he contributes to each issue, layering sounds from live instruments―including the gaida, accordion, guitar, flute, ukulele, piano, foot-pump organ, melodica and xylophone―alongside a few synthesiser tones, to shape a soundscape imbued with the humidity and breath of the site.

KiMiMi’s creative process is characterised not by planned construction, but by an attitude of entrusting the work to chance, intuition and the passage of time. Fragmented recordings are layered, set aside for a time, and then unearthed again. Through this repetition, the music naturally takes shape. This resonates perfectly with the process of ‘Arimasuton Building’, which was built up improvisationally, layer by layer, without any pre-prepared blueprints.

‘ИМА (Ima)’ marks the current stage of KiMiMi’s sonic journey and represents an attempt to gracefully transcend the boundaries between architecture and music, documentation and creation, and the individual and the community. The clamour of the city, the tranquillity of manual labour, laughter, and every sound resonating at the Arimasuton Building site blend with KiMiMi’s music, reflecting the very passage of time in which people live.

Tropical Fuck Storm entstand, als The Drones - die vorherige Band von Gitarrist und Sänger Gareth Liddiard und Bassistin und Sängerin Fiona Kitschin - 2016 in eine Pause ging. Zusammen mit der Gitarristin, Keyboarderin und Sängerin Erica Dunn und der Schlagzeugerin Lauren Hammel hat die Gruppe eine Reihe von der Kritik gefeierten Alben veröffentlicht und sich einen Ruf für ihre aufrüttelnden Live-Shows erworben. 11:68PM’s second EP on the label is somewhat of a prequel to the 001, a collection of material offering context to the genesis of his sound, set to further refine the coordinates Craft Services operates within.

Two contrasting remixes of ‘Space Date’ come courtesy of Pleasurekraft and John Monkman, as the three-way collaboration between Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani and Green Velvet continues to thrill.

Joining the strong reworks is an unexpected treat for fans; a last-minute inclusion of a fresh new original track from the trio.

Drumcode got its first taste of Pleasurekraft’s unique production touch in 2016 when ‘Dopefield’ dropped on ‘A-Sides Vol.5’.

The Swedish/American duo’s exploration of cosmic techno realms made them the ideal candidates to re-work ‘Space Date’.

Their contribution is as visceral as they come; defined by a hypnotic vocal arrangement, a stirring call and response melody and propulsive galloping beats fashioned for peak-time moments.

No surprise it was a highlight of Adam Beyer’s Ultra Resistance sets and gobsmacked Maceo Plex who requested a promo to play at Time Warp a week later.

Meanwhile Drumcode debutant John Monkman steps up with a very different, but not less deadly reinterpretation of ‘Space Date’.

The Brit has impressed in recent times with strong releases on Ellum, Kompakt and his own Beesemyer imprint, and takes this form into DC207.

His is a twisted intergalactic re-rub drenched in warped electro, blistering modular sounds and touches of IDM that manages the difficult task of taking the original to darker, more leftfield realms without ever losing its powerful dancefloor pulse.
