With her debut "My Shadow Was a Nun", Maj Rachel creates anamalgam of soul, musique concrete, sound design experimentsand classical. She employs objects as percussion, fieldrecordings, piano, guitar, synths, violin and effects incompositions that are rich in color and contrast. Her music isabstract, paradoxical, full of emotion. At times, her voicesubmerges into a tumultuous sea of reverb and distortion, onlyto emerge in soft, bittersweet melodies. She sounds dark andeerie. She sounds romantic and whimsical. Pressed on LP again for the first time in years. Aldous Harding's songs are not for the faint of heart. Disarming in their desolate imagery and vulnerable instrumentation, they deal with the raw materials of life: birth, death, love and grief. Sometimes reminiscent of 60s-era folk singers Vashti Bunyan and Linda Perhacs, Harding's work lies in more harsh terrain than her forebears - piercing the long history of the genre with a grit and sincerity rarely encountered. Based in New Zealand's Southern port town of Lyttelton, Auckland-born Harding began playing to the public in small-town venues and busking on the streets. It wasn't long before her name became synonymous with both the vivid devastation of her wordplay and the stark intensity of her performance; a unique blend of fragility and sinewy, world-won strength that belies her youth. Influential BB6 DJs Marc Riley and Mary Anne Hobbs picked up on tracks and a rigorous festival circuit followed in 2015. The Line Of Best Fit lauded her Great Escape performance: “Aldous Harding mixes traditional folk songs with dirge-y notes and ends her incredible performance with an A cappella cover of Edith Piaf she was told she was too young to be singing. It was spellbinding.” Of her debut record, The 405 said, “the voice is from another time and the imagery is dramatic, the themes are universal....

Next on Allchival is a compilation tracing the musical pursuits of Cork’s (via Belfast) Finbarr Donnelly and his trilogy of bands – Nun Attax, Five Go Down To The Sea? and Beethoven - before his untimely death by drowning in London’s Hyde Park in 1989. From the post punk of the first band via the discordant indie of the second to the chaos of Beethoven’s short lived existence this compilation shines some light on one of Irelands most enigmatic frontmen over a ten year period. Released on 18th April Record Store Day on a 15 track LP and an expanded CD version with 24 tracks. Featuring tracks released on Setanta, Creation, Kabuki & Abstract plus previously unreleased Fanning Sessions, the LP also comes with a fanzine with detailed liner notes and ephemera.

Nun Attax, formed in the late 70s, are synonymous with the Downtown Kampus at Cork’s Arcadia Ballroom, the lynchpin of the city’s post-punk music scene. Their live performances being the stuff of Southern legend - unforgettable, incendiary events, examples of which can be heard on the tracks here White Cortina, Reekus Sunfare. In the early-80s the band changed its name to Five Go Down To the Sea? and recorded the Knot A Fish EP 7’’ for London–Irish label Kabuki Records and soon after the band left recession-ridden Cork for the UK capital.

Squatting south of the River, working on building sites and collecting welfare under several aliases recording and gigs were sporadic but by 1984 they had hooked into the early Creation scene, and played gigs at Alan McGee’s Living Room club. Working with The Mekons Jon Langford they release The Glee Club on Edward Christie’s Abstract Sounds label. Following it up with the last of their three releases as Five..on Creation itself the band’s chaotic existence led to its demise only re-emerging in 1988 as Beethoven. Down to two original members – Donnelly and guitarist Ricky Dineen – plus two new additions their only release – a 12” on the fledgling Setanta records – features a cover of “Day Tripper” backed with original tracks and was NME’s Single of the Week in the summer of ‘89 when such things carried weight. The planned second single doesn’t go ahead after Donnelly’s death.

Cardinal & Nun returns to L.I.E.S. now with his debut lp, 8 songs of full on rotten stripped back, fuzzed out, synth punk mayhem. Straight to the head beautifully thrashing anthems, Cardinal & Nun goes in with catchy basslines, dissonant guitar chop ups, and vocals that creep from the shadows throughout the affair. Don't gas out though, there are some somber cuts on the b-side's "Whats Goin On Tonite?", "Pandemonium" and "Day After Day". A true gem in the French scene, now get in the pit and slamjack! Recommended.

DUAT (pronounced "do-aht") was the realm of the dead in ancient Egyptian mythology. The deity Osiris was believed to be the lord of the underworld since he personified rebirth and life after death, being the first mummy as depicted in the Osiris Myth. The underworld was also the resi-dence of various other gods along with Osiris. The DUAT was the region through which the sun god Re traveled from west to east each night, and it was where he battled Apep, who embodied the primordial chaos which the sun had to defeat in order to rise each morning and bring order back to the earth. It was also the place where people's souls went after death for judgement, though that was not the full extent of the afterlife. Burial chambers formed touching-points be-tween the mundane world and the DUAT, and the akh, the effectiveness of the dead, could use tombs to travel back and forth from the DUAT

Ein weiteres vokales Highlight aus einer deutschen Krimi-Trilogie ist Senta Bergers frech-laszives "Vergiss mich, wenn du kannst" (aus dem ZDF-Krimi-Dreiteiler "Babeck", 1968). Das Lied basiert auf dem Titelthema der Serie und wird von der Sängerin in ihrer Rolle als geheimnisvolle, vamp-artige Barchefin interpretiert. Unter Liebhabern europäischer Filmmusik hat sich der Titel längst zum Kultstück entwickelt und wurde bereits mehrfach gecovert. Das Original feiert nun endlich hier seine Vinyl-Premiere. Emerging in 2023, Die Anstalt are a Berlin-based post-punk and minimal synth trio who quickly established themselves with a blistering fusion of early EBM, synth-punk, and classic post-punk. Their sound channels the grit and tension of 1980s industrial sub cultures while feeling unmistakably contemporary. Recently signed to City Slang worldwide, the band are reissuing their independently released debut album through the label. They have also announced a UK and Ireland tour supporting A Place to Bury Strangers, alongside a hometown headline show at Berlin's legendary SO36 in November 2026.

Die Anstalt sound like no one else, even if everyone hears something different. Depending on who you ask, you'll catch traces of Malaria!, Boy Harsher, DAF, early EBM, synth-punk, or X-Mal Deutschland. Then there's the surf guitar, a detail that shouldn't work but somehow holds the whole thing together. The result is theatrical, confrontational, hypnotic, and relentlessly physical. They write slogans that stick. They're appropriately furious. Live, they're less a concert than a controlled explosion.

Their songs give voice to generational exhaustion, the dystopian absurdities of the present, warmongers, the manosphere, and the constant sense that the world is coming apart at the seams. Somehow, they also sound unmistakably like Berlin. That doesn't happen often, maybe once a decade, if we're lucky.

Most of all, Die Anstalt are proof that beneath the noise, the algorithms, and the endless churn of industry discourse, something vital still burns: rage, conviction, and hope in equal measure. At their core, they are a punk band. No posturing. No compromise. No messing around. They don't ask for permission. They burn it all down.

Es handelt sich um einen Vermerk, den der Dark-Ambient-/Industrial-Titan Lustmord beinahe in die Liner Notes seiner neuen Zusammenarbeit mit der Schlagzeuglegende Dave Lombardo aufgenommen hätte. Bei ihrer ersten Zusammenarbeit loten sie die Tiefen des ursprünglichen Industrial und Dark Ambient aus und schaffen dabei etwas, das über die reine Musik hinausgeht. Dave Lombardo bedarf keiner Vorstellung. Sein Ruf als innovativer Schlagzeuger und musikalischer Vorreiter ist unübertroffen. Ob es nun seine jahrzehntelange Tätigkeit bei den Thrash-Metal-Giganten Slayer, seine vier Alben umfassende Zusammenarbeit mit den einflussreichen Experimentalisten Fantômas oder seine Arbeit mit dem renommierten Komponisten und Saxophonisten John Zorn war - Lombardos Leidenschaft für den Klang und seine spirituelle Verbindung dazu überschreiten alle Grenzen Lustmord ist der walisische Musiker, der weithin als Begründer der Dark-Ambient-Musik gilt. Er war zunächst in den frühen 80er Jahren als Mitglied von SPK mit der Industrial-Szene verbunden, bevor er seinen charakteristischen Sound mit Veröffentlichungen wie ,Paradise Disowned" aus dem Jahr 1986 etablierte. Über sein Solowerk hinaus hat Lustmord eine umfangreiche Karriere als Kooperationspartner und Film- sowie Spielekomponist aufgebaut, wobei er mit Bands wie den Melvins, Tool, Nurse With Wound und Wes Borland zusammengearbeitet hat; zudem hat er zu über vierzig Kinofilmen beigetragen, darunter ,First Reformed", ,The Crow" und ,Underworld".

The album was produced by J.C. Botezelli (Pelão), with arrangements by Horondino José da Silva (Dino), who also plays the seven-string guitar. The album features 12 tracks, all written by Cartola, some in collaboration with partners such as Carlos Cachaça, Dalmo Castelli, Elton Medeiros, and Nuno Veloso. Among them are “Acontece,” “Alvorada,” “Tive Sim,” and “O Sol Nascerá.”

D Stone is a rising force in Amsterdam’s electronic music scene, blending live instruments with electronic production to create his unique take on house music. His sound bridges true house to proto-disco and deeper percussive elements, as showcased in his release Total Unison. A passionate DJ and producer, D Stone crafts infectious tracks by combining samples with live instruments, driving dance floors with his grooves. Born into a musical family, D Stone was immersed in sound from an early age. His father’s influence exposed him to diverse musical styles, sparking his lifelong curiosity. He began playing piano at eight, learned guitar at twelve, and by fifteen discovered electronic music, exploring house as a DJ. A year later, he ventured into production, gaining recognition and landing his first gigs. Inspired by 70s and 80s disco, funk, garage, and 90s tech house, his music blends energy, groove, and soul. Dödshjelp haben ihren Sound seit ihrem letzten Album ”Send Dudes” (das in 2025 für den norwegischen
Grammy als bestes Rockalbum nominiert war) perfektioniert und liefern auf dem neuen Album ”The Nasty
Piece” den perfekten Mix aus Punk und Rock. Wer auf norwegische Bands wie Turbonegro, The Good

Für die neue Platte holte sich die Band diesmal Produzent Bendik Markovic Toming-Weston (brenn, TØFL,
Fred again.…) ins Boot, der laut der Band ”eine echte Pop-Hure” ist.
Natürlich haben es nur die stärksten Songs auf The Nasty Piece geschafft. Das Album enthält außerdem
die bereits veröffentlichten Singles „Jakter en Løve“, „Kjøttkverna“ und „Hun som sitter fast“ und mit
”Lazer Tag” den besten Turbonegro-Song, den Turbonegro nie geschrieben haben.

Diese Veröffentlichung ist Teil der farbigen Vinyl-Serie zum 40-jährigen Jubiläum von World Circuit. „Moussolou“ ist das Debütalbum der malischen Sängerin Oumou Sangaré; es wurde 1989 aufgenommen und 1991
veröffentlicht. Der Titel bedeutet auf Bambara „Frauen“ und verweist von Anfang an auf das zentrale
Thema des Albums. Viele der Lieder basieren auf Sangarés eigenen Erfahrungen als Frau in einer männerdominierten Gesellschaft, in der Polygamie nach wie vor praktiziert wird. Ihre Texte behandeln Themen wie
Liebe, Ehe, Unabhängigkeit und Frauenrechte mit einer Direktheit, die sowohl mutig als auch bahnbrechend
war.
Auch die Musik war ebenso revolutionär wie die Thematik. Verwurzelt in den kraftvollen, pulsierenden
Rhythmen des traditionellen Wassoulou-Sounds und geprägt durch das brillante Kamalengoni-Spiel von
Bénogo Diakité, modernisierte „Moussolou“ diese Traditionen mit zeitgenössischen Arrangements und einer
Instrumentierung, die bei einer neuen Generation von Hörern in Mali und ganz Westafrika Anklang fand.
Das Album, das sowohl tiefen Respekt vor der Tradition als auch einen unverkennbar modernen Geist zeigte,
entwickelte sich rasch zu einem großen Erfolg und begründete Sangarés Karriere, als sie noch sehr jung
war.
Die Mischung aus kultureller Authentizität und furchtlosem Eintreten für ihre Überzeugungen machte
„Moussolou“ zu einem Meilenstein der afrikanischen Musik und der Weltmusik; es legte den Grundstein
für Sangarés anhaltenden Ruf als eine der gefeiertsten Künstlerinnen des Kontinents und als starke Stimme
für Frauenrechte.
Anlässlich des 40-jährigen Jubiläums von World Circuit Records erscheint dieses kraftvolle und einflussreiche
Debüt nun neu auf transparentem, türkisfarbenem Vinyl. Die Veröffentlichung enthält zudem ein farbiges
Booklet mit den Liedtexten auf Englisch und Französisch.

Unglaublich, aber es ist tatsächlich schon zwanzig Jahre her, dass Georg Danzers Album „Träumer“ veröffentlicht wurde. Damals allerdings ausschliesslich als CD, die heutzutage schon fast ein Wegwerfprodukt
wurde. Wer hätte sich gedacht, dass nach der langen Zeit seit der Erstveröffentlichung die grosse schwarze
Scheibe wieder in Mode gekommen ist.
Es lag daher nahe auch Georgs 33. und letztes Studioalbum erstmalig auf Vinyl zu veröffentlichen.
Somit erscheint rechtzeitig zu Danzers 80. Geburtstag „Träumer“ in einer ”20th Anniversary Edition”
als Doppelalbum auf blauem durscheinendem Vinyl mit zwei unveröffentlichten Liedern wie „Ollas hod
sein’ Preis“ das eigentlich für den Austria3-Film „Jackpot“ gedacht war und „Schwoazza Reg’n“, der ursprünglichen Version des Titelliedes „Träumer“.
Georg Tomandl hat alle Titel nach den Maßstäben der modernen Tontechnik neu gemastered.
Die von Gerhard Weber liebevoll gestaltete Klapphülle inklusive aller Texte auf den Innenhüllen verleiht
dieser Veröffentlichung noch zusätzlichen Charme und sollte daher in keinem Plattenschrank fehlen.

Transparent grünes Vinyl! Wieder lieferbar! Zum ersten Mal überhaupt seit der digital-only Veröffentlichung 2011 erscheint nun der erste "Minecraft"-Soundtrack in physischer Form. Die Vinylversion enthält zwölf Tracks! "Minecraft - Volume Alpha" ist das Werk des deutschen Komponisten und Musikers Daniel Rosenfeld. Unter seinem Künstlernamen C418 erschuf Rosenfeld den weitreichenden Soundtrack und das lebendige Sounddesign, das das auf Voxel aufgebaute Universum von "Minecraft" zum Leben erweckte. Fans und Kritiker waren durch die Bank weg begeistert von seinen beatlosen, ausgewogenen Electro-Stücken. Die bekannte Gaming Seite "Kotaku" führte den Soundtrack unter der "Best Game Music" 2011 und nannte die Musik "beeindruckend beruhigend", während The Guardian die zerbrechlichen Stücke Rosenfelds aus Klavier und minimalistischem Ambient mit den legendären Künstlern ERIK SATIE und BRIAN ENO. In einem Interview destillierte Polygon "Volume Alpha" auf seine Essenz hinuntern: "Der Soundtrack ist nicht gebunden an die Retro-Ästhetik der Minecraft Graphik. Der Soundtrack setzt sich über sie hinweg. Das Album ist ein Versuch, die kombinierte Game/Music Erfahrung in etwas Himmlisches zu übersetzen."

For any collaborative project to succeed, the artists involved need a creative unifier – a meeting point, if you will, of their disparate interests and experiences. In the case of Mondo Love & Betrayal, the joint project of Nottingham musical mainstays Neil ‘Nail’ Tolliday and Henry Claude Scott, there were two creative unifiers: a mutual love of classic 1980s synth-pop, as well as shared admiration for each other’s work.

Even so, such shared interests and respect for prior mutual endeavours is no guarantee of success. Yet as their eponymous debut album emphatically proves, the duo’s disparate experiences, characteristics and musical strengths have not only dovetailed beautifully, but also resulted in serious sonic gold. Put simply, Mondo Love & Betrayal is a stunning debut album rich in emotive songs, colourful melodies, atmospheric chord progressions and infectious grooves. Throw in the sun-splashed warmth and saucer-eyed, loved-up tactility of late 80s dance beats, and you have a breakthrough album whose timelessness is evident from start to finish.

The project’s roots lie in Tolliday’s desire to work with Scott, a virtuoso guitarist, talented producer and secret songwriter best-known for his work alongside Huw Costin as Torn Sail, and John ‘Ming’ Thompson as Brown Fang – both projects known for prioritising organic instrumentation and sunset-ready soundscapes over dancefloor-rooted beats.

Tolliday, of course, is one of British electronic music’s true polymaths – a long-serving house producer best-known for his long-running Bent project alongside fellow Nottingham resident Simon Mills. He initially approached Scott with the idea of providing vocals on a house track he was working on, but quickly suggested something else: an exploration of a classic synth-pop sound inspired by his love of Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Depeche Mode and the producers who worked with them – the likes of Martin Hannett, Arthur Baker, Stephen Hague and John Robie.

Scott accepted the invitation, seeing it as an opportunity to explore a different side of his musical personality. Their first recording session resulted in the ear-catching and memorable brilliance of ‘Correspondence’ – a tongue-in-cheek breakup song inspired by the death of landlines and the rise of mobile communications – and soon they were working on their debut album.

The resultant 10-track set is simply sublime, with Scott’s expressive delivery of his own lyrics on life, love, heartache and rejection working in perfect union with Tolliday’s kaleidoscopic and pleasingly authentic backing tracks – gorgeous and beautifully rendered instrumentals rich in memorable melodies, bittersweet chords, and subtle nods to ‘80s and early ‘90s dance-pop culture, from Shep Pettibone style remixes and Bernard Sumner guitar licks, to Beloved-esque piano parts and Chris Lowe chord progressions. Some listeners may also draw favourable comparisons with 21st century synth-pop practitioners, particularly Parcels, Private Agenda and the deeply emotive songs showcased by Junior Boys.

For proof, wrap your ears around such album highlights as opener ‘Boo Boo’, where Scott warns that “love and betrayal will haunt you” atop sparkling synths and Vince Clarke style grooves, the Behaviour-era PSB melancholy of recent single ‘Your Latest’, the mid-tempo dreaminess of ‘Beyond The Rainy City’, the early Depeche Mode chug of ‘Whatever Happened To Me’ and the tactile warmth of ‘Across The Plane’.

We could go on. In truth, the whole album is – in Scott’s words – “magical musical alchemy”. Wherever they choose to go next, Mondo Love & Betrayal is a seriously good sonic statement of intent.

Dina Summer is the Berlin-based collaborative project of Greek-German dark-disco couple Local Suicide and Bavarian electronic producer Kalipo. The supergroup began working together in 2019 and have since been refining their combined sound. It is a unique blend of their influences, drawing from 80s italo disco, new wave, EBM and early 00s electroclash for a dark retro-futuristic synth/wave pop sound that stands out with club-ready basslines, epic melodic hooks, and lyrics ranging from dadaist abstractions to empowering, thought-provoking themes.

The trio will return with their new mini album, “Children Of The Night”, bringing together all the elements that have defined their sound so far. From the disco infused synth pop of “Burning Heart” and “Bats In Paris,” recalling their debut album Rimini (2022), to the dark club driven tracks “Fuel”, “Komodo 3000”. and the title track “Children Of The Night,” which echo the atmosphere of Hide & Seek (2024), and the dark wave influenced indie songs “Rat Race” and “On The Road”, which would have felt right at home on “Girls Gang” (2025), the release showcases the full spectrum of the band's musical identity. The nine track record takes its title from and pays homage to Bela Lugosi's iconic line in Dracula (1931): “Listen to them. Children of the night… what music they make”.

It’s not just since James Bond and the introduction of World Overshoot Day that we’ve known: The world isn’t enough. We need an Extrawelt! Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe have been tinkering with this celestial body for over two decades, and it seems to be slowly nearing completion. You certainly can’t accuse Extrawelt of lacking ideas. They are, so to speak, the legitimate descendants of the legendary planet designer Slartibartfast from Douglas Adams’ “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. No doubt, the downright insanely creative bossa nova-techno bastard “Honey Hunter” will be mentioned in the same breath as Slartibartfast’s award-winning Norwegian coastlines by future civilizations. The other three tracks aren’t half bad either. Take our word for it.

Man kann Extrawelt nun wahrlich keine Ideenarmut vorwerfen. Sie sind quasi die legitimen Nachkommen des legendären Planetendesigners Slartibartfast aus Douglas Adam’s “Per Anhalter durch die Galaxis”. Der geradezu irrwitzig kreative Bossanovatechno-Bastard “Honey Hunter” wird von künftigen Zivilisationen in einem Atemzug mit Slartibartfast’s preisgekönten norwegischen Küstenlinien genannt werden. Auch die anderen drei Tracks sind nicht von schlechten Eltern. Glaubt’s und werdet selig.

Between the late 1960s and the mid-1980s, an informal community of musicians across the Dutch Caribbean islands of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten created music that crossed stylistic boundaries. For nearly three decades, they shared stages and ideas across islands, forming a close-knit network shaped by common histories and identities, while rarely receiving wider recognition. Their recordings were released locally, often in small runs, and many were never properly archived. As a result, much of this music, and the stories it carries, faded from view. Antiyano Progresivo is dedicated to these artists, many of whom were well known locally, but whose more unconventional music remained largely unheard.
