Der Leipziger Produzent Kolja Gerstenberg hat bereits hervorragende Tracks für die Suol "Summer Daze" Compilations der Jahre 2016 und 2017 beigesteuert. Schiggeria, das Projekt bei dem Kolja mit seinem Kollegen Atbin Milani zusammenarbeitet, ist auch auf unserer neuen "Hallo Montag" Compilation mit der wunderbar souligen Partybombe "Muggelhausen" vertreten. Und weil die beiden die ganze Zeit hochqualitative Tracks raushauen als wäre es nichts, ist es nun höchste Zeit für ihre erste, eigene Suol-EP. Die "Saver Flex" EP wartet mit nicht weniger als vier überaus eingängigen Housetracks auf. Wir sind beeindruckt!

Meggy hat es weit gebracht, seitdem sie in den Clubs ihrer Heimatstadt Berlin zu singen und Platten zu drehen begann. Nachdem sie daraufhin auch als Co-Produzentin, mit u.a. mit Releases an der Seite von Till Von Sein und Ardalan in Erscheinung trat, lag ihr Fokus darauf, ihren Housesound mit einer Leidenschaft für Melodien und Vocals ganz allein zu produzieren, seit 2013 veröffentlicht sie Solo-EPs. Mittlerweile felsenfest in der Berliner Szene etabliert, nicht nur als DJ und Sängerin sondern auch als Produzentin, gleicht jedes Jahr einer Achterbahnfahrt. Und da hochwertiges Material wie diese EP auf regelmäßiger Basis erscheint, wird sich die Situation 2018 wohl auch kaum beruhigen. - TIMES' ist ein Juwel!

Snad aka Shyam Anand is an artist from Chicago of Indian descent. He just moved to Berlin. And this is his first release on Suol.His debut EP for us is a three-tracker and absolute quality. Its title 'Home Away From House' alludes to a musical career spanning three continents and to the 'most enlightened circles', as Snad puts it, 'who still travel the Silk Roads and who take their underground seriously -- wherever they call home'. What this means becomes apparent quickly as the title track drops us straight into a softly stabby, hypnotic little sequence on top of an elegantly subtle combination of a drum machine groove and synth bass. Things build up patiently with luscious delayed chords before rising strings transport us to a beautiful place where the Goa sun shines onto the streets of Chicago. Just like all tracks on the EP, 'Cut!!!' is purely instrumental but it doesn't need words to tell its story. Clever drum programming and cool reverbs are in perfect harmony with a melodic bass riff and a silky, modulating analogue lead that guides us to the end with a smile.

'Deep Looking', the EP's final track, has a solid groove at its centre and some delicious ear candy around it. Syncopated toms and claps join forces with a fast hi-hat pattern to provide plenty of momentum for this otherwise dreamily floating acid house number.

Die beiden SUOL-Honchos Chopstick & Johnjon besinnen sich zurück auf ihre Wurzeln, graben sich deep in die Grooves und liefern mit ihrer neuen "Momentum EP" einen roughen, dirty Sound, der die Frische und Energie von Live-Jams atmet. Passend dazu fragt Feature-Vokalist CeCe Rogers direkt im Opener: "What Is House Music". Die Antwort liegt hiermit vor!
