The result is a three-track EP of previously unreleased remixes, arriving at the end of a year that has already been remarkable for the Iranian-born, London-based artist. Two of the three reworks lean into house, the third reaches towards techno and trance. Together they trace a wide arc of influences. The pulse of New York house sits alongside the melancholy synth romance of Depeche Mode, the drifting, immersive textures of Future Sound of London and the euphoric, rave-born propulsion of Orbital. It's club music with a long memory: patient, physical, and unafraid of a melody that lingers. Because these were never made to a trend, they have not aged. Drawing a direct line from the shadowy corners of late 90s club culture to the avant garde, Kasra's world building is on full display, calling to mind both the full-bodied spirit of Victor Calderone's primal grooves and the voodoo beats of Exquisite Corpse.
