Indem er immer neue Kunstformen und Kanäle wählt, um seine Vision zu verwirklichen, ist der Franzose Woodkid im letzten Jahrzehnt zu einer heimlichen Ikone avanciert: Er ist ein audiovisueller Ausnahmekünstler, dessen Werk stets seine Handschrift trägt, obwohl es mit jeder Zusammenarbeit und jedem Release neue Formen annimmt. mit seinem neuen Album NASIR zurück. Das Album entstammt aus der Produzentenschmiede von
Kanye West und ist ein Produkt aus der vom Produzenten ins Leben gerufenen "Wyoming Sessions".
NASIR ist das vierte Werk aus den genannten Sessions und enthält ebenso wie die Vorgänger
("Daytona" Pusha T, "Ye" Kanye West, "KIDSSEEGHOSTS" Kanye West & Kid Cudi) sieben Titel. Das
Album ist mit hochkarätigen Gastauftritten von Puff Daddy, 070 Shake, Kanye West, Tony Williams und

Libreville Records is proud to present a focus on legendary electronic swiss project Mega Wave Orchestra in the form of a compilation LP including unreleased material.Originally released privately in Geneva in 1988 as a box set containing five LPs by The Mega Wave Orchestra and five prints by the artist H. Richard Reimann. The Mega Wave Orchestra, the brain-child of musician, mathematician and composer Christian Oestreicher, was conceived as an multi-media electronic music big-band. It was comprised of seven multi-instrumentalists Christine Schaller, Vincent Barras, Jacques Demierre, Olivier Rogg, Rainer Boesch, Roger Baudet, and Benoit Corboz, with Oestreicher as arranger and producer.The Mega Wave Orchestra created a new hybrid music. It was a music with roots in the jazz and classical traditions, but one which also drew on the sonic freedom of musique concrete and the kind of total experience offered by psychedelia. The diverse backgrounds and specialisms of each of the band leaders/writers resulted in a wide variety of music across the five discs: from austere drones and granular aural detail to warm oddball fusion and gorgeous but cracked vocal jazz. There are useful contemporary comparisons to be made: zoned synth jazz like the Azimuth LP on ECM or Karin Krog’s Freestyle; Larry Heard’s sequencer dreamtime; the Valium minimalism of Pep Llopis or Jun Fukamaki; Dexter Wansel’s shimmering arrangements for Loose Ends, or even the FM sheen meets cold war threat of Donald Fagen’s Night Fly. You could listen to these tracks and be mistaken for thinking this is an artist who has maybe been lost in the throws of extended Villalobos DJ set or the deep pads of old Sun Electric records, but as an artist who is an outsider to the European dance scene, his inspiration comes from closer to home, as Boundary explains:

"For this EP I was interested to see if i could hit close to the feelings i have when I listen to certain video game music, how I could convey the amazing and deep storytelling in these songs. I really wanted them to feel like a ride/adventure. 'Opticamente Avanzando' ('Optically Advancing' in English) for me is like a venture into a machine that analyses a bunch of electronic music genres and it outputs as many different variations of these genres it can, each with their own little quirk/details, creating something unique in the process."

Die in Los Angeles lebende Harfenistin Mary Lattimore kehrt mit ihrem neuen Album ,Silver Ladders" zurück. Seit ihrem letzten Longplayer ,Hundreds Of Days" aus dem Jahr 2018 ist Lattimore international getourt und hat gemeinsame Alben mit KünstlerInnen wie Meg Baird und Mac Mccaughan veröffentlicht. Außerdem erschien 2019 ein Remix-Album von ,Hundreds Of Days" an dem sich unter anderem Jónsi und Julianna Barwick beteiligten. Bei einem ihrer Festival-Auftritte traf Lattimore Neil Halstead von Slowdive: ,A friend introduced us because she knew how big of a fan I was and Neil and I had a little chat... The next day, I just thought maybe he'd be into producing my next record." Das tat er schlussendlich auch. Lattimore nimmt ihre Alben traditionell allein auf, daher hinterlässt Halstead als Produzent und Mitarbeiter eine ganz eigene Note. Der Aufnahmeprozess in Halsteads Studio, das auf einem alten Flugplatz stationiert ist, dauerte über neun Tage. Even if you don't know her name - you will know her voice. It's 'Melbourne's High Priestess Of Soul' Kylie Auldist's unmistakable vocals on the 2016 global dance hit 'This Girl' by Kungs vs Cookin' on 3 Burners - the track that not only topped almost every pop chart across the planet, featured in many TV shows, adverts and films and social media memes, and has achieved over 1 billion streams & climbing. But of course, that's far from the whole story. Kylie established her enviable reputation as the featured vocalist in the awesome Australian outfits The Bamboos, and Cookin' On 3 Burners, and her fantastically well received solo albums for Tru Thoughts; 'Just Say' (2008), 'Made of Stone' (2009) and 'Still Life' (2012) and 'Family Tree' Freestyle Records (2016). Kylie's brand new album - 'This Is What Happiness Looks Like', her first for Greg Boraman's brand new label Soul Bank Music, further develops the musical approach she began on it's predecessor 'Family Tree' - and is very firmly entrenched on an electro boogie tip, rooted deep in the New York club scene of the early 80's. The opening track 'Everythink' sets out that 1980's electro-boogie sound and then fuses it with the song writing of a classic Wham or Hall & Oates tune - it has an infectious, slinky Moog synth bass line that will lodge itself in people's minds. Kylie's simply stunning vocal performance on this breezy and summery tune will surely make it a future classic. Producers Warren Hunter and Lewis Moody skills in the studio have brought forth many musical highlights on this album, but special mention has to be made for Is It Fun? This is where a brilliant and incredibly infectious composition is further enhanced by some top notch instrumentalists, perfectly executed production, a simply beautiful vocal performance, and results in what should surely end up being an anthemic, brand new 'soul weekender' style classic. Aix Em Klemm is the moniker of the ambient music project consisting of Adam Wiltzie (Stars Of The Lid / A Winged Victory For The Sullen) and Robert Donne (Labradford / Anjou).
As Wiltzie told Sadness Is In The Sky fanzine, his collaboration with Donne began when “we all met during a Texas swing of a Labradford tour that Stars Of The Lid opened for back in 1996. They stayed at my house for a few days and we became close.”
A year later Wiltzie was asked to join Labradford for their Mi Media Naranja European tour of 1997 as the sound technician. This tour also included Bruce Gilbert of the legendary band Wire who was the opening act and joined them in the van for the entire tour. With Gilbert’s nightly improvisations of minidisk field recording explosions running through a Sherman Filterbank, it left a profound effect on Wiltzie and Donne, and led to inspiring internal philosophical discussions on the importance of improvisation. After concluding six weeks in the van, the idea of creating a unique collaboration separate from their other projects was realized. The duo exchanged tapes over the course of a year and then Donne ventured to Austin, TX for a week to record at Wiltzie’s home studio in 1999. The in-person collaboration moved much more quickly than the exchange of tracks by mail. One track on the Aix Em Klemm album, “Sparkwood And Twenty-One”, was written and recorded in one day. The duo took the mysterious name Aix Em Klemm and the self-titled debut was released in the autumn of 2000.
As of late, Wiltzie lives in Brussels, and Donne joined Stars Of The Lid on their last tour of Europe in 2016 playing modular synth. They still collaborate musically so new Aix Em Klemm recordings remain a possibility.

'Chronos' is the debut album of Berlin-based trio AUSKLANG. Presenting a perfect blend of ambient and post-rock music, Chronos traces all the veins of rock, from a grandiose ensemble sound of a cinematic soundtrack to the delicate natures of ambient soundscapes. Each song has its own pulse and signature, giving a new feeling each time.

Good Vids, Vile Times is the second album by Ant Antic. Its central themes are the never-ending flood of information and its effects on us. The Berlin-based singer and producer Tobias Koett wraps serious questions into radiant pop songs. What does constant bombardment of information do to us? What's lost along the way?

On his new album, Ant Antic observes the emotional power of media and information. The helplessness we feel in the face of predominantly bad news and the growing inability to take pleasure in good news. The way an overload of junk information leaves no mental capacity for real social connections. As a child of the first globally connected generation, he witnesses geographical boundaries dissolve and people consider humanity as one. At the same time, everyone seems to struggle to come to terms with a reality overflowing with possibilities. Slowly, we collectively turn into superficial nihilists.

"When I wrote my first album Wealth I looked inward to examine my own emotions, asking myself "How do I really feel?". For Good Vids, Vile Times I was focusing less on the how and more on the question of why. "Why do I feel that way?"", Tobias explains the creative writing process behind his second album as Ant Antic.

"I'm a bag of hot air / Push me up density / Feel like a millionaire / Don't bring me down gravity", he admits on the single Yellow Press. Referencing the album's cover artwork by Austrian photographer Erli Grünzweil, Tobias describes how it feels to advertise his own life to other people - when behind the meticulously crafted presentation, there's sometimes nothing left but emptiness and anxiety.

Good Vids, Vile Times is an album rich in variety, ranging from indie-pop to contemporary R&B. In stark contrast to the somber tone of the lyrics, the songs radiate a cheerful liveliness. Fueled by analog synthesizers and an electric guitar often not discernible as such, the record builds on Ant Antic's signature sound. It's all Tobias on Good Vids, Vile Times - writing songs, recording vocals, guitars and synths, all the way to production and mixing. Essential elements and ideas are put into focus by getting rid of everything else. At the same time, the new album sees singer and producer Tobias openly flirting with pop, exploring new sounds and aesthetics, and maturing musically and lyrically. No song is alike, each one tells an honest and relatable story - all held together by the magic glue that is Tobias' distinctive voice, which might stay with you forever.

Vanish is Julia Reidy’s yearning, fat debut for Editions Mego. Since 2019, Julia’s bubbling 12-string guitar work - sighing streams of crystal plucks drawn closer or echoing on - has moored a tactile, ever-lusher sound. On ‘Guitar’, the Australian, Berlin-based musician melts down sharp synths; electric fuzz and flex; uncanny found sounds; and autotuned voice and harmonica in a heady, overpowering potion.

Reidy’s music sweeps you up. It’s restless, always travelling on. Lonesome tones into machine chorales into hesitant hum. The LP’s side-long cuts sway between scenes but are always rooted: Julia’s guitar and vocal lines seem mapped to the natural ebb and flow of breath and thought, they lull you as they push through vast and secret spaces.

Vanish completes a trio of releases begun with last year’s ‘brace, brace’ (Slip) and ‘In Real Life’ (Black Truffle). The delicious unease, the anxious burning of the preceding volumes has settled, becoming more wide-eyed and resolute. For all its poise, the album’s sense of build - electric licks rasping into glistening synths, punctured by distant kicks - feels freshest. When 'Oh Boy'’s smudged whistle comes, it has fought its way out of the thickets, and hits like heartbreak.

It quickly became a trailblazing smash hit, running for four series and making stars of Rowan Atkinson, Mel Smith, Pamela Stephenson and Griff Rhys-Jones.
Among the many famous, and much-loved, sketches included on the LPs are David Bloody Attenborough (aka Gerald the Gorilla), Points of View, General Synod’s “Life of Python”, Constable Savage, University Challenge, Hi-Fi Shop, That’s Lies, Not The Parrot Sketch, Open Marriage, Question Time, Game For A Laugh, Two Ninnies, McEnroe’s Breakfast, What A Load of Willies, The Pope’s Visit, Simon and Garfunkel and – yes – The Return of Constable Savage.

Limited to only 300 copies this trio of tracks dangled in classic disco juice is one of Picnic Records finest.

"Disco Ynferno" is not quite a cover of The Tramps hit but borrows the lyrics to stay in theme with the release. A driving deep house groove, 909 drums gets things moving and when the big buzzy bass, smooth breaks and nonchalant vocals drop at the halfway point it just feels right.

Company B's Hi-NRG banger get chuggified. "Phasinated" vocals by Aussie soul diva 'Ofa Fotu shine through this deep and funky 110bpm disco groover. Tropical percussion sits underneath a bouncy electro synth bass. A bit of a Crooked Man vibe going on.

GROUNDSWELLS’ is the third chapter in Wren’s seasonal lore exploration, and their first through Gizeh Records. These six melancholy-shrouded sonic ruminations swell between intimate performances devoid of adornment, and evolving soundscapes of auditory ruin. Tracing an elemental arch, 'GROUNDSWELLS' captures Wren delving into earthen awakenings.

Launching into a monochromatic dirge, ‘Chromed’ announces the LPs stylistic intentions, forgoing the trappings of traditional harmony with deliberate pendulums of pitch and tone. Swarms of percussion drag the track to its conclusion in a collage of insidious feedback, with oscillations sculpted by the record’s producer, Scott Evans of Kowloon Walled City.

Elsewhere, swift variance is displayed in Wrens’ deft handling of genre and form, refusing to be solely one of either. The record courses between rigid post-punk, broad waves of dreaded sludge, and austere choral reverberations. Pulsating Krautrock themes present in their previous work are revisited, with a focus on embracing archetypal motorik technique, as the LP stretches compositions to their furthest tensions through profuse repetition, straining the cracks between.

Inviting physical, elemental surrounds into ‘Subterranean Messiah’, Wren allow space for the sudden cloudburst of Middle Farm Studios in the introductory passage via location recording, embracing the interplay between source and locality. Combined with the painterly fretwork and ghostly chants of Fvnerals, the collaboration seeks an emotive new path of melodic vulnerability. In contrast, the closing elegy is layered with disharmonious cycles of agonised cello from Jo Quail. As with other conclusions on the LP, the track's commitment to strained repetition is rewarded with sonic climaxes of blackened psychedelia, led by stalagmitic spirals of atonalism.

Throughout the LP, Wren draws from their long-standing apologue, with a partnership of vocalists showcasing a lyrical and vocal interplay thick with a dense lore new to their compositions. 'GROUNDSWELLS' brings Wren to an equinox in their earthly contemplations. Ruminating on the decaying inanition that engenders renewal, this record is a revelry in the cyclical, repetitious infinity of planetary permanence.

Triangulating a slinky signal to a square mile off the Swan River, Glowing Pin bring us ‘Pentagon Palette’, a master blast of frequency adjusted house, swamp stomp and chakra charmers from Australian newcomer Jonus Eric.

Though opening brace ‘The Cult’ and ‘Collect’ made first contact back in 2014, a loose connection between Perth and Hamburg hindered progress before ‘Mirrors’, ‘Emulator’ and ‘Waterfall’ walked across the web in 2019 to round out a dope debut release from this house auteur. Specialising in mind altering sound design and melodic flair, Jonus generates a neon swamp on ‘The Cult’, serving up a psychoactive roller caked in radioactive fuzz and insectile fizz. Thick bass swells and circular marimba make for a hypnotic rhythm, while a shapeshifting vocal and moody keyboard riff drag us back towards terra firma. The paradisiac refrain of ‘Collect’ soon sounds out through the jungle with a euphoric haze,

its sub-tickling bass and acid gurgle riding hyperactive drum programming as the track warps in the humidity. Soaked in serotonin and brisk at 137 BPM, ‘Mirrors’ burns off the mist to offer an airy update on the French Touch template. Though frazzled circuitry and dislocated vox serve this one with a twist, the chiming pianos and bouncy beat are still best enjoyed in a Golf GTI in the summertime. Jonus reaches for the lasers via the restless rhythm and rave sirens of ‘Emulator’, a fresh take on the funky house of the late nineties updated with unexpected breaks, squealing feedback and treated vocals usually found on a Four Set banger.

Next it’s off to the chillout room for ‘Waterfalls’, a fourth-world tone poem describing crystal caves, undiscovered wildlife and a holographic waterfall. Ditching the doof, and letting those colours tesselate, Jonus offers a +2 bump to your mana, before the post punk bassline, growling EBM vocal and off key organs of ‘YR Mind’ combine for a confrontational bonus track, only available in digital format.

Während ihre englischsprachigen Texte weitgehend belächelt worden waren, hatten sie für die deutschsprachigen Raps Anerkennung erhalten. Nach ihrer Rückkehr schlugen sie DJ Hausmarke und And.Ypsilon, die ebenfalls Mitglieder des Terminal Teams waren, daher vor, dass sie fortan konsequent als deutschsprachige Band auftreten sollten, was auf Zustimmung stieß.

Black Truffle is very proud to present Peaks by Australian cellist Judith Hamann, her debut release of electro-acoustic music. Known mostly for her live performance work with composers including Sarah Hennies, Yvette Janine Jackson, Alvin Lucier, Tashi Wada, and La Monte Young, here she steps away from the cello, moving into an intimate dreamscape woven from recordings gathered over years of itinerant touring.

Peaks is a work in two distinct parts, crossfading between different landscapes and apertures; from rooftop to church, from stasis to flares of momentary romanticism. Peaks considers summits as being both above and below, reframing the idea of apex from a more intimate perspective. Hamann considers how our domestic and personal geographies might form their own apogees, meridians, or nadirs.

Assembled in 2019 while an artist in residence in Krems, Austria, Peaks begins with Hamann’s more familiar cello but soon unravels into resonant electronic interiors; Southern California nightscapes heard through windows, San Francisco bathroom fans, snatches of recordings of friends, hand organs, and engines. signal/centinela draws primarily on recordings from Hamann’s time living in San Diego, and carries with it a certain sense of nostalgia in the sense of homesickness, longing, and displacement of distance and time. Side B is composed from recordings gathered on a different continent, Europe, weaving piano with recordings of sleep, breath, church organ, and the act of climbing. under/over emerges as it recedes, overlapping moments of arrival to create another kind of ‘spire’ in the sense of spir (breath). Peaks, with its omission of any recordings from Hamann’s home of Australia, hints at how the very construction of home itself, might be restless, untethered, changeable, and malleable.

On Peaks, Hamann interrogates tropes of ambient concrète musics, intentionally pivoting formally around material which teeters on the edge of cliche. This exploration asks whether familiar frames of harmony, field recordings and narrative trajectories can excavate new territories, or be ruptured. Peaks untangles a very personal sense of tension between beauty and shame in experimental music: treating lushness and harmony as possessing potentially muscular musical properties that might wrestle with or construct senses of belonging and home.

After more than a year of support from the likes of Loefah, N-Type and others, 'Winter is coming' is Coki's 10th instalment on his Don't Get It Twisted label.

Expect looped crackles, pops, surface noise and all the good stuff related to listening to vinyl on a regular but do not expect any kind of structure or user friendly listening experience at all. This is for the die-hard collectors and vinyl freaks only.

Birthportal's fourth installment comes courtesy of an enigmatic artist donning a novel alias. Noted as a versed producer and musician in their own right, and forming part of a certain well-established Austin-based electronic duo for the last 15 plus years-in this experimental EP they veer into more outright agressive dance floor territory using their production expertise to craft sonic projectiles that are as textured and nuanced as they are accurate and efficient for their context. Jaga Jazzist kehren am 24. April 2020 mit ihrem neuen Album „Pyramid“ zurück, auf dem das legendäre norwegische achtköpfige Kollektiv tief in seine Post-Rock-, Jazz- und Psychedelic-Einflüsse eintaucht. Es ist ihr erstes Album seit „Starfire“ aus dem Jahr 2015, ihr neuntes Album in einer mittlerweile vier Jahrzehnte währenden Karriere, aber es markiert das Debüt der Gruppe auf Brainfeeder, dem in L.A. beheimateten Label von Flying Lotus. Auf „Pyramid“ haben Jaga Jazzist einen kosmischen Sound entwickelt, der zu ihrem neuen Label passt, während es ihre Vorgänger, wie die 80er-Jahre Jazzband Out To Lunch und dem norwegischen Synthesizer-Guru Ståle Storløkken bis hin zu Zeitgenossen wie Tame Impala, Todd Terje und Jon Hopkins zitiert. Jeder der vier langen Beiträge des Albums entwickelt sich über sorgfältig ausgearbeitete Partituren, in denen sich die technisch-farbigen Fäden der Stücke verträumt entfalten.

Die Band, die von Lars Horntveth und seinen Kompositionen angeführt wird, nahm einen sehr direkten Weg zur Entstehung von „Pyramid“. Während sie bei „Starfire“ die Idee einer traditionellen Studioaufnahme auf die Spitze trieben, bei der verschiedene Mitglieder in der Aufnahmekabine ein- und ausgingen, um über zwei Jahre hinweg zu schreiben, aufzunehmen und zu experimentieren, war der Prozess hinter „Pyramid“ fast das genaue Gegenteil: es dauerte nur zwei Wochen, um die Aufnahmen fertigzustellen. Beide Platten wurden zwar vom selben neugierigen, experimentellen Geist angetrieben, aber die Prozesse waren sehr unterschiedlich. Sie zogen sich in ein abgelegenes Waldstudio im benachbarten Schweden zurück und bunkerten sich dort täglich 12 Stunden lang ein.

Das für den GRAMMY nominierte Duo ODESZA und der bahnbrechende australische Produzent Golden Features veröffentlichen neues gemeinsames Album als BRONSON.

BRONSON wurde gegründet, als die ODESZA-Mitglieder Harrison Mills und Clayton Knight 2014 bei einem australischen Musikfestival auf Tom Stell von Golden Features trafen. Die drei teilten ihre gegenseitige Bewunderung für die Auftritte der jeweils anderen und blieben in Kontakt, indem sie Musik über Zeitzonen und Kontinente hinweg über Dropbox-Dateien und FaceTime-Anrufe austauschten. Das Aufeinandertreffen des Trios gipfelte in einem Treffen 2018, als die drei Künstler eine Woche in der abgelegenen Region von Berry in Australien verbrachten, um das aufzunehmen, was später das Debütalbum von BRONSON werden sollte. Wie aus den beiden ersten Singles hervorgeht, ziehen sich Elemente von Licht und Dunkel durch das zehn Songs starke Album, da das Oberthema von „BRONSON“ das dem Menschen innewohnenden Kampf von Licht gegen Dunkelheit widerspiegeln möchte. Das für den GRAMMY nominierte Duo ODESZA und der bahnbrechende australische Produzent Golden Features veröffentlichen neues gemeinsames Album als BRONSON.

BRONSON wurde gegründet, als die ODESZA-Mitglieder Harrison Mills und Clayton Knight 2014 bei einem australischen Musikfestival auf Tom Stell von Golden Features trafen. Die drei teilten ihre gegenseitige Bewunderung für die Auftritte der jeweils anderen und blieben in Kontakt, indem sie Musik über Zeitzonen und Kontinente hinweg über Dropbox-Dateien und FaceTime-Anrufe austauschten. Das Aufeinandertreffen des Trios gipfelte in einem Treffen 2018, als die drei Künstler eine Woche in der abgelegenen Region von Berry in Australien verbrachten, um das aufzunehmen, was später das Debütalbum von BRONSON werden sollte. Wie aus den beiden ersten Singles hervorgeht, ziehen sich Elemente von Licht und Dunkel durch das zehn Songs starke Album, da das Oberthema von „BRONSON“ das dem Menschen innewohnenden Kampf von Licht gegen Dunkelheit widerspiegeln möchte.
