The name Jaxx Madicine suggests a wide range of influences - 'Jaxx' obviously being a tilt of the hat to the original rhythms and basslines born out of Chicago house while the 'XX"s suggest a keen passion for jazz.These are the two main ingredients used by the projects founders Turbojazz and Parker Madicine, who are joined by the talented and mysterious Veez_0 - a young Italian piano player that you're bound to hear more from in the near future.Turbojazz plants his roots in the rhythms and futuristic sounds of the Broken Beat golden age while Parker Madicine leans more towards the sounds and timbres of Detroit's spacey atmospheres. Cin Cin opens it's 2019 account with the inspired pairing of Joe Goddard and Kiwi.
A production 'tour de force' over the last decade, Joe Goddard has had his fingers in many pies (Hot Chip, The 2 Bears, Greco-Roman Soundsystem to name but a few) but it's on this Cin Cin debut that he bares his solo chops and delivers something for the floor. The darker roots of acid house are channelled on 'Jack Come Back', with a rubbery bassline and churning keys loaded over the vintage drum machine rhythms as the deviant vocal calls out the track title. 'Moebius Trip' takes a headier journey through wave upon wave of melodic modular synthesis and crumpled beats, with a nod to Detroit's techno-soul heritage, whilst packing a punch with the energy levels.
Off the back of the highly conceptual project 'Plata - Last Dayz', Circadian Rhythms quickly return to focus on their white label series and solidify their signature sound. CRWL003 takes form of three club driven tracks from the arsenal of Leicester based producer R@ (Lewis Ireson). 'Sometimes it's hard to say how you feel,' says songwriter-vocalist
Jade Vincent. 'These songs are vulnerable stories for me to tell -
they're things I couldn't say out loud. But I found that I could sing
them. And then I closed my eyes when they would listen.'
Listening to Vincent's songs were her partner - producer/composer
Keefus Ciancia - and DJ and producer/composer David Holmes.
Together, Vincent, Ciancia and Holmes make up Unloved, the musical
project that evolved out of a late-night Hollywood bar in 2015,
releasing a stunning debut album the following spring and this year
crafting the soundtrack to Phoebe Waller-Bridge's acclaimed new
series 'Killing Eve'.
Introduced to Ciancia through soundtrack work, Holmes found
himself invited to DJ one night and to curate other nights at the
Rotary Room. To invite Holmes to DJ is to unleash a kind of whirling
dervish of musical enthusiasm but through those nights the trio
discovered a shared love for 60s girl groups and French pop and film
noir soundtracks, Brigitte Fontaine, Shuggie Otis, George 'Shadow'
Morton, Bruno Nicolai, Lee Hazlewood and Jack Nitzsche, along with
a tremendous desire to work together.
Their debut EP - 'Guilty Of Love' - and the full-length, self-titled
album that followed in the spring of 2016, offered a quite remarkable
thing: a sound at once hauled out of the silty depths of the past and
simultaneously wholly modern. There was the soft hiss of a lo-fidelity
recording - the murky crackle of sample, beats and half-remembered,
long-lost favourite tunes. However, much of the songs' success
belonged to Vincent's sublime voice and lyrics, both possessed of an
aching, rich-smoked tone of loss and love.
Unloved's second album, 'Heartbreak', is about love. The album plays
out each song like a vignette of nothing but love. The songs that rose
up were in some ways surprising, but also felt insistent. 'They're real
feelings and real experiences that I had the guts to finally say, but
always ambiguous, this is very important to me,' she explains, 'and
always about love, one way or another.'

That undeniable US funk flavour coupled with Buari's Ghanaian rhythms bring a zest to these grooves even the tangiest of forbidden fruits couldn't draw out. Those fuzzed keys and dusty highlife guitar licks sprinkle the West African flavour, whilst drumming demi-god Bernard Purdie provides the wizardry behind the infectious, yet precision like beats that make the track so unique. "Broken Spell" starts off with a super moody atmosphere that slowly opens up until it reaches its energetic peak with bright synth stabs and a smooth bassline before colorful arpeggios are drifting the track into other spheres. Hungarian producer Giash has been on Metroline Limited radar for quite some time. It took a while to get him on board but the wait is finally over: the misteriously titled Sen_d_Ingo Ep is here and it is super-tasty!
An expert crafter of minimal beats and hypnothic grooves, Giash career has spanned over 10 years with his productions being released on wax through seminal labels such as Archipel, Plaisir, Why So Series and many more.
The opening track, Brunc_hc-_h, give us the first shot of underscores and a high dosage of machine funk minimalism. It's a full on/slow-mo industrial churning groover with sci-fi licks and lush pads work!
The second cut on the A side it's the beatiful Imagin__ary and it's deep minimalism at the highest level. It's a great mixture of new and old as far as reduced jacking grooves are concerned.
It could have easily fitted in the late 90's Perlon/Playhouse era but it surely sounds as current, fresh and forward thinking now.
Side B is solely occupied by the tripped out grooves of Sen_d_ingo. Close your eyes, imagine yuorself in an East London basement at the darkest of after-parties, this track is the perfect fit for that particular moment.
Over 13 minutes of dark and hypnotic beauty, the track is crunchy and punchy with a wigglesome broken rhythm, some subtle synth variations and plenty of dark and deep atmoshperics!
It's been 6 years since ALTZ.P released their debut single 'Dodop' in 2012 from a label 'Crue-l', which Kenji Takimi presides over. They've produced the black fat tight band sound, which is exotic and toxic but sharmanic and heavenly. Pulseman, the singular genius, has a perfect command of vibration frequency originating the groove. His minimalism and the Middle East disco beats by the drummer, Mau (ex-NEWEST MODEL), and the bass player, Shake Yoshimura, are intersecting organically. The one and only sound view of ALTZ, the star that shines on the scene, is spiritually colored by the shrine maiden chorus girls, Maririns, whose names are all Mari. Their psychedelic power of language in the soulful chorus is interesting. Also, 21CH (ex-DAMAGE) is performing the synthesizer as a guest player.
The dystopian reality is here but as humans possess enormous power to destroy, we are still subordinated to the greater powers of nature and material world. Desastere depicts the fragility of human experience when compared to space. The A side gives the sensation of inveitable and slow, intimidating superclusters with it's opener Mare Nostrum, and on side A2 - Supernova track that decelerate into hard-kicking loops. The B side is making an introduction to the final cut that will happen with the Cap on side 1 and B2 The Dune - which finalise the encounter in their off-beat and industrial manner.

Franck Vigroux's music is made of tectonic tensions, beats, electronic textures and a very personal approach to sonic exploration. He has performed and recorded with musicians such as Mika Vainio, Reinhold Friedl, Elliott Sharp, Zeena Parkins, or Ars nova ensemble instrumental. Vigroux's uniqueness comes from his artistic approach that integrates new media and performing arts. He designs transdisciplinary shows and audiovisual concerts, collaborating with visual artists such as Antoine Schmitt and Kurt d'Haeseleer. Vigroux's records have been published on many labels worldwide such as DAC Records, Leaf, Cosmo Rhythmatic, Monotype, Radio France, Erototox.
Brainwaltzera returns to FILM. The shrouded producer continues to demonstrate a breadth of skill as both a musician and engineer, with another collection of deep and textured recordings for the FILM label, intended as an Epi-Log' to the artist's debut album Poly-Ana. Continuing the exploration of crystalline IDM, proto-Electro, Ambient and other curious strains of left-field music, Brainwaltzera looks out across a colourful and varied sonic landscape, drawing on a wealth of classic influences all the while maintaining that unique and instantly recognisable finish. Low slung 4/4 opener Triangulate Dither (fairytall Version) hinges on fathoms deep synth work, moving about a playful hook that operates in stark contrast to the track's heavy, tape distorted finish. Laif Of Smit touches on new territory - a nod to contemporary Beats production, complete with pitch shifted vocal and heady, warping bassline - before beatless recording (take 2) brings the listener back into a more familiar space: a beautiful ambient segue reminiscent of the producer's earlier productions on the label. Countdempops showcases Brainwaltzera's simple yet effective drum work - a perfectly executed, emotive cut centred around a dusty break. Bad Endgar focuses more on the high frequencies - a crisp, clean Electro production, featuring those signature sliding synths now a characteristic of the producer's music. Uptempo closer Dropp on Gminor rounds off the EP with a kind of Folk meets Footwork piece that lifts the record's final notes into a tentatively more euphoric state. Heavy on atmosphere, rich in inherent musicality and beautifully executed - the Brainwaltzera journey continues with another solid offering on the FILM label.
It's a match, mate, innit Stepping in the cypher with a brand-new EP, Last Nubian emerges with a signature sound that reveals the passion of the digger behind. While covering the whole range from hip-hop to house, the London-based producer manages to match the best of both worlds and delivers dusty grooves for the heads as well as catchy dance floor oriented stuff. Although the rhythms and beats often feel nostalgically familiar, Last Nubian always flirts with the fringes of a more experimental sound design while citing Flying Lotus, Mndsgn, Theo Parrish and other pioneers as his influences. Having Blaq Numbers affiliates 2XM and Paso add their two cents to the show as well, makes this artfully crafted tape a family affair.

Sami Baha is a Turkish producer based in South East London. His music was introduced to the world via his 2016 EP 'Mavericks'.
