Jonah Ellis came to the Drifters as a guitarist but was soon singing with the group and acting as their musical director.

This multitalented musician/ songwriter hailed from DC where he was born on 25 August 1947 and grew up to graduate from Springarn, Senior High in Washington.

He went on to study further at Morris Town Junior College in Morris Town, Tennessee.

Then he received a BA degree in Music from Knoxville College in Knoxville, Tennessee, and a Master of Arts in Music from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.

His first move into recording came with his group Jonah and the Whales and ‘Savannah Sun’ which sold well locally by didn’t chart nationally.

Jonah’s second single ‘I Get Hot/ Popcorn Cellar’ on Viking Records in 1970 had similar results but he was writing great songs and creating a lot of interest. In addition to penning Yarbrough and Peoples big hit ‘Don’t Stop The Music’ in 1980 which hit platinum.

Jonah was writer/ producer at Total Experience Records where he found time to cut a single under his own name ‘Christmas Won’t Be Christmas Without My Baby’ and also wrote hits for the Gap Band the biggest hit being ‘Desire’. Jonah only stayed a Drifter for about a year between 1986-87.

A short time later he joined the Temptations as their lead guitarist but didn’t stop writing songs for other artists (sometimes in his pen name Lonnie Simmons) like Alicia Keys ‘Gangsta Lovin’, Puff Daddy ‘Soul Food’, Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King ‘Shame’, Billy Paul ‘Fire In Her Love’and so many more including Aretha and sister Carolyn Franklin, Esther Phillips, Rose Royce and Burt Bacharach.

Jonah continued to write and perform internationally until his untimely death from a stroke on 22 February 2010.

With Picture About You, Recut opens a new chapter, blending the heritage of house music, acid textures and underground electronic culture into a contemporary vision for today’s dancefloors. An important part of this story comes from his uncle, known as Mr. Steve, who in 1975 founded one of the pioneering independent radio stations in Southern Italy during the early years of independent broadcasting. His connection with radio, disco culture and the first generation of Italian clubs embodied a spirit of discovery, sharing and musical exploration that continues to shape Recut’s approach to music.

Musically, “Picture About You” unfolds through a hypnotic and emotional groove, blending old-school character with a contemporary perspective. A timeless club track where past and present come together in Recut’s own musical language. “Hey Jack” is a powerful dancefloor weapon driven by unstoppable grooves, hypnotic acid lines and captivating arpeggios. Built for peak-time moments, it pushes the energy forward with a relentless rhythm designed to ignite the crowd.
“Subwave” takes the journey into a deeper and more massive dimension. Moulded By Industry is William D Drake's six album, his first for ten years and a return to the richly layered sonic texture and epic production of his majestic Briny Hooves. He is joined by long time collaborators James Larcombe, Dean Gaisburgh-Watkyn and Steve Jackson, with the addition of a new crew member, singer Treana Morris. Moving on from his nine years of pianistic and compositional duties in Cardiacs, Drake's solo work has been known for its synthesis of Mellotron-driven grandeur with a surreal playfulness.

But the deep heart of Drake's work is in its powerful evocation of the landscape of the countryside and its connection with love, longing and loss. To this end, his own enigmatic lyrics have rubbed shoulders with poetry drawn from across the centuries. From obscure sources such as Samuel Spree to the poetry of Thomas Hardy and Rupert Brooke, his settings make old words shimmer with human emotion. The texture of his music also reflects an inspirational lack of concern for distances of time. The earthy breath of his harmonium is interwoven with tones teased from archaic instruments by James Larcombe – hurdy-gurdy, dulcitone and melodeon.

But Drake's sound-world is no museum. Here, ancient words and the timbres of ancient instruments become one with the rush of a moment's emotion. Moulded By Industry brings this approach a new sonic depth, intoxicatingly shaded by Treana's lush vocal harmonies and underpinned by Steve's rhythm. Dean's evocative guitar textures give an oceanic sense, tinged with Americana, recalling his work with Drake in their alt country band Nervous. These many layers of sound are drawn together into vivid soundscapes by the painterly mixing of producer Ott. Renowned for his work in electronica and dub, Ott's two decades of experience working with artists such as Sinéad O'Connor, the Orb and Brian Eno bring an organic touch here, more akin to the elemental forces of land and sky than grid electricity. More than any of Drake's previous albums, Moulded By Industry reignites the emotional urgency of old texts. The gorgeous single The Flickering Shade, haunted by glimmers of lost possibilities, is set from words by Thomas Ashe. Turtledove's heady evocation of the blissful madness of love sets the words of an anonymous 17th century ballad. above all, the album is a testament to Drake's love of John Clare, 'The Northamptonshire Peasant Poet'. Clare wrote as the centuries old process of enclosure, in which wild and common land was appropriated commercially, was accelerating.

His works, rather than representing simple sentimentality, are passionate love poems to the landscape and cries from a soul reeling from the creeping unfamiliarity devouring it. This sense of the tension between passion and ill-ease has its most potent expression in Green Shadows. The brooding, slow-tempo energy of Steve's drums drive a horizon-wide lament, alternately lulled by Treana's vocal textures and made restless by James' plaintive hurdy-gurdy and the emotive pull of Dean's slide guitar. The present moment is also a time of enclosure, both metaphorically, as our lives, memories and emotions are drawn into the commercial space of social media, and literally as land and water are swallowed by vast data centre developments. Moulded By Industry celebrates a regained sense of being in the moment in the landscape, in life and in love. The album closes with the utterly delightful single Love In The Universe. The kind of song that could make a cynic use the word 'joyous' without irony, this Harry Nilsson-esque romp reassures us, with a wink, that 'in an infinite universe everything has its place ... even the human race'.

Formed between London and the outskirts of Glasgow, INTA-CITY is a new clandestine jazz-funk project from Daniel Maunick alongside Zaidi Kiggundu and Jamie McShane AKA Zaimie.

With the rebellious spirit of the British funk hustlers of the 1980s — Freeez, Light of the World, Incognito The Warriors, all of which counted Maunick's father Jean Paul 'Bluey' Maunick among their founding members — INTA-CITY adopt the DIY, solidaristic and dancefloor-first ethos of the original movement: no frontman, no band photos or fancy music videos. Just music to move to.

Ahead of their debut album release next year, the band have enlisted Boston edit master Kon, Italian cosmic royalty Daniele Baldelli & DJ Rocca, and Bolognese duo G&D for a limited edition remix 12” and digital release out 18th September 2026 via Far Out Recordings.

The Texas-born singer-songwriter experienced a meteoric rise after her series of 3-Pack song releases and singles, but My Reckless Abandon lives as a complete 13-song journey to self-acceptance and introspection after a lot of messy and ‘reckless’ ups and downs.

The album was written and produced by Bella Kay and executive produced by Idarose (Becky G, Suki Waterhouse, Joji) and was recorded between New York and Los Angeles throughout 2026.

Southern Italian producer Kikko Esse makes his debut on Four Framed Music with Wisdom of Many Minds. Rooted in funk and soul, his sound draws on the timeless spirit of Chicago, deep and Detroit house, while adding a warm musical touch of his own. The result is a collection of four deep house cuts built on groove, musicality and timeless appeal.

Opening track Solo Imperiale sets the tone with warm Rhodes chords, organic percussion and a rolling bassline. Its hypnotic groove strikes the perfect balance between musicality and timeless dancefloor appeal. Detroit legend Rick Wade puts his unmistakable stamp on the original with a signature Detroit deep house reinterpretation. Dusty chords, loose percussion and a deep rolling groove come together in a timeless remix that perfectly reflects his iconic sound.

On the flip, Echoes of The Tribe explores a more organic and spiritual direction, combining earthy rhythms, warm melodies and hypnotic grooves. Ten years ago, Horse Jumper of Love released their self-titled debut, one that not only launched their career but also inspired a generation of shoegaze artists to come.


Recorded in a mill space studio by future longtime collaborator Bradford Krieger and first released in 2016 (before a re-issue by Run For Cover in 2017), Horse Jumper of Love introduced listeners to the band’s unique strain of expertly crafted minimalism and haunting lyricism. Tracks like “Orange Peeler” and “Ugly Brunette” capture a gritty melancholy and existentialism that is both youthful and timeless, angst-ridden and sincere. Now, a decade later, Horse Jumper of Love remains a beloved cult classic and a touchstone of the band’s continually developing brand of glacial, grungy indie rock.
This 10 Year Anniversary Deluxe Edition LP features new tri-fold packaging with collaged ephemera from singer and songwriter Dimitri Giannopoulos’ years in Boston while writing the record, a 20-page sewn-in booklet featuring never before seen photos and drawings, and handwritten tablature for the record’s original 9 songs. Disc one includes the original album fully re-mastered, and the brand new second disc features 13 bonus tracks recorded between the years of 2013-2015, mostly by Dimitri at home on a Tascam Portastudio, including single “Heathers (2013)” which was an early version of what would later become “i love you very much forever” and other never before heard demos, b-sides, and alternate versions of the original songs.
The record will also be released for the first time on CD, packaged in a 2-disc swing tray jewel case with a fold out poster.

Repress 2026
Two years after releasing the acclaimed Crash Recoil, Anthony Child aka Surgeon returns to Tresor with new LP, Shell~Wave. Retaining the minimal equipment list and studio-version-of-live-show-sets approach of the previous album in order to focus on the work itself, Shell~Wave is a deeply personal document of both where Surgeon is and has been, converging three decades of experience with a continued curiosity in the untested.
“To make this project, I had to dig really deep in terms of what my relationship was to techno; I’ve been involved with it for a really long time and there’s a lot about it I feel dislocated from, so I had to really think hard about what techno is to me. I often get asked “what is techno to you?” but I can’t answer that with words; this album is the answer.” From the complex, twisting track Infinite Eye to the caustic Soul Fire, the eight tracks that make up the body of the album are single-take explorations of the vast, hard yet minimal techno Child is synonymous with.
Neatly dividing the record in two, the emotional centre of the record comes in the form of Dying, a vibrating, beatless piece that with a mantra-like vocal loop steeped in reverberating effects. Further echoes of dub production appear throughout the record as tracks like Divine Shadow, and Empty Cloud have an almost ever-present mist of reverberation, driven by the appearance of a new delay unit in the equipment list; while much of the philosophy of Crash Recoil’s creation is present, the process and the instruments have changed as Child again switches up his approach to studio work.
This insistence on trying novel techniques doesn’t preclude returning to old ones, as this use of modern digital machines with live, hands-on takes that are as inspired by 60s producer Joe Meek and 70s reggae as they are by this year’s synthesiser expos.
“For me, it’s an interesting experience returning to old techniques again after 30 years. I’m always exploring and finding myself back at the beginning. Connecting the present with the past.”
This philosophy of ‘time travel’ is inherent to the music itself as the synchronised loops repeat while the delay and effects branch out, forming unique eddies; distinct quantum moments within the circular whole; the future leaking through the spaces between the sounds. All of the concepts on the album are perfectly communicated through the painting by Taiwanese artist Jazz Szu-Ying Chen which suggests the movement of water, sound waves, and the chitinous shells of sea creatures.

Chase & Status announce their forthcoming album Generic Everything, out 9th October 2026, alongside new single “Gone Too Far” featuring Debbie. Following the instant success and subsequent repress of its inaugural release, Stones Taro’s self-release experiment "Foglore" returns with its second installment, further expanding the captivating universe built in Part 1. Rooted in the same core concept—a seamless blend of dubby, fog-laden sound design and a timeless aura reminiscent of ancient folklore—this four-track EP solidifies the very definition of "Foglore." On the A-side, "Weather Wheel" sets an energetic tone as masterfully mixed, chopped breakbeats seamlessly dissolve into hazy, atmospheric pad sounds. It is followed by "Moss Pulse," a track whose precise sound design acts as a natural hub bridging the worlds of Dub Techno and Dubstep. Since the release of DAMAGED in 2024, Michael Fiedler aka GHOST DUBS has been surfing intensifying waves of adulation, earning praise from such diverse underground legends as Justin Broadrick (Godflesh/Jesu), Regis, Stefan Betke (Pole) and Steve Von Till (Neurosis). With second album Oblique, his mastery of sculpting sound waves results in a spellbinding set of alien soundscapes: larger in scale, richer in tone and considerably more cinematic than its predecessor. Lower, deeper and moodier, its cloudy abstractions, shadowy pulsations and submerged rhythms find Fiedler reaching further into his own sonic void, crafting blurred melodies and addictive narco loops into something simultaneously heavyweight and hypnotic. Album opener "Low Times" sets the atmospheric pressure to maximum, resembling a dream date between prime dirt-house era Andy Stott and Berlin dub-tech pioneers Basic Channel. From there, Oblique descends into a series of enchanting mood scenes: the furtive, balletic gyrations of "After All", the haunting ambience and buried heartbeat throb of "Soft Collapse", and the noirish atmospherics of "Blackout Dust", which worms its way into the mind like some forgotten David Lynch scene. The spirit of reggae is more distanced here than on DAMAGED, but the ghost of Jamaican dub still permeates these foggy soundscapes, particularly on "Bombed Suburbs", where Augustus Pablo-style melodicism is chopped, screwed and slowed into a magnetic lock groove. Superficially minimal but maximal in its minute detail, Oblique is a record of contorted reflections, mesmeric echoes and tantalising audio mirages. By the vaporous mist of closing track "Almost a Structure", obvious rhythm has been craftily filtered away, leaving a blurred and blunted residue full of mystery and implied narrative. Dense in the best possible sense and crushing when played loud yet equally potent played quiet, Oblique imagines dub techno burning its own rigid rulebook: sensual, funky and concussive rather than dry or alienating. Cologne based DJ and producer Barnt has been bottling his own weather system since 2010: captivating techno where melodies flirt, rhythms evaporate, and structure is something to tease rather than obey. An attitude, that pierces the average definition of techno. With an album and endless EP’s, he turned club orthodoxy inside out. Barnt has sent his tracks out via labels like Cómeme, Mule Musiq, Hinge Finger, Hivern Discs, Kompakt, or Magazine from Cologne, the enterprise he co-runs with a bunch of friends.

After his 2014 debut album on Magazine, that came out as catalogue number 13, Barnt is back with number 25, a new album, titled “After completing the Hex”. Eleven tracks, each grinding lowkey skewed. This is techno for dramatic entrances. Dance music for confusion. Freely played chords oscillate with intention. Alluring melodies glide across stoic beats. Peaktime vibes stripped to the bone. An album that provides Barnt’s most complete release until today, displaying his unique sound world effortless assembled. Mastered by longtime accomplice, producer Matt Karmil, it features playful, seemingly unintentional, meandering club spirits. There are melodies made from 100 notes and hooklines fashioned from just one. In-between calmer electric enchanters, minimal, free-spirted, tempting. His slinky madness occasionally presents sublimely embedded environmental sounds or oral samples, taken from sources like Torn Hawk’s “Trustfall” TTT cassette album. There is a touch of sadness, that veils the recordings at times, always defied by lightness and optimism. A record made with true inspiration, that overrides all fears. Drawn frankly from emotions, bringing the ultimate flow state, that unlocks a new techno gate.

2026 Repress

Tapper Zukie was high on a list of artists that Richard Branson in 1978 had in mind to sign to his new Reggae label Front Line.
The mission was to sign the cream of the reggae crop when the Virgin record boss went down to Jamaica with a group of Reggae minded people,included in that group was one Johnny Rotten,singer of the very recently disbanded group The Sex Pistols.
The result of which would be a two album deal between Tapper and the label.
The first release also in 1978 was the album Peace in the Ghetto(Kingston Sounds KS052) and this release Tapper Roots.
For the cd issue of this release,Tapper has picked two tracks that he feels hapy to put alongside the album.

Van Damn closes out Refried & Tested 002 with 'Hit You', a bass driven cut that keeps the compilation's dancefloor energy running right to the last track.

The first release on Edition Hawara's new sublabel Hawara International is a record that leaves little room for ambiguity about its intended use. Produced by Takashi Shima of the band Piper and released as part of the Sun Tan Club series, "For Light Tanning" was designed to accompany the pursuit of the perfect summer tan. It came complete with tanning instructions and oil recommendations, and was the subject of a promotional partnership with Hawaiian Tropic. The music drifts between ambient, new age and lifestyle soundtrack genres, providing an elegant backdrop for beaches, pool parties and other seasonal activities. Having long been forgotten outside a small circle of collectors, the record now returns as an unusually thorough document of late-1980s leisure culture. Whether it actually improves the tanning process remains unverified.

Introduced to the richness of Brazilian music by Philippe Baden Powell, pianist Mathieu Bélis and double bassist Stéphane Dardour founded BSP PRODUCTIONS and formed the quintet Beyond Brazilian Stories, joined by saxophonist David Florsch, drummer Louis Bao Lao, and Äulne, vocalist and flutist.

Together, they revisit masterpieces by giants such as Milton Nascimento, Airto Moreira, Hermeto Pascoal, Dorival Caymmi, Edu Lobo and Moacir Santos, blending popular melodies with soaring instrumental passages.
The group also brings its own compositions, inspired by the vibrant energy of Brazilian music, creating a sound that is both authentic and innovative.

Type-303 is the project of Tampere-based Finnish producer, DJ and vinyl collector Dan Greijer. His releases for labels including Super Rhythm Trax, I Love Acid, Verrazzano, Zeitnot and 45 Live Records explore the connections between acid house, rave, early-'90s house and Balearic-influenced electronic music.

Enigmatic Dreams is Type-303’s first release on Cold Blow, a six-track 12" focused on the melodic and atmospheric side of classic electronic sounds. The release features Dr. Rhythm aka Mark Woollard, connecting Type-303’s production with the Cold Blow catalogue following the label’s previous compilation of Dr. Rhythm’s original 12"s, Hits The Vibes 91-92. Across the EP, Greijer draws from late-'80s acid, Italian dream house and early-'90s Balearic influences, using classic sounds including the Roland TB-303, 808 rhythms and M1-style piano tones.

Familiar. Usually reserved for things we think we know. A face, a place, a feeling, a record perhaps. Until, of course, they aren’t quite the same anymore. Or maybe you aren’t.
Jennifer’s debut album lives somewhere around there.
It’s a record about time, which is already a fairly ambitious subject considering nobody seems to have figured that one out yet. More specifically, it’s about what
time does to a person. The old versions, the new versions, and all the ones in between that you only notice when something suddenly brings them back. Someone you
haven’t seen in years. A room you used to know. A certain way the light falls. That sort of thing.

There’s a bit of a doppelgänger situation going on, too. Finding something completely new and somehow recognising it. Meeting yourself again without immediately realising who you’re talking to.
Which can be nice. Or strange. Usually both. The songs on Familiar sit comfortably with that contradiction. Looking backwards without wanting to go back. Missing things without necessarily wanting them
returned. Realising that people who once occupied most of your waking hours can become people whose address you don’t know. Meanwhile, some tiny, seemingly irrelevant detail from fifteen years ago remains perfectly intact.
Memory has its own filing system. Not a particularly sensible one.
Jennifer wrote a series of poems alongside the album. In them, familiarity appears in melting snow, rough coastlines, a kitchen already warm in the morning, somebody’s hands fitting into yours. Elsewhere she wonders about someone she
once knew everything about and now knows nothing about. They could live around the corner. They could live on another continent. They could, technically, be dead. Probably not. But that’s time for you.
Maybe Familiar is less about remembering who you were than realising you never entirely stopped being them. Things get added. Things disappear. Things come back looking slightly different.
And somehow, you recognise them.

SPF 50 returns to Bliss Point with Ett Inre Rum, a collection of pulsing, immersive techno, rounded out with a remix from renowned club synthesist Erik Luebs.

Recently enamored with the psychoacoustic power of drone, Ett Inre Rum finds SPF 50 pushing his sound deeper, heavier, and more psychedelic. With Ett Inre Rum, he explores sonics that connect internal states to the external spaces we inhabit, patiently building energy until the walls are stretching, the room is heaving, and the lines between inner and outer are thoroughly blurred.

Drawing inspiration from the natural world and culled from over a year of peak time live sets, Ett Inre Rum eschews dance floor tropes for a refreshing minimalism: club tracks as enveloping sonic environments, breathing deep as they propel forward through atmospheric washes, layered and manipulated to achieve peak emotional resonance.

Black Truffle is thrilled to announce a second volume of unheard concert performances from legendary Pakistani kyhal singer Salamat Ali Khan, recorded at Berlin’s Neue Nationalgalerie as part of the MetaMusik festival in 1974. Like the first volume, the immaculate recording by Michael Hönig (of krautrock legends Agitation Free) captures Khan performing a single extended raag in the company of Shaukat Hussein Khan on tabla and Hussein Bux Khan on harmonium. In addition to his stunningly inventive and moving vocal performance, Khan is heard accompanying himself on a specially tuned alpine zither (in place of the traditional swarmandal, an Indian style of zither). The lack of an underlying tanpura drone gives the music its characteristic floating quality, with the three instruments and voice masterfully dancing around one another as they sketch the outlines of this grand, 40-minute Raag Chandrakauns.

If anything, this epic performance of the late-night Raag Chandrakauns is even more seductively spacious and psychedelic than the music heard on the first volume. Obeying the traditional shape of Hindustani classical vocal music performance, a gradual rise in both pitch and rhythmic activity, the music hovers for twenty minutes in a reflective calm, the pulse only gently stated by the tabla while harmonium ornamentation and zither strums float by. In this meditative space, Khan gradually orients us to the contours of the raag, beginning with long notes at the bottom of his register. His improvisation at once builds with a stunningly firm sense of internal logic and seems liberated to explore every melodic and ornamental byway that comes up along the way. By the time we turn to the record’s second side, the music has grown into something far more frenetic, with virtuoso tabla passages at times occupying centre stage between Khan’s increasingly rhythmic melodic variations. Concluding with a sequence of unison tabla and voice passages of breathtaking complexity, the performance is met with rapturous applause. Arriving in a blue-toned variant of the first volume’s sleeve, with acclaimed musicologist Peter Pannke’s liner notes in the original German, Metamusik Festival Berlin ’74 Volume II is not to be missed. Essential listening not just for Hidustanti classic aficionados, but for anyone who needs reminding of the magic of collective music making in the moment.

KYSH returns to wax with its third vinyl release — another milestone in the label’s steadily growing catalogue. More than a year and a half into the journey, KYSH feels more in its element than ever, bringing together five names that represent both the label’s own extended family and fresh acts joining the ranks. All well-established and highly respected figures in the modern techno landscape, they deliver a sharp selection of contemporary club weapons. Kashpitzky opens with “Blush”, a raw, boomy cut where rough-edged rhythmics meet crisp modern production, channeling the spirit of industrial techno at its best. “Tarmac” by Regent follows with a dense, restless groove, while Chontane’s “Gyuto” dives into hypnotic territory, layering rhythmic elements around subtle dissonant melodies. On the flipside, Temudo & Pierce join forces for the threatening, aggressively contemporary “Highest Clarity Grade”, balancing intricate sound design between rhythm and atmosphere. Closing comes GCOD with “Sleeper Agent” — dancing sub bass, a striking hook and a relentless hi-hat groove keeping the weight firmly down low. Another strong statement on wax, KYSH-003 confirms the label’s vinyl output as a mark of quality, with five floor-tested cuts drawing from a fresh, current take on the industrial influences that shaped techno a decade ago. A new lineup, a distinct direction, and five tracks ready to speak for themselves on a proper soundsystem.

Between the late 1960s and the mid-1980s, an informal community of musicians across the Dutch Caribbean islands of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten created music that crossed stylistic boundaries. For nearly three decades, they shared stages and ideas across islands, forming a close-knit network shaped by common histories and identities, while rarely receiving wider recognition. Their recordings were released locally, often in small runs, and many were never properly archived. As a result, much of this music, and the stories it carries, faded from view. Antiyano Progresivo is dedicated to these artists, many of whom were well known locally, but whose more unconventional music remained largely unheard.

De Kloe: their name is as hard to explain as the music they channel from a total oddball universe. Rumour has it a wormhole sits hidden between the beer crates and a broken dartboard in the basement of the DPG Media building in Antwerp. Leon Jespers, Elian Van den Eynde and Midas Heuvinck stepped through and came back with De Kloe’s first full-length album.

Needless to say, De Kloe operates in the cracks - splicing obscure samples, fractured lyrics, jagged basslines, and serrated guitar riffs into something volatile and alive. Club rhythms pulse underneath, but nothing stays in place for long. Tracks mutate, structures dissolve, and both live and on record the band leans into instinct over control.

After the singles ‘Our House’ & ‘The Fish’ the trio finally presents their debut album ‘Vanity Fair’: more extravaganza tunes you didn’t know you need it, but soon will be addicted to.

A place where pop music collides with dubbed out samplemania, short sharp no wave riffs, sun-gazing psychedelica, 90’s indie sleaze, post everything vibes and endless sonic fun & happiness.

Some people would say Vanity Fair is a musical exploration of glossy machinery, the dacay of celebrity and a secret wink to John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress where
everything is on display and nothing is quite what it seems.

Other will say ‘Vanity Fair’ is a splendid record with 12 marvelous songs you just have to listen to and buy it because your life will only gets better from then on.

DPRTNDRP make a long-awaited return to Infernal Sounds with 'Byrnei', a release that's been quietly building anticipation across the 140 scene. Following their acclaimed 'What Ya Mean' EP in 2020, the duo are back with five heavyweight cuts that showcase exactly why they've remained one of dubstep's most respected production outfits for well over a decade.

Opening with the title track, 'Byrnei' wastes no time setting the tone. Rolling with DPRTNDRP's unmistakable swing, weight and groove, it's a certified soundsystem weapon - built to lock dancers into its hypnotic rhythm while delivering devastating low-end pressure.

Next up, 'Jiaozi' shifts into overdrive. A relentless barrage of razor-sharp percussion, cavernous basslines and seismic energy, it's an uncompromising slice of peak-time dubstep designed to hit with maximum impact from the first drop to the last.

'Fury' explores a deeper side of the duo's sound, drawing influence from their dub-focused alias, D-Operation Drop. Rich in space, texture and heavyweight sonics, it perfectly blurs the line between traditional dub and modern 140, combining meditative atmospherics with chest-rattling low-end.

Adding another dimension to the EP, Causa steps in to rework 'Fury', twisting the original into a hypnotic, distorted roller. Layered with his unmistakable wobble-heavy aesthetic, the remix pushes the track into darker territory, delivering an immersive journey of oppressive bass weight and razor-sharp sound design.

Bringing the release to a thunderous close, 'Backfire' is pure, uncompromising pressure. Stripped back, direct and devastatingly effective, it's arguably the heaviest moment on the EP; a no-nonsense soundsystem destroyer that leaves a lasting impression.

From start to finish, 'Byrnei' is a statement of intent. It's a masterclass in weight, groove and precision, reinforcing DPRTNDRP's status as true innovators within the 140 landscape. With five expertly crafted cuts destined for dancefloors and soundsystems worldwide, this is another landmark release from two producers operating firmly at the top of their game.

Energy Exchange Ensemble follow-up on the acclaimed 'Vol.1' continuing the legacy of label-curated studio sessions by in-house production duo, Lewis Moody and Ziggy Zeitgeist.

Offering a unique take on the 'Various Artist' compilation in the sense that the production team have enlisted an A list of players in informal jam sessions, gracefully guiding the sessions into their own unique brand of dancefloor and spiritual jazz.

In the spirit of cultural exchange and spontaneity the sessions are gathered over the course of a few years between Berlin, London and Melbourne. Naturally boasting a long list of collaborators including Erica Tucceri (Deep Matter), King Owusu (Jembaa Groove), Oscar Jerome, Hurcules (Kokoroko), Nathan Haines (ChilliFunk records) to name a few.

This is a unique and creative setting for the duo to explore a more intimate and exploratory approach in the studio further cementing their reputation as a dynamic and innovative team in contemporary jazz crossover.

Hailing from Paris, Wonderkidz reveals their very first Various Artists compilation, a project featuring exclusively producers from the Parisian scene. Through this compilation, the collective spotlights a new generation of artists who share a common vision of electronic music, while asserting an identity deeply rooted in the capital.

Spanning house, tech house, and minimal, the tracks explore different facets of contemporary club culture while maintaining a distinctly Parisian flair. Each track reflects the energy, diversity, and creativity of a constantly evolving local scene.

This debut release naturally centers on artists close to the collective, in keeping with the philosophy Wonder Kidz has upheld since its inception: building bridges between the talents in its circle, showcasing producers with whom it shares a history, a vision, or a common artistic sensibility, and providing a platform for expression to a vibrant independent scene.

Thursday, 2025. Philadelphia. South Philly, to be precise. A basement, to be even more precise. And not just any basement, but the subterranean headquarters of Zillas On Acid.

Which is where Roman Flügel found himself, presumably with good intentions. Some time before that, he had decided to wake Sister Midnight from its slumber.
But rather than simply carrying on where things had left off, a new idea was needed. Enter Sister Midnight Special Products: a new series dedicated to collaborations, chance encounters and other musical situations that deserve to become records.

No grand manifesto, no five-year plan. Just making music with people you like, in places you happen to find yourself, and seeing what happens. Special Product 01 is “Conga Dream,” born from a basement jam with Zillas On Acid and apparently unwilling to behave itself ever since.

Three musical free spirits meet somewhere between the basement, the dancefloor and the more pleasantly confused corners of the mind. Club music is involved, certainly, but functionality has been politely asked to wait outside. Instead: pocketprotector synthesizers, a little E-mu Proteus 3, assorted electronic activity and, as advertised, congas.

The result is less a tool than a small trip. Or perhaps a tool for taking small trips.
Either way, it works.

Zillas On Acid put it like this:
“A basement jam deep beneath the streets of Zilladelphia yields surprising results: pocket protector synths, a dash of E-mu Proteus 3, and yes of course the aforementioned congas.”

And with that, Sister Midnight Special Products is officially open for business.

The STAMPO quest continues with the fifth release on the label. Heading up the release is Italian hero, DJ Rou, known for his diverse, and vast record collection he lands here with four tracks traversing between multiple moods to make you move. A charming intensity pours out of the tracks in the “Handz Up” EP, as a legend steps up to share his sound. A simple concept, each artist that releases on the label is represented with a stamp on the record, letting the music make its mark.

This is the reissue of original 1993 Rephlex double vinyl album, completely remastered from DATs by Beau Thomas, with the original artwork, and photography by Richard James. µ-Ziq's Tango N'Vectif was released in 1993, a classic year for auteurist electronic music that didn't always fit on the dancefloor. Written by Mike Paradinas in his late teens with some help from Frank Naughton, it still stands up really well today and its influence on electronic music in the decades since is obvious. Across an expanse of ideas, taking influences from early Aphex, Detroit Techno and UK Hardcore, Mike created this spirited, funky, jerry-rigged, lo-fi version of rave; with crunchy drums and a knack for melody that fell somewhere between John Barry and classic TV themes. Without owning a computer, Mike had been writing techno, house and industrial tracks on and off since 1990, playing live keys alongside drum machine rhythms on his 4-track recorder. µ-Ziq started when Mike linked up with Frank who was also writing dance-influenced music, and importantly owned an Atari 1040ST computer with Cubeat software. They pooled their equipment and Mike would travel up to Frank's house a couple of miles away in Wimbledon to record together. By 1992, and after a false start when a proposed EP for Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton's Evolution label got shelved, Mike had started at Kingston University where he deejayed and met like-minded people including a couple of guys who knew Aphex Twin who was also a student at Kingston too, and they passed Aphex a demo of Mike's material. A few days later Mike got a message from his mum to 'call Aphex Twin' and he gave Mike some advice, and seemed interested in releasing something. So when Frank and his family went on holiday that summer Mike borrowed his Atari and synths and wrote the majority of the Tango N'Vectif album during that 2 weeks. By the end of 1992 a release with Aphex Twin and Grant Wilson Claridge's Rephlex label had been agreed - Aphex had moved to the house in Clissold Crescent where he recorded a lot of his early classic albums and Mike went over to collect his advance, in the form of his very own Atari computer.

The third expedition is archived to wax...and what are its actual findings?

Why do we keep dancing in dark basements and out between the trees? Is it genetics?
Can we see what hides before our eyes? Or can we see better with them closed?

This expedition brings as many questions as definitive answers, and we will keep on searching.

The four-track EP “Invaders, Qu'est-ce que c'est?” blends dark electro-house elements with cloudy live improvisations, created for the Turin and European underground club scene. The composer duo was born from the meeting between Viziale, a DJ & Producer, and the multidisciplinary composer Barabbah.
After connecting through Italia90®, they began collaborating on new music and launched a new label linked to the clothing brand; the 30x30 cm poster by Woc, included in the vinyl release, is a proof of the contemporary image aim of the label.


NB: The Lps are made with 100% regenerated plastic, totally green and respectful for the world and 100% compatible with the standard of the pure material.

Nearly two years after "Superpaesaggio," Futureslowdubdisco rematerializes with a new album rooted in deconstructed rhythms, suspended atmospheres, minimalism, emotional tension, and ethnic echoes. Simone Ticconi and Francesco Colagrande, true explorers of sound, first delve into dark and shadowy ravines ("Shaman"), then descend into ocean depths ("Wendigo"), and make their way through impenetrable forests ("Natureconnection"), finally reaching the slopes of an active volcano ("Manitou").
The adventurous journey is rounded out with two more danceable remixes by Virtual Reality and Adelmo.
The crowning achievement is the artwork created by Awer, which pairs with the previous work by Flavia Mastrella.

FUTURESLOWDUBDISCO is a project born from the meeting of producers Simone Ticconi and Francesco Colagrande. The duo explores sonic territories that combine downtempo, minimal techno, and dub. A blend of deep and hypnotic atmospheres, capable of moving between the contemplative dimension of listening and the pulsating energy of club culture, for an unforgettable rhythmic, ethereal, and psychedelic journey.

The prescriptive art and performance of Berlin based, French producer, Julienne Dessagne, has concluded with a starkly beautiful reimagining of Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game.

As Fantastic Twins, her continuing creative manifestation for music and performance, has released an array of electronic art for the body and mind. A sonic exploration of dual characters shaped through experimental pop, cinematic electronics and the outer edges of techno.

First appearing on the cult Hippie Dance label, before establishing a long and warm collaboration with Keith McIvor aka JD Twitch and his inspiring Optimo Music label, as well as her own House Of Slessor label, this release comes full of mythology and symbolism.
Immersive sound design, narrative tension, and emotionally charged atmospheres, the origin of the project – Wicked Game (Trinity Version) – was composed for a live performance at the Beta Biennale Of Architecture Of Timișoara in September 2024 and given a limited digital release soon after.

The impact on the artist and the music was multi-layered:

‘While recording this cover, images of the Trinity nuclear test, as reimagined by David Lynch in Twin Peaks (Season 3 / Episode 8) kept resurfacing, almost on a subliminal level, suggesting another wicked game: humanity’s love affair with science and technology, driven by the same mix of desire fascination and inevitability that animates Chris Isaak’s original song.’

Approached by Emotional Response, this updated “vinyl” edition is re-recorded / remastered and comes with new interpretations by Julienne herself, as well as remixes by Aho Ssan and Optimo (Espacio).
