fabric Records has enlisted Turkish-Italian DJ and producer Carlita for the next instalment of its prestigious mix compilation series, ‘fabric presents’. Set for full release on April 11, fabric presents Carlita will showcase her meticulous curation, featuring two new original tracks.

The double vinyl sampler features eight full length tracks taken from Carlita’s mix. Her two exclusives ‘Raf’ and ‘Stop Now’ are cut to A1 and C1 respectively.
The two black vinyl plates are 140g and are packaged in black inners, inside a matt printed reverse board printed sleeve. The vinyl package accompanies the CD, digital download and streaming of fabric presents Carlita mixed compilation across all major platforms on 11th April 2025.

The announcement of Carlita’s mix arrives alongside the release of the first single, “Raf,” a collaboration with Toronto producer Andre Zimmer, out now via fabric Records. “Raf” is a high-energy fusion of classic house and rave influences, crafted with the dancefloor in mind. The track pairs infectious, soulful vocal elements with punchy synth stabs and rolling breakbeats, all anchored by a deep, groovy tech-house bassline. “Raf,” along with an additional original from Carlita, “Stop Now,” is nestled among storied house and techno juggernauts such as Butch, Alex Metric, and Paco Osuna, as well as rising underground producers Prunk, Toman, Alinka, and more.

Beyond the club and festival circuit, Carlita is a leading figure at the intersection of music and fashion. She’s been featured in British Vogue and on the cover of Vogue Italia, performed at exclusive events for Louis Vuitton, Versace, and Fendi, and curated performances featuring The Blessed Madonna and Heron Preston at her own multi-sensory Senza Fine parties. Most recently, she collaborated with Audemars Piguet to mark the release of her debut album, Sentimental.

Carlita (real name Carla Frayman) comes from a background of musical mastery, having played classical cello for the Royal Academy of Music in London in her earlier years (after learning to play piano at age 3). Since her earliest memories, Frayman has never stopped developing her musical talent, picking up more instruments, learning music theory, and after university, saving up enough money to pursue it full time. She hasn’t stopped chasing her dreams and is now playing high-profile DJ slots (check out her Cercle set at Cinecittà in Rome), and has quickly risen as a producer with her phenomenal debut album Sentimental on Ninja Tune last year, as well as remixes for Disclosure and RÜFÜS DU SOL.

Coming up, Carlita be performing at festivals and clubs in Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Germany, and many more. On April 12, celebrating her fabric presents release, Carlita will be taking over Room 2 at fabric alongside Jennifer Loveless, Tommy Gold, and Pedrose.

A Chaos Of Flowers is an album that builds on their ferocious 2023 album nature morte. BIG|BRAVE"s music has been described as massive minimalism. Their fusillades of textural distortion and feedback emphasize their music"s frayed edges as much as its all-encompassing weight. The potency of the trio"s work is their singular artistry combining elements of traditional folk techniques and a modern deconstruction of guitar music. Gain, feedback, and amplitude are essential. For A Chaos Of Flowers guitarist/vocalist Robin Wattie drew heavily on the poems of artists whom Wattie found kinship in, their words resonant with experiences of those often sidelined by cultural norms. "I discovered that most poems from folk traditions or in the public domain seem to be by men - to which I could not quite relate. In my search, I rediscovered some of my favorite works and poets," says Wattie. Guitarist Mathieu Ball and drummer Tasy Hudson help Wattie shape poetry into pieces as dense and impenetrable as they are vulnerable. BIG|BRAVE achieve their colossal sound through minimalist approaches, a deft understanding of dynamics and an inventive employment of percussion and distortion. The trio reconceptualize what it is to be heavy or minimal, challenging perceptions with their illumination of painfully overlooked perspectives. Guest guitarist Marisa Anderson lends earthen, blues-inflected atmospheres to the album, where guitarist Tashi Dorji and saxophonist Patrick Shiroishi amplify the squall. Working closely with frequent collaborator and producer/engineer Seth Manchester, the internal tumult of Wattie"s voice rings out in warbles, haunting echoes, and unearthly harmonies across bold immense walls of distortion. BIG|BRAVE have collaborated with metal monsters The Body on a previous Thrill Jockey release, Leaving None But Small Birds, and have toured internationally with bands like SUMAC, Godspeed You! One of the cult acts of the heyday of London clubland in the early 1990s, the Ballistic Brothers consisted of later-X-Press 2 members Ashley, Rocky and Diesel, alongside David Hill and Uschi Clansen. After the success of underground smash ‘Blacker’ and ‘vs. Eccentric Afros Vol. 1’, The Ballistic Brothers returned with the second volume of their sampledelic good times with ‘Vol. 2’. The group came armed with years of dance floor expertise, and record making acumen, and delivered a further 8 tracks of good time funky grooves.

The opener ‘Delancey Street…The Theme’ paid tribute to their Camden-based record label and was an immediate anthem, while ‘Goodvibes…Goodnight’ was an irresistible mash-up. Elsewhere are jazz, funk, reggae influences and images of the streets of New York.

Mudd has been trying to sign this for well over a year now, orginally only available on cd from Blackbelt's album on Full Pupp, it's been given the 12'' release with both original and ambient mixes. The original is a slow chugging house monster, softened by beautiful pads and synths that drop in and out but never let the pace die. He began his career as a teenager, trading art and lyrics with close friends. After releasing his first projects, international recognition came quickly and his network of Stockholm innovators soon arrived at the vanguard of a new era in music culture.

Looming above Hastings on the South Coast of the UK, carved into East Hill, three black shapes are visible from a distance. Mysterious and ominous, they assume the aspect of the entrance to a church or a portal to dimensions unknown. Closer inspection however reveals them to be no more than mere follies carved and painted into the rock, as hoaxster John Coussens sought to convince visitors that an elaborate subterranean kingdom lurked within. Centuries later, this coastal town remains a place that serves as a magnet to the wyrd and the mischievous. And it’s here that the meeting of minds took place that led to 'Folly' - the second release for Rocket’s Black Hole series - an imprint focused on the unorthodox, otherworldly and esoteric. The journey that led to ‘Folly’ began in the dingy cellar of a wine bar in the town. Black Arches formed around a regular local experimental night in such environs aptly named Weird Shit, initially as a freeform musical outlet for author and musician Gareth E. Rees’ later incorporating Matt Frost from his garage rock troupe The Dirty Contacts, and frequent collaborator James Weaver, to form a vehicle for wild experimentation and psychic abandon. Given he was also a regular attendee, it was no surprise when Sexton Ming, arch maverick outsider artist and uncompromising iconoclast of over four decades standing, entered the picture. Soon after a perplexing but serendipitous chain of events took place, with demons conjured up via improvised sessions, poetic licence taken, dystopias chronicled, audio files gone awry, vocals overdubbed and laptops lost, Somehow amidst the sturm-und-drang ‘Folly’ was summoned in all its murky glory. As we embark on the second quarter of an uncertain century, just maybe this psychic travelogue is a dark prism to make sense of the chaos we confront. Lael Neale's minimalist drone pop draws inspiration from the Transcendentalists, the alienation of modern life, and a rich array of musical influences-ranging from Dionne Warwick and John Lennon to primitive American gospel and Spacemen 3. Her expansive new record, Altogether Stranger, due May 2, was written and recorded in the early morning quiet of Los Angeles. Clocking in at just 32 minutes, the 9-song LP covers an unexpected breadth of musical and lyrical terrain-from garage rock nursery rhymes and creation myths to Motorik dance dirges and solitary Omnichord meditations. A brilliant lyricist, Neale has a unique ability to uncover the extraordinary within the mundane, tackling themes of polarity that recur throughout her work-country vs. city, humanity vs. technology, isolation vs. society. This album is her third collaboration with producer Guy Blakeslee who helps expand the tonal palette while staying true to Neale's commitment to the raw immediacy and hand-made intimacy of home recording. Altogether Stranger - a stunning album filled with dreamlike reverie, Neale's crystalline voice, and echoes of the Velvet Underground - was conceived after four years of oscillating between rural solitude and urban chaos. While she may not have been able to reconcile these opposing states, Altogether Stranger represents an ambitious breakthrough for this singular, self-sufficient artist.

Karpenters, the latest album from Kool Keith, produced by Grant Shapiro, stays true to the essence of Hip-Hop: boom bap beats, clever samples, and heavyweight guest features. Hip-Hop legends like Tash (Tha Alkaholiks) and Marc Live (Analog Brothers/Black Elvis) add to the project, complementing Kool Keith’s signature eccentric flow.

This marks Kool Keith’s first official album since the cult classic Black Elvis 2—a long-awaited release for dedicated fans. The album boasts mixing by J-Styles (Keith’s in-house engineer) and mastering by Grammy winner Steve “Steve B” Baughman, ensuring top-tier sound quality.

Aber Children of Eve wäre nicht Nightfall, wenn sie nicht auch eine tiefere Botschaft hätten. Während "The Cannibal" vor göttlichem Tremolo-Picking nur so strotzt, geht es im Text darum, wie religiöse Strukturen und Fanatismus einen verschlingen können. "I hold the power / to explain your screams", heult Efthimis mit abschreckender Intensität.

Rhiannon Giddens trifft ihren ehemaligen Bandkollegen von den Carolina Chocolate Drops, Justin Robinson, wieder auf „What Did the Blackbird Say to the Crow“, einem Album mit Fiddle- und Banjomusik aus North Carolina. Das von Giddens und Joseph „Joebass“ DeJarnette produzierte Album präsentiert Giddens am Banjo und Robinson an der Fiddle. Das Duo spielt achtzehn seiner Lieblingsstücke aus North Carolina: eine Mischung aus Instrumentalstücken und Textstücken.


Viele Stücke wurden von ihrem verstorbenen Mentor, dem legendären Piedmont-Musiker Joe Thompson aus North Carolina, gelernt; eines stammt von einer anderen Musiklegende, der verstorbenen Etta Baker, von der sie ebenfalls durch das Anhören von Aufnahmen ihres Spiels lernten. Giddens und Robinson nahmen im Freien in Thompsons und Bakers Häusern in North Carolina sowie auf der ehemaligen Plantage Mill Prong House auf. Begleitet wurden sie von Naturgeräuschen, darunter zwei verschiedene Zikadenschwärme, die seit 1803 nicht mehr gleichzeitig aufgetaucht waren und so eine einzigartige Klanglandschaft schufen.

Mit einem Dutzend wilder und gefeierter Alben seit Daemon Qui Fecit Terram (1996) praesentiert Hate mit dem dreizehnten Album Bellum Regiis ein noch kuehneres und aggressiveres Klangbild als je zuvor. Die neun Songs von Bellum Regiis zeigen, wie Saenger und Gitarrist ATF Sinner, Gitarrist Domin, Schlagzeuger Nar-Sil und Bassist Tiermes einen modernen Sound mit unheimlicher Atmosphaere und Tiefe formen. Produziert wurde das Album von David Castillo (Candlemass, Carcass, Dark Tranquility, Katatonia) in den Grondahl Studios in Stockholm. Textlich ist Bellum Regiis ein persoenlicheres, mehr auf die Menschheit fokussiertes Album als Rugia. Die Songs, so Gruendungsmitglied Sinner, sind eine aktuelle klangliche und visuelle Auseinandersetzung mit dem "Kampf um Macht und allem, was damit einhergeht."Hate, gegruendet 1990 in Warschau, wird als "Inbegriff von Konstanz" gefeiert und als "glatte und praezise Death-Metal-Maschine" gelobt. Seit dem 2017er Album Tremendum hat sich die Band thematisch auf die Natur und ihre Mysterien konzentriert. Wie Sinner erklaert: "Egal ob die Natur in uns, um uns herum oder aus der Ferne betrachtet - die daraus gewonnenen Perspektiven und ihre Verbindung zu verschiedenen uebergeordneten Themen haben jedes Album gepraegt." So behandelte etwa Auric Gates of Veles (2019) den Tod - insbesondere die slawische Sichtweise darauf. Sechs Jahre spaeter widmet sich Bellum Regiis der Menschheit selbst und der Frage, warum wir als Wesen so tief durch Konzepte wie Macht, Reichtum, Ruhm und Glauben motiviert sind. Das zentrale Thema ist der Kampf um Macht und alles, was damit verbunden ist.Daher auch der Albumtitel Bellum Regiis, was uebersetzt "Krieg der Koenige" oder "Koeniglicher Krieg" bedeutet. Sinner stellt sich die grossen Fragen rund um Macht - macht uns deren Erreichung abartig oder sind wir es von Natur aus? Der Titelsong bildet das Leitmotiv des Albums. "Als Song besitzt Bellum Regiis sowohl eine tiefe Melancholie als auch eine gewisse Erhabenheit", sagt Sinner. "Der Gesang von Eliza Sacharczuk (eine bekannte Saengerin und Gesangslehrerin, die ein ganzheitliches Kunstzentrum in Bialystok leitet) verleiht dem Lied ein starkes Zeitgefuehl. Ob das nun Nostalgie, Rueckblick, Reue oder Vorbereitung auf die Zukunft ist, liegt im Auge des Betrachters. Norman Blake, Bernard Butler und James Grant sind drei der bekanntesten und angesehensten Musiker ihrer Generation. Norman ist die treibende Kraft von Teenage Fanclub, Bernard ist bekannt für seine Soloarbeit und Produktionen mit Suede und James für seine Soloarbeit und Love And Money. Nach einigen sehr gut aufgenommenen Shows, bei denen das Trio eine Auswahl der Songs der anderen spielte, kam das Kollektiv wieder zusammen, um neues Material zu schreiben. Die daraus resultierende Platte ist ein wahres Vergnügen; jeder der Jungs singt abwechselnd mit sympathischem Input seiner Mitspieler. Sweden was a well-known scene for some of the best garage rock bands emerging in the 80s. The Backdoor Men may have been the most brilliant example of them all with the amazing vocalist Robert Jelinek, also known for his achievements with The Creeps. During a few years The Backdoor Men released some of the most epic jangly garage/pop/folk there was, decades before bands like The Hives. On this definite compilation everything is included – the singles, the cassettes, the demos. Enjoy a piece of 60s style dance blast.

The Crippled Flower was a post-punk band from Düsseldorf - and they arrived late. However, unlike many young, unsuspecting, hairsprayed hopefuls from that time, in 1985 they could sense that the end of their era was approaching. They knew too much to want to take the world by storm. They were four individualists searching their own way. Each of the band members only found their calling after the time that they had spent together – but that's exactly what makes The Crippled Flower still seem really interesting today, this static energy that does not discharge, but is simply there.

Searching dreamers should sound like that and that's what they were. Singer Phil Elston, for example, had brought his love of Kraftwerk from England to Düsseldorf. Even his bandmates found this strange, but they were also entangled in their own longings. This is because the times were still so crazy and these searchers were "on fire". A fire that glows in the band's recordings.

Listening to the songs today, The Crippled Flower sound like they are hugely at the height of their game; think of Wire, Felt, Scritti Politti or Minimal Compact. The variety of musical themes, as well as different soundscapes, which the band created can only be listened to in amazement. Often, it is only Phil Elston's Sprechgesang that confirms that this is really the same band. However, it was back in 1985 when, importantly, the catalyst that brought the musicians together - the short lived eclectic record store "Heartbeat" in Düsseldorf Bilk - occured. It was there where post-industrial and pop, melodic minimal music and sound attacks awaited those who wanted to discover music by artists and bands they did not yet know.

Cassette releases. All recorded on 4-Track. The Crippled Flower succeeded in this medium. Firstly, with a cassette just entited The Crippled Flower, working from project-like studio recorded sketches. Four more tracks from the short-lived band appeared in 1986 on "A Heartbeat Rendezvous“. A demo tape submitted to Les Disques du Crépuscule, however, did not lead to a worldwide career and so, unfortunately, it was soon over.

Stefan Krausen moved on to the follow-up project Deux Baleines Blanches with Stefan Schneider, which, in 1994, gave rise to the band Kreidler. Krausen was already drumming with the I-Burnettes on AtaTak and much later he studied painting in Munich. Nina Ahlers moved from Düsseldorf to Paris to study art, because in the 80s it was still the case that Paris was the destination of choice for those really wanting to become an artist – and that's what she did. Her work is characterized by a non-academic minimalism focusing on everyday objects. Stefan Schneider remained connected to music. Only Phil Elston, who helped sabotage fox hunts in England and wrote these observant lyrics about environmental destruction and time travel, seems to have escaped the social-media world. Whether he found Kraftwerk-fulfilment in Düsseldorf or moved on disillusioned remains a mystery to us.  HOME?' is a heartfelt tribute to what Wretch 32 calls home, exploring the complexities, questions, and deep connections that come with it. The artwork, shot at the heart of his origins the very Tiverton estate where it all began - paints a rich tapestry of the inspiration taken from his Caribbean roots and the Windrush Scandal, encapsulating a raw slice of the Black British experience. Centering on belonging, place and identity as well as themes of love, life and loss, the album features words from his father and uncle who became community activists after the Tottenham Riots.

Hate, who formed in Warsaw in 1990, have been hailed as a “hallmark of consistency,” and praised as a “sleek and tight death metal monster.” Since 2017’s Tremendum, Hate has focused on nature and its mysteries as a main source of inspiration. For instance, 2019’s Auric Gates of Veles focused on death, the Slavic perception of death in particular. Six years later, Bellum Regiis finds Hate delving into “humanity and why are we, as creatures, so deeply motivated by concepts like power, wealth, glory and faith. The main theme is a struggle for power and everything that comes with it.” Hence the album title Bellum Regiis, which translates to "A War of Royalty" or "A War of Kings."

Bjorn Riis' new album Fimbulvinter is a profound and deeply personal work.
