Massimiliano Pagliara celebrates 20 years of music production with a special anniversary compilation on Funnuvojere. The release brings together solo productions and collaborations spanning a rich and abundant period that began when Pagliara acquired his first analogue machines, five years after moving to Berlin from Milan, where he worked as a professional dancer and choreographer.

The compilation features 20 previously unreleased tracks, deeply infused with italo grooves, wonky bass-lines, balearic pads, drama, love, sex, and dreams. These tracks evoke a wide spectrum of moments, ranging from intimate, pleasure-driven home listening to full-blown dance-floor euphoria. Throughout the compilation, one can feel Pagliara’s enthusiasm for discovery—his excitement in encountering new machines and immediately putting them to work.

Pagliara’s sonic identity is unmistakable, present in every track and in the compilation as a whole. Since launching in 2018, Innate has been synonymous with cultured techno and now, finally, we get to hear from co-founder Gilbert with his first full release on the label. overdue. The Bristol producer delivers three originals rooted in electro futurism, deep house emotion and Detroit lineage. 'Passage Of Time' rolls with acid detail and warm chords, while 'We Are All Made of Stars' leans into melancholic melody and gentle propulsion. 'Natural Dimension' pushes outward with driving rhythms and shimmering motifs. The remixes are on point too - Nuron reshapes 'Furthest Planet' into raw, emotive electro, while Apiento and Diego Herrera rework 'We Are All Made of Stars' into hazy, analogue proto-house.

Ekkel guides Earth Dog to The Destination, a four-pronged psychedelic clinic in the finest Nordic electronic tradition.

Co-founder of Norway’s Ute collective, celebrated Oslo-based producer and DJ Ekkel revels in prog naturalis. Previous releases as Alvar and Shadowmages, his duo with S.O.N.S., perfected this tripped-out sound with a heavy emphasis on melody. Following last year’s celebrated appearance at an Earth Dog rave in Brooklyn, he returns to grace the crew’s fourteenth release with The Destination.

Opener Questions About Mindcontrol awakens the discordant synapses, an entanglement of melodies and rhythm with a certain progressive attitude. Home Or In A Dream (Miami Morning Mix) properly ascends with trance-like wonder and ecstatic lucidity, before So Quiet returns to dusk with a tek-no throb and acidic bite. Destination G concludes with a nocturnal shimmer, an unrelenting groove caught in its own hypnosis ‘til the finale.

Mr. YT returns!

The cult deep house alias of Yuji Takenouchi was last seen on Brand New Day in 2017, which compiled a series of soft scenes and deepest soulful house for the ambient techno predator R&S and its Apollo, Generations and Global Cuts sub-labels across the mid-to-late 90s. Quietly and confidently some of the most beautiful house music ever made.

So it's a thrill to announce the Universo EP today on Short Span, and to say that he’s still making incredible new dance music in his studio. This is the first Mr. YT record of brand new material in twenty eight years.

The lushness springs forth as delightfully as ever. The inspirations of Detroit chords floating and interacting with a certain kind of Japanese plasticity and futurism. Crystal clear blue skies, sweet perfume and space race optimism, touched with a gentle wistfulness. The four tracks are each as beautiful and intricately deep musically as they are colourful and buoyed by energy. Ready to delight you.

Universo has some new purpose and drive up front, designed and deployed as his most propulsive dance music as Mr. YT. The tempo is taken up, and tracks frequently break out into virtuosic melody that dances across the pieces. Yuji’s talent for composition that hits as hard as it effortlessly glides hasn’t lost its edge in the quarter century plus break. The kick of “Acuario” and “Escorpio” are finely balanced with the influences of jazz and something a little more padded and cosmic. You could mix these into something by Los Hermanos or Ian O’Brien.

The EP bubbles down to a more yearning, sunsetting ambient house on the B side. The instantly recognisable language of classic Mr. YT, a warm and tender place.

Mr. YT has been absent a while, but Yuji’s busy. He’s established a long career as a musician and sound designer within the Japanese videogaming industry, having his hand in games including FromSoftware’s Dark Souls series surely adds something widescreen and sharply emotionally focused to the direction of his dance music. His Missing Project alias also got some shine from the stellar Music From Memory Virtual Dreams II compilation in 2024, which once again pinned down his enduring importance within the ambient techno movement of Japan. He’s also regularly working with Tokyo’s FORM@ Records and regularly self-publishing interesting work and studio versions. And his Missingsoul alias is still some of the most beautiful deep jazz-house committed to wax on Ron Trent’s Future Vision label. Check it all out!

DCTL Members is a unit formed by Masafumi Onishi, aka TELLY, the label owner of Troop Music Works, and DJ DUCT, who is renowned for his turntable skills that span a wide range of genres, from Hip Hop and Rare Groove Funk to Detroit Techno and Deep House. For this upcoming EP, they feature Shu Suzuki, a multi-instrumentalist who lends his versatile talents to the project.
This time, by blending musical instruments with the raw warmth of analogue gear and rough, sampler-and-rhythm-machine-driven sequences, the sound has evolved into something even more energetic and full of DIY spirit.

Sun Ra is better known to most as a musician than a poet, but he identified equally as both. My Words Are Music provides direct access to the sentiments of a poet who never called Earth home. The spoken word album hosts an inspired array of artists who personally chose their favorite Sun Ra poems to recite. Freed from the page, his poetry acquires an unexpected simplicity and poignance it possessed all along.

This all-star and intergenerational lineup of artists conjure wisdom from his words: spoken word elder Abiodun Oweyole of The Last Poets; rapper, and singer-songwriter Saul Williams; jazz experimentalist Melanie Charles; British-Trinidadian poet, novelist and musician Anthony Joseph; poet Mahogany L. Browne; poet, playwright, and conceptual artist Carl Hancock Rux; musician/digital composer L’Rain; singer, actor, and director Tunde Adibempe of TV on the Radio singer; British DJ and BBC radio host Zakia Sewell; ballistic hip-hop poet Jive Poetic; and longtime members of the Sun Ra Arkestra, Marshall Allen, Knoel Scott, and Tara Middleton.

Punctuated by impish electronic interludes composed and played by Marshall Allen, these voices bless Sun Ra’s poetry with new life My Words Are Music offers the opportunity to follow Sun Ra into a
better future. “Prepare for the journey,” he writes in his poem “The Cosmic Age”, “You have a rendezvous / With the living wisdom.” My Words Are Music is a project developed in conjunction with Living Sky, the all-instrumental Sun Ra Arkestra album released on Omni Sound in 2022

Following his previous appearances on Figure, French producer Arkan returns with Mad Race, a four-track EP that further sharpens his distinct vision of mental techno. Balancing hypnotic restraint with driving intensity, the release finds the artist navigating deeper into textured, immersive territory while maintaining a strong sense of propulsion throughout.

The title track Mad Race opens the record in forceful fashion, locking into a tightly wound groove as restless synth movements and looming atmospheres continuously build pressure around the rhythm section. Revival follows with a more spacious approach, letting emotive chords and swelling layers unfold gradually over a firm, rolling foundation, capturing a feeling of momentum suspended somewhere between tension and release.

On the flipside, Sawlim pushes further into trippy terrain. Dense percussion and spiralling effects interact with pulsing low-end pressure to create a heads-down club tool filled with subtle movement and detail. Closing track Interlude shifts the focus once more, exploring a more restrained and introspective mood through cavernous textures and hypnotic repetition while still holding onto the EP's underlying drive.

Digital bonus track Make You Horny rounds out the package with a rawer and more playful energy, bringing punchy drums and jagged synth work together into a functional late-night workout.

With Mad Race, Arkan continues refining his own blend of deep, atmospheric and cerebral techno, further cementing his place within the evolving sound of Figure.

KiNK & Raredub launch new sub-label Raw on SHDW's Mutual Rytm with bold two-tracker 'You And Me', backed by a VIP remix of 'Time To Change' from Paul Woolford aka Special Request.

Following their standout debut on Spectra with 'Time To Change', Bulgaria's finest dance music export KiNK & Raredub return to the Mutual Rytm universe to launch the label's new sub-series: Mutual Rytm Raw. Their latest release, 'You And Me', marks the next step in their collaboration - two stripped-back yet anthemic cuts that embody their signature sound: "Rude Boy Techno", a fusion of techno's drive with the swing and grit of UK Garage. Both versions of 'You And Me' are built for the floor, combining sharp percussion, catchy vocal hooks, and powerful low-end pressure - minimal in structure but rich in character and groove.

Rounding off the release is a standout VIP remix from Paul Woolford aka Special Request - one of his infamous 'Variation in Production' versions - offering a stripped yet high-impact reinterpretation of KiNK & Raredub's previous single 'Time To Change'. Raw, rolling, and unmistakably shaped by his UK Garage-influenced style.

BBE Music’s celebrated J Jazz compilation series reaches its fifth and final volume in early 2026, culminating in a track list that maintains the exceptionally high standard first set with volume one back in 2018. This final volume features a selection of tracks that is as diverse as it is deep, reflecting the rich and varied Japanese jazz scene that spanned from the late 1960s to the late 1980s, a golden era of innovation and creativity. J Jazz volume 5 sees compilers Tony Higgins and Mike Peden dig ever deeper into their respective record collections to reveal tracks that encompass myriad styles including white hot jazz funk fusion from Toshiyuki Honda (Eastern Legacy) and Mikio Masuda (Sonic Barrier), super rare ethnic jazz crossover by Christal Zone - their one-off 45 promo release from 1971, Rai Rai, a deconstructed and abstract jazz classic by Yasuhiro Kohno with his solo piano rendition of My Favourite Things, and Mile and Half’s skin-tearing, shredding freak-out from their mega rare private press album.

A track that is so relentless, it leaves the listener in need of oxygen and a Valium. These hand-picked selections sit alongside other specially chosen numbers that embrace hard-driving samba (Seiichi Nakumura’s Judy’s Samba), epic head-nodding soul jazz (Masaru Imada’s World Line), psychedelic private press fusion (Aoyama Gakuin 101’s Fervor), angular post-bop tear-ups (Akira Miyazawa’s Nijimasu), intense and insistent fusion (Motohiko Hino’s Olive Step), serene cinematic pianism (Hideo Ichikawa’s On the Trade Wind) and tripped-out hallucinogenic tribal funky jazz (Masahiko Sato’s Garandoh’s Africa to Africa). Most of the tracks on this collection are being reissued for the first time, many of them only available previously on extremely limited and mega-rare private press or independent releases. J Jazz volume 5 is a fitting end to a compilation series that helped create a new audience and appreciation of Japanese jazz Some of the albums the tracks are drawn from are featured in the large format book J Jazz: Modern and Free Jazz from Japan 1954-1988, by Tony Higgins and Mike Peden, published by BBE Music in 2024. With almost 7000 words of extensive sleeve notes, J Jazz volume 5 comes in a triple 180g vinyl set inside a deluxe gatefold sleeve with obi strip, and comes with a 4-page insert, with photographs from the renowned Tokyo Jazz Joints project. It is also available as a double CD and digital download. Mastered at the Grammy-nominated Carvery Studio by Frank Merritt, this latest collection is a worthy successor to the preceding four volumes that set the bar so high. Butch returns to Rekids with the ‘Official Bump Call’ EP. Riva Starr steps up with a Warehouse remix.

German DJ/producer Butch returns to Rekids with the ‘Official Bump Call’ EP 22nd May 2026. It marks his first release on the label since 2011’s ‘Raw Beats’ two-tracker, followed by a 2018 appearance remixing Basement Jaxx’s ‘Good Luck’. This time, Snatch! Records boss Riva Starr joins for a remix fresh off the back of his ‘Shine A Light’ EP on Radio Slave’s main imprint.

Soul Jazz Records celebrate 25 years of working in partnership with Studio One with brand new editions of FIVE of their bestselling CLASSIC Studio One collections all released on limitededition one-off pressing coloured double vinyl. Dub-Stuy continues its one-riddim series with Punchliner riddim, an original production crafted by DJ Madd, returning on beatmaking duty since his 2021 relick of the classic Answer Riddim. Driven by syncopated rhythms and a rolling bassline, this new addition to the series provides the perfect backdrop for three standout cuts from an international cast of vocalists.

The late Nazamba offers "Thief," a powerful social commentary in the tradition of dub poets like Linton Kwesi Johnson. UK-based Ras Demo showcases his versatility with "Lyrical Designer," while Spanish vocalist Lasai unleashes rub-a-dub energy on "The Punchliner." An instrumental version is also included.

Roger Sanchez announces his new studio album ‘SPECTRUM’, marking his first full-length release in two decades. The record is following on from his 2006 LP ‘Come With Me’.

Six years in the making, ‘SPECTRUM’ features a wide range of collaborators, including Fedde Le Grand, Karen Harding, Donae-o, Kelli-Leigh, Kele Le Roc, Chico Castillo, Aaron Sevilla & Kristen Knight, Escala, Carnao Beats, Stealth, Leo Wood, and Melanie C. The announcement comes alongside the release of a new single, ‘Temptation’, a collaboration with Low Steppa and Ragdoll.

Speaking about the track, Sanchez said: “Teaming up with my brother Low Steppa was a perfect merger of our New York to London roots. And working with Ragdoll for the first time was a joy… She absolutely kills it on the vocals!
