The live show accompanies the release of 'Revelation Time', Iration Steppas & O.B.F’s joint album that’s due to drop April 2024 on Dubquake Records; a project that has been in the pipeline for near a decade building up to a huge hype amongst dub-heads. An album that questions the human condition & future of mother earth, a trip into raw dub music led by the two most innovative sounds.

Uncompromising undiluted dub, designed to be heard & felt with the same level of madness with which it was crafted in the studio. And that's exactly the plan: bring the analogue console, effect racks and dub sirens to the center of the stage, live mix the tracks off of 'Revelation Time', pass the mic through the echo unit and shell down the place in low frequencies. After a stellar release on Saoirse's label trUst—which caught the attention of DJs like Ben UFO, rRoxymore and dBridge—Ryan Aitchison aka Mella Dee is back on the dials for another outing of quality tech ‘aus fodder.

Rug Cutters Vol. 1 kicks off a slew of upcoming dancefloor weapons from the Warehouse Music boss. Visually underlined by his own original artworks, the EP shows off Mella Dee’s signature flair for whipping up raw, no-nonsense ingredients into irresistibly infectious grooves.

Vol. 1 starts strong with ‘Cutting Snakes (Keep on Moving)’, a track that screams instant classic with its shuffling beat and fat, sassy synthline. A2 track ‘Bumps (You Say)’ dives deep into those bassbin vibrations—it’s big, rude, and dead set on shaking up even the swampiest of dancefloors. Together, these cuts are not messing around.

On the flip, ‘Cutters (They Don't Get It)’ plays with the more futuristic, percussive end of the techno continuum. Drum breaks slither over each other, while a minimal vocal and bass hook locks everything down. Finally, ‘Pay No Mind (Who Am I)’ pulls the EP back to euphoria. This one will have the club cruising to its cocktail of flirty chord stabs and soulful house vocals—you’ll never want to go home.

Luckily, it won’t be long before we get one more tune from Ryan Aitchison—with plenty on the horizon, ‘Rug Cutters Vol. 1’ is also a taste of what’s to come. Stay tuned!

Toolbox is so proud of this wax.... I discover Somatic Responses with their very first EP on CFET, and I still dig for any of their music... Whatever it was with Cavage, with Ant-Zen or with DBN. Starting off the release is MPEG's 'Datetime', a playful and uplifting tune that's sure to perk up any dance floor!

A2 gets a bit deeper and darker with Sasha Nevolin’s ‘Tears at Rave’. With acidic arpeggios breathing through your sound system, this is a perfect track to transition into your trancier moments!

On the B side, Seo John's 'Circuit of Light' takes listeners on a mid-tempo progressive journey that beautifully blends the elements of acid, techno, and trance. Be sure to fasten your seatbelts for this one!

After his recent easter eggs EP, this four tracker is a blend of trance, breaks, drum & bass and experimental electronica.

Starting off the A side with the ‘Jelly Bean (Virus Outbreak Mix)’, this monster of tune will rattle your subs (and brain) with his crunchy kicks and trancey sequencing. This track will blast you off into oblivion eventually bringing you right into A2, ‘Level Quest’, a trancey chugging progressive tune building energy from the moment the first kick ignites.

After a much needed break, the B1 puts you in an immediate trancestate lasting just a few minutes and before you know it you will be blasted into drum and bass land with ‘Tasteful Nudes’ closing out the EP.

Extinguishers at the ready! Hot off the press, double trouble dub business that’s been causing a ruckus on dancefloors across the globe. Once only a weapon in a select few of the finest DJs record bags, these vinyl only head turners are now getting a full vinyl release.

Buckle up for Dubblack002, this time courtesy of Italian rising star TAGLIABUE. The Milanese DJ & producer is a an ideal ambassador of the label’s ethos, with his deep and mysterious electronic attitude. The opening track ‘Odissea’ lays the groundwork for the record to rise, with a cryptic intro which breaks out in a progressive detonation, referring to a late 90s/early00s sound but interpreting the scenario with a modern, actual twist.

‘Baraka Trance’ keeps the standard high and, as the title suggests, offers the artist’s POV on the Trance matter with a high-tempo, neatly arranged beat and a slightly acid bass-line, both creating a constantly evolving eight minutes-long acoustic journey. ‘A Oltranza’ slows the pulse but doesn’t decrease the pressure with captivating rhythmics perfectly blended with an avant-garde harmonic section; a complex but never baroque arrangement that constantly holds the listener on the rope. Three tracks with unique features, presenting a vast array of musical influences all merging to produce a cohesive, new and unheard record. The label proudly begins the journey through its evocative and archetypical ‘spiral’ with a marvelous EP by its head-honcho (GNMR), which perfectly embodies the spirit of the Italian imprint. 'Self Control’ is a three-track record, out both on vinyl and digital versions, that brilliantly blends a vast array of sonic influences into just 20 minutes. ‘Self Control’, 'Vado Avanti’ and ‘Give Me Music’ give life to a compelling, at times dark, fascinating techno tinged EP.

“God Is A DJ” is the new full-length by Joe T Vannelli, an album the DJ and producer has been working on for years, 13 to be exact, since his latest LP came out. The album features sixteen unreleased tracks and features huge names from all over the musical scene, both italian and international. God Is A DJ is already a cult musical project, that the house music lovers all around the world have been waiting for for years.

The two LPs take the listener through a musical journey mixing different sounds and styles: the first four tracks on Side A lean towards a melodic house sound, the very same genre that JTV took to the top of the game with his “Live On Tour” series of streaming – 62 streamed gigs from different places in Italy, from April 2020 throughout the pandemic. Fifteen million views with a valuable representation of the italian territory.

Amongst the tracks on Side A, the 2022 remix of “Voice In Harmony”, one of JTV's biggest hits, and the long-awaited new version of “Children”, by Robert Miles, which was taken to the top of the charts by the same Joe T Vannelli in 1996.

Side B features collaborative works with some italian producers fresh off the top of international house charts: Moreno Pezzolato for “Doctor House” and “Paradise” remixed by Federico Scavo e Cassimm, licensed worldwide by Happy Music and Kontor Records.

Side C opens with the Angelo Ferreri remix of “Where Is My Man”, #1 on Traxsource, then moves on to two big featured artists: the first one is Saturnino. His bass is perfect, on this 70s funky style piece which echoes the biggest and boldest productions of music history. The second one is the remix of “Paradise” by Mario Biondi, made by JTV
himself who gives the track a soul/funky mood and an international sound inspired by Alicia Myers, who already worked as a muse for “Thank You” by Busta Rhymes. A song like “Sacrifice” by The Weeknd works along the same lines.

Side D, instead, is pure, distilled Vannelli-sound: house music for house music lovers, led by the afro-house beat by Silvano del Gado for “Booma Beat” and followed by the “Harlem” remix by Angelo Ferreri, and “Across The Universe” reinvented by the young producer from Veneto Reboq. The album closes with “Shavasana”, a meditative yoga number inspiring total relaxation.

R.A.J.S. i.e. 'Rivers Area Juke Squad', though this one's this time not really from Chicago, but from The Hague/La Haia. Bouncin' and droppin' 'Juke'-style ghetto-tech bass music with some really authentic 'Latino' edge, surrounded by the sounds of the city streets...'The Squad' contains 2 Mc's: Mc Ravelo & Mc Electronic B, while their producer Kipkillah takes care of both the 'man-beating' and the 'beating-tracks'.

We know you've been waiting for this one since last summer! Caspa's debut on Youngsta's ridiculously on-point Sentry has been one of the most requested releases in a very long time. Hot on the heels of releases by dBridge, Nomine and Akcept, the Sub Soldier comes in hard with two absolute burn-ups...

'Gutter Riddim' is a stately spacious construction where every weighty element is carefully considered and plays a key role in the momentum. Tightly sprung tension buzzes through it with high voltage as Caspa lays down some of his darkest designs to date. 'Hot Head' hurls us even deeper into the shadows. A true teaser piece, the first bass line is a staccato stab that gives you just enough time to settle into the groove before the real big-balls bass line comes hurtling out of nowhere.

Rewind every single time, this has been causing uncut mayhem for the few DJs lucky to have it early enough. Timelessly gully and a perfect way to kick the doors of 2018 in. As those who were at Sentry's first anniversary at Fire earlier this month will corroborate: London's heart rate is pounding away at 140 again, some of the most crucial bass music is coming out of the city and Sentry, Youngsta and Caspa are slap bang in the heart of it. completely virginal duo Death Bulb, who have never released a single track
before, which is quite ridiculous as they have been producing this stuff since
2012. This is simply some of the best industrial noise techno around!

It starts out with the title track Zement, a total dancefloor killer that still gives
me goosebumps after hearing it about a million times. You will eat this up!


Second on the A side is Breathe In, Breed Out, a hilariously rough beatdown
with lots of heavy breathing involved - slays it every time! Ultraviolence never
felt so enjoyable!

The B side starts out with a rare guest appearance of label daddy Hanno
Hinkelbein who donated a remix of Zement for you people who like
straightforward techno. Lots of heavy bass and a crunchy ravepad, driven by
relentless percussion.

The vinyl ends with the broken banger Bettina's Betrayal - noise at it's
finest, somewhere between I-F's I Do Because I Couldn't Care Less...' and old
AFX.

defaultbox returns with its 20th release entitled "020".
