A style where both artists feel like at home. It is notorious how comfy they feel swimming on those seas. The EP gets to its maximum when a good old friend of
both, after listening to the tracks, realizes and decides he would love remixing one of them. Oxygeno Remix of "Danza de los ET" is adding the class and cleanness that was missing in the though original mixes.

Forged from the fire of internal struggles, Loraine James was wrestling with confidence and a desire for change when she embarked on “Detached From The Rest Of You”. A guiding hand came through producing 2025's “Clandestine” EP with singer Anysia Kym, which gave her the experience of a more 'pop' setting and the tools and insight to work her instrumentals into more conventional shapes; a shift from club driven sounds and winding instrumentals into more precise song forms.


Loraine’s production is stripped to the bone, soundscapes of clicks and glitches inspired by Aoki Takamasa, Ryoji Ikeda, and the early-00s Clicks & Cuts school. Here, often with not much more than sparse keyboard chords to fill in with subtle colouring, she uses the space around the sounds and vocals to draw the listener in to a succinct and direct album, her most confident yet.


Guest contributors include vocalist Sydney Spann on “In a Rut”, Alan Sparkhawk (Low) on downcast anthem “Peak Again”, Miho Hatori (Cibo Matto) on “Flatline”, Anysia Kim on “Score”, and Tirzah on “Habits and Patterns”. Finally her old spar, the rapper Le3 bLACK returns to spit fire with the jazz-indebted track “Ending Us All” with Fyn Dobson backing on tumbling drums.

The latest from master editor Mr. K, a jazz-funk classic backed by a Philly sure shot!

Debuting in 1975, the jazzy RnB instrumental ‘Always There’ from original Earth Wind and Fire saxophonist Ronnie Laws was a hidden gem until Side Effect’s vocal version took off the following year, one of many cover versions to come (Incognito’s hit the pop top ten in the ’90s). Mr. K's edit streamlines the original, mimicking Side Effect’s distinctive horn stab intro and adding a DJ-friendly drums-only outro. With original 7-inch releases being either fragile styrene or unreasonably short, this extended vinyl pressing is very welcome.

A song that needs no introduction—coming from the very best there is—the O’Jays backed by MFSB! ‘For the Love of Money’ rides one of the most immense bass lines ever committed to wax and, while that would be enough to carry a track on its own (see the Armada Orchestra’s cover), here we have the talents of the timeless O’Jays vocals to top things off. Mr. K has found the perfect balance between the Lp and single versions, giving us the very best DJ-friendly 7" mix that should never leave your bag.

Funny How? is Christophe Chassol’s fifth album.



While it builds directly on his work with the “Ultrascores,” it also marks a turning point: a more contemporary sound, broader songwriting, and more explicitly political and social themes make Funny How? his most accomplished album to date. It’s also his most accessible: inspired by American stand-up comedy, Funny How? sounds like a joyful mix of all the music that inspires the artist: soul, jazz, rap, musicals… Thus, throughout the album, major stand-up figures like Dave Chappelle, Marina Franklin, Dulcé Sloan, and Tiny Thickemz appear alongside emerging comedians filmed in more intimate comedy clubs, composing a moving portrait of the new American scene.

Drawing on archival footage and sequences shot for the project in New York and Chicago, and true to his principle of harmonizing reality, he reveals its hidden notes, replaying and developing them throughout a fascinating process. The result is a major work, a choral, political, and deeply musical narrative. In concert, the work unfolds majestically through a hybrid performance where music and images respond to and converse with one another.



The premiere of Funny How? on April 17 and 18, 2026, at the Cité de la Musique in Paris is already sold out. The album is scheduled for release on May 22, 2026.

Ein authentischer Geschichtenerzähler der heutigen Indie-Rock-Szene ist der in Tampa geborene und in New Orleans lebende Singer/Songwriter Thomas Dollbaum, und ,Birds of Paradise" ist sein bisher kraftvollstes und dynamischstes Werk. Nach seinen von Kritikern hochgelobten Alben "Wellswood" (Big Legal Mess, 2022) und "Drive All Night EP" (Dear Life Records, 2025) ist "Birds of Paradise" ein Abschiedsbrief an verlorene Liebste und sein früheres Ich. In diesen Songs sucht Dollbaum nach Akzeptanz an vergänglichen Zwischenorten: in den Kiefernwäldern Floridas, auf Nebenstraßen, die zur 1-95 führen, wo Vögel über das Wasser fliegen. Und obwohl die Geister seiner Alt-Country-Vorgänger Townes und Molina definitiv präsent sind, tritt Dollbaum auf Birds of Paradise aus ihrem Schatten heraus - er winkt der Vergangenheit zu und klingt dabei umso mehr wie er selbst. Dieser Moment - dieses Album - ist längst überfällig. Die Aufnahmen zu Dollbaums beiden vorherigen Veröffentlichungen hatten aufgrund von Umständen, die außerhalb seiner Kontrolle lagen, viel zu lange gedauert, was ihn frustriert zurückließ. Nachdem er acht Jahre lang von zu Hause weg war, war der Ort, den er verlassen hatte, nicht mehr der Ort, an den er sich erinnerte, und die Unveränderlichkeit der Natur fühlte sich wie eine Konstante an, über die er schreiben wollte. Mit einem Gefühl der Unmittelbarkeit schrieb er ,Birds of Paradise" in drei Monaten. Er rief die Musiker an, denen er am meisten vertraute und die er am meisten bewunderte - Nick Corson, Josh Halper und Jake Lenderman - und bat sie, sich mit ihm bei Dial Back Sound in Water Valley, Mississippi, mit dem Produzenten/Toningenieur Clay Jones zu treffen. While the older numbers are much sought after on Discogs, Light Touches pushes further and invites Irish underground heroes Frawl and Blackout (respectively founder and one of the resident djs of the connaisseur Backwards parties in Limerick) for the new release on the highly revered Light Touches Records.
On A side, “Fortune Teller” is a masterpiece of a lost disco tune with infectious funky bassline, while “Foxee” goes deeper into a brass driven relentless grooves with psychedelic melodies. On the flipside, “Me, Me, Me” is a 10 minutes journey, with a strong moody and deeper vibe.

All tracks have been carefully edited without overdubs, in order to bring the spirit of classic disco manipulators to today’s dancefloors!

Focus 21 is back with a second sizzling disco drop, this time in the form of 'Boogie Magic Vol 1', which has its feet firmly rooted in the 80s and the iconic machine sounds of that era. All four cuts are super tight and super funky from Gateway Jones, starting with 'Transmission', which is turbocharged with razzle-dazzle. 'Contact Zone' is slightly deeper and more sensuous with its playful synths and wriggling baseline. 'Non - Physical Boogie' is a taught stepper with loose claps and funky licks, then 'Midnight Call' closes with more of the same - feel good, uplifting but classy and sophisticated disco-boogie brilliance. A vital EP full of craft.

Few artists can conjure up the sort of spirituality that Fred P manages whenever he turns on his machines - and this brand new label from the artist means we'll be getting a shedload more of it. Sometimes it's deep, muggy, insular, at others more outward-looking and cosmic. And that's what we have here - emotionally dense sounds on 'Galaxy Walk (Journey mix)' with jazzy motifs off in the distance, spoken words in the foreground and dancing percussion that is optimistic and hopeful. 'Modern Art Talk' is just as balmy as you journey through a sound world that feels as infinite as space itself, while Fred himself muses on his art. 'Inner Channels (edit 4)' is a dusty shuffler marbled with muted chords and brighter melodic stars that feel impromptu and layered in live.

“Come On In My Kitchen” remains one of Johnson’s most covered and celebrated songs. Said to draw inspiration from the Mississippi Sheiks’ hit “Sitting On
Top Of The World,” the song’s repeating guitar phrases create an unmistakable sense of melancholy and depth.

“They’re Red Hot,” on the other hand, stands out as one of Johnson’s most unusual recordings, performed in a lively hokum style. Featuring brisk, jive-inflected
guitar and Johnson’s rapid-fire vocal delivery, the track has even been described as a possible precursor to early rap music.

Bound to break the new year in with all our might, we are excited to unveil our new baby, RYCX. Expanding the scope of our main catalogue to bottle what we consider pure techno quality with its idiosyncrasies and inherent untamedness, RYCX will serve as our platform of choice to embrace the more minimalist, dubby vibe of techno, focussing on tracks that sound more like a rabbit hole, trippier, psychedelic, and immersive, yet still powerful enough to fill a dance floor. Kicking off the journey is 'RYCX01' by Ruben Ganev, up with his debut solo release after contributing a track to our 2023-issued 'Heimat' VA. The music here featured packs the very defining qualities RYCX aims to engage its audience with: a raw, inspired, quality-driven combination of force and thoughtfulness, ruggedly honest yet built to meet the expectations of the most picky dance floors and home listeners out there. Ganev's quartet of stormy churners, cut from the most hypnotic cloth and eerily vibrant machine funk, has us diving deep into a throbbing furnace of charred dubs, steely industrial reliefs and post-apocalyptic atmospheres. A most fitting manifesto in sound, telling the beads of the sonic revolution in march.
