Ten years after Marcos Valle’s debut long player (Samba Demais) introduced Brazilian music lovers to the immense talents of the Valle brothers, a new direction and backing band helped the singer expand his musical palette. Showcasing a groovy funk and jazz-fusion influence with help from then current backing band Azimuth (later known as Azymuth), synthesizers, Fender Rhodes, and electronic sounds took Valle’s samba, bossa nova, baião (a rhythmic beat from the rural northeast of Brazil), along with the inspiration of black American music and psychedelic rock from prior albums, to dimensions unheard. While not a complete departure, the vocals, grooves, and engaging songs of Previsão Do Tempo are guaranteed to make you feel free and think deep.

Sublunar, the label founded by Sciahri, is proud to present the debut EP of Australian artist Connor Wall with Equals. Known for his releases on Phorum and Moving Pressure, Connor Wall is one of those artists capable of crafting a deeply personal and hypnotic sound, where each track unfolds as a journey of its own.

The EP opens with Oak, a minimal yet driving and atmospheric piece, before moving into Invert, a powerful track built around a unique and relentless escalation of tension. Peace World Records returns with Hidden Atmospheres, the debut release produced by Max F and mixed by Space Ghost. Drawing from classic deep house and esoteric club sounds of the '90s and early 2000s, this seven-track collection channels these influences into fresh territory while preserving the digital grit and dreamlike essence of the era.

The release strikes a delicate balance between the meditative and the kinetic. On the A Side, tracks “Soul Control” and “Zone 6” highlight subtle yet hard-hitting percussion grooves and deep basslines that anchor the mix beneath ethereal pads and sweeps. Each track builds through hypnotic, evolving arrangements that reward close listening. On the B side, “Dream Channel” and “Earth Effects" both feature airy, spectral synth progressions that interweave with ephemeral yet decisive melodies, demonstrating a refined insight of space and dynamics. To round things off, Space Ghost took a crack at an energetic club remix of “Dream Channel. ” Carried by a classic 909 house rhythm and a bubbly bassline, the remix offers a fun, uplifting take on the original, complete with organ stabs and MIDI sax!

180 GR Records is proud to present a new release by N-Zino, reimagining two tracks previously released by Four Flies Records: Mo... and Living Disco Club, offering two distinct yet complementary interpretations. Mo... (180 GR Disco Mix) takes its cue from the original Banda Maje version, itself a contemporary homage to Peppino Di Capri, already given a club reinterpretation. N-Zino elevates the track with a nu disco approach, emphasizing its elegant groove and sunnier, funkier side, blending disco influences with pulsing basslines, shimmering percussion, and warm synth textures, all infused with contemporary sensibilities while keeping the original melody alive. The result is a bright, danceable reinterpretation designed for both listening and the dancefloor. Bob Stanley’s latest compilation “Wednesday Morning 6AM” literally turns back the clocks.

In the late 70s and early 80s, there was a parallel world of hits that people only heard when their clock radio went off. BBC Radio 2 had little time for the Top 40 music played by Radio 1 and beamed into living rooms by Top Of The Pops. Radio 2 effectively created a chart of its own playing singles or album tracks that their DJs enjoyed and wanted to share with their listeners. These tracks were given multiple plays on rotation and became earworms for millions of listeners.

José González has delivered a new album, Against the Dying of the Light, a companion and further meditation on the themes of his critically acclaimed album, Local Valley. The Appetizers deliver a masterclass in roots reggae music with their highly anticipated second studio album, bridging Jamaica's golden age with contemporary relevance. JJ is one of the most trusted engineers working in this sound, ensuring every ounce of warmth and authenticity came through.

The Appetizers are a rocksteady and early reggae band formed in Milan in 2020 by musicians deeply embedded in the Italian and international reggae scene. Musicians from different paths united by a shared vision: recreating that vintage Caribbean and American sound with authenticity, respect and a forward-thinking edge.

Drawing inspiration from Jamaica's golden era and channeling the soul of Delroy Wilson, Alton Ellis, the early Wailers, and The Upsetters, The Appetizers carry forward the essence of bass culture with a pure, fully organic approach.

Their debut album Listen Up! (2022), released via Belgian imprint Badasonic Records (home to The Slackers, The Aggrolites, David Hillyard & Victor Rice), featured ten original tracks and a dub cut by Victor Rice. Distributed across Europe, the UK, the US, and Japan, it quickly earned international recognition among reggae connoisseurs and selectors worldwide.

Following extensive touring, including shows with The Slackers, Black Uhuru, Skip Marley, and more, the band returned to the studio to record "Keep Your Step", their second album produced by Killer Groove Records. Cosmic Ear is a new group bringing together Christer Bothén, Mats Gustafsson, Goran Kajfeš, Kansan Zetterberg and Juan Romero. Their debut album TRACES is released by We Jazz Records on 23rd of May, 2025. Including 6 deep cuts, TRACES is an album that sees Cosmic Ear tracking down the "traces" of the legendary Don Cherry's legacy while paving their own way in contemporary creative music expression.

Christer Bothén, a collaborator with Don Cherry during his Swedish period in the 1970s, brings depth to the history of the band, while his bandmates each belong at the top of the game in Scandinavian jazz. Their music is meditative and deep, much recommended for fans of the likes of Don Cherry, Alice Coltrane, and Pharoah. That being said, listeners should approach Cosmic Ear only with openness and curiosity, without set stylistic boundaries, as it's the group's natural flow and togetherness that brings their music into a fresh territory of their own.

It also stands as Esa’s most collaborative release to date, featuring contributions from musicians across London, Oaxaca, Nairobi, and Cape Town, each adding their own creative energy to a project built on openness, trust, and shared experience.

The album draws inspiration from Esa’s recent ventures into documentary scoring and soundtracking, with projects like Cursed (Audible) and The Invisible Hand teaching him to listen differently, to honour space, to serve the story.
