The next episode of DJ Kicks comes from Jackmaster. The
Numbers cofounder and charismatic Glaswegian delivers
an honest journey, unearthing a serious passion for the
obscure boundaries of house and techno.
'The mix is influenced heavily by how I used to DJ at the
first party I ever promoted, named Seismic, and another
named Monox which was a straight up techno night where
I was a resident from the age of 17. And although it wasn't
my plan, it turned into a kind of tribute to the cities that
really formulated me as a DJ: Detroit, Chicago and Glasgow.

Curated by in-demand Nashville pedal steel maverick and Third Man recording artist Luke Schneider, the eleventh volume of Tompkins Square’s venerable Imaginational Anthem acoustic guitar series features exclusive tracks by legend BJ Cole, as well as leading exponents on the instrument including Susan Alcorn, Luke himself, and British expat /Nashville hotshot Spencer Cullum among others. Kiefer Sutherland, mostly known as an Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor, producer, and director, began pursuing a secondary musical career in the 2000s and 2010s by forming the Ironworks label. He signed Rocco DeLuca, Ron Sexsmith and started his own rootsy Americana outfit called the Kiefer Sutherland Band. Fast forward to 2021, Kiefer Sutherland returns from his UK Top 10 album, 2019’s ‘Reckless & Me’ with a brand new record, 'Bloor Street' coming out on 21st January 2022. Opening track "Bloor Street" (1st Oct) explores the sense of home both externally and within yourself. Lead track "Two Stepping in Time" (5 Nov) showcases Kiefer's classic fire sparking americana tune. Additional focus tracks include "Lean into Me" (31Dec) and "Chasing The Rain" (21 Jan).

Four modern, textural, slow-burning instrumental hip hop soundscapes set a distinct mood on this new EP by the venerable Chris DeLuca. Heavy-hitting basslines and slightly ominous hat patterns dominate, leaving these cuts verging on the territory of dark, minimal electro destruction... with a subtle dose of that funky boom bap. Perfectly applicable to both basement dancefloor experiments and gangster dealings alike.

One half of Berlin's Funkstörung, alongside partner Michael Fakesch, De Luca is more than well-versed in the genre, having done a few remixes for high-profile hip hop and experimental acts such as Wu Tang Clan and Bjork. They've released an uncountable amount of records on labels !K7, Compost Records, Music aus Strom and Acid Planet, to name but a few. This is his first release for Detroit Underground.

Includes two fire remixes, one by fellow DU resident producer Valance Drakes, and the second by none other than Chris DeLuca's son, Lenny DeLuca.
