Amsterdam indie stalwarts Pip Blom and Willem Smit, respectively the songwriter & vocal force behind Pip Blom and the driving creative mind behind Personal Trainer, have come together after a decade of intermittent collaborations to launch a new project: Long Fling. The duo's self-titled debut album arrives 3rd of October, 2025, unveiling a collection of charming, offbeat guitar and drum machine, kraut-rock tinged anthems, touching on everyday oddities like socks, shoes, and the allure of staying home.

Unlike typical duets, Long Fling doesn’t focus on harmonies or traditional back-and-forth vocals. Instead, Pip and Willem trade lines over minimal, melodic arrangements that reflect their shared sensibilities. The songs are direct but often playful, shaped by a mix of guitars, drum machines, and off-the-cuff lyrics.

Over the course of ten years, Willem and Pip’s songwriting process evolved from tentative beginnings filled with creative tension to a natural, collaborative flow. Willem reflects: “Over the years, I feel we’ve grown more comfortable making music together... Assembling a record we have been accidentally making without the goal of making a record was fun, but also weird. It felt a bit like archaeology sometimes. We tried to change things... but found out quite quickly that it made most sense to stay true to the initial ideas we had.”

we each asked our dads whether the album sounded more like a Willem album or a Pip album, they both said the other’s name. I really feel like we made this album together - it’s a true blend of the both of us.

DEADLETTER frontman Zac Lawrence’s latest solo venture hones in on the songwriter’s love of the contemporary folk scene of the 60s. Though not necessarily a conventional “Folk” sound, the acoustic guitar led songs intertwine the singer’s passion for lyricism and literacy with heart-string tugging melodies and arrangements. With the first single from this project expected in the summer of 2025, he brings a new band together made up of Misty Miller on vocal duties, Blossom Caldarone (English Teacher) on Cello, and Nathan Pigott (also of DEADLETTER) on clarinet. Antithetical to what we know from him as the frontman of the aforementioned, expect laid back, fingerpicked numbers that take you anywhere from Hamburg’s most gruesome hotel, to him imagining himself as a fifty something looking back on a life that he didn’t live in the way that was intended.

There’s a lot for MAYDAY PARADE to celebrate these days. The T allahassee, Florida-formed quintet recently
wrapped a career-defining tour marking two decades together, one that saw more than 70,000 fans pack sold-out venues to celebrate their storied catalog. They performed a triumphant main-stage set at the 30th anniversary of the V ans W arped T our, a full-circle moment for a band that made their name selling self-released CDs in those same sweltering parking lots nearly 20 years ago. Their landmark debut LP, A Lesson In Romantics, turned 18, still beloved for its iconic singles like the platinum-certified “Jamie All Over” and gold-certified “Miserable At Best.” And the group released Sweet, the first in a self-released three-album series that reaffirmed just how vital and creatively energized Mayday Parade still remains. Now, on Sad, the second installment in that trilogy, the band continue diving deeper into the emotional nuance that’s defined their most captivating albums, blending aching sentimentality with melodic urgency as only they can. Once again produced by longtime collaborators Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount, Sad sees Mayday Parade stripping back some of the tempo that colored Sweet in favor of more deliberate grooves, more introspection, and a sharpened focus on mood and space.

Diese Veröffentlichung vereint zwei Referenzaufnahmen: Emmanuel Pahud: Flöte und Harfe in Harmonie Emmanuel Pahuds hochgelobte Einspielung von Mozarts Konzert für Flöte und Harfe in C-Dur aus dem Jahr 1996, gemeinsam mit der Harfenistin Marie-Pierre Langlamet, besticht durch Pahuds elegantes und ausdrucksstarkes Flötenspiel. A Milan-born multi-instrumentalist of Venetian heritage, Alberto Baldan Bembo was a gifted vibraphonist, organist, pianist, arranger, and composer whose work bridged jazz, pop, and film music. By the early 1960s, he was performing with Italy’s leading ensembles, including I Menestrelli del Jazz and Bruno De Filippi’s group, and soon became an in-demand session musician. For several years, he toured with the legendary Mina, providing the piano and organ backbone to her live shows—a role that sharpened the cinematic sensibility and refined musicianship that would later define his soundtrack work. In the years to come, he would be celebrated for his scores to films such as L’Amica Di Mia Madre (1975) and Lingua Argento (1976), earning a place alongside Piero Umiliani, Alessandro Alessandroni, Berto Pisano, and other luminaries of Italy’s golden age of soundtrack and library music.

Io E Mara is the soundtrack to a film that was never made. Originally released on the CGD label in 1969, this debut album from the brilliant Maestro Baldan Bembo is a sophisticated concept-album tracing 24 hours in the life of two young lovers. Told entirely through music, the record unfolds as a continuous suite of ten tracks, where cinematic lounge, bossa, and jazz flavors mingle to create a dreamlike atmosphere. Baldan Bembo’s signature piano and organ are masterfully complemented by Mara’s ethereal vocals, while immersive soundscapes of crashing waves, seagulls, and rain showers enhance the feeling of a deeply personal and intimate journey. A cast of exceptional musicians brings this vision to life, including Bruno De Filippi on electric guitar and sitar, Carlo Milano on electric bass, Rolando Ceragioli on drums, and Pasquale Liguori on sound effects. This singular work not only showcases the burgeoning talent of a future soundtrack master but also features the original pop art front cover by Italian cult illustrator Guido Crepax.

"Pop" is a tag that's been assigned to Minus The Bear throughout their career. It's been used to set a distinction between the unique brand of complex indie rock they introduced on their first EP and the more angular and aggravated sounds of their previous bands Botch, Kill Sadie, and Sharks Keep Moving. It's also a tag that was thrown around frequently in the wake of their streamlined fourth album, OMNI. And it's a descriptor that immediately comes to mind within the first few seconds of their classic second formal EP, They Make Beer Commercials Like This. Now celebrating its 10-year anniversary and first time in print since 2011, Beer Commercials is the evolutionary step between Minus The Bear's first two landmark albums, Highly Refined Pirates and Menos El Oso. Opening track "Fine + 2 Points" remains one of the band's strongest opening tracks in their discography,charging out of the gates with a syncopated stomp that comes across as a more agitated take on Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Outta My Head". If Minus The Bear were looking to make pop music without any of its major-scale bubblegum trappings, they nailed it here. The band follows it with "Let's Play Clowns" and "Dog Park" - nods to Highly Refined Pirates' formula of frenetic clean guitar work, bombastic choruses, and Jake Snider's lyrics of detached romantic nostalgia. These tracks may represent Minus The Bear's original trademark version of pop, but on songs like "I'm Totally Not Down With Rob's Alien" the band eschews it's restless energy for atmosphere and dynamics, creating a sound that's inspired more than a handful of contemporary melodic post-rock bands. By the time the band belts out "Pony Up!" the listener has watched the three-year sonic transition between Minus The Bear's first two full-lengths transpire within under half-an-hour, with the their earlier math rock predilections yielding to the tightly wound club-banging pedalboard trickery that defined their sophomore album. Even if Beer Commercials doesn't fit within your definition of pop music, the unorthodox energetic charm of this relatively low-profile release serves as an exciting reminder of why Minus The Bear became one of the most important and influential indie rock bands of the new century.

If Punk culture and Aesthetics have a poet, it’s undoubtedly KŌ MACHIDA. Schnitzlers Zusammenarbeit mit Wolf Sequenza alias Wolfgang Seidel nimmt einen besonderen Platz in seinem umfangreichen musikalischen Schaffen ein. Mit ihrem fünften Album kehrt das slowenische Trio Sirom zurück - und präsentiert ein klanglich wie thematisch weitreichendes Werk. In the Wind of Night... knüpft an das gefeierte The Liquified Throne of Simplicity (2022) an, geht aber neue Wege: melodischer, zugänglicher, ohne die hypnotische Tiefe und rhythmische Komplexität zu verlieren, die Sirom auszeichnen. Ana Kravanja, Iztok Koren und Samo Kutin verweben auf überlangen Tracks folkloristische Motive, dissonante Texturen und rituelle Klanglandschaften. Sie nutzen fast zwei Dutzend akustische Instrumente - viele davon selbst gebaut - und erschaffen so eine Musik, die sich jeder Kategorisierung entzieht. Die Stücke wirken wie Klangwanderungen durch imaginäre Landschaften, mal dicht und tranceartig, mal luftig und klar strukturiert. Das Album wurde live aufgenommen und spiegelt die kollektive Arbeitsweise der Band wider. Sirom bleiben dabei kompromisslos eigenständig - und sind heute eine der spannendsten Stimmen der europäischen Avant-Folk-Szene.

In den 1970er Jahren unternahm der experimentierfreudige Vibrafonist und Marimba-Spieler Bobby Hutcherson bei Blue Note einige Ausflüge in kommerziellere Gefilde. Ein absoluter Höhepunkt dieser Schaffensphase war das 1975 entstandene Album “Montara”. Angetrieben von einer exzellent besetzten Band mit
sechs Perkussionisten bietet Hutcherson darauf eine berauschende Mischung aus Latin Jazz und FusionGrooves, die vor guter Laune nur so überschäumt

Mit seiner Mischung aus swingendem Hard Bop, wunderschönen Balladen, afrikanischen Rhythmen und
Blues hob sich das 1964 aufgenommene Album “In Memory Of” deutlich von den sehr erfolgreichen SoulJazz-Aufnahmen ab, die der Tenorsaxofonist Stanley Turrentine zuvor für das Label Blue Note gemacht
hatte. Das könnte der Grund gewesen sein, weshalb es nicht sofort, sondern erst fünfzehn Jahre später
veröffentlicht wurde. Denn in puncto musikalischer Qualität stand dieses Album, das Turrentine mit einem
großartigen Sextett aufgenommen hatte, in nichts nach.

„Farewell, Angelina“ ist das sechste Studioalbum der Folk-Ikone Joan Baez. Es wurde 1965 veröffentlicht,
erreichte Platz 10 der Billboard 200 und enthält traditionelle Folk-Klassiker sowie Songs von Bob Dylan,
Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger und vielen anderen. Das Magazin No Depression lobte das Album als „die
vielleicht klangvollste Folk-Platte aller Zeiten“. Es wurde mit Hilfe des Lackschnitt-Verfahrens auf 180-
Gramm-Vinyl gepresst und befindet sich in einer Tip-On-Hülle. „Farewell, Angelina“ ist ab dem 3. Oktober
2025 überall erhältlich.

Welcome to Pfefferkorn: a countryside studio hidden inside a former 1950s café. The stylish interior stayed, the cake display is gone, but the mountain panorama is still very much in place. Out of this unlikely combination came Obsolescence, Feater's new album and a record that wasn't supposed to happen, but insisted on doing so anyway.

Originally, Pfefferkorn hosted a merry-go-round of guests and genres: jazz, kraut, pop, experiments, even the occasional field recording. Among the many, Mara Oldofredi aka Mietze Conte became the most frequent and inspiring visitor. Their sessions set sparks, and one of them, "Trio," landed directly on the album.
The method? Call it instant archaeology: live jams on two-track tape, then pushed through edits, resampling, Fairlight IIX sorcery, and endless tape-laptop relays. Quick, raw, and without too much overthinking, more sketch than sculpture, more instinct than intent.
The result is Obsolescence, a record born out of detours, made for personal delight, and proof that side products can be main courses if you let them.

Wer seine 50-jährige Karriere verfolgt hat, kennt Vernon Reid als Künstler, der in allen Farben malt. Und das alles mit so vielseitigen Kollaborateuren wie Mick Jagger oder Public Enemy. Ein Künstler im Wandel und doch eine feste Größe, auf dessen Aussagen man bauen kann. “Hoodoo Telemetry”, sagt der 66-jährige über sein Werk, “ist wie ein Stück meines Geistes. Ich habe eine ganze Weile gebraucht, um mit diesem Album zu beginnen. Diese Songs kommen aus unterschiedlichen Zeiten und Lebenssituationen. Einige Songs sind ganz neu, andere sind aus älteren Ideen, die ich wieder aufgegriffen habe, entstanden.
Plötzlich fand ich den Fokus und mir war klar das ich jetzt mit der Arbeit an diesem neuen Album anfangen muss.

It's her first full-length album in about two years since her previous album, "A Towel Blanket Comes Alone" As with her previous releases, the recording
and mixing was handled by Yasumasa Hamano (IZU STUDIO), and the mastering was handled by Soichiro Nakamura (peace music).
The jacket artwork is a new design by artist TIDE. Available in CD and LP formats only.

Davide & Emily form the duo "The Jackson Pollock", delivering an explosive blend of lo-fi and garage music that creates a sound far greater than the sum of its parts. Emily sounds like a cannon blast when she strikes her 22âÇ3 ride cymbal with full force, while simultaneously cursing the spirit with mermaid-like melodies. Davide alternates between guitar and bass, bringing distorted, bluesy tones to life. "What we do is very energetic, free, and positive, because we want to encourage people to have the courage to do what they truly want - to be themselves and fearless - as human and as animal - while avoiding any kind of schema, external structures, definitions, and imposed references."
