Here Karizma flips a version of a certain African-American work song, which catchy refrain just seem to resonate with anyone, while the rough dirty beats with the cheeky start/pause technique destroy the dance floor! On B-Side the maestro travels in time to grace us with a retro-futuristic workout on the edge of jazz-fusion / prog-rock & Italo-disco. "In Spite Of" is a peculiar, yet beautiful combination of hypnotic chord progressions, step-sequenced synthetic bass-lines, the virtuoso dialogue of electric guitar and electric violin (yes), spiced up with African percussion and forceful beats, all working together in harmony in accordance with the intricate time signature of the song! That's Karizma at his most Balearic!

DJ Rocca's second outing on Slow Motion see's the Italian disco-maestro take a dive deep into the bubbling waters of an undersea world that fizzes and pops with synthetic swagger. Following his recent releases on Codek and long time collaboration with Daniele Baldelli, Moaning is four tracks of playful circuit-funk that will bring a smile to your face and swing to your feet.

Sublime compilation of long-lost Australian indie-pop, acoustic jangle and beat happenings gathered by Melbourne-based collector and DJ Bayu and label head Moopie. Twelve tracks of singular vision spanning up- and downbeat pop, post-punk and minimal synth rarities recorded between 1982 and now. Australian twee pop royalty the Cat's Miaow shares the stage with the Cannanes and the Particles; Ya Ya Choral with Sarah Records' own Even As We Speak. We are very excited to welcome ROCCO & ESQUIVEL to COSMICA's roster this year.The duo formed by Rodrigo Desentis (México) and Eduardo Esquivel (Uruguay) provide an uptempo gem strictly designed for the dance floor. Esquivel is a well know name in the Latin American electronic music scene, since he started his residency at the mythical club EXTASIS in Montevideo. After 25 years of career and extensively touring through Uruguay, Brasil and Argentina, Eduardo has settled in México city with residencies in the acclaimed BLANCO COLIMA and CASA DISCO.DUBMASTERS was our first choice for a Remix candidate, and we could not be more stoked with the outcome. The spacey pads and reverberating drums of the intro, already announce the departure to a cosmic destination well know by all familiar with their previous releases on our label. The tight bassline provides the classic 'Electro' background for the wanky guitar chops to flourish into a flock of migrating melodies that fly in all directions in the sky above.EDDIE C, the Canadian / Berlin resident 'SLO-MO DISCO MAESTRO', closes the EP and puts the cherry on top, adding a latin feel good climate to the package. Anthony Nicholson Chicago deep house maestro delivers here two amazing soulful deep house tracks for the Attias brothers label Visions.Visions open mind and wide vision returns here with their 15th release continuing their journey into the world of electronic dance music On the A side Anthony and William Kurk have produced an amazing soulful vocal track mixing lush pads Rhodes and beautiful vocals sustained by a solid house beat. This is a sublime journey into a soft and beautiful Chicago deep house jam that we fell in love instantanely with and wanted to share itwith the music lovers and vinyl collectors.The B side is a jazz funk number that rolls deep into Rhodes chords, moog leads and funky basseline for an 8min 20 long amazing dancefloor instrumental bomb.

With one track per side and with the great mastering and the loud cut , these two Chicago slices of goodness will find place in any dj bag for sure.

Rich La Bonte is a musician, writer and editor from upstate New York born in 1946. At age 11 he figured out how to record a piano backwards with his first tape deck and discovered Monk, Mingus and Art Blakey. In 1965 Rich moved to Ithaca, bought an electric guitar and started singing in garage rock band the huns. After the band dissolved, he moved to NYC and played bass and sang in the original cast production of the musical Godspell. In the late 70s La Bonte moved to Hollywood with Shari Famous, released a a few 7' singles as Dada2, and started fLAtDiSk Records, a vinyl subsidiary of Dave Gibson's Moxie Record Company.

Rich released his debut solo album 'Mayan Canals' in 1981. The seven songs were recorded between 1973 and 1980 while living in New York, Pennsylvania and Hollywood. Influenced by everything from Apple Records to Zappa, the album veers from oozy psychedelia to synthesized breezy folk. Vocally Rich sounds like a cross between Tom Verlaine and Lou Reed. Some tracks feature an EMS Synthi A synthesizer, known to generate the sci-fi sounds from Dr. Who. Other songs utilize feedback from a Maestro Fuzztone box into a TEAC 4-track SimulSync tape recorder. Lyrically La Bonte tackles themes of dying celestial bodies, the birth of his daughter, and a critique of Bowie's character in The Man Who Fell To Earth. Included on this reissue are two bonus tracks originally released on the double A side 7' single Chance Circumstance/Drums Along The Maple Wood, a tribute to Irwin Chusid, the eminent WFMU DJ, with vocals by Shari Famous.

All songs have been remastered from original tapes by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The jacket features a replica of the original jacket with a Mayan figure screen printed using the original rubber stamps from Rich's archives. Each copy includes a 6-page xeroxed booklet with lyrics, never before seen photos, and liner notes by Rich La Bonte.
