Debut, 4 track 7" on KingUnderground by Flughand & Smuv. Flughand and and Smuv, 37 and 27 year old producers from Germany, collaborate on their debut EP "Fluo". They are both giants in the streaming game and known for their laid back, dreamy, lofi hip hop beats. They are two of the most well-known artists in the genre of lofi, with streams counting more than 100 million clicks. BeatPete, a fellow German and widely respected DJ, is the link here for the release on KingUnderground.


They each have their own distinctive style of cover art for all their solo projects and this time they worked with an Italian artist, "Heey Studio Design" for the "Fluo" EP illustration. It conveys the two of them, a cat (Smuv) sitting on a little island, chilling with a cocktail in the middle of an ocean and a dog (Flughand), flying an airplane up in the sky.

Originally released in 1993 by Hani AlBader on his first label Super Doppler Communications. It was primitively programed on 8track sequencer then recorded on a 4 track tape machine in his spare bedroom studio in Denver, Colorado. Only 300 hundred copies were pressed initially. It was not an easy record to sell to distributors at the time due to the various genres & sounds on it. Mailed out few promos to a handpicked list of names. One of them was dj Dubfire whom at the time was starting as Deep Dish. One morning in spring of 93' Hani received a phone call from Ali Shirazinia aka Dubfire who was full of compliments & requested similar tracks for his label.26 years later Hani's name became internationally known & till this day continues to produce & remix under many aliases while running his own label Soterios Records. In 2017 Hani started receiving several purchase requests from seekers of this record. Thanks to Discog they were able to find out who to contact.Jeep Warehouse Beats Vol:1 is now in high demand among techno / rave fans and some deejays are offering up to $110 per copy. Dubplate’s Don Persian has repressed this Hardcore Breaks Techno Riddim, seeing there were only 100 in existence before going for crazy prices, now including a mix from S.Bell capturing a shimmering soundscape vibe, adding perfection to his unsung abilities. This E.P. has some speaker destroyer’s on there, introducing the MixMaster Max into the pot alongside the Persian doing what can only be called world dub music. Sterling breaks shuffling at a downtempo 8 bit vibe with a really heavy bass! MixMaster Max’s history is interesting to say the least...

Born October 1966. Break Dancer in 1984, under the moniker Mad Max, started a crew named The Back Street Warriors, busking all over the UK at places such as Covent Garden/Leicester Square Performing on stage & in clubs. They once jammed with The Rock Steady Crew in Camden Palace in front of an audience.

Then in 1987 he became a DJ, playing all genre’s of music, he first played on RJR Radio, playing Electro, Hip Hop, Soul, R&B & Reggae. Moving forward he started playing Acid House & Four to the Floor Music styles, by the early 90’s he played on Weekend Rush & then went onto Defection, Touchdown, Don & Passion FM, playing Acid & Hardcore Jungle.

In the early day’s, MixMaster Max was one of the Innovator’s of Jungle music by mixing Hardcore, Reggae & Hip Hop together, helping other’s to produce, fuse & gain idea’s in the music industry. He was by Far the most Original, Innovative, DJ anybody had ever heard.

In 1991 he played alongside John Saunderson at the Camden Palace on a Friday night, he also played at the Famous Hacienda Club in Manchester.

He was the first DJ to create the Topsy Turvey, which is one turntable on top of the other, he came runner up in the DMC World Championships in the early 90’s.

He played at some of the Biggest Rave’s back in the day, Pirate club 93, Fantazia 92, Dungeon’s 91/92, Turnmills 92, to mention a few. He also played on Avenues FM & People’s Choice, which were legal Radio Station’s, not forgetting Kool FM & Centreforce.

He performed on stage with the We Papa Girl Rapper’s in 1990 at the Notting Hill Carnival. This Legendary Cult figure is a Master of the Nunchucker’s & TurnTable’s!

His innovative Mixes were ‘legendary’ he was a pioneer precursor to the Art form known as Jungle Music, not to mention his Scratching abilities, which was ‘extraordinary’!

For those that listened to pirate radio back in the day, he was the legendary cult figure that inspired us all, giving us the freshest musical styles that had never been heard before!

He can still be heard on Radio today...What an inspiration this Unsung Hero has been to us All!

German duo Avidus bring their spellbinding style to Crosstown this March. The pair have conceived a four track EP that serves to showcase their unique sound.

Avidus have produced a mesmerising EP that submerges the listener in an intriguing sonic soundscape. On title track XII prominent drums arise alongside dramatic strings that create a track full of suspense. Psalm 23 opens with an ethereal vocal sample that bleeds into a high-octane beat that's pacing and intense. On the flip, Lux is a dreamy and emotive number, calmer than its predecessors with a breathtaking breakdown, whilst last year's Revenge Of The Whales gets a rework for Crosstown.

Hailing from Kiel in North Germany Fritz Wagner and Marc Wolf, aka Avidus, have forged a strong partnership over the years. Fritz began producing music in the late 90s, making Hip Hop beats and pop music before moving on to house. During his early years, Marc produced backing tracks for hardcore bands before DJ'ing at illegal, outdoor raves. He started his own night ENDVR at Kiel's Luna Club, where he invited guest such as Âme, Roman Flügel, Barnt and Marcus Worgull. Their diverse musical tastes and influences are apparent in their music, which refuses to be confined to any one genre. The duo launched their own imprint Empore Music in 2014 that has charted releases from Johannes Albert amongst others.

As part of their 20th Anniversary celebrations, Strut present the first new volume in their pioneering 'Nigeria 70' series for over 8 years, bringing together rare highlife, Afro-funk and juju from the '70s and early '80s. Compiled by collector and DJ Duncan Brooker, this new selection of tracks is receiving its first international release outside of Nigeria.

The compilation returns to a fertile heyday in Nigerian music when established styles like highlife and juju became infused with elements of Western jazz, soul and funk and musicians brought a proud new message post-independence. Brooker places the spotlight particularly on some of the incredible Ukwuani musicians from the Delta State region as guitarist Rogana Ottah and Steady Arobby's International Brothers Band forged their own fluid brand of highlife and soulman Don Bruce drew on the US R&B greats for a series of great albums and explosive stage shows at his residency at Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

Elsewhere, the album explores the close connection between Nigeria and Benin's music, most famously through Sir Victor Uwaifo, appearing here with a killer mid'80s ekassa jam, as well as highlife hitmaker Osayamore Joseph on 'Obonogbozu' (Joseph made headlines in Nigeria for very different reasons in 2017, surviving a one month kidnapping ordeal).

Other tracks include 'Sickness' a 1979 lament on how all countries share troubles by Prince Nico Mbarga, the Nigerian / Camerounian star behind the smash hit 'Sweet Mother'; reggae singer Felixson Ngasia switches to funk and disco for a heavy workout with potent lyrics around black identity; another major highlife great Etubom Rex Williams unleashes a punchy psych funk gem with 'Psychedelic Shoes' and Africa 70 member Pax Nicholas vocals a simmering Afrobeat groove from Jacob Lee's Saxon Lee & The Shadows International Band.

'Nigeria 70: No Wahala' iis released on 29th March 2019 on CD, 2LP and digital. All tracks have been restored by See Why Audio and mastered by The Carvery. The package features comprehensive sleeve notes including exclusive interviews with some of the original artists.

The 68th edition of the DJ-Kicks mix series is another landmark one, withexperimental producer Laurel Halo taking the reins. The American's adventurous28 track trip features seven exclusives, including two of her own plus thosefrom Rrose, Machinewoman, FIT Siegel, Nick LeoIün and Ikonika. An electronic outlier, Halo hails from Ann Arbor, Michigan, but has been basedin Berlin for a number of years. Landing on labels like Hyperdub, Honest Jon'sand Latency, Halo has released a body of work ranging in style, yet cohered byproduction and compositional tendencies that sound distinctly her own. Herstudio work tends to be a multi-layered mix of the electronic and theacoustic, the organic and the synthetic. As a DJ, meanwhile, she lays downmore floor focussed mixes of techno, bass and worldly drum rhythms, and herlive sets are similarly visceral and direct. Halo's DJ-kicks packs a lot in to just 60 minutes. It kicks off with the firstof two of her own exclusives, 'Public Art', a tactile piano loop that sets themelodic tone of the mix in focus. Crunchy drums soon take over and begin whatis a blistering ride through electro, trippy minimalism and textures thatrange from icy and dubby to steel plated and sharp from the likes of Red Axes,Parris and an exclusive from Rrose. Another exclusive, rough and ready cut from Machinewoman follows, before themid section twists and turns on surging drum patterns, frantic industrialtextures and spaced out gqom sounds from the likes of Griffit Vigo, DarioZenker and Final Cut. Patrick Topping has announced that he will be launching his own record label, TRICK , a home for Patrick to exhibit his versatility as a producer, as well as a platform to showcase the wealth of the emerging talent which he has been pushing in his DJ sets.

Packed with three original tracks from Patrick, the EP-titled 'Watch What Ya Doing ' comes with the launch of his label TRICK and as a much anticipated follow up to the late 2017 Hot Creations smash 'Be Sharp Say Nowt', which continued to dominate throughout 2018. A year which proved another hugely successful one for the UK producer who was called on for the remix duties for Calvin Harris and added Music Radar 's ' Best House Producer/DJ 2018' ' and his third DJ Award for Tech House Artist to his list of accolade that include his DJ Mag ' Best of British ' award and reaching number 11 in Resident Advisor 's 2016 top DJs poll.

This debut release on TRICK showcases a change in sound from the acclaimed artist and an evolution of Patrick 's ever-maturing style. The British DJ displays a new style as a producer, one which has always been a part of his genre-hopping DJ sets, but for the first time as a producer, Patrick delivered an EP packed with darker techno undertones and raw influences.

The imprint's launch follows the British producer's sell-out headline shows at Manchester Academy, two consecutive nights Dublin's District 8, London institution fabric, his very own takeover at The Warehouse Project and as far as Melbourne's huge Shed 14 . Entering a refined and developed chapter of his career, the announcement follows Patrick' s Boxing Day set at Digital, Newcastle , the last ever party in his acclaimed Motion event series, with the UK producer looking to support and nurture emerging talent in future via the launch of ' TRICK.'

Virtuoso compositions, subtle synthetic atmospheres, voices oscillating between pure intentions and dreamlike fantasy, a confusion of feelings and desires, time and space...Garden of Love, the 3rd album by electro duo Scratch Massive makes an impression from the first moments that you hear its enigmatic beauty. Like a ghost train moving along a tightrope - between shadow and light, failure and redemption, violence and melancholy - this fourth studio album reaffirms the Parisian DJ/Producer duo style/vibe with their hybrid sounds and sensory experiences. For 15 years, Maud Geffray and Sebastien Chenut have maintained artistic and aesthetic control as they participated in the 'revolution of the dancefloors'. In the early 2000s, 'Made in France' electro became known for its hedonism and as the savior of an entire techno generation ready to fight (or at least on the dancefloor!) for a future that was increasingly frustrating and hypothetical.


On first glance, Garden of Love, appears to be an invitation to love and peace, however, nothing is ever that simple, as the album cover evokes a multitude of interpretations. The lyrics speak to the depths of the soul, covering a range of emotion from love, emotions, and fears ... Garden of Love is for our hearts and bodies to become receptive again: the disenchanted poetry of the Last Dance, the sumptuous opening track set against a backdrop of electro-pop murmured in the light and shadows as painful caress; the psychedelic scent of Sunken (a duet recorded with the complicit and poisonous voice of Léonie Pernet); and the dark-tech shores of "Fantome X" with the evanescent and hypnotic pop clarity of Feel The Void (both magnified by the vocals of Romain Thominot of the Reims pop band Grindi Manberg). Scratch Massive draws the outline of an electronic music in search of redemption - reinventing their icy grooves and confronting it with a naive elegance and a disillusioned romanticism that embodies our time.

In September 2016 Chouk Bwa met the Brussels-based duo The Ångstromers. A traditional Haitian Mizik Rasin — roots music — band, Chouk Bwa, formerly Chouk Bwa Libète, realizes the source of a drum and dance style using percussion and call-and-response vocals that are infused with Haitian Vodou.

'Chouk Bwa' means 'Root' in Haitian Creole. Three percussionists and two dancers are led by composer Jean Claude 'Sambaton' Dorvil on vocals and the fer, an iron bar/bell that announces different rhythms employed to call up the spirits, assisted by Gomez 'Djopipi' Henris.

Chouk Bwa display the deep African heritage of Haiti, torn from Africa and secretly re-planted in a new land. The band members speak for Haiti, a nation that has seen the hardest of times and maintains a relentless spirit and strength through its culture.

The two tracks were selected from the first meeting with the Ångstromers at Café Central, Brussels, recorded live in September 2016. Modular synths and other vintage electronic instruments bring another dimension to Chouk Bwa's music.

David Marston is a producer, DJ, musician, and guitarist hailing from the vibrant Caribbean island of Jamaica. He takes a multifaceted approach to his music, and has worked to achieve a sound that is a fusion of multiple genres, including, but not limited to, house, hip-hop, disco, jazz, as well as reggae. During a six-month stint in Jamaica in 2016, Marston reconnected with a close friend and fellow musician, Craig Williamson, and the pair began writing music that would become the basis of Marston's first full length album. With the album set to be released in early 2019, Marston has endeavored to put together a special 12" to showcase the club-friendly side of his music with a selection of the album's dance cuts.

The A-side of the vinyl kicks off with the title track, "Feeling You", which features Williamson's crooning voice over a hypnotic instrumental characterized by a swirling arpeggiated synth, punchy bass hits, and stomping drums. To round off the A-side, Italian DJ and production duo, Lowheads, give the aforementioned track a fresh makeover with their lively classic house remix and dub version. The flip side of the record consists of two instrumental tracks. The first, "Ragamuffin", is a mesmerizing four to the floor tune constructed around an Indian raga sample. The final number, "On My Mind" is an off-kilter house groove with rolling keys, garage style drums, and a soaring lead. Taken together, the 12" album 'sampler' is a robust yet tantalising collection of club-ready tunes.

Proving herself to be equally strong a producer as she is a selector, Ascetic presents four tracks that exemplify the broad spectral soundscapes of Anastasia Kristensen's style. While it may have its roots in techno, Ascetic offers a multitude of audio dimensions to explore.

From the skeletal noise techno of 'LXR Jam', the brazen hardcore flex of 'Ascetic' and its breakbeat counterpart 'Ascetic (In Breaks)' and the industrial/dub tech-noir of 'Donni', Ascetic EP is the perfect accompaniment to the whirlwind of emboldened intensity witnessed at Anastasia's international DJ sets every week.

Set to be one of 2019's strongest debuts, Ascetic's four tracks show that when it comes to genre and composition, Anastasia Kristensen has no intention of staying in one lane.

For their next trick, Get Physical treats everyone to a taste of their latest big project, India Gets Physical, with a single from Kone Kone that includes remixes from Reboot and Todh Teri (who will be curating and mixing the bumper forthcoming compilation). Mumbai's Kone Kone has an unconventional DJ style, creating audio-visual productions that are 'a new route to discover old media.' Kone Kone's electronic sounds explore Indian musical practices with a lo-fi finish, including references taken from disco, funky basslines and rolling toms. This superb latest track is a tribute to Indian cinema's '80s dance music. Entitled 'Come Closer,' it is a brilliantly loose and louche house track propped up by elastic bass. A whole world of instrumentation and exotic percussion enrich the groove while female vocal coos and soulful pads bring rich colours to lift the listener. Remixer Todh Teri is behind the acclaimed Deep In India release series and is at theheart of the revival of Indian cinematic sounds, where Bollywood sounds are reworkedfor the modern dance floor. His brilliant version has heavier drums doing big loops and pulling you further in each time as the synths bring cosmic vibes. Last of all, label stalwart Reboot's Muscleflexx Remix is darker and more edgy, with late night dance floors in mind as the pulsing synths and slippery drums gradually unravel. This is a great introduction to the next exciting chapter in Get Physical's country- focused compilation series.

Nikolajev is a Tallinn, Estonia based producer, DJ, half of Dima-Disk with Ragnar Rahouja and co-founder of the club Kauplus Aasia and the now legendary Lekker before that.

His 'LEL' EP on Incienso is a diverse four tracker containing many moods and styles - All recorded live in single takes. Erol Alkan welcomes Joshua James to Phantasy for his debut release 'Coarse' featuring The Bunker NY producer Justin Cudmore on remix duties.

A fixture of London's dedicated queer club scene, James maintains a trio of distinct residencies, including XOYO, the notorious 'Savage' parties, as well as fortnightly on Rinse FM. On this unapologetic and upfront track, the DJ-turned-producer instantaneously captures the raw energy and sexuality that underpin his life by night, backed by a remix from a key figure in the US underground, Justin Cudmore.

Designed with sweatboxes and serious sound-systems in mind, 'Coarse' wastes no time in establishing its rude intent; hammering jack-bass, orgasmic cut-up vocals and larger-than-life synthlines flirt expertly from the off, before the track descends into outright sleaze in the spirit the of gnarlier edge of acid-house. Only a series of breathless gasps indicate you've safely reached the other side... A personal weapon for James each week behind the decks, as well as for Phantasy founder, Erol Alkan, 'Coarse' is a powerful dancefloor paean with only one (well, maybe two) things on its mind.

Having turned heads with his own uncompromising acidic perspectives on labels such as The Bunker NY, Phonica White and Honey Soundsystem, New York-based DJ and producer Justin Cudmore unfurls 'Coarse' in a trippier, deeper direction, nonetheless still bumping in a style that subtly recalls the peak-time sound of classic 90s NYC clubs like The Tunnel.

The 'Insights' EP is Spinscott's second release on the US based Elm Imprint label, as a highly anticipated follow up to the internationally successful 'Make It Funky / Lovelight' single. 'Insights' features 3 tracks that represent a progression of styles, and satisfies the demand for Classic Jungle sounds, fresh Drum And Bass, and deep '160' flavors.

Side A: 'Phaseout' - This forward-thinking Drum And Bass tune starts out with a moody & mixable intro, staccato drums and bass hits, before dropping into a precisely arranged dancefloor rhythm. Impact exceeds maximum threshold after the break, with the injection of an unexpected layered kick pattern, which has proven to leave no one standing still! But don't mix out too soon... the final phase features an exclusive drum break sourced from a family 45 pressing, circa 1968, sliced and reworked for it's debut appearance here.
