Thawra Records and Tiny House Music are proud to announce Nafas, the debut original album by Palestinian vocalist, researcher, and composer Salwa Jaradat, set for release in March 2026.
Rooted in a traditional Arabic singing practice yet shaped by a layered and deeply personal artistic journey, Nafas marks a powerful first statement from an artist whose work moves between heritage, research, and lived experience. The album emerges from years of musical and feminist inquiry, giving renewed breath to voices, emotions, and histories that have long existed on the margins.

Salwa Jaradat’s artistic formation is grounded in classical Arabic music and oral tradition, with studies at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Palestine and later in musicology in Lebanon. Alongside her work as a performer, researcher, and archivist, she has developed a practice that treats music as a space of memory, resistance, and continuity. These threads converge in Nafas—an album that does not seek to modernize tradition, but rather to inhabit it differently, allowing it to speak in the present tense.
Developed through an intensive artistic residency in Lebanon, Nafas brings together a core ensemble of regional musicians, with Jaradat’s voice at its center—measured, expansive, and deeply intentional. Across six compositions, the album unfolds patiently, moving between stillness and momentum, intimacy and collectivity, breath and release.
Nafas will be released digitally and on vinyl, reinforcing Thawra Records and Tiny House Music’s ongoing commitment to long-form artistic statements and physical formats as vessels for care, depth, and listening.

Having edited and remixed numerous cuts in their own original ways, they take this all-time Salsoul classic and strip it right back to the essence, to the very basics, and in the process create a total dancefloor weapon. Denmark s forward forward-thinking trio Human Being Human return with a luminous new collaboration featuring acclaimed American saxophonist Chris Cheek. Rooted in lyricism, groove, and connection, Being captures the essence of what it means to create music as a shared act of humanity. Formed by bassist Torben Bjornskov, pianist Esben Tjalve, and drummer Frederik Bülow, Human Being Human have quickly earned a reputation as one of Europe s most distinctive piano trios. Their blend of Nordic lyricism and modern rhythmic vitality has drawn international acclaim for its compositional voice and cohesive ensemble sound. On Being , the trio expand their world through the unmistakable voice of Chris Cheek - a player known for his warm tone and intuitive lyricism, whose credits include work with Paul Motian, Brad Mehldau, and Charlie Haden. A long long-time admirer of Cheek s work and humility, Bjornskov reached out and invited him to Denmark to collaborate with the trio. In the studio, the chemistry was undeniable, as most of the album s tracks were captured in just one or two takes, preserving a sense of immediacy and spontaneity. Danish bassist and composer Jesper Thorn has become one of Scandinavia s most distinctive musical voices, known for blending introspective storytelling with the understated lyricism of Nordic jazz. His award award-winning albums Boy and Dragor earned international praise for their emotional honesty and cinematic depth, establishing a sound world where fragility, melancholy, and quiet beauty intertwine. A deeply personal meditation on the search for calm, connection, and meaning in a world that often feels overwhelming, the album continues his exploration of sound as refuge, a place to pause, reflect, and breathe. Joined by long long-term collaborators Marc Méan (piano), Andreas Bernitt (violin), Cecilie Strange (saxophone), and Maj Berit Guassora (trumpet), Thorn reunites with producer Mette Damm and engineer August Wanngren to craft an atmosphere both intimate and expansive. Where 2023" s Dragor confronted the ghosts of Thorn s past, STILLE (meaning quiet " or silent " in Danish) looks outward - and inward - toward reflection. For me, music has always been a refuge, Thorn writes. It s a place where I can reflect and immerse myself - both as a listener and, maybe even more, as a composer. Each composition functions as a kind of musical still image : fragments of emotion captured in time, responding to both the chaos and fragile beauty of the modern world. From the flickering calm of Fragmentarium , to the urgent, primal fear of Run (written as wildfires swept through California) to the tender domestic peace of Stilleben , these pieces balance melancholy and hope in equal measure. Thorn s writing continues to thrive on collaboration and trust. Such is Fate emerged from a discarded melodic fragment, reimagined through the expressive playing of Bernitt on violin. Recover and Rebuild form a quiet hymn to resilience, with Guassora and Strange lending understated, breath breath-like power to the ensemble. The closing track, Shimmering (for MM) MM), is dedicated to pianist Marc Méan, a constant presence in Thorn s projects since 2014 and, as Thorn puts it, the touch and sound I hear in my head when I compose ". I wanted to create a space that feels like silence, peace and quiet in a noisy world that often moves faster than it feels possible to keep up with. says Thorn.

Stef Heeren, driving force of Belgian band Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat, is embarking on a special reunion concert series with his original folk ensemble to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the band’s acclaimed album, Hewers of Wood and Drawers of Water. Arguably their finest work in their discography, the album was the pinnacle of the band's folk-oriented sound, after which they tapped into more electronic territories.

The initial vinyl pressing (and cd) of Hewers of Wood and Drawers of Water, released in 2011, has long been sold out and now fetches excessive prices on the secondhand market. To mark this milestone, the album will be reissued in early 2026 as a limited-edition vinyl on KTAOABC’s own imprint, Kattengat.
With this re-release on the horizon, Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat is eager to hit the road once more, revisiting their folk roots and performing the songs that defined their earlier years. The concerts will not only celebrate the album Hewers of Wood and Drawers of Water, but also offer a chance to explore the full spectrum of the band's career, from their folk beginnings to their more modern, electronic explorations.

RYOZO BAND’s New Single “QUIET FOG / FUGITIVE” Coming to 7-Inch Vinyl!

Following their previous release Pleasure and a remix by French beatmaker Lex (de Kalhex) that drew attention from multiple directions, RYOZO BAND
kicks off 2026 with a two track single available on streaming and 7-inch vinyl.
The lead track, “Quiet Fog,” is a mid tempo piece highlighted by a powerful horn ensemble, with an awe-inspiring saxophone solo that steals the spotlight.
It’s a track that showcases the band’s evolving groove and ensemble maturity.
Released simultaneously with the 7-inch, “Fugitive” is a cover of a hidden gem by Jamaica’s legendary ska band The Skatalites.
While paying homage to the original, RYOZO BAND reimagines it with their signature energy and dynamism, delivering an uptempo arrangement full of drive
and vitality. The result is an energetic yet sophisticated sound that promises to ignite live audiences.

Helsinki bassist Antti Lötjönen follows up his 2020 We Jazz Records debut LP with a new 7" introducing a fresh version of key album cut "Erzeben Strasse" and throws in a wild treatment by Petter Eldh's Koma Saxo on the flipside. "Erzeben Strasse" presents Lötjönen's Quintet East lineup in fine form, swinging steadily but also adding enough sideways movement to blur the lines just a little bit. The band features a stellar Finnish cast in Lötjönen (bass), Verneri Pohjola (trumpet), Mikko Innanen (baritone sax), Jussi Kannaste (tenor sax) and Joonas Riippa (drums).

The Koma Saxo treatment of the track, dubbed here as "Erzeben Koma" is full of fire. Uplifting, a bit hectic, beat-driven and jubilant, Eldh's band of brothers double the ensemble heard on Side A, both sampling and adding new recording into the mix. The entire Koma Saxo live band is featured here: Eldh (bass/production), Otis Sandsjö (tenor sax), Jonas Kullhammar (tenor sax), Innanen (alto sax) and Christian Lillinger (drums). The modern sound of Helsinki meet Mauerpark Liquid Jazz.

Rich musical history of Yugoslavia reveals a long-lasting love for the music of Latin America.
Entwined in Afro-Cuban rhythms, ballrooms were shakin', swayin' and swingin', gathering musicians who were heavily into jazz bands and orchestras, most notably in Ljubljana, Zagreb, and Belgrade. Jazz could be heard on the streets of Split way back in 1919 when dancing became a symbol of freedom. Radio was the most loved household item, newest sheet music was in demand and collecting records was hip like today. In the aftermath of Second World War, jazz went underground but little by little, things changed and Ella, Satchmo, Dizzy and Miles came to visit, among others. Music festivals shaped the music for entertainment and variety of popular styles showed influences from all over the world. In the early sixties, one particular rhythm crashed on the coast of the Adriatic Sea: the rhythm of bossa nova!

In the whirlwind of various musical styles, Latin American music still played important part of the scene in the early sixties Yugoslavia. Beguine, tango, rhumba, samba, calypso, mambo and cha-cha-cha all found their place on the festivals inspired by famous Sanremo, festival of Italian popular song that largely shaped the musical taste of Europe. It was the era of instrumental rock, R & B and rock'n'roll - sounds of "imperialist America" now played freely on imported and hand-made electric guitars. While dancing halls had been turning into concert venues, bossa nova has come! Eydie Gorme with Blame It on the Bossa Nova and Paul Anka with Eso Besso (That Kiss!) tried to make us learn some new dance moves but it was Joao Gilberto's gentle singing and his new way of playing samba songs, along with Tom Jobim's modern dissonant harmonies and poetry of Vinicius de Moraes that created the magic. When American alto saxophonist and flautist Bud Shank visited Zagreb and Ljubljana in 1963 (with Boško Petrović in his quintet) "it was the first time we heard bossa nova!" remembers Stjepan Braco Fučkar. Jugoton, the biggest record company in Yugoslavia, released 4-track EP Bossa Nova by Bogdan Dimitrijević and his ensemble that same year! While not being fully accepted or understood completely, the archives of Jugoton reveal to us various interpretations of this new trend from their vast catalogue.

But few are aware that, between the late 1960s and the late 1980s, Italy wrote a parallel one — spontaneous, surprising, and incredibly creative.

It is a story that spans two distinct seasons: the Italian disco of the 1970s — melodic, handmade, sometimes naïve yet always original — and the emerging Italo Disco of the 1980s, electronic, futuristic, and lightheartedly projected toward the future.
Two different languages, yet both driven by the same desire for freedom and modernity. Discoteca Sound — Italian Discoteca Underground 1975–1986 brings together 18 rare tracks — including two previously unreleased — that tell this story of transition: from the orchestral and sentimental disco of Italian dance halls to the synthetic and visionary sound of the first drum machines.
A journey through private archives, local labels, regional studios, and forgotten voices — the sonic map of a country that has always danced, but to its own rhythm. From Mediterranean disco to the first Italo Disco, from the dim lights of provincial dance halls to the early home synthesizers, each track opens a window onto an Italy that dreamed of the dance floor as a universal language of connection during the brief season of revolutionary utopias.

This compilation celebrates ten years of work by Disco Segreta — a decade dedicated to the research, recovery, and appreciation of Italian disco and electronic culture. An act of justice owed to all those artists who had their moment yet were never remembered by history — bringing back to light an essential, still too little known part of our musical heritage.
Because dancing today remains, more than ever, a living act of memory.

Commemorate's self-titled debut album blends swirling guitars and dreamy vocals to create a hypnotic yet weightless sound, a longing that swells and fades gently. Emerging from Kuala Lumpur's hazy musical depths, Commemorate is a 5-piece ensemble creating their own ethereal soundscapes, while taking heavy influences from shoegaze titans and infusing modern dreampop with post-rock sensibilities. Available in clear and black vinyl.

‘No Fixed Point In Space’, the third full-length album by Jack Cooper’s Modern Nature, takes the palette of sound and themes that were honed on 2021’s ‘Island Of Noise’ and launches them into an expansive world of openness and vivid technicolour.

It’s a music that hasn’t been heard before; as melodic as anything Cooper has produced but framed by rhythms and instrumentation that reflect the chaos, unpredictability and colour of the natural world.

Certain moorings - woodwind, percussion, strings and Cooper’s lambent voice - are still present and recognisable from No Fixed Point In Space’s predecessor, ‘Island Of Noise’, but the new record marks a shift to utilising musical notation as a point of departure, from which the group explore the space around suggested notes and rhythms to create a semiimprovised, semi-composed ensemble performance.

These explorations of partly organised chance were recorded live and directly to tape.

This approach gives the music a remarkably fresh feel; songs pulse and evolve. The changes between movements, verse and choruses are almost all ambiguous. During the album’s opener, ‘Tonic’, a verse of hushed brevity washes away into a passage of overwhelmingly vibrant orchestration.

Santa Fiebre return with a new 45 on Acid Jazz’s Fingier Records, with producer Kevin Fingier at the helm. The Argentine Rhythm & Soul outfit turned heads with their label debut last year, double-sider ‘Earthsplosion’ / ‘That’s Where We Go’, and here they offer two new, explosive original sides.

Over the past few years, Kevin Fingier has released a series of hard-hitting, high-selling 7” singles, on his own Acid Jazz-group imprint, along with a compilation LP and an original album. He is known for his authentic 60s R&B sound, with a distinctly Latin touch. ‘Waterfalls’ sees Santa Fiebre move into funkier, late-60s territory, with a percussive beat and driving horns accompanying a wonderful, soulful vocal.

Meanwhile, ‘Pain of Sights’ is a characteristic Soul/R&B crossover smash, guaranteed to hit at a club night. Another modern classic from the man in Buenos Aires and this brilliant ensemble.

Reimagined and with expanded production including strings and brass, this edition is a considered re-engagement with the material that first crystallised EF's voice. The band returns to thesesongs with the benefit of twenty years' craft, presenting new arrangements that stretch time and deepen narrative, while retaining the quiet-to-catharsis arc that has always set their music apart. "Since it's our precious first born we wanted to give it the love it surely deserves. We felt we didn't want to celebrate its big 20th birthday by just remastering it and we surely didn't want to make the songs too modern and unrecognisable for the old fans.
