This 1997 compilation collects three of Entombed's classic EPs in full (namely, 1991's Crawl, 1992's Stranger Aeons and 1994's Out Of Hand) alongside some other rarities and unreleased gems. Featuring a diverse array of covers of bands like Repulsion, Kiss, Unsane and Roky Erickson alongside the band's own material, this compilation gives a great insight into the myriad of influences that went into creating Entombed's unique sound.

For well over a decade, MONOLORD have caused mass riff hypnosis with longform epics steeped in repetition, volume, and heaviness. One of heavy music’s most consistent and beloved bands, MONOLORD are gearing up for their next chapter with a new album titled Neverending. In looking for a new take on the genre, MONOLORD approached the legendary producer Sylvia Massy, known for her work with Tool, System of a Down, and Johnny Cash, among many more. The payoff from this new process is undeniable. Neverending feels like the culmination of 13 years of heavy, molten music, with a keen eye towards creating a sharper album. “The recording of this album is an example of the spirit of MONOLORD’s camaraderie,” says bassist Mika Häkki. “We’ve looked back and seen for the first time how much we have done as a band collectively, and realized what an intense 13 years it has been.” "The lyrics on this album are more personal than before because I went through some major life changes in the last couple of years,” guitarist/vocalist Thomas Jäger says. “I usually write about religion and how people are superstitious, but this record is more about relationships between people. But it’s not all about me. Sometimes I’m writing from another person’s perspective.” Neverending’s lead single “You Bastard” offers listeners a sharp contrast: A propulsive groove offset by lyrics about suicide. There’s two sides to suicide,” Jäger points out. “There’s the person who commits suicide and the people who gets left behind...The choruses represent the person left behind, and that person is calling the other a bastard—but it’s not pointing fingers or saying, ‘You suck.’ It’s more like, ‘You left me here with all the bullshit.’ It’s an understanding that life is not easy." Though it might not be immediately obvious, album opener “Iodine” was inspired by 70's rock epics like Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird,” The Eagles’ “Hotel California,” and Led Zeppelin’s “No Quarter." Elsewhere, album closer “It’s Neverending” is the first MONOLORD song that Jäger doesn’t sing on. Instead, the death-metal style vocals are performed by former Entombed bassist Jörgen Sandström, (also of Grave, Domedagen and Firespawn.) 13 years on, MONOLORD’s path takes a new turn, and Neverending becomes the band’s most befitting album title. “It's been a wild ride and still is,” says drummer Esben Willems. “I've spent a quarter of my life in this band. Looking back, I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished along the way, and in many ways, this album feels like the essence of everything we've done so far. My mindset is the same it's always been, to be the absolute best the three of us can be.”

Was ein fieses Brett kommt da aus dem Münsterland! Ein Biest von einer Platte, aggressiv, maximal bissig, nah am Overdrive-Exzess! Aber der Reihe nach - No Shelter waren scheinbar nur mir noch Unbekannte, so kam es mir auf jeden Fall vor, nachdem ich Professor Hagemann nach seiner Meinung zu den 5 Emsdettenern gefragt hab. Ungläubig wurde ich gefragt, ob ich die tatsächlich noch nicht mal live gesehen hätte. Es schien, als hätte der Biermetalgott sein Prüfzeichen schon vor Jahren an No Shelter vergeben. Und so steht also fest: hier kann nix schiefgehen. Und so überzeugt auch "Remission/Resolve" nach "Rest In Death" (2020) und "Erasing Life" (2022) in allen Belangen - wenn man ein Faible für Bands wie Trap Them, Nails oder Entombed hat, wird man hier sicherlich ein diebisches Grinsen ins Gesicht bekommen. Aufgenommen in der Tonmeisterei hämmern No Shelter in 12 Akten mit dem ganz großen Holzhammer auf unseren Nervenenden rum - es finden tatsächlich ziemlich viele Spielarten modernerer Extremmusik ihr Plätzchen im Oevre der Jungs - langsam, zerstörerisch kaputt, Malmend, rasend, im D-Beat-Galopp fräsen sie sich in den Gehörgang. Es ist eine tiefe Verbeugung vor den End 80er/Anfang 90er Schwedenmetal-Freunden, ein Hohenlied auf den HM2-Zerrer, der eine ganze Generation junger Deathmetaler in Schwingung gebracht hat.

The fourth album by the Frank Popp Ensemble, will be released on Unique Records. Written. recorded and produced in Spain in 2024. As with the predecessor ,Shifting", various guest singers can be heard on the lI brand new tracks.

Gerry Love, once the lead singer of the legendary Teenage Fanclub, who, according to Popp, wrote and sang almost al of the Glasgow cult band's favorite songs. lends his captivating voice to an orchestral, soulful version of "Save", a rather unknown but brilliant piece that Love wrote for the Scots in 2004. Gerard Love already contributed a cover of Frank Popp's "The World Is Waiting" to the "Under Covers" compilation and has now done another wonderful job on Waves.
Another hero from Popp's record collection is Nicke Andersson. Formerly a drummer with the death &rollers Entombed. then singer of the incomparable Hellacopters and mastermind behind other top bands such as The Solution, Imperial State Electric, Lucifer, etc., can be heard on "Caught In AWeb". A Northern Soul stomper in classic "Magic Touch" mania.
Emma Noble, an up-and-coming soul singer from London sings on the girl-groupish soul anthem "Unstoppable". The second single from the album has what it takes to be the next UK floor filler and was already played and praised on Craig Charles' Soul Show on BBC a t the end of 2024.
An absolutely exceptional artist is J Mahon, who can be heard on 5 tracks on the album and contributed significantly to the album. His sweet voice works on his songs as well as on "Going Going Gone", which is the first single release and is reminiscent of certain young Motown artists in the early 70s with its catchy brass hooks and j's androgynous soul vocals.
Audrey Ollesen from Cologne, an old buddy from the Rhineland mod scene, joined by chance after Popp became aware of her singing skills through private recordings. On "Common Stranger" Audrey can be heard on a recording for the first time.

God Macabre gründeten sich Ende der 80er Jahre unter dem Namen Macabre End. 1991 änderten sie ihren Namen in God Macabre und
veröffentlichten einen Song für die Pantalgia-Compilation und ein Album über das kleine deutsche Label Mangled Beyond Recognition Records, bevor
sie sich auflösten. Ursprünglich in 1993 veröffentlicht, wurde "The Winterlong" 1991 in den legendären Sunlight Studios in Stockholm aufgenommen
und von Tomas Skogsberg (Amorphis, At The Gates, Entombed) produziert. Die Wiederveröffentlichung von "The Winterlong", die nun vollständig
remastered und wieder erhältlich ist, enthält außerdem vier Bonus-Tracks, darunter das ursprüngliche 7"-Demo der Band aus dem Jahr 1990 sowie
den bisher unveröffentlichten Track "Life's Verge", die erste neue GodMacabre-Aufnahme seit über 20 Jahren.

Endlich die Wiederveröffentlichung dieses High-Energy-Punkrock Klassikers, der internationalen Band, die aus Scott Morgan (Sonic's Rendezvous Band, Solution...), Nicke Royale (The Hellacopters, Imperial State Electric, Entombed...) und Tony Slug (Loveslug) besteht. Mit Scott Morgan von Sonic's Rendezvous Band (neben Fred "Sonic" Smith von den MC5) haben die Hydromatics eine echte Detroiter Legende in ihren Reihen. Morgan gründete die BAND 1998 zusammen mit Nicke Royale (The Hellacopters) und dem Gitarristen Tony Slug (Loveslug) und veröffentlichte '99 dieses großartiges Debütalbum mit dem Titel Parts Unknown, das den Motor City-Rock-Sound vergangener Tage in Form eines modernen Power-Punk-Rawk-Outfits wieder aufleben ließ und nun endlich wiederveröffentlicht wird. Hailing from the hallowed city that birthed classic death metal acts such as Entombed, Dismember and Unleashed before them, Stockholm, Sweden’s XORSIST are preparing to release their sophomore album, At the Somber Steps of Serenity, via Prosthetic Records in October. Following their self-released debut album Deadly Possession in 2022, XORSIST caught the attention of the Los Angeles metal label with their old school approach to and affinity for Sweden’s death metal legacy and history. Founded by Gustav Ryderfelt (vocals and guitar) before cementing their line-up with both Birk Castenmalm (vocals and bass) and Alphonse Bouquelon (drums), XORSIST’s core sound is one rooted in deep reverence for the genre’s roots as much as it is a spirited progression of the raw and uncompromising Stockholm sound. Seeking to continue their working relationship with the legendary Sunlight Studios (Dismember, At The Gates, Entombed, Grave and more), XORSIST once again opted to retain Tomas Skogsberg on co-production duties with Iñaki Marconi (Soen, Sepultura, Carcass). Recently reformed Swedish death metal pioneers DISMEMBER are proud to announce that they have once again joined the ranks of NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS, where they released their demo, Reborn In Blasphemy (1990), their 1991 debut album, Like An Everflowing Stream, as well as the four records that would follow. Between 1988 and 2011 DISMEMBER earned a notorious reputation as the “Motörhead (version) of death metal”, through eight classic albums and furious live shows around the globe. The band was formed by Robert Sennebäck, David Blomqvist and Fred Estby in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1988 and has long since been regarded as one of the originators of the trademark Swedish death metal sound, next to other pioneering bands such as ENTOMBED, GRAVE and UNLEASHED. DISMEMBER recorded a couple of self-released demos before their 1990 demo cassette, Reborn In Blasphemy, with Matti Kärki on vocals and ENTOMBED's Nicke Andersson taking over most lead guitar parts, got picked up for a wider release by NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS. In 1991, their first full-length, Like An Everflowing Stream (Nuclear Blast Records), saw the light of day, which was recorded by Tomas Skogsberg at the now legendary Sunlight Studios, and featured Richard Cabeza (UNANIMATED) on bass. DISMEMBER released their acclaimed sophomore album, Indecent & Obscene, in 1993, which to this day remains their most successful output.

Released in 1997, the fourth studio album by Sweden's DISMEMBER totally lives up to its title, and provides a harsher, more aggressive sound than its predecessor. Including a barrage of great tracks like 'Misanthropic', 'Of Fire', 'Silent Are The Watchers', it also marked the debut of drummer Fred Estby as producer. This remaster by Patrick W. Engel adds an impressive additional punch resulting in the ultimate version of this classic.

Since their self-titled debut in 2015 and in 2020’s cinematic-storytelling breakout, Divine Filth, the Canadian outfit have tapped into wind-through-hair freedom and careened down open roads of groove, not a cop in sight. Their third record, Chaos and the Art of Motorcycle Madness, more than lives up to its name on all fronts. And we want to get loaded.” That line, from Roger Corman’s 1966 film The Wild Angels, serves as a mission statement, and as “Lucifer’s Bend” starts by laughing about how you can’t get away from Satan, they might as well carve it into their forearms to be ready when the blast of distortion hits, as much Entombed as Motörhead, galloping and sinister, coated in road dust and blood. “Come, Sweet Death” alternates between brutality and winding single string melodies that brings you back to the golden age of Swedish Death Metal! They say that the more things change the more they stay the same. If there’s one thing that has remained stable despite living in 2023 is that we love Swedish Death Metal. The style has become a favorite of ours over the past 35 years. Something about the guitar tone just makes you want to devour any release that can be described as “Inspired by early Entombed and Dismember”. The good thing is that there’s an incredible wealth of bands that draw from that well. The bad thing is that said wealth leads to a lot of bands becoming indistinguishable due to how same they are. Thankfully, Imperishable’s “Come, Sweet Death” manages to stand out from the pack, in no small part due to breaking away from the genre’s usual trappings. And in a way this is no surprise since the band members were or are involved in Vampire, Portrait, Nominon and Dr. Living Dead! As you might have already gathered, the band draws a lot from the Stockholm scene, more specifically Dismember, that is undeniable. What’s really interesting though is that they draw from their later, and more melodic influenced era as much as from the early days. Imperishable, like their peers effortlessly blends the aggressive buzzsaw riffing with leads brimming with melody, which most modern bands in the style avoid in favor of pure aggression. Said blend can be seen throughout their debut album, though it can be felt more on the longer tracks, like “Teeth of the Hydra” and “Fangs”, where the band has more room to develop their ideas and mix grinding Death Metal with NWOBHM-inspired leads and riffs. In short: Imperishable has great songs, great melodies, well-arranged structures and still is brutal, just like the great old bands were. And the production is spot on for this release. It is good to hear a band experiment beyond the confines of the original old school Swedish Death Metal sound. “Come, Sweet Death” is an extremely promising release, and a small breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale scene. Imperishable’s love for the more melodic aspects of the style make them worth keeping an eye on now and in future.

Glücklicherweise gelingt es lmperishable mit "Come, Sweet Death", aus der Masse herauszustechen, was nicht zuletzt daran liegt, dass sie sich von den üblichen Merkmalen des Genres lösen. Und in gewisser Weise ist das keine Überraschung, denn die Bandmitglieder waren oder sind an Vampire, Portrait, Nominon und Dr. Living Dead beteiligt! Wie Sie vielleicht schon gemerkt haben, hat die Band vieleEinflüsse aus der Stockholmer Szene, insbesondere von Dismember, was nicht zu leugnen ist

In Eigenregie produzeiert und gemischt und gemastert von Tomasz Zed Zalewski in den Zed Studios in Chechło, Polen, haben DIETH die früheren Genre-Stereotype hinter sich gelassen und setzen nun neue, ganz eigene Akzente. Avalon Emerson & the Charm is an evolution. Created during an extended break from the hectic blur of her life as a touring DJ, the album is a personal statement of intent from an artist who’s long looked beyond the club for inspiration. It’s also the first time that Emerson has put herself, her emotions and, most notably, her voice fully into the spotlight.

Having spent her entire career working more or less alone, Emerson purposely sought out a small cast of like-minded artists to help bring the album to life. A Chief among them was UK avant-pop savant Bullion, who executive produced the record and, most importantly, shares both Emerson’s predilection for shimmering pop melodies and her boundary- less approach to music-making.

Swedish metal guitar hero is part of many projects,
such as Massacre, Stygian Dark, Heir Corpse
One, Warmagic, Revolting, Megascavenger,
Ribspreader, Putrevore, Blood Gut, Dead Sun,
Graveyard After Graveyard, Necrogod and most
recently To The Gallows.
 This compilation album isn’t a sum up of songs
from other albums. Rogga did some work on old
songs and recorded them again with a little twist,
especially for Doc Records. He also dug into his
vault to find some never-released songs, so it’s
much more than just a compilation.

Formed in 1998 with a mutual fascination for horror & the glory days of death
metal from classic bands such as Entombed, Morbid Angel, Cancer & Autopsy,
Bloodbath has remained a leading light of extreme metal since their 'Breeding
Death' EP was unleashed back in 2000, & a formidable force for over 20 years,
cemented in recent times by their 'Grand Morbid Funeral' (2014) opus & its followup, the even blacker- hearted 'The Arrow of Satan is Drawn' in 2018. 'Breeding
Death' was the original catalyst to propel Bloodbath into the death metal sphere
with full force. Primarily dedicated to recreating the buzzsaw, high-energy sound
of mainly Swedish greats such as Entombed, Carnage & Dismember, 'Breeding
Death' was pure death metal worship to reignite the fading old school essence of
brutality as the 21st century dawned.
Bloodbath's initial line- up consisted of Anders Nyström & Jonas Renkse of
'Katatonia' joined by Mikael Akerfeldt of 'Opeth' on vocals & completed by Dan
Swanö of 'Edge of Sanity' on drums. The EP was recorded at The Sanctuary in
Sweden, with production & mixing duties also handled by Dan Swanö.
This edition of 'Breeding Death' is presented on mid-price CD & includes bonus
tracks in the shape of demo versions of the songs 'Breeding Death' & 'Ominous
Bloodvomit'.

Dieses Album hat den klassischen schwedischen Stil des Death Metal der frühen 90er Jahre. Es ist sehr stark an die alten Entombed und Dismember angelehnt, aber sie haben ihren eigenen Sound. Die Riffs sind frisch und tödlich, ebenso wie die Energie, die diese Veröffentlichung umgibt.

Das musikalische Können ist unübertrefflich und es ist großartig, dass der schwedische Death Metal-Sound in Bands wie Entrails lebendig geblieben ist. Die Musik ist geradezu brutal, der Gesang und die Gitarrenriffs sind explosiv. Wir würden es wagen zu sagen, dass dies eine Top-Veröffentlichung für das Jahr 2011 ist.

Für eine Band, die fast 20 Jahre lang im Dornröschenschlaf lag, sind sie ziemlich stark zurückgekommen und haben einige der Wurzeln des alten Landes mitgebracht. Ist dieser Sound bereits nahezu perfekt umgesetzt worden? Ja, aber man könnte Entrails eine kleine Gnadenfrist gewähren, denn im Ernst, sie sind einfach wahnsinnig schwer und schrecklich brutal von Anfang bis Ende. Man kann sehen, wo Bands wie Bloodbath diesen elitären Sound gefunden haben. Die Produktion ist von erstklassiger Qualität und jede Note wird entsprechend geschreddert. Diese Jungs kennen ihren Death Metal.

Paganizer are one of the most active and present
bands of shredmaster Rogga Johansson. This
Swedish metal guitar hero is part of many projects,
such as Massacre, Stygian Dark, Heir Corpse
One, Warmagic, Revolting, Megascavenger,
Ribspreader, Putrevore, Blood Gut, Dead Sun,
Graveyard After Graveyard, Necrogod and most
recently To The Gallows.
 This compilation album isn’t a sum up of songs
from other albums. Rogga did some work on old
songs and recorded them again with a little twist,
especially for Doc Records. He also dug into his
vault to find some never-released songs, so it’s
much more than just a compilation.

 For this zombie horror-themed album he teamed
up with some friends from the Swedish death
metal scene: Kjetil Lynghaug (Mordenial,
Paganizer), Peter Svensson (Furnace Moon) and
Marcus Rosenkvist (Assasins Blade, Void Moon).
 ‘Fly The Fiendish Skies’ is a concept story about a
zombie apocalypse that starts after a plane cockpit
crew crashes and dives in a zombie filled swamp.
