Label head, Patrice Scott returns to the controls for his next offering of sonic impressionism. The Detroit Upright EP features two choice cuts of pure soul. Patrice's musical foundation was laid and developed in Detroit and the inspiration continues to this day.

Ark & Pit Spector continue their inspired journey with an extended EP full of groovy jams and absorbing rhythms for Hold Youth. The Frenchmen have formed a potent alliance with a series of expertly-crafted, high-quality releases dropping over the last couple of years. On this new EP they go deeper into their sound explorations with five original works and a remix from their Parisian buddy and Hold Youth member, Le Loup. First up, we go into bumping jazzy territory with 'Chauffage Central', a mesmerising cut with swirling pads, soulful vocal clips and a jaunty b-line. Straight up after that, Hold Youth rudeboy Le Loup gives 'Chauffage Central' a funky little rework, throwing live sounding percussion, Nubian vocal clips, trumpet parps and a pumping bassline into the mix which gives a totally different identity. The final track on side A, is a cheeky teaser called 'Petite Ondée'. Rolling out for just under two minutes the track has a muffled, jazz-esque feel to it with a warm rolling bassline and bright, sparkling piano keys.

On the flip we kick off with 'Air Conditionelle', a lush, retro feeling with those oh-so-familiar heavy-hitting eighties snare licks. The bassline takes you to a New York City street and the whole atmosphere is that of an old school NYC neighbourhood, while a spoken-word sample adds a human touch just before the track comes to an end. 'Sub Tropical' goes a little leftfield with an unusual combination of sounds in tandem with a pulsating low end, occasional sax licks and punchy percussion to give it plenty of energy. 'Averse Et Contre Tous' closes out the EP with a slothish ride into the sunset - Ark and Pit Spector show their experimental side presenting an odd union between blues samples, gruff electronic sounds and piano keys.

Another triumphant effort from Ark and Pit Spector, in fact, some of the finest work to date. Make sure you check it out!

Canadian based label Eternal Drive Recordings is proud to present it's first vinyl release by Jay Zoney titled "Workhorse" with remixes by Audio Injection & Axkan.

This is the label's eleventh digital release and first to be cut on vinyl featuring two original tracks from label boss Jay Zoney. Jay's productions have picked up previous support from artists including Ben Sims, D.A.V.E. the drummer, Bas Mooy, Speedy J, Sam Paganini, Joseph Capriati and Gary Beck.

On remix duty is Los Angeles native David Flores, who takes on the EP's title track under his Audio Injection alias, where many people will also know him as Truncate. Between his two aliases this heavyweight producer has racked up an impressive back catalogue of labels including CLR, Mote-Evolver, Affin, 50 Weapons, Figure and Gynoid Audio to mention only a handful.

Also featured as a remix artist is Federico Sánchez aka Axkan originally from Mexico, now calls California his home. His dark, experimental and edgy sounds have landed his tracks on the likes of Morgan Tomas' Reloading Records to Israel Toledo's Assassin Soldier and many more.

First on the EP is the title track 'Workhorse,' which true to its name is steady and relentless. A kick drum that stamps like heavy hooves on concrete gives it a powerful sound. The fast flowing percussion is brought to life with startling rips and synth stabs that grunt with determination and grit. This industrial workhorse delivers the goods every time with expert precision and perfect timing.

The second track is titled 'Mr. Ed' shows Jay Zoney's acid roots. Industrial like the first track, it's hard hitting with a rolling acid line that wriggles and twists as the track progresses. It has an intensely powerful clap with sharp hi-hats and a shuddering bass sound that when combined give it an infectious throwback groove.

Third on the release is the Audio Injection remix of Workhorse, and although dark like the original, it's less industrial overall. Opting for his own spacey percussion and bassline David (Audio Injection) creates a rolling groove packed with forward momentum. With the addition of a half bar synth hook and rising pad sound, this remix is powered by a prominent off beat hi-hat which makes it both hypnotic, euphoric and menacing.

Finishing off the release is a rework of Workhorse by Axkan whose rippling remix is both eerie and mysterious. Loaded by a grinding synth sound which echoes round the mix to create the feeling of open space, his remix starts off four to the floor, but with an unexpected shift morphs into a more broken rhythm. Building in intensity, this pulsating masterpiece has mechanical qualities and a truly individual sound.

When we started Heist a few years back, our idea was to give a stage to talent in a same way as we have had a helping hand by the labels that have supported us from the beginning. Therefore, it's our pleasure to share this release with you by newcomers 'Ouer', a Berlin based duo with only a handful of tracks out so far on their self released debut last year. Their approach to producing is very much jam based, and with a compact collection of synths, drum machines and a fair level of distortion, they succeed in creating their own sound with hints of classic electronic music from Chicago and Detroit. There's a nice mix of energy on the whole EP, 'The ascent being the most driving track of the package'. Fans of classics MCDE tracks will love 'Show off' with it's dreamy DX7 style chords and cracking acid lines. 'Move over' feels like a jam session that was way too much fun with some lovely solo work on the synths, whereas 'Mess around' goes down in similar free-ride style on the synths and again, has some lovely sampling going on. The Links EP is Blackhall & Bookless' latest outing for their increasingly renowned Jaunt> Records imprint. A highly personal release, the EP is a homely affair, celebrating the boys' upbringing in Whitley Bay with a gusto that's indicative of the area's unique charm.A A "Links" serves up a dreamy, atmospheric landscape - and one that reflects the location around which the EP is titled. Don Williams' interpretation goes down the rabbit hole further still, teasing the listener thanks to a range of slashing echo chords and clever sub bass techniques. The duo's second original is "Vision", aAdark techno jam that manifests into a stunning tribal hypnodrome.AClosing out the EP is "Cognition", another highly atmospheric track that keeps the listener locked thanks to its many dexterous capabilities. The striking artwork, meanwhile, showcases a black and white image of where the pair would hang out as teenagers. Insula records delivers a solid follow-up to their first record, releasing a 4-track peak-time tripper by Alderaan. After appearing on Planet Rhythm and Weekend Circuit the rising Argentinian artist now brings his prolific atmospheric techno sound to the Dutch imprint. The 'Continuous Limit EP' is an uncompromising journey through syncopating bass-lines, spacious textures driven by heavy kicks that will shake the floor.

The Keyboard Mashers release their 7th Edition as with the last 6 its a mixed bag taking in Spacey Disco,whacked out dubby Chanson and a tripped out to tribute to the mysterious Kendo Nagaski ,don of the 70s and early 80s uk wrestlers.

Here comes another release by Echologist aka Brendon Moeller. Brendon did several releases over the year and here comes the next Bomb!!
These tracks were recorded in autumn of 2016 in Brendon's
home studio that is conveniently located in the basement of his home in upstate New York.
The tracks were made using a combination of Hardware and Software. The protocol, well, sync all machines via midi and CV and then jam. Once a jam seems to take on a form he multitrack record all elements in Ableton and then create a nal arrangement and mix down.

COUMLTD001 is the first vinyl edition from COUM Records label. To start this limited the edition of 300 copies. Dead Sound & Videohead are in charge of Bar Brawl EP. A side is composed with two powerful offbeat tracks with industrial reminiscenses. The B side is for remixes: the Canadian duo Orphx is the first one bringing 7 minutes of rude and savage techno. To close the release, the mythy spanish industrial group from the 80's Esplendor Geometrico, remakes "Torn" to a noisy rhythm hypnotic track.

Italian native, Christian Lisco is well known for having an extremely envious collection of vintage
synthesisers and drum machines housed in his basement.
It was there that four ridiculously special acid cuts that we are prone to immediately fall in love
with on rst reception.

early age of American House music.
The next set of tracks were treated with a surrounding of acid basslines and heavy drums. Mixed

First Ep (of four) announcing the forthcoming Orlando Voorn COLLECTED double CD that will showcase what we believe is the best from the Dutch producer in his early days. This EP focuses on the housier side of Orlando Voorn and gather on one slice of wax 4 useful classic tracks for the djs.
Orlando Voorn, the artist:
He who started in the late 80's as a successful DMC DJ in The Netherlands, mixing electro and hip-hop tracks, established thenafter an historic musical connection between Amsterdam and Detroit. Orlando Voorn's unique signature of early productions, analog tweaks, funky beats and cosmic chords, quickly attracted the attention of the like of Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, for which he produced game changing classic tracks like "Game One (as Infiniti)" and "Fix (as Flash)" in the early 90's only to continue to do so until today on numerous labels (R&S, Fragile, Nightvision...) and under various aliases (Playboy, Ghetto Brothers, Format...).

TOM And His Computer is the newest alias for Copenhagen favourite Thomas Bertelsen. He started out as a teenager by looping and creating beats on his 4 track tape-recorder. Since then the very talented producer and DJ has been around the block. He produced two albums (with Lulu Rouge) and a number of songs, edits and remixes. He has also been DJing alongside Trentemøller every now and then since the early days and most recently TOM And His Computer performed live on the opening slot of Trentemøller's latest live tour and lately at Sonar Copenhagen 2015. Now we are happy and proud to present 'Small Disasters', TOM And His Computer's debut EP on Anders Trentemøller's label In My Room! Mixing elements as disparate as electronica, lo-fi guitars, driving beats, vocals and cinematic soundscape, this EP is a perfect example of why TOM And His Computer is tipped for big things in 2016. What maybe can be described as 'alternative electronic music' unfolds in different nuances. The lead track 'Organ' rides along on a crunchy rhythm track while throwing in psychedelic organs and howling electronics. Fizzing guitars weave in and project a paranoid undertone. Next up is 'Girl A Go Go' and its raw driving beat and bass hits in without any warning, before an agressive, hypnotising surf like guitar-riff comes in. Layers and layers of dirty distortion build a colapsing, overdriving climax. 'Tectonic' keeps the dark energy flowing, but packs it into a slow crawling creepy setting, drenched in reverb and noisy layers. Fraser McGuinness contributes the otherwordly vocals. Is he moaning Or conjuring Or proclaiming The song evolves from a fragile, fleeting feel into a massive, 'tectonic' pressure and all the way back. 'La Fountaine' completes the EP with another cut that perfectly fuses diverse elements from across the musical spectrum

We are glad to introduce 'FAREED' half part of the French duo 'SOCIETY OF SILENCE' for his first solo Ep on a label. With the 'Phausis Ep', Fareed offers an interesting balance between emotional melodies and organic textures, raw sonorities : the result is full of tension and very personal : another point of view on the Techno. Italian rudeboy Ivan Iacobucci brings his brand of lowdown funk-influenced tech house to Apollonia with this sterling three-tracker. Over two decades of hard work and dedication to his craft has culminated in Ivan's untainted reputation and widespread respect within the underground from true heads like Zip and, of course, the Apollonia boys. His love of jazz in evident throughout this EP which is full of subtlety and depth, pulsating b-lines and smooth chords are interlaced with razor-sharp percussion and delicate keys. The first track 'Old In On' has a laid back, though driving, groove, pushing forward with a hefty bassline that is perfectly counterbalanced by the light twinkling keys and barely-there pads. 'Scris Frumos' encapsulates more of an ominous, tribal feeling with intricate effects trickling through every pore of its deep, dark exterior. Its atmospherics keep you intrigued, voices echo in the background and a few moments of softened chimes really intensify the already mysterious vibe. 'Mini Ass' channels more of that electro-funk that forms the foundation of Ivan's love for music, haywire radio pulses prance around stuttered beats, giving it a slightly cosmic feel, while pipes add a more organic nuance to the track. Absolutely masterful work from Ivan, and another inspired addition to the Apollonia catalogue.

The fifth installment of the munich based label Musica Autonomica, the Adversario EP, is a compilation showcasing various tracks by young and talented producers from Italy, France and Germany.

Our little Dirt Crew sub label Spiel started out in late 2013 with three excellent releases, the first two by "Clancy" featuring remixes by "Urulu" and "Prins Thomas" followed by a stellar EP from "Mercury". After a hiatus SPIEL
is back for 2016. Renewed and inspired we have a bunch of both fresh faced and established artists on board packing quality releases for the year. With sounds spanning from Indie Dance and Electronica to Disco and spaced out Balearic jams, we're proud to present you the first of our outings for 2016.

First up is close friend and rock solid producer "Good Guy Mikesh". Out of Leipzig, Germany, he's the guy with the Perfect pitch, forward thinking ideas, an impressive discography of 12"s to his name, and a huge range of influences from funk and soul, to 80's new wave electro and back again. He's come to the table with four tracks we've been busting to share with you.

'Whim' is the steady builder. Spacious and very much alive with sliding leads and layers of analogue synths that sparkle, it's melancholic bliss, it's a deep breath inducing, dance floor lifting, thought provoking piece of beauty. 'Why Not' is something deeper, the bass slips and slides dancing with the top line, while a palette of plucked strings, tuned percussion and Mikesh's signature synth soundscapes reach into the distance as the track continues to roll.

On the B side, 'Cookie' is joyful, its playful keys and poolside energies toast to warm weather and good times. Bouncing arpeggios lead the charge in the break, rising before giving way to euphoric synthetic strings which lead us back into the elated refrain. 'Corone' hints towards Mikesh's disco history, boasting a burly bass and a funk all of its own, this indie dance shaker's got a solid groove and vibe to spare.

A listening pleasure and a dance floor treat, Mikesh's far reaching and assured musical vision is inescapable on this record. The perfect welcome back for SPIEL.

Infuse drop their first 12" of 2016 which sees Howl Ensemble take the reigns for a fine 3 tracker. Nexus is a bottom heavy warehouse groove with Plexus providing able support with its deeper aquatic style whilst Sexus rounds things off with an altogether trippier experience.

UK producer Mavlin drops four poignant tracks on vinyl only imprint Krenta Records this February. Specialising in Chicago and Detroit inspired productions, Krenta Records is a fresh imprint with a lot of promise. The platform is hardware-focused, with its material composed of retro synths, drum machines, samples and outboards for a machine driven sound oozing with soul. 'Timeless Energy' uses clunky percussion and a moving melody to engineer a down tempo and emotional cut. 'Cycle' then rolls forward with undulating drums and soft synths, before 'Rise of Ai' demonstrates a moody chord sequence and fuzzy bassline. Tying it all together, 'The Valley Of Shadows' boasts a discernible hook, tranquil pads and serene keys in a mesmerising conclusion.

Vinyl Only LTD 200 copies Detroit state of mind on the A side with a long broken intro to give kick reward back. A track that never let you down, builded for the Deejays. The flip carry a LOUD dancefloor 4/4 non stop hangar techno, with trippy synths... Not dark, not happy... Just an authentic Techno dancefloor call !

Embracing Disco, Techno and House music in all its declinations, What Ever Not introduces now British artist Reformed Society, project started by house producer Harsh Puri as a consequence of djing and collecting records since 1998, debuting with a four track old school house EP, Optimistic Chaos coherently fitting with the Italian imprint philosophy. 'Hope' has that solar, yet dusty groove folding distorted rhythmics and joyful pads around an insistent lead dubby pattern and shimmering synths. 'Optimistic Chaos' is again smooth but lightly gloomy, until a pause intoxicates one's body and mind filling them with inebriating ambients. 'Incognito' delivers a deep driving atmosphere here, featuring dogged, crisp drums together with minimalist, yet momentary cosmic motives. For the closing cut 'Detracid', the artist cooks up a brew of acid lines with the usual charming synths and vivid hats, building a light sense of tension fired up by the warm, heady sound scapes. Each track is similar to the last, stiffening the musical timbre of the label, confirming the producer's strong artistic identity as a consequence.

Second release on Ostcode Exile Records by Fran Hartnett from Dublin. 4 straight techno tracks to drive your mind to another place. Early support from Surgeon, Ben Sims, Truss and Sunil Sharpe !

By all accounts, Whiskey Disco has matured. Each release unique, but compiled meticulously to meet some of the highest standards in the edit community.
WD45 continues the trajectory with 4 tracks combining equal parts soul, boogie and disco. Rastanils cuts up cheesy obscurity to reveal heavy disco vibes—this edit was smashed by MCDE at numerous festivals in 2015. Next up, the 'intriguing' Corsican Brothers reappear after a 5 year absence from Whiskey Disco with a sliced version of I Like It, beefed up bass and space on the platters with a touch of dub. Side B exemplifies the weirdness only a b-side can... Albion's Disco Chopper is a stretched and phased party jam that DOES NOT Stop.
Move to the inside for the lengthy and epic Big Time, a 9 minute exploration into rocking disco roots, courtesy of the eponymously named Blaxploitation movie from 1977.

Contort Yourself has once again gathered the best and boldest from past and present for its fourth EP. To begin with we have the grimacing visage of Volition Immanent, an intense live act made up of Parrish Smith and Mark Van de Maat (Knekelhuis). Behind rawkish distortion, splintered beats and acrid bars screams a boiled anger; a track spitting on the divides of punk and electronics. Nastiness is taken up a notch as noise ne'er-do-wells Zombies Under Stress take over. Static is bent and doubled across thick chords and collapsed clap in the 1986 "Maan Zal Zijn" before the raw and raging battery of "In Onze Tijd." L.I.E.S. regular Svengalisghost grapples with "Maan Zal Zijn, channelling the original's rage into a mechanical monster. The 12" is bookended with bite as Mark Forshaw (Tabernacle/Berceuse Heroique) closes with the tortured and torrential thump of "Submission." A callous, caustic and fervently cruel EP.

Taped Artifact label boss Kevin Arnemann is back on his own label with a new three track EP. It marks only the Dutchman's third release-the second on his own label after an EP from Natan H-but is a truly deep and atmospheric offering that takes its cues from many different sounds and scenes.
