Pulsinger & Irl is the collaboration between Austrian producer and techno pioneer Patrick Pulsinger and Bavarian producer and sound engineer Sam Irl.

After ten years of dub-driven live explorations, Pulsinger & Irl are now focusing on a raw, uptempo, and sample-driven take on techno.
Their new album and live set is stripped to the essentials — two classic samplers, the SP-1200 and MPC2000XL, and a 16-track mixer. By pushing these machines beyond their intended boundaries, they craft a gritty and textural sound.
This is first of two 4-track EPs that will make up the entire album („AALLIIAASS“).


The duo met in 2012 at Pulsinger's Feedback Studio in Vienna, where Sam began as his assistant engineer before becoming a studio partner.
Coming from different musical backgrounds, they found common ground in experimental techno, dub, sampling culture, and analogue gear.

Since their debut album Mud (2016), they've released the EPs Function Creep/Woodpecker (2017), Exu (2018) and Retrieval (2019), along with several remixes — most recently a rework of iO's 1994 classic Claire (2024). Their music has received support from Move D, Gilles Peterson, Mr. Scruff, Lefto, among others.

They've performed at Berghain/Panorama Bar (2016–2018), Sonar Barcelona, ://about blank, Golden Pudel, Blitz, Sziget, Elevate Graz, Lighthouse Croatia, Rote Sonne, Ars Electronica Linz, Zukunft, and more.

Over the past three decades, Patrick Pulsinger has released music on his own label Cheap Records as well as R&S, M Plant, Disko B, Compost, and has produced for DJ Hell, Hercules & Love Affair, Elektro Guzzi, Fennesz and others.
Sam Irl has released music since 2007 on labels such as Freerange, Jazz & Milk, Brownswood, Pulver and Frank Music.

Modeight returns with four new cuts from label head Silat Beksi, moving across broken grooves, stripped minimal house and hazy after-hours moods. A1 "Belpaese 3000" opens on a loose summer feel, built around off-centre drums, elastic funk phrasing and a surreal vocal line that feels half-sung, half-invented. Sampled folk details and a crunchy acid twist in the breakdown give the track its own oddball tension. A2 "Alpha Style" keeps things tighter and more direct, locking into a pumping minimal house flow with clipped modular stabs, warm female vocal phrases and light atmospheric drift. It is playful, controlled and built with the floor in mind. On the flip, "For The Heads" goes deeper into late-night territory - reduced, driving and sharply focused, with a rolling pulse and enough pressure to carry a room without overstatement. "Soft Collapse" closes the record on a softer axis, layering blurred vocal tones, textured percussion and a gentle after-hours motion that stretches naturally from the first warm-up hours into the early morning.

Cooper Saver joins the Dream Space family for his first solo EP in 6 years, which was well worth the wait.

Born in LA and now residing in Squamish BC, Cooper ran the infamous Far Away parties in his home city through the mid-to-late 2010’s. Over the past decade, he has released exceptional music and remixes on labels such as Hivern Discs, Permanent Vacation, Internasjonal, DFA and more.

Working often as a collaborator, his recent projects alongside Chris Macintyre as Inner Flight and Night Cycle, and as part of hardcore punk band Self Arrest, all hold up to the same high quality output.

After being in contact with each other for years, it feels like a full circle moment to be working with Cooper and sharing more of his music with the world.

Across all four tracks he dives deeper into the new progression of his sound. From the peak time energy of Depths Of Reality and cosmic radiance of Be Alive, to the understated and shimmering B side of Glider / Running In Circles, this one’s an essential.

The roots of Nightlong can be traced back to Havana in early 2008, where a series of recordings captured some of the most compelling contemporary Cuban singers and musicians. These sessions yielded a striking collection of voices, woodwinds, and brass, all imbued with a distinctive warmth and vitality—material that called for a careful and inspired reinterpretation.

That reinterpretation came from Maayan Nidam. With remarkable intuition and precision, she distilled the essence of these performances and reshaped them into a work that feels both organic and forward-looking. Moving beyond her signature dance floor framework, Nidam explores a wider range of rhythms, textures, and tonal depth, crafting an album that unfolds with subtle complexity and emotional resonance.

The result is a fluid and immersive record—one that transforms its source into something entirely new, while preserving its expressive core.

"Acid Morning" by Toni Rios, remixed by Andreas Henneberg, is a captivating track that skillfully blends elements of techno and house, creating a nuanced auditory experience. Andreas Henneberg is known for his ability to infuse tracks with a distinct energy, and his remix of "Acid Morning" is no exception. Henneberg transforms "Acid Morning" with his signature style. The "Toni Rios and Andre Walter Remix" for Nicoleta is a track that brilliantly blends elements of classic electronic beats with modern production techniques. At the time of original release it was written that the album "will transport the listener to other plains of reality.” (Acid Test). Meanwhile, Alternative Press called it “alluring and addictive.” and CMJ called it "expansive, daydream enhancing music.”

The pair have also recently released their collaborative album with Optigan Conservatory, which can be revisited here. A beautiful and hermetic energy larger than the sum of its parts was captured in the collaborative process of making this album. There are echoes of the earliest releases from Windy & Carl as well as refractions of the same opacity that surfaced in the early kranky catalog.

Len Lewis arrives on Amsterdam’s Dzungla, digging into the tech house veteran’s vault for a mix of archival material and previously unreleased cuts. Four tracks spanning from 2003 to 2021, showcasing his trademark dark, driving sound, with three tracks being released for the first time.

The A-side reissues the original “Paradise People”, the highly sought-after 2002 cut and enduring spaced out favourite. On the A2 comes the previously unreleased “Paradise People (2003 Dub)”, a more dubbed-out version produced in 2003 but never released before.

The B-side opens with “Bare Back”, an eerie high-energy groover, while the B2, titled “A1”, takes things into wonkier, more stripped-back territory. Two contrasting cuts that work across the dance floor, from peak-time sets to the opening hours.

The annual Bonkers Music compilation is back with another dose of high-energy bangers. For its seventh anniversary, the series takes a fresh step forward, exploring a slightly evolved musical direction while keeping the distinctive sound that defines it. “Year VII” lands on 12” vinyl.

“Brote Psicodélico” emerges from a hypnotic intersection of acid rhythms, psychedelic textures and raw downtempo energy. The track slowly unfolds through repetition and movement, creating a constantly evolving state between tension and release. Dark, trippy and physical, it is built around a groove that pulls you deeper with every layer. Distorted elements and acidic patterns weave in and out of the rhythm, giving the track an organic yet alien character. A journey designed for listening, less about following a linear narrative and more about entering a state of mind, where the boundaries between rhythm, body and psychedelia begin to blur.

DJ Koze doesn't aim for technical perfection for its own sake, but rather to serve the purpose of giving birth to great music. On his debut 'Rue Burnout EP' from his own Pampa label, he plays with finesse and sophistication, and implicitly understands the importance of subtlety, leading from dreamy and restrained parts to a noisy frenzy at the end. 'Blume der Nacht' starts with a looped piano solo from Arabian dodecaphony, interwoven with bangs of violine bows, piercing high-pitched strings, almost shrieking glissandi, deep angel chants and obsessive sharp rhythms. The 37 year old constantly horny wunderkind producer has made a habit of creatively foiling expectations, and works also under the pseudonyms Adolf Noise, Swahimi and recently Madima Lokkah to redefine the boundaries of electronic music. This daring concept works perfectly in the title track 'Rue Burnout' - it is very rare that you find house music this excitingly light-fooded and precisely transparent. The musician cuts the pigtail off the term 'Kackmusik' for good, and demonstrates how sounds are capable of creating the most delicate musical interplay.

Vintage Pleasure Boutique returns to the classic Hotsound Records catalogue with Primero’s “Oh Que Calor”, another unmistakable production from Michiel van der Kuy.

This vinyl edition brings together three newly remastered original versions: Extended, Radio and Instrumental, preserving the sound and atmosphere of the original release, alongside fresh remixes from A.P. Mono, Spacehawk and Disco Computer.

All three remixers share a fascination with Van der Kuy’s signature sound. Their interpretations may take different routes, but the original DNA remains intact: pulsing synths, Linn Drum, cosmic melodies and that unmistakable late-’80s vocal spacesynth energy.

And “Oh Que Calor” still has the power to transport you somewhere else entirely: to a seaside resort on some Spanish coast, sometime in the late 1980s – hot nights, neon lights, open-air dancefloors and a whole summer soundtrack built from Italo Disco, spacesynth and electro. Somewhere between the beach and the club, Primero feels completely at home.

For fans of Laserdance, Koto, Cyber People, Proxyon and Sisley Ferre, this is both a return to the original and a new chapter.

Regular contributor Vick Lavender returns to Cataleya Music for a Soulful vocal mission with Angel-A. They have previously worked together on songs like Rain for Lavender's Sophisticado Recordings and G.I.R.L. for Phuture Sole Recordings. Here we have Soul Travel (Day & Nite, Nite & Day). This song is in the same vein and features positive vocals from Angel-A over a stylish key driven groove. The vocal is backed by an Instrumental Mix where the key driven melody and complex percussion rhythms take center stage, assisted by star gazing synths. This is another rich composition from Vick Lavender with uplifting lyrics from Angel-A.

Who would expect that a new Krautrock release on Macadam Mambo would come from a Japanese band called Heavenphetamine?! The duo/couple have been touring all over Europe in the past two years, and started to build a serious fan base, as every performance they deliver is leaving an imperishable memory. This is on a date in Belgrade at Karmakoma that they met with Sacha. They had this album recorded and auto-release on tape but not on vinyl, and it came completely naturally to decide to release it as a LP on Macadam Mambo. The tracks on the album are new versions a bit different from the tape, let’s say a bit more mature and minimal than from the first ones recorded and give the feeling of listening to a masterpiece in the genre. It can be dark and profound but also enough light to bring back this little sun that has trouble to shine in the winter. This album has been highly influenced by their experience with the war in Ukraine, and the friendship they made there, where it has been recorded, and it express this mix of emotions due to the feeling of exasperation and the hope to see someday this conflict come to an end and the relief of the peace…

Disco Collected celebrates the dance music which originally developed from R&B, soul, and funk from the late 60s and 70s and turned into a mighty subculture in discotheques, with Studio 54, Manhattan, New York as one of the most famous and extravagant discos all over the world. Disco used a steady four to the floor beat, string sections, horns which created a perfect setting for DJs who mixed their special 12 inches to an eager dance crowd.

For its third vinyl release, Bordeaux-based Canelura Records welcomes Ukrainian artist Dibe with an EP crafted for the dancefloor, showcasing his distinctive sound and groove-driven approach. Completing the package is a remix from his Parisian friends, the duo Miroloja, delivering their own deep and hypnotic interpretation.

Wewantsounds is delighted to present the first official reissue of the highly sought-after 1979 classic, Summer-Time Love Song by The Milky Way. Originally released on the Seven Seas label in Japan and produced by the legendary Makoto Matsushita-the visionary behind the cult album First Light -the album is a premier example of the sophisticated sound that defined the era. Featuring the cream of Japanese musicians, including Yasuaki Shimizu, the record offers a superb mix of AOR, jazz fusion, funk, and bossa nova. The 3rd Loop Progression release leans heavily into 90s jungle vibes, with Frozen in Time by Champa B taking us on a sci fi odyssey with epic pads and intricate amen patterns, all tied together with a spoken word sample which sets the tone for the release.

Replay continues on the retro theme, with Peeb and Pixl slowing things down slightly on Replay. Lo-fi breaks, pads and a bouncing 808 b-line.

On the B Side Galvatron switches things up slightly with Push, a footwork jungle stomper with metallic breaks and a huge 808 bass, guaranteed to get the dancefloor moving.

Finally the release is rounded off with a remix from the mighty Tim Reaper, putting his own twist on Pixls track Galaxy Dub (originally released on LOOP001)

This is a bit of a rare release on the ADR label - it even had its own special catalogue number - XYZ instead of the usual ADR (I need to ask the guys why that was actually!) This EP only came out as a 4 track white label in 1993 and was nicknamed the Untitled EP back then, finally having a proper title in 2026. Two of the tracks were written by Les aka The Pharmacist and the other two were collabs with Dave Charlesworth - so you know the quality will be high... but you I expect most of you know this already from owning or listening to the original pressing. A cracking EP of good vibed hardcore.

It's dubby, its very hypnotic, its in the borderlands of genres, and its infected by the acid, all of it except the first track which is a dreamy sparsely melodic almost subtly trancey jam. The second track smacks you in the ass with their typical wonky funky acid sound and the third goes downtempo, and the following two tracks complete the dreamy acid journey you're in for. Sometimes things go quickly. After meeting Canadian artist Pascale Project early this year (twice in one month) on the same dancefloor of a crusty underground club in Neukolln, we sent this Berlin-based DJ and producer a short appreciation email to show curiosity and interest in her unreleased music. Our hope was to listen to it and maybe just maybe start a record-release project. Pascale sent back quickly, and she shared some fantastic club music with us. We had separate listens to the full playlist, and, funnily/coincidentally, we chose the same 4 tracks as highlights from the big playlist. One week later, Pascale emailed us back, mentioning the tracks she would feel/see/love to be released on the label, and they were the exact same ones we had naturally and unanimously chosen. Stars aligned for sure. Having long been active in the Montreal music scene, Pascale absorbed the essence of all her different experiences and years of training and creating, and then let it all start Sparkling into the 22nd Basic Moves release entitled "Watch EP". The record is based on the concept of losing and breaking things up, and eventually finding it all back. Reflecting hope in between the fog of life. It is clever modern underground club music rooted in the textures and energies of the golden days of progressive house, breakbeats and (real!) tech-house. These 4 tracks reflect an artist who expresses herself honestly, fully understands how to creatively arrange and produce club music, and never loses sight of the dancefloor, as she is often found on that dancefloor herself.
