The selection on ‘Tokyo Glow’ starts with 'Kimugare' a relaxed mid-tempo track by Kumi Nakamura, actually a famous actress who only recorded one album in 1980 for Columbia.

The set continues and flows effortlessly with the sunshine grooves of Miyuki Maki, Hatsumi Shibata and cult keyboard player Hiroshi Sato before the pace starts going faster and funkier with New Generation Company, Kengo Kurozumi - with his superb boogie, 'Juggler'
- and one of the queens of the genre, Hitomi 'Penny' Tohyama with 'Tuxedo Connection'.

Another fine example on the set is the mid-tempo groove of "I Wander All Alone Part III" by New Generation Company, an aggregate group of some of the best Japanese session musicians led by arranger Katz Hoshi and including Hiroyuki Namba (key), Kazuo Shiina (gtr) and Yutaka Uehara (ds) who all played with Tatsuro Yamashita among many others.

There are many other excellent examples in 'Tokyo Glow', showcasing the diversity and specificity of Japanese City Pop during the late 70s and 80s.

Nippon Columbia opened their much-guarded vaults to curator DJ Natoya. Tracks were remastered in Tokyo and the result, ‘Tokyo Glow’, is a unique insight into a most creative period in Japanese music.

Forwards! moves roughly chronologically through moments in Brummie history; from the Lunar Society/Priestley Riots, through post war brutalist redevelopment, to the current era of apathy, strikes, mystery fires, and grifters stoking dangerously misguided "patriotism" The record grew from the band's view of the city as both a microcosm of the wider country, and testing ground for 200 years of unaccountable Westminster experimentation. The title itself is taken from the Birmingham's oft- derided civic motto. Throughout the record, fellow Birmingham punx Luxury Nan Smell take the role of The City Elders, providing backing vocals that interrupt, question or comment on the songs like a running director's commentary. Meanwhile, Bryn Bowen, whose CV stretches across numerous Birmingham bands of the 2000s, appears as The Lords of Change, a recurring voice embodying the landlords, lawmakers and civic powerbrokers who shape the city from above.

Marcus Gad, one of France's top reggae artists, hailing from the Pacific island of New Caledonia, returns with a powerful new album, FOR ALL Produced with his longtime collaborator Tamal, along with instrumental backing from his band Tribe, the record brings 12 new songs that continue Gad's thoughtful and catchy approach to modern reggae. Lush production, killer musicanship, along with modern vibes and riddims all make the album one of his best yet. Lyrically, Gad tackles many of the topics that have concerned him for years - liberty, equality, fighting against injustice and the problems of the world today.

Over 13 tracks that explore the horrors of the outside world and the internal minefield of the brain, Mould's debut also hits with the thrills of a brilliant live band who've distilled that energy to tape. The title comes from a line taken from the time signature-warping 'Emotive Language' that distills what it means to be a band in 2026 down to one concise sentiment. "This has always been the dream, playing with your mates and making good songs and getting to tour and make records," says Kane. "But the realities of trying to start a band now, when you're 30 and also have other goals at the same time are hard. We'd be doing it regardless, but you have to learn a lot. " This duality runs throughout the record, where tracks like lead single 'Float' speak of "strolling through hellscapes" of social media yet surround their frustrations with the sort of barbed, visceral musicality that sounds like if Interpol had grown up in gloomy, rain- soaked Britain. "You're endlessly doom scrolling, past a funny video of a sausage, and then there's Farage and then there's an ad for something," Joe says of the track. "That mindnumbing flashy distraction turns you into idiots."

An evolution of her radio show, event series and Bandcamp community under the same name, this compilation plots a globe-spanning day-into-night voyage across 16 tracks, from artists, countries and scenes that have shaped Jamz' musical worldview. Each track, many of which are exclusive to this comp, tells a story of heritage and roots, whilst pushing boundaries and pioneering new sounds in their respective regions. From the Reunion Island to Latin America, East Africa to the Caribbean and Pacific, it's a 24-hour cycle moving from downtempo to dancefloor. The concept of Dance Around The World began in the summer of 2025 but has ultimately been a part of Jamz' journey in music since the beginning. At the centre of it is her 15-year career as radio presenter - her tastes evolving from the early days on Reprezent Radio, to a 1Xtra residency and now a Saturday daytime show on BBC 6Music. There has always been a desire to highlight music from underrepresented scenes to new audiences.

"Fragments of Light" documents seven years of creative dialogue between Purl (Ludvig Cimbrelius) and Ecovillage (Emil Holmström & Peter Wikström). Their journey began with a spontaneous meeting in Los Angeles during October 2019, evolving into a transcontinental process where Ludvig refined ideas during Sri Lankan train journeys while Emil and Peter furthered their ambient dreaming in northern Sweden. Sonically, the album inhabits a space between pop ambient and new age—combining atmospheric textural depth with accessible melodies, while also carrying forward the contemplative nature central to the artists' work and personal lives. Ecovillage, who has collaborated with many revered artists (such as Laraaji, Carlos Niño, and Fennesz), here pour their own deep sensibilities into the ever widening river of Purl—this initial, ambient-rooted alias of Ludvig Cimbrelius. Featuring original, hand-painted artwork by Steven Jackson and delicate mastering work by Ludvig for a special limited physical edition released via his own LILA लीला imprint, “Fragments of Light” carries the hallmarks of an ambient classic-to-be. The album fits naturally alongside works by artists like Brian Eno, Harold Budd, and Hiroshi Yoshimura, as well as contemporary artists who bridge the ethereal with melodic sensibility.

The Mannheim homie ManooZ has been releasing some fab tunes for over a decade on labels like Chiwax, Selections, Local Talk or just recently Chicago’s own Star Creature, but there’s no stopping. A true house lover, ManooZ dedicates his „Rhythm of motion EP“ to Chicago House! The a-side represents the jacking side of Chicago with raw and hypnotic grooves and stripped-back basslines. Just listen to „rhythm of motion“ and „mode six“! The b-side goes deeper with a more soulful approach and strings and melodies all over! A perfectly balanced release by the one and only ManooZ!

That same gesture moves with the record itself: side A happens at night, side B in the morning, and what the titles hint at shifts with that transition. Built with real instruments - bass, guitar, percussion, synths - reaching for a swing that breaks away from a machine's quantized grid, somewhere between house and techno.

Ferdi bekräftigt seinen Status als innovativer Künstler, der den Jazz und sein Image revolutioniert.
In einer Zeit, in der alles dazu bestimmt scheint, konsumiert und anschließend vergessen zu werden, setzt Ferdi auf die Beständigkeit kreativen Schaffens. Sein Album entstand aus der Überzeugung heraus, dass Kunst ein kostbarer Raum bleibt: ein Ort der Erkundung, der Vermittlung und der Emotion, an dem jedes Detail das Ergebnis eines geduldigen kreativen Prozesses ist.
Mehr als nur eine Abfolge einzelner Tracks versteht sich dieses Projekt als ein in sich geschlossenes Gesamtwerk, in dem die Musik mit anderen Ausdrucksformen in einen Dialog tritt und so eine gemeinsame künstlerische und emotionale Suche weiterführt.
Schon lange fasziniert von der Figur des Malers, wollte Ferdi verstehen, was einem Werk seine Kraft und die Fähigkeit verleiht, einen bleibenden Eindruck zu hinterlassen. Back in November 2015, after years of collaborations with such as Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Obie Trice, Sean Price, Kool G Rap, Eternia and countless others, Toronto-based producer MoSS released his debut producer album entitled "Marching To The Sound Of My Own Drum". Since the beginning of his career, the Canadian beatsmith, record digger and music connoisseur has been making a name for himself with his signature sound and on this record he gives an amazing display of what he's capable of doing being backed up by an all stars team that features AZ, Havoc, Slum Village, Onyx, Inspectah Deck, Ill Bill, Skyzoo, Guilty Simpson and 20+ other legendary MC's. A few years after its original release, we've decided to team up with MoSS to bring you this masterpiece on wax and, for the occasion, he's also added an unreleased bonus track called "We Here" that features Smif-N-Wessun that, together with "Emotional Redux", we've put on a 7" together with its instrumental. Limited edition of 500 hand-numbered copies, with the first 200 pressed on orange/black A-side B-side vinyl, and 300 on black vinyl.

With Picture About You, Recut opens a new chapter, blending the heritage of house music, acid textures and underground electronic culture into a contemporary vision for today’s dancefloors. Rooted in the essence of club culture, the EP explores hypnotic grooves, evolving patterns and the timeless dialogue between the DJ, the sound system and the crowd, where emotion, movement and energy become a universal language. The title track, “Picture About You”, reflects Recut’s artistic identity through the lens of his personal history and family roots. An important part of this story comes from his uncle, known as Mr. Steve, who in 1975 founded one of the pioneering independent radio stations in Southern Italy during the early years of independent broadcasting. His connection with radio, disco culture and the first generation of Italian clubs embodied a spirit of discovery, sharing and musical exploration that continues to shape Recut’s approach to music.

Musically, “Picture About You” unfolds through a hypnotic and emotional groove, blending old-school character with a contemporary perspective. Tronic has a 20-30 year long history with releasing melodic house and techno. While we opted for the more raw sound in the past few years, Christian wanted to go back to his roots and produce more emotive, groovy, and melodic house and techno again. Lamour Toujours is a progressive groover that has a disco-influenced bassline and adds an emotive chord progression in the break. We asked Argentinean legend Hernan Cattaneo to make a remix. As a long time supporter of Tronic we felt that he would be a great candidate for this remix. Hernan Cattaneo and Kevin Di Serna teamed up and delivered a stunning remix focusing on the melodic chord progression of the original! Italian maestro Gai Barone mutates 'L'Amour Toujours' into a stunning, mind-bending interpretation that proves his insane ability to rewrite the rulebook. Meanwhile, Colombian powerhouse Kamilo Sanclemente stays closer to the original, injecting a massive, chord-driven progression built to elevate any room. Three classy, high-caliber remixes. 90's techno legend Bryan Zentz, also known as Barada, is back on Sonic Groove with a killer mini LP release.
