Vibraphonist Milt Jackson and tenor saxophonist John Coltrane make for a surprisingly complementary team on this 1959 studio session, their only joint recording. AllMusic notes that with fine backup by pianist Hank Jones, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Connie Kay, Bags and Trane stretch out on two of Jackson's originals (including "The Late Late Blues") and three standards: a romping "Three Little Words," "The Night We Called It a Day," and the rapid "Be-Bop." The highlight of the set is the eponymous opening track, which just oozes late-night cool.
This deluxe 180-gram 45 RPM 2LP reissue from Analogue Productions (Atlantic 75 Series) is a gem and will be a must-have for all jazz music fans.
Straight outta Rockaway Beach, Queens, New York City, USA, THE WORLD, Prison is a state of mind, an experience, a loose collective, a band, a jam band and a bunch of psychedelic dudes who aren"t your average bunch of jambanders. All that, all at once, ALL THE TIME. You get what you"re dealing with here? No...you don"t. The only way to REALLY get it is to go to Prison -- and if you"re not from greater NYC and haven"t showed at any of the shows, here"s your best bet: their breakout album, Upstate. And whatta breakout! So high, you can"t get under it; so wide, you can"t get over it! How wide? Every song has two titles, that"s how wide. And almost everybody sings, like, all the time. That wide. Sure, you can break down the numbers -- five guys, five songs and four sides of vinyl in one gatefold sleeve -- but that won"t get you Upstate, either. Prison is the sound of everybody in the room figuring out where to go, individually and collectively. As they go through it, the meaning changes, the destination changes, the words mean something different. It"s meaning and no meaning, rising and falling, sinking and flying on the back of something massive cacophonized by three guitars, four vocals, a bass and drums. A lot of information bouncing around and enough time to really get you out of yourself! Take a look at the titles: each one a dichotomous inquest that the assembled Prison-ers march upon with fervor, glee, vengeance -- a whole spectrum of feels and perspectives woven into the jam for you to see. The Prison population changes with the seasons, and during the season this album was recorded, Sarim Al-Rawi, Mike Fellows, Sam Jayne, Matt Lilly and Paul Major were in Prison. Sarim you might know from Liquor Store, Mike"s made a bunch of scenes and records as Mighty Flashlight, Sam, who passed away in 2020 (R.I.P., brother) was in Love as Laughter -- and Paul Major you know from Endless Boogie, who Matt had roadied for -- and despite being "just a skateboarder who loves music" with no previous experience on the drums, he and Sarim inaugurated the Prison experience, like, seven years ago. Since then, it just fell together and it keeps doing so. A free thing called Prison.
It took a while but now it's (almost) finally here, The West Pole on double vinyl! This record,
originally released in 2009, has been out of print on vinyl for over 13 years. It is the first
album with new singer Silje Wergeland and contains guest vocals from Marcela Bovio and
Anne van den Hoogen.
The Gathering's ninth studio album is perhaps the most varied album from the band's
catalogue, going from up-tempo rock orientated songs like ‘All You Are’ and ‘No One Spoke’
to dreamy, soundscape-like tracks such as ‘No Bird Call'. Above all it is a typical The
Gathering album with all the musical ingredients you can expect from this band.
The West Pole has been specially remastered for vinyl from the original mix and contains 4
bonus tracks
More than a decade into his career, Harlem emcee Smoke DZA has become one of hip-hop’s most recognizable voices. Vividly narrating his own remarkable lifestyle with slick wordplay, DZA has amassed an unprecedented catalog for an independent artist, with more than 40 projects to his name featuring the likes of Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Wiz Khalifa, Action Bronson, Ty Dolla $ign, ScHoolboy Q, Cam’ron, Wale, and more. A key member of burgeoning Buffalo collective Griselda Records, Benny The Butcher is a formidable lyricist known for powerful flows and complex punchlines steeped in his real criminal past. In recent years, Benny has continued his ascent, signing with iconic label Def Jam and releasing a series of acclaimed studio albums featuring collaborations with Lil Wayne, J. Cole, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Big Sean, and more. In 2019, Smoke DZA and Benny The Butcher linked for the joint project Statue Of Limitations, entirely produced by the legendary Pete Rock. The union of three supremely talented artists drew immediate attention online, leading to coverage from outlets like Complex, Okayplayer, The Fader, HipHopDX, RapRadar, Stereogum, Hypebeast, and more. Finding genuine chemistry over Pete’s raw instrumentation, DZA and Benny deliver a cohesive exploration of Empire State street life on this memorable collection, which features appearances by Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, and Styles P. To celebrate the 5th anniversary of its release, Statue Of Limitations is now available on vinyl for the first time in years, complete with the previously unavailable Pete Rock instrumentals.

Turich Benjy, from Cincinnati Ohio, is a shapeshifter. He is a frequent collaborator of the great Pink Siifu, and in 2023 the pair released a magnificent album called ”IT’S TOO QUIET..’!!”. Throughout the album, Benjy showcases his versatility and his ability to have as much fun as possible on a track. His voice reminds me so much (and I say this with all seriousness) of Young Thug.
Benjy feels like what you’d get if Young Thug took a deep dive into exploring alternative trap and neo-soul production. He manages to always find the most creative possible way to navigate a beat, best showcased on his songs like “Sparkz (In The Air)” and “WYWD..’!?” with Pink Siifu.
Produced by Creed Taylor and originally issued on the CTI label in 1975, Jim Hall's Concierto followed the path of Miles Davis' celebrated Sketches of Spain in presenting, among other tunes, an arrangement of Joaquín Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez."
The LP was an all-star venture, with Hall accompanied by such luminaries as Chet Baker, Paul Desmond, Roland Hanna, Ron Carter and Steve Gadd. Desmond had a long history of recording with the guitarist, but this was Hall and Baker's first out of just two recorded encounters.
Concierto received a **** ½ rating on AllMusic, with reviewer Anthony Tognazzini stating that it "ranks among the best albums of Hall's superb catalog and the personnel is a jazz lover's dream come true."
The debut album from Judas Priest - Celebrate 50 years of metal history with the album that started it all! Rocka Rolla, Judas Priest's groundbreaking debut, has been remixed and remastered to deliver the heavy metal roar it always deserved. Originally recorded in 1974 during late-night sessions on a shoestring budget, the album captured the raw energy of a young Judas Priest—Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, Ian Hill, KK Downing, and John Hinch—just as their journey began. While the original release lacked the full punch of their live performances, this new version—expertly remixed by legendary producer Tom Allom (British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance)—brings the power of these early recordings to life with modern technology. Hear the legendary tracks like never before, including "One For The Road," "Rocka Rolla," and "Run of the Mill," now with the sonic clarity and depth that metalheads have been waiting for. This album lit the eternal metal flame, remastered for a new generation, and a must-have for any Judas Priest fan. Celebrate 50 years of metal history with the album that started it all! Rocka Rolla, Judas Priest's debut, has been remixed and remastered to deliver the sound and power in the way the band had always intended it to be. “This album lit the eternal metal flame - as real and fresh as ever five decades on” — Rob Halford
"Bad Bad Hats are an indie rock trio from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Known for bringing a joyful, exuberant presence to their live shows, touring with The Beths, Margaret Glaspy, The Front Bottoms, Hippo Campus, and Third Eye Blind, the group took specific care to bring their fun-loving spirit to their third LP, Walkman.
Kerry (guitar/vocals), Chris (bass), and Con (drums) let their collective hair down on Walkman, bringing raucous and explosive riffs alongside witty lyrics. Though you might not notice from their indie rock exterior, Bad Bad Hats draws a heavy influence from classic pop songwriting that shines through in their hooky choruses and strong melodic sensibilities.
For this release the band set out to push their capabilities as a trio. Subtle changes in process helped the band achieve this goal, such as shifting Chris from a wider multi-instrumental role to allow him to prioritize his bass playing, having Kerry record the bulk of the guitars instead. “You can hear all of our musical voices a lot better on this record.â€
A carefully crafted studio sound brings the record to life, injecting it with an energetic voice that is unique to Bad Bad Hats. Walkman is the group’s fourth time working with producer Brett Bullion, including their previous two LPs, Psychic Reader and Lightning Round, and the Wide Right EP. Bullion and the band use the studio as an instrument, resulting in their most polished work to date."
Don Van Vliet is Captain Beefheart. 1000 only numbered 180 gram vinyl LPs gatefold sleeve purple vinyl. Sleeve design by legendary Led Zeppelin designer Steve Hardstaff (Jacuzzi). When Don Van Vliet sent these reels of tape to North West promoter Roger Eagle in the 1970s to make sure they got released in the UK they became stuff of legends.
140g LP re-issue + original sleeve artwork, originally released 1979.
There can be little argument that CHIC was disco's greatest band. By the time CHIC appeared in the late '70s, disco was already slipping into the excess that eventually caused its downfall. CHIC bucked the trend by stripping disco's sound down to its basic elements. CHIC's distinctive approach not only resulted in some of the finest dance singles of their time, but also helped create a template for urban funk, dance-pop, and even hip-hop in the post-disco era. 'Les Plus Grands Succes de Chic' includes 'Le Freak', 'I Want Your Love', 'Everybody Dance' and 'Good Times'
Blackest Ever Black presents Sleep Heavy, the debut album of broken-hearted, downtempo R&B/street-soul and supremely atmospheric, introspective electronics from Jabu: a trio comprised of vocalist/lyricists Alex Rendall and Jasmine Butt, and producer Amos Childs. The group was born out of Bristol's Young Echo collective: an ecosystem unto itself which has birthed and nurtured a number of other notable soundsystem-rooted projects and artists to date including Kahn & Neek, Sam Kidel, Ishan Sound, Ossia, Asda, chester giles (the title Sleep Heavy comes from a giles poem) and Killing Sound (Childs with Kidel and Vessel).

Aqua Blue Vinyl, limited to 500 copies. Between records like Relentless and Show `Em How, Pentagram have never wanted for self-awareness in terms of album titles. The gauntlet thrown down by Lightning in a Bottle is very much in this tradition. The 10th Pentagram album sees founding frontman and doom figurehead Bobby Liebling leading a new cast of players that includes guitarist/producer Tony Reed (Mos Generator, Big Scenic Nowhere, etc.), drummer Henry Vasquez (Legions of Doom, Saint Vitus, Blood of the Sun, etc.) and bassist Scooter Haslip (Mos Generator, Saltine). It would be hard to overstate the energy the new band brings to songs like "Live Again," "Solve the Puzzle" or "In the Panic Room," but Lightning in a Bottle is unmistakably a Pentagram record, of course in Liebling's unremittingly charismatic performance and the groove conjured to back it. Recorded with Reed at the helm, Lightning in a Bottle recalls the best of what has allowed Pentagram to cast an influence across decades and generations of musicians, bands, and worshippers of Riff, and as just their third studio release in the last 15 years, it's not a moment to neglect as they dig into a cut like "Dull Pain" or "Lady Heroin," the latter of which is a naked reconciliation on the part of Liebling with a lifelong addiction to opiates that's become an inextricable part of the Pentagram story. As he wonders in the lyrics, "Lady Heroin, have I seen the last of you?" it becomes difficult to know whether the separation would be through sobriety or death, and that ambiguity becomes part of what makes the song so striking.

I See A Darkness" aufnahm.

Kanot is a supergroup duo from the vibrant Gothenburg scen, its members also in Fontän and Ultra Satan. With Vind, Kanot masterfully crafts what will soon be one of the year’s most talked-about albums. On their spellbinding sophomore album, "Whispers in the Speech Machine," the young Ohio siblings from The Laughing Chimes fully embrace their Southern Gothic influences, cannily balancing the light of their infectious pop with the shadow of their rust belt environs. While attending an afterschool music program at their local opera house, Evan and his brother Quinn began recording The Laughing Chimes' debut album "In This Town," released in 2020. A string of well-received digital singles and a cassette EP for Slumberland followed, dazzling savvy pop fans with their Paisley Underground-inflected jangle that owes as much to the Flying Nun sound as it does to 80s Athens, GA.
The eight assured songs of "Whispers in the Speech Machine" prove The Laughing Chimes deserve the attention and accolades, while their approaches to songwriting and sonic aesthetics continue to evolve. "Southeast Ohio is the foothills of Appalachia, so it has this indescribable mood and atmosphere to it," guitarist/vocalist Evan Seurkamp told The Big Takeover. "Sometimes there's a haunting weight of decay you want to escape, but at the same time there is some sort of strange romanticism surrounding ghost towns. We've tried to channel those moods to add more regional flavor into our sound."
‘In Session’ is the new album from platinum selling & MOJO Awards winning artist Rumer. Having moved to the USA for a period of time, Rumer began working on a studio project to celebrate the work of Joni Mitchell. Through new arrangements of music that emerged during their work together, the idea of presenting an ‘In Session’ record was born. Coming together at James Welch’s Masterlink Studios, the songs that made her a worldwide million-seller like soulful singles “Slow” and “Aretha,” have been re-recorded here with Redtenbacher’s
Funkestra to offer a timeless collection for the seasoned fan and newcomer alike.

"KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE have landed at Waxwork Records! After much anticipation, we are thrilled to present the official 1988 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by John Massari! In this '80's cult classic, teens Mike Tobacco (Grant Cramer) and Debbie Stone (Suzanne Snyder) have to fight both the diabolical bozos and the local law enforcement's disbelief to save themselves and their community from becoming victims of intergalactic killer klowns! The original score to Killer Klowns From Outer Space is kicked off by the classic 80’s horror movie theme track, Killer Klowns (From Outer Space) by California punk band, The Dickies. The ‘nightmare merry-go-round’ continues with a smattering of menacing electronic brass sections, electric guitar, bombastic drum machine beats, & harpsichord combined with sci-fi synth elements to capture the ultra-specific origins of the antagonists. Massari's score to Klowns is a retro-synth joyride from start to finish featuring immediately recognizable cues from the beloved 80's cult-classic! Waxwork Records is thrilled to present the official Killer Klowns From Outer Space double LP, released for the first time on vinyl. Complete with “Killer Klown” handpoured colored vinyl, deluxe packaging, new artwork by Ruiz Burgos, heavyweight gatefold jackets with matte coating, a heavyweight 12”x12” art print, and liner notes by composer Massari and Klowns co-creator Stephen Chiodo!
“Deep Meaning” is the debut album by Maria Wildeis, a Cologne-based artist and expert in real-time sound design for installations.
The tracks on “Deep Meaning” oscillate between club and experimental music and are characterized by a lightness unique to debut works. Particularly notable is the inventive use of synthetic, organic, and sampled vocal elements. Voices constantly morph into melodies and back; words become notes, chords turn into text. Maria’s real-time approach to composing is evident throughout, making this album an unscripted adventure. Before you uncover the deep meaning, it has already swept you away.
Maria Wildeis researches spatial aspects in art and music, working with digital sound modeling and procedural sound synthesis. She also runs Gemeinde Köln, an art space in Cologne, Germany, which she founded in 2018.
Recorded in Cologne. Music by Maria Wildeis. Tracks 2,4 co-written by Daniel Ansorge. Additional production by Daniel Ansorge and Jens-Uwe Beyer. Mixed and mastered by Daniel Ansorge at Magazine Studio Cologne. Supported by the Cultural Office Cologne.

A warmly intimate album from Joao Gilberto - one that has the singer and guitarist in the same special space as his wonderful albums from the early 70s - a bit more sophisticated than the bossa years, but equally personal throughout!

GREAT AMERICAN GHOST is relentless in every way, shape, and form. Hellbent on pushing the envelope in every conceivable fashion since their inception in 2012, they have steadily grown as a genre defying group amongst their peers in the aggressive music world. With bludgeoning riffs and a ferociously uncompromising message, they grow stronger with every new addition to an impressive discography. The New Hampshire quartet aims to stretch the bounds even further with their forthcoming release, and having found their home with Sharptone Records, there is nothing off limits. Nothing taboo. Nothing that can't be mined as an influence or used as a milestone to further an already sharpened sound. The promise of devastating music with extreme intent is fully realized, and the future is theirs to conquer.

Lee Hazlewood's second album for MGM had something of a split personality, though both sides were an accurate depiction of various aspects of his musical mind. Released in 1967, Lee Hazlewoodism: Its Cause and Cure opens with five story-songs, most of which are dramatic narratives in which Hazlewood speaks rather than sings, approaching his recitations with all the seriousness he can muster, while Billy Strange's arrangements provide elaborate but understated accompaniment. Elsewhere, the album's second half finds Hazlewood in broader and more playful form.
The album received a **** rating on AllMusic, with reviewer Mark Deming stating that, "This LP reflects Hazlewood's wit and talents better than most."
With I recognize you from my sketches, Tabbal further refines his signature sound, delving into the spaces between memory, identity, and personal growth. This album is a meditation on the emotional disconnect between who we aspire to be and the person we ultimately become, captured through a minimalist and emotionally charged sonic landscape
