A significant force in the development of British electronic music, Fluke return to the culture and reinvigorate their forward-thinking library of material on an unexpected and powerful new album, The Second Bite.

Due for release internationally via Surface Records in association with !K7 Music, The Second Bite arrives on limited-edition, double-vinyl gatefold LP.
Driven by principal band members Jon Fugler, Mike Tournier and Julian Nugent, The Second Bite boldly yet subtly reimagines twelve Fluke tracks from different eras of the band, including crossover hits Atom Bomb, Groovy Feeling and Absurd. Retaining their peerless groove and cinematic atmosphere, the band rework each with contemporary production touches and arrangements that invite these ambitiousrecordings into a digital future.
Making a significant contribution to both rave and chillout sound systems throughout the nineties and deep into the new millennium, Fluke’s progressive sonic philosophy saw the band invited to remix boundary-pushing artists including Bjork, New Order, Talk Talk and even The Rolling Stones, while their original productions were integral to the cult soundtracks of blockbusters The Matrix Reloaded and Sin City.

Their music remains instantly recognisable to renewed generations of gamers, having featured on the multi-million selling console series’ Need For Speed: Underground as well as seminal racing game Wipeout 2097, for which the band recorded original music to feature alongside The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, The Prodigy and Underworld.
Regaining control of their original compositions, Fluke approached The Second Bite with the same sense of creative community and futurist philosophy that has been fundamental to the band since their earliest recordings. Formed on the experimental fringes of London’s nascent acid house culture, informed by a shared love of progressive electronic sounds, Fluke have remained deeply invested in the possibilities of recording technology. Decades later, reunited in a profoundly altered musical landscape, The Second Bite serves as a typically ambitious reintroduction to one of electronic music’s most essential back catalogues.

The Mexican band The Survival created a blend of blues and acid rock influenced by the U.S. West Coast movement and British blues, captured on this 1971 album-the only one they recorded. They are often described as a combination of Country Joe and the Fish, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Moby Grape, and Ten Years After. One of the rarest records ever released in Mexico, it stands as a significant testament to the "onda chicana," a historical moment when Mexican youth took up instruments to express their reality. The group formed in August 1970 and recorded a single album, "La onda de The Survival" (1971), which combined laid-back blues with distortion. One distinctive feature was that lead vocals were handled by drummer Andrés Lusher-an unusual choice that gave the band a unique sonic identity. The album captured the spirit of the time, portraying generational shifts, repression of youth, fraternity, pacifism, and the influence of drugs. Despite their brief existence, The Survival and their sole album remain a significant testament to the "onda chicana", a lasting mark on the history of Mexican rock. This is one of Nina Simone’s best albums in a long time. She’s taken a flock of Duke Ellington tunes, some familiar and some not-so-familiar, and handed them interesting and intriguing renditions in her own special style. The album’s a bit straighter than later efforts, with large backings by Stu Phillips that also feature vocals by the Malcolm Dodds Singers. The result is a masterpiece, proof that even in her early years, Nina could completely transform anything she laid her hands on, and unlock a soulful depth that even the original recordings might have missed. Titles include “I Got It Bad”, “Solitude”, “The Gal From Joe’s”, “It Don’t Mean A Thing”, and “I Like The Sunrise”.

Mit "Stoak wie a Felsen - Das Beste aus fünf Jahrzehnten" erscheint am 26. Juni anlässlich des 75. Geburtstages von Stefanie Werger eine besondere Werkschau auf farbiger Vinyl und CD, die einer der markantesten Stimmen des Austropop gewidmet ist.

Stefanie Werger ist weit mehr als eine erfolgreiche Interpretin: Sie ist eine prägende Singer/Songwriterin, die mit ihren Liedern, ihrer Sprache und ihrer Haltung über Generationen hinweg Spuren hinterlassen hat.
In einer Musikszene, die lange stark männlich geprägt war, hat sie sich mit unglaublichem Talent, künstlerischer Eigenständigkeit und einer großen Portion Charisma einen festen Platz erarbeitet und damit sehr früh eine besondere Rolle als erfolgreiche Frau in der österreichischen Pop- und Liedermacherszene eingenommen. Dolomea’s debut EP emerges from sketches developed through live sessions and studio takes. Four tracks shaped from fragmented voice recordings, shifting rhythmic structures and deep, submerged bass lines. Rafael makes a statement on his Crosstown Rebels debut with his latest two-track release, ‘Gotta Be Cool’. Out on 26th June 2026, the rising talent lands on Damian Lazarus’ imprint with one of the year’s most sought-after IDs, backed by a collaborative B-side alongside close friend N.O.Y. Long before its release, Rafael’s ‘Gotta Be Cool’ had already taken on a life of its own. Passed between dancefloors and the subject of track ID requests for months, the record became a recurring standout moment in Damian Lazarus’ sets, the kind of track that cuts through instantly without needing explanation. Now officially arriving via Crosstown Rebels, the in-demand DJ/producer’s highly anticipated label debut captures the instinctive approach that has quickly put him on the radar through releases on Beltools, Hot Creations, SZR, Planet X and Maccabi House.

Built around slow-blooming synth flourishes and vocal chants that evoke playful, almost childlike memories, it balances emotional weight with direct club energy - a combination that has made it one of the standout records in the label boss’s sets throughout the year.

On the flip, ‘Teder’ sees Rafael team up with close friend and studio collaborator N.O.Y. for a deeper, more understated cut shaped by layered percussion, fluid grooves, and loose, after-hours energy. ‘Teder,’ made together with my close friend and studio partner N.O.Y, represents a more underground side of the EP,” Rafael adds. “The track is named after the studio complex we work from, and it was actually the first record we created there together. I feel like both tracks showcase two different sides of me as a producer and DJ, with one more direct and euphoric, the other deeper and more underground.”

Simple Symmetry’s recent gig in Cape Town yielded studio magic as they connected with singer Asandisa Siswana of the Thanda Choir on ‘Inkwenkwezi,’ which literally means star in Xhosa. Representing guidance, hope, and good fortune, her immensely powerful vocal performance made for a super potent mix with SS’s big room styling, and great remix material for Lipelis who brings it all back to crowd-pleasing bubble-gum house, while Peaking Lights shine some acid on the proceedings and Multi Culti A&R Thomas Von Party gives his new Teenage Engineering drum synth a workout on the Riddim Mix.

Sessions im Studio von Rudy Van Gelder. Sie zeigen das klassische John Coltrane Quartet, teils verstärkt
durch Gäste, auf dem Höhepunkt seiner Schaffenskraft und dokumentieren die sich rasch entwickelnde
modale Sprache des Ensembles. Obwohl sich das Jazzmagazin DownBeat Coltranes Experimenten damals
nicht immer aufgeschlossen zeigte, erhielt das Album 1963 die Höchstwertung von fünf Sternen. In seiner
Rezension schrieb der Kritiker Harvey Pekar: “Nicht alle Stücke auf diesem Album sind hervorragend (was
eine Fünf-Sterne-Bewertung ja eigentlich bedeutet), aber einige sind mehr als hervorragend.”

Wir präsentieren Rattlesnake Boy", das Debütalbum des in Neuseeland lebenden Künstlers Mainard Larkin. Das Alt.Country-Konzeptalbum "Rattlesnake Boy" entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Produzenten Shannon Fowler (Tom Lark) und handelt lose von einem Pro-Wrestler am Ende seiner Karriere. Das Album wurde jedoch auch von einer zerbrochenen Beziehung inspiriert, sodass die Songs einen tiefen emotionalen Kern haben. Mainard ist seit seiner Kindheit ein Fan des professionellen Wrestlings. Als Teenager besuchte er ein Raw-Event in den USA und meldete sich sogar in einem Fitnessstudio an, um die Grundtechniken zu erlernen. Später wurde ihm klar, dass viele Wrestler der frühen 2000er Jahre in einer Branche arbeiteten, in der Drogenkonsum an der Tagesordnung war und Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsbedenken keine Rolle spielten. Mainard entschied sich, die eigenen emotionalen Kreuzungen durch die Geschichte eines Pro-Wrestlers zu erkunden, der eine ähnliche Phase des Umbruchs durchlebt.

For our third celebratory release for 30 years of Ten Lovers Music we have another Various Artist selection called Frisson EP Part B. Kicking off the A side we have Mike Perras from Canada with Handle With Care, a superb opener, deep house with a saxophone solo that certainly gave us Frisson the first time we heard it. Following on is Takahiro Fuchigami from Japan with Wired City, another dark broken beat masterpiece made for the dancefloor. Onto to the AA side we have someone who is an integral piece of the Ten Lovers Music family Jose Rico from Spain who joins forces with Ruben Valero for Harmonies & Melodies, they draft in Anthonious on the Rhodes and it’s a deep house masterpiece. Finally Lobos Marinos from Japan, band leader Kazutaka Miya brings in Miki Hirose on the Trumpet and Shin Kowaka on Drums.
