The album was inspired by the dislocation Kennan felt upon returning, after several years
away, to the rustic neighborhood northwest of L.A. where she’d grown up: “Wandering through a place where my life once existed but where everything had quietly shifted with time.”

The music conjures a mood of distance, dust, and dazed emotion, alternately lulling and unraveling. From shuffling tumbleweed vignettes (“The Lone West,” “Romantic Strings”) to sepia-tone torch songs (“Shadows,” “Reverie”) to oblique keyboard meditations (“Moonlight,” “Rain”) , Kennan’s soundworld moves with a muted, murky beauty, like alluring shapes seen through smudged glass. In her hands, haze is a transformative property, liberating melody and memory into landscapes still untraveled.

Der neue Score spiegelt die im Film angewandten Techniken wider: Analoge Synthesizer ziehen die Hörerinnen und Hörer in nebelhafte, hypnotische Klanglandschaften und feine, subtile Bewegungen hinein. Komponiert, produziert, aufgenommen und eingespielt von Mark Jenkin - unter Verwendung von Synthesizern, Gitarre, Percussion sowie Loops und Effekten - erinnern die Field Recordings an den Kontext, in dem die Musik ursprünglich entstanden ist. Während der Score zwischen ruhigen, ambienten Klangmeeren und aufbrausenden Stürmen oszilliert, behauptet er zugleich seine Wirkung als kraftvolles, eigenständiges Werk. Die physische Veröffentlichung des Scores folgt auf Jenkins dritten Spielfilm: Rose of Nevada, ein Zeitreise-Film, startet am 24. April in den Kinos in Großbritannien und Irland, gefolgt von einer Veröffentlichung auf BFI Blu-ray sowie auf dem BFI Player im Sommer.

,Future Development" ist das dritte Album von Del The Funky Homosapien und war nach seinem Weggang vom Major-Label Elektra sein erstes Solo-Album für sein Independent-Label Hieroglyphics Imperium Recordings. Ursprünglich 1997 auf Kassette veröffentlicht und später 2002 auf CD und Vinyl neu aufgelegt, stützte sich das Album größtenteils auf Dels eigene Produktion sowie Beiträge von Hiero Crew-Mitgliedern A-Plus, Opio und Toure. Der einzige Gastbeitrag auf dem Album stammt von Crew-Mitglied Casual, der Del auf dem energetischen ,Checking Out The Rivalry" begleitet. Klanglich schlägt ,Future Development" eine Brücke zwischen den funklastigen Stilen von Dels Debüt und den dunkleren, futuristischeren Texturen, die er auf ,No Need for Alarm" erkundete. Textlich verfeinert Del sein rasantes Wortspiel mit einer schärferen thematischen Ausrichtung und beschäftigt sich mit dem Leben in Oakland, gesellschaftlichen Beobachtungen und der Hip-Hop-Kultur - alles mit einer Mischung aus Humor, straßenkluger Einsicht und mehrsilbiger Gewandtheit. Letztendlich fängt das Album einen Schnappschuss seiner Entwicklung vom rohen Talent zu einem konzeptionell gereifteren Songwriter ein. Es bleibt ein bedeutendes und unterschätztes Kapitel in Dels Entwicklung, das die frühen Keime der Kreativität und Unabhängigkeit zeigt, die einen Großteil seiner weiteren Karriere prägen sollten.

"Ed DMX has been part of Shipwrec since the label's inception. Under his DMX Krew moniker, this analogue wizard has released four Eps and one LP on the Nijmegen imprint. DMX Krew returns to Shipwrec for a brand new album, a collection that displays yet another side of this sculptor's sound. Brutal and cold, shadows are long and shades dark from the outset. Drum patterns twist in tempo and intent, from hard and punishing to gentle and fragile. Elements of breaks and industrial are also present in the percussion, this fragmenting allowing deep and soulful melodies to counter the battery. In fact, echoes of electronica permeate the harmonies across the LP such as deep and divergent "Interrupt." No single style is adhered to. Instead, the full palette of machine music is employed. From the squelchy Tudor electrofunk of "I Wonder Why" to the melancholic braindance of "Rephlections in Time", genre boundaries are given little credence. Instead, Ed DMX draws on his decades of experience to create sounds that are both familiar and completely one of a kind. The deep-sea dive of "Final Comedown" is juxtaposed with the ambling calypso of "Dinosaur Reaction", styles reimagined and reshaped to the creator's evolving purpose. Echoes of the halcyon days of Rephlex permeate the 2LP. The harshness and softness of the Cornwall imprint being present throughout, those more subtle tones coming to the fore in the delicate beauty of the "Phaser Level 2." This record was born like in the classic 90s from jam sessions in the studio, when musicians caught the groove and connected their deep universes, showing true love for house music. Everything is combined here - the sound of drum machines 909 and not only, atmospheric acid impulses of 303, classic pads that paint these paintings bright and filled with deep meaning, as well as much more. Amazing two sides and four compositions, each with its own story.

The Midnight Seduction track opens the telling of these stories on side A. From the first seconds, immersing in the atmosphere of synthesizer temptation, the analog bass line combined with the default drum section and elements of bright metal claps quickly gain the necessary energy and immerse in the images of a closed nightclub with long corridors and hidden dance floors. The light plume of the classic M1 organ and the accentuating Acid lead maintain balance. Secret nocturnal seduction, light ecstasy and an atmosphere of love.

French Kiss - everything is great here, as soon as you listen to the harmony of accordion-like synthesizers and deeply addictive pads, you are instantly transported to the image of Parisian streets. Elements of bells, a rhythm section filled with unpredictable percussion, acid inclusions and an unexpected immersion into a broken beat in the middle of the composition, a real deep French kiss.

Matpri is known for its sophisticated approach to music and is rightfully the guru of micro and minimal house. Having created the maximum sound quality of the rhythm section and the deep bass that was addictive from the first seconds, mixing old-school vibe, while not losing touch with his minimalistic sound image, he filled the House Template track with the smallest details and percussion, which is confidently based on the B-side.

Four certainly high-quality compositions were created in the studio of Artem Stan in the mountains of Krasnaya Polyana and one of the tracks on the B-side - "Nasha Polyana" - is dedicated to this location, it conveys a certain playful atmosphere of a mountain village with a vibe of complete freedom and daily carefree. Nach ihrer gemeinsamen Interpretation von I See A Darkness mit Perfume Genius kündigt Anna Calvi die neue EP Is This All There Is? an, die am 20. März erscheint. Die vier Songs versammeln Kollaborationen mit Perfume Genius, Iggy Pop, Laurie Anderson und Matt Berninger.

Eröffnet wird die EP von God’s Lonely Man, in dem Calvi Iggy Pop die Stimme eines zerstörerischen inneren Monologs überlässt. Der Song ist von nervöser Energie getragen: kantige Gitarren, antreibende Drums, eine direkte Konfrontation mit emotionaler Stagnation. Pop verkörpert dabei genau jene rohe Präsenz, die Calvi für die Erzählung suchte.

Is This All There Is? bildet den ersten Teil einer geplanten Trilogie, die Identität als etwas Veränderliches begreift, geformt durch Nähe, Liebe und biografische Brüche. Ausgangspunkt ist Calvis eigene Erfahrung des Mutterwerdens, die ihren Blick auf Sicherheit, Verantwortung und Möglichkeiten verschoben hat. Die EP kreist um grundlegende Fragen moderner Existenz: Wie lässt sich Intimität neu denken? Was bedeutet es, sich wirklich verbunden zu fühlen? Und wann fühlt man sich wach?

Neben dem bereits veröffentlichten I See A Darkness interpretiert Calvi gemeinsam mit Laurie Anderson Kraftwerks Computer Love neu. Mit Andersons Stimme im Zentrum und choralen Arrangements entsteht ein Stück über digitale Nähe und emotionale Distanz. In ihrer Gesamtheit wirkt die EP wie ein zusammenhängender filmischer Bogen – vier Songs, vier Perspektiven, eine fortlaufende Erzählung.
Is This All There Is? versteht Kollaboration nicht als Zusatz, sondern als Strukturprinzip: Die Stimmen der Beteiligten werden zu Figuren innerhalb eines gemeinsamen Klangraums, in dem Fragen offen bleiben dürfen.

GRAMMY-prämierte Rap-Ikone Nas und DJ Premier – zwei der einflussreichsten und angesehensten Persönlichkeiten der Hip-Hop-Geschichte – veröffentlichten ihr mit Spannung erwartetes Kollaborationsalbum „Light-Years“ am 12. Dezember digital über Mass Appeal Nach den limitierten Day Ones Editionen gibt es nun die regulären Editionen mit Artwork, ab 20. Februar 2026.

Nach jahrzehntelanger Vorfreude ist „Light-Years“ die Wiedergeburt einer 30-jährigen Zusammenarbeit. Die Partnerschaft von Nas und DJ Premier ist tief in der DNA des Hip-Hop verwurzelt. Ihre Geschichte begann 1994 mit „Illmatic“, das Hits wie „N.Y. Gordon trägt darin ein eigens für sie gefertigtes, handgefärbtes Seidentüllkleid. Der Song offenbart eine neue, fast poetische Spannung in ihrer Stimme: "Da kam eine andere Stimme zum Vorschein", so Gordon. "PLAY ME" ist ein konzentriertes, direktes Album, das ihren Sound um melodischere Beats und den motorischen Drive des Krautrock erweitert. Entstanden ist es erneut mit Produzent Justin Raisen (Charli XCX, Sky Ferreira, Yves Tumor). Die Songs sind kurz, prägnant und stark rhythmusorientiert - fokussierter und selbstbewusster als zuvor. Nach "No Home Record" (2019) und "The Collective" (2024, zwei Grammy-Nominierungen) richtet Gordon den Blick auf die Gegenwart: Tech-Macht, KI-getriebene Kulturverflachung, den Abbau demokratischer Strukturen und den absurden Alltag des Spätkapitalismus. Trotz dieser Themen ist "PLAY ME" ein nach innen gewandtes, geradezu körperliches und ebenso emotionales Album. Mit verzerrten Stimmen und schroffen Beats legen Songs wie "Square Jaw", "Dirty Tech" oder "Busy Bee" gesellschaftliche Realitäten frei. Die A-Seite, der Titeltrack ,Cut & Rewind", ist ein Post-Punk-Femme-Funk-Track mit den mitreißenden Harmonien der Gruppe und einer unverkennbaren Funk-Base/Basslinie. Modeselektor kündigen mit "Classics Vol. 1" einen neuen Release samt begleitender Live-Konzert-Tour an.

Mit "Classics Vol. 1" (CV1) veröffentlichen Modeselektor eine besondere Edition, die wie ein musikalischer Lebenslauf funktioniert. CV steht nicht zufällig für Curriculum Vitae. Eigentlich wollten Szary und Gernot alte Tracks aus ihren ersten beiden Alben "Hello Mom!" und "Happy Birthday!" neu aufnehmen. Doch was als Rekonstruktion begann, verwandelte sich fast vollständig in etwas Neues. Eine frische Sammlung von Stücken, die den Geist ihrer frühen Releases atmet, ohne sie einfach zu kopieren. Das Duo blickt zurück und erschafft dabei Zukunft. Tracks wie "KILL BILL Vol.4", "Edgar" und andere Albentitel dienten als Ausgangsmaterial, wurden zig mal auseinander und wieder zusammengebaut, neu interpretiert und dann doch in den meisten Fällen nur als abstrakte Inspiration verwendet. Das Ergebnis ist eine Rückschau, die sich emanzipiert hat. Ein mutiges Experiment, ein gescheiterter Versuch im allerbesten Sinne.

SPEICHER-Ikone und gefeierte Clubmacht KÖLSCH debütiert auf KOMPAKT mit dem Album '1977', einer außergewöhnlichen Sammlung von elektronischen Juwelen, die seine frühen Meisterwerke mit exklusivem neuen Material verzahnt. Hier finden Monument, Irrsinn & Biss unter einem gemeinsamen, kennerhaft austarierten Groove zusammen und bereichern die Erlebniswelten von
Heimtänzern wie Flurhunden... dein neuer bester Freund ist da und es ist eine Platte.

Tatsache: trotz des Namens und unserer wohldokumentierten Vorliebe für Kölner Bier ist KÖLSCH kein Rheinländer und er hat sich auch nicht nach dem Lokalbräu benannt. Selbst weltweit hoch gehandelte Hits und eine Reihe profilträchtiger Live-Auftritte scheinen allerdings nichts daran zu ändern, daß der preisgekrönte dänische Produzent Rune Reilly Kölsch regelmäßig konfuse Fragen nach dem eigenen Namen weggrätschen muß. Und doch könnte er nicht deutlicher werden: man denke an etablierte Flurfavoriten wie OPA, DER ALTE oder SILBERPFEIL... diese Tracktitel beziehen sich samt und sonders auf Runes Erinnerungen an eine Kindheit in Deutschland. Anders gesagt: ja, der heißt wirklich so.

'1977' ist nicht einfach nur entseeltes 'Best Of'-Gemenge: mit brandneuen Eisen wie BASSHUND, BAPPEDECKEL und EISWINTER im Feuer braucht KÖLSCH sich nun wirklich keine Gedanken über die zukünftige Wirkgeschichte seines Werks zu machen. Und dann ist da eine Rillenzirze wie OMA, hoch emotionaler Konterpart zum leicht sardonischen OPA und in jeder Hinsicht ebenso mitreissend wie die kanonische Überballade ALL THAT MATTERS. Für das große Finale schließlich wendet sich Rune an LORELEY, das bestimmende Initialrelease des Projekts und bis heute ein massiver Kracher von eigenem Recht - in der Tat so gewaltig, daß der Schock von gleich zwei weiteren Tracks gepuffert werden muss, dem dramatischen WASSERSCHUTZ und einem trojanischen Pferd namens FELIX. Letzteres sollte ja eigentlich eine Art Outro für das Album sein... doch dann hat jemand den Knopf gedrückt und das transdimensionale Portal erwachte zum Leben.

Mathias Kaden returns to Rekids with ‘Fyutr’, following his previous four releases on the label and once again linking up with DJ, producer, and vocalist Zoë Xenia, who also featured on his 2022 ‘Blackbird’ EP on the label. Set for release on 27th February 2026, the single offers an early glimpse into Kaden’s forthcoming album on Radio Slave’s flagship imprint, and comes with a remix from New York House legend, Dennis Ferrer.

A slow-burner with real progression, Mathias Kaden’s ‘Fyutr’ unfolds as a mind-melting journey. Dub chords creep in gently before stretching and mutating, while Zoë Xenia’s spoken-word vocal drifts through the mix, and sweeping strings give it a deep, timeless feel. The single is complemented by a remix from Dennis Ferrer, who flips the original into a beefy, pared-back House cut, warping Xenia’s vocals and locking into a rolling groove before resolving in lush chord work.

Active since the mid-90s, Kaden first appeared on Rekids in 2019 and has since built a wide-ranging catalogue across labels such as Cocoon and Vakant, alongside remix work for DJ Koze, KiNK, Monika Kruse, and Trentemøller. ‘Fyutr’ marks his fifth release on the label, following last year’s ‘Freedom’ remix EP, which received support from Ben Sims, Anja Schneider, Kölsch, Honey Dijon, and more.

Vom Wall Street Journal als "eine der faszinierendsten Sängerinnen der modernen Musik" beschrieben, hat die in New York geborene und in Tamil Nadu aufgewachsene Sängerin und Multi-Instrumentalistin GANAVYA Details zu ihrem neuen Album "Daughter of a Temple" veröffentlicht, das am 15. November 2024 erscheinen soll. Das Album folgt auf ihren Auftritt bei SAULTs umjubeltem Live-Debüt 2023 in London, bei dem, laut The Guardian, ihre "Stimme eine zarte emotionale Kraft hatte, die selbst Stoiker zu weinenden Wracks machen konnte." Für "Daughter of a Temple" lud ganavya über 30 Künstler*innen verschiedener Disziplinen zu einer rituellen Zusammenkunft nach Houston ein. Dementsprechend sind auf dem entstandenen Album zahlreiche Mitwirkende zu hören, darunter renommierte Musiker*innen wie esperanza spalding, Vijay Iyer, Shabaka Hutchings, Immanuel Wilkins und Peter Sellars. Bristol-based provider of tough and sinewy drum & bass, Holsten has proved himself one to watch with successes on UVB-76 Music, Hotline and Rupture, not to mention a clutch of releases on the essential label, Droogs. This EP sees him offering up four battle weapons that lean towards the glory days of techstep. Opener 'Burn' goes for apocalyptic bass and a hardstepping outer shell, finished off with nicely unsettling sonics. 'Service Kru 2' is the roasting Amen-led roller, with Dillinja-esque sidewinding edits, kung fu samples and ravey stabs. Flip it over for 'Twisted Music', tense and edgy rather than full on blasting, while closer 'Projectiles', remixed by Overlook, steams its way to the run out groove with the kind of dystopian intensity that fans of classic No U-Turn will be very comfortable with. Producer and label alike are both on the rise, so get on it.

Krope is a six-part conceptual album by Belarusian sound artist and producer Anton Anishchanka. Rooted in archival folk songs recorded between the 1960s and 2000s, it transforms fragile voices of the past into living, cinematic sound worlds. Created in collaboration with ethnographer Iryna Vasilyeva, the album weaves Belarusian traditional music with field recordings, acoustic instruments, and analog synthesizers — an immersive journey where memory, landscape, and resilience converge.

Flowing as one continuous suite, Krope unfolds like a film: memory re-emerges, fragile yet persistent, shaping an emotional narrative of displacement, loss, endurance, and hope. The archival voices at its core — songs of love, exile, and mourning — resonate across decades, echoing the urgent realities of today. The album flows as a single, immersive sonic odyssey. From the tender rejection in Krope (Dill) to the grief carved in Dubrovuška (Oak Grove), it traces an arc of human experience that is both deeply personal and universally shared. By reimagining traditional music through contemporary sound art, Anishchanka preserves endangered cultural heritage while revealing its timeless relevance.

Diese Box enthält remasterte Audio-Versionen des Original-Album-Mixes und der seltenen griechischen
LP-Version von 1974 (die einen deutlich anderen Mix als die Original-LP-Veröffentlichung aufwies) sowie
eine Blu-ray-Disc mit 96 kHz / 24-Bit-Atmos- & 5.1-Upmixen & Stereo-Mix, die alle von Vangelis betreut
wurden. Die Disc enthält außerdem als Bonus eine 28-minütige Episode der französischen Fernsehsendung
Discorama vom Juni 1972, in der Vangelis über das Album spricht (mit englischen Untertiteln).
Die Box enthält ein reich bebildertes Buch mit einem neuen Essay und Originalinterviews mit der Band
sowie vielen bisher unveröffentlichten Fotos, die Vangelis kurz vor seinem Tod im Mai 2022 in seinen
verschiedenen Archiven in Europa aufgestöbert hat.

Transparent grünes Vinyl! Wieder lieferbar! Zum ersten Mal überhaupt seit der digital-only Veröffentlichung 2011 erscheint nun der erste "Minecraft"-Soundtrack in physischer Form. Die Vinylversion enthält zwölf Tracks! "Minecraft - Volume Alpha" ist das Werk des deutschen Komponisten und Musikers Daniel Rosenfeld. Unter seinem Künstlernamen C418 erschuf Rosenfeld den weitreichenden Soundtrack und das lebendige Sounddesign, das das auf Voxel aufgebaute Universum von "Minecraft" zum Leben erweckte. Fans und Kritiker waren durch die Bank weg begeistert von seinen beatlosen, ausgewogenen Electro-Stücken. Die bekannte Gaming Seite "Kotaku" führte den Soundtrack unter der "Best Game Music" 2011 und nannte die Musik "beeindruckend beruhigend", während The Guardian die zerbrechlichen Stücke Rosenfelds aus Klavier und minimalistischem Ambient mit den legendären Künstlern ERIK SATIE und BRIAN ENO. In einem Interview destillierte Polygon "Volume Alpha" auf seine Essenz hinuntern: "Der Soundtrack ist nicht gebunden an die Retro-Ästhetik der Minecraft Graphik. Dark Entries returns to the steam room with Coatshek’s Sound Bath. For their SoundBaths series, now-defunct poppers brand Double Scorpio commissioned artists to make mixes for an imaginary queer bathhouse. When asked to contribute, San Francisco-based artist Coatshek aka Sheki Cicelsky took the opportunity to create original compositions. The resulting album, Sound Bath, serves as a masterclass in slow and sultry ambient techno. Taking inspiration from Pink Floyd, Manuel Göttsching’s E2-E4, and his friend’s DJ mixes (particularly Nick Moss and Matthew Paul’s for “Por Detroit”), Coatshek landed on 107 bpm as the optimal speed for sauna sex. With just a few synths, his Telecaster, and “lots of delays, reverb, and weed,” he sculpted stunning cuts like the effortlessly grooving “Softest” and the psych-laced “Triple Virgo.” The cover for Sound Bath was designed by Coatshek’s fiancé Nate Sprecher, and features photographs by Luke Kraman taken at The Ever Afters campout. The album also includes an insert featuring the Double Scorpio SoundBaths series artwork by Blake Wright. Equally hypnogogic and sexually supercharged, Sound Bath situates the bathhouse as a liminal dreamspace of unbounded erotic potentiality.

After a series of successful outings alongside sidekicks Ofofo and Zongamin, studio wizard MYTRON turns in his debut solo full-length for Multi Culti World Records. With contributions on Invisible Inc, Calypso, Bongo Joe, Kalahari Oyster Cult, LYO, Codek Records and Earthly Measures, Mytron has carved out a name for himself in a carefully-curated left-field quadrant of the indie-dance galaxy. Tuning his oscillators to myriad sounds — from dub and disco to krautrock — the London-based producer perhaps most notably channels the pristine compositional style of Kraftwerk. While most apparent in the use of vocoder, there’s a consistent efficiency of arrangement that recalls the man-machine in effervescent, idealistic fashion. Mytron manages to keep it simple, funky and musical — whimsical tunes that bop along with analog grit, wilderness, and wonk. There’s a warmth and wit that shine through every synth line, an understated confidence that speaks of years spent tangled in wires and waveforms, with an inclusive sonic eclecticism that flattens hierarchies between genres, geographies, and generations. Each influence is invited to the table, treated not as pastiche but invited to dine and dance in a space where kosmische dub disco and Afro rhythms can coexist without borders. The sleeve design echoes this philosophy: video-feedback patterns hinting at our modern screens, both portals and filters — coloured, distorted intermediaries through which we perceive the world. In the trippiest sense, the record is both reflection and refraction — a sonic mirror held up to an interconnected, glitchy reality. Tailored equally for DJ use and home-listening head trip, the album is meticulous, mischievous and merry.

On Mytron’s debut long-player for Multi Culti groovy 21st Century leftfield house gear collides with Daniele Baldelli and Beppe Loda’s hugely influential `80s afro / cosmic. The 9 tracks are chunky, chugging and full of funky, funny noises. Old school B-lines mixing with eccentric electronics. Spinning, spiralling sounds.

Sugar is an electro-pop, vocoder confection, cut from the same sonic cloth as cult classics like Codek’s Tam Tam. Created from tough trap drums, splashing effects and a mutant Giorgio Moroder bass arpeggio. The title track, Propellor, pits Kraftwerk-esque hardware harmonised vocals against a bongo loop and a whistling hook. Playground has simian shrieks surround tumbling tom-toms. Highway Maintenance adds kosmische synths to a dance of woodblocks and buzzing bottom end. Keep On Dubbing is an organ-led, clip clopping percussive canter.

Tracks such as Speaker Can Talk, shot through with disco lasers blasts and recalling Curt Cress’ Dschung Tek, also lift the tempo up, but the bulk of the music here is a mid-tempo, techno drum circle. Squelchy sequences gurgling in and out of programmed percussion. On Quasar, spiky acid edges in and slowly takes over.

Key references that come to mind are Baldelli’s own turn-of-the-2000s Cosmic Sound Project productions, and Wolf Müller’s scene shaking sides on Themes For Great Cites, from around a decade later.

Zürich-based musician Angelo Repetto returns with his new album Between Worlds: Interference, released on Subject to Restrictions Discs. The record is the result of a unique collaboration with Argentinian visual artist Clara Grabowiecki, extending their immersive live project Between Worlds into a sonic and tangible form.

«This album is a continuation of the deep conversations Clara and I had about concepts of perception that led us to question silence, time, transcendence, and the future», says Repetto. «It’s not about finding answers, but about opening spaces where sound, image, and emotion can flow freely.»

Between Worlds: Interference oscillates between hypnotic rhythms, kraut-inspired synth layers, and psychedelic atmospheres – hallmarks of Repetto’s style that listeners may recognize from earlier releases such as Sundown Explosion and Kamiokande. At its core it is an invitation into an open dimension where disciplines, experiences, and realities dissolve into one another. Two different sound journeys inspired by the majestic and peaceful Pacific Ocean, the vastest, largest and deepest ocean of our planet.

Vica Pacheco’s composition takes a calm meditation approach where water flutes and synths brush shoulders to create a ever expanding mind journey whereas Pak Yan Lau’s ambitions Neo classical piece, The Ocean in Us, talks about that grand overwhelming feeling, that vast space deep under, on the bottom of the Pacific. Both compositions were recorded and created with the particular wet acoustics of the Tank in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in mind.

A cascade of islands runs along its eastern flank, down from the Kamchatka peninsula, through Japan, Taiwan, The Philippines, Melanesia and on to Australasia. In its watery heart the islands of Micronesia and Polynesia stretch across huge distances, north-east to the Hawaiian archipelago, south east to Rapa Nui and south west to Aotearoa and Chatham island. Closer to the shores of the Americas lie Tierra del Fuego, the Galapagos Islands, Haida Gwaii and the Aleutians. This is a space that resists easy characterisation. The Pacific laps the shores of Japan and Chile, the beaches of Australia’s East Coast and the cold, damp coasts of British Colombia and Alaska alike. Francois Kevorkian is a name that should need no introduction. With over 40 years in the game FK has occupied numerous roles in his long and storied career - drummer, DJ, A&R man, remixer and producer - his skills know no boundaries. Having DJ-ed during the nascent days of club culture in NYC alongside Walter Gibbons, Larry Levan and more, Kevorkian has been there from day one. Years spent in the seminal clubs of the day sharpened his ears and his prowess behind the mixing desk saw him become the A&R man at the legendary Prelude records in the early 80's, this in turn led to him working with everyone from The Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, Erasure, D-Train, Yazoo, The Smiths, Kraftwerk and many many more. A true NYC original and legend, Kevorkian is still active today and the respect he commands amongst his peers has never waned, his adventurous extended DJ sets, seminal mixes and remixes and his open ears and open mind have ensured that he will go down in history as a musical pioneer.

Ausdrucksstarke Gesänge in freien Versen, begleitet von gleitenden Violinen, gehämmertem Santouri, Gitarre und Oud - die hybriden Klänge des Mittelmeerraums zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts. ,Aman Aman" rufen die Sänger auf diesen Aufnahmen, deren Stimmen auf 78-U/min-Schallplatten aus den Jahren 1911 bis 1935 verewigt sind. Der Ausdruck bedeutet in etwa ,Gnade" und ist ein Ausdruck der Verzweiflung, aber auch der Freude und Bewunderung. Auf vielen dieser Platten wird die ganze Bandbreite dieser Emotionen auf einmal vermittelt. Einige dieser Künstler sind Legenden, andere sind in Vergessenheit geraten. Fast die Hälfte sind Sängerinnen, die einen großen Teil der Tradition des Cafe Aman ausmachen, aber in zeitgenössischen Veröffentlichungen nicht so stark vertreten sind. Alle waren von den Konflikten betroffen, die zur Kleinasiatischen Katastrophe von 1923 führten, sowie von den Zwangsmigrationen zwischen Griechenland und der Türkei davor und danach. Ihre Werke spiegeln diese Reisen wider - erschütternde Gedichte über den Verlust der Liebe und der Heimat, begleitet von einigen der besten Musiker der damaligen Zeit. Nach jahrelanger intensiver Recherche hören wir die präzisen, einfühlsamen und überwältigend kraftvollen Stimmen von Künstlern wie Antonis ,Dalgas" Diamantidis, Sofrouniou und Stellakis Perpiniadis, zusammen mit aufschlussreichen Aufnahmen von weitgehend unbekannten Musikern, deren Werke hier zum ersten Mal veröffentlicht werden. Die LP wurde von Jordan McLeod im Osiris Studio sorgfältig remastered und restauriert und enthält detaillierte historische und diskografische Anmerkungen von Stavros Kourousis sowie poetische Übersetzungen der Texte von Tony Klein. Suburban Architecture are pleased to announce the second release in their 'New Town Dubs' series, following in the footsteps of the now Sold Out 'Architecture Dubs' series. Whereas 'Architecture Dubs' enlisted remixers from Drum & Bass's mid 90s golden era (among them the likes of Peshay, Blame, 4Hero and Ray Keith), 'New Town Dubs' turns its attention to the new breed of producers inspired by the sounds of Drum & Bass and Jungle's foundations.

On the A-Side, a rinsing Amen rework of 2022 roller 'Distant Response' comes courtesy of Law, the name behind the prolific Repertoire imprint. With releases on labels including Silent Force, Rupture and of course Repertoire, Law has been a major player in the Jungle revival sound for over a decade.

Over on the flip, Melbourne based producer Kloke delivers a stripped back rework of 'Rising', taken from this year's 'Vivid' EP. With releases on Future Retro, Hyperdub and Diamond Life, Kloke is a frequent collaborator with Tim Reaper and has collaborated with many of the notable producers and labels representing Jungle's new wave.

Pressed on 10" vinyl and housed in brown Kraft paper sleeves, the series makes visual reference to the exclusive dubplate pressings which introduced so many classic cuts to the UK's dancefloors in the 90s.

This is the debut release from Laguna Seca, a new project from Porto based Mike Jefford. It foreshadows a new body of work, steeped in 70s nostalgia, refracted though sounds that could belong to krautrock, disco, electronica, noisy alt rock and everything in between. Mike has previously recorded as Positive Centre releasing textural, experimental techno on such labels as Stroboscopic Artefacts, SNTS and Leyla. After mastering his forthcoming 2026 debut album ‘O Tempo’, Mike Jefford caught a second wind of inspiration. In just seven frantic days he recorded the heap of tracks that formed the basis of 'Live from Müsli Mountain’. It soon became clear that these tracks foreshadowed the album perfectly and the EP was born.

Named after the California raceway, this project fuses 1970s recording techniques, modern electronics and psychedelic retrofuturism, it’s a pyramid of sonic adventure that will be explored deeper on the album next year.

Danny Krivit pays tribute to the royal family of soul with a double A-side of classic house remixes from Michael and Janet, both appearing on 7-inch for the first time. Standouts from the revered era of ’90s house, these tracks have remained a steady presence in Krivit’s sets, a testament to their timeless appeal.

Mr. K’s edit of ‘Remember The Time’ takes E-Smoove’s punchy Late Nite remix from the original 1992 12-inch single — already considered the strongest mix on the release — and carefully condenses it to fill a 7-inch, retaining all the best elements while adding a highly mixable intro and a unique acapella ending. This edit might now be the definitive version of this classic club tune! The original mix of Janet’s ‘Any Time, Any Place’ hit radio in 1993, but it wasn’t until the following year when Darryl James and David Anthony’s smoothly uplifting and funky remix really took off in all the clubs, and it’s this D&D remix that Krivit turns his attention to for the flip side of this new MEU 45. A favorite of Frankie Knuckles, and Body & Soul, ‘Any Time, Any Place’ has remained a go-to cut for Mr. K, who shares his personal edit here on the compact format for the very first time.

Two decades into his winding voyage through music, culture and creativity, Tom Trago has become part of the densely woven fabric of the Dutch electronic scene - a producer, DJ, label owner, collaborator, remixer, radio host and DJ's DJ who is renowned not only for his impressive productivity, but also the genuine depth and variety of his work. While it was Trago's distinctive DJ sets that once grabbed headlines - he famously held residencies at renowned Amsterdam institutions Trouw and De School, and for a decade spent much of his time jetting between some of the most renowned clubs in Europe - in recent years Tom has cut down on appearances. Today, he chooses to be far more selective about where (and when) he DJs or performs live, often working with a handful of cherished venues and festivals while ensuring that his travels are sustainable and inspiring. Instead of the grind of touring and hedonistic night-time activity, Trago has chosen to focus on music-making, alongside semi-regular forays into radio broadcasting (NTS, Radio Radio, BBC Radio and EchoBox). He now spends most of his days producing and remixing at his new SR-3 studio in Alkmaar and his seaside home-come-studio in Bergen aan Zee. As part of these lifestyle and career changes, Trago took time to look deeper, not only inside himself, but also for musical inspiration. Tom has always loved, and devoted time to, digging into a wide variety of production styles, using this inspiration to develop a trademark personal production style, but in recent years he has taken it even further. Fuelled by a desire to challenge himself, Tom consistently tries new things in the studio while channeling all he's learned during a career that has moved forwards at breakneck speed. Since making his debut in 2006, Trago has released six critically acclaimed albums (two of which, the eclectic, beat-focused, career-spanning, Patta-released archive dive, 18, and the dancefloor excursion, Trembala, appeared in 2022); extensively worked with Dutch electronic music institutions Rush Hour and Dekmantel; collaborated with countless friends and contemporaries (Charlie Soul Clap, Awanto 3, Maxi Mill, Steffi, San Proper, Seth Troxler, and BokBok included); remixed artists including New Order, Carl Craig, Cassius, Tiga and Erol Alkan, and championed a swathe of fellow Dutch producers via the Voyage Direct label he founded in 2009. In 2025 Tom returns to legendary Dutch label Magnetron Music, home to Fatima Yamaha, DMX Krew, Legowelt, Staygold and many other, to release his Magnus Opus; Ignorance.

Jana Koubková has long been one of the leading figures of Czech jazz, defined by rhythm, improvisation, playfulness and atmosphere. These new reimaginings of her tracks open a fresh chapter within the LBDISSUES series.

The original recordings, released in the late 80s, are almost impossible to pigeonhole into any single genre. Call it world music, call it jazz, call it avant garde, and you would be both right and wrong at the same time.

These remixes work for adventurous DJs as well as for listening in one continuous flow, where they almost read as a mini album. Trent's take on "Nijana" reshapes the piece from a tropical tribal mood into a cosmic downtempo roller, while Prague based artist Desteffan brings a completely new perspective to "Pipu", "Horor" and "Krocej". His versions draw from downtempo and trip hop influences, spontaneous live instrument jams and even flashes of EBM. And last but not least, "Vanany Vanyna" marks the return of label mainstay Regular Customer, whose reinterpretation expands the rhythm of the original into mid-tempo territory with a disco leaning feel. They all honour Jana's original sound while pushing it into unexplored terrain.

Now in her eighties and still performing, Jana is not being revisited here for nostalgia's sake. These tracks represent the next step in her remarkable and ever-evolving musical journey

Before the Khmer Rouge took power in 1975, unleashing a horrifying genocide, Cambodia had one of the most vibrant and exciting music scenes in Asia. With a mixture of traditional Khmer music and a myriad of western genres (from French and latin music, to rock-and-roll , rhythm-and-blues, surf, psychedelia, soul and many more) the few pre 75 Cambodian recordings that survived -most of them were destroyed- are enough to make anyone with a taste for good music shocked by the amazing quality of the sounds created during those golden years. Gathered in this amazing album are some of the most talented and unique musicians from that amazing era with an explosive collection of tracks sure to blow the mind of the listener. A celebration of some of the best music ever made.

This autumn, on the occasion of his fortieth birthday, Ibrahim Maalouf will release his 12th studio album named "40 Melodies". Maalouf has teamed up with his longtime friend and collaborator Belgian guitarist François Delporte for an intimist duet album. The duet revisits Ibrahim's most memorable melodies, through his albums, to the soundtracks, including a few exclusive new tracks.

This album includes many renowned surprise guests (Sting, Matthieu Chedid, Alfredo Rodriguez, Richard Bona, Trilok Gurtu, Hüsnü Senlendrici, Jon Batiste, Arturo Sandoval, and others). Ibrahim gets back to his roots, and to the basics: a trumpet, a guitar, and 40 melodies to celebrate his fortieth anniversary.

On his debut album “Scattered Memories”, the composer, musician and true master on the Iranian spike fiddle kamancheh SABA ALIZADEH blends his instrumental virtuosity with spherical electronics, samples of Persian music instruments and field recordings from his hometown Tehran.

Born in Tehran in 1983 as son of the world renowned Tar and Setar virtuoso HOSSEIN ALIZADEH, SABA ALIZADEH studied the Iranian spike fiddle with SAEED FARAJPOURY and KEYHAN KALHOR plus photography and later experimental sound art with MARK TRAYLE at the California Institute of the Arts, Los Angeles. His musical activities that lead him all around the globe for performances (a.o. at Carnegie Hall) branch into 2 different areas: on the one side ALIZADEH is a highly reputated virtuoso on his traditional instrument, on the other he likes to approach music from a more experimental / technological aspect in his electronic / electro-acoustic pieces. This not being enough, he founded Noise Works in 2014, a platform and label for organizing experimental concerts and for the transfer of knowledge of music technologies among young Iranian musicians which makes him a central figure at the forefront of the current, very vivid Persian music scene that gained a lot of attention through artists like SIAVASH AMINI, PORYA HATAMI and of course SOTE who included a track by ALIZADEH on the compilation “Girih: Iranian Sound Artists” that he had curated.

In 2018, ALIZADEH self-released his debut “Scattered Memories” on CD in Iran which now, in a reworked version, sees its deserved world-wide release as LP and DL. Over the course of 10 tracks ALIZADEH melts his 2 musical worlds into 1: tradition meets modernism, eastern sounds meet western production, folklore meets contemporary electronics. An album that will appeal to an open-minded “world music” audience as well as fans of current streams like ambient or drone in its most subtle forms.

It’s with great pride that we announce this amazing album on Optimo Music from Portland-based duo Natural Magic. It was the final vinyl release that Keith McIvor aka JD Twitch put into production before his untimely departure in late September this year.

Having been a long time lover of everything krautrock, space rock, experimental and psychedelic it seems more than fitting that he leaves us this LP as his parting gift; because this sublime album is all these things wrapped up into one and much more.

The album’s opening track “Galaxy Builder”, with its driving tempo, monolithic bass and screaming guitars might give the impression we’re about to hear a Neu for the 21st Century, but no, by the 2nd track we’re already on the first of several wild detours into uncharted territories: part shoe gaze, part ethereal, part psychedelia it’s a unique piece of beautiful euphoria from start to finish. By the time we reach the end of the A-side’s closing track “Distant Bells” the whole place is in tears after hearing possibly one of the most poignant pieces of electronic music of the entire year.

The B-side takes us even deeper into this trip through the duo’s homeland in the Pacific Northwest opening with “Skyward Eye”. If the Orb had ever teamed up with Slowdive and gotten Andrew Weatherall on production this could be it. “Get It Right” is a fuzz-filled epic with heavy dub leanings and meanings...it soars high up into the beyond and prepares us for “Ride”; an unashamed space voyage in the true sense…cosmic guitars, laden with FX; before returning gently down to the rolling green hills of Earth with the closing track “Chugsby’s Theme”. Whoever Chugsby is, his vibe is organic, deeply grounded and beautiful.

“Natural Magic II is a west coast road trip soundtrack for the fading summer. Taking inspiration from the majesty and myths of their home in the Pacific Northwest, the seven track album is culled from the late night, dimly lit, live sessions of Mike McKinnon on keys/drums and Matthew Quiet on bass. Overdubs of guitar, synths and percussion followed. All this from the same space they throw their legendary Limited Edition parties - all-night free experimentation celebrations in their own right. The album art work is handmade flower pigments, opium poppy pollen ink and wood-scrap charcoal by their friend and collaborator Pith Cocomici. Roll the widows down, tilt the seat back and turn it up. Gas, grass or black mass... there's magic in the hills.

Between 2023 and 2025, L.F.T. split his time between Hamburg and Berlin, slowly piecing together what would become his most ambitious work to date. The result is Hell Was Boring - a double album that plays like a fever dream, unfolding as a dark, mythical tale about life, death, and the strange spaces in between.


L.F.T. - the alias of German producer and multi-instrumentalist Johannes Haas - has always thrived on tension: between punk urgency and electronic precision, between raw emotion and mechanical repetition. On Hell Was Boring, those tensions are amplified. Drawing on the spectral drama of Bauhaus, the melancholic minimalism of Linear Movement, the futuristic romanticism of Gary Numan, and even the sly swagger of Falco, the album feels at once deeply personal and part of a much older musical lineage.


The sound is stripped down to its bones: drums snap and rattle from a Roland TR-808, TR-707 and Korg KR-55; basslines growl from a Roland SH-101 and Korg MS-20; shards of guitar cut through clouds of tape hiss. Everything was tracked to a Teac Tascam 80-8 reel-to-reel, giving each track a lived-in, imperfect warmth. Nothing is overpolished - L.F.T. wanted the listener to hear the edges, the grit, the moments when the music almost comes apart.


Along the way, he invited friends and long-time collaborators into the fold - Das Kinn, Rosaceae, Felix Kubin, Children Of Leir, and Konstantin Unwohl - each leaving their own fingerprints on the record’s world of shadows and static.


Hell Was Boring isn’t a mere collection of songs; it’s a narrative that drags you into its orbit and doesn’t quite let go. It’s music for the late hours when reality feels porous, and for those moments when you’re not sure if you’re waking up or still dreaming.
