Helga Myhr is a highly regarded Hardanger fiddle player and singer
She has participated in a number of ensembles and has played in a variety of
genres. In this work, originally composed for the 2020 Osa Festival, she combines
her roots in traditional music from Hallingdal with her distinctive form of musical
exploration. This release unites music and visual art on glorious vinyl, designed
by the award-winning artist Solveig Lønseth.Helga Myhr grew up surrounded by
folk music. Today, fiddle tunes are what lie closest to her heart:
"Fiddle playing encompasses infinite possibilities, and it is these possibilities that
inspire me when I create new music. People who know fiddle music well might be
able to hear which tunes or 'layers' I have used, but sometimes it is more subtle" -
Helga Myhr.
The music on this recording was composed specifically for the outstanding
musicians who appear on the recording. Their exceptional musical and creative
qualities have had a profound impact on how the music sounds: "Malin Alander
has a fabulous voice that she can shape and stretch with amazing suppleness;
Adrian Myhr produces a warm bass sound, with lovely and intricate melodic lines;
Michaela Antalová has a superb groove, and she creates elegant tones on the
willow flute; multi- instrumentalist Rasmus Kjorstad adds compelling sound
variations and tasteful contributions on the Norwegian zither, octave violin and
Jew's harp", Helga Myhr explains.
Poems by Margit Lappegard (1918– 2011), from Leveld, Ål in Hallingdal, are
included in three of the tunes. Lappegard was a beloved poet who attracted
considerable attention with her poetry collection "Noko vil alltid lysa", first
published in 1988.
Helga Myhr's solo album "Natten veller seg ut" was released in the autumn of
2019 on the Motvind Records label, and was nominated for a Norwegian Grammy
Award (Spellemannsprisen). Myhr plays in several groups and ensembles,
including the band Morgonrode, which won a Norwegian Grammy in 2019. She is
also a member of Kvedarkvintetten, Dei kjenslevare and a duo together with Tanja
Orning.

Opener "Sleep" basks in the tension surrounding the album's inception with blown-out kick drums, claustrophobic verses, and deteriorating vocal effects. Sharp arpeggiated synths and woozy strings neutralize the track's subterranean anxiety with texture and sensuality. Produced by Matia Simovich (Inhalt) and with engineering credits that include Monte Vallier (Weekend) and John McEntire (Tortoise), it's a potent introduction to the muscular sound design underpinning the album. Booming taiko drums sound the beginning of "Dissolve the Floor," the album's most club-ready track. A pulsing arpeggio gives the song its industrial heartbeat while disintegrating tape delay throws menace into the hazy atmosphere. The undulating techno beat breaks and repairs itself with seductive and satisfying timing. "In Soft Confusion" doesn't stray from the album's obsidian narrative as it envisions and ponders the aftermath of human extinction. Sonically speaking, though, it's the album's most uptempo offering with Tecon's supremely infectious chorus vocal hook and Beck's dizzying guitar riffs. The intricate electronic drum programming is elevated by Ott's live drumming, which lends a refreshingly human touch to the potentially icy, and often mechanical, sonic territory of synthdriven music. Adding density to the album's shadowy allure are the unusual sounds and vintage outboard effects that Tecon and Simovich impressively maneuver into the album's tonal palette. Great care has been taken to finesse familiar pop structures with an inventive edge. Würde ein anderer Musiker ein Album veröffentlichen, das so unmittelbar wie "Haavard" an ULVERs akustisches Meisterwerk "Kveldssanger" anknüpft und obendrein auch noch einen Track mit dem Titel "Kveldssang II" enthält, wäre es offensichtlich ein Plagiat. Doch Gitarrist und Sänger Håvard Jørgensen darf das natürlich, denn er ist der musikalische Kopf sowohl hinter "Kveldssanger" als auch "Haavard". Sein Debütalbum als Solokünstler lässt sich daher als legitimer Nachfolger von ULVERs Folk-lastigem Kultalbum verstehen. Jørgensen realisiert sein akustisches Projekt mithilfe zahlreicher exzellenter Gastmusiker - unter denen sich sogar ULVER-Frontmann Kristoffer "Garm" Rygg als Sänger befindet. Als HAAVARD bringt der Norweger die epischen und erhabenen Melodien, die tief in der Folklore seines Heimatlandes verwurzelt sind, erneut zum Strahlen. Durch die akustische und größtenteils instrumentale Umsetzung legt Jørgensen jene spektakulären Schichten einer cineastisch anmutenden Schönheit frei, die der norwegische Black Metal unter elektrischem Zorn verbirgt. In den 90er Jahren war Jørgensen ein fester Bestandteil von Oslos rasant wachsender schwarzen Metal-Szene. Nachdem er sich ECZEMA angeschlossen hatte und das Trio sich mit einem neuen Sänger unter dem Namen SATYRICON dem Black Metal zuwandte, wurde Jørgensen auch Teil von ULVER, der progressiven Speerspitze des Black Metal. Obwohl er sich eine Zeit lang vom harten Stil desillusioniert fühlte, trat Jørgensen dennoch mit verschiedenen Formationen auf. So steuerte er zum Beispiel Akustikgitarren zu MYRKURs "M" (2015) und deren Live-Album "Mausoleum" (2016) bei. Im Jahr 2019 gründete der Gitarrist zusammen mit Mitgliedern von DØDHEIMSGARD die neue Osloer Black-Metal-Band DOLD VORDE ENSD NAVN. Mit seiner neu entfachten Leidenschaft für die dunklere Seite der Musik beschloss Jørgensen, die losen Enden des wunderbaren musikalischen Fadens, den "Kveldssanger" hinterlassen hatte, mit seinem Soloprojekt HAAVARD wieder aufzunehmen. Jørgensen lässt seine langjährige Erfahrung hörbar einfließen und lädt uns erneut zu einer akustischen Reise ein, die direkt in das melodische Herz der dunklen nordischen Musik führt.

Mozarts besondere Zuneigung zur Klarinette fand in einem seiner letzten Werke, dem Konzert in A-Dur, einen besonderen Ausdruck. Sabine Meyer spielt es, wie vom Komponisten vorgesehen, auf der tiefer gestimmten Bassettklarinette. "Die Musik ist so einfach, so leicht und lässt emotional so tief blicken - wie eine Religion", hat sie
gesagt. Wie das Quintett KV 581 wurde auch das Klarinettenkonzert ursprünglich für Bassettklarinette geschrieben, ein inzwischen veraltetes Instrument, das Stadler speziell mit einem erweiterten unteren Register entworfen hatte. Obwohl die autographe Partitur verloren ist (die früheste erhaltene Ausgabe ist eine Bearbeitung
für Standardklarinette aus dem 19. Jahrhundert), haben viele moderne Klarinettisten anhand der erhaltenen Skizzen des Komponisten Vermutungen darüber angestellt, wie Mozart den Klarinettenpart ursprünglich geschrieben hat. Eine der ersten, die das Konzert auf
einer modernen Rekonstruktion einer Bassettklarinette erforschte, war Sabine Meyer. Inspiriert von der gemeinsamen Vision eines unverwechselbaren Sounds reisten Julius, Mario und Marko 2016 nach Norwegen. Mit dem Auto machten sie sich auf den Weg zwischen scharfen Klippen und wilden Fjorden, mitten durch die raue Natur. Heaven and earth are in motion with the debut album from composer and saxophonistGisle Røen Johansen (b. 1968) an active voice on the Norwegian jazz scene since the mid-nineties. Known for his expressive tone in groups like Element and Jazzmob, Kveldsragg is the first release under his own name.

The album features top players from the nordic jazz currents including members fromBushman’s Revenge and Element; Even Hermansen on guitars, Rune Nergaard on Electric Bass and Ingebrigt Håker Flaten on Acoustic Bass and ECM signed Gard Nilssen on drums. With special guests Bob Hoffnar on pedal steel, wordless vocals byMona Julsrud and vocals, lyrics by Harald Tusberg Jr.

The melodic tour-de-force of Kveldsragg that occupies the whole first side showcases Johansen’s post-bop background, in a multi-layered harmonical approach. While the B-side Morrasol is a new dawn, the album finishes with the haunting and beautiful voice of Harald Tusberg Jr. who’s lyrical tribute to the deciesed fellow musician Jon Klettewill leave you mesmerized.

Studio album number 10 is now ready, and the anniversary is marked by what the band itself refers to as 'The Dogs 2.0'

They have recruited the star producer Chips K, who, in addition to producing
bands such as The Hellacopters, Sahara Hotnights and Millencolin, has played in
both Sator and Thåström. Locked up in the venerable Athletic Sound for a few
weeks last summer, they gave Chips free rein to manage the song material they
had given him 18 months prior. During the past years, via numerous releases and
massive touring, The Dogs have established themselves as one of Norway's
hardest working and most critically acclaimed bands. They have played sold-out
gigs all over Norway, supporting the likes of Bruce Springsteen as well as
Kvelertak on their European tour. The Dogs serve up intense, flat-out rock 'n' roll,
with A- list celebrity and TV and radio personality Kristopher Schau's ferocious
voice leading it all. The Dogs will embark on a massive release tour in Norway,
Sweden, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and The Czech Republic
in March and April 2022.

Merit Hemmingson is an 81-year-old matriarch, composer, organist and singer from Jämtland

She has devoted her life to exploring and constructing her own musical landscape, which bends and challenges genres in ways that have often created swells. Since the 1960s, her personal expression has created a unique space in Swedish music history where jazz, groove rock and folk music meet. The Berliners present an unusual live album that is a testimony of strange times: their Phanerozoic concept album performed live in its entirety at a time when no shows were happening anywhere in the world. 3 LPs / 2 CDs plus DVD and access to HD video download and streaming. Phanerozoic I was streamed live from Pier 2, a big hall in the port of Bremen, on March 25, 2021. Phanerozoic II, recorded at "Die Mühle" studio, aired on April 16, 2021 as part of the digital edition of Roadburn Festival, this year abtly named Roadburn Redux. Both shows couldn't have been more different: where the first part boasts with a pompous, mesmerizing lighting production on a big stage, the 2nd part is quite the opposite: intimate, almost cosy, focused on musicianship rather than performance. A stripped down setup in a dark barn, with moody, minimal but not any less efficient lighting. "We wanted to give people 2 totally different experiences", says band leader Robin Staps. "In Bremen, we had the chance to record a proper Ocean live show, the way people know us. We played facing towards the front of the stage, to an invisible crowd, essentially to a huge empty room_ but we knew people were watching, even if we didn't see them. There was the same rush of adrenaline right before going on stage as you get before going on at any big open air festival_ maybe with a little extra anxiety added, because knowing that so many people are watching you without being able to see them yourself was super weird." This release is yet another master class of record packaging from Norwegian artist and long term friend and collaborator, Martin Kvamme: the trifold is made from thick, rough and incredibly fibrous cardboard, adorned with a filigrane copper foil embossing of a bitmapped live fotography from the Bremen event. It contains 3 vinyl records in printed inner sleeves or 2 CDs, plus a DVD and a concert ticket with a streaming and HD video download link to both concerts.

The Time Capsule project, also known as 808 Box, is a project created by Fundamental Records. The six boxes released in recent years include 56 records with over 300 tracks from artists from every corner of the world. Some warehouse copies have surfaced of the 5th 808 Box, and these will be available individually. Multiinstrumentalist, singer and composer/songwriter Marianne Sveen
twists the term next of kin and takes you into her thoughts on the subject,
creating an atmospheric and almost cinematic universe, where you vividly
and the relations they are regarding.
The songs are based on reflections while working as a nurse in mental health
care and how it can be perceived so differently. The album is conceptual and
the soundscape mirrors the dynamic in the songs, gently touching your cheek
in one second, and striking you hard in the stomach next.
The cinematic and detailed sound emphasizes the song mood and amplifies
these very strong and emotional stories. Award winning Ola Kvernberg and
Daniel Herskedal are some of the brilliant musicians contributing to this masterpiece.

Bjarki’s bbbbbb records welcomes its first-ever non-electronic project as Icelandic rock band Skrattar joins the label to unveil their thirteen-track album, ‘Hellraiser IV’.

Four-piece outfit Skrattar can be described as cigarette rock with an electronic vibe that makes your upper lip sweat. Having already developed a loyal fanbase in Iceland as a powerful live act with an energetic and provocative stage presence, the band now look further afield to global horizons as they reveal their latest album, ‘Hellraiser IV’.

With the release of ‘Hellraiser IV’, bbbbbb broadens its catalogue beyond dance and electronic music. While the label’s primary focus will remain electronic, several other genres will also feature - the connecting factor being that the music is Icelandic, experimental and fresh... the best that grassroots has to offer.

‘Hellraiser IV’ contains thirteen tracks written over three years, with the oldest songs composed the year the band was founded, 2016. In 2019, when a good foundation for an LP had been laid as the band gained followers and honed its sound, they locked themselves in the studio until they completed the album. With many of the tracks composed in the dead of night, containing both lyrics written over a long period as well as improvisation, the final product is a record made by them from A to Z, in line with the band’s endearing DIY ethos.

‘Skrattar’ is Icelandic for a specific type of demon that you can’t control, but in Swedish, it means ‘to laugh’ - with laughter involved across many of the tracks on ‘Hellraiser IV’ as if to mock the dualism of seriousness. Their subject matter is chaos and anarchism - but their humour and satire are never far away. The music is an ode to the eternal void, while at the same time laughing in its face.

In addition, a remix album will be released digitally alongside Hellraiser IV, reimagined and reworked by a host of fellow musicians, producers, and artists. Among them, label regular Kuldaboli, bbbbbb boss Bjarki, DJ Flugvél og Geimskip, russian.girls, KGB and Anton Newcombe - the founder of The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Neutral’s seminal album, Grå Våg Gamlestaden, is widely
considered ground zero for the explosion of creativity that has
transpired in the Swedish Underground ever since. It is the noisy
experimental rock album that opened the door and welcomed in
so many artists working behind the scenes. Gothenburgers Dan
Johansson (Sewer Election) and Sofie Herner had previously
made music together in the band Källarbarnen when they started
discussing a new methodology and a fresh sound for recordings
in 2013 under a new name as a duo.
After witnessing Herner and Johansson’s live performance in
an artist’s studio in the spring 2014, Gustaf Dicksson, who was
running the Omlott record label at the time as well as performing
under his own moniker, Blod, offered to release an album by
Neutral on the spot.
Herner recorded most of the instruments and voice, Johansson
worked on manipulating the recordings, experimenting with
reel-to-reel techniques. The title of the album translates as “Grey
Wave Gamlestaden” and was chosen as an inside joke about the
neighbourhood Gamlestaden where Johansson and Herner lived.
A major theme on the recording is a certain kind of bleakness
but with a wry smile closely identified with the spirit of the
neighborhood.
In the fall of 2014 Grå Våg Gamlestaden was released,
limited to 200 copies, and sold out quickly without many copies
making it outside of Sweden. Around the same time, Johansson
and Herner joined forces with other underground artists in their
widening circle to form a sort of Gothenburg supergroup making
music together as Enhet för Fri Musik.
Grapefruit’s reissue of Grå Våg Gamlestaden is the first time
Neutral’s masterpiece has seen the light of day since it sold out
quickly in 2014. This vinyl-only gatefold reissue is limited to
300 copies.

For 'Music For Dreams’ collector’s series, we aim to bring you something a little different, something a little out there. After eclectic contributions from Jan Schulte, Moonboots and most recently Basso, we’ve lent the slot to Belgian sonic globetrotter DJ soFa. As always, he’s been granted supreme curatorial sovereignty, and trust us, he held us to our word on that one. For elsewhere Jr I, soFa takes us on a trip to the alluring and magical reality of childhood - and a trip, it is.

This double LP features both new and old compositions from a wide range of countries, all centered around the youngest citizens of planet earth. The compilation has been 2.5 years in the making, with soFa collecting obscure pieces from all over the world and inspiring young collaborators to produce new tracks mostly by means of analogue synthesizers and vintage drum machines. The result is a thematically and sonically homogenous collage of cosmic children’s music.

'soFa' starts us off with Milo Kolarov’s exercise in sonic imagery ‘Analogue Beam’, a story about animal characters, presented to us as distinct motifs of bleeps and blitzes. Next up is the surreal jigsaw puzzle dub ‘Totti und Pippo’ by Jah Limonardi and 'Die Kleine Gräfin Dubski'.

Here, we come bouncing on giant, iridescent mushrooms, lulled deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole by incantations of a child’s voice. Throughout, the record is full of these synaesthetic properties, immersing the listener in creative ways, nudging you down hidden experiential pathways.
All of the tracks, more precisely ... they were pleasantly engaging, often blooming with charming grooves and provided with a whimsical melody.

Music For Nations release - the Norwegian music constellation Wardruna are renowned for their innovative and genrecreating renditions of older Nordic traditions. Composer Einar Selvik initiated the group in the early 2000s. Since the debut album in 2009, Wardruna have had vast worldwide success, transcending music genres, cultures and languages. The group has previously charted in both Germany and the UK and topped the North American Billboard World music chart for several consecutive weeks. The group's massive musical contributions to History Channel's TV series 'Vikings' has exposed their music to a broad audience worldwide.

“If you have a vacancy for Favourite New Band, Pom Poko would like to apply for the role,” tweeted Tim Burgess in April, as Norway’s finest punkpop anti-conformists revisited their joyous debut album, ‘Birthday’, for one of Tim’s mood-lifting Twitter listening parties. Between the quartet’s sweet melodies, galvanic punky ructions and wild-at-art-rock eruptions, ‘Cheater’ is the sound of a band celebrating the binding extremes that make them so uniquely qualified to thrill: and, like Tim’s listening party, to fulfil any need you might have for a pick-you-up.

As singer Ragnhild Fangel explains of the leap from ‘Birthday’ to ‘Cheater’, “I think it’s very accurate to say that we wanted to embrace our extremes a bit more. In the production process I think we aimed more for some sort of contrast between the meticulously written and arranged songs and a more chaotic execution and recording, but also let ourselves explore the less frantic parts of the Pom Poko universe. I think both in the more extreme and painful way, and in the sweet and lovely way, this album is kind of amplified.”

The sound of four distinct personalities driving in divergent directions towards one destination, the result is an evolved snapshot of the bracingly contrary chemistry forged when Fangel, Tonne, Jonas Krøvel (bass) and Ola Djupvik (drums) united to play punk during a jazz gig at a literature festival in Trondheim (the band-members studied jazz there).

Along the way, the band drew praise from NME, Interview Magazine, DIY, PopMatters, The Line Of Best Fit, The Independent and BBC Radio 6, where Miranda Sawyer was moved to note that “‘Birthday’s ‘Crazy Energy Night’ seems to contain about 20 songs in one.” Meanwhile, a huge touring schedule included countless sold-out headline shows and a rapturously received UK jaunt with Ezra Furman.

‘Cheater’ does its predecessor proud on every front. Bursting with colour and wonky life from its cover art (by close collaborator Erlend Peder Kvam) outwards, it differs from ‘Birthday’ primarily in that its songs did not have a chance to be road-tested before going into the studio. But you wouldn’t know it. As Ragnhild explains, “That meant we had to practice the songs in a more serious way, but it also meant the songs had more potential to change when we recorded them since we didn’t have such a clear image of what each song should/could be as the last time.”

Jaga Jazzist kehren am 24. April 2020 mit ihrem neuen Album „Pyramid“ zurück, auf dem das legendäre norwegische achtköpfige Kollektiv tief in seine Post-Rock-, Jazz- und Psychedelic-Einflüsse eintaucht. Es ist ihr erstes Album seit „Starfire“ aus dem Jahr 2015, ihr neuntes Album in einer mittlerweile vier Jahrzehnte währenden Karriere, aber es markiert das Debüt der Gruppe auf Brainfeeder, dem in L.A. beheimateten Label von Flying Lotus. Auf „Pyramid“ haben Jaga Jazzist einen kosmischen Sound entwickelt, der zu ihrem neuen Label passt, während es ihre Vorgänger, wie die 80er-Jahre Jazzband Out To Lunch und dem norwegischen Synthesizer-Guru Ståle Storløkken bis hin zu Zeitgenossen wie Tame Impala, Todd Terje und Jon Hopkins zitiert. Jeder der vier langen Beiträge des Albums entwickelt sich über sorgfältig ausgearbeitete Partituren, in denen sich die technisch-farbigen Fäden der Stücke verträumt entfalten.

Die Band, die von Lars Horntveth und seinen Kompositionen angeführt wird, nahm einen sehr direkten Weg zur Entstehung von „Pyramid“. Während sie bei „Starfire“ die Idee einer traditionellen Studioaufnahme auf die Spitze trieben, bei der verschiedene Mitglieder in der Aufnahmekabine ein- und ausgingen, um über zwei Jahre hinweg zu schreiben, aufzunehmen und zu experimentieren, war der Prozess hinter „Pyramid“ fast das genaue Gegenteil: es dauerte nur zwei Wochen, um die Aufnahmen fertigzustellen. Beide Platten wurden zwar vom selben neugierigen, experimentellen Geist angetrieben, aber die Prozesse waren sehr unterschiedlich. Sie zogen sich in ein abgelegenes Waldstudio im benachbarten Schweden zurück und bunkerten sich dort täglich 12 Stunden lang ein.

DJ Spinna has been a staple for the underground scene; handling highly praised remixes for Mary J. Blige, Michael Jackson, De La Soul, and Stevie Wonder. He collaborated with an array of lyrical giants such as Eminem, Talib Kweli, Pharaohe Monch, Mos Def, and many more throughout his career. This time the Brooklyn producer lends his signature spaced-out, genre crossing boom bap feel to the A-side of this 45, instantly taking the listener back to the great late 90's indie era. On the B-side, the Jazz Spastiks place their typical jazzy flavored sound behind this highly lyrical Slum Village track. The UK based production duo have released quality boom bap projects on a string throughout the last few years as well as re-introducing indie icon Godfather Don to the hip-hop scene in 2018 with a smashing album and two brand new singles. Both remixes are a sure treat for any 90's hip-hop follower.

The second instalment of minimood's multidisciplinary fusion series features Die Wilde Jagd with an extensive rework of the neo-romantic ’Morgenrot’ as well as a vast array of diverse remixes by Ancient Methods, CV313, Luigi Tozzi, Roman Flügel, Rude 66, Steve Bug, The KVB, Vactrol Park, and Variant. This gatefold 3x12" vinyl only release is visually enhanced with intricate hand-drawn artwork including inlay by Dusseldorf based artist Susanne Giring. Written and recorded by Sebastian Lee Philipp with his Uhrwald Orange studio collaborator Ralf Beck, ’Morgenrot’ originally appeared on Die Wilde Jagd's debut album in 2015.

For this release, Philipp and Beck re-visited the song: the ensuing ‘Fangschuss Version' enjoys an augmented arrangement, additional instrumentation and a haunting guest vocal by New- Zealand based singer Nina Siegler. In Philipp’s words, the 'Fangschuss Version' constitutes “a venture to capture the spirit that has been guiding this fusion release - a desire to explore the concepts of friendship, time, distance and memory. An attempt to unveil fragments of the unseen and to reveal the surge of a distant remembrance in an embracive listening experience." 'Morgenrot' subsequently gets a highly varied remix treatment by a range of carefully selected artists.

While Vactrol Park navigate the original audio material into beautiful ambient territory, Ancient Methods showcase an epic masterpiece of enchanting medieval-vibed techno. The KVB turn the track into a dreamy cold-wave trip and Rude 66 dives into a dark, primetime, anthemic dimension. For Roman Flügel, it’s a slow, organic, starry-eyed approach and Luigi Tozzi transforms 'Morgenrot' into hypnotic & loopy, minimal, deep techno. The rework by Steve Bug plays with the original's melody and a danceable kosmische-infused house cut emerges.

The final two remixes are both crafted by legendary Echospace Detroit mastermind Stephen Hitchell: absorbing deep trips into mesmerizing dubtechno by CV313 and into foggy lo-fi ambient by Variant.

Franck Collin, a.k.a. Fleck E.S.C, brings some excellent winter-time electro to the London-based label untitled (recs) for their third u(r)blue record. The French-born, Tokyo-based producer has received praise from the likes of Jensen Interceptor, Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, and Helena Hauff. This record takes cues from several sci-fi soundtracks, and taps into Fleck's wider thoughts on cinema. After having studied film and worked in movie production for several years, he believes that movies need to be a kind of fairy tale usually a poisonous one. Likewise, u(r)blue003 delivers a capacious blend of texturesiat times delicate and expansive (e.g. 'Shelters', 'Skins & Scales'), at others assertive and grinding (e.g. 'KVFM, 'Roundup'). Together, this strikes a balance between deep club cuts and listening session tracks. Thanks to the mastering of Aphex Twin-collaborator Beau Thomas, these textures really stand out. Listen loud!

Preceding releases for Clan Destine Records, iDEAL Recordings and DKA Records have seen the project engaged in a rough trade of transgressive noise, dysfunctional metal dance and DIY punk angst, yet each of these milestones has represented a different proposition. 2016’s ‘A Product of 30 Years of Violence’ saw the project moving into vast glacial spaces after propulsive post-punk discord of 2015’s ‘Das Nichts’. 2017 presented a further progression into Autumns’ journey from his post-punk beginnings to producing some of the tautest and no bullshite electronic music around with the release of his debut album ‘Suffocating Brothers’ on Clan Destine Records. Gaining radio play from selectors like Trevor Jackson, Regis, Debonair and Giant Swan.

Alongside progressive appearances on cult labels the project has developed a notorious high-intensity live show, having played and toured with artists such as Silent Servant, Veronica Vasicka and Wire, performing to audiences from Los Angeles to Beirut, and Moscow to Berlin. Autumns’ has also ventured outside the typical music world by taking up projects such as performing alongside Samuel Kerridge at the 2016 edition of Paris Fashion Week for Downwards, creating a sound installation at Void Gallery, and improvising a desolate live score to David Lynch’s ‘Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me’. Earning Autumns a fierce reputation not only as a live act, but as a multi-disciplinary artist.

Following contributions to labels such as Amok Tapes, Touch Sensitive, Veyl (Maenad Veyl) and Earwiggle (Sunil Sharpe), as well as remixes for Strange Therapy, Infidel Bodies, and Clan Destine Records. 2019 see’s Autumns’ experimentation in the studio go much deeper, with the release of his sophomore album ‘Shortly After Nothing’ on Oliver Ho’s (aka Broken English Club) innovative ‘Death & Leisure’ label, alongside a heavy touring schedule, a collaboration with post-punk legend Eric Random, the launch of his radio show ‘Dyslexia Tracks’ on Dublin Digital Radio and more upcoming releases to surface throughout the year.

The voltmeter ep features 3 machine/synth driven tracks which each take you on a different journey from an underground rave bunker to the reaches of outer space. Anders Trentemøller's career is a travel-heavy one, with his touring schedule taking him pretty much all over the world. But it's his home port that's inspired his latest project, the sprawling, stunning compilation mix 'Harbour Boat Trips Vol. 02: Copenhagen'. Clocking in at just over an hour long, the compilation sees Trentemøller curate and craft sixteen songs into a heavy, hazy mix that ranges from shoegaze to electronica, featuring both familiar and celebrated artists like A Place to Bury Strangers (with a new Trentemøller remix) and Slowdive to more obscure finds, as well as Trentemøller's own tracks and remixes, most notably a brand new Trentemøller cover of Neil Young's classic 'Transformer Man'. The mix sees him pick up a thread he left off earlier in his career. In 2009 he put together 'Harbour Boat Trips - 01: Copenhagen', a compilation mix comprised of his favourite music, both Danish and international, from across four decades, loosely inspired by the motion and movement of Copenhagen's busy harbour. Closing in on a decade later, we're getting the second edition, with 'Harbour Boat Trips - 02' arriving this November.

Scandinavian duo KSMISK return to Norwegian techno imprint PLOINK to drop their debut album this
February. Real names Truls Kvam and Robin Crafoord, KSMISK made a name for themselves as Trulz & Robin with releases on Planet Noise and Cymasonic, not to mention Prins Thomas' Full Pupp and Rett I Fletta. Since launching their KSMISK project in 2015 the pair have returned to some of these labels whilst also dropping two releases on renowned Bergen-based techno label PLOINK, of which 2017's 'Magma EP' is the precursor to their inaugural album 'Mikrometeorittene'.
Opening the package is the ominous and beatless 'Lonsdaleite', setting the tone for an otherworldly aesthetic throughout. Off-kilter kicks then rain down in 'Silicate' as sinister drones ebb in and out of the mix before meandering back into a ghostly ambient cut named 'Vesta'. Crunchy percussion and tantalising atmospherics then make up 'Blitz', moving into the twisted and syncopated 'Marinate' until the raw sounding 'Spherules' exhibits a compelling groove combined with echoing effects. The dusky 'Wustite' sees the album retreat from 4/4 once again, returning for the effervescent 'Westergas' before concluding on a melancholic outro entitled 'Chondrites'. For this release 2x12' LP PLOINK will release 100 numbered and limited grey vinyl as well as the usual black vinyl.

Sliding Windows is a creation by Karl Bult diving into the world of ambient and deeper techno embraced with a collaboration between Jana Sleep, Fjader & Korridor. Together we create this space of sounds that will open the window to the second release on Nordanvind.

Omar Di Bongo is an audio-visual project that melts video feedback from Hugo Saugier with two figures of french underground techno scene, Somaticae (In Paradisum, Tanzprocesz...) known for his dark cutting edge techno, and C_C (Small But Hard, Kvitnu...) master of no input mixer feedbacks, and savage analog industrial beats. Their music merges industrial music with tribal polyrythms, and makes us dive into a certain kind of psychedelia between hallucination and dementia. Reduced to the essence, their productions bring back techno to its core, the trance dimension, often fogotten in many modern musics of this genre.
