Benefits kehren mit ihrem mit Spannung erwarteten zweiten Album "Constant Noise" zurück. "Constant Noise" erscheint am 21. März über Invada Records und folgt auf das Debütalbum "NAILS". Nach einer Reihe verschiedener Besetzungen haben sich Benefits nun als Zwei-Mann-Band etabliert, bestehend aus Frontmann Kingsley Hall und dem Elektronik-Virtuosen Robbie Major. "Wir sind immer noch wütend", sagt Hall, "nur auf eine andere Art als früher. Wenn die vorherige Platte schwarz-weiß war, wollten wir, dass diese Platte in Technicolor erstrahl". The internationally renowned double bassist and composer Dieter Ilg
releases his new work, 'Motherland'
As the album cover - featuring Ilg wearing a traditional Black Forest Bollenhut -
suggests, this project reflects his deep connection to his homeland and to Mother
Earth. Ilg is supported by his trio, as well as the master trumpeter Till Bronner, whose
trumpet and flugelhorn lend the compositions a unique atmosphere.
Having collaborated with numerous musicians such as Randy Brecker, Mike Stern,
Vince Mendoza, and many others, Dieter Ilg has released 25 albums as a leader or coleader, along with a series of recordings as a sideman. On 'Motherland', he reunites
with his long- standing trio, featuring German pianist Rainer Bohm and French
drummer Patrice Heral. This time, alongside their original works, they reinterpret two
classical pieces: Ilg's adaptation of Handel's "Minuet" from Water Music and his
rendition of "Glorious" from Alexander's Feast. For 16 years, Ilg, Bohm, and Heral have
journeyed together musically. The secret to their chemistry, according to Ilg, lies in
their openness to letting things unfold in the moment.
'Motherland' is both an homage to Ilg's roots and a reflection of the music and
experiences that have shaped the bassist, who hails from Offenburg in Germany's
Black Forest region. A standout track is "Schwarzwaldfahrt", in which Ilg transforms
the lighthearted melody of German pianist Horst Jankowski into a nostalgic
interpretation with an authentic second- line groove. Till Bronner delivers a stunning
trumpet solo on this piece, with Ilg commenting, "When Till plays, I know exactly
where we're headed. I can hear the path he's focusing on."
The album unfolds with remarkable diversity, ranging from harmonious, soothing

"Ital Breakfast" (1996) ist ein weiterer Dub Syndicate-Klassiker, bei dem Style Scott noch mehr jamaikanische Topmusiker zusammenbrachte, darunter Mitglieder von Roots Radics, Soul Syndicate, Joe Gibbs' Professionals und Bunny Lee's Aggrovators. Dieses unglaubliche Erbe wird durch Adrian Sherwoods Arbeit am Mischpult ergänzt, bei der er die Londoner Musiker Skip McDonald und Akabu overdubbte und seine Klangmagie auf das Rohmaterial wirken ließ – eine echte transatlantische Dub-Zusammenarbeit. Stainless starteten offiziell im Jahre 2022 in Portland, Oregon. Aktuelle und frühere Musiker waren vorher bei lokalen Underground-Bands wie Black Breath, Long Knife, Lebenden Toten, Halt, Bellicose Minds, Nightfell, Malikili und Ripper aktiv. Das erste Lebenszeichen der Band war die in Eigenregie gepresste 7" Single "Snakebite"/"Too Hot To Steal". Nun erscheint als Nachfolger das Mini-Album "Nocturnal Racer" mit dem Titelstück sowie "Shot For Shot", "Believer" und "The Evil Lies". Die vier Songs wurden 2023/24 in den Red Lantern Studios (Portland) von Larissa Cavacece (Gesang), Mira Sonnleitner (Bass), Joe Sugar (Drums) und Jamie Byrum (Gitarre, Gesang) eingespielt. Mittlerweile ist Joe Sugar durch Terrica Catwood von der Band Time Rift ersetzt worden. "Ich würde uns als Hardrock oder Heavy Rock bezeichnen", weiß Gitarrist und Sänger Jamie Byrum. "Es gibt zwar viele Elemente des Heavy Metal in unserer Musik, aber es wäre wohl missverständlich, uns als reinrassige Hevy-Metal-Band zu bezeichnen. Die erste Single war im Gegensatz zu "Nocturnal Racer" noch viel mehr im Blues verwurzelt." Frontlady Larissa Cavacece, die von Kanada nach Portland gezogen ist, prägt mit ihrer messerscharfen Stimme irgendwo zwischen Leather Leone und Wendy O. Williams den Sound von Stainless nicht unwesentlich. Jamie Byrum: "Ihre Einflüsse gehen weiter als Chastain und Plasmatics. Allerdings weiß ich, dass sie es ehrt, in einem Atemzug mit den beiden genannt zu werden. Larissa besitzt einen Goth-Background, schwört aber auch auf Crust-Bands wie Amebix und Sacrilege. Des weiteren ist sie ein großer Bowie-Fan und liebt den Rock der Siebziger. Passenderweise hat ihre Karriere als Sängerin in einer Plasmatics-Coverband begonnen." Laut dem Gitarristen/Sänger sind "Sex, Schlangen, Motorräder, schnelle Autos, Rock 'n' Roll, Standhaftigkeit, das Böse und Heavy Metal geeignete Themen für Stainless." Davon wird es in absehbarer Zukunft wohl noch mehr zu hören geben, denn Stainless arbeiten derzeit am Material für ihr erstes vollständiges Album.

Their new album Muck! is a massive step forward both songwriting and production-wise, offering up a blend of uptempo garage rock and gentle americana. Featuring members of PNKSLM's own The Castillians and Terror Watts as well as Low Cut Connie, PWEI and Bentley Rhythm Ace.

Baby Rose makes healing music for the aimless and heartbroken. The Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter and producer's uniquely rich voice naturally lends itself to her powerful, smoke-filled ballads lamenting lost loves and broken futures. "I make music to help myself get through things," she says. The piercing honesty and vulnerability she brings to her lyrics in turn helps others process their feelings and find a place of healing. For Rose, it's a journey that's still ongoing. "If I'm going to leave anything behind, it's going to be getting people back to themselves," she says. "As I get back to myself, it's a constant reset: Remember who you are, remember who you want to be." You can hear the impact of this approach in Baby Rose's upcoming second album, Through and Through. Take the hypnotic "Fight Club." Over the track's simmering baseline and crashing cymbals, she declares, "I don't need no one else to show me the way." She describes the song as a "breaking of the shell. It encourages me to just go for it and not care about what anyone else thinks." Therein lies Baby Rose's strength: a determination to live, love, and create on her own terms. "I'm not just a singer with a unique voice," she says. "I'm somebody that has something to say." In the years since releasing her last album, To Myself, Rose has been painstakingly piecing together its sequel. Started almost immediately after its release, her new body of work finds her in a state of musical and personal transition. It's a subtle merging of new sounds_stirring rock, upbeat r&b, psychedelic funk, pop, and soulful ballads_, all mastered through analog tape to make the music feel warmer and all-encompassing. It's also a journey inward as she battles past fear and self-doubt to finally discover_and love_who she is, where she is. Finishing an album with such peace and firm resolution is a first for Rose, but she makes it clear: She's nowhere near done writing her story. "I think as long as I'm being raw and trying to push past my comfort zone, it will feel rewarding," she says. "I don't want to be the type that doesn't take risks because I'm afraid. I have to trust that as long as the music is honest and innovative, it'll be timeless."

For schuttle’s next unearthly contribution, we invite you to slip into the reassuring comforts of the simulated realm. Herein lies an open invitation to all of those tentative travellers willing to join us as we revel in four slices of post-biological optimism.

The world building begins with “Splan”. schuttle’s navigation vessel hovers steadily above a fractal landscape until a divine arp propels us skywards. We burst through the latent cloudsphere to marvel at the boundless synergy of the interlocking polygons. The sunburst gradient barely has time to load before an oscillating wriggle plunges us into a strangely familiar stomping ground. Hedonistic NPCs begin spawning at random, splurging joyful machine funk at each other before walking gleefully into walls. Finally, with a little help from a well known toad, schuttle unleashes the full might of his Mana on the nascent gathering.

We dock next in ‘Melonweed Musick’. Our vessel gently stirring the reeds as we descend into the marshland. The potent aroma of the swamp fills our nostrils, various apparitions seem to wriggle into view. What have we been inhaling? No time to consider, the loose murk of the breakbeat is starting to take effect and it’s all we can do to keep one foot squelching after the other. As we submit wholeheartedly to the sheer depth and clarity of the bassline, a kindly angel sweeps above the sphagnum, spraying a succession of cleansing chords over our slimy bodies. Refreshed with some useful navigation advice we continue.

In ‘Kitchen Sync’ our craft’s speedometer is tickled up to a cruising 120bpm. The world outside our window begins to swim with colour, prickly forms materialise then dissipate around us. The familiar shape of our old friend, the high priest 303 appears before us, steadying the ship. Its resonant flame warming our hearth, and our hearts too. Then begins a beautiful communion of the domestic and the otherworldly, through the interplay of acid under glimmering keys. Provoking within us an uncontrollable desire to open our curtains, to cast off our slippers and embrace the infinite morrow.

Our voyage concludes with ‘Inspo 2000’. Scintillating landing lights guide us toward our destination, our descent beckoned by woody and playful percussion. We tumble through the troposphere, our landing cushioned by the buoyancy of the gated chords, the kicks juicing what's left of our dwindling fuel supply. A luxurious breakdown brings the ground into focus. Perhaps this is home? The simulation is now so accurate that it seems pointless to question it, it is a world we have always known.

2026 Repress

MOLA's music is the unadorned antithesis to a rosy world. She celebrates herself to death, pulls you into her inner chaos and does without the usual romanticising transfiguration of the merciless disorientation that catches up with you on the way home after the last cigarette.

MOLA knows better than anyone that she is a border commuter - and she has never made a secret of it. Perhaps it was fate that the course of events abandoned her shortly after her birth in Erba, Italy, in Germany's most austere metropolis. In Munich, where flying free and falling free are a little more complicated than in the cesspit of Berlin, where one would naturally place Isabella Streifeneder and her music if one didn't know better.

Temporarily reduced to intimacy, then escalating into iconic 80s "Purpel Rain" pathos, MOLA illustrates the emotional chaos that the inner dialogue of left and right brain triggers in her. Unconventional pop music that bundles the nonchalance of great soul anthems, the grace of the Italo-disco of the eighties and the ingenuousness of lascivious hip-hop bangers instead of trying to sound modern by force.

MOLA celebrates defeat, exposes life lies, criticises adulthood, documents radical mood swings. She balances along the abyss in her ball gown, jokes about things you don't joke about, praises and curses intoxication and love - "Vino Bianco no longer tastes like dolce vita, it only tastes like losing".

You can now see MOLA supporting Fatoni, Roy Bianco & the Abbrunzati Boys, Mayberg and Kaffkiez in a flurry of strobe lights after sold-out "nothing breaks me" shows in Munich, Cologne, Berlin & Hamburg. In addition to a festival season that couldn't have been more beautiful, they finally have a big tour of their own coming up for their next album, which will see the light of day in September.

After more than 40 festivals "Snow in Summer" on well-known stages like Lollapalooza Berlin, Rocken am Brocken, Puls Open Air, but also as support for Udo Lindenberg at the Hermann-Hesse-Festival, "Life is Beautiful", the darned second record, sounds almost cynical, ironic or simply naive? In the end, it doesn't matter, because when you are overcome by this spontaneous feeling that is far removed from any rationality, you don't ask any questions. It tastes like the melancholy of a summer in its last breaths, like the last drink of an uncompromisingly insane night.

Since the early days of electronic music, white label records have been inextricably linked to DJ culture and the ways in which underground music has been disseminated. unknown - untitled draws on the white label concept withholding details about the producers behind the tracks and leaving listeners to draw their own conclusions about what they’re hearing.

The new concept label will focus primarily on vinyl releases, with previews of the tracks available online, but information about the artists only to be found within the record sleeve itself. Several weeks after the vinyl is out, there will be a digital release that reveals who was behind the tracks. The roster will range from new and emerging producers to more established artists looking to explore new sounds.

The label's first release, presents three gorgeous slabs of UK schooled techno steeped in psychedelic textures and sub-low pressure. With online personas often eclipsing the focus on music itself, here lies a return to form.

Enxin/Onyx, the duo of Nicky Mao/Hiro Kone and Tot Onyx (formerly group A), joins Other People with their debut album "In Rupture," capturing the same mesmerizing energy for which their live sets have become known.

“In Rupture” is not painless but in rupture lies possibility. The elasticity of this time pitching us across unknown terrain, revealing new potentialities, eclipsing static being. Whether in breach, collision,shimmer or severance, Enxin/Onyx explores these as occasions for transformation. Peeling back the layers through discord and harmony, exciting the inversion of expectation, towing the listener to depths and back up again to illuminate the senses. At times metallic and feral, at others murky and sharp, each song serves as an offering for all that is in rupture; body, spirit, land, ecosystem.
The opening track “A Void” calls to mind some mutation in its mechanical ecstasy, but for what purpose remains unknown. Even in the near moments of stillness, “Needle Pierces the Threshold” breathes a forceful disquietude. Tommi’s vocals pulling the listener down into some subterranean
madness, to unravel upwards from all sides, flooding the once parched landscape. In “Embers Kissthe Eye”, all of time emerges in one moment, compelling the subject’s gaze towards a new horizon.
The album follows its subjects through exile, exhumation and discovery. Through this process plates shift, fissures are revealed and what once appeared to be indomitable absolutes crack, pointing towards their inevitable collapse. To be in rupture is regeneration, to be in rupture is to return.

GRÀB bieten auf ihrem zweiten Album "Kremess" sowohl Kontinuität als auch Wandel. Das von Sänger Grànt gegründete bayerische Black Metal Projekt kreist lyrisch weiterhin um Geschichten und Traditionen, die im Dialekt des deutschen Alpenlandes erzählt werden. "Kremess" bedeutet auf Hochdeutsch "Leichenschmaus" - und der Tod spielt auf diesem Album erneut eine große Rolle. Musikalisch erscheinen neben dem traditionellen Hackbrett weitere akustische Instrumente. Dazu gesellen sich vor allem Einflüsse aus dem frühen nordischen Black Metal, bei dem Namen wie GEHENNA, ULVER und DARKTHRONE fallen müssen - aber auch Inspirationen von deutschen Pionieren des Genres wie NAGELFAR und LUNAR AURORA. Mit dem englischen Gitarristen Gnàst, der den bisherigen Songwriter Grain mittlerweile abgelöst hat, kommen frische Ideen und Klänge zur bajuwarisch-schwarzen Klangwelt hinzu. Eine Reihe von Gastmusikern, unter anderem Mitglieder von EMPYRIUM, TRIPTYKON und DARK FORTRESS, bereichern ebenfalls das musikalische Spektrum. GRÀB, was im bairischen Dialekt "alt und grau" und keineswegs "Grab" bedeutet, wurden vom ehemaligen DARK FORTRESS-Frontmann Grànt erdacht, der dem Black Metal eine unverkennbar bayerische Note verleihen wollte. Die anfängliche Zusammenarbeit zwischen Grànt und dem Gitarristen Grain führte im Jahr 2021 zur Veröffentlichung des Debütalbums "Zeitlang", das den Geist des frühen Black Metal sehr zur Freude von Kritikern und Fans wiederauferstehen ließ. Mit "Kremess" verleihen GRÀB ihrem bayerischen Black Metal neue musikalische Kraft, die weit in die Zukunft weist.
