This relatively new Stockholm duo have been making waves with their latest vinyl output. This EP conveys their love for the disco house sounds of Chicago, spearheaded by the likes of DJ Sneak. ‘Spoon Bait’ leads the way using an almost dreamlike vocal hook over a deep bass led groove with dub effects to boot. ‘Tuborg Translate’ picks up the tempo, chopping up a Philly style hook, underpinned by crisp beats and otherworldly space effects. Title track ‘Silja Line Superstar’ keeps the peak-time action going utilising warm emotive strings and brass whilst ‘Kenneth Knaster’ bounces along on a sublime disco ride bringing the EP to a close.

SKYLAX RECORDS presents a monumental new release by two of France’s most revered electronic music icons: ARNAUD REBOTINI & ACID WASHED. This record marks the first chapter of a secretive 4-part project — each release forming a piece of a bigger picture — a bold and mysterious tribute to the roots and future of rave culture. Following in the footsteps of Rebotini’s landmark album "Musical Component", this new project feels like a natural evolution — deepening his vision while expanding it into new sonic territories. Without giving too much away, this is SKYLAX BLACK 2 (after the LAXBLACK 1 "Winter Sequences EP" which marked the collaboration between Rebotini & Skylax) and features a set of four stunning tracks. On the A-side, Redshifts to Blueshifts opens the EP with an epic and soulful Detroit-style journey, evoking the finest moments of Underground Resistance — militant yet emotional, full of futuristic melancholy. 99 Shakes follows with a more direct club-driven assault, propelled by massive synth riffs and machine-gun rhythms, pushing the boundaries of dancefloor energy. Flip to the B-side and discover Futur Race, a pure electro odyssey à la Juan Atkins and early Metroplex (think 1985 sci-fi transmissions), sharp, robotic, and ultra-funky. Closing the EP is Gen Mix, a powerful and cinematic slice of what can only be called Wagnerian techno — intense, dramatic, orchestral in scope, and unmistakably Rebotini. This release is a statement — timeless and forward-thinking. This release is the first in a series — a mysterious and powerful journey through sound, vision, and legacy. What’s next? Using the original stems, Aroop Roy turns this MJ classic into a unifying dancefloor moment.
The arrangement is key here, building the suspense with an infectious disco/house groove, that will gradually pull in each person on the dancefloor. The raw proto house organs from the original get their moment to shine, before breaking down to euphoric horns and an anthemic vocal drop.
'Badstrumental' maintains the drama of the A side, whilst leaving the vocals to the imagination. The alternate mix saves the vocal for the very end.

Mexican artist Barbara Alvarez drops a fresh vinyl release on her own label, showcasing her signature sound. The record features three deep tech tracks with crisp electro basslines, tailor-made for the after-hours groove. Each cut pulses with hypnotic energy, pushing dancefloors into deeper territory. A standout breakbeat track rounds out the EP, layered with lush atmospheric pads for a dreamy finish.

This is the tenth instalment of the vinyl only PIV Limited series, where we focus on the deeper side of house music so we don’t lose touch with the lovely world of the underground.

Mysterious Detroit producer Bright Raven is back with another fine classic sounding Detroit techno release. Corktown EP features 4 tracks of deep, bleepy and warm sounding 313 techno. For fans of early Transmat, Retroactive, Network, Planet E etc.. Limited copies!

Never to rest on his laurels, Pronsato returns with two motif based tracks on Logistic. In this new work, Pronsato stitches four motifs together over two tracks (plus two digital only outtakes). Vocals, marimba, piano and pads are the forces at work here. Each playing a game of peek-a-boo throughout the four pieces...

Pronsato's approach to each of these compositions highlights his mastery in balancing complexity with accessibility, allowing each motif to shine individually while contributing to the overall narrative arc of the four pieces. Think ECM in the 80s meets Morton Subotnick...With dance stuff thrown in for good measure.

The hugely influential British DJ and producer Bushwacka bursts onto Nu Groove with a four-track EP, ‘House Sound Vol. 1’, that demonstrates the touch of an expert. A member of the legendary Rat Pack rave outfit, Bushwacka’s impact on the underground scene of the ‘90s was felt worldwide; together with fellow Brit Layo Paskin, the pair created spellbinding compositions that defined the sound of house and techno, blending the two genres approaching the new millennium.

For this fresh outing on the pioneering NYC label Nu Groove, Bushwacka taps into his unwavering knowledge of dancefloor culture. The opening, an ode to the legendary imprint ‘Strictly Nu’, builds infectious loops with ease before dropping into an arresting four-on-the-floor club feel.

The subsequent tracks follow suit, with ‘Love Can You’ and ‘Right Now’ showcasing the producer’s unique club-led sound in full flow, while ‘True For You’ has a more minimalistic approach. With this new delivery of originals, Bushwacka further cements his status as a genre-defining electronic innovator.

When Henry Street & Sacred Rhythm Music join forces for a remix outing, it should be obvious the source material and resulting productions are of the utmost caliber. This record proves such a case in point: Johnny "D" DeMairo & Joe Claussell team up for two takes on Candi Staton’s 1979 disco opus 'When You Wake Up Tomorrow.’ The original, whose pedigree could be inferred simply by reading Patrick Adams’ and Jimmy Simpson’s names on the label, is a faultless dance floor cut featuring all the elements you’d expect—lavish horn and string arrangements, sparkling synthesizer accents, and plenty of hand-beat drumming—along with with Staton’s peerless voice. Johnny D’s mix starts carefully, the vocal refrain accented with auxiliary percussion until the rug is pulled out from under us, the ensuing chasm making the following thrust of the track that much more powerful. On the flip.

Claussell’s take starts with reinforced four-on-the-floor, along with a studio count-in, perhaps alluding back to his previous ‘It Seems To Hang On’ edit. As the track establishes itself, ample room is afforded for interplay between bass and guitar, with all the interlacing elements aggrandizing the mood with careful shots of delay and expertly-timed pivots in atmosphere. Both sides are proof of what shouldn’t need evidence: two masters of their craft assembling two wholly new mixes that far surpass the banal copy and paste, add and subtract methodology slung by the less blessed. Pressed on white vinyl, with a custom jacket to boot.

This time, both volumes are brought together in a superb gatefold sleeve 4LP, taking you on a journey through the very best of Andy Jenkinson's work: Cool music, a blend of such quintessentially British culture that swings from gabba to IDM, from rough techno to electro to acid and analogue sounds - all packed into over two hours of madness. Charles D unveils his debut Drumcode EP, following three excellent releases on the label.

Ever since the New Yorker shared his remix of ‘Your Mind’ with Adam Beyer, which would go on to become only the second officially released remixes of the legendary track, we knew we were onto a special talent. A strong single on A-Sides Vol.11 ‘Traction’ was to follow, proceeded by another superb remix, this time of Mike Macaluso’s ‘Final Chapter’, reinforcing his skilled studio touch.

Now a year on from his first appearance on Beyer’s label, he steps up for a richly deserved debut EP, ‘Don’t Stop’, which encapsulates all the stylistic facets of his productions. The title track is fun and driving, brimming with ‘90s rave stabs and peak-time fizz. ‘No Escape’ is a pulsating stomper fusing together percussive techno and melodic elements to form a track that will work in a variety of environments. ‘Choir’s Palace’ is a dreamy tool and perfect for shifting the momentum during a peak-time set.

Long-time contributor to Drumcode, Christian Smith lands on Truesoul for the first time in his career.

The Tronic boss and all round techno stalwart shows us the groovier and more melodic side of his music personality with a pair of quality cuts. Co-produced by John Selway, ‘Here To Stay’ is a slick slice of robot fun, underlined by an elegant melodic underbelly, rugged electro riffs and an intergalactic vocal. Its accompaniment ‘Our Destiny’, is a searing chord led production ideal for warm-ups or silky morning sets.

For the third release of FanFar’on, we are travelling into another dimension, more on a Romanian & deep techno vibe from the works of Ciril & Cavale.
Both emerging for the electronic scene of Brusells and close to the Zodiak Crew, Ciril & Cavale brought their vibe with two tracks called « Dracula » & « Marchand de Sable » Definitely spiritual & atmospherics, the music is esthetic & mysterious, the Belgium producers are travelling to some ambient landscapes and experimental textures. To finish the ep ,we will have a completely destructured and almost jazzy remix from the famous Romanian producer : Dragutesku! As we say three is the « magic number » ,welcome to Ciril & Cavale for the third edition of FanFar’on,and let the FanFare begin!
