Few tracks carry the weight of techno history quite like Dave Clarke’s ‘Wisdom To The Wise’. Created in a damp basement flat in Brighton in the early ’90s, the track was produced on an Atari 1040 and micro-sampler, drenched in dubbed-out reverb and shaped by a young Clarke still honing the sound that would soon make his name.
‘Wisdom To The Wise’ became the centrepiece of Red 2, the second instalment of Clarke’s seminal three-release series. With Red 1 already making serious waves, it was Red 2 that sent interest in Clarke into overdrive. Within a year, the series had helped propel him from underground producer to global techno force, culminating in a major-label album deal and international recognition.
The track’s influence has endured ever since, earning celebrated reinterpretations from techno heavyweights including Robert Hood, Marcel Dettmann, Boys Noize and Steve Rachmad. Now, Spectrum adds another chapter to that lineage with a very special remix from label boss Joris Voorn.
Staying faithful to the spirit and unmistakable character of the original, Voorn brings his own weight to the classic, reinforcing its impact with a heavier kick and the subtle production touches that have become his signature. Originally created as a weapon for his own sets, the remix has been road-tested on dancefloors and is now ready to be unleashed beyond the booth.
What is an edit? A correction, a confession, a DJ tool, a mild act of vandalism—or simply the result of listening to somebody else’s record and thinking: very good, but what if this bit went on a little longer?
For his contribution to the Running Back Mastermix series, Gilles Aiken aka Edward opens a folder that has apparently been filling up for quite some time.
The Giegling resident’s thirteen edits reach back through years of DJing, collecting and producing. Made for sets rather than release schedules, they form something like a musical autobiography told through other people’s records: Carl Craig, Roman Flügel, Motohiko Hamase, Kirk Degiorgio, Aubrey, Sven Väth, Michael Rother and more.
From Japanese ambient jazz and Detroit techno to dub techno, house, trance and kosmische music, these are not attempts to improve records that didn’t need improving. They are the small interventions that happen after living with music for a long time: a rhythm exposed, an entrance moved, a passage extended, the unnecessary made necessary.
“These records mean a lot to me,” says Edward. “They consist of edits I’ve gathered over the years, some of them going way back. In a way, they reflect my musical journey. All of these artists have been a huge influence on me as a producer and DJ.”
Usually, such edits remain on hard drives, USB sticks and in vaguely labelled folders. This time permissions were requested, publishers located and, somewhere, presumably, a spreadsheet became very important.
Miraculously, everybody said yes.
Thirteen thank-you notes to the music that helped make Edward Edward. Naturally, they require three records.

Sean and Bohm’s Swedish–Dutch collaboration EP is a tribute to their shared love for the raw grooves of Chicago and Detroit house, with a subtle New York twist woven throughout. Across four carefully crafted tracks, the duo moves between shadowy, deep synth-driven atmospheres and brighter, more uplifting cuts built around classic organ sounds. Each track reflects a true joint effort, blending their styles into a cohesive yet varied release that nods to tradition while keeping things fresh on the dancefloor.
Ever-evolving Amsterdam duo ANOTR continue their forward momentum with the release of their highly anticipated third studio album, ‘Withness’, out via their own imprint No Art. Rooted firmly in dance music, ‘Withness’ sees the pair refine their sound into their most dance-floor focused and cohesive project to date.
Born during their global tour, ‘Withness’ was shaped in real time: written, tested and refined on dancefloors across the world. A key part of the process was spontaneity. The duo embraced a free-flowing, collaborative studio environment, often working with a rotating cast of contributors. Their now-signature “open mic” approach encouraged anyone in the room to experiment with melodies, lyrics and vocal ideas. This energy translates directly into the album’s standout moments. From the euphoric pull of ‘Withness’ to the groove-led ‘Do It With Ya’, the uplifting ‘Paradise’, each track is built to live beyond a single setting.
The LP comes at a timely moment, as their single ‘Talk To You ft. 54 Ultra’ has become the biggest global breakout dance single this year. Sitting firmly in Spotify’s Global Top 200, it has surpassed 175 million streams, and is currently No. 21 in the UK Singles Chart. Spotify have tipped it in their much-coveted global ‘Sound Of The Summer 2026’ list and other highlights include peaking at No. 7 in Shazam’s Global Chart, No.1 on Beatport Top 100 and gaining over 600M UGC views so far.

Sweep returns with its second release, bringing together Jigit co-head O.Bee and Unreleased boss Cem G. ‘Makes Me Feel’ is the first music to see the light from a long-standing friendship and collaboration shaped between their two homes, New York and Istanbul, and comes backed with a stirring remix from Giegling’s Edward.
O.Bee and Cem G bring forward a sound rooted in Istanbul’s music culture, developed through ReSolute’s warehouse parties on the outskirts of Brooklyn and refined at Berlin’s Club der Visionaere. It’s music that feels equally at home in all three settings. Dyed Soundorom’s Sweep is built around underground sounds with depth and groove — much like his own DJ sets — and this second release sits naturally within that world.
On side A, the original mix of ‘Makes Me Feel’ rolls out with a sturdy groove from the start. O.Bee and Cem G build the energy carefully, peppering the ethereal atmosphere with a repeated vocal clip as the tension grows. A variety of percussive layers and pads add depth, keeping you locked in. Halfway through, the vocal goes into full flow — scattered words bounce around like a jumbled poem, evolving into a call and response of dissipating voices on top of the rolling bass, fully hypnotizing. Underground music par excellence.
The flip features a rework from one of Giegling’s central figures, Edward, who adds a tougher edge to the original. Still operating in the deeper end of the spectrum, the remix plucks out the ‘Make me feel’ part of the vocal and uses it throughout. Dark, brooding and enchanting, Edward’s reinterpretation progressively adds more layers, increasing the dynamism while bringing further nuance to the atmosphere. A real treat for Edward fans…

Im Herbst 2007 veröffentlichte ein 26-jähriger Produzent aus Köln namens Daso Franke seine 12"-Single auf dem Label ,Spectral Sound" von Ghostly. Auf der A-Seite befand sich ,Meine", ein euphorischer, achtminütiger Höhenflug, der die Tanzflächen weltweit begeisterte. Seitdem ist die Single zu einem regelrechten Klassiker geworden. Anfang dieses Jahres bezeichnete Resident Advisor ,Meine" als einen der besten Songs des Jahrhunderts bis jetzt. Im April 2018 verstarb Franke nach einem langen Kampf gegen den Krebs. Mit der Unterstützung seiner Familie und auf Wunsch der Fans machen wir die ,Meine Idee"-EP wieder verfügbar - in Erinnerung an Dasos musikalisches Vermächtnis. Resident Advisor fährt fort: ,Der Song ist unglaublich positiv, was erklärt, warum er jahrelang ein Favorit in der Panorama Bar war. In den letzten Augenblicken seines Lebens spielten Dasos Freunde ,Meine` über eine Stereoanlage in der Ecke seines Krankenhauszimmers. Es war die einzige Möglichkeit." West Coast tech house had long since taken shape by the time it made its way over to the UK at the turn of the new millennium, and that's in part because of the pioneering work of the Casa Del Soul crew. The "DJ-first, producer-second collective" was founded in Denver in 1999 by a bunch of artists including DJ Darrell Foxx, who put out several records that laid out the blueprint for this raw, gritty sound across several EPs. His debut, 'The Collective EP', was one of them - two live-session, warehouse-ready tracks of low-slung and stripped-back tech with swing in the drums and dust in the percussion. The original DAT tapes were lost in a blizzard, which meant original copies have become ever more scarce and pricey on the second-hand market... until now. This fantastic remaster brings them back to life with the same distinctive rawness that made them favourites with Doc Martin and Tyrant (Craig Richards and Lee Burridge) the first time around. Utterly essential.
