Replenish your record collection with another precious historical artefact from the Free Tekno/Freeparty scene. The second half of the LSD series from 69db, further exploring a dialogue with what was going on in Chicago, in the artist’s words: “ This Ep was a respose to what the pioneers laid down in Chicago and were out of step with the hard-Tec / Tribe we were doing.”
At a slower pace than the more known Spiral Tribe sound, this 4 track EP offers the DJ an arsenal of percussive elaborations, minimal sounds with hints of tribal feel and layered samples used for potent dance floor oriented outcomes. Remastered for optimal effect.

Often cited as the strongest Tribe 69db live recording, this cassette emerged from a tense and pivotal moment in the early 90s free party scene.
At the time, Techno Import was the largest electronic music shop in Paris, and arguably in France. The shop planned to release a CD compilation titled Sound Of Teknival, featuring Spiral Tribe. As the project progressed, disagreements over money, copyrights and control led Spiral Tribe to withdraw their approval.
Despite this, Shark Records, the label linked to Techno Import for the project, proceeded with the CD release without full artist consent. In response, 69db released a tape titled "Fuck Techno Import". This cassette stands as raw testimony to the clash between underground culture and commercial structures, capturing both the sound and spirit of an era when autonomy mattered more than compromise. Originally released in 1997, specially remastered for tape.

A Jazz Dance Favourite that Jazz Room Records Head Honcho Paul Murphy was hepped to by Brownswood and 6Music Jazz Supremo Gilles Peterson at the 20th Birthday Bash of London's most Underground of Clubs: Shiftless Shuffle.

Murphy: "I'd quite forgotten all about it, but when I saw the reaction on the dancefloor it was "Mental Note Time, get on the case for a full investigation and let's see some Vinyl re-issue action!"

The head of the original Danish Label, Pick Up Records, later reminded Paul that he was selling the originals in his original Jazz Record Shop "Fusion Records" when the original was released and that he, Peter Littauer, had actually delivered them personally on a trip to London. Synergy in action!

The music is a mixture of 100mph Latin Jazz (Girl With Three Faces/747 To Rio/From Dusk Towards Dawn) and Funky Rhodes driven workouts (Travelling/Circles In The Air), plus the vocal pyrotechnics of Hawaiian singer Lei Aloha Moe who guested on two of the tracks.

Crystal Tides’ long-awaited debut album Toothpaste is the sound of a band truly coming into their own. Written and recorded completely independently, the record embodies the spirit of resilience, creativity, and raw honesty that has carried the Portsmouth outfit through their journey so far. “We wanted the focus of this album to showcase our independence as a band. We felt it important, given our journey thus far, that it come from us in as raw form as possible.” The seeds of Toothpaste were planted back in 2022 with rough voice notes on lead singer Billy’s phone, evolving into a collection of songs that capture both the band’s infectious energy and their most personal reflections to date. From collaborative writing sessions in the practice room to late-night home demos, every track carries the DNA of Crystal Tides’ unity and determination. Working with long-time collaborator and producer David Evans, the result is a bold, heartfelt body of work that celebrates their independence while delivering polished, stadium-ready anthems. The album takes its name from one of its most intimate tracks. Toothpaste was born out of Billy’s battle with Ulcerative Colitis, which led to life-changing surgery. A passing joke about naming the album after the song became a moment of clarity. It's unusual, striking title felt like the only choice, a symbol of the band’s authenticity and ability to find meaning even in the unexpected.

Aber ihre Musik lebte weiter, da nachfolgende Generationen von Künstlern und Fans ihre Songs entdeckten und sich für sie begeisterten.

Die brandneue Neuauflage des bahnbrechenden selbstbetitelten Albums der Band, Cymande, wurde 2022 in den Abbey Road Studios neu gemastert.

In diesem Jahr kommt die gefeierte Cymande-Dokumentation "Getting It Back: The Story Of Cymande" in die britischen und internationalen Kinos. "Getting It Back" wurde unter der Regie von Tim Mackenzie-Smith gedreht und enthält Interviews mit einer ganzen Reihe von Musikern und Produzenten, die beeinflusst und begeistert sind von der Musik Cymandes, darunter Mark Ronson, Jim James, Kool DJ Red Alert, DJ Maseo und Louie Vega.

Mark Hawkins has had a career in music spanning the past 25 years.
It has encompassed torturing Goa trance ravers with esoteric techno records on Welsh hillsides in the mid '90s, hanging with UK house heads like the DiY and Smokescreen sound-systems around quarries, fields, clubs and pubs in the Midlands, after which he found his initial niche in producing punky techno around the turn of the millennium for labels like Djax Up Beats and Mosquito.
After an eight-year stint producing, releasing and playing out proper underground house music as Marquis Hawkes on labels like Houndstooth and Aus Music, making techno records for DVS1's Mistress imprint and Len Faki's Figure recordings as Juxta Position, alongside other work under the names Contactless and Falcon Black Ops for Unknown To The Unknown, Hawkins now embarks on the next phase of his career, which will gradually amalgamate his broad influences into one unique sound.

Big thanks to a certain Mr. Gilles Peterson who first alerted Paul Murphy, Head of Jazz Room Records to this Spiritual Jazz meets Bebop gem when he played the track "I've Known Rivers" on his show on BBC6 MUSIC. Paul immediately took steps to contact Mr. Noviello with a view to release this previously unknown (to him anyway) hidden delight. It's Frank Noviello's debut album and a mixed bag of Jazz Standards and highly original covers and originals. Randy Westons's "High Fly" has a really grooving arrangement, Vocal Bebop in the original "Tribal Dance" and the highlight in the Gary Bartz/Langston Hughes Spiritual Jazz outing "I've Known Rivers". If you're known to glide in and around to that Mark Murphy bag then this is hip to the trip for you!...

Gary Martin has a history of creating something new by combining a couple things old. This time around the concept is what happens if we mix techno with burlesque to make the cake and then add some Berlin for the icing. A sexy 4 tracker indeed with the titles “Berlisque”, “Black Boa”, ‘More Sex Magic Voodoo”, and “Berlisque Ryan Elliott Remix”. The title track features a stomping bassline with some real drums, classic Detroit style keyboard chord hits and gentle guitar sounds. Black Boa has kind of a glam style synth riff and cheers. M.S.M.V. gets distorted and a bit Caribbean. The Ryan Elliott mix is shiny and silky smooth

Exhausted from a 3 years in the making album called Lagarius released in 2023. Gary Martin had a plan to not work in the studio this summer until he realized his Facebook keyboard playing friend named Brian Mars was a.k.a. Javonntte the writer of an exceptional good song on The Mahogany compilation released that year.

Gary created the beat for The Infinite Time and Brian sent the bass line and the keys. Then, picking the exotic scale called Persian was how the creation of Zurvan started. Teknotika goes back to 1995 and 1996 to hand pick two favorites to be reworked and computerized for perfect tempos. “2020 Interview With An Alien” uses the original rare and sought after version with an added “jack” in the rhythm. “Acid Spores From Outer Space” is what happens when you mix acid with science fiction. It contains the original but changes the bassline and adds a tripped out section 3/4 in the song. Both the originals and the reissues are written and produced by Gary Martin with some help from The Outer Limits.

In The Light is rightly regraded as Horace Andy's strongest testament. Originally released in 1977 and given confirmed reggae album classic status by it's 1995 Blood & Fire release, it's re-issued here on CD complete with it's Prince Jammy dub companion along with newly commissioned sleeve notes from reggae historian Noel Hawks featuring previously unseen photos. There are two vinyl formats - one featuring the original 10 tracks, and the other featuring the Dub (in its iconic original sleeve). Horace Andy's profile already legendary in reggae circles, has been internationally raised by his work with Massive Attack and his continued live presence, 'In The Light' captures him at the very of his game.

Mit Sexistential meldet sich Robyn mit ihrem bislang poppigsten Album zurück. Nach dem atmosphärischen Honey (2018) rückt sie wieder klar strukturierte Popsongs ins Zentrum - neun prägnante Tracks, entstanden an einem persönlichen Nullpunkt. Borrowing from the melody of Rah Band’s “Electric Fling”, Stefano Breda’s cover version completely re-invents the theme into what came to be a “Afro Cosmic” classic. Not your average Italo Disco sound, the downtempo chuggy beat quickly got picked up by pioneering jocks in the cosmic scene. With plenty of silence in between transients putting the spotlight on the multiple percussive elements employed by the skilful drum machine techniques of Breda along with trippy electric wind instrument sounds, resulting in an overall aesthetic of highly unforgettable mediterranean dreaminess, take a deep dive into Breda’s instrumental bliss. This release is remastered and further embellished with yet another previously unreleased mix of “Electric Fling” which was recently alchemized by the artist himself — the “Long Afro Version” which goes in the bonus beat realm with another study in his percussive generosities.

Sweatmaster releases a new full-length album after a 15-year hiatus via Svart Records Sweatmaster, one of the aristocrats of Finnish garage rock, is making a big comeback with the release of their fifth album More! in January 2026. After the release of their 2010 album Dig Up the Knife, the band took a long break, which ended a few years ago with live performances both domestic and abroad. At the same time, new material began to emerge in the rehearsal room, and the band quickly found a common strategy for working on it. "We were unanimous about the strengths of our band and decided to get to the heart of the matter. The main idea was to make straightforward songs carried by the vocals. The kind that would work well live with our aggressive playing style," says the band's drummer Matti Kallio. Svart Records will release Sweatmaster's fifth album early next year. More! is a sharp package of fourteen songs that has not been polished to death. "We wanted a raw and electric sound for the new album, built tightly around the three of us playing. The aim was to stick to Sweatmaster's original energy and not spread ourselves too thin. However, despite our efforts, the intervening years brought some new tones with them," guitarist Mikko Luukko explains the background of the new album. The album's first single will be released on Friday, September 19th, and according to singer-bassist Sasu Mykkänen, Destroyer is the essence of Sweatmaster. "The drum fill draws you into the pull of the electric triangle. The guitar taps at the ballads and wants nothing more than to drive the rhythm until the passionate vocals take over. The song doesn't lead anywhere, it's already there. 2 minutes, 37 seconds. Wham bam. Here you go." Don’t Pretend’ by the Belles is one of the foundation stones of northern soul. Largely ignored in its homeland it is revered across the Atlantic. It has been reissued twice in the UK, but this time we have chosen an alternative B side to previous releases. ‘Cupid’s Got A Hold On Me’ was only found in 2004 when Ace bought the Mirwood catalogue and the recording was discovered among the tapes. It deserves its share of the spotlight.

Dave Hamilton revived ‘My Sweet Baby’ his 1967 release by J T Rhythm on a harmony group from Flint, Michigan called the Mark-Keys. The backing tracks are similar, but the harmonies are softer and it is this version that appeals to the Lowrider scene devotees. Força Maior combines the vital saxophone explorations of Pedro Alves Sousa with the infinitely subtle electronic processing of Pedro Tavares. Sousa (aka Má Estrela) is known for manipulating his woodwind through guitar pedalboards & amplifiers, creating far-from-ordinary sonics rooted in unceasing curiosity. For his part, Tavares (aka funcionário) conjoins video & sound work to create space for the pensive wanderings where memory and imagination interlace.

The album Morte Lilás was recorded over a week in June 2023 in Pedro Alves Sousa's family farm, located in the village of Ferreirim, near Lamego, in Portugal. The partly abandoned farm served as the residency, studio, and inspiration for the album: it is a 400-year-old granite farm that belonged to a member of the "40 conspirators"—a group that led the revolution for Portugal's independence from Spain in the 17th century.

Morte Lilás is a remarkable album of committed meditation. Each day on the farm was a recording day for the two Pedros: Sousa on sax & electronics, Tavares on sampler & processing. Apart from slight sonic incursions from the surrounds—the birds on 'Quinta à tarde'—and the sporadic use of sine tones, the source sounds all start from the saxophone. It is then processed both by Sousa & Tavares. The album unfolds as a saxophonic tapestry that breathes with quiet intensity. Each piece invites close listening, revealing fine gestures and tonal shifts that shape a contemplative, ambient space. Força Maior move with calm precision.

The album opens with the unhurried overture 'Quinta à Tarde' a Portuguese pun on Eno's Thursday Afternoon that announces the textures at play. Sousa's breathy entrance is paired with a soft, delicately shifting, backdrop. As the track progresses, time seems to stretch. The arrangement resists urgency, favouring subtle evolution over dramatic turns. Pensive layers shift & drift, creating a sense of suspended motion that brings the listener into the environs of Morte Lilás. 'Quinta à Tarde' is a long-form fade, shifting emphasis from Sousa to Tavares.

'Cubos' continues the gauzy feel, but with a more up-tempo tilt. Rhythmic clicks & pings setup a swung time for the sax to interpose melodic lines that are fed back & bent with cascading delays. Força Maior in distilled form.

Força Maior is in top form on the title track 'Morte Lilás', a sprawling centrepiece that showcases their command of atmosphere & emotional pacing. By turning up the reverberation & leaning into a continuous format, they dissolve the gap between hypnotic trance & articulate reverie. Then, a moment of stillness. The track pauses, not abruptly but like a tide pulling back, revealing the contours beneath. What follows is a return to the album's more relaxed architecture: understated rhythms, softened textures, and a sense of spaciousness that opens space for reflection. It is a transition that feels organic, as if the song itself needed to exhale before settling back into its contemplative groove.

'Menta' is another short-form miniature of the band's signature contours: beautiful loops of air pressure gradients that carry an emotive weight & light.

The album closes with 'Cascata do Inferno'. The title suggests violence, but the music whispers instead—an atmospheric cascade of breath & tone that emerges in slow, deliberate waves. Short melodic cycles are matched by shimmering electronic chords. It's a piece that rewards patience, draws the listener in to drift downstream, eyes closed, into the serene turbulence of its current.

This project seeks connections between what is happening in biogenetics (cloning, biomechanical grafts), in art (the body as a territory to be redesigned), and all modern practices of intervention in music such as remixing, cutting and pasting, sampling.
To consider the sonic landscape as an unstable, moving cell culture, which allows experimentation on the body of musical pieces, on their chemical composition in an entirely artificial way. Surgical score, altered rhythms, reworkings.
Music is a mirror of what is happening in our time.

Arrival's debut EP does just that - assembling immersive aural environments and delicately detailed backdrops - setting the scene for the perfectly pitched deeply melancholic meditations of Britain's least known and most valuable guitarist, Kevin McCormick.

Baby Mammoth’s seventh album, helpfully titled “Seven Up”, was originally released on CD in 2001 by Pork Recordings (Dave ‘Porky’ Brennand and Steve Cobby) who were behind household names “Fila Brazillia” and “Bullitnuts”, pioneering the sound of the late 90s / early 2000s downtempo, ambient, and trip hop scene. In collaboration with Pork Recordings, Seven Up is now being released by Musical Charis on vinyl for the first time. Baby Mammoth mastered the sound of downtempo lounge in this album which has stood the test of time, warranting its re-release.

In this album, Baby Mammoth stay true to their traditional funky downtempo course, while the guitar plucks and modulations of “1” certainly make for a joyful listen. "And I'll See You" leans heavily on a vocal sample from Jimmy Scott's “Under the Sycamore Tree” and provides a nice introduction for the swoops in “Baroque 'n' Roll” which drift in on clouds of strings. “Frozen” gets bubblier and "Pink Elephants" gets more spare and groovier with its bongo and flute-driven sensation (a real crowd favourite!). Indeed, they maintain a sense of fun throughout the album, keeping things on the lighter side, driving up the dub reverb on "Deadpool”, or engaging with some vocal snippets on “Frank's Angels”. Baby Mammoth will have you giddy with this release on vinyl.

INDEX:Records alum vase (aka Downstairs People; games) and label-head Conna Haraway team up as ‘department’ to deliver a two-track mini-epic of sprawling brooding soundscapes and future-facing rhythms, via finely chiseled abstract outbursts and widescreen cinematic depth of field. (Additional live instrumentation comes courtesy of Glasgow-based staev, and INDEX:Rec affiliate MCRD supplies intuition suggestions.)

I first found out about Dope On Plastic from a remix they had done of a track by Ontology (who has released previously on this label) & then later found out more about them when they had been sending tunes to Pete Dev/Null, which I would hear him playing on our radio show on Jungletrain.

Soon after that, whilst touring North America, I'd meet Dope On Plastic in person whilst I was in New York, get to hang out with them and visit their home studio. They showed me a tune at the time they were working on (which ended up being Odyssey) and it sounded sick, like something that I would definitely release on Future Retro London.

When they finished it and sent it over to me, along with some other music they had made around that time, there was more than enough to work with for a full EP & Life Energy is a collection of my favourite tracks of theirs of what they had sent me. Big up to Luca (Dope On Plastic) for their work on this EP, keep an eye out for more music from them in the future!

After the re-release of Drexciya's 'Neptune's Lair' and Transllusion's 'The Opening of the Cerebral Gate', 'Harnessed the Storm' is the third album in Tresor Records' great Drexciya reissue program.
Originally released in 2002, 'Harnessed the Storm' was conceived as the opening chapter of the legendary Seven Storms - a series of seven albums created within a single year and released via several labels under different names. 'Harnessed the Storm' was the sole one in the series credited under the main Drexciya project.
The album, which is considered to be one of the pair's darkest, was produced in a time of creative outbreak and emotional turbulence. The duo's confidence was at a peak, new techniques revolutionized musical production, but the duo also had to face Stinson's severe health issues. This led to a radical shift of pace in producing and releasing music. For the Detroit pair it was time to move on from their ground-breaking past. It was time for some shape shifting and wave jumping to occur, in Drexciya's terms.

The lyrics, filled with references to hip hop culture, flow in an explosive mix of English, Spanish, and Catalan, sharing their love for the tradition of rap and African American music. KREWE is a manifesto of the positive side of hip hop, a tribute to the unstoppable strength of the collective that a brass band represents in contrast to the solitude of the individual, and a homage to the legacy of hip hop and the vibrant tradition of New Orleans

Fly Free is the newest EP by Jon Dixon on his Hi-Tech Jazz label, 4EVR 4WRD (Forever Forward). He collaborated with 2 good friends and Detroit legends, John "Jammin" Collins and Al Ester to create two unique edits that best suit their personal DJ style. He is no stranger to both jazz heads and techno innovators. He's played with UR's Timeline with Mad Mike, Carl Craig to jazz great Marcus Belgrave. "I wanted to make something that could be the theme song for a Detroit summer regardless of where you're going or coming from," Jon said. "I wanted to create a song that was perfect for cruising down Jefferson heading to Belle Isle, or being stuck in downtown traffic after a game." Jon Dixon took something so familiar to the people of Detroit and transformed it into a piece the world can dance to.

Hanagasumi, or "flowering haze," is a Japanese term that poetically describes the smoky, blurred appearance of numerous cherry blossoms visible from a distance. This image is often compared to a floral mist or fog. Through this word, the Japanese convey the visual effect created by a large number of flowers forming a soft, diffused, and ethereal picture. Such a description beautifully resonates with the musical palette of the new release. Introducing the long-awaited album Agera by the mysterious musician Jon'Smu. The record combines elements of classic deep house and ambient music, creating a unique atmosphere and the author's distinctive signature. The album features 8 stunning tracks, carefully selected and compiled into a cohesive story. A few words from the author: "This album, spanning a vast timeline of creativity, is about how important and interesting it is to be in motion and in constant search of something new. The recordings presented cover a significant interval of my musical journey through the diversity of genres and sound experimentation. At the core of the music lies Nature - it is the primary source of inspiration for me, and Action is a key moment of life for everything in nature. A wide range of instruments was used in the recording process, whether fully digital compositions or those featuring vintage analog instruments. Known for his ability to create captivating, emotionally charged techno, Jonathan Kaspar eventually returns to Cocoon Recordings with his third contribution Twofold Split. One, yet simultaneously two releases that once again showcase his extraordinary talent through condensed techno with a pinch of trance, weaving together driving rhythms and atmospheric textures in a way that feels innovatively progressive.

Rooted in a minimalist rhythmic structure, ‘Power’ takes us in a new direction, steadily building momentum as its energy billows upwards, with the intensity never wavering throughout. A large, dented, tinny tuba sounds imposingly as Jonathan blows louder and louder into the old thing, its raw, metallic tone instantly commanding attention. What an explosion in the break, leading us into a wild, almost chaotic energy, before Kaspar’s meticulous attention to detail ensures that the shimmering synths feel perfectly placed, guiding us to the absolute freak-out moment. After all the insanity, Jonathan Kaspar takes us by the hand and leads us into a melodic, trancy after-hours mood with “1993,” bringing a sense of release after the wild ride of the previous tracks. What a successful closing track to this outstanding release. With its melodic trance influences, it offers a soothing, almost nostalgic atmosphere, bringing a sense of calm and closure, a perfect moment of introspection and euphoria as
the EP winds down

A techy double A slice of house from label head Kaz James thats been doing the rounds with some heavy hitting DJ piers. Both tracks have been staple part of Kaz's sets at Art Basel, Desa Kitsuné Bali, Burning Man, Brooklyn Mirage, Pacha Ibiza, Koko London, Mayan Warrior Tulum, his Mykonos residency Alamagou and beyond.

The release follows 'Sun is Shining' which was supported by the likes of Keinemusik, Black Coffee, and Pete Tong as Essential New Tune.

Opening with an instrumental blend of old school synthwork, delicate breaks and an inquisitive plinky melody, the track soon bursts into life with old school rave vocals joyfully screaming “everything you do”, setting this firmly in the mid 90’s, as is the Waveforms way. Trademarks of Law’s distinctive atmospheric style - heard previously on sister label Curvature - are present, toying with breaks effortlessly with a variety of effects thrown in for good measure.

Easy-going synths, washing waves and elegant bongos introduce Waveform 18, before filtered breakbeats are flecked, scattered and multiplied across a collage of samples as the breaks charge up. When the drop comes it hits hard as Law expertly chops and edits a cacophony of amen goodness, with smothering sub bass rumbling below creating a memorable, retrospective slice of old school beats.

Tresor resident DJs LNS and DJ Sotofett have for some years been developing a style at the club‘s Globus floor, and their new EP is a die cut of exactly the classic techno, electro, and house music they play.
Here are no productions drenched in reverb, no hi-fi obsessions or generic algorithmic patterns – this is Globus Trax, the duo's third release on Tresor Records, four tracks consisting of real TR-909 workouts, rude and driving basslines, live runs through the mixing desk, and a Blake Baxter cover version with LNS on vocals.
LNS & DJ Sotofett programmed an EP to perfectly fit their warehouse style of DJing, bringing out colour and variation in a spectrum more similar to a club compilation than a dogmatically reduced concept. With a single repeated vocal sample, Globus Trax opens bombastically with ClickClickClick, a dub -infused UK garage house track anyone in the world can easily describe in the course of a second.
Following this comes Gearbox which is a hefty slab of big room electro featuring a centerpiece arpeggio and the warmest harmonic pads on the EP's four tracks, which not-so-subtly makes reference to the pioneering band that shares a name with Globus and Tresor's home, the Kraftwerk.
The house vibe returns on Destination 909, which is nothing but a manifesto for the TR-909, where the beloved drum machine's jacking beats meet galactic strings and synthetic bass, only to be ripped apart in a slamming break that sees the machine take centre stage as it cuts in-and-out of the mix, again a clear nod to the duo’s sets in the club.
LNS steps up on vocal duties and DJ Sotofett keeps the 909 running for their final cut, taking a deeper dive into the realms of classic techno and paying tribute to “The Prince of Techno” Blake Baxter by covering his Reach Out originally released on Tresor Records in 1995.
The 12” was cut by DJ Sotofett himself at Manmade Mastering, where he resurrects the lost art of late-90s loud cuts with sonic presence and punch, optimal for the club-focused 12” format, and is the first to come in the new Tresor Sleeve, boasting an embossed logo on either side.

A year after her rebirth on the 2.0 EP, Maedon returns to her Rant & Rave imprint with the intentions of her previous release now distilled and focused into bold new forms. Whereas before the artist was transitioning from her earlier work towards new directions, Matter & Form arrives as an extended concept piece featuring four variations on a bracing, developed sound, an equally impressive remix from Lady Starlight, and a contrasting mix of the opening track. Where 2.0 charted emergence, 'Entelechy I-IV' unites to actualize this potential into a single-minded purpose behind fundamental principles.

Immediately launching into territory her last release only hinted at, 'Entelechy I' is a showcase for her now-mature approach. Her rhythmic dexterity and groove focus remains, with drum programs subtly evolving phrase by phrase, but they now form the basis for layered, complex compositions in a decidedly contemporary vein. 'Entelechy II' shifts focus towards the arrangement while keeping its drums steadily driving, drawing attention to details in its densely designed sounds through deliberate, gradual processing. Relaxing the tempo slightly, 'Entelechy III' fills in the extra space with more dark atmospherics and finely detailed soundscapes, finding a heavy medium between dark ambience and hammering techno. Another deeper effort, 'Entelechy IV' counterbalances insistent, finely-tooled percussive bleeps and equally persistent bass figures against another sweeping bass pulse, at times breaking down into carefully-controlled atonal aggression. Lady Starlight's remix is skeletal in comparison, deploying its parts sequentially over ticker hi hats and a massive kick while using small shifts to incrementally build tension. 'Entelechy I (Bent Mix)' is more accurately described as hellbent, stripping out the original's harmonic elements to grind the heavy rhythmic workout against an unrelenting acid line.

Midnight Magic’s perennial disco anthem 'Beam Me Up' announced itself as an instant classic from the moment of its release in 2010, and at long last the band has teamed up with fellow Brooklynites Razor-N-Tape for a 10-year-anniversary package (minus one lost year) that once again establishes the timeless quality of the song with a fresh and versatile package of new remixes.

Norwegian space-disco don Prins Thomas delivers a sprawling and elegant mix, grounding melodic and psychedelic elements over a bumping percussive disco rhythm treatment, stretching out over 8 minutes of blissful breakdowns, delays and driving bass lines. Kim Ann Foxman takes the song to a darker and dubbier place with her 'Beam Me To The Basement Mix,' layering samples of singer Tiffany Roth’s vocal and insistent acid synths over a heavy and pulsing low end. Each Other, a new project by Max Pask and NYC club royalty Justin Strauss, crafts an extended peak-time stormer of a mix, with churning analog drum and synth production that is somehow ravey, New-Wavey and lush all at once.

These three mixes truly capture an entire club night in one record, each a beautifully unique interpretation that showcases the inimitable talent and creativity of the remixers, and is also a testament to the enduring perfection of the original.
