Andrzej Korzynski is, without a doubt, one of the most important, celebrated and influential Polish musicians of the XX century.
He wrote plenty of pop hits, created a very famous and extremely successful Franek Kimono project, collaborated with world renowned movie directors like Andrzej Wajda and Andrzej Zulawski, and played a key part in the legendary studio group Arp Life. Korzynski is also well known for his soundtrack for a cult classic for kids, "Mister Blot's Academy".

All in all, he's perceived as an extremely creative person, a real pioneer who helped introduce synthesizers to the world of domestic film and pop music. A true artist with many faces, a handful of projects, and a musician that cannot be pigeonholed. Without any doubt, he is really something.

So, with all that being said, no wonder that The Very Polish Cut-Outs' attention was drawn by the Master's work.

Without further ado, we have an honoor and pleasure to announce this release.
Four remixed tracks from the very rich artistic output of Andrzej Korzynski. All the tracks were carefully picked by the composer himself, out of a dozen proposals. It is worth adding that such a release was a personal dream of Zambon, the TVPCO's founder, especially given the fact that his very first edit was "Baby bump", a cut by the aforementioned Arp Life group.

"Niezle Numery" EP consists of four top notch edits and remixes brought to you by a well-known pack of producers closely related to the label with the famous rooster logo.
Holiday 80 guys take over the A side having expertly cut original material by Zenek Czubaty (the predecessor of the legendary Franek Kimono studio output), finishing off with two thumping peak-time heaters with infectious vocals.
On the flip you can find a more relaxed and reflexive take with a downtempo twist. Pejzaz adds his trademark sound to "Monika", a piece deeply immersed in slo-mo vibe, while Karol Aleksander's "Welwet" is a nu-disco tinged groover with a personal touch. This EP is strictly dedicated to the lovers of hidden dance floor gems and die-hard collectors of rare stuff.

The outstanding cover was designed by long-time collaborator, Bartosz Szymkiewicz.

powerful disco house tool by Brine, the London based &

this track adorned with a super vocal by himself echoing
certain Talking Heads sound and house edits. B Side starts
with a chicagoish house gem made by S-DM under one of
his various alias, you'll love its powerful bouncing bass,
will lose yourself in its tom & conga groove and its soft
pad. B2 is a lost gem coming from HIll studio straight by
the sea of our riviera, tropical 626 drum lines, a fresh
classic sounding lead melody and juno bass delivered by
the seaside for the seaside.
Last but not least we have "Unity House" by Manuold, a
deeper but still fizzy house track with mellow pads and a
gentle acid line.
This comes from the sea, the sun & the sand, from every
riviera of the world, from all those common yet special

Since 2017’s ‘Song For Mr Lewis EP’ on Phonica White, Austin Ato has dropped stunningly funky 12”s with ease on many respected house labels including Classic Records and Defected. We were waiting for the right track for his follow-up on Phonica White and when we heard ‘When Love Is Tender’, we knew it was the one - a huge disco house based on an obscure Philadelphia-style jam.

It’s the simplicity of the original mix that sets the tone with pumping and driving Disco drums backed to roof raising saxophone licks and soulful vocal snippets, with those all-important deeply moving Philly string samples that are restrained when necessary and released at all the right moments, especially when the drum drops. ‘All Night Long’ highlights Austin Ato’s sample chopping expertise. The drums roll effortlessly through the track as dusty Soul and Disco samples echo and repeat, conjuring sonic memories of Andrés and Pépé Bradock’s best work.

For the next release we head to Barbados and 1985 for the first official reissue of ‘Exit’ by Fire Flight. The best reissues succinctly capture a moment in time and this album provides a snapshot of Island life in the Caribbean region of the America’s in the middle of the 1980’s. The LP encompasses new wave, funk and early house rhythms with a backbone of calypso.

The idea for Fire Flight started with Carl “Beaver” Henderson, a musician, arranger and producer who initially provided back up band services for the Royal Bank of Trinidad & Tobago’s annual staff Calypso competition. In 1981 the idea quickly evolved into the 15 piece band that was Fire Flight who took Trinidad and Tobago’s performance spaces and annual carnival by storm with their electrifying life performances. The band also travelled to Toronto, Montreal and New York for their annual carnivals. In 1984 the band entered the now defunct Coral Sound Studios in Barbados to record their debut album. The driving force behind the LP was the band’s main songwriter Francis Escayg’s desire to explore alternative avenues of recognition for the band and to perform and thrive in the carnival off season. Highlights from the LP include the slow new wave funk of ‘Best Shot’ & ‘White Horse’, the melting pot of calypso, zouk and reggae influences on ‘Hard Life’ & ‘Mornin Lovin’ and the tropical proto house of ‘Wantin U’ that was a highlight of the Fire Flight live show.

Completely unorthodox production techniques employed by one of Spain’s maestros from the 80’s, THANKYOU brings back one of Julian Ruiz’s craziest productions that come with a potential threat to any well tuned HiFi system (careful at 1:26 on A side). A remarkable dubby/italo rhythm section sets the foundation for a dreamy melody that won’t be forgotten so easily. Inspired in Indian mythology, “El Genio De Los Pies Rojos” is a masterpiece that will take any tasteful dancefloor to serious heights. Includes 2 other shorter titles from the album originally released in 1986.

Few groups of musicians would be brave enough to tackle such an iconic jazz funk classic, but the Incognito guys under the guise of Citrus Sun and in the capable hands of their producer, Bluey, have pulled it off. This rendition of the Lonnie Liston Smith masterpiece from 1975 was recorded in 2020 and became the title track of an album, further to which it has brewed on the underground dance scene building an insatiable appetite for a release on 12” vinyl. So here it is in all it’s glory, coupled with an original instrumental jazz funk creation “Hard Boiled”. Grab one while you can. This 12” version comes in straight on the bass line.

Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Love And Dancing’, Horse Meat Disco reveal their latest single ‘Love If You Need It’, a highlight from the LP, complete with remixes from Mousse T. and Dr Packer. Written by London singer-songwriter Fi McCluskey and long-time friend of the group Luke Solomon, Horse Meat Disco once again capture that warm glow of a night on the dancefloor with this slice of nu-disco joy. With Mousse T. lending his signature effervescence to the release with his Classic Shizzle, his Dub You Need provides a clubbier alternative to the vocal original. True to form, Australian master of the disco edit Dr Packer’s remix fleshes out the bassline with plenty of extra funk to make a perfect fit for a disco set.

TCR005 was being held for better times due to the pandemic crisis waiting for creamier times on the dancefloor. The release features Oito / Oito on a gentle scrape of some old Portuguese goodies to create a fresh batch of unique edits.

The Portuguese duo certainly brings up that drip ass acid sauce along them groovy beats and kitch vocals making you feel good dancing on your PJ’s at your favorite lockdown.

40 years after its initial release, the impossibly rare diamond-in-the-rough 45 from Pure Release is once again seeing the light of day.

Led by James Fernandez, this East LA Funk crossover is in a league of its own. It’s sunshine and feel-good vibes from top to bottom with a decidedly learned but still naive aesthetic. Fernandez stacked his band with a cast of mostly Latino local session musicians so it’s needless to say that the çrhythm section punches well above its weight for a private release such as this one.

One of the choice tracks from the album, “I’ll Know it’s Love For Sure”, met some criticism after the album’s release for its lack of a certain level of polish in the production. It was eventually re-recorded and pressed to an equally rare 7” single. This version of the hit song would go on to become the most sought after, and therefore most easily recognized version. This means, for old and new fans of Pure Release alike, that the 45 cut of this track from On the Loose might be an entirely new experience with all the same floor-filling potential.

Following the release of the single of the same name, Dutch duo Tunnelvisions return to Disco Halal with new EP ‘Gold Teeth’, out on Friday 27th November.

A three-track release, ‘Gold Teeth’ opens with an extended version of the title track, an infectiously feelgood house number, characterised by driving synths, busy percussion and catchy vocals. Next up, ‘Hyperfocus’ is a slow-burning progressive house cut that unfurls steadily across its six minutes. Closing things out, ‘Heat Wave’ harnesses an old school house vibe, characterised by deep bass and fluttering percussive elements.

Presenting a collection of stone-cold classic breakbeats and b-boy jams from the sunkissed vaults of Miami's legendary TK Disco label!

NYC in the late 70's and early 80's saw a nascent street subculture fully evolve, a movement with it's own language, art, aesthetics, dances, fashion and way of living.

What would become what is now globally known as 'hip-hop' was in its infancy, with it's own legends and history being forged on an almost daily basis across the city's Black and Hispanic neighbourhoods. Music was central to hip-hop, the DJ was king and at the hands of people like Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Grandmaster Flowers, Mean Gene, Jazzy Jay, Afrika Bambaataa, Charlie Chase and numerous other groundbreaking DJ's of the era, music took on a whole new meaning that would reverberate through popular culture for the rest of time.

The breaks - minute sections or breakdowns of a record where we get to the unadulterated groove and the band on the record cut loose - is what it was all about! Unlike the discotheque DJ's who favoured the long mixes and blends in their club scenarios, hip-hop DJ's were amassing huge collections of records that had these magical sections on them, often x 2 copies of each, so that they could elongate the best part of the record ad infinitum by cutting them up live - all killer no filler! These special on the fly mixes and edits were then unleashed in the local parks of their neighbourhoods, on gargantuan DIY sound systems for all of their friends and neighbours to party on down until the wee small hours. These breakbeat segments also gave the MC's space to address the gathered masses without their voices colliding with lavish string arrangements or vocals underneath. A clear, concise, stripped back slab of funk on which to put forth their ideas, feelings and rhymes for all to enjoy.

Collected here are some of those most infamous breakbeats, all from the TK vaults. These records were studied by these young DJ's, coveted, covered up, hunted down, whispered about in darkened corners by those who needed and obsessed over the freshest of beats. There's a good chance you will have heard these records in some form or another as they have been covered, sampled, recreated and spun in clubs across the galaxy for over 4 decades. These are the very building blocks upon which popular culture and club music have been built, and here they are all in one place for your listening enjoyment!

COLORE VIVO is a concept album with an atypical genesis: the idea was born from a sequence of images, as the soundtrack for a movie (never made) on the exploration of the uses and customs of archaic and mysterious populations. The soundscape he paints shows an extraordinary coherence in this. Bjondo is an artisan, as in the tradition of the great masters of the Italian Mondo Films, and it’s precisely to that manual knowledge, to that exploration and to those sounds that the disc is most recalled. The artist's research and his eclecticism translate into the wise use of rudimentary tools (bamboo, pieces of wood, stones, vases, necklaces and even a sort of self-made berimbau) to obtain unique and unclassifiable exotic sounds. His research on the evocative skills of primordial sounds breaks with the

narrowness of the genre and opens up to total experimentation. Each listening opens the window of imagination on other worlds. A dizzying look at the lost memory that is hidden inside each of us. A continuous (re) discovery!

Iner compiled another kind grooving music from around the world. A lot of sunny house and disco bangers.

After winning over the disco scene in the last five years, Masterworks Music has branched and launched sister label Deep Cutz. And the first release, a five-track EP from Jehan and Donnie, lives up to the name brilliantly.

After an atmospheric intro that hints at the deep, jazz-laced house masterclass to come, it's straight into business with Donnie Moustaki's 'Saturnian Beer' and 'Lady 2000' by Jehan on the A-Side.

Donnie's lead track is full of fluttering arps, dusty kicks and claps and a hazy sunset glow brought on by piano solos and soaring brass. We're not sure what a Saturnian Beer is, but we'll have a four-pack on this evidence, please. 'Lady 2000' meanwhile is a filter-disco groove monster, all live bass action, tippy-tappy percussion and deep house chords.

The B-Side keeps up the momentum on the Deep Cutz EP as Donnie Moustaki and Jehan collaborate on 'Cool Man Nazz.' With a funkier, slower tempo and chunky, driving drums, it's perfect warm-up material to get the toes tapping and the heads nodding.

The EP closes out with Donnie Moustaki's 'Rock Bottom' which goes full-on jazz, all Art Blakey drum rolls, headsnapping bass and righteous piano swirls.

Four of the strongest club mixes from the Deluxe version of PBR Streetgng’s ‘Late Night Party Line’ will make their way to their rightful vinyl home on March 15th.

The four tracks here have been hand-picked for maximum musical power and all bring something different to the floor. PBR Streetgang - Montu’ (Paul Woolford Remix) is the first, with a signature Woolford piano powering this pristine house music instrumental all the way from Leeds. Next up is a particularly percussive production from fast rising Berliner Cinthie. ‘I Left My Heart’ (Cinthie Remix) is one for Panorama Bar and Peckham floors alike.

Then ‘Money, Casino, Brass’ (Hercules & Love Affair Remix) steps up on the flip, a decidedly daring and different take from Love Affair disco legend Andy Butler. And then finally, Gerd Janson and Philip Lauer take us down an almost Green Velvet coloured house road for their peak-time TCK vocal take on ‘Everything Changes’. The Tuff City Kids remix of PBR and former Rapture vocalist Mattie Safer closes this exclusive vinyl package off in fine style.

Tilman is back again on the Shall Not Fade Seasons Series imprint. The German producer, who specialises in pumping, jazz-inflected house, brings the positivity of his personality into his music - "Untitled Scripts", his longest release yet, has the sweet sounds of summer interwoven throughout. The EP sees him moving away from sample-heavy house, although the first track "Relax Yourself" is still a sample-driven house piece that is classic Tilman. In contrast, "By All Means" beautifully showcases his abilities as an instrumentalist - sublime keys that are interspersed with singer Louisa Laos' R&B vocals. It's the first time Tilman has worked with a singer, and a standout moment in the
record, a song with potential beyond the club. "Beauty In The Dark" uses peaceful flute stabs to contrast with a real deep bassline; somewhat dreamy, but still a danceable roller. The A-side closes with "Sound Issue 84", definitely another dance tool, a tight hi-hat contrasted with dubbed out chords that hypnotise.

Tilman says "Vice Versa" is "the love song of the EP". Real classic house vibes on this one; melodic piano that feels totally alluring - something to spark a dancefloor romance. "Mercury Hill" builds into maximalism, a shimmering eclectic collection of sounds. "Say Good Bye" takes a real 90s house approach - it wouldn't be out of place in the golden Ibiza summers, and leads well into "Make You Hot". The record closing track has a sound that sums up the EP overall: grooving upbeat music built to make you smile. Digital bonus track, "Lemon Venom", is also a hidden gem... smooth, swinging chords that build up into a glimmering crescendo of plucky melody, it's a euphoric club heater.

Another rare nugget culled from West Ends incredibly influential back catalog. "There's Never Been Someone Like You" is a smoothed out soulful Disco jam and a Paradise Garage classic! Produced by the mighty Kenton Nix whose credits include working on records for Taana Gardner, Gwen McCrae and The Treacherous Three among many others and featuring the exceptional vocal talents of underground Soul singer Bobby Youngblood.

Kenton Nix was something of a prodigious production talent who worked on numerous independent and major label projects and was a good friend of Larry Levan and had the honor of hearing his rough mixes and versions through the Paradise Garage sound-system which helped shape the end result of the records he was involved in. "There's Never Been Someone Like You" has always been a popular and sought after 12" among Disco / Boogie / Funk collecting aficionados since it's release nearly 34 years ago in 1980 and continues to be an influential record now in contemporary dance music. An utterly essential Disco-groove!

This is the very first time this record has been re-issued and this pressing features both the long "dance" version and shorter 7" mixes of the track just like the original pressing from 1980. It has been re-mastered and re-pressed with the permission of and in conjunction with West End Records, New York City.

This next Toy Tonics EP takes one more step into a futuristic sound that connects Broken Beat, House & Neo Soul.
The EP was produced by Fényan. France based dancer and producer (originally from Martinique) who hooked up with Kosmo Kint.
Soul singer raised in New York and since one year part of The Toy Tonics crew in Berlin.

Fenyan & Kosmo Kint met shortly after Kosmo Kint’s first release on Toy Tonics (the „Get lost“ EP with french producer Mangabey). Together they created three magic sparkling pieces of music. A unique sound inspired by the UK Jazz sound and the broken beat scene. A great further step in the evolution of uptempo Neo Soul dancemusic.

Fényan’s rhythms are special. The groove is unique. This music makes you dance differently. No wonder as Fenyan (his real name is Kwame) is a professional dancer.
He is travelling around the world teaching dancing with his own dance company and is a judge on international dance battles. Besides dancing he has ben producing beats since the age of 19 on his MPC. Influencd by the great names of deep jazz and fusion, but also inspired by the music from his origin Martinqiue: Zouk, Biguine, Bélè… you can feel this in the programming of his beats.

Besides the MPC Fenyan tried many instruments, but mainly it’s the keybaords and the trumpet what he feels well with intuitivly.
Kosmo Kint lives in Berlin since three years. He came from NYC where he was singing in Soul bands, hanging out with musicians and also writing songs for other artists. he is one of the many artists that moved from the big apple to Berlin recently. He joined the Toy Tonics crew almost 2 years ago to work on new styles between House and Soul. Disco and R&B. In fact there is a big movemnt of international top musicians coming to the German capital. Its not just DJs in Berlin. But a huge community of ex-pad musicians working on all kind of styles. Mixing the european electronic dancefloor music with all kinds of vibes and influences. And many of these musicians find a new home on Toy Tonics records.

2099 is the debut EP of the talented Figi who is on a mission to bring Boogie back to the 21st century. The EP is a clash of time. Constant Sound offshoot Cardiology's latest boundary-blurring re-edit release comes courtesy of Alexny, an Argentinian rising star who has previously released a wealth of music on all manner of digital-only imprints. He hits the ground running with 'Everybody Get Up', sneakily adding new beats, bass and musical touches to a string-drenched old disco jam, before applying the same house-style approach to a hybrid disco/electrofunk cut on 'Get On The Floor'. For many Disco and House music producers and listeners, Leroy Burgess might be one of the most important figures and inspiration, however being clearly quite unknown to the mass. Born and raised in Harlem, his musical knowledge was picked up informally through his mother (a classically trained soprano) and the infrequent family reunion with his mom's cousin, legendary Philly soul arranger/producer Thom Bell. It resulted in a 50 years musical career, which started in the late 60s within the Black Ivory band, under the shoulder of famous producer Patrick Adams. The list of project and artists he’s contributed to whether as a singer, musician, arranger, writer or producer is then incredible: Inner Life, Dazzle, Logg, Aleem, High Frequency, Change, Universal Robot Band, Rick James, Ben E. King, Eddie Kendricks, Narada Michael Walden are just a few of them. His influence to the Disco and Boogie musical movement is quite unequaled, and in the 90s he became also part of the Garage and House movement, ollaborating with acts such as Blaze, Glenn Underground, and Cassius. Since 2016 and a special gig at the festival “Nuits Sonores” in Lyon (France), where he was invited
by MCDE, Leroy Burgess started touring Europe, backed by a band composed of musicians from the French city. He says himself that it’s part of “the best musicians he had the honor to play with live”.
In 2018 at the New Morning in Paris, Pascal Rioux from Favorite Recordings, could confirm this feeling, while he also realized knowing most of these musicians, who collaborated to project from the label such as Mr Day or The Dynamics. There was not much more needed to launch the idea of some Leroy Burgess’ new recordings with the band, reviving the 80s analog production golden-age. Today Favorite Recordings is thrilled to present Work It Out / Til I Found You, new 2 tracks single by Leroy Burgess & Saving Coco, produced and composed by The Bernard Brothers and Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart. The Bernard Brothers is a Paris/London based production duo comprised of Elliott and Nevil Bernard. Elliott (aka Seiji Ono) and Nevil (aka Koji Ono) are also involved in running London reissue label, Melodies International. Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart, is a famous French producer, who’s proven over the past 15 years, his place amongst the finest producers of groove music in all genres through various projects such as Voilaaa, Mr President, or Uptown Funk Empire to name just a few.

With the addition of Chelsey Crowley on vocals, synthesists Andrea Mantione & Giacomo Zatti found that their initial coldwave tracks, originally written for the male voice, took on an undeniable synthpop feel. While still recording these songs for the debut Exposure EP in 2019, the band leaned into this evolution and their shared love of Italo disco, beginning to write what would become the New Earth LP.

Recorded in isolation during a global pandemic, New Earth is a dark Italo record dappled with light. Recently voted” as “The best British number one from British soil” by the readers of UK newspaper “The Guardian, “West End Girls” by British duo Pet Shop Boys is an all-time synth-pop classic that comes in a 2×12” package with two mixes from legendary Dutch producer remixer Ben Liebrand, a 2020 version from UK house hero Michael Gray, and a new mix by Italian wizard Moplen. The 2 Liebrand mixes offer an acoustic variation on the 80’s synth theme, expanding on the luscious string section, providing a canvas for extensive trumpet solos. The result is the ‘Ben Liebrand “9 Course Suite”. Also provided is the ‘Ben Liebrand Nu-Disco Remix’ with a more laidback feeling featuring a funky acoustic bass line. Michael Gray adds his classy percussive beats with a more sustained feel letting the melodies take over, yet retaining the PSB charm, whilst multi track guru Moplen stays true to the original Bobby Orlando PSB production. «Fale De Mim» by Germannu, by the way, originally appeared in 1984 on the EP «Germannu» and was released in September 2020 by NOAJ as a lavish reissue.

The 4-track 7inch «Pé na Estrada» by Valéria originally came out in 1983 on the Brazilian label PPA (Paladar Produções Artisticas) and was re-released by NOAJ in November 2020.With «NOAJ Edits 01», a first absolute must-have edits package was put together. And as the title suggests, the series will continue in the following months with more highlights from the NOAJ catalog.

If you start with a tune like Keep On Movin’, more a national treasure than simply a classic, you really have to do something special with the remix. Based on Francesco Fisotti's real life experience, Lido Sirena wants to be a sound details of late 80s summer on Salento coast. The new Apulian sound, also called "Adriatic Funk", is a perfect mix between floating disco strings and solid weighty kick drums.

Dark Entries is pleased to announce a deluxe reissue of Sexual Harrassment’s 1983 opus I Need A Freak. Lynn Tolliver, DJ/Program Director at Cleveland’s WZAK, adopted the pseudonym David Payton in order to keep his musical endeavors separate from his public persona. Sexual Harrassment (misspelled deliberately) was formed as a concept band, with members selected based on appearance and choreographic skill rather than musical ability. Tolliver’s explicit lyrics focused on the central themes of desire and sexual relations. Working at a studio in Akron, he recorded an album of quirky-yet-lurid electro funk, which was released on Heat Records. Tolliver remarks, “I learned as a youngster, sex sells! The things that are rated the worst – violence, horror and sex – are the things people want to see or hear about.” I Need a Freak was a surprise hit, selling over 100,000 copies.

I Need A Freak is presented here for the first time on double LP, pressed at 45 rpm for maximum DJ-friendliness. While the album’s naughtier moments seem quaint by contemporary standards, the fusion of lo-fi funk and disaffected vocals still stuns today. On the eternal electro-raunch anthem “I Need a Freak”, minimalism serves to highlight the lasciviousness of the deadpan lyrics, which were inspired by Lourdes Figueroa, Tolliver’s girlfriend at the time. Tolliver’s whimsy shines on tracks like “If I Gave You a Party” and “K.I.S.S.I.N.G.”, which contrast nursery rhyme structures with decidedly R-rated lyrics. “Exercise Your Ass Off” lampoons the home exercise craze, but with a more-than-suggestive sexual bent. Also included are two bonus cuts, “We Want Prince” and “These Are The Things That I Like”, previously released as singles in 1984 and 1986, respectively. “We Want Prince” is both a homage to the Purple one and a gentle satire of obsessive fandom.

I Need A Freak has been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The album comes in a gatefold sleeve featuring the original artwork. Included are lyrics, photos, and liner notes by Lynn Tolliver and drummer Dale Jackson. Tolliver’s sly provacateurship is best captured by the quote: “It’s funny – without sex, mankind is dead, yet we hide the very thing we need.”

Lamont Johnson, He was the bassist and original member of the R&B band Brainstorm. As a result of his electric fretless bass work throughout the mid-1970s, he gained recognition for being the first internationally recognized electric fretless bassist in R&B. Both tracks have previously been unreleased.

Following the late night swing of Javonntte's HM002, Hardmatter uncovers another Detroit talent for their third offering: Malik Alston. In his first vinyl release in several years, the Rebirth EP explores a spiritual jazz soundscape with all of the verve of the city's trusted sound. Beside the soulful ballad of Love Changes featuring Evan on guitar, the record's lead song, I Am, focuses on Malik's signature instrumentation and live improvisation. The track is a seven minute collaboration between Craig Huckaby, Howard Wazeerud-Din II and Hardmatterís own Zapata, who complement Malik's gospel-inspired vocals, the first time he has sung on a track in four years.

“Bad Weather (STR4TA Remix)” is the latest release from future soul and electronic duo Anushka. The 12” will be released on limited 500 press DJ promo style vinyl and features the STR4TA remix, STR4TA remix instrumental and original album track. Taken from the band’s LP ‘Yemaya’ – named after the Goddess of the Sea, protector of women and the Eternal Mother in the Santeria/Yoruba religion – the original of “Bad Weather” was inspired by the life-giving essence of water, referencing the guidance and support Yemaya offers her children, helping them to grow. Transforming the track with their iconic Brit-funk style, Gilles Peterson and Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick AKA STR4TA immerse Anushka’s vocals in a dancefloor groove tinged with explorative electronic melodies and lively instrumentation. “Bad Weather (STR4TA Remix)” is thefirst exclusive remix from STR4TA following the release of their album ‘Aspects’ which saw support pour in from the likes of The Guardian, Jazz FM, Mixmag, The Independent, Echoes, BBC 6Music and Clash Magazine.

Grammy Award winner Louie Vega has the unique ability to spotlight and highlight the most essential elements of classic dance tracks and remix and recreate them to create something just as powerful for today’s audiences. Currently in the midst of putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming album, Expansions In The NYC, Louie took some extra time to gather together the original members of the seminal New York – based disco funk band Unlimited Touch and collaborate with them at Log Cabin Studio in Manhattan and his own Daddy’s Workshop Studio in New Jersey to produce the 2020 edition of “I Hear Music In The Streets.”

Unlimited Touch consists of Audrey Wheeler (lead singer), Phil Hamilton, Tony Cintron, Sandy Anderson (RIP), Stephanie James and Lenny Underwood. “I Hear Music In The Streets” was originally released on legendary imprint Prelude Records in 1981.

Growing up in the Bronx, from an early age Louie had an affinity and love for all the various musical genres that were bubbling up in New York during that era defining creative period. It is that passion that has stayed with him during a career that has brought him Grammy’s, several worldwide hit records, and a status as one of the world’s most sought after DJs. It was especially fulfilling for Louie to work with the original members of Unlimited Touch, He quickly realized that their talents were still as strong as ever as they performed musical and vocal elements from the original song, and that they had the vision to see how the song could be re-energized by having Louie add his unique production elements to this seminal tune.

Louie is in the midst of an especially prolific and productive period. In 2016 he released the Grammy nominated Louie Vega Starring….XXVIII full length album; 2018 saw the release of the widely acclaimed and chart topping NYC Disco 2 X CD and 4 X vinyl album on Nervous Records. Known universally as “The Maestro” due to the standards of excellence he maintains in his productions, DJ Performances and live appearances with his Elements of Life Band, Louie Vega is now ready to unleash another gem to add to one of the music industry’s most remarkable body of work.

Here we have a collection of raw Disco inspired cuts starting with "Just Friends" which is a serious neo soul stomper crowned with a prominent sing-a-long chorus. Whilst "Party Together" offers a relentless Boogie bass overload. Third inline comes "Your Smile" which takes the form of a sensitive Soul ballad vocal, adding in classic ascending strings and some modern House syncopation, turning in a deep journey laced with dancefloor dominating tones.
The final track "The Michigan Slide" is a real disco vibe that revisits a 300 year old Bach melody on Clavinet.

Opening track is a briliant cover version of the classic Atmosphere. Pretty bold to cover such a classic, but Finn Gold nailed it! Vinyl only. Even though we're not paladins of pure concepts, the sound we're currently looking to release usually has a raw, kinda primitive and rough around the edges nature. We're definitely not looking for the generic "soul sample meets a 4x4 beat" kind of edit. For this release we challenge 4 of our favorite Porto producers to give their unique twist to different samples and sounds of records we love. Ranging from upbeat disco rhythms to organic drums and hypnotic g funk melodies this release has it all. We truly believe this is a honest representation of part of the Porto music movement that makes us proud.

This five-track beauty kicks off with "Kili" by Vagabond Club Social, a funky fresh disco roller with an infectious bassline, dreamlike chimes and heavenly strings that go on for miles. The perfect start to this all-star release!

In at the A2 spot is "Oasis Of Luv" by Saint Paul, a juicy disco number dripping with style and pizazz. Combining a memorable vocal hook, a pulsating rhythm and a super funky bassline, Oasis Of Luv is a guaranteed crowd pleaser!

Over on the B side we get things started with "Freedom" by Hotmood & Igor Gonya, a straight up disco belter that comes in hard and fast with a heavy bassline and a pounding beat. Add in lashings of horns, guitars and vocal refrains and Freedom qualifies as a certified dance floor jam!

At the B2 in Decent Rides with "Only U", a chunky, funk laden track with a killer vocal hook and some super vibey guitar and string melodies. Add in some generous portions of sumptuous filter house style sweeps, and "Only U" is an undeniable floor filler!

Last but by no means least is Júlio Cruz with "Enjoy". This sultry, soulful number ticks all the right disco boxes, with tons of bass and strings, and a beat that won’t quit: the perfect end to an awesome release!

A loose ensemble, Liquid Canoe is the brainchild of Wolfgang Matthes, a lost Angelino who’s swapped the rush and push of a mega city for the space of the Pacific Northwest - and listening to this eight track offering, you’ll realise that space is the place. Armed with an array of vintage synths and programmed rhythms, Wolfgang sketched out a slew of inter dimensional transmissions, inspired by the commune electronics and space rock of 70s Germany and inhabited by the spirit of the boogie. Inviting friends to drop by and lend their own instrumental skill, Wolfgang quickly turned Liquid Canoe into a true collaboration. Finalised in a converted stable on Galiano Island, the LP is a perfect marriage of the electronic and organic, shimmering arps and spheric synth bass intertwined with American primitive guitar, nuanced hand percussion and glassy chimes. Renowned for his sound signature on reworks of disco/boogie tunes from the late 70's - early 80's, and his successful remixes of french pop legends like Veronique Sanson, Françoise Hardy, Sheila… it was just about time to release his own material ! The single "Love Will Bring It" is an original disco track involving the powerful South African singer Natalie Nova. "There's Never Been (No One Like You)" is a cover of the underground disco-boogie favorite, and the third track is a garage spin of the classic "Keep The Fire Burning" with the warm vocals of UK house singer Natasha Watts. Unapologetic originality, lyrical dexterity and openness

Parcels have always been a band of extreme light and shade: they’re from surf hotspot Byron Bay in Australia but they’ve been holed up in grimy nightlife utopia Berlin for years; their sweet-as-honey vocal harmonies rival the Beach Boys but they can also turn their live shows into slamming techno rave-ups. The twentysomethings stand out amid the current musical landscape: a soulful rock band that looks like it’s stepped out of a postcard from 1970s California, all flares, moustaches and shaggy hair. They’re a classic band for atypical times.

Since Crommelin, keyboardist Louie Swain, keyboardist/guitarist Patrick Hetherington, bassist Noah Hill and drummer Anatole ‘Toto’ Serret formed in 2014, fresh out of school, they’ve struck upon a singular sound, weaving together gossamer disco and exotica, soft rock and Sixties pop with a focus on uplifting grooves. Their seductive style has translated into 100,000 album sales worldwide, over 200 million streams, cross-continental tours, shows with French royalty Phoenix and Air, a US TV debut on Conan O’Brien, a Coachella slot and a debut single that was produced by none other than Daft Punk, who saw them live in Paris and ushered them into their studio.

After two EPs, 2015’s Clockscared and 2017’s Hideout (the band’s penchant for smooshing words together is a result of a broken keyboard when they submitted their first demo), Parcels’ acclaimed self-titled debut album came in 2018 and was called “timeless and devilishly fun'' in a five-star NME review. The band returns for summer 2021 with an ambitious third studio album,
Day/Night, a double record that spans impossibly catchy disco-soul, prog, pastoral folk, Laurel Canyon-era classic songwriting and cinematic strings. Made over the course of 2020, when the world was at a standstill, it’s the sound of a band growing up; five guys who’ve known each other since childhood and are finding their way together, in spite of all the major obstacles the last 18 months have thrown at them, when they were unable to return home to Australia and see their loved ones. Day/Night is huge in scope and sound, and its hopeful messages of perseverance through difficult times are a balm for these uncertain times.
