Organic Analogue may be best known for its deep-diving techno and house and star-gazing electro, but on this latest transmission it digs into its roots in 1980s club music by way of the supremely talented Croza.Florence-based Adrien F Costes makes his first solo outing here with tracks lifted from his treasure trove of home-made, boogie-influenced beats. The sounds may tap up a direct line to the 80s, but there's a distinctly modernist slant to the heads-down groove that Costes cooks up.
Italian producer Ad Bourke also makes a rare appearance to remix "Night Heat". His version plays out like a hazy dream sequence injected with a little Italo strut, rounding this record out as a celebration of the deep-seated influences that guide Organic Analogue.

John Daly is without a doubt one of the most influential artists of deep Dub-House. The Irish man's music has an unique and truly original trademark sound. With these two tracks he proves once again his exceptional quality and makes no secret about his influence, real Chicago and Detroit House in a fresh and timeless outfit with his special twist. Already championed in sets by great DJs such as Laurent Garnier and Antal to name just a few.

The first release on Misadventures imprint delivers three tracks that are sure to move you where it matters. Haners works his magic and the outcome is class.

The King Sporty reissue series continues with the lesser known, but no less worthy, Rock Attack. This first time release of the song under the King Sporty name - having previously only been released as by the vocalist in The Ex Tras, Johnny Griffin - brings in to focus the breadth of music, numerous alias and versions used by Noel Williams on his Konduko label.

When compiling the series, numerous DJs and collectors suggested that the dubby instrumental track No Wonder, found on King Sporty & The Ex Tra's sole album, Extra Funky, should be included on a loud 12" pressing. What many did not know, however, is that it had already appeared as the flip to what is a vocal version, Rock Attack.

Released under the name J Griffin, the song appeared on Konduko and its sister label Tashamba, with all the hallmarks of a King Sporty production. An incessant, reggae "picking" guitar solo is matched with freaky freestyle synth interplay, with Griffin's rap-vocal matching the rhythm and electro-funk bass stabs, working around the repeated phrasing to create a groove that could swing for days.

Recorded, as always, at Miami Sound Studios, with writing, arranging and production credits to Noel William's, the recording was the early incarnation of King Sporty & The Ex Tras. It's stripped-back version, No Wonder, sees Griffin's vocals reduced, dropping in and out of the mix with over dubbing to measure that makes the inclusion of what is affectively vocal and dub, in its rightful place as an Ex Tras song complete.

This is backed with another specially crated Discomix, this time done in fine style by discoid forefathers, Faze Action. The Lee brothers (Robin and Simon) have worked closely behind the scenes with Emotional Rescue since it's inception, with Robin often providing invaluable remastering support- from Bob Chance's Wild It's Broken (ERC001) to this King Sporty series - combined with the fact it was Simon who suggested the idea of putting Rock Attack and No Wonder together for this release. It seemed therefore, only right that as they are giving up a long held, secret play, that they should be let loose to create a long form vocal / dub reversion.

Merging the main vocal interplay of Rock Attack with the dub of No Wonder, while deceptively removing the stop / start nature of the original arrangement, as Faze Action they bring all their production experience to bare, sending the results to the echo chamber for a reinterpretation that really lets the fun happen as a true Discomix should.

Niemoc is a young trio from Zielona Góra on western border of Poland. Their debut EP came out on a Polish boutique vinyl label Father And Son Records And Tapes in 2016. A two-tracker Mikrofale (eng. microwaves) blends influences from wave and shoegaze with dancefloor oriented disco-not-disco.

The material has been first released digitally in May 2017 via another Polish imprint - Brennnessel and now is available on vinyl as a collabo release with MOST Records. For the physical release, the EP gained two versions prepared by MOST associated artists Eltron & Hatti Vatti. Eltron's 'Dysko-Miks' of Trynidad, Tobago is a straight-to-the-dancefloor approach with strengthen drum break and funky arpeggio. For Wyspy Chlodne, Eltron worked together with Hatti Vatti which resulted with a dubby hybrid.

Since the release is an unusual cooperation of two Warsaw-based labels and multiple artists, it's scheduled to hit the stores around Record Store Day.

Last autumn the long-awaited debut 'Colour' by Pete Josef saw its release on Sonar Kollektiv. Now the first 12inch with four fantastic remixes arrives (the digital release comes even with six of them). The remix by British duo LV for 'Hope' is the perfect kick-off and whets one's appetite for more. Their sensuous rework accommodates Josef's voice immaculately and lets the bassline vibrate as gracefully as a treetop in the vernal wind.
Appropriately another duo, this one from Montreal, delivers an ultra smooth remix for 'Spring At Last': The Black 80's fortify herewith their claim to be the next hot shit. Also a name to watch out for over the next few months is the one by Fabian Dikoff. Everything he learned by his mentor Andre Lodemann is translated in his work into an incredible, chameleonic vision of house music. To be heard on his remix for 'Colour' and its dub version. Another remix for 'Colour' comes all the way out of the prosperous Vancouver scene by the Potatohead People. The 'Lights Off' as well as the 'Lights On' remix are both gentle RnB with the emphasis on the snare and on the lovey-dovey synth melody. All in all, exactly the sort of remixes not only Pete Josef was wishing for, but also we as the listeners, to tune into this summer's groove.

Fireplays (also spelled Fireplais' on second single) was the moniker chosen in 1981 by italian producer Franco Pagliaccia foran instant-band project composed by him and a few other musicians.

With his residency and label night Rise at Berlin institution Watergate going from strength to strength, a busy touring schedule taking in Ibiza, Angola, Asia and the U.S, we're very pleased Hyenah still found time to get into the studio so we can present you with the next instalment; The Usuthu EP. Lead track Usuthu featuring the vocals of B'utiza opens the release in fine style with crisp, percussive beats laying the foundation for the precision synths and trademark Hyenah Afro vibes. Those who loved The Wish, Tale Of The Dirt and The Idea will love this worthy follow up! Next up is a second original entitled Phases featuring the hypnotic tones of Nonku, a much deeper affair but with no less energy and atmosphere. Repping one of the United States' oldest and most beautiful cities, St Augustine Florida, Ancient Deep are Little Bill and Dorian The Percussionist. Their music is no stranger to Soul Clap's DJ sets and after some careful A&Ring and development we are very proud to present their "Hard To Fall EP" on Soul Clap Records. Opening up the record is the title track "Hard To Fall" featuring the vocalist Cry No Mas. Its a deep and gentle rub thats smooth as butter! 'From a lost Australian electronic soul gem, to a cult classic: Shahara-Ja's 'I'm An Arabian Knight' has gained much momentum since it's 2017 reissue, so much so that the Egyptian Lover reached out to the label proclaiming he'd do a remix. The electro innovator who the original release appears to be highly inspired by seemed like a perfect fit for this sleazy late Night groover. Jocelyn Brown should need no introduction at this stage, one of the US's most respected vocalists famed for bringing the gospel edge into contemporary R&B and soul music. Brown was the voice behind the celebrated Disco and Boogie outfit Inner Life, the focus of this 'Stars of Salsoul' volume. Side 1 takes off with the Griffes' remix of Jay Airness' She Staying', all sumptuous keys, sun dappled strings and peak-time beats propelling the track ever forward. Ringard released 8 vinyl records. "Lacrima Rossa" is his first 12" outside his own label so it's a great pleasure for us to have him on board. Ringard music is deep but raw, woolly, melancholic yet emotional. Think soulful techno, steamroom slo-mo, warehouse heat and euphoric minimal. Morphine electronics at its best with amazing strings and killer frequencies like Lobster Theremin meeting Boards Of Canada in a fantasy balearic island. In french, Ringard means tacky or outdated. Neil Landstrumm , UK shapeshifter extraordinaire , returns to Germany with a new 12" ep appropriately entitled ' Munich 72' for Snork Enterprises. If you've hung around the electronic scene for long enough his dashing figure will have crossed your path at some point. Google him if you can be arsed finding out what he's done in the past 17 years. He's spent the last 5
years recording 3 x LP's for Planet Mu records in the UK which has tickled a few bass leeches in their rave caves. He also spent last weekend at the Belgian Grand Prix eating mayonnaise and watching fast cars. Munich 72 had the best design aesthetic of any olympics but unfortunately the worst massacre. The tracks on this ep are the usual mad styles referencing UK garage with Bass Clef,Chi town footwork, glamourous peacefrog reprisals and generally stuff you wont understand. Please try. From 1977 this double-header is an Eastern themed, moog driven oddity from the mysteriously monikered Kamel Oil Company. Written by the legendary Bob Azzam, Eddie Barclay (founder of Barclay Records) & Greek record company owner Antoine Flamaritis, 'Mustapha' is an exotica soaked orchestral monster with choir vocals and string arrangements that only the big boys could call in. This is a serious left-field nugget from the vaults of one of the biggest majors, one ends up thinking - 'how did this come about!'. On the flip-side we have 'Petrolo En Bruto', which is the real gem here, undoubtedly this one will appeal to fans of the far flung reaches of world music and psych, even those of you who dig the various flavours of Funk from around the globe. A truly special and unique record here, often sought after by the deepest of the crate diggers and obscure sound searchers on a promo 45, this rare EP now sees a fully legit reissue. Made in conjunction with Above Board distribution and RCA this reissue is sourced from their vaults using original materials and remastered and repressed to the highest standard for 2018 and featuring all original 1977 RCA label artwork.

Born in Baleveng, Cameroon in 1952, Momo Joseph is known more for his endeavours in acting than for his musical output, having appeared in numerous French films between 1977 and 2000, including 'L'Africain' (1983) and 'La Haine' (1995). However, his single 'Love Africa Soul', originally released in 1980, is acknowledged by many as an outstanding piece of relentless West African disco, and has recently become highly sought-after by collectors and DJs alike. Momo has lived most of his life in Paris, however has always retained a strong connection to his native Cameroon and to other fellow Cameroonian musicians such as Tala A.M. and Manu Dibango. Here we pair the original 'Love Africa Soul' with an on-point afro disco re-work of the original B side, 'Cameroun Airline', courtesy of Mukatsuku's very own Nik Weston. We hope that this much-deserved re-release helps to shine a light on Momo's career and musical genius.

For years Nathan Church has been cutting up floors in his native Bilbao. Recently the Basque man's attention has turned from the Dj booth to the studio. Under his WLDV (We Love Dolce Vita) this Iberian electronic inspiration has cast long shadows and brightened rooms with his blend of horror score intensity and disco exuberance. WLDV arrives at the Bordello with a four tracker of serious intent. For the label's 50th release, Emotional Rescue returns to the music of Woo to close a trilogy of reissue collaboration albums, in A La Luna. Following Whichever Way You Are Going (1982) and Into The Heart Of Love (1990), their opus A La Luna (1991) was the last of the bands song based albums and represents a wonderful way to close this association.

Reworked, re-ordered and remastered especially for this first time vinyl release, brothers Mark and Clive Ives again present their unique, ground-breaking and at the time, heart-wrenchingly overlooked music, that seems to fit the folk-new age-electronics of today as well, if not better, than when first released.

Across 20 plus songs Mark's guitar, clarinet and vocals are as ever drenched in Clive's mixing desk mastery. Echo and reverb shimmer as the short pieces rise and fall like the wind blowing across nighttime trees. With no song going much beyond three minutes, A La Luna flows as one piece. The unmistaken sound of Woo wraps itself around you in an essence, warmth and glow that is addictive, meditative and uplifting.

Featuring the original vocal performance of Mark's love ode, Magic In The Dark stands as a centerpiece where, as with all their albums, vocals appear at a minimum, as part of the musical journey.

The underlying somber nature of the album comes as the band ended more than a decade of recording with little critical or commercial success. The fact they did not release a full album again and moved towards a more meditation outlook was a loss, however, their recent rediscovery and the excellent releases by Drag City and Palto Flats included, has finally given the Ive's brothers not just a place in appreciation, but has shown that there really is no one like Woo. In typical fashion, Silken Moon' cannily combines musical elements from a myriad of styles - most notably Afro-disco, samba and mid-tempo Chicago house - to create a humid hybrid that defes easy categorization. There are bouncy organ riffs, undulating acid lines, clipped Afro-funk guitars, tons of tropical percussion and the chanted, carnival-friendly vocalizations of guest singer Nina Miranda.
The release comes backed with remixes from two members of the extended
Leng family: long-serving producer Felix Dickinson and Turkish rising star Ali Kuru. Dickinson sticks close to the original of Silken Moon' with a mix built around gently jacking machine drums and Earthboogie's sweaty guitar licks while Kuru takes Human Call' in an altogether more cosmic direction. Pushing the track's psychedelic TB-303 lines and tropical textures to the fore whilst
adding his own mind-altering electronics - most notably a fat new synth bassline - Kuru cleverly re-casts the track as a pulsating, late night throb-job.

Laesh another newcomer to Roots For Bloom delivers a club ready three tracker with ripples of early sneak influences and robsoul-ish vibes. All three run on a similar tip relying on samples fresh and more well known alike but all three will do the job on the floors.

Sterns Edits is a new collaboration between legendary African & Brazilian label and distributor Sterns Music and London producer and label owner Ben Gomori.

Sterns Music began life as pop-up style record shop housed in the back room of an electrical shop near Warren Street and grew to become the second biggest distributor of music from Africa outside of the continent itself. Over the years they released and distributed hundreds of artists, including household names like Salif Keita, Youssou N'Dour, Baaba Maal, Oumou Dioubate and Orchestre Baobab, building a comprehensive catalogue of music from across the region that spans some six decades. Now located inside a former bank vault underneath Warren Street station, they continue to work with a plethora of African labels, in some cases transferring master tapes to make them available digitally for the first time.

Gomori stumbled across this treasure trove of material when he discovered contemporary Gambian-born, Danish-residing singer and kora player Dawd Jobarteh's propulsive 'Sama Kebbalu' and decided he wanted to create an edit of it for his sets. He decided to see if he could license the track to make for an official release on his label Monologues Records, but soon recognised the bigger opportunity: "I was blown away when I met Robert from Sterns for the first time and he took me down into his vault. Original master reels stuffed into banana boxes, decades of vinyl, cassette tape and CD releases... history everywhere you looked. After exploring their vast catalogue and talking to Robert more, I felt like something could be done to bring some of their music and history into a new context and introduce it to new generations in the process."

Each Sterns Edits release will see Gomori - who has created dozens of much-loved edits of the likes of Marvin Gaye, Leonard Cohen, Sampha and DJ Shadow over the years - rework two tracks from the vast Sterns catalogue, melding these various styles of African music with his own house grooves to make for dancefloor ready weapons.

The intricate kora playing of Dawda Jobarteh makes for a mesmeric trip on this debut release, with 'Sama Kebbalu' ('tomorrow's elders') given a peak-time workout that makes fine use of the rousing, chanted chorus and rolling rhythm, and 'Bright Sky Over Monrovia' cut into a dub that focuses on the stunning finger-picking and passes it through heady delays.(A) A1. Having never received a full release in the USA (or any release at all in the UK), the 1979 US promo 12" (7:01 mins) of "Shining" by Venus Dodson continues to fetch considerable sums from collectors in 2017. The track was a staple Paradise Garage banger and is surely one of the finest Leroy Burgess penned tracks to come from the peak years of disco. In the interests of restoring some historical balance, Kinfine now present a remastered, limited press, replica 12". Cut with love at 45rpm to ensure a higher audio resolution (than the hard-to-find original).

Firstly we find ourselves in the company of the legendary Phyllis Hyman, an artist whose stellar career saw her perform with artists like Norman Connors, Jon Lucien, Pharoah Sanders and the fatback Band among others. 'You know how to love me' is perhaps one of Hyman's best known tracks and is taken from her successful 1979 debut LP of the same title. A swirling, floating groove produced by the criminally underrated powerhouse production duo of James Mtume and Reggie Lucas 'You know...' is a wondrous slice of Disco-Soul, mellow in some respects but in the right hands also a dance-floor roof raiser. Dim's 'Super Disco Blend' version of this classy and elegant cut respectfully touches the arrangement up in all the right places, teasing us into the groove with a wonderfully percussive and vocal led intro before giving us the full funk of the strings, the rhythm section and the simply flawless arrangements and production. This is pure soulful bliss and brings new life and dynamism to an already classic record. This is how it should be done!
On the flip side of this beautifully presented piece of wax is another underground aficionado's choice, the slick 1981 sounds of the incomparable Keni Burke's 'Let Someone Love You'. Again, working from the RCA original master tapes and studying Philly legend Joe Tarsia and NYC master mixer David Todd's studio session Dimitri has blessed us with a brand new version of this popular jam. This mix is an absolute joy for the DJ's with the drums upfront and Keni's adlibs leading us into that monumental piano break and off we go! A truly uplifting piece of music, 'Let Someone...' is a surefire winner. Again, in keeping with the Le-Edits ethos, this new mix has been created with the full understanding of this music and most importantly with love and passion. Fans of both Phyllis Hyman and Keni Burke's work will undoubtedly fall in love with these spectacular mixes and make them their own. Essential for all Disco lovers.

Diego Herrera's Suzanne Kraft alter ego has become a cause celebre of the ambient revival of the last few years. However, his early releases and remixes show a talent for beats as well as atmospherics. His cover of Andreas Dorau's Nordsee is all that, taking the Die Doraus Und Die Marinas original's whimsy production to embrace Krautrock motorik rhythms and warm vocal tones.

Accompanying this is a heartfelt version of Blue Niles' classic Heatwave. Appearing on their beautiful debut Walk Across The Rooftops, doing the song justice is a challenge. However, Minor Science rework the Japanese fused original with a respectful retake, with plink-plonk percussion and delicate vocals giving a perfect restraint alongside a touch of modern minimalism.

Starting the final side is the most club friendly cover from the tassle-haired newcomer, Sultan Shakes. After turning heads with his debut Interstellar Love, he returns by paying respect to A Guy Called Gerald's anthem via a twisted, electro-psychedelic reversion for the dance.

A left turn follows from Manilla's Eyedress with his exploratory acoustic love ode, Girls. The perfect counter song taking the Beastie Boys' original to surf's up, obscure lo-fi wanderings, fitting exactly what Covered In Gloria is all about. Respect, with a smile.

To finale is Geller & Kaya. Having appeared on DEEK's previous covers opus, Extraordinary Renditions, their pop-reggae homage to Wham's ubiquitous Rap is put through the echo chamber by respective label heads & cohorts (Bullion and Chuggy) for a cod'n'chips tinged Dub rewiring, where mixing desk becomes instrument and points to possible collaborations to come. Part 1 of the superb Diggin Disco Deep #2 comes back as a Heavyweight 180 G White Vinyl

Mosaique turn to the learned ears of Mick Wills to fill out their third release with a pair of exclusive edits that align with the German DJs distinctive take on deviant dance music. On the A side Wills edits "Ultimatum" by Russian industrial wayfarer DMT, a track dripping with sinister synth tones and rasping, brittle drums that sound great looped up across a whole side of vinyl. On the flip Wills takes the knife to "Flexion" by Jasss, the emergent Spanish artist whose wide ranging style encompasses coldwave, acid and more besides. The emotive synth strains of this track strain against the harsh, distorted drums to great effect, all filtered through that Mick Wills vision of what makes great, dark, sleazy dance music.

'Love Injection' is the latest instalment from Glitterbox Recordings, the one and only 21st century disco. Selected by label boss Simon Dunmore, the eight-track double 12' package showcases the finest producers making disco and dancefloor-ready house cuts in the here and now. Rapson, Reverendos Of Soul, BB Boogie, David Harness and Sísý Ey make up some of the contemporary contingent proving that the disco spirit is alive and well. Simon has also included respectful nods to the golden-era voices of Gwen Guthrie and CeCe Rogers.

'Love Injection' sets the disco standard while diving into contemporary dancefloor fillers. A brand new cut for the compilation, Rapson's 'Heat' is one of the standout tracks of the last six months. The Disclosure-esque house favourite has been remixed by OPOLOPO, transforming it into a fine disco cut. A compilation exclusive, Sísý Ey 'Restless' is a glittering highlight, given a thumping 4/4 injection from the Crazy P crew.

One of the classic inclusions is Gwen Guthrie 'It Should Have Been You', a garage staple perfected by Larry Levan. Simon discovered this gem when it was played by Horse Meat Disco; a memorable Glitterbox moment captured in style on 'Love Injection'. Another song broken in on the decks at a Glitterbox party, Simon first heard the sound of David Harness 'We Got It' when it was played by Louie Vega in London. The simple and hypnotic groove brings things bang up-to-date. Defining the true meaning of 'dance music' in 2018, 'Glitterbox - Love Injection' is here to move your body and your soul.

Emotional Rescue and Jamwax return to Capo Disco with the first official release of a holy grail Caribbean disco sound. Fully licensed and remastered, there is no now requirement for badly pressed rip offs. While little is known about The Crashers, all leads point to an incarnation of the revolving house' band of Glen Adams. As often the case, the floating nature of Jamaican born labels, rhythm sections naming and renaming to fit occasions was endless. Running out of his Brooklyn studio, the otherwise known Outerlimits, Capo & The Crew or even possibly Crashers, the swinging reggae meets funk grooves are apparent. Led from the desk by label owner, producer and writer, Glenroy Adams and co-created a 12' that covers bases in one release.

The Secret Squirrels continue to fiercely guard their reputation as one of the hottest edit imprints around by dropping two more seriously heavy reworks that are guaranteed to cause chaos and devastation in your discotheque.

The outdoor mix is a more summery disco groover while the ' indoor ' mix heads into more spaced out territory.

Having carved out a reputation for some of the finest cosmic house productions on labels like Omena, Dirt Crew and Quintessentials, the Lithuanian based producer delivers three new cuts on this release, which comes ably backed by a remix from Italian producer Fabrizio Mammarella.

On the title track, Alex Pletnev (Ponty Mython), goes for breezy synths and wandering melodies over a chugging mechanical beat and an FM style bassline, whilst Fabrizio Mammarella (Bear Funk/Les Disques De La Mort) toughens things up slightly on his remix, plunging into a darker sound aesthetic for a great reinterpretation of the original.

On 'Time Spiral' an unhurried groove is laced with layer upon layer of meditative synths and percussive rolls for a fat dose of eighties soundtrack vibes, whilst EP closer, 'Appreciate It While It's Not Too Late', settles down to a head-nodding pace with funky bass and key melodies and live drum samples for a real earworm of a track.

First in a series from someone you might know using obscure and sometimes not so obscure elements from days gone by...

On a chance encounter whilst producing in Nashville of all places, Zepherin was so blown away by vocalists he was using to do backing on a project, that he immediately felt inspired to record a new version of Raphael Saadiq's classic Skyy, Can You Feel Me. Originally used in his sets as an edit, Zepherin had the soulful house community going into a frenzy with hopes for its release.

Tried and tested on dance floors around the globe in his sets it's now primed and ready for release.

Hailing from Modena, playful, irreverent, Balearic heroes, Italo legends and Eurotrash pioneers, Ciao Fellini marked the 80/90s decade with several covers and bold Italo-pop singles. They won a Festival Bar, got photographed by genius Luigi Ghirri, sold more than 100.000 copies of La mia banda suona il rock', were invited to the trendiest TV shows of the time such as Discoring and Super Classifica Show and ran one of the most prestigious night clubs of the 80s in Northern Italy, the Graffio.

Optimo's prolific DJ/producer/label boss JD Twitch aka Keith McIvor has curated a compilation of early '80s synth, industrial and cold wave classics and undiscovered gems in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory, following the (Cease & Desist) DIY! (Cult Classics from the Post-Punk Era 1978-82) compilation on his own Optimo Music label, and Youth Stand Up!, a collaborative recording project featuring young musicians from Glasgow, Ghana and Belize on his Autonomous Africa imprint.
Titled So Low and set for release on 19th February 2016 on double vinyl, CD and digital download via The Vinyl Factory, with hand screen-printed artwork by Katie Shannon, the 16-track collection had its genesis in McIvor's irregular club night of the same name in his hometown of Glasgow. So Low is an occasional night at The Poetry Club in Glasgow where I play some of the music I played when I first started DJing back in 1987,' McIvor explains. At that time the audience I played to mostly loathed what I was playing and rarely danced but then shortly after, when House music arrived I found a different audience who actually liked to dance.'
In response to my wife's deep love of this music and requests from some friends who were too young to hear it in a club at the time, or indeed were not even born when most of this music was made, I was persuaded to revisit a lot of records I still loved but rarely played out, and So Low was born. It has an extremely enthusiastic audience, a joyous atmosphere and is the antithesis of what a club in Scotland playing this music nearly 30 years ago would have been like.'
The term 'cold wave' was first coined on the cover of a 1977 issue of UK music magazine Sounds featuring Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider of Kraftwerk, and later by the same magazine in an article about Siouxsie and the Banshees, with the publication proclaiming, "Listen to the cold wave roar from the '70s into the '80s". It grew to take in the icy post-punk production and futurist, apocalyptic love songs of Joy Division, The Cure, Bauhaus and more.
So Low focuses on the perhaps lesser known protagonists of the scene, such as UK/European minimalists P1/E, Colin Potter and Gerry & The Holograms, and American industrial/experimentalists including Michigan's Hunting Lodge and avant-garde San Francisco collective Tuxedomoon, as well as a number of French and Belgian acts such as Siglo XX, Front 242, Marc Verhaeghen's The Klinik and Clair Obscur. Tracks from industrial forbearers Throbbing Gristle and band members Chris Carter and Cosey Fanny Tutti, who went on to record as Chris & Cosey, and Germany's pioneering minimal wave musician John Bender are also included.
With many of his contemporaries and newer artists alike coming forward as fans of the sound, McIvor and The Vinyl Factory have enlisted XL Recordings upstart Powell and Hamburg's Helena Hauff to provide remixes for their favourite tracks on the compilation.

Doorly and Reptile Dysfunction proudly present the first of their new vinyl Think Sideways Edits series, in which the label boss will be calling in favours from A-list stars and bright young guns to release some heavy duty, clubfocussed edits and sample heavy cuts.
Since launching in late 2016, Reptile Dysfunction has been resolute in championing previously undiscovered talent alongside releases from firmly established artists.
