Dar Disku release their fourth installment of middle eastern records flipped for the dancefloor. Composed of two club-ready edits of popular music from the MENA region, the duo are building even more steam from their previous edit of the egyptian classic ‘Sahrany’ (Dar Disku 003). Played out across the world by the likes of DJ Seinfeld, Palms Trax, Hunee and more, these new edits re-imagine what life on an 80’s gulf discotheque feels like. With their last two records receiving critical acclaim from the likes of Resident Advisor (Tracks of the Year), CRACK Magazine, Vice and Esquire, the duo are set to transport you into a forgotten era once more.

Side ‘A’ features Dar Disku’s very own edit of a middle eastern classic ‘Abdel Kader’. Made famous by Rai superstars Khaled, Faudel and the late Rachid Taha, Dar Disku have flipped an alternate cover release by the North African superstar Cheb Mimoun. Taking inspirations from South African bubblegum and Egyptian G Funk, the duo’s edit layers the industry standard Yamaha DX 7 bassline along with a middle east exclusive release ‘quarter tone scale’ Roland. The track explores themes of nostalgia with the ever familiar ‘abdel kader’ but offers a fresh interpretation of what will undoubtedly re-connect listeners with their roots.

Side ‘B’ features a collaboration of two long-standing Dar Disku favourites, Dublin via Saudi Moving Still and Tjade from the Netherlands. Equally responsible for some of the biggest hits across the dance music scene in the last two months (Rush Hour chart topping ‘Koi Jaye and Sidi Mansour) the pair have collaborated to create the italo-esque edit of egyptian pop star Azza Kamal’s ‘Maadna Bkra’. The tape was originally found by Moving Still on a recent visit to his hometown and was later sampled to create the track. Azza’s iconic vocals echo throughout the track with the classic call and response found in the music from his era. Tjade’s signature drums paired with Jamal’s trademark arpeggiator bass create a dancefloor future classic. On a recent visit to the Gulf, Moving Still went on a treasure hunt through the markets of his home town. “ I hadn’t got a chance to listen to all of them but with the COVID-19 lockdow, I began to sift through my finds. The minute I heard Maadna Bukra I texted the label saying “you have no idea what I just found..”. As I got started I already visualised Tjade collaborating on it. Weirdly enough he got in touch and asked if I would be interested in working on an edit together. It’s so lovely to be able to work with someone you admire musically and lockdown shows us that you don’t have to worry about being in the same city. I always believed the two of us would end up working on a song together, and to put it out on a label I believe in and to be able to give back to the community is a wonderful privilege. “

In light of current worldwide events - the importance of togetherness, equality and diversity are more important than ever. Music is one of the tools that enable this and Dar Disku (together in agreement with Moving Still and Tjade) will be donating 50% of profits from the release directly to middle-eastern based charities.

Hailing from St Petersburg, Sasha Balykova aka Errortica was graduated from music school. Always obsessed with learning and collecting music, she’s one of the most promising artists from russian buzzying electronic scene.

On local pillar Test FM, she’s showcasing an impeccable taste and selection in her own Melomantica radio show by inviting artists from different horizons which allowed her to raise an evergrowing interest all over Europe.

By delivering sophisticated podcasts on countless platforms, Errortica revealed her mixing ability. She performed for Boiler Room Vilnius in 2019 and has been invited to Dekmantel Festival 2020, showing evidence she’s just at the edge of a brilliant career.

For BBE Music’s landmark 500th release, the label joins forces with Louie Vega, Leroy Burgess and Patrick Adams to revisit ‘Barely Breaking Even’, the iconic track after which the label is named. Coaxed into the studio together by BBE founder Peter Adarkwah, Grammy winning House music hero Louie Vega, arranger extraordinaire and New York disco royalty Patrick Adams, plus the song’s original writer (and king of boogie) Leroy Burgess soon got to work. Even given the caliber of those involved in this special session, the results are simply exceptional. Featuring live strings by The Apple Hill String Quartet arranged by Adams and Burgess, Vega’s ‘Boogie Mix’ stays faithful to the Universal Robot Band original, with potent vocal performances and a tough new groove for 2019. It was at the string recording session for the boogie version that Louie Vega unveiled his 'NYC House Mix' to the assembled musicians, at which point he and Leroy Burgess quickly arranged a brand new horn section and re-wrote the song’s melody to compliment the track’s accelerated pace. What the team emerged with is so much more than a remix- it’s a unified call-back to two golden eras; that of disco-boogie and that of New York House. The track features the song's writer Leroy Burgess and NY Disco legend Patrick Adams alongside a host of stellar musicians. Hot boogie and house versions of the song that gave BBE its name, coming straight from the Big Apple.

We are excited to welcome another friend from abroad to the catalogue; Paula Tape. Hailing from Santiago, Chile and residing in Milan, Italy, Paula reveals her passion for rhythm through two distinctive cuts. Agua Congas slinks along, driven by a thick bass lick and insistent mallet dyad. Classically dubbed out guitar and vocals air the mix out, while a saw lead slices through, opening it all up. On the flip, Playa Frenes leaps in with slamming percussion and a bass hook that'll blow your monitors, watch out! Crispy guitar solos rip in, resting for a moment, losing no momentum. Stepping back, Project Pablo was lucky enough to bend the A side stems into a lush stomper. Vocoded harmonies wash over the OG's mallet melody, and the rest just coasts along... Enjoy!

On Side A Vienna based Sam Irl opens with a jazz infused bouncy groove. "Come back" shines with its exciting musical diversity and suspense. Tijuana born Soul Of Hex alias Sebastian Vorhaus delivers a subtle rave vibe that grows into an uplifting groove.
On the b side Moff & Tarkin impresses with a subtle steady builder based on a funky baseline, fueled with floaty space sounds. Italian Clang 83 finishes in style with a deeper than deep banger.

MOTHER RECORDINGS kicks off 2020 and make big moves with youngsters YINGYANG (UK) and REN PHILLIPS. Both linking up for some serious dance floor destruction on their new two track single. The pair have collaborated to great effect recently on the likes of Jacky & Friends and Solardo s Sola imprint.


Harlem Shake is lively house with sleazy bass, big synths and a bristling sense of party and atmosphere that really pumps any club. It has slick production values and a mad lead that is full of fun.


Flashback is a track that gets you ducking and diving with its turbo bass and great female vocals. The whole thing is a really characterful and explosive cut. This is a standout EP from this duo.

Philly's home-grown edit kings Superprince drop some serious brotherly love in their first outing for RNT. From the uptempo bounce of 'Strong Feeling,' to the soulful boogie of 'Down on Bitter End' and 'Start Again,' to the chilled re-cut funk of 'Up Up To The Sky,' these 4 heaters are guaranteed to find a permanent home in any record bag!

Release info: Round up part IV marks the end of year 4 of Heist Recordings and it might be our most varied release yet with some serious Afro funk from Switzerland, electronic soul from Italy, proper old school deep house from the UK and some Dutch guys adding a bit of swing to the package. For those unfamiliar with our annual concept release: The Round Up is a release where each artist that has released this year gets remixed by another Heist artist from that same year. We put all the names in a big hat, and draw straws. The result: 6 different remixes from 6 of the most intriguing original tracks of the year, in a deluxe 180 gram 2x12 pack. Fouk had the honor to rework one of the most euphoric tracks ever to come out on Heist and certainly one of Nachtbraker's most party-oriented tracks ever: Hamdi. They flipped the original into a rhodesy afro-tinged jam filled with lovely bleeps and fx and some great work on the keys. The DS remix of Parker Madicine's Heartbreaker is just as dreamy as it is driving, making full use of their synth-cave with an ever-evolving Moog bassline and some great pads on the Arp Odyssey. Alma Negra's Blacksoul remix of Nebraska's Big Plate Chicken takes the full B side and rightly so. The African drums, chants and looped sampling the original's bleeps give a great groove, but the track really comes alive when the bassline kicks in. The second 12 gives room for Nachtbraker's Swing mix of Can't Hold it, where he lets loose a trippy, sample heavy track with a dustier ambience than your grandmother's living room. Turn it over and you'll find Parker Madicine jazzing up Afrorleans and Nebraska throwing in a classic deep house touch on his remix for Fouk.
