Early May will see Mihai Popoviciu return with his second long player in the shape of the 'Home' LP on Bondage music, comprising twelve original compositions from the Romanian artist.

Mihai Popoviciu : "The album's called "home" because it is inspired by my experiences from my home city Sibiu in Romania. Home is also the place where the album was produced, in my stripped down studio. It is where I always return to rest and chill after touring the world and the place where I feel most safe and comfortable. The artwork shows an image of the airport lane in Sibiu with surrounding hills and mountains in the back. It is a metaphoric "gate" to both leave and return home."

Romania's Mihai Popoviciu has carved out quite the career over the past decade releasing material through the likes of Highgrade, Hudd Traxx, Poker Flat and Fear of Flying. Here though we see him deliver his second full-length album and return to Bondage Music following a single on the label back in
2013.

Across the project Mihai delivers his signature dance floor focused, stripped back style with records like 'ACK', 'Sandstone Folder' and 'Tentacle Operated' showcasing the hypnotic and percussive style
Popoviciu executes so well. The project also drifts into smooth dubby realms via compositions like 'Cannon Poets' and 'Sunshine' while the likes of 'Triumph' and 'Music 999' radiantly display Mihai's proficient production abilities as he wanders into a brighter more house centric sound.

All in all Mihai Popoviciu turns in a coherent long player whilst exploring a broad range of styles, 'Focus and 'Havana' lay down a groove-led feel with subtle modulations and an unfaltering structure, while 'Data On Data', 'Paranoia' and 'Hypnosia' tip the focus over to dark and brooding territories with murky synth pads and chuggy low end tones. Once again Popoviciu has proven himself to be one of Romania's finest electronic music exports.

Ever impressing Romanian duo NTFO return to their Sintope imprint to deliver four weighty, original productions set for release on the labels vinyl series this July.

After bursting onto the scene in 2010 with the release of their first vinyl LP, NTFO have rapidly established themselves as one of Romania's top duo's amongst the nations ever expanding depth of top electronic talent. With their catalogue boasting releases on Diynamic, 20/20 Vision Editions, Gruuv, Objectivity and Bondage the pairing have caught the eyes and gained the support of key industry heavyweights and look set to continue the trend with their latest Sintope release.

'Fuel' opens the EP with an impressive arrangement of reverberating low end tones, crisp hats and snaking synth lines before 'Rush Over' switches up the aesthetic with it's offering of soft melodies, laid back grooves and shuffling drum licks. Third track 'Menduz Affair' then builds from a series of lo-fi glitches and pops, with punchy 4x4 kicks and an infectious low-slung groove line revealing a production aimed at the dancefloor. We are moving forward with new sounds this summer, and are happy to shed some light on our '4Plae Blanc' project. This series is geared towards slightly lighter vibes, and 001 will really set the tone for what is to come.

Hailing from the city of Bucharest, Nice ' N Trick have been earning their stripes over the past couple of years, which includes having works on labels such as Mulen, Heisenberg, Arupa, Baile Musik, Tzinah and many more. Their track 'Adiacent' delivers the vibrant sounds we love, brought together with tight percussion and warm soundscapes.

Another gem from Bucharest has contributed to 4PLVB001. Direkt has become a good friend of the label and we are extremely happy and proud to have him on board this release. 'Caries' is a bouncy and atmospheric track that delivers a solid analog sound - another factor we feel passionate about. No doubt this wont be the last you hear from Direkt in coming months...

Percival is also an analog head. This Detroit artist has bundles of musical knowledge and a love for many types of music. His track 'All Night' is a vocal orientated track with crisp hats and snares, and a pounding kick throughout - we love the mood this track set's at parties.

In the past few months, 4Plae founder ADMNTi and head honcho at Samani - F.eht, have formed a collective, FAT. Their remix of Percival's track sets a moodier vibe in comparison to the original, and wraps up the release nicely with evolving synths and techier sounds.

Semper Memor is back with its third instalment, presenting a split Ep between Kader Yani and DLS.

Semper Memor's fourth Ep, a timeless dance floor winner for the darker hours from Berlin based artist Uqbar (aka Solune from Arcarsenal, BCR). Uqbar merges electro and techno elements with acid lines, electronica/IDM references, and spatial aesthetics. Including EBM infused remix from Detroit stalwart Chris Mitchell.

About a year ago Nico Stojan and Acid Pauli met at the studio to record some music. While doing so they discovered their common love for sample based production. So they were basically digging into old vinyls and eventually these three tracks came along. Nothing more to say, but enjoy. ‚Call of The Valley' is the first release on the new label Ouïe: There has been a shift in this tiny piece of massive world and, like all other shifts, they are documented by those who were there. Ouie is the label to do just that, created by the people who were there, making those shifts. It began when dancers old and young and in-between, began falling in love with a new kind of space: cool-like-lemonade dance-floors and the music that worked them - a kind of electronica that blurred the genres and removed the boxes that we once knew. We have started a new project from a new part of Finish Team Records only on vinyl. For the first release we have made a 4 track E.P. with the main artists of the label: Manu P, Andrea Rubolini, Aumrec & Gabriele Orsini. First track is composed by Manu P, and is named El Torito. Is the perfect track for the summer time, with a latin tech house with a huge bass and melodic voice, perfect for the middle of the night set. The second is a track by Andrea Rubolini (The Crowd), also here a huge bass during all the track and a melodic synth that characterized the track. The third track by Aumrec (Elonove), is more techno, with lot of strange and secret minimal part and a solid and fresh kick. Gabriele Orsini also composed the fourth track (The Suspect), a techno and intense travel trough the dark techno scene. VINYL ONLY!

Polluted System is a track suitable for the main room, the energy of the kick and the bass leave no respite from start to finish as a joint of metal percussion and synths fit gradually to fill the sound spectrum of this track.

Becomes Human Machine in a few minutes, using acid and industrial sounds, conveys the idea of the change that is happening around us: people are becoming more and more machines, and this is the soundtrack of the mutation.

Unlocked Human, while remaining in acid and mechanical territories, thanks to a groove of more organic toms and hi hat still let the human element glimpse, not yet deleted by the machines, all accompanied by a relentless kick which makes it a perfect tool from the dancefloor .

No System, which give the title to the EP, ends this sequence with dreamy and futuristic atmospheres, the ruling part is still a simple but instantly recognizable acid bass, over breakbeat-oriented rhythmics.

Spanish duo Robin Orlando and Nick Hollyster open Side B with the delicious, laid-back 'Humita'. A simple and emotive bass line provides the backdrop for a smooth arpeggio to sit atop creating further layers of sonic ingenuity, while vocal phrasing from Christian Godoy contributes to create a house classic. After a long time, Rhadow and NTFO finally met in the studio again to work on the next edition of
Sintope's Slagare series. But not just another regular session... The Romanians went fully
analogue for a couple of days without phones and computers - just drum machines and
instruments. The result is Slagare Vol. 5 and comes with two tracks in a very limited vinyl only
edition of just 300 copies. So better be quick.

After long pause we come back with heavyweight VA, including tracks from label's residents Yate and Stab9, adding up nice groover from Romanian project Alsi. Finalized by rework of "Topography" by Feeleed's resident Eric.

And again! The second truelovesounds vinyl is coming from our very own artist collective VOZ with their base in Frankfurt and Offenbach City. The EP called - Last is the first release by this outstanding duo and delivers a mixture of straight linear but promising and meaningful elements combined with massive baselines that form the EP into a steady production.
Dubtil manages to create a grooving and somehow simple but beautiful interpretation of the track which rounds off the ep perfectly.

Argentina's Manuel Sahagun serves up a hypnotising three tracker with Italian producer Ivan Iacobucci on remix duties.

Based in Buenos Aires, Manuel Sahagun has been a key player in his country's electronic music scene for well over a decade now. Kick­starting his career releasing on seminal house imprint Wiggle, more recently Sahagun has appeared on Oblack, Klangkultur Schallplaten and Electronique (including collaborations with fellow Argentinian Jay West). Joining him on the release is Ivan Iacobucci, a Berlin­based producer known for appearances on Apollonia and Holic Trax.

'Latino Tool', as its name suggests, is a rhythmic production produced with DJs in mind featuring a medley of organic percussion before gradually introducing a sultry bassline and distorted chopped vox. In contrast, 'So Wet' takes things deeper with mesmerising synths and sampled crowd noises before the groove led 'Softly' combines shuffling drums with tantalising effects as warming pads ebb into the mix. Ivan Iacobucci then remixes 'Softly' ­distorting it into an otherworldly dancefloor workout filled with intricate nuances.

This episode opens with the main track Perfect Blue, which shows the direction of this EP with his punchy touch. Here, Giash's composition will drive you into several directions inside one track. It slowly goes to the transition made by that accumulation of new bleeps and sounds in order to go to the main melody that will stuck into your head.

LTGL turns the original completely inside-out, inserts heavy bass and switches themes more then you can count.
LTGL is a Jamaican-Polish hybrid beat-maker from Belgium. Originally a guitarist, he never found the band mates he was looking for, so he started producing in the summer of 2011. Flash forward a few years and he's playing abroad on a regular basis, made it to Low End Theory (Los Angeles) and played Boiler Room (twice). Taking into account that he can count The Gaslamp Killer, Flume, Ta-Ku, Joe Kay and Lefto to his early supporters and you just know you are dealing with a very promising musician.

After last month's »Busted Moniker« EP from Quarion, Retreat is thrilled to announce a new 12 courtesy of house music's most energetic duo, the incomparable Session Victim! The aptly titled »Two Man House Band EP« is the lads' first record since their 2014 magnum Opus »See You When You Get There« and perfectly transcribes the energy that Session Victim pour into their incendiary live show. Tailormade for a night out in the club or a joyous day at the festival, the »Two Man House Band EP« once again prooves that Session Victim are unstoppable in their pursuit of the ultimate groove! »Summer Games« is an ode to that most festive of seasons and could easily hold the claim of being Retreat's »biggest« track so far. Built around an Hypnotic organ loop, »SummerGames« completely blurs the lines between house, funk and soul : rolling breakbeats, catchy vocal snippets and a very groovy bassline are the core elements of this anthem that could rock any party. Yet Session Victim add a slight twist in the form of a melancholic string motive that appears in two chiseled breakdowns. It's a little reminder that summers do not last forever and that one should enjoy them while they last ... Flip the record in order to dive into the deeper realms of »Black Cream«, a more reflective track for the late hours. With its jazzy (almost broken) beat, guitar licks, rhodes pads, subtle percussion and ethereal vocals, »Black Cream« is the soundtrack to an exciting underwater trip with Matthias and Hauke at the controls. Thanks to the captains' lively drum programming, the track flows effortlessly and we're treated with many surprises along the way before a gradual rise brings us back to the surface. »Finderlohn« is a smokey downtempo workout which finds Session Victim digging deep in their collection to demonstrate their prowess in manipulating samples.

Could Ellen Allien and Thomas Muller be crowned the new dream team of tech-house In all modesty - with their current collaboration and the resulting 12" Free Nation the two long-standing label colleagues have delivered four absolutely killer tracks. The basic framework initially came about in Ellen's living room. Ultimately the tracks were completed independently of one another in Berlin and Thomas' previous home city of Paris. It is remarkable how a common starting point can lead to such different results: the Grande Dame of tech-house has her puppets dancing with no inhibitions as she mixes freaky noises with deliciously overdriven Roland SH-101 synth lines in 'Free Nation' and Jupiter 6 synth lines in Delta Zoo before launching an all-out assault on the ears with an explosive mixture of straight-up, bone-dry, old-school beats. This creates a sumptuous retro-techy sound that still throbs with the energy of the present day. Thomas also takes a very punchy approach to his edits of Free Nation and Delta Zoo. Contrary to Ellen, however, he often leaves space between the straight-up, bone-dry beats for trippy atmospherics and subtly dispersed house elements. These lend his tracks a certain laid-back elegance, but without diminishing their raw power in the slightest - without doubt four genuine floor-fillers and an extremely promising artist liaison!

production quality. The B-side comes with an NTFO remix, pushing all original elements to higher heights - a perfectly balanced track with a guaranteed dancefloor effect. Pressed onto vinyl for likeminded people and music collectors - 200 copies only.

Having made his label introduction with his remix of label newcomer Villete's "Rillia", DaRand Land gets to spread out and show off his unique brand of euphoric and uplifting deep house on his debut EP for the label, 'Discover You'. The title track is classic DaRand Land, with bright piano chords, buzzing organs and a thick Chicago house bass line. Siren-like pads fade in and out from the periphery, as electrifying percussion elements come into play. Frank & Tony take a turn and apply their signature style onto the former track, adding a chunkier kick with bright as day claps and hi-hats to propel the track through the opalescent haze draped over the melodic elements. On the flip, "Marcela's Sense" is a blissed out, head down late night affair. Cosmic pads swirl around glistening keys and repressed organ chords, as toms bounce among the steady hi-hat ride, lulling the listener into a state of euphoria. The EP closes out with the atmospheric, peak time Detroit house cut, "Souls Awash". A serpentine bass line runs the show amidst swelling pads and in-your-face kicks and percussion. As with all of his productions, the track shines in the smaller details that float in and out of focus throughout, lending the track's weightier elements an even greater sense of gravitas.

It's destination Romania for the next release on the burgeoning Infuse label with IULY.B taking the reins with his 'Harmonics EP'. 'Romance' delves deep with its subdued bass line and off kilter percussion edging the track into hazy territory.
