Here we see Will mark a new milestone in his career with his production debut via New York’s HOMAGE Records, while hotly tipped producer and DJ Desert Sound Colony steps in on remix duties, known for his material on labels such as Scissor & Thread, Me Me Me, Futureboogie and of course his own Holding Hands.

The year is 2020 and AMIT returns to AMAR with another 2 track 10 inch. Rather than bore you with an explanation of what each track does with a thesaurus led description, we simply ask you to listen and make up your own mind.

DJ Marky is really ramping up the pressure from his Innerground imprint, this time in the shape of a release from the man himself.

Launching with Should I, we get a beautifully constructed track, custom-built for summer and screaming INNERGROUND from start to finish. A leisurely intro quickly gives way to a sublime bassline littered with the kind of vocal that has become synonymous with the Brazilian marque.

Next up we have Love Break, which levels up the energy and intensity without breaking from it’s “liquid” stride. Another well-thought out production that has many, if not all, of the elements you might look for in a Drum & Bass track – liquid-tinged darkness that has the uncanny ability to not only move you, but surprise you at the same time.

“Should I/Love Break” continues DJ Marky’s tradition of creating some of the most seminal tracks in the genre and his knack for building releases drenched in summer vibes all year round.

instalment in its Blaq Tapes series. The French producer’s
Introspection EP boasts 5 cuts of modern and melodic Detroitleaning House with flashes of early Trance, talkbox Acid and

Moritz) contribute two remixes to the release; the former
jumping on the ghostly, soulful breaks of “Sumthin About Luv”
while the latter reworks “Falling Endlessly” into a grooving
110bpm roller.

Comprising producer-engineer Joel Krozer ((Clark (Warp), Smerz (XL Recordings), When Saints Go Machine (Escho)) and Brian Della Valle (singer-songwriter of Of The Valley) the Copenhagen based duo got together when Joel heard Brian recording in the studio below his. Their encounter led to a series of late-night recording sessions, together with collaborator Søren Holme, that quickly became the cornerstone of their partnership and the formation of Fluqx. Monolith is the exceptional debut album of Fluqx and offers state of the art production and highly creative Electronica tracks with that special something. The sound of Fluqx is distinct - a merging of deeply warped synthesizers, swirling textures and Brian’s affecting vocals. There is a versatile range of sounds and atmospheres across these twelve tracks - from the delicate arpeggios of ‘Carvings’ and ‘Ephemeral Objects’, to the massive drum sounds and cutting synth leads of ‘Monolith’ and ‘Hanami’. Della Valle’s warm falsetto navigates through this dynamic landscape with ease and hooks the listener in on tracks like ‘Feather’ and ‘Staring At The Sun’, whilst providing space to breathe on tracks like ‘Here‘ and ‘Golden Hour‘. Sary Moussa is an electronic musician who has been active in the Beirut underground scene since 2008. He released his first full-length album Issrar in October of 2014 under the moniker radiokvm. His latest record Imbalance, finds Moussa revisiting the soundscapes of his childhood; from the echoes of political unrest, to Greek-Catholic chants, and the quiet nights of a secluded Southern village. The album combines sound design with intricate melodic arrangements to create a choir of synthesizers and noise singing in and out of sync.
In addition to his solo work, Moussa has also composed music for theatre and dance performances, short films, and museum installations.

As 2019 winds to a close, Polish producer Satl delivers a statement of intent with hisThe North Quarter debut release on Amsterdam boutique label. Consisting of 9 tracks his “Things We Can’t See” project draws from a varied palette of influences includingJazz, R&B and Dub Techno to stunning effect.

The Rotterdam resident possesses a refinement and depth beyond his years, making him one of the leading lights in a new generation of Drum & Bass producers and on “ThingsWe Can't See”, a coming of age of sorts, he truly manages to rise above himself. With work on a follow up already underway this is just the beginning of his relationship withThe North Quarter.

Tapan are back with their first release since their debut album EUROPA. After that 2xLP emotional and epic Journey they are now showing us again their “dancier” side with two cuts “The Beast” (featuring Serbian musician Jan Nemecek) and Ghana. Both tracks are not easy to categorize. Perhaps Industrial-inspired Tribal-Trance is the closest description, and yet somehow after listening to the tracks it feels like trying to put it in “a box” just don’t do justice with the complexity of the music and its components. Both tracks are remixed by 2 current favorites of the Malka Tuti Crew - Russian duo ODOPT who deliver an out-worldly IDM monster of a remix to The Beast, and Italian-Belgian Duo Front De Cadeaux who pitches the track GHANA even slower, adding more percussive grooves, a fat bassline and a whole lot of of sexiness to the brew.

Alien Transistor and Tokyo-based label Afterhours release the vinyl-version of Volume 4 of tenniscoats' masterpiece "music exists" and therefore eventually accomplish this magic quadruple release by the Japanese experimental folk luminaries.

Tenniscoats have devoted followers allover the world, but their releases were always hard to find outside of Japan. Except for their album "Tokinouta", which saw a very limited run on vinyl, and the seminal "Two Sunsets", their collaboration with the Pastels (and a small handfull of 7"s), there were never any vinyl-releases, and also the CDs were hard to get for any-one, who doesn't speak or read japanese.

So, this is the chance to dive deep into the beautiful, unique world of the tenniscoats and their opus magnum "music exists".

VAG (Various Artists Geneva) is a DIY compilation of dance and experimental music, consisting of 22 tracks produced by various musicians from Geneva. This limited double-LP is filled with analog-synths, modded'sequencers, drum-machines and amplified instruments, resulting in a surprising collaboration which reflects the bubbling underground scene of the city. The record sleeves have been individually customised, with each one being different from the other, and come enclosed with postcards from Geneva.

"In May last year, I sent an email to a large circle of friends, dj’s and musicians, who gravitate around Bongo Joe Records, our local record store in Geneva. I wrote to them about the idea of sharing their B-sides on a various artists compilation, by delving deep into their personal home-studio produced music library. What followed was a flow of amazing tracks, raw and spontaneous. Subsequently, we all met to listen to eachothers recordings; it was a very powerful moment.

The process quickly became an 'anonymous' project, with the idea that both established and non-established musicians should all be equal, without their personal egos getting in the way. Some of the artists had never released any tracks before. The final set of tracks, which eventually made it onto the LP, were selected by three members of the group with the intention being to draw a musical landscape across all 4 sides. The mastering was done by Lad Agabekov in Gimel, Switzerland. The 500 double LPs arrived with a generic white sleeve to be designed by our friends and the general public: all the covers are unique in this sense.

One year on from the inital idea, we now have this beautiful and unpredictable compilation of various artists. It brings together a group of highly talented individuals, to enable us to discover the hidden underground scene of Geneva, with all its grit and soul. "

For many, the first traces of the Raudive Tapes were in William Burroughs fictions and articles. The fact is, these mysterious magnetic tapes, which capture the voices of the dead, and were recorded by the baltic scientist Konstantin Raudive, are not a fiction but a reality (we are not here to judge their scientific objectivity ). These tapes, as rare as Lovecraft's Necronomicon, are now in our archives.

What we can find in this record ?

1 - Two introductions by Konstantin Raudive and a large session of exemples from his archives (July 1965).
2 - Nive extracts from the Gerhard Stempnik experiments - musician of the Berlin Philharmonic and close friend of Raudive (tapes from 1980).
3 - A Raudive celebration including unpublished material by Paul D. Miller aka DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid, David Toop, Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), Calla and Carl Michael von Hausswolff.
They have all composed an exclusive piece of music based on the Raudive material. It goes from a close examination of the material itself to a more
evocative mood.

Who was Doctor Raudive ?

Dr. Konstantin Raudive, a student of Carl Jung, was a Latvian psychologist who taught at the University of Uppsala, Sweden, before devoting the last ten years of his life to electronic voice phenomenon (EVP). He published in his book Breakthrough in 1971.His early collaborator F.Jurgenson, whom he met by the very beginning of 1965, awakened Dr. Raudive's interest in EVP research. Raudive spent endless hours for the thorough study of Jurgenson's books ('Voices from Space', 1964 and 'Radio-Link with the Dead', 1967). From an overwhelming database (ranging about 72000 samples!), Raudive's mother seems to be statistically the most frequently reported contact personality. She usually addressed her son in the Latgalian dialect.

SIS003 welcomes Boston's deadliest modern wave duo Dead Husband to the SISTERS family across the murky waters of the Northern Atlantic for a host of dance-floor focused workouts.

A mixture of syncopated drum work and reverb drenched arpeggiators define Dead Husbands debut on the label across a capricious collection of tracks/music.

Doug Lee gives Facial Recognition the usual An-i treatment drawing out a monologue of emotion through the sub bass and sweet undulating use of distortion which constantly helps the track and the low end move forward, whilst electro aficionado Privacy offers up his take on the track with a rolling 4x4 composition true to his unique modus operandi, slowed down powerful.

And a remix debut for Papers, 5 years after down tooling from their white label series, they round off the record bridging the Atlantic gap with their distinctly steezey techno sound.

* Idealz EPs are few and far between, but when they arrive they are always unique. Once again, he brings an EP with a truly individual sound, and this time, its on clear orange vinyl! There is literally no one who shares Idealz's unique vision when it comes to making music, and this EP is no exception. All 4 tracks are is usual mix of drum'n'bass, hardcore, old skool and a kind of relentless wonder and experimentalism. You can never be 100% certain where a track is going to go, but you can be certain the bass will blow speakers and the journey will be marvelous. My personal favourite on the EP is "Gettin Warm" which I think is an exceptionally bold track that makes me want to leap about like a loony, but all 4 tunes are simply brilliant, with a level of style and class that makes Idealz....Idealz.

Second release from bore hole, Russian label associated with the now infamous Клуб (Kisloty Club). The release continues the label’s DIY philosophy with four trippy lo-fi cuts from an obscure Moscow artist balancing different in genres and tempos ranging from 120 to 160 BPM.

Then Again' by Orson Bramley is the second release on the Memory Box label. Orson is the founder of British electro funk pioneers Transparent Sound, one of the UK's longest running electro acts. This is his solo work under his own name. Orson has been playing some live Acid House shows at Memory Box parties and this release is the fruit born from the live show. The A side includes the original mix which is an acid electro crossover, plus a four to the floor mix and a beautiful ambient strings mix. The B side sees two remixes from acclaimed producer and Memory Box head honcho Robin Ball, who is also known for his work as Resonators on his recently re-launched Groovepressure label. The first is under his new breakbeat rave alias Robin Beats and the other under his own name which sees him take in a deeper house, techno, electro vibe more akin to his Groovepressure label.

Until Here For Years is the 11th studio album from Proem, and the first since 2010's Enough Conflict that is in the more experimental electronica style Richard Bailey is most known for.
Until Here for Years is being released just a month before the 20th anniversary of his debut album Burn Plate No. 1 and Until Here For Years has all the hallmark Proem components, that are still as prominent as they were 20 years ago.
Malfunctioning drums, the fat rounded basses (this time out doubled on fretless bass), and those heartstring pads. Oh, the pads! This is where Proem has always differed from his contemporaries. Scholarly enough for the chin scratchers and sufficiently cerebral for those that could care less how the sounds might have been conceived. It's a fine line Bailey has always walked with ease.
Every part of Until Here For Years, including the artwork, utilizes an esoterically obscured source. JSON documents, synthesizer schematics, hex values, and even SVG files are used as a basis for his creative input. In other's hands, it surely would sound like an academic exercise, but Bailey makes emotively arresting music from such abstruse sources. Until Here for Years is undoubtedly a return to form and ultimate treat (and thank you) to Proem fans the world over.

* TNO Project is widely known and respected for his heavy beats, sinister strings, and his ability to mesh dark and light combinations with perfect precision. His 2nd full Knitebreed EP continues to build on his legacy, with a strong underground vibe and deep bass lines. Like his label mates, Ant To Be and Wislov, TNO has a wonderful old skool feel, made more remarkable by the fact that TNO, at 18 years old, is really too young to be this talented. "Eradicating Deviants" tricks you into thinking a full happy anthem is about to happen before bringing the darkness, while "Oneirology" is a more uplifting slice of proper old skool that would have been perfectly at home on Homegrown Records back in the day. “Exitus Letalis” keeps to a similar vibe with a lovely traditional sound, and the whole EP is rounded off with the stunningly beautiful, if titley challenged, "Mendacium & Spem"!

Part six of Hivern Discs' Fragments compilation. While compilations tend to look backwards, 'Fragments' is far from being a retrospective. Since its launch in 2008, Hivern Discs has favoured a documentary approach, capturing the most vital and exciting sounds within its orbit at each particular moment. In keeping with the ethos of the label, this extensive compilation, comprising 29 new tracks across six 12?s, offers a panoramic glimpse of Hivern's present and gives indications as to its near future. The artists featured comprise both fresh and familiar faces; some of them have been a foundational presence since the beginning (John Talabot, Pional, Marc Pinol), others are recent acquaintances (Epsilove, Fantastic Man, Inga Mauer, Samo DJ). Together the compilation makes for a snapshot of Hivern's current identity, with a wide array of names and projects connecting the dots between the sounds, moods and ideas that continue to inspire and move the label today. Hivern was born a decade ago as a platform to celebrate a shared sensibility beyond any semblance of categorization. And that's what this collection of music is all about.

Best known for his field recordings or his work on Eliane Radigue archives, Emmanuel Holterbach reinterprets a classical opera in three short but intense pieces.

Mikkel Metal returns to Copenhagen's Echocord this May with his new mini LP 'Just Enough Light', comprising six originals from the Danish artist. Copenhagen based producer and DJ Mikkel Metal has been a beacon of light in the Danish electronic music scene and further afield for nearly two decades now, with the Dub Techno imprint from his hometown, Echocord, being the predominant home for his output, whilst also releasing material on Cologne's Kompakt, Tartelet, Semantica and Avant Roots, a telling sign of the quality embodied in his work. Here though we see Mikkel deliver a mini album concept in the shape of 'Just Enough Light' and opener 'Awake' perfectly sets the tone with emotive, dynamically unfolding atmospherics, tension building bass drones and spiraling dub chords subtly easing us into the project. 'Bregnan' then stirs in some classing Dub-Techno tropes with billowing stab sequences, lumpy subs and off beat high hats carrying the hypnotic groove for six and a half minutes. 'Jech' then strips things back to an almost beatless amalgamation of murky chords and modulating synth whirrs. Opening the flip side of the release is 'Include' which embraces a brighter feel via ethereal pad swells, jazztinged synth melodies and bumpy 909 rhythms before 'Konkin' edges back into the eerie, brooding aesthetic with bubbling echoes, broken drums and menacing bass swells at its core. 'Restore' then closes the package on a stripped-back vibe, laying focus on an ever- eveolving singular dub chord to ebb and flow around thunderous subs, kicks and bright hats.

'Hold your Colour' was originally released in July 2005 on Breakbeat Kaos and went on to gain Pendulum worldwide critical acclaim and festival headline slots. This vinyl pressing comes with some of the more club friendly tracks from the album.

If you know Dervaig is actually a small village in Scotland you begin to understand why the openingtrack of Sigward’s Balmung Beam EP sounds a bit eerie and dark. Long, long ago the Vikings came ashore at Dervaig (the word means ‘small inlet’ in Norwegian) but in the winter of 2019 Dutch producer Sigward uses it as a passage way to lead us into his new record. Balmung Beam is Sjoerd Sigward’s second EP for SoHaSo, the follow up for the well received Black Mambo-single from 2014. In the meantime Sjoerd moved from Holland to Germany, where he now resides in Berlin. This step has provided him with a cinemascope view on dance music, as his new EP clearly illustrates. Italo-esk flavors on the title track, meditative pulses on the beautiful Woodland Wells Inc and spacious Andy Stott-like tension on Jettison. DL/MS take Balmung Bean to new wave territories on their slumbering arpeggio-driven remix. You might just stick around in this small inlet.

XXX starts 2020 fresh with catalog number XXX008. A diverse EP with four original tracks by Stijn Sadée, who had a killer release on Kitjen in 2018. It’s not the first time we see Stijn Sadée releasing on XXX, but this time he delivered a proper EP. Manfredas is on remix duty on the b-side. When Stijn was playing his live set on a festival in Amsterdam Manfredas saw him play. They clicked soundwise and a remix idea was born. Artwork was made by artist Thomas Sadée in collaboration with Stijn himself. Already played and supported by massimiliano pagliara, il est vilaine, nuno dos santos, dave harvey, curses and many others.

Joy Orbison has been celebrated for finding a sound that marries elements of house, two-step, jungle, techno and dubstep. Alongside the release of the gargantuan "Hyph Mngo" (released on Hot Flush in late 2009 and has topped the end of year charts across the globe) and material on his own imprint Doldrums, notorious mixes for Radio 1 have only served to cement Joy Orbison's renown. Both ‘The Shrew’ and ‘So Derobe’ pick up where ‘Hyph Mngo’ blasted off… devilishly catchy melodies and basslines, full of feeling and soul, evolve and grow as the arrangement develops to leave you on an almighty high. Big drops, super heavy drum programming and grooves that sound like only Joy Orbison right now. There’s shades of garage, shades of funky, shades of old school R&B. Pete wears his influences on his sleeve yet re-wraps them in his own unmistakable and truly unique style. Actress’s Neu Haus refix is the perfect foil for this package.
