3024 is back with another fully loaded release bringing together an unlikely band of artists into a surprisingly coherent Various Artists EP. Label owner Martyn kicks off the show with the twisted UKG reese bass roller "Frozen Bread Snaps", followed by a nifty dnb workout by Sin, Gremlinz & Jesta called "Door of Guf". The flip features UK "hard drum" master Noire with the headzy "Ballas" and last but certainly not least there's the sonic bliss of "Dusty Glass Bubbles" by the inimitable Parris. Enjoy!

We fell in love with their album on Trilogy Tapes and after a coincidental (or not) meeting in Brussels, our 29th release and first ever live album slowly took shape. Recorded in the mythical London Cafe OTO in 2016, the outfit of Julie Normal and Olivier Demeaux explores a beautiful path of arrhythmic music, subaquatic sounds and celestial zones.

Beaming from the success of Denham Audio colab mixtape Club Glow, and Hotline smasher Anyone from London, Borai is back with another couple of Breakstep bangers. Part resurrection, part new direction, this release harks back to a nascent scene, not yet eclipsed by the half time sound we came to know as dubstep. Picking up where others left off, Borai takes the tempo range down a fresh new avenue of exploration. Higher Level Records is Borai's long overdue foray into label management alongside Henry Bainbridge (Dub Studio / HLM). Not content with simply releasing their own records, the dub plate duo will put their 15 years' experience running club nights and a cutting house into every release. Only after each track has been cut to dub and road tested at their eponymous Cosies night will they be committed to lacquer and pressed up. A record cannot wish for better provenance than this.

With the demise of the group Wire in 1980, founder members Bruce Gilbert and Graham Lewis joined forces to create Dome. With the assistance of engineer Eric Radcliffe and his Blackwing Studio Dome took the ethic of »using the studio as a compositional tool« and recorded and released three Dome albums on their own label in the space of 12 months: »Dome« (July 1980), »Dome 2« (October 1980) and »Dome 3« (October 1981). A final fourth album, »Will You Speak this World: Dome 4« was released on the Norwegian Uniton label in May 1983.

These albums represent some of the most beautifuly stark and above all timeless exercises in studio experimentation from early 1980s alternative music scene.

The 10th Snaker is straight out of Bucharest, Rumania. Eirwud Mudwasser dreams about an imaginary tropical planet from his quiet place somewhere in between. Organic yet electronic past-futuristic soundscape created from daily ideas, in combination of FM synthesizers and African instruments (i.e. Balafon) and off course with interesting samples. 'Contemporary Library Sound' --an ongoing theme of Snaker -- is expressed again in 11 distinctive songs, treated with touch of East-Europianic feeling.

Celebrated Detroit composer, producer, sound designer and ambient pioneer John Beltran keeps up a busy 2019 with an expansive new LP on Delsin, his first music on the label since his Presents Music For Machines compilation in 2014. The excellent eight tracker, pressed on 180 grams vinyl, takes you on a trip though his typically serene and beautiful world right form the off. 'Alle Kinder' floats on gentle drums with beautiful synth melodies making for a heavenly atmosphere. The journey commutes through the calming pads and glistening arpeggios of 'A Different Dream', uplifting joys of the 'Himmelszelt' with its mellifluous harmonies and achingly perfect ambiance of 'The Coming Home'. 'One of Those Mornings' washes over you like the sun through a breaking cloud and the brain cleansing, pulse soothing goodness continues though 'It's Because of Her' and the elegant Detroit techno bliss of 'Perfect In Every Way'. The final two tracks close things down with a sense of classy contentedness, subtle celebration and inner joy that Beltran conveys better than anyone.

Cathedral Pinesʼ is Joseph Lawerence Clarkʼs debut album under his maiden name.
After having quietly self released a handful of compositions in the past, The Rochester, NY native steps up on Vaknar with a compelling barrage of immersive and impactful soundscapes, created using tape looped guitars, violin and synths processed through various samplers and pedals (many of which were built through his own company, Adventure Audio).

Cathedral Pines is made up of two, 20 minute long pieces of densely interwoven ambient, synth and noise laden layers, resulting in an enthralling debut that feels compellingly versatile, cerebral and substantially in-depth.

When he signed to Hospital Records in 2004 Logistics made his mark with classic EPs like ‘Space Jam’, ‘Release The Pressure’ and ‘Wide Lens’. Now the Hospital heavyweight and connoisseur of soulful drum & bass, presents his four-track ‘Waveforms’ EP.
The first in a brand new series that takes it back to where it all began. Opening the EP is the title-track ‘Waveforms’, a warm dose of the classic Logistics sound. In the beginning of the summer of 2019, AM returns with four exotic edits and reworks to dance to on grass. Solima is a pitched down lush and spatial Afro gem that will cause instant euphoria on any dance floor, followed by a faster and uplifting African jam called Ali Baba. Both have that late 80’s synthetic vibe we dig so much.On the flip there are two tracks which are constructed upon respectively an Egyptian and a Turkish sample. Badaouiah reminds of Carl Craig’s edit of Congo Man, builds up slowly and gets highly hypnotic and deep, while the second track Mustapha rolls out a quirky rhythm pattern with a hysteric Turkish clarinet sample.

After showcasing his unique electronic output via the 'Surging Waves' compilation on Vaknar last year, Japanese native yolabmi steps up for his first solo release on the label.
Presented here is the A side of the cassette release, for which a selection of yolabmi's recent compositions have been chosen, complied and mixed by the label, resulting in a comprehensive glimpse into the artist's unconventional sonic spectrum that seems to be situated somewhere between tranquil field recordings, improvised analogue electronics and digital interference.

Yoshi Wada's Lament For The Rise And Fall Of The Elephantine Crocodile, originally released in 1982 on India Navigation, remains one of the most remarkable flowers to grow in the rarefied air of American minimalism – akin to Terry Riley's Reed Streams and Pauline Oliveros' Accordion & Voice, yet with a wild, liberated energy all of its own.

After graduating from Kyoto University of Fine Arts with a degree in sculpture, Wada moved to New York City in 1967 and quickly fell in with the community of artists known as Fluxus. In the early '70s, he began building his own instruments and writing musical compositions, studying with La Monte Young and Hindustani singer Pandit Pran Nath.

Recorded during an epic three-day session in an empty swimming pool in upstate New York, Wada's first album brings together two of the oldest drone instruments – the human voice and bagpipes – to simple and glorious effect. A visit to the Scottish Highlands spurred Wada's interest in bagpipes, which the composer integrated into these sparse, otherworldly sounds heard on Lament.

"That swimming pool was quite hallucinatory," recalls Wada. “It was another world. I felt it in terms of resonance. I slept in the pool, and whenever I moved, I woke up because of the reverberations.... The piece itself is an experiment with reeds and improvisational singing within the modal structure."

This first-time vinyl reissue is limited to 750 numbered copies. Comes with poster.

Next up in our exclusive 7-inch limited edition coloured vinyl series we’re delighted to present a seminal club classic, the mighty The House Of House backed with Let There Be House. Cherrymoon Trax were a conglomerate of many different artists over the years, with each contributing their own unique flavour to the sound. As the story goes, the resident DJ’s at the infamous Chery Moon club were tasked with creating an anthem for the club, the result was The House Of House. Amidst the deep rumbling basslines and driving beats, a raspy vocal proclaims those iconic lyrics that have resonated through many many tracks since. Rave style synths are morphed into a hypnotic, instantly recognisable hook alongside an infectious cascading arpeggio note. On the flip we find Let There Be House which also became an instant classic having been originally released around the same time as the former. A full on hard trancer with scathing synths, hypnotic alarms and powered by a pumping drum section. Another contributor to the sound of a generation that still works the floors today. This one marks the third in our 7-inch series and like its predecessors it’s a definite must have for the discerning collector.

After completing the LUV trilogy earlier this year, Coco Bryce now returns with the first installment of yet another sub series to his Myor Massiv imprint.

On New Romantic he offers up a sweet mixture of jungle techno infused 4x4 beats combined with his signature lovey dovey vibes, whereas My Blue Heaven features a more drum & bass wise approach with staccato breaks and 808 subs in true mid 90s fashion, albeit with an undeniable late 2010s aesthetic.

Jem One's second EP for Metalheadz comes hurtling into the release schedulewith 5 tracks of solid steel.

Budget Cuts: Records & Tapes is honored to present five tracks of pure bliss from Bogotá based artist Ronan. Ronan, which translates to ‘A Little Seal’ in Gaelic, is the moniker of producer and artist Robin Lohrey. Lohrey was raised on San Juan Island in Washington and studied at the New England Conservatory of Music. After graduating, Lohrey moved to Ridgewood, Queens establishing himself as the creative director the Felt Presence studio space and and the technical director of the Groovy Groovy underground party series. After releasing projects on Vanity Press and Jungle Gym under his given name, Lohrey created a new musical vision and path with the founding of the Ronan moniker and the Eternal Ocean imprint with the release of the instant cult classic “Prolongez La Magie”.

For his second release, Ronan offers an introspective 5 track EP. Recorded largely during a secluded summer spent living in a cabin in the woods on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State this selection of music spans a range of tempos and moods, creating its own unique narrative space somewhere along the hardcore continuum. This creative period marked an important transition in Ronan’s life and he found solace and meaning in the writings of psychologist and meditation teacher Tara Brach, who’s book Radical Acceptance shares the title of this EP. Her words of awakening from what she calls “The Trance of Fear” activated deep self reflection and inspired this work which represents a testament to the brave act of facing one’s self and to the joy found in accepting who we truly are.

Ross Alexander first came to our attention with Memorias Vol.1 - Bugandan Sacred Places, released back in 2017 on Sucata Tapes, it featured a mind altering mix of recorded sounds from a series of visited sites considered sacred within the Bugandan kingdom and session recordings with Ugandan musicians Albert Sempeke and the Nilotika Collective layered with his own original composition using the Yamaha DX7 and programmed FM synthesis. The result being an unique reconfiguration of new age vocabulary with East African traditional sensibilities. The tape quickly sold out and the new Volume of Memorias presented here arrives now on the mother label Discrepant, on Vinyl with an expanded sound palette appropriate to the format.

Memorias Vol.2 - High Atlas To The Sahara Desert is the logical progression of Volume 1. - based on a series of field recordings Alexander made during a trip through the High Atlas Mountains and into the Sahara Desert in 2018. The aim of the trip was to visit a gathering of nomadic musicians at an oasis close to the Algerian border. Like Memorias Vol1. the recordings made on the trip were then later processed, layered and arranged with original compositions. Where Vol1. had clear nods to New Age music this volume explores the more ambient side of 80’s Industrial sound.

One year after his first release with Agogo Records RSN returns with his band ELECTRIC QUARTET. "Victory" isan uptempo funk song with African percussion from QUILOMBO and rap vocals by Electric Quartet's MC Yinka.

Family, Fish, Shapes. These are only three of the many topics that Stefan Streck aka The Micronaut recently devoted himself to within his releases on labels such as Acker Records or Analogsoul. Always with a clear line, but never intellectualising, is how the multi-instrumentalist and producer pursues his scientific curiosity in terms of sounds. His tracks are elaborate and yet danceable. Sometimes they are composed minimally, sometimes they are utterly playful. Within just a few bars, subtle sequences transform to energetic roller coaster rides since The Micronaut loves having a game with contrasts. His newest EP on Freude am Tanzen proves this anew.
The EP contains four tracks full of references to the past in view of the future. Indeed, the samples and sounds of the British summers of love echo strongly until today, however, they sound much more like a reinvention instead of a revival in the case of The Micronaut. Since his music doesn't shy away from big gestures, but virtually seeks them out - and discovers them where melancholy meets euphoria far from rigid genre classifications. Breakbeats from Britain come upon IDM and trance, wide synth landscapes are embedded in pop. Hence, this is how The Micronaut unifies contrasts a new in each track.
A1 - Earlylate
To start a rave once again somewhere in broad acres or in abandoned tunnels. On top of that, this track, whether early or late, the arms up in the air and a riot of emotion. Air horn!
A2 - Oldnew
Shuffle, but different. Almost like Kompakt wasn't from Cologne, but from London. Similar over here, nobody is looking obliquely when the beat doesn't march straight forward four-to-the-floor. Massive groove with obstacles, might as well.
B1 - Underover
It's as if James Holden was on his way going on a short trip in England beginning of the nineties when basses still made ears and trousers tremble. This sound won't age in a hundred years - especially not when it's as fresh.
B2 - Smallbig
The bouncer with tremendous thoughtfulness. A hymn for the late hours shortly before the lights go on. In last retrospect, not thinking about tomorrow. In this moment for all eternity, for one night.

In celebration of the Liondub International labels decade in the business, Liondub proudly presents another fresh 12” featuring Bristol based Jamaican artist Blackout JA. Welcoming back one of their latest signees from a massive compilation, the gifted vibrations of Dalek One etch their grooves into the label's third vinyl outing and onto powerful stacks of speakers all over the globe. His discography is a sight to behold, supported by some of the scene's foremost figures from past to present - notably having released on Truth's as well as DJ Hatcha's imprints, Encrypted Audio, Duploc, and other quality Dubstep hubs. Ready to unload another ton of pressure, the man of the hour reveals his next three enormous aces up his boundless sleeves - game to shake up the dance.

Backed by the likes of Caspa, 'Can't Walk' advances its visceral sound design, carved out of fastidious distortion and frequency modulation. Most likely brought to you from another world, the resulting sound charge rejoices with livid, granular foley sampling and plenty of Breaks & Jungle influences - pure madness ensuing in the second return of its full might. Turning to a more intensely abysmal soundscape, 'Skincrawler' is fuelled by haunting echos and ephemeral drums. Ramping it up amidst the tape hiss, the proceeding brew of oscillations takes your head right off. Stripped down to its core and with heartfelt swing, the relentless sub-bass onslaught backing its every move - an incarnation of demonic spirits, supremely encapsulated.

Collaborating with Max Mischief on 'Sicim' - the final blow sends us backwards into vintage tape delays, embedded on a profoundly nostalgic piano melody. Eccentric drum patterns swing from one high- amplitude sine wave to another, keeping the amplification hard at work and the dance floor unwaveringly aflame.

Glasgow-based club night turned label ‘Silver Dollar Club’ collaborate with German producer wunderkind ‘DNAonDNA’ to deliver the imprint’s debut release. Featuring 4 head-spinning tracks picked freshly from the DNA vault, this is one not to miss!

Absolute carnage on this release, kicking off with a mighty bang as Triple Sickz face off against Raw Science resulting in the aptly titled 'Bruiserville'. A serene intro with rolling breaks builds up using lush, soaring pads before breaking down to the drop: chunky stabs pave the way for a wall of drums and bass to swing through like an out of control wrecking ball to completely annihilate any dancefloor......No prisoners.

Brand new signing DC-N5S from Virginia, USA comes correct with the 2004 horseman vibes of the big nasty stepper 'Emitter', causing seizures with its incessant mentasm stab and stop-start drum patterns to keep you on your toes.

Closing things off on the flip, Grief brings the pain with the pure cyberpunk robo-funk of 'Bishop'. Drawing on the classic tech-step sound of the late 90s, this one could be a soundtrack to a dark future anime short; rich in atmosphere, weighty in beats and oozing class through every bar, this is an epic piece of music rounding off a punchy, nasty slice of wax.

It’s Neu Verbotens advice to a faster apocalypse, an arsenic wish. His message in the voicemail of Infoline which will burn your ears with liquid acid. This artefact of a neo digital brain modification sends its first bio message to the doomed dancefloors of gore. Neu Verboten is transmitting sonic metadata from the interzone between the secret Lustpoderosa headquarter and the decentralized battlefields of todays resistance. While receiving information about political malware and forgotten messages of peace on earth it trys to involve new members to the resistance for the new forbidden ways of anarchist diy-life. Starting off Otomatik Muziek in 2016 as a means to release music and working together with friends, S.U.V. aka Franz Joseph Kaputt went on a long journey since then. After the brutal no-input-noise of „New Dark Age“ and excursions in the realms of dark, psychedelic folk on 2018’s „Sterben/Shifting“, he began working with synthesizers, mostly because they…synthesize. With the pragmatic approach to replace a merzbau of pedals by using synths as multi-faceted tools for live shows, Kaputt started recording, and after some fondling around, these 5 new songs emerged from a convolute of over 30 recordings.

Musically, S.U.V. is centered around darker timbres, drones of different sources, distilling harsh aesthetics from genres folk to noise (for a beginner’s guide, check out the parallel release „Nullproblem. The Life And Struggles Of Franz Joseph Kaputt in His Pursuit Of Bread, Knowledge And Freedom“, a collection of unreleased songs 2013-2019 that will wash up parallel to this release as a self-released tape). And yet, there’s a commonality within all of S.U.V.‘s records – the approach to bring together disparate elements, working on a language of its own. One can hear the thread woven through his work especially on „F65.5“, a track first recorded around 2012, which was re-recorded for this release and which features no synths at all, but fits perfectly with the other songs.

Besides these technicalities, regarding the content, „Our Complex Pleasures“ has a clear main theme. All of the songs rotate around interpersonal relationships, sexuality, gender and the diversity within. It is as well a celebration of queerness, post-romanticism and widening hegemonial discourses, as it is a meditation on limitations, fatigue and letting go. „Warm Animals“ is based on an improvisational performance where two people face each other and try to hit the same note, over and over again – a practice involving a lot of laughter, passion and exhaustion. „Bull“ and „F65.5“ are clear allusions to kink culture, while „Emotional Yoga“ and the near side-long „Compersion“ deal with themes of polyamory – with struggling to live love in a non-toxic way. „A Drug That Never Works“? – read that one for yourself.

In comparison, „Our Complex Pleasures“ is a pop album with most of its harshness buried underneath the surface. But as it is also taking a clear political stand (look into the booklet!), there’s much more to discover. It’s a reckoning with masculinity, as well as coming to terms with the fact that there isn’t one way of living in a body and loving others. And it is a clear middlefinger to the toxic traditionalism of the alt right movement.

The tape is accompanied by a mini-book, yet again and of course designed by Dicey Studios, where the complex pleasures find a very physical transfer; in the fabric as well as in the lettering, there’s a sensitivity within that even amazed ourselves when it got back from copy factory.

Adam’s first release on Holding Hands was a special one for the label. It really felt like the first time that we had a release that was properly doing the rounds. All the big dogs and cats were playing the living shit out of it and dance floors around the world were slamming’ and a jammin’ to the sound of Holding Hands.

Since then Adam has gone from strength to strength with more dynamite releases on Wex and Seven Hills, as himself and also in the duo Space Cadets with Lisene.

I knew that his return to the label where it all began had to be even bigger than the first outing and boy did he bring not just the biscuits but the whole bloody tin along for the ride.
