They've been used during DJ battles and sampled by leading producers worldwide. Now, 16 years after the latest record, 'Tackle 3' will be released! Top notch producers Eni-Less, Mike Redman and DJ Optimus created an amazing tool for turntablists and producers alike. Casting the net ever wider, Kalahari Oyster Cult have drawn in new music and a new artist for their latest release. Flora FM, a.k.a. Community Corporation a.k.a. T. Hawkins, has graced imprints such as Argot and Vanity and now debuts with Chaos Light. Trying to define the style of this sound weaver is a near impossible task, the gamut of electronics has been plundered to create this unique EP. From the aquatic hypnotics of 'Hallucinogenic Worm' and the hyperactive energy of 'Chrome Glass', Flora FM borrows from acid house, rave anthems and techno with a magpie like curiosity as he melts textures and tones like a master. Broken beats and rich xylophonic melodies coalesce in the bubbling 'Storm Cleaned' before the warm bath that is the Chicago hued 'Insist on You.' Chaos Light keeps you guessing until the very end, the erratic and frenzied reductions of beat and bass combining to form 'Inc Stop.' A youngster with the ear and ability of a seasoned veteran.

LFT003 is an introduction to the music that Jordon Alexander (Mall Grab) and long-time friend, housemate and sometimes-DJ-partner Alysha Fleiter (Nite Fleit) have worked on over the past year together. The product of swapping stems on tour, trains and at home, the ‘Moogie’ EP combines two individual and two collaborative tracks for the third release on the Looking For Trouble label.

After destroying dance floors worldwide, Nite Fleit’s “Hot Bot” finally sees the light of day at A1. With EBM-leaning atmospheric percussion and a huge pulsating bassline, this is a proven peak time club weapon.

Mall Grab’s “Reconnaissance” (A2) is another club-geared stomper with a throbbing bassline and breakbeat homage that operates deep within old-skool rave territory. Having made its mark as an unidentified dub in all of MG’s sets over the past year, “Reconnaissance” is now ready to be unleashed!

B1, “Anatomy of the Senses”, the collaborative debut from Nite Fleit and Mall Grab, is a promising introduction to future products of this fusion. With NF’s signature evolving and pulsing basslines/synthesis, and MG’s distinct drum programming/synth licks, this trance-acid-tekno 4/4 stomper is an unapologetic body-shaker.

Closing off the record, “Moogie” (B2) is the second official melding of the minds of NF + MG, an electronica-leaning electro number that feels as at home in headphones as it does on a packed dance floor.

This is the first release of ODDiscos, the newborn label representing Sao Paulos' infamous ODD event series! The various arists release showcases the who is who of the Brazilian electronic music scene.

Alis has spent over a decade exploring the intricacies of performance-oriented club music, releasing on labels like Don’t Be Afraid and Planet Mu, and becoming a staple in the Berlin and London scenes. Set for release in February, Papercuts is her Astral Plane Recordings debut, comprised of five lush, intimate tracks that are both entirely removed from a dancefloor-context, yet deeply preoccupied with groove and movement. Honed at her Sunday System nights at London’s Rye Wax, Alis’ interdisciplinary practice comes to the fore on Papercuts with vocals extending far beyond their linguistical potential into a broader, more textural realm. Songs like “Status” and “BCC: me” walk the line of sonority and dissonance, nearing the precipice of abstraction without falling into the abyss. “Papercuts” and “Water” on the other hand offer a more concise narrative vision, proffering a version of hookwriting that fluctuates between meditative and commanding.

Breakage continues his excellent run of releases on his own label with the Liff Up EP. The fourth release showcases the different shades within the current Index aesthetic, confidently showing you can recontextualise definitive jungle and drum & bass sound palettes by avoiding throwback cliches and keeping to a consistently high production value. The label has been a runaway success for Breakage, a place where he can make and release the sound closest to his heart and the results have shown that this is the perfect place for the storied producer.

After bursting on to the scene in 2017 with the dub techno stomper ‘Zulu Blues’ on Navy Cut records, Melbourne based producers Pugilist and Mystik collaborate once again, this time around with 3 tracks on Modern Hypnosis.

The A side ‘Sabu’; a unique blend of polyrhythmic Latin inspired percussion and chanting, complemented with a rolling bass line and dreamy synthesised chord progression; is a genre blending trip, sitting at 135bpm, capable of taking a set in many directions.

On the flip side, two sophistically crafted Dub-Step pieces. 'Misty in Roots’, taken from the vaults after hypnotising dances in Melbourne on dub plate for the last 3 years. Minimal, meditative, eyes down music.

'2 Steps Backwards’ (available vinyl only) is an energetic 140bpm piece. Nostalgic roots inspired 'Dub-step of old’ is infused with creative oscillating synthesis, musicality, and post modern dubbing techniques. A subtle bass line switch up on the second drop guarantees satisfaction.

Hot out of Lisbon’s ghetto sprawl, 19 year old Puto Tito breaks thru on Príncipe with 20 tracks
produced when he was barely into his teens, all salvaged from an old Soundcloud account and
newly remastered for the dance.
The sound of ‘Carregando a Vida Atrás das Costas’ is patently influenced by Tito’s Angolan heritage
and faithfully employs the popular slow Tarraxho and tougher Kuduro rhythm styles. Yet, like the
best of Príncipe’s releases, it’s the way he injects a playful, weirdo character and uncompromising,
psychedelic vision to his trax that sets Tito’s music apart form the crowd, whilst being very much
connected to it.
With a direct fervour and naturally experimental quality to his productions, the album scales from
drowsy, red-eyed, to brightly coloured downbeats on one hand, while charging into jagged and
nagging uptempo styles on the other hand. But whichever way he goes, it’s always with an off-the-
cuff flair and rhythm-lead suss that works the dance to its best.
The 2LP highlights the full spectrum of Puto Tito’s early remit, diving in with the darkside drone
and rasping rhythm of ‘Noite Magica’, to swerve from the celebratory, drop-top cruise of ‘Mestre
Das Artes’ thru to wickedly screwed Tarraxho in ‘Malucao’ and the deadpan drag of ‘1 2 3’, while
he can hardly suppress his brilliant, weirdo tendencies in the zig-zagging arps of ‘C L Prod’, the
heat-warped funk of ‘OIHo JoOnAe’, and the heatsick, syrupy pressure of ‘Locura Tutal’. Further, the
digital bonuses extend the wigged-out fun in seven short, sharp shots, slipping farther down the
rabbit hole into a bittersweet beatless flex on ‘Melodia daquelas’ alongside the hypnotic uptempo
styles of ‘ABuzaNtesS’.
Tito’s arguably and understandably naif approach speaks to an ideal of dance music as punkish,
fresh and direct, rather than overworked and generic. It’s an approach that, in the past, has
yielded some of the finest underground music, from the UK’s early ‘90s hardcore and jungle, to
South Africa’s Gqom scene, Chicagoan footwork and the Singeli sound of Dar-Es-Salaam. More
specifically, its possible to place Puto Tito in the same dare-to-be-different, bedroom producer
category of grimy Kuduro, Batida and Afrohouse as young heroes Nídia or P.Adrix, as ‘Carregando
a Vida Atrás das Costas’ vividly demonstrates.

Bristol based Run Tingz Recordings bring the fire with a limited edition 12” vinyl featuring some of their best digital releases from the last 18 months.

Not only does the project feature tracks from leading Jungle producers Bladerunner and the Serial Killaz, it also features some heavyweight material from the Run Tingz Cru themselves, as well as two of the scenes more recent additions DJ Hybrid and Brian Brainstorm.

No Run Tingz wax would be complete without some serious vocal talent and the release does certainly not disappoint on that front. The late and sorely missed Tenor Fly makes an appearance alongside his brother in arms Top Cat. The Bristol contingent is in full effect too with Da Fuchaman, Frilla and the label’s original Ragga vocalist Blackout J.A on mic duties.

Long overdue, this 6 track monster provides the Jungle vinyl heads with some much needed dancefloor ammunition. Run it rude boys.

FRANK BRETSCHNEIDER, BÉRANGÈRE MAXIMIN, JASMINE GUFFOND, PHONOSPHERE and KAMMERFLIMMER KOLLEKTIEF celebrate ERNSTALBRECHT STIEBLER's 85th birthday with exclusive reworks of compositions by the German miminalist composer.

ERNSTALBRECHT STIEBLER (born march 29th1934)is one of the first German composers involved with minimalism and ranks among the pioneers of reductive, repetitive, sound-oriented music. Although honored with several prizes (e.g. the"Bach-Preis der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg"), up to the current day only true connoisseurs of contemporary music are familiar with his oeuvre. On the occasion of his 85thanniversary this year, KARLRECORDS launches a series of albums with original pieces by STIEBLER who besides his compositional workserved as director for new music at Hessischer Rundfunk for over 25 years (where he supervised recordings of MORTON FELDMAN, JOHN CAGE, ALVIN LUCIER, GIACINTO SCELSI a.o.) and publishednumerous essays inMusik-Konzepte,MusikTexteand other music journals. The new STIEBLER series, however, kicks off with "Reworks" – five artists from different musical backgrounds present their approach to and understanding of STIEBLER's minimalist aesthetics for which he cites"sonority, rhythm, and duration" as his three principal compositional concerns.

With recent releases on Opal Tapes or Stone Tapes (together with Chafik Chennouf) as well as various remixes and single contributions still in the pipeline, Katsunori Sawa's schedule is already quite busy for this year.
Since he debuted under his current moniker on The Weevil Neighbourhood in 2013, honing his skills over the years as a solo producer as well as in collaboration projects like Steven Porter (with Yuji Kondo) or Bokeh (with Anthone), it's fair to say that the Kyoto based artist already left a lasting imprint on contemporary Industrial Techno and the darker side of Dub. Katsunori Sawa is a name to remember.

Lefhanded Fuqs is the second of Bjarki triptych of LP's to be released this year. Follow the stunning '' released in June this year, Lefhanded Fuqs and Æ are being released over the coming months and represent a snapshot of his archive, selected by Nina Kraviz for Trip. The tracks were produced months ago, years ago, or in the case of the last track just a couple of weeks ago. What began with 30 tracks are now 41. The three LPs aren't albums in the traditional sense - the concept being to release the contents of his burgeoning hard drives. The music might fit together like an album, but Bjarki doesn't see it that way. It's essentially an archive that sounds like an album but none of the music was made with this in mind.Lefhanded Fugs is released this September to feverish anticipation. Whilst naming one of the tracks that he made with a left hand for the LP, Bjarki was so left-handed that he completely misspelled it. But in honour of all the left-handed people making mistakes because of tools made only for right-handed people, he decided to keep it. The LP contains the more experimental material from the archive, including one the first film scores he produced several years ago for a story he wrote himself.
Bjarki is from Iceland. Born and raised. Despite the fact that Bjarki is known for making extremely powerful dance floor tracks he doesn't seem to belong to any particular genre. Something this triptych of LPs demonstrates very well. His music is at times cinematic and there's a story behind each track. Bjarki's music always has something to do with him personally, but he'd rather the listener lose themselves in the music than pay much attention to the man behind them. Either on a record or to one of his ever evolving live sets.

"pootek" - Paul (Solpara) and I laid down the majority of this track one November night in Berlin. We lived in the same dorm in university nearly 10 years ago and bonded over weird electronic music. We hadn't seen each other in a while and had never made music together. We got so rowdy making this my neighbour who I had never seen before came up to complain we were being too loud.

"whendialupbecomeform" - I was thinking a lot about dial-up modems, especially after I heard a Lana Del Rey song that featured that sort of sound in the background, whether intentionally or not. I woke up in the middle of the night and laid down the main arrangement in a couple of hours. I later added some vocals, random sounds from freesound.org, and what might be described as "dreamy pads."

"dosheepdreamofandroidelectrics" - I don't think the song has much to do with Philip K. Dick. I wanted to make something that someone could introspectively zone out to, maybe under the influence of a plant, either at home or at the club.

Coco Bryce steps up for LORE 006, setting the vibe instantly with the effortlessly anthemic tones of ‘Come 2 U’. Subdued chords and etheric vocals are draped over playful breaks and 808s in deadly style, one of those rare tracks that will lift any dancefloor throughout the night! Dead Man’s Chest makes an appearance on ‘True Rebellion’ fusing ruffcut sample choppage with Coco’s riffs & melodies to roll out a hazy recollection of the raves of yesteryear.

Side B continues the theme with ‘Beats Like This’, a neon saturated breakbeat workout of whirling melodies, hardcore riffs & b-boy vocal chops. ‘Like Normal Death’ revisits Yaïr’s instrumental hiphop roots, signing off the EP with soaring pads, heavenly vox and a laid back crunch.

Cosmic Bridge welcomes back Margari’s Kid for his second EP "We Are Ghosts Now".

"We Are Ghosts Now" follows 2017 sellout label debut "Init 1" and two years on and now living in Bristol, Spanish producer José María Moya Sánchez has upped the ante further. Developed, deep and immersive; his unique 170bpm seekers music will continue to draw references to Burial and Instra:Mental / dBridge's Autonomic Drum & Bass but we'll pass you over to label head Om Unit to give you the full low down.

Om Unit - "Across the microcosms of Drum & Bass off shoots there are many sound-a-likes clinging to cliche'd references and rigid tropes; This only leads to a stale, repetitive and self referential culture and is why Margari's Kid supersedes his peers. Standing alone he creates deceptively beautiful and human tracks that while they feel simple, are in fact intricately layered with detail and emotion. These tracks are testament to the rich rewards achieved when a person injects a sense of real humanity into the often overly-technical domain of minimalism. As Margari's Kid, José María Moya Sánchez is is almost entirely leaning out of the pre-existing sphere of Drum & Bass and dancing in the rain on his own. This could be the beginning of something very special, and I think you should really pay attention."

We Are Ghosts Now is released 10th May 2019 on Cosmic Bridge Records on 12" vinyl and digital formats and features a remix from Label mate Crypticz and artwork from Studio Tape Echo.

Marvin Jupiter is an 18 year old artist who mainly makes hip-hop music, using bass lines as rhythms more associated with funk. He uses and creates the sound of the modern day interpretation of trap adding his own personal twist.

'Reach' is a rendition of the typical "house" genre including rhythms sampled from South American cultures, using current sounds from the "trap genre" even having a small section of a "trap/hip-hop" beat towards the end of the song.

Fresh from the Tokyo studio of Balearic wizard Max Essa, comes Barkhan Dunes EP; a collection of exquisite, chilled-out loveliness.

Opening track The Price You Pay (For Loving That Way) warns of the dangers of careless love affairs. A veritable beach-disco classic in the making; warm, expressive synth rhythms and beautiful clean guitar lines provide an irresistible urge to climb on deck and let your body move. Next up, Kites at Nemoto Beach caresses your soul with blissful shimmering guitar and synths, before some David Axelrod-esque choral vocals carry you across the oceans to a new place.

Finally, Sundowning is a sublime slice of low-slung, poolside AOR. As the golden-red sun slides towards the horizon, a bittersweet dubby guitar refrain hints at past troubles, but also carries you forward to an optimistic future.

001RAIN features ‘acecloud,’ a wavy 808 based solo track by Samba and ‘cookies,’a collaboration from Samba and Argo, which starts off as a sample based lo-fi beat which switches up heavily midway.

Samba, with releases on Division, System, DDD, Encrypted and more, has had his interpretation of the 140 sound supported across the dance music world from the likes of Noisia, Mala, Om Unit, Truth, Alix Perez, Commodo and Kahn. With his new label, 26.RAIN, Sam wants to put out music that has feeling, instead of sticking to a single sound or genre.

Argo, Parisian born and bred producer and photographer, writes a combination of instantly recognisable Hip Hop and bass flavoured beats. His two most recent outings, a ‘Lo-Fi Hip Hop’ EP on ‘Yellow Flower’ and a, now sold-out, trap flavoured release on ‘Encrypted Audio’. With support from most of the ‘who’s who’ in the underground dubstep scene he is now drawing attention from a host of MC’s and rappers across Parisian Hip Hop.

Imagination and reality, science and humanity: SPIME.IM weave their audiovisual tales from the ethereal textures that shape our worlds. Their album "Exaland" synthesizes reality by combining human expression with technological potentialities in an infinitely changeable virtual world. The seven tracks are defined by razor-like sounds, crystal textures and digital overload, captured in those weightless seconds on a parabolic flight. Just as SPIME.IM's live performances, this album is a temporarily linear journey through a narrative space shaped by psychedelic landscapes, synthetic colors, mutating objects and transient life-forms.

SPIME.IM was born as a word pun between the concept theorized by Bruce Sterling - the spime for the note, an object that can be traced through space and time for the duration of its existence - and the contraction of English "I am". If the Being is therefore the object of the intertwining between the real and the virtual, then it becomes possible to create new imaginaries that turn into immersive environments and narrative spaces in which artificial and natural, science and humanity, imagination and reality interpenetrate, giving life to new boundaries to be explored, to experience the own consciousness and what, while invisible to our eyes, surrounds and influences us.

Active in Los Angeles’ 1980-1986 underground music scene, John Lafia is best known for the hypnotic album Prayers, released through Barry Craig’s influential, cassette-only label Trance Port Tapes. "Life Is Short", "A Promise", “Dream", “Hidden Things", "Spaghetti Western", and "Escape" come from that release.

This compilation also features tracks from subsequent Trance Port releases: LA Mantra 2 ’s "Queen Of The Nile" and Phantom Takes’ "The Moth". John’s “Odyssey Girls” appeared on the seminal 1983 spoken word LP, English As A Second Language. “The Confession,” a collaboration with legendary producer Ethan James, was released on 1986’s LP, Voices From North America. While recording this music, Hollywood-based John also dreamt of making his own films.

To support himself, he intermittently crewed on low-budget movies, including fellow UCLA Film School alumni, Alex Cox’s infamous Repo Man. Cinematic influence comes to the fore in titles such as, “Spaghetti Western”, “Queen Of The Nile”, “Escape”, and “Hidden Things”. Working alone endlessly in his home studio, John used the recording environment as a launching pad for exploring his uncensored psyche’s furthest dimensions. Hours of repetitive rhythms often transported him into trance-like states.

Tracks “Propaganda” and “Art Of The Jungle” exemplify this technique. Others, “4AM”, “Doubt”, and “Montgomery Park”, are miniature psychodramas (replete with three-act structures). Songs "Life Is Short", and "Dream" grapple with life’s fragile and unknowable essence. "The Moth", "Fourth Of July", and "SOS", are sonic journeys into trance-like repetition.

This intensely personal music never intended to "find" an audience; it was a means in and of itself. Its decades-later rebirth in this compilation is a joyous surprise.

Originally released on Polychrome Sounds, "Elisabeta, the remixes" features a remaster of the original by Karpov not Kasparov and three truly unique and magnificent remixes.

The first one is Carrot Green, who gave the original the Brazilian Ritmo-treatment, with extra acid on top for a spicy touch. On the second remix, Belgian mastermind Strapontin created a smooth grooving tension-builder, slow rolling to a deep and beautiful introverted climax. Lastly, Pletnev took the atmosphere of the original and gave it a trippy ethnic-break beat twist, as only the Vilnius producer can do so well.

Contemporary house merged with space-age jazz & broken beat from Copenhagen newcomer Nejrup on debut release MANDA backed by a uniquely off-kilter remix from London soul stalwart K15 (Eglo / Wild Oats)

MANDA is a selection of intricate compositions for the dancefloor with a jazz centered approach to combining dance grooves with modular soundscapes & live instrumentation.

For Nejrup, a self-learned synthhacker, pianist and producer from Copenhagen, his debut MANDA is a result of years of experimentation and never-ending practice and noodling on his Fender Rhodes & homebuilt synth collection. Delivering a compositional complexity influenced by Radiohead and Floating Points, while letting his tunes simmer with airy synths and improvised live instrumentation combined with a love for depthful harmonies.

K15 backs the release with a soothing, heavily syncopated remix, as only he could do it. The Londoner, whose soulful touch and ear for melody has earned him high status in the jazz encompassing house- and broken beat circuit, through Kyle Hall's 'Wild Oats' and Alexander Nut's 'Eglo Records' and as center of the Culross Close outfit.

Emotional Rescue announces the second EP of music from one of the label's favourites as part of a non-defined series where two of their (un)classic songs are remastered, reappraised and reinterpreted with new versions by a contemporary artist for reinterpretation today.

Thomas Leer is a respected and revered musician in both experimental and electronic circles. Having moved from Scotland to London in the late 70s, he moved away from playing in punk based bands, to debut his self-financed 'Private Planes' 7" in 1978, before releasing the cult-album 'The Bridge', with Robert Rental, the following year.

Signing to Cherry Red, he released the heralded '4 Movements' in 1981 and followed with 'All About You' in 1982, and it is from these 2 EPs that this release is sourced. The release starts with Saving Grace from the latter, a long famous "Cosmic classic"; it's mid-tempo, spacey, lifting repetition is the perfect soundtrack for those Baldelli trips straight to the stars.

This is backed with Tight As A Drum, a quintessential Leer production, where Teutonic drums is overlaid with sequencers and synth tones to elevate the song to some kind of disorientating outer-dimensional dub, while his lucid, spoken word vocals instill degradation and reinvention.

Asking Bullion to offer his own take on these two songs was the perfect pairing. A revered artist in his own time, the warmth and depth of his versions takes the originals to his own inner world; sampling, rewiring, reprogramming, resigning and replaying. An EP for the floor, the head and the heart.

This edition features four, yes FOUR new members to our family, ON side A we welcome fresh new talent in the guis of Daif , real name Antonin Hifda, hails from France and is the head honcho at the great Luminaere Records, Dj's all over and has had releases on many labels,an amazing talent who we look forward to working with more. Ascot/WW, real name Matteo Pasini , comes from Milan Italy, and has played clubs such as Plastic,Rocket and the Dude Club. He has had releases on Ciao Records, and definitely a great addition to the Tone dropout family, and of course our main man Dawl , who needs no introduction,contributes to make up the TDO side.

Then side B , we welcome Alphonse and Jamie Blanco from LHT as well as many other fine labels. Alphonse, whose real name i am not allowed to tell you, has had releases aon several labels including hypercolour and class wrecks and dj's all over the world, currently been doing some gigs with sween - head honcho of Tone DropOut Records, at Houghton festival and in Croatia in 2019 and host parties called Dream Therapy, in London. Another great addition to our family. Then we have Jamie Blanco another real talent, who has been on the scene a long time with multiple releases and several guises with other labels and partners. Living in Melbourne, Australia at present, which shows how our sound has stretched across the world .

Track 1 - DAWL - Nebulon - Dawl kicks off this E.P with a Bleep tactic , bass driven break beat banger. typical dawl style now, that we all love and has made him such a star, at Tone Dropout Records.After the bleeps dawl adds some stabby warehouse synths , then kicks the driving bass back in with the breaks and bleeps, and a cheeky little sample from some obscure cartoon. not to be named ha ha . A real banger , in dawl tradition.

Track 2 - Daif - Soberman - then goes our first top gun, Daif comes at ya with a mesmerising bass line that sets the tone for this dance floor filler. Then come the bleeps and the strings in and out , highlighted by a soaring break beat ,and fat basslines . this man is hot talent , watch out .

Track 3 - Ascot/WW - Fifa98 - Here we go top gun number two, our new secret weapon Ascot/WW, offers ya a breakbeat and old rave synth , before breaking down with a rewind into a detroit bassline and haunting strings and bleeps, a real journey, and very cleverly produced another dance floor filler, and a man to watch out for.

Track 1 - Alphonse - Direct Transient - Alphonse kicks off with the sounds of the rain forsest , quickly backed up by a soaring james brown sampled break beat a real stomper, and some sweet strings, before banging into an amazing acid line with james brown stab rolling through.Ever changing ,with a great breakdown, really showing off his production skills.

A real rolla, with amazing beats and an acid line to kill for ha ha . Great work from this established talent.

Track 2 - Jamie Blanco - Acid Damage - Here the one and only Jamie Blanco gives us a straight up no messing in ya face acid banger. What more can i say, wicked 909 beats , big bass line and of course the acid going in and out up and down, ever changing and moving ,handclaps the lot, soaring high hats and snares , here we go .ACIEEEEEEEEED.

Track 3 - Bonus Tones Breaks 3 - Tones Breaks 3 carries on our new tradition of a little 3 min track on each ep, lots of samples and fun.

Tones 3 , kicks off with lots of scratching and a fierce break beat , and 'GO' sample , before changing with a bubbling bassline, and ripping break beat , then the inevitable bleeps and four four over breaks , this 3 mins of pure break beat chaos, just how we love it .
