Total Freedom has produced the new vinyl series 'ANTHEM' in collaboration with; The Vinyl Factory, DIS Magazine and the 9th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art. The series contains sets of very unlikely collaborations between artists and musicians. Welcome the first; 'Nothing Forever' by Fatima Al Qadiri, Hito Steyerl and Juliana Huxtable.
The first of the three creatives brought together by Total Freedom is musician and visual artist FATIMA AL QADIRI. Al Qadiri is a Kuwaiti music producer and artist. She has released music as a solo artist on Tri Angle, UNO, Fade to Mind, Hyperdub and as a member of Future Brown on Warp. Al Qadiri is also a member of the Gulf-based collective GCC, whose work has been exhibited at MoMA PS1 and others.
Joining Fatima on the project is award-winning, Berlin-based artist and writer, HITO STEYERL whom is one of the most critically acclaimed artists working in the field of video today. Steyerl's work focuses on contemporary issues such as feminism and militarisation, as well as the mass proliferation and dissemination of images and knowledge brought on by digital technologies.
JULIANA HUXTABLE, the third creative involved in 'Nothing Forever', is an American poet, artist, and DJ living in New York. Huxtable is co-founder of the queer party in New York City called #ShockvalueNYC and is a member of the House of Ladosha.
'Nothing Forever' is now available to pre-order now and will be released here and on site at the 9th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art and The Store, Berlin at the end of the month.

Giggs is set to release his new album, Landlord, on 5th August on SN1 Records. Album guests include Stormzy, Casisdead, Kyze, Dubz and Donae'o among others, and the lead single, Whippin' Excursion, is getting its premiere play as Zane Lowe's Hottest Record Thursday 21st July on Beats1.Whilst Landlord is Giggs' first album since 2013, the South London rapper has maintained a healthy profile in recent months thanks to several impressive guest features including anthem 'Man Don't Care' with Boy Better Know's Jme and '3 Wheel Ups' with Kano and Wiley. To date, Giggs has sold 100,000 albums and over 100,000 mixtapes, performed all over the world, and worked with household names such as Mark Ronson, B.O.B, Waka Flocka Flame, Jeremih, G-Unit's Whoo Kid and Mike Skinner. His distinctive flow and creative wordplay - coupled with the ability to traverse road rap, grime and hip-hop - has won him a loyal and growing army of ardent fans far and wide.

In advance of his attendance as a participant at the 2016 Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal, rising UK producer Hyroglifics has prepared the 'All Talk' EP for release in September via London's drum & bass purveyors Critical Music. That title might under-promise, but on tracks like "Persuade," debuted here, Hyroglifics certainly delivers. Featuring verses from long-running British rap crew Foreign Beggars, "Persuade" eschews Hyroglifics junglist tendencies in favor of more linear hip-hop. Following a mellow intro, it explodes with energy off the back of vocals that are paranoid, partially uplifting, and certainly boastful ("This is what you want / let me show you what you need"). There are shadowy slips of sound tucked throughout, with woodblock rhythms knocking at the door of otherwise fragile, glassy details that compete with the verses for attention. It's not jungle, and it's not drum & bass, and maybe it's not really hip-hop, either - it's just Hyroglifics. Clear, Black & Transparent Blue mixed coloured 12"

If we put Armando, Gene Hunt and Steve Pointdexter together in a room with a few synthesizers, some rhythm boxes, a Roland 606 and a few cans of beer, what we would get is Shrimp Traxx. This very young, practically unknown Austrian artist has just made his recording debut on Bons Records with five tracks that range in style from classic to trippy, psychotic acid house.

These five jam sessions, made 100% using hardware, are now appearing on the Catalan label. After an EP with a markedly 90's house sound, Bons Records is now turning towards more ghetto vibes with a record to be spun and danced to exclusively in a house club. This is not warm-up stuff!

We return with our next release and at this time we proudly present a local production by a young Estonian musician - Bisweed. At this time we issue a 45 record on the A side of which there is a vocal support by the living legend Earl 16 with a song called Righteous Groove', and on the B side, an exclusive dub mix called Righteous Melodica" by label boss Simon Chaozlevel and melodica played by Bisweed.

Bisweed hasn't yet worked with dub music but over the last years he has established himself as a potential dubstep producer. His skills though help him record vocals, classical dub melodica and a dub mix with ease. Since Bisweed is mostly inspired by the British dub music, on the A side of the record you can hear disconcertingly dark, deep and heavy sub and a strict stepper beat. However the horn section in the chorus parts adds composition a delightful elevation and melodiousness. Earl Sixteen's legendary voice wafts through the rough and tough riddim. The roots and culture lyrics add this creation even more harmony and balance.

Since we are trying to keep classical tradition, we have a dub version on B side. The version differs from original much: it's much more raw, it's not a stepper, the expanded bass gives the music more meditational atmosphere while melodica played by Bisweed clinks just at the right moments. Light and minimalistic percussions by Simon Chaozlevel add rhythmical allure to the composition. Righteous Melodica! Music on the both sides was composed, arranged and mixed by Bisweed in his studio in Tallinn, Estonia. Earl Sixteen had a record session in Birmingham, UK, in Friendly Fire Studio. The mastering sound quality and lacquer cut is guaranteed by Sam from Precise Mastering. Simon Chaozlevel recorded the dub version and made everything possible issuing this wonderful record for you! You won't often hear a combo of dub from Tallinn and a Jamaican singer!

His most recent solo endeavour however embodies a song writer deeply involved with his own vision of sound, resulting in an accomplishment strong enough to stand on its own. Matt delivers a longing and emotional outreach through Honeymoons' six delicate songs and immersing into them provides a feeling of understanding and affiliation that turns solitude into a state of awareness and insight.

The sparse instrumentation of broad guitar/effects and incisive drum machine adds immediacy to this recording and the airy arrangements keep the perfect balance between song structure, free-form playfulness and silence. Accompanied by Matt's echoing voice and personal lyrics, his recipe is being formed and dilated into an experience that requires devotion to be fully perceived and appreciated. "Im See-Through" may be the protagonist's self-perception but by guiding his compositions through foggy, pliant tone constellations he leaves us in doubt that Matt's output could ever be considered transparent.

Lieder schreiben, um Rührung haltbar zu machen für raue Zeiten: Odd Beholder wurde 2013 in einem Luftschutzkeller in Dietikon gegründet. Daniela Weinmann schrieb die Lieder in der Wohnung des Künstlers Curdin Tones in Amsterdam. Aufgenommen wurde die Musik in Berlin. Live ist Odd Beholder von minimalistischem Drumprogramming und Synthsounds geprägt. Den Videoclip zur Single "Landscape Escape" drehten die Berliner Filmer Grambow & Kirchknopf in Aserbaidschan in Zusammenarbeit mit der Azerbaijan Social & Modern Dance Association. Downwell brings back the retro - of course its soundtrack deserves a proper vinyl release. Black Screen Records is releasing the official soundtrack to the celebrated and much praised video game Downwell on audiophile 180 gram vinyl. The pressing will be available limited edition, audiophile 180g red vinyl. The music was composed by Eirik Suhrke who also contributed his impressive work to the soundtracks of games like Spelunky, Ridiculous Fishing, Hotline Miami and Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom. The soundtrack also includes two additional tracks by Ilkae (Aaron Munson). The Downwell soundtrack comes with a free bandcamp code that enables the customer to download the complete soundtrack as mp3s for free and will feature a brand new artwork by Mushbuh known for his work on Burrito Galaxy 65. Composer Eirik Suhrke on the soundtrack: For the Downwell soundtrack I set out to create somewhat sparse, exotic, dark little chiptune-centric jazz pieces. Inspired by the likes of Erik Satie, Ryoji Yoshitomi, Minako Hamano, Alex Mauer, Ilkae and Jun Ishikawa. Parts of the soundtrack were written on- and recorded off a Game Boy, other parts were written with the sample-based Impulse tracker. Myself, Joonas and Ojiro all worked closely to make sure music, sound design and gameplay all worked in tandem, with each element influencing each other throughout development. It's also my personal favorite soundtrack I've written to date. A curious man' with guns for boots, who started out on mobile platforms and PC and due to overwhelming response made it to PS4 & PS Vita in May 2016. Downwell is a game that works as short pastime or for hours of madness, excitement and addiction. While developing and unlocking new features the player will find himself rapidly spurred by the minimalistic and yet haunting music that contributes to this games joyful and unique style and makes it a experience you find yourself returning to over and over again.

Flava D's remix of Grime classic Rhythm & Gash has taken the clubs by storm over the past 12 months as well as online amassing millions of plays across Soundcloud and Youtube with no official release. With her increasing popularity and worldwide shows solo and alongside her supergroup t q d. Searching and Whistler are taken from her Fabriclive CD released in July, her more mellow side of her productions, revisiting the style that she broke with on Butterz back in 2013 with 'Hold On / Home'.

Known for his diverse releases on labels such as Bunker, Panzerkreuz, Further or Shimmering Moods Ian Martin has developed his very unique own brand of electronic music. To categorize his music is difficult which adds an immense appeal to his approch on his releases. Clairvoyant is no exception to this. It is an uplifting and beautiful album based around three of Ian's favourite synthesizers: Waldorf Microwave I, Ensoniq ESQ-1 and Korg M1. It's been five years since his acclaimed debut 'Severant' and time has proved it prescient, its futuristic trap influence is now ubiquitous. 'Slow Knife' seems to return to where 'Severant' left off, but with the intricate sound design of last year's haunting EP 'Assertion Of A Surrounding Presence' subsumed into the compositions, making them more exacting and beautifully crafted. Between albums Kuedo has been working as a sound designer and composer for hire and the application of intent and widescreen rigour that commercial work requires has definitely found its way into the new album. 'Slow Knife' has the subtlety, ambition and pacing of a brilliant soundtrack - a sense of an album of scenes, that easily lends itself to an impressionistic narrative. But, as with 'Severant', the title suggests relationship unease, with the slow knife being a metaphor for the building resentment in any close relationship. 'Slow Knife' is almost two albums, the first half, according to Kuedo, invokes the seduction of the city, taking the music of Michael Mann's 'Manhunter' as a cue, with the latter half being inspired by the bloody starscapes and voodoo wilderness of films such as 'Angel Heart', 'Night Of The Hunter' and more recently the 'True Detective' series. Both halves of the album are also in thrall to Mica Levi's inspiring 'Under The Skin' soundtrack, especially in the turbulence of the mid-section. The songs of the albums first half are synthetic and seductive, a gelatinous veil with shades of the pseudo-sophisticated trance of Enigma, of all things, underpinned with dusky unsettling shadows and atmosphere. 'In Your Sleep', perhaps surprisingly, features the vocals of Hayden Thorpe from Wild Beasts, who settles his dark, whispered vocals into the moonlit shadowy atmosphere. 'Floating Forest' is the first track to allow back some of Kuedo's experimentation with the Southern rap template, which he explored before it became commonplace, with echoed drum splashes and a sinister repetitive motif, ending with a haunting growl. The second half of the album enters wilderness territory with 'Approaching's slow descending notes, before 'Broken Fox - Black Hole' throws the record into the cathartic darkness, as undulating chords play hide and seek with riotous reeds and scratchy strings grown from challenging collaborations with cello player Koenraad Ecker (from Lumisokea). 'Breaking The Surface' shivers and coils, before metal and strings dominate while 'In Your Skin' feels like being lost in a vast hinterland before 'Warmer Light' introduces some memories of sunshine, with its plucked bassline and spiralling dub. 'Halogen Light' opens with the sound of crickets and a clear piano, cleansing the soul before 'Lathe' brings things down to earth with a short, yet powerful coda.

Len Leise - Ing Ing - The first release for General Purpose (GP), a record label created by Len Leise and longtime DJ partner and collaborator Salvador. Leise and Salvador neither plan to release exclusively on GP, nor promise regular releases. It's a label for when they can find the time, energy, money and, most important, the sound they believe in. Ing is about embracing change, experimentation and progression. Terrified to follow a format, Leise looked to other genres for inspiration. He turned to his love for dub, afro, post punk and experimental music to find guidance. Artists like Scientist, Jah Shaka, Savant, Adrian Sherwood and Andromeda all in their own way influence Ing. Ing is not what you'd expect from Leise. Ing is a dub record, a post punk record, an experimental record, a balearic record, a homage record, a record with a purpose.

Following instinct & synthesizing earthly pulses into universal offerings. A close listener illuminating the invisible stratum in audible form, channelling inspirations into rhythmic mysticism. AKA Dakim, the Detroit native attuned to the progressive continuum honoring those who laid the path: Ellington, Dilla, Scientist, Monk, and Rza are amongst his sages. He gives forth his own voice to merge with their resonance. Illumination bringing forth evolution through sound. Always onward, giving us glimpses into a radiant wellspring. There is deep soulfulness in his shattered sounds. Amplifying intuitive consciousness and bounces it back in layered brilliance. An intimate reflection of the universe within. Life vibrations fuel exploration. Receiving Detroit techno transmissions while his mom cooked dinner. Slum Village shaman Baatin imparted wisdom. New worlds unfolded in LA with Project Blowed's infinite hip hop possibilities. Dub opened ears through boundless echoes. Pauses to click with crickets for their cadence. Filters his influences into wholly original forms: a dusty mist flowing through the air, a swing that won't stop, a breath of acknowledgment to the WOW of the world. He is forging paths between now and forever. Music is the language of life that Dakim is living. Synchronize with him and elevate your own existence.

HVNX is a new Hivern sub-label focused in concept EP's and mini- albums from artists in the label's orbit. The series will be a platform for more adventurous sounds, with a special accent in techno and hard- ware jams. Every release will include a photocopied inlay with a mood board of the artists' inspiration for that release.
Bep Kororoti is a mythical ancient astronaut worshipped by the tribes of the Amazon Jungle. It's also the name chosen by Alejandro Rodri´- guez aka Kresy for his new side project. The music on this 12' mostly comes from hardware live jams recorded in one take, which translates into the primal energy of the tracks. Constructed around raw drums, decayed tones, corroded synths, acid bursts, ritualistic chants and an overall toxic haze, it's music that sounds primitive, menacing and intri- guing all at once. Just as the tales of ancestral visitors from outer space that inspired it.
All the releases of the series will come wrapped in a special sleeve designed bi Hivern's in-house designer Arnau Pi.

Love Means Taking Action' is the new album from the multifaceted Copenhagen-based artist Loke Rahbek under his alias Croatian Amor. It is the first full-length Croatian Amor recording since 2014's 'The Wild Palms,' a release that was made available on cassette for a single month, and only in exchange for a nude self-portrait. 'Love Means Taking Action' will receive a wider, conventional release on vinyl through Posh Isolation, on CD through Alter, and across digital platforms. The artist will also be giving away stems of the entire record. A free download will be made available on from September 30th, the album's release date. With the stems comes an open invitation for anyone to use them as they see fit, making them public commons. Since the inception of the project, Croatian Amor has dealt with a mixture of fiction and reality, often using real events and places as a platform for a largely fictional play. Where there is playfulness, there is revelation. On 'Love Means Taking Action'—without a doubt the project's strongest work to date—the effect of the perpetual collaging of information is keenly felt. Short, unnerving moments appear with slick familiarity. Voices repeat and quietly glitch through tonal shifts. We are ushered along by the shuddering effect of the samples and field recordings on the pristine synthesis, with motifs and plot lines presented as quickly as they disintegrate. We are enticed to find comfort here but we are not guided through a space as with much ambient music. The textures and terrains that 'Love Means Taking Action' present form an array of scenarios with what at times feels like a punishing degree of indifference to the listener. We are bluntly shown snippets of impassioned architectures. It is a process that draws the listener in through alienation. There is something in the way that the music and track titles progress which is not unlike the experience of submitting to social media news feeds, where love stories become the neighbours of civil wars and selfies, and reports from refugee camps are presented next to advertisements for lifestyle magazines. Everyone's looking for inner peace of some kind even warmongers. As most intelligent people know, music is one of the most effective ways to achieve that blessed, blissed state. The debut album by Seattle producer Monadh (Jake Muir) offers yet more crucial aid in the war on stress. Muara is an ambient album in the purest, chillest meaning of the term. Its seven tracks are awash in aquatic signifiers and textures; each one is a rejuvenating dip in healing, icy waters. (Muara is Javanese for "estuary.") Which isn't to say that Muara should be filed in New Age sections of record shops (not that there's anything wrong with that). Rather, what the album most resembles is the ambient output of artists like Biosphere. Loscil, and The Sight Below—musicians who uncannily make you warm to cold tones. "The way I make music is really stream of consciousness," Muir says. "My friend calls it 'slow improv.' I happened to be watching a lot of older Japanese cinema, especially samurai stuff, from the '50s to the '70s while making the album." Natural habitats also played a significant role, Muir notes. "My favorite music is informed by mood and place." This deep into the 21st century, it's not easy to create ambient music that sounds vital and untainted by hackneyed tropes. Monadh succeeds in this difficult task, through a combination of his field recordings from the Pacific Northwest and meticulously chosen samples mostly lifted and pitchshifted from library records of a pastoral and romantic bent. He also cites Andrew Pekler's Sentimental Favourites and Biosphere's Shenzhou as inspirations.

Experimental synth quartet S U R V I V E's sophomore full-length and Relapse debut is a dark, sweeping exercise in analog synth mastery. "The pulsating, 9-song instrumental release showcases immense diversity between tracks - RR7349's compositions range from grim tom-tom thunder to space-age epics, pairing tense plodding grooves with meditative ambience and driving, rhythmic beats. Inspired by IDM and horror scores alike, RR7349 is simultaneously ominous and hopeful, tense and relaxed, percussive and melodic. Additionally, two of the group's members also recently scored the soundtrack for Stranger Things"

"Sabina" is a suite of improvised music about nature and magic. About the kind of traces we leave or want to leave on Earth. All music on this tape (except A4) was improvised and recorded in one take in Corbeil-Essonnes, France, during the last week of October 2015. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Richard Frances.

Frances is a French composer/musician born in Alicante in 1981 and now based in Paris. His project Acid Fountain seeks to bring together abstract and representational art, improvisation and composition, experimental and dance musics.

Other projects by Frances include Juju, his "electronique libre" duo with Adrien Kanter. He also composes, arranges and tours with French pop artists such as Owlle and Adrien Soleiman, to name but two..., As a live performer, he has worked on Julien Lheuillier's kosmische musik project Pointe du Lac and in 2015 has collaborated with the French art/dance collective (LA)HORDE. Previously, Richard played drums and synthesisers with French underground psych/kraut/drone band The New Reformed Church of Napalm Katia.

In January 2015 Richard founded the label Hyle Tapes: an experimental electronic music label releasing limited edition cassettes by international artists like Takahiro Mukai, Raphael Leray, D. Burke Mahoney, Jay Glass Dubs and Mortuus Auris & The Black Hand.

Marta De Pascalis (b. 1987) is a musician from Rome, currently based in Berlin who works primarily with synthesizers and tape loops. "Anzar" and "Emerso" are two works composed using improvisation on a tape-loop system, in which patterns of repetition create a sense of a dense, dynamic and cathartic distance. Anzar's cover art is from a series of black ink paintings made by Marta's father in the 1970s.

"I see these pieces as tied in a cyclical motion with their sounds moving in different directions. In "Anzar", sounds are constantly "falling" from the source, landing gently and staying on the tape's surface until they fade out to be replaced by other sounds, finally reaching an austere resolution. In "Emerso", there's a different scenario: a persistent theme in the background with sounds that slowly emerge, interact and then dissolve, ending with an abrupt change of tone. Where is the centre of this cycle Where is the centre of this tape The centre is moving constantly, the centre is missing. Switch sides. Repeat." - Marta De Pascalis, Berlin, 19th August 2016.

Hubris continues the exploration of relentless, driving rhythms heard on Ambarchi's Sagittarian Domain (2012) and Quixotism (2014). Where those records looked to Krautrock and techno for their starting points, the sidelong opening track here begins from the perhaps unlikely inspirations of disco and new wave, drawing particularly from Ambarchi's love of Wang Chung's soundtrack to William Friedkin's To Live and Die in L.A. Leaving behind the song-forms of these reference points, Ambarchi weaves a sustained and pulsating web of layered palm-muted guitars from which individual voices rise up and recede, eventually setting the stage for some lush guitar synth from Jim O'Rourke. Arnold Dreyblatt collaborator Konrad Sprenger contributes overtone-rich motorized guitar, pushing the piece into a satisfying intersection of shimmering minimalism and rhythmic drive that smoothly builds up until the entrance of Mark Fell's electronic percussion in its final section.

After a short second part, in which Ambarchi, O'Rourke and Crys Cole pay tribute to the skewed harmonic sense of Albert Marcoeur with a track built from layered bass guitar figures and abstracted speech, the long final piece pushes the concept of the first side into darker and denser areas. Joined by electronic rhythms from Ricardo Villalobos and the twin drums of Joe Talia and Will Guthrie, the layered guitars of the first piece are transformed into a raw and tumbling fusion-funk groove that calls to mind early Weather Report or even the first Golden Palominos LP. As this stellar rhythm section rides a single repeated chord change into oblivion, a series of spectacular events emerge in the foreground: first, aleatoric synthesizer burbles from Keith Fullerton Whitman, then slashing skronk guitar from Arto Lindsay, until finally Ambarchi's own fuzzed-out guitar harmonics take center stage as the piece builds to an ecstatic frenzy. Few artists could hope to include such an incredible variety of collaborators on one record and still hope for it to have a unique identity, but Ambarchi manages to do just that, crafting three pieces that emerge directly out of his previous work while also pushing ahead into new dimensions.

Originally Released on Echocord on 27 August 2012. Transcendent Records finally releases this much wanted ambient techno album by Conforce aka Silent Harbour, completely remastered for vinyl. Boris Bunnik expresses "music for an imaginary deep mental abstract excursion" under the Silent Harbour moniker for Transcendent/Echocord. As his multifarious operations have shown, Boris is a dab hand in the studio, and Silent Harbour is the place to find those machine emissions which would never quite reach the 'floor. Operating on the cusp of ambient Techno and electro-acoustic music, he shapes sheer scapes from elemental source material, rendering his sounds diffuse until we glimpse hallucinatory tones in the gloaming dissonance. 4/4 anchored rhythms are fractured, percussions sent to scout the perimeters while the vast space between becomes playground to radiant metallic timbres and strafing electronic apparitions. Music for Techno heads to fall into when the kicks are too much. White vinyl 2x12", limited to 300 copies!

Deep'a & Biri's Black Crow Records further expands its horizons with its seventh release, welcoming another new artist to the family following appearances by 2030, Aril Brihka, Hakimonu, Luke Hess, ROD, Inland and Markus Suckut. The Analog Roland Orchestra's label debut follows the widely acclaimed 2030 EP and shares with it a widening of the label's sonic scope to once again showcase Deep'a & Biri's desire to reach beyond techno and explore ambient and cinematic musical textures. Michal Matlak's Analog Roland Orchestra finds the Poland born & Berlin based producer in the conductor role among an array of classic electronic hardware, taking on the role of shaping & directing a free flowing sound that moves across genres, whether in a studio or live setting. His previous releases for labels including Ornaments, Rotary Cocktail Recordings and Pastamusik have seen the project indulge in an array of sounds across the techno spectrum. 'Aftermath II' is no different, moving from the classic roots techno sounds of 'Plant' and 'Father Detroit', through the dub excursion of 'Urei Dub', to the cinematic, Boards of Canada & Tangerine Dream-recalling pair 'Her' and 'Aftermath. A limited new pressing of sought-after Strut LP from 2002, compiled by DJ Cliffy and celebrating the 'Black Rio' movement of the 1970s as Brazilian artists took the lead from James Brown and forged their own samba soul fusions. Artists include Jorge Ben, Uniao Black, Trio Mocoto and Banda Black Rio.This fresh reissue is fully remastered as a 2LP gatefold featuring original sleeve notes, rare photos and original flyer artwork. copies will feature the remastered CD version of the album within the package.

It's an honor for us to announce that our next album is by two of our favourite artists: Pye Corner Audio and Dalhous. After their participation in Lapsus Festival, both artists agreed to our request to make a split album and the result is "Run For The Shadows", an EP composed of four magnificent tracks, which includes some of the most impressive work from their respective discographies. The kinematics and bubbling sonic frequencies of "Stream Four" and the emotional techno low pulse of "The Simplest Equation" will be well appreciated by fans of Mr. Martin Jenkins aka Pye Corner Audio aka "the favorite artist of your favorite artist". Two extraordinary pieces of analogue electronic music whose slow-(e)motion dynamics adhere to the already mythical Black Mill Tapes. As for Dalhous, they have created two of their best songs to date. The beautiful and incredibly melancholic melodies of "The Essential Wander" are surrounded by an extraordinary rhythm section full of surprising twists. Secondly, the brief but amazingly intense (and painfully beautiful) "Another Witnessed By Resolution" closes one of the best chapters in the history of Dalhous, the magical musical project from Scotland which continues to open new ways in its increasingly personal world, far removed from popular trends. "Run For The Shadows" is, without doubt, the most outstanding album that Lapsus Records has released so far. An exceptional work by two unique artists. An stunning sensory journey.

Following his 2013 debut LP, Fictitious Nostalgia, Beastie Respond joins forces with Alia Fresco, Silkie and Circle Vision to present his new EP, Back To The Future. As with most of his output in recent years, the Danish producer's indisputable enchantment of '80s aesthetics and purple nostalgia beams through the entire record, elevated by Alia Fresco's soothing vocals on the glamorous title track. Intergalactic Soap Box Derby's hectic synth work and sharp turns generate an unpredictable space race for the head nodders, while Joy Ryder sees Beastie Respond carefully mesh classic d'n'b programming with neonlight melodies. Silkie rounds off the EP with a signature sub treatment of Back To The Future, navigating on a tempo not previously released by the acclaimed UK producer.

Deko Deko are Lena Seik and Tristan Schulze, based in Leipzig, Germany. The duo creates their music by computer, synthesizer and vocals. Conventional song structures are fractured and deconstructed to be reconstructed and defragmented in the end. That might sound experimental but Deko Deko write hymns with orchestral parts and mad choirs, but always electronical too.

After his sell-out release in 2010, Need For Mirrors makes a long overdue return to Inneractive with the infectious, spaced-out bass heavy boomer 'Acrobats'. Fresh from their collaboration on Digital's 'Synthesis' LP, Need For Mirrors teams up with Digital and Spirit for the deep and dirty shuffling rhythms and dubbed out tones of 'Cool Vibration'.

duploc. com's debut 12 has been a remarkable milestone for the Belgian imprint as Belgium has not seen any dubstep records released on vinyl in four years. Following up the success of DUPLOC012 with ARtroniks, the label gives a second two-tracker a wax treatment. For the next instalment introduces upcoming Bristolian talent Rygby, his local environment with its well-respected music culture simply demands for a proper vinyl.

Bristol is the homecity of badman like Kahn, Pinch, Ishan Sound, Joker and Sorrow to name a few, but with Rygby's first vinyl the spotlight definitely will be turned on him as well. Poltergeist' probably is the most original track signed so far. Though you'll need to hear and experience it live through a decent sound system to fully understand this one. A very upfront haunting sub bass with the energy to shake up any dance, combined with an extremely unique A-side Pagan' which perfectly does complement this spooky-sounding record. The Seventh instalment from Encrypted Audio is none other than London based Samba (Sam Bartlett).

Samba delivers finely crafted, raw and edgy music exploring the boundaries of the bass music genre. With Encrypted as his home Sam has crafted his sound into a genre changing format. Light Leak is a show case of all things distorted, with a driving top line and sub bass. Supported by Sam's love of gritty distortion, this track is an introduction to the future.

36's could of easily demanded a single 12 of its own but with the amount of work coming from Sam it had to fit onto this release. With an energy and flow reminiscent of Jungle/Drum & Bass from the Mid 90's.

Originally premiered by Mistajam on his BBC Radio 1 show back in May this one finally surfaces for an official release via J:Kenzo's Artikal Music UK. Big tune and one that threats to crossover from the niche Dubstep circles.

Als Die Antwoord vor rund zwei Jahren an den Arbeiten zum neuen Album begannen, war die Grundstimmung des Materials noch sehr roh, düster und tough. Die Band wollte das Album "Rats Rule" nennen, denn im Leben gäbe es nur Gewinner und Underdogs. Und für Die Antwoord fühle es sich so an, als seien sie noch ein Level unterhalb der Underdogs zu Hause "in this fucked up pop world". Aber die Südafrikaner seien sich sicher, dass ihre Zeit noch kommen werde. "And soon we gonna take over this whole bitch", so Ninja und Yo-Landi.

Daraufhin schrieben Die Antwoord weitere Songs. Der Kern des Albums blieb düster und "ratty", aber die Band konnte eine neue Ebene hinzufügen. Eine Ebene, die eher wahnwitzig, sexy und sehr spaßig wirkte. Also wollten Die Antwoord das neue Werk in "We Have Candy" umbenennen. Dann, beim letzten Feinschliff, kam eine weitere Ebene hinzu: "A giant supernatural mega aura". Und plötzlich kam ihnen ihr neues Werk so episch vor. Manchmal verletzlich, manchmal süß und romantisch, mutig und voller Rätsel. Schließlich sagte Yo-Landi: "Why don't we call the album 'Mount Ninji And Da Nice Time Kid". Der Legende nach antwortete Ninja lediglich mit einem, "you a fuckin' genius! I love you!".

Also remembered for his prominent appearance in Hospital Record's 'The Future Sound of Russia' compilation back in 2009, whilst fast-forwarding to 2015 Electrosoul System featured on Sunchase's 'Kolo' - a firm favourite from the stunning 'The Truth' EP. Impressing once more with this fine contribution to the Med School catalogue,  'Flawless' is set to excite the ears and open the eyes of Med School and KOS.MOS fans alike. 

* With the dust settled from Gerra & Stone's Unbreakable EP, we invite some of their favourite producers to give their own slant on the tracks.

* Developing on the original elements from last year's superb EP, the three remixers each take things in unique directions, amply reflecting the duo's diverse palette of influences.

* Zero T provides the remix treatment for title track "Unbreakable", to deliver a soulful, more rolling rendition, with a warm low end groove, rehashing the sultry vocals of Lucy Kitchen.

* Blocks & Escher transform the more gritty "Plates" into an old skool percussive pursuit reminiscent of Special Forces, slowing things right down and bringing eerie atmospherics to the foreground, to give a real authentic feel.

* Mako then revisits "Almost U", with his "Faithful Remix" providing more of a stepping approach. Remaining true to the original, the piano, string and brass elements are consolidated and carried by a heavily dubbed out bassline.

The first solo album from Rod Modell (Deepchord) in nearly 10 years, following up 2007's "Incense & Blacklight" comes in lush form with, "Mediterranea". Clocking in at 72 minutes, this cerebral epic reveals a sense of timelessness and stillness, an exquisite portrayal of reflection that is sonically enriching and emotionally engaging. Opening with field recordings conducted while abroad in the islands of Spain, sculpts a sublime sense of nuance that creeps into fore as time passes, gradually enveloping and evolving into what sounds as an orchestra playing from the fathomless ends of the ocean. The quiet jazz induced snare percussion honors the melody hidden deep beneath the surface. Congas and tribal rhythms accentuate its colorful and vibrant dream-like melodies that slowly expose themselves into the mix. Haunting, alluding to the symphonic, its emotional depth shift gradually, revealing the underlying, subconscious tonal colors. The magic and lushness of the strings, the beautiful resonance of the violin and the love felt in each key stroke tugs right at the heart strings. To us here at Echospace, this may be the most Beautiful and inviting piece we've ever heard from Rod, absolutely stunning!

If 'Convenanza', released in February, was a distillation of all Andrew Weatherall's influences in one place then 'Consolamentum' takes that instinct a step further. Here he invites friends old and new to rework the tracks from Convenanza in their own style.

On board are redoubtable musical architects such as David Holmes (under his new 'Unloved' guise), Justin Robertson (wearing his 'Deadstock 33s' hat) and the legendary Bernard Fevre of Black Devil Disco Club notoriety.
Leading the charge by the new guard are Heretic, Red Axes, Solar Bears and Vox Low whose tracks have twisted into existence a quiet storm on ALFOS nights.

Late March will see Unclear Records release the 'Stella' EP from label-founder Elia Perrone & Gigi Masin, accompanied by a Juju & Jordash Remix!

Arezzo, Italy born artist Elia Perrone launched the imprint in 2011 with his 'Beginning' EP and since the label has gone to release works from the likes of Rick Wade, Roman Fluegel, Baby Ford and Oliver Deutschmann. Here we see Elia return to his Unclear imprint via a collaboration with Venetian producer Gigi Masin, notably known for his ambient works which he's been releasing since 1986. The original mix of title track 'Stella' kicks off the release and sees Elia and Gigi deliver a engaging slice of ethereal ambience via expansive atmospherics, swelling strings lines and muted percussion hits. 'Garden Blues' follows and sees the duo fuse reverse reverb sweeps, enchanting strings melodies and soaring vocal murmurs with glitching percussion and bubbling synth licks. Opening the latter half of the release is Juju & Jordash's take on 'Stella' and in typical fashion from the duo we're treated to raw drums, multi-layered snaking melodies and a general dynamic and lo-fi feel throughout the compositions baroquely evolving eight minutes. Niro Perrone then rounds off the
package with his 'Niro Love Mum Remix' of 'Garden Blues', delivering a more straight 4/4 interpretation with jazzy percussion and intricately chopped snippets of the original parts re-constructed with an
infectious swing.

Trani has been representing the Detroit sound in Italy for some years now, with releases on Minimal Soul Recordings, as well as his own Pushmaster Discs (a label that has also hosted the likes of Ilario Alicante, Myles Sergé and Percyl). His latest outing will be his first full-length, an album inspired space travel, that continues to push Detroit sounds, as well as venturing into some jungle rhythms.

Kicking off a new limited series on Circus Company, we return to JAW's solo project Midtown, which was released in 2014. Amongst the 19 collaborative tracks that saw the dOP vocalist sparring with musicians from all over the world, there was a spellbinding song written in conjunction with British singer-songwriter Piers Faccini. Traitor Creator' is a haunting track very much led by Faccini's fragile vocal, with JAW laying down a subtle undercurrent of harmony. Meanwhile the delicate guitar tone and sparse percussion that shape out the song all lend themselves to a mournful, existential message. Even in the climax of the track, with its fractured guitar distortion, the Eastern lilt of the melody dictates a mystical atmosphere. To frame the original track in a new light we called upon Nôze to deliver a remix. The pensive mood is maintained through a brooding low-end pulse, but the vocals are mixed to further accent the interplay between the two distinct singers. Using a stripped-back beat and threading in choice slices of the guitar alongside light touches of synth, Nico and Eze draw on the fundamental spirit of the track and take it to a new, equally captivating place.Of all the tracks on Midtown, Traitor Creator' was perhaps not the obvious choice for a club-friendly remix, but in such unlikely situations can some of the most captivating results be found.

Wingbeats is the eagerly awaited new release from Hidden Orchestra on Tru Thoughts. On the 7-track EP, which illuminates the fascinating intricacy of Joe Acheson's work, the immersive lead track is accompanied by several of the original source compositions which fed into its creation. Rich in detail and character, field recordings intertwine with drums, percussion and eclectic instruments including piano, electro-harp, glockenspiel, Turkish mey and cello. I have found that what draws me to a piece can often be one small detail - a single characteristic or maybe a fleeting moment of beautiful sound or compelling rhythm', says Acheson. So, for a Hidden Orchestra composition I often create lots of individual source pieces and pick out bits to reinterpret as samples'. Although they were written to be source material for sampling, the source pieces included on the Wingbeats' EP stand on their own as individual compositions, with striking elements which can easily get lost in the full texture of the main track.Each source track tells a story: of birds fluttering in to feed on toast and cheese crumbs in a rural British garden, or flocking in a hedge in the snow in the French Alps, of an imaginary string orchestra, of an early-hours improvised piano jam, of a spot of instrument shopping while on tour in Istanbul, or an early-morning dawn chorus in a sleepy village, rounded off with church bells.His recordings, and the hundreds of live gigs that Hidden Orchestra have played across great swathes of the world, have earned praise from the likes of The Independent to XLR8R to BBC 6Music, this adds to Acheson's parallel career as an award-winning producer of radio programmes and soundtracks.

Kouhei Matsunaga's 2nd album as NHK — his label debut for Diagonal — is a pixel-pill gobbling, seesawing wave of techno emotions presenting the Japanese artist at his most rugged and
damaged. After recent LPs from Not Waving, Elon Katz and Russel Haswell, Diagonal now excel in drawing out powerful album statements from some of the most distinctive musicians in
contemporary electronic music.
As bonkers as the narwhal-cavorting-with-a-rhino artwork, Doom Steppy Reverb is the skizzo brother of new beta, a 3D spec'd rally thru some of NHK's darkest, most driven material, done with
a gangster swang in deft minor key arrangements that hint at a certain rudeboy vulnerability.
Its seven tracks toe a fine line between novel and nasty, sidewinding from warehouse acid to brukkin' garage techno by the brutal close of 1073+snare, or basic channelling Autech/Reichian chords with sole-melting synth juice in Y, only to unexpectedly turn out a baroque scally bubble, Zomby style, with 1082_s.
Make no mistake, it's a record full of club bangers, though: L gets on Lory D levels of neo acid house squirm and 1083_lo_oct will demolish a big room at the right time thanks to some properly toned subbass, adding a new weapon to Diagonal's arsenal of world-scattered radge packets. It's proper fuel for DJs, dancers and headphone excursionists — and the artwork makes it just a good ol' laugh to look at.
This is NHK's best work — and demands to be felt.

The 3rd full length from French composer utilizes synthetic sounds interacting w/ acoustic recordings driving classical playing techniques towards unexpected mechano-acoustic reactions.

Camila created this EP whilst involving herself in circuit bending for the first time. The songs developed and grew over small, raw, noises or bizarre melodies from her self-built sequencers.

Submerged in building DIY circuitry, she was hypnotized by its relations to nature. Chemical elements, multi-coloured stones, material states rapidly changing into others. Each track on this EP presents her connections to these encounters, showing rough, odd, movements, sudden jumps of colour, and bizarre, deliberate rhythms.

It's noisy. It makes use of bright analogue melodies, and it contains vocals. It's exciting that it's brought together three labels, Lumen Lake, Schamoni Musik, and SVS Records, which will be collaborating for the first time to release a limited edition of 300 copies.

On her main project, Camila Fuchs, Camila has made appearances at Mutek Mexico, Ars Electronica, ATP Festival, MexFest London, Gottwood, and Dalston Music Festival. This is the first time she introduces us to her solo project.

* The album harks back to pioneering 90s aesthetic of the music but it doesn't feel retrospective, in fact it feels futuristic- a thread that Dom has made sure ties all his work together. The reference points for the album stretch far and wide, from the inspiring and equally green eyed Sunday Sessions at Blue Note to RZA's approach to sampling.

The album is Dom & Roland exorcising his artistic demons and we're proud to be releasing the project on Metalheadz.

"It blows everything else away. Hands down...Right now.... Dom's album destroys everything.

"Hopefully they do not fit into too many sub-genre categories," says Canadian producer and DJ Edward Currelly, aka Eddie C about On The Shore. On The Shore is a compelling musical trip of drifting repetition in rhythm and melody. Recorded entirely in his studio on the shore of the Panke River, Eddie confesses: "Berlin has been so crazy... I have mixed feelings sometimes. The emotions I've had here are like none I've ever had to deal with before. I've had many sleepless nights. I suppose the music is a mix of feelings and inspiration from life here." The story arc of his sample-laden album oscillates between sweet sadness and warming blissfulness. There are strings that can evoke tears, synth lines that may generate dreams and guitars that are able to introduce levitation. But C's life as a traveling DJ has also had a great effect on his art. "I've always written music and always been DJ'ing. They both came around the same time when I was very young. But I've never quite connected the two. I've always thought that they were very different avenues of expression. All the travelling in the last while has been a beautiful experience and so very inspiring and exhausting. One thing I really wish I had more of is routine. Something that many people wish to escape." For a listener it makes no difference where the emotional subtext is originated. Eddie did not dismiss what he has always enjoyed: arranging a mix of instruments, synths, samples and drum machines, that cuts deep into your soul. Each track is an intimate meditation. Sometimes it grooves in the down-tempo fields, sometimes cosmic disco calls the tune and house is around too, but all is propelled by pulsing keys, pitch bends and crashing drum loops. The routine Eddie talks about must be somewhat a part of his life as his usage of samples, his rhythmical accuracy and his sense for small but extra touching melody particles are not just coming from one spontaneous surge of emotion. He also enjoyed the company of his Norwegian buddy Rune Lindbaek on "Auf Der Ufer" - a sublime synth-laden spacey tune. On The Shore is a playful album full of contrasting, deeply atmospheric stages, that range from swinging and propulsive to blissed-out and bittersweet sensibilities.

La Califfa" (1970) is a rare example, probably very rare, in which the director and author of the book on which the film is inspired coincide, we're talking about Antonio Bevilacqua, who won the Nastro D'Argento prize as Best New Director with this film.

The film deals with the issue of the class struggle, and in particular the love-hate relationship between a businessman (Ugo Tognazzi) and a female worker (Romy Schneider, almost too sensual here) who lost her fiancé at the working place. A romantic and dramatic work, as the music written and orchestrated by Ennio Morricone, here often surrounded by an impressive aura of sacredness. This LP also features, as guests on voices and choirs, Edda Dell'Orso and I Cantori Moderni di Alessandro Alessandroni. Surprisingly, despite the success of the film and its soundtrack received at the time, "La Califfa" has never been reissued on LP since the early '70s.

This new edition on Vinyl Magic record label eventually fills this gap and, except for the front cover image, the artwork has been completely renewed: the inner sleeve contains in fact many reproductions of posters and lobby cards of the film. Various tracks, never released on LP until today, have also been added to the final tracklist.

More than a halo of mystery surrounds "Le due stagioni della vita" (The two seasons of life), a film virtually impossible to find in any format, that we hardly know the names of its actors and director. The latter, Samy Pavel, of Belgian nationality but born in Egypt in 1944, debuted in 1972 precisely with this film, which was presented at the Venice International Film Festival in the same year.

The author of the soundtrack is Ennio Morricone, who was already a World famous composer in those years thanks to his unforgettable soundtracks written for Sergio Leone's western movies and beyond. He's here accompanied, as often happened in those years, by conductor Bruno Nicolai and singer Edda Dell'Orso. Entirely orchestral, first of all the LP shows a long suite on side A, composed of a series of the main theme variations, the B-side, on the other hand, presents a brief interlude for solo voices, followed by another long composition that we wouldn't hesitate to define 'unbelievable': sixteen long minutes of a constant tension generated by string instruments only, with sporadic inserts of tribal percussion, dissonant piano chords and notes, and darkened choirs.

This reissue on Vinyl Magic is the first ever on LP since the original one published in 1972.

"Teorema" is a film directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini, publicly presented for the first time in September 1968 at the International Film Festival in Venice, it immediately shocked its viewers, like many other of Pasolini's works, and was seized by the Public Prosecutor of Rome and the director, with producer Donato Leoni, were charged with obscenity - and eventually absolved.

The music of the film is divided in two: the original vinyl B-side is entirely occupied by Mozart's "Messa da Requiem", while the A-side houses five original compositions written by Ennio Morricone. These ones consist of two opening dissonant and discordant tracks, solely played with classical instruments ("Teorema", "Frammenti"), a ballad sung by the Junior Trio ("Fruscio di green leaves"), a piece that reminds of a western movie by Sergio Leone ("L'ultima corrida") and a closing instrumental beat/psych song ("Beat N° 3").

This Vinyl Magic reissue faithfully reproduces the original 1968 version, and is printed in a limited edition on 180gr transparent lime coloured vinyl.

Vergogna schifosi" is a 1969 movie directed by Mauro Severino, a "Generation '68" film whose aim is to depict a social protest against the middle-class youth of the time, with the deserted - as empty as the protagonists - city of Milan in the background; everything is tied together by a mysterious murder that occurred years before, resurfaced by a mysterious individual.

The soundtrack of this film was entrusted to Ennio Morricone who, with the collaboration of I Cantori Moderni di Alessandro Alessandroni and an incredible Edda Dell'Orso, combined symphonic and pop music, with a jazzy rhythmic background. Six tracks with a soothing and romantic atmosphere that wouldn't look out of place in a 'lounge' compilation; undoubtedly brilliant is the reinterpretation of the famous nursery rhyme melody of "Giro Giro Tondo", included in the two pieces of the same title "Matto, Caldo, Soldi, Morto... Girotondo".

This Vinyl Magic reissue faithfully reproduces the original 1969 version, and is printed in a limited edition on 180gr solid gold coloured vinyl.

Addison Groove is back under his Headhunter guise - Rebooting his Transistor label for a duo of trademark dubstep cuts in that inimitable style that we have been missing since his landmark releases on Tempa back in the late 00's. Dank, rolling technoid mutations at 140 are the order of the day here, effortlessly combining the darkside sound palette and modulated bass that defined his earlier output with lush chord stabs stretching out into the distance. Driving percussion and immaculate production levels keep things steaming ahead throughout the duration - Following on directly from that golden era Tempa sound that we are so fond of. On the B side is Ina, cut from the same cloth as the A side but with a hint of his Addison Groove alias creeping in, if you checked his 'Go La La' record under that name last year you'll know what we mean. That crafty percussion is swiftly backed up by rough edged, elasticated bass and some more glowing chord stabs.

IOKOI's debut album «Liquefy» unfolds into the waving territories of #HYPERCYBEREALISM, where physical and virtual spaces interweave. The dancing «self» modulates trough reflections, creating floating and drifting instances of identity. IOKOI is a blur. She plays with the barriers of reality and unconsciousness, creating a surreal performance in which she negotiates her identity, and enters a dialogue with the audience. She confronts the usual with capricious textures, oblique sounds and a subliminal voice.
