Kazan, Russias own YancityGurl follows an appearance on the U S S R compilation with his debut release on Opal.

Shadow Medium's 8 tracks present the producers fragile take on dance music, often, intensely bleak, soured and stalking while also incorporating his feelings for the globular bass sounds of contemporary deep house/tech and a saccharine UKG influence. Blaring, blackened synths (Denial, Reflection) are hosted in the same space as sweet vocal chops and bulbous bass (Colorado's Dream, Lowtions). It's never confused, it just glues together into his sound, lo-fi as it is, to me it sounds pissed off and ready to pop. In the artists words it's "elegant darkness".

Checking the Lebartone Aces at the door, he borrowed the Sex Bombers from Prince Omo Lawal-Osula and created Unity, a sure-fire dance floor stomper that channels 'Ring My Bell' into a clarion cry for, well, unity ... and a good time. The title track is the undisputed highlight of the album. It rattles along in a wonky, skittish fashion, with the high-pitched toms dueling with the Sex Bombers in a musical game of Space Invaders. 'His Highness Erediauwa 1 Oba Of Benin (Part 1 &2)', sees Aigbe slips back into Highlife like a comfortable pair of slippers. The tracks were a gift to Erediauwa, who had just been crowned the 38th ruler of the Edo people in Benin City. Like eastern Nigeria, Benin City had remained a haven for highlife, so no surprises there. Spookily, the re-issue of this album by PMG coincides with the passing of his Highness Erediauwa 1 and the coronation of his successor. After the HUGE success of his critically acclaimed, debut album "Augmented 7th, Ash Walker is back with his 2nd studio album, entitled "Echo Chamber"

Support on the singles leading up to album has been nothing short of fantastic, hearing the likes of Don Letts, Gilles Peterson, Gideon Coe, Tom Ravenscroft (all BBC 6Music), Dom Servini (Wah Wah 45's), Lefto, Joe Kay (Soulection) & Zeb Samuels all spinning tunes on regular rotation.

The album continues a similar feel and energy of "Augmented 7th", but you can hear Walker has settled into his "sound" with confidence and that all important swagger.

As you would expect, Jazz sits at the very core of the album with Trip-Hop beats providing the tread that holds it all together.

The balance of instrumental tracks & featured vocals is a perfect mix. It focuses heavily on musicianship and instrumental recordings, but features a total of 4 tracks with vocals, all provided by close friends from Ash Walker, that will be names to keep an eye on for sure.

Ash Walker has been compared with the likes of Flying Lotus, Massive attack, U.N.K.L.E, DJ Shadow & Nightmares on Wax, to name some artists you might be familiar with.

Marc Cyril, who has played Bass and electric guitar on several productions, has an impressive musical CV and provides some jaw dropping layers to Walker's music.

He has collaborated with the likes of Joss Stone, Dennis Bovell, Jr Walker and the All Stars and Faithless' Maxi Jazz, to name some highlights.

And for the lead single "Dark Hour", none other than Saxophonist Benjamin Barnet features, who has worked with some big names in the music business as well. Some highlights include: DJ Fresh, Paul Oakenfold & The Black Eyed Peas.

As a DJ, Ash has long performed in support of prestigious acts including The Specials, Lee Scratch Perry, and David Rodigan, but now signed to Deep Heads, his productions are receiving the increased attention they deserve. 'Augmented 7th', received staunch radio support from BBC 6 Music, with air time play from the likes of Gideon Coe, Gilles Peterson Don Letts and Tom Robinson whilst also receiving glowing praises from publications such as Clash Magazine, Okayplayer, XLR8R & Konbini.

Charles Hayward formed This Heat in 1976, with Gareth Williams and Charles Bullen: an experimental mix of Can, dub, punk and industrial. (DFA is a glint in its eye.) He also drummed for The Raincoats and Crass. The Kemal selections here are from his tribute to Mark Rothko, released in 1990 by the wonderful Brussels label Sub Rosa: grooving, stripped, moody DJ assassinators, fresh as anything.

On the second vinyl, Maxmillion Dunbar is possessed by Photek disguised as DJ Premier. His favourite of his own remixes, according to a recent interview. And another hard-core CH fan, JD Twitch rocks up with a carrier of Giallo videos and New Beat singles, gobbling Goblin and Belgian acid.

Death in Vegas returns with Transmission, the sixth release from the project begun by Richard Fearless nearly two decades ago. This album forges new miles on the path Fearless carved with Satan's Circus and Trans-Love Energies, and is born of his desire for an ever more raw, refined sound.
United over a love of Throbbing Gristle and Chris and Cosey, Fearless partners with artist and writer Sasha Grey, whose lyrics resonate across the soundscape of visceral techno and unsettling, discordant drones, weaving into a state of dreamlike euphoria. Field recordings of the constant drone of air traffic and incessant noise from the steel factory opposite Fearless' Metal Box studio, as well as the Ballardian landscape in which it's set, all exert their pull on the record, searching for light in the dark.

Good to his word, the artist formerly known as Gutterbreakz aka Nick Edwards has delivered this 6 track beast. It does rather beg the questions - which clubs has he been frequenting And how do we get on the guest list

The ''Silence LP'' is the follow-up to Impish's 2014 full length debut ''Underwater LP'' which was made together with vocalist Vasilisa. Working as a drum & bass producer, instrumentalist, engineer, promoter and graphic designer Impish has been building a steady following worldwide with numerous releases on Dutch imprints Fokuz, Citrus and Blendits receiving support by the likes of Technimatic, LTJ Bukem, Spectrasoul, BTK, John B and many more. For his most recent project the multi-talented Muscovite takes manners in own hand releasing an 11 track LP on his own Imprint ''Occulti Music''.

John Frusciante's Foregrow doesn't sound like any Acid Test record, or any record, that's come before it. After the unlikely alliance between the Los Angeles label and the iconoclastic Venice, CA musician on Trickfinger, all bets are off. This one's truly a passage through night. Foregrow is a lurching, lysergic beauty which offers glimpses of his platinum pop instincts, but only behind the veil of true experimentalism.

Toulousians Romain Barbot and Gregory Buffier have produced more than a dozen tormented ambient-drone records under the name Saa°ad. Verdaillon is the fruit of a commission by the local Les Orgues festival, which gave them access to the Puget organ located in the Church of Notre-Dame de la Dalbade.

Via dynamics of elevation, suspension and tension, Saa°ad's music aims for altered states. Consisting of thick patches of sound, it gathers powerful harmonies and buries them under the rustle of elusive, intimate, far-flung sampling. From the start, Saa°ad has been obsessed with in situ creation, field recording and acoustics, but also, more implicitly, with baroque music. so their encounter with the Dalbade organ seemed a propitious challenge.

Even in the sparkling main themes, the organ seems unevenly tuned, at times granular, with a range of concrete, percussive and eolian expression. Sometimes the organ is played when it is off; a couple of tracks utilise spare old pipes, like flutes.

Verdaillon eschews the easy lyricism of much ambient music, in favour of an extremely rare quality of dynamic and detail. The record's singular and discreet beauty is due to the organ in all of its most secular aspects, and to a certain 'something in the air' of that particular place, on those particular days... the breath of life itself.

Candy Tongue' is the second single taken from the upcoming third studio album 'Lost' by Trentemøller. The beautiful song features the vocals of danish singer/songwriter Marie Fisker. Trentemøller already teamed up with Fisker on a song for the 'Into The Great Wide Yonder' LP and she's also become a firm member of Trentemøller's live band, who are touring the European summer festivals at the moment. 'Candy Tongue' slowly builds from whispered, emotional vocals into a rousing song with oversteering guitars and evoking chants. Following on from the 1st single 'Never Stop Running', the new single also reveals more of the upcoming, curiously awaited new longplayer which breathes all aspects of the electronic years as well as the guitar driven second album - in a new, fresh and light-footed way with a wealth of fantastic songs, incredibly well produced. The new single will be accompanied by beautiful music video, directed and produced by Thomas Jessen.

WNCL Recordings enters the next phase of its release programme. Having issued a neat collection of ten 10" singles, the label now launches a series of 4 track 12" EPs. First up is a showcase featuring 4 new cuts by 4 of the label's cornerstone artists. L.A's DON FROTH comes out fighting with the hard-as-nails LIFTIN' WEIGHTS, while MILYOO from Kentucky gets frantic on the raucous PANCAKE. SE27's own WEST NORWOOD CASSETTE LIBRARY offers up WHAT IT IS (MAH VIP), originally created for Mz. Hobbs' Radio 1 show. Rounding things off from Toronto, KNOWING LOOKS gives us CYTAL FINK, angular funk for all discerning discotheques. We hope you will enjoy our show.

For the second release on Alex Bradley's Utopia Records we see the return of London based producer Dominic Jacobson aka 'Modaji'. Dominic's initial Modaji and Harvey Lindo releases garnered acclaim from luminaries such as Francois Kevorkian, Derrick May and Gilles Peterson and after 10 years away from releasing to concentrate on composing music for film and television, Jacobson returns to the studio to delve further into his deep house and ambient soundscapes.
The first of two EP's, Belle Epoque touches on a more cinematic approach to production and showcases a warmer, more expanded sound.The aim is to create music that is as listenable during the dusky twilight hours as it is at sunrise. The rest we leave to your imagination and trust you will enjoy our offering.

The next Alien Jams 12" is from rkss, entitled Cutoff EP. These four tracks were recorded in 2014 within a period of two weeks, using a Juno-60 and Vermona Retroverb Lancet. Perhaps their most dance-able release to date, Cutoff interweaves aquarian dream-like electronics throughout soggy percussion and glistening chimes. Propelling the listener forward, rkss churns through water-logged signals, while synths cut through in gusts of euphoria.

Dubbed-out cosmic pastorals and politically exasperated techno-exotica from Blackest Ever Black's most secretive and shape-shifting project. Guest contributors include Conrad and Jonnine Standish of HTRK, Genevieve McGuckin (These Immortal Souls), and Lucas Santanna. The ghosts of Les Baxter, Rowland S. Howard and Nina Simone are also in attendance. But whoever is pulling the strings remains hidden...possibly in plain view. Structurally Wreck His Days recalls the grand collective statements of This Mortal Coil or Massive Attack, but musically its dreamlike overtures have more in common with Deux Filles, Global Communication, Arthur Russell, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Anthony Moore, even Robert Wyatt circa Old Rottenhat/Nothing Can Stop Us. It roams far and wide: from the lambent, near-Balearic piano loops of the title track, to the Audrey Horne-worthy death-jazz of 'Ghost From The Coast', and hulking, bass-heavy soundsystem weapon 'Reverberasia'. Side Two opens with the swelling, uplifting astral psychedelia of '...And I Tried So Hard', while 'I Beat As I Sleep As I Dream' reprises the bleak existential synth drift of T.T.W.F.U.'s extraordinary 2014 10', How Great A Fame Has Departed. A deep-seated socialist impulse drives the whole thing: with a dedication to women who have fought oppression throughout history, references to the Spanish Civil War and the UK Miners' Strike, and an overarching belief in the international ideal (in fact the closing 'Rosa / Kollontai' explicitly invokes the Internationale). Written and recorded over the course of 2014-15, Wreck His Days is a plea, or perhaps a requiem, for a world that embraces difference and upholds equality. Its contemporary relevance hardly needs emphasising.

"Next on Version is a remix set by the legend that is Benny Ill of Horsepower Productions. On the A-side you will find a stunning techno steppers rendition of Orson's "Rise 6". Check the B-side for Orson & Hops "Dread Drumz" getting Benny's unique jungle treatment. Both sides are tried and tested in the dance and have been rinsed on radio by respected DJs such as Kode9 and N-Type. Version 006 - the Benny Ill Remixes - is a true soundsystem weapon and will be a killer in any serious selector's war box."

Picking up from where their critically acclaimed 'Only You EP' left off, SpectraSoul keep the Ish Chat Music coming with the bruising 'Stock Sound EP'. Pushing further afield into darker territories, Jack and Dave offer up a stunning array designed for drum & bass aficionados across the globe.

Following on from the 'Only You' EP, we wanted to continue to showcase the diversity of what we've been working on in the studio. Off the back of the positive response to the first Ish Chat release, we felt more confident in pushing the boat out a little more to try to challenge people's perceptions, and expectations of our music.

The 'Stock Sound' EP is a return to a darker, more melancholy mood, whilst trying to retain a playfulness that we believe has been missing in recent times. Diversity is also key for us - this EP showcases a few of our dance floor ventures as well as a the more experimental end of the spectrum.

Musically we give a nod yet again to Bassbin with an EP reminiscent of Breakage's chilled but stepping roots vibes. The Rastafari EP is truly dread!
Having released on Threshold's Dub Clinique' and Stretch's AKO Beatz', Demented Soul is a name on the rise and his talent shines on this EP....

A withstanding imprint amongst the veteran style riddims of drum & bass, Dread Recordings is back with another EP to whet your old-school appetite. Leading the charge is Digital, an unparalleled artist with a dignified reputation. With 'Steady Eddie' he reaffirms this position between every jungle break.

An atmospheric sonic soundscape emerges throughout opening track 'Steady Eddie', one littered with clanking breakdowns. Underpinned by shaking sub and pounding kick, you're taken through a journey back in time, reminiscent of the earlier days, yet still etching out a contemporary flare. It serves as a signpost for what's to come, highlighting Dread's unbridled commitment to antiquity.

'Moody Runt' on the other hand comes at you with a lower frequency and floating samples. Introduced with blaring air horn, clinking hi-hats and a conveyor belt of drum patterns carry you forward. Cleverly cut up by stabbing beats, ethereal notes sift between its sheets. Rising and falling between each break, this adds to an even deeper feeling of unease. It's a trippy time machine, one which perfectly epitomises Digital's ingenuity.

Celebrating over two decades in the game, Hamilton returns with two furiously uncompromising slabs of bass. Yet again, Hamilton proves his production prowess, adding to his already impressive discography on Ram.
Up first is 'Bounce That', pushing through with an electrical energy and a refusal to sit in any given subgenre, a war cry signposting his arrival, Hamilton has created a dancefloor call to arms which packs a punch with every drop. On top of raw mechanical momentum, it's a sound driven rollercoaster, proving the perfect way to demonstrate his new era of production.
On the flipside, 'War' takes you into a murkier realm. Zipping lazers amongst industrial drums and vibrating basslines take you deeper into a deeper space, creating atmospherics which totally envelop you. Prodding stabs further add to the unrelenting composition, with female vocals slipping wryly between each segment. Once again, this sees Hamilton further adding to his skill set, whilst still playing homage to his roots.
A glowing example of the producer's journey, and one which is beginning to pick up momentum. Despite a short hiatus, he's back and proving more formidable than ever with his major LP project '22', this is not the last you'll hear from Hamilton in the coming future...

"Rundgång"(Feedback in Swedish) is a track made with feedback and i would call it A.O.T's very own and personal interpretation of Dubstep with "lyrics"that reflects his wicked sense of humor.
"Woot!"on the other hand is an evil excursion in filtered frequency noises and a distorted start/stop rhythm and this is nothing for the faint hearted so brace yourself you are in for a crazy trip verging on Techno.
The " (Go Koyashiki Remix)"takes remixing to another level because Go has stripped "Rundgång"to it's bare essentials and produced a very minimal and slow pulsating track that ends with sublime pianoplaying.

You reach a point in life where the question of how to stay at the top of your game looms; the only real solution being, you change the game. Our Love, the new album from Caribou, is the sound of Dan Snaith doing just that. Our Love is due October 6th on City Slang and is the sixth studio album from Caribou. The album features collaborations with Jessy Lanza and Owen Pallett. It was mixed by David Wrench and features artwork by Jason Evans/ Matthew Cooper.

Our Love is formed around a mixture of digital pop production, hip hop inspired beats, muted house basslines and a love of shuffling garage that can be traced all the way back to the time of Start Breaking My Heart which are, of course, all filtered through Dan's own unique perspective. The warm analogue sounds of classic soul should not be overlooked either, for they weave themselves most intensely into the records DNA. In fact, Our Love is probably Caribou's most soulful record to date, chock-full of heartfelt lyrics and organic nature which cuts through bubbling synths and blissful euphoria of their synthetic constructions. It's not all downbeat of course, whilst some thoughts linger on mortality, loss and letting go, there is always an element of celebration.

Having followed up his Polaris Prize winning 2007 record Andorra with the universally adored Swim in 2010 (selling nearly 175, 000 copies worldwide and being named 'Album of the Year' by Rough Trade, Mixmag and Resident Advisor whilst also hitting The Guardian, Pitchfork, Spin and Mojo's Top 20), Dan has spent the intervening four years not only touring the world, bringing not only the sounds of Caribou to the stage but proving his immeasurable worth as a DJ with epic 7.5 hour long sets. In 2012 Caribou were personally invited to join Radiohead on the road whilst Dan released his first album under the guise of his dance floor loving pseudonym, Daphni, to widespread critical acclaim. Following the shape shifting sounds of JIAOLONG and the brightly textured, fluid constructions of Swim - both inward looking records in their own way - Dan withdrew to the basement once more to work on Caribou's next opus. Only he didn't: Our Love isn't the sound of isolated creation but the sound of Dan at his most connected - with love for his listeners, his collaborators and those closest to him.

British composer and experimental music artist Christopher James Chaplin studied the piano with Irene Denereaz in Vevey/Switzerland before moving to London in the early 80ies. In 2009 he was invited by Viennese label Fabrique to collaborate with electronic musician KAVA on Seven Echoes', an album released in 2010 and presented live at the Art Brut Museum Gugging in Austria. There he met electronic music pioneer Hans-Joachim Roedelius (Cluster, Harmonia) who later invited Christopher to take part in a Late Junction session for BBC Radio 3. The result of this second collaboration eventually led to the album King of Hearts', released in 2012.

In the following years Christopher Chaplin and Hans-Joachim Roedelius performed around the world, these were largely improvised performances with Roedelius on piano and electronics, and Chaplin on synthesizers and orchestral samples. Amongst others they captivated audiences in Paris (Silencio), Sao Paulo (Sesc Belenzinho), Barcelona (Primavera Festival), Iceland (Extreme Chill Festival), Vienna (Casino Baumgarten, Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, Volkstheater), Linz (Lentos Kunstmuseum), Lunz am See (More Ohr Less Festival), Tiradendes (Mimo Festival), Madeira (MMiFF Festival) or Berlin (Akademie der Kunste and Haus der Kulturen der Welt).

October 2016 will see the release of Christopher Chaplin's first solo album "Je suis le Ténébreux , which has been partly recorded at AIR's Atlas Studio in Paris and various studios in the UK. It combines experimental musical influences around a sixteenth century text, an epitaph known as the Enigma of Bologna'. The album will also feature the voices of Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Christine Roedelius, French actress and soprano Judith Chemla and Italian tenor Pino Costalunga, as well as the text and voice of poet Claudia Schumann.

- The album is based on the Enigma of Bologna, a text in Latin from the XVI century inscribed on a tombstone near Bologna, Italy. The text describes a man named Lucius Agatho Priscius and a mysterious woman named Aelia Laelia Crispis. Not much can be said about the enigma, other than it holds a certain fascination. As André Pieyre de Mandiargues once put it: beware of resolving the enigma of the stone, lest it loses its power. Christopher Chaplin, 2016.

The idea of the very sensual and archaic - Orgien Mysterien Theater was developed in the late 50s and is performed in variations untill today.
Nitsch works out all settings of the rituals, the feast in great detail, precisely composes days of art, performance, food, wine and music - to celebrate the existence of mankind

This is a track we signed in our early days back in 2009, when Infest was just starting to make his mark in certain D&B circles. Fresh from his release on Paradox's Outsider compilation "The Age Of Outsiders Vol.2", we quickly snapped up "Mercury" along with "Rising Son" for our third digital release. Fast forward to 2016 we think this one deserves a limited vinyl pressing.

Another tune from 2009, and without doubt Law's darkest solo production, Emptiness Is Form moves like a ninja in the shadows, taking samples from cult flick Ghost Dog, alongside paranoid strings and cutting razor sharp breaks. Paying tribute to the dark atmospheres of Intense and Source Direct, Emptiness Is Form demanded the move from digital to vinyl.

With Human Energy, Travis Stewart (aka Machinedrum) has made a career-defining album, one which will take him from best-keptsecret of the electronic music cognoscenti to breakout star of the US music scene. Written between January and April 2016, the record "reflects a period of great change in my life. Egyptian Lover is a legendary west coast hip-hop pioneer from the days before Gangsta Rap. We're reissuing his groundbreaking 'Egypt, Egypt' single as a custom-made pyramid, to be followed by an Egyptian Lover anthology.

Born Greg Broussard, Egyptian Lover was a rapper, DJ, producer and record label owner who was hugely influenced by the New York electro scene, as well as by the electro-funk of Zapp. He made flat-out party music backed with a Roland 808: dynamite for the dance-floor. He began with Uncle Jamm's Army - rocking dance parties of 10,000 people at the L.A. Sports Arena - then made his own impact as a solo artist.

'Egypt, Egypt,' his first single, released in 1984, was an L.A. anthem. It is backed with 'Girls,' taken from On The Nile, one of the first full length hip-hop albums from the left coast, released on his own label Egyptian Empire Records. These early works have become staples of electro sets across the world.

Stones Throw has collected these and other recordings, many from the original 2-inch master tapes, for the vinyl anthology Egyptian Lover 1983-1988, coming in 2016.

After the success of his 'Backwards Light' EP Slackk returns to R&S with another 6 tracker of instrumental grime mutations.
A figurehead of the UK scene through the influential Boxed night he runs alongside Mr. Mitch, Logos and Oil Gang, Slackk aka Paul Lynch distils the Boxed sound into his own inimitable, richly melodic style. The six tracks on offer on this EP continue to blur the lines between genres as RA described in their glowing review of the Backwards Light EP. 'A producer whose music is moving beyond its origins in grime to something undiscovered.'
The tracks range from the opening moody club styles of 'Swan Filters' and twisted bass of Mumdance and Logos favourite 'Skeleton Crew' to the more reserved and delicate headphone moments of 'Replenish' and 'Pigeons'. 'Hundred Flute' returns a common Slackk inspiration source into the sampler, but the results on this one could be the best yet. 'Returning Geese' finishes the EP in what could be one of the producers last examples of the Japanese styles for a while. R&S and Boxed will be teaming up to host a stage at this years Bloc festival featuring Slackk, Lone, Logos, Lakker, Appleblim, Second Strorey & Mr. Mitch.

Avesom (name inspired by the dog of Justin Bennett, the sound technician that mixed the album) are creations produced during long reharsals sessions that have taken place mostly during sunsets and late nights. There Torakiki inmersed themselves in a trip where the music achievable with their own finger was tested, rejecting in advance any programming.
The overall sound of the album follow the path of the previous EP, halfway between the new wave and ambient . The band aims references from Aphex Twin, Liars, Jamie XX and on the other side, classical sounds from the Italian song. In the album participate the voice of Ilaria Ippolito (# #Pap ) and of G ulia Olivari (O .A.U .). The video of Luxard was shot by Giovanni Aloi in a park in Hong Kong.
Torakiki filled the pieces of A vesom with a strong dynamic identity, combining the creative impulses of the three minds and their respective backgrounds. This is a process that questions the logic through a frenetic impulse that provokes constant changes, even though the final result are attainable and catchy songs.

A journey to the moon that began fifteen years ago now reaches another milestone - 15 years, one and a half decades, over 150 individual releases, many many artists, countless professional relationships but also friendships along the way. Many many stories and shared memories - not all of them good, not all of them bad either. While modern space age technology would make it possible to reach the moon's surface a lot faster, for us it is not only about moving forward as quickly as possible, but also to turn around, look back and around ourselves and to reflect on everything that happened and is happening. This is why we have such a broad range of artists guesting on our latest compilation. Some that have been part of the voyage from its earliest stages, others that have been with us for major milestones along the way, and even more that might move ahead with us into new and unchartered musical regions.
Working with Dave McKean - a true legend, especially for anyone into comic illustrations - wraps up this whole trip in the sweetest way. Not only is it a big honour, but - in a way - it completes the circle, as Dave has been a major influence for the label's artworks from its earliest beginnings already.

* Blessed Initiative is a project by Yair Elazar Glotman, which suggests a dissonant, coexistent state of extreme highs and lows. The album attempts to articulate a mental state of simultaneity, in which equilibrium is fleeting, fragile, and its scarcity is embraced. Opposite states coincide, contrast and reflect, creating moments of uncertainty and insecurity. Absurdity and at times even bliss are possible results, in the attempt to channel anxiety into creative forces rather than debilitating ones. In an environment where personas are the sums of the images they project, sounds are also no longer evidence of invention but of ever-changing combination, curation, and editing. The final persona is a sum of the chosen and the deleted, as well as what may be projected from outside, creating a confusing and conflicted self. The sounds collected here are attempts to compose on these uncertain grounds, and to reflect the anxiety released in all these sources' meeting and interaction. As a singular project, Blessed Initiative stops to comment on the conditions that inform Glotman's composition before and after it, and to acknowledge it as a non-linear, ongoing process.

* The focus on process and uncertainty is apparent in the album's phrasing, re-articulation and cycles of repetition and deviation. The pieces were composed from sounds generated on the KYMA system, personal foley recordings as well as tape manipulations techniques. Minor sounds on major scales and micro-tonal tuning suggest an ambiguous harmonic sphere. These were then integrated within idiosyncratic rhythmic structures, at times integrating real spaces and resonating bodies as reverb and augmented echo chambers. Concrete, almost-recognizable organic sounds contrast with these abstract spaces and connect them to tactile experiences. These textures and structures are a palette that reforms and deforms as it cycles throughout the album.

* The photographic series "Relax (blue)", 2004, by the artist Josephine Pryde was chosen for the album's cover as a materialization of tension. The two images represent a closed cycle of energy and unfulfilled release.

* Yair Elazar Glotman is a classically trained musician and sound artist based in Berlin whose previous works on Subtext include the LP 'Études' and a collaboration with James Ginzburg titled Nimbes.

Machine Code showcase once again their deeply honed skill in crafting a 4 track EP that shatters expectations. A relentless journey into deep space, where the ravers can't hear your scream.

The 'Alfur' EP is the second in the trilogy of records written by individual members of the Old Apparatus collective, which will be released in three month-by-month instalments. 'Alfur', produced by A. Levitas, offers a view of the rusted Old Apparatus universe from another angle; a suite of songs that weave together deep feeling and influence into a complex and very listenable EP, built for deep listening at loud volumes. 'Alfur' is a mystical, deeply atmospheric five track set, recalling the spooked ambience of Third Eye Foundation and earlier Tricky material, with gauzy layers filtered through electronica and hip hop's modern digital mechanics. The EP opens with the ambient birdsong, skewered chorales, and stumbling beats of 'Boxcat', then slides into 'Schwee' with its hazy stew of chilly, sustained chords, pitchshifted vocals and smudgy kicks. Opening side two, 'Cauliroot' mixes shimmering distant bells, jungle atmospherics, dubbed out drums and big bass. Next, 'Coalapps' sounds like the rainy shoegaze of Slowdive or Jesu rubbing up against 2-step influenced electronica, before 'Lingle' closes proceedings with lulling pitchshifted loops of voices over a slow, marching beat, marking a strange and dreamy outro to another great addition to the increasingly remarkable Old Apparatus canon.

For more than a decade, Jimmy Edgar has experimented in sound structure and design, utilising an array of digital and analog hardware to release delphic signings on Warp, !K7 and Hotflush. After launching his enigmatic label Ultramajic in 2013, the Detroit born space cadet delves into mystic philosophy with his latest metaphysical embodiment.

Following on from Lando's July release, the forthcoming EP 'Shine' sees a continuation in pulsating chunky house chords with an industrialised varnish. Together this amazing collective explores the realms of BigBeat, Downtempo, TripHop and Electro on a stunning 14-track gatefold double LP that introduced elements of Jazz and World Music to the electronic scene many years before these influences became widely recognized in the electronic mainstream. The two instrumental albums issued by Syrinx in the early 1970s sound little like the psychedelic music prevailing Toronto's rock venues at the time, and are even further removed from the electronic tape experimentations spooled by a younger John Mills-Cockell. Instead, the path of Syrinx whimsically veers away from the dominant mode of '70s subculture, charting surprising commercial success. Tumblers From The Vault presents their entire recorded legacy, reviving the story of Syrinx and sharing their memorable, mind-bending melodies. The musicians behind Syrinx were composer and keyboardist John Mills-Cockell, saxophonist Doug Pringle, and percussionist Alan Wells. All three were young veterans of the Toronto creative scene by the beginning of 1970.

LSD played a supporting role in their artistic pursuits, but equal guidance also came from Mills-Cockell's studies at the University of Toronto and Royal Conservatory of Music, where he established an ad-hoc, DIY electronic music course in the school's basement. After the dissolution of Intersystems, a rogue, multimedia ensemble established by Mills-Cockell , John journeyed to Canada's west coast to work on an album of original synth-based compositions. Pringle was enlisted to color outside the music's already adventurous lines, his sinuous, signal-processed saxophone adding another electrifying voice to Syrinx's signature sound.

A sound that hybridized chamber music dynamics with wild, yet tuneful electronic melodicism. With Alan Wells' understated percussion rolled into the fold, what started as a solo venture for Mills-Cockell became a new kind of collective. From these coastal sessions were conjured exemplary pieces like Journey Tree' and Hollywood Dream Trip,' both plaintive and serene expressions of Mills-Cockell's economical arrangements, and also Syrinx's restrained and expert use of their electronic resources. Syrinx's self-titled debut arrived in 1970, followed in 1971 by Long Lost Relatives, which is highlighted as the first album on Tumblers From The Vault.

Between the two albums, Syrinx became a vital part of the Toronto music scene, with Doug Pringle's loft serving as the central node for impromptu performances and the group's collaborative activities. Syrinx also started receiving high profile work, first for television, film, and dance, and then for orchestra. One commission culminated commercially in Tillicum', the unforgettable theme music for pioneering reality television show Here Come the Seventies.

With guest turns on every track, Georgia explore a new approach to studio production, incorporating the sounds of world and jazz music into their digital funk and combining and processing improvisation and composed elements to create a unified, distinct voice. This approach can be heard on Ama Yes Uzume,' as a primally incandescent vocal from Caroline Polachek (Chairlift) blends with glistening waves of piano and synth to form a euphoric rhythm that materializes out of curved air. Blending live performance with sampling and editing, Georgia constantly revise and revisit their work, breaking down, collaging, and
refracting sounds.

On lead track Slow Dance,' vocals by performance artist India Menuez waft over a loping bass line
(sampled from a performance by Matt Werth of RVNG) while digital flutes cluster in the background. The outcome is a kind of new age mutant funk, not unlike the sound of Annette Peacock or 23 Skidoo jamming in the studio with Jon Hassell. Additional collaborators include avant-garde harpist Mary Lattimore, saxophonist Wednesday Knudsen, and Gabonese vocalist Abang Essone Sarah Maya. As the title suggests, this is music of many multitudes.

IRAH makes a particular brand of alternative pop inspired by everything from traditional ceremonial music to modern melodic songwriting. The three members find creative power in their spiritual awareness and their music have a truly unique ability to both create feelings of unity with the audience as well as a sense of being part of something bigger.
In the past year IRAH have performed select shows in Denmark, always to full houses and critical acclaim. Media has highlighted their unique and intense presence in the music on stage. Earlier this spring their first single also entitled Into Dimensions' was released and was described by The Line of Best Fit as "An incredible, epic debut single" and soon followed the song Mirroring' which has enjoyed airplay on several key stations around Europe.

"Lord Tang presents, EP 3, the third and final EP of the trilogy he has put together for Alarm and Gigante Sound. A journey that began in 2014 is now at an end. In this selection, Dominic Cramp, Lord Tang's producer, extends the dubbed out sound he has been mining into a more minimal, focused sonic territory, all the while pushed through the blender of dirt and grit that has characterized the series. Beginning with the short introductory piece 'Eight Nine', Cramp continues the surrealist journey he began two years ago, Disembodied voices count the two numbers as a stripped down beat ticks along underneath an off-time analog sequence. During the making of the EP, Cramp gained access to an old 8 channel analog mixing board with a built-in reel-to-reel. Only half the channels worked and those that did each had their own character and failings! 'Moon Shoes' was mixed entirely on the board and shows its cracks on its sleeve. On other tracks such as, 'Light Beam Walker', the clavinet is run through repeated passes and then through a tape delay to give it a saturated sense of havoc. The surrealism of his previous records is pushed further into a traditional dub with 'The General' , a skanking organ affair over a walking bass that keeps turning back on itself.

Amidst the lush environs of his northwest roots, Manatee Commune has fermented an organically molded electronic sound that has been teasing the synapses of audiophiles over the last few years. While not a stranger in the Pacific Northwest, Grant Eadie's tracks have grown tentacles that stretch deep into the dance floor, fueled by natural overtones that he extracts from field recordings. Following the head-turning EP 'Thistle' on Brooklyn-based label Bastard Jazz Recordings (Illa J, Lord Echo, & others) from earlier this year, he comes to the label armed with violin arrangements, nuanced programming and pressure-sensitive LED drum breaks peppering the audio-visual experience of his participatory live performances. His debut album Manatee Commune is set for a September 16th release on Bastard Jazz, and displays the elevated confidence and deft touch of a producer truly finding his footing. Already opening for Bonobo, and recently touring with Chad Valley and Blackbird Blackbird, Manatee Commune has been featured on NPR, Stereogum, and Spin, amongst other outlets.

Eadie describes the inspiration behind his approach: "Learning how to share my creative process with my friends completely revolutionized the last of year of music for me. Inviting those I trusted and loved into my studio to spend even just an hour talking or jamming opened fountains of inventive energy for me, especially from the ones who lacked any musical knowledge. I soon found myself incredibly inspired by the originality of even the smallest interactions with people, and so I pointed my field mic at anyone who had a story, a melody, or a stumbling beat they had been absentmindedly drumming, all in the hopes of capturing their individuality and framing it with my ever expanding insight into audio production."

Reimagining his musical approach by opening his studio and microphone to friends, collaborators and loved ones, Eadie was able to release fountains of inventive energy from these deeply personal interactions, inspired by anybody who had a story, a melody or a stumbling beat to share. Key elements are amplified that get Manatee Commune audiences bouncing, while cultivating his warm and textured production aesthetic to further complexity, layer by shimmering layer.

Charlie P is best known for his reggae and dancehall releases, so this grimey countdown of his rules of the dance comes as a
surprise. The vocal is superbly matched with productions that span the worlds of Soundsystem including two of the most exciting producers around. Mungo's Hi Fi start their side with a digital riddim that creeps into more progressive sounds. Kahn's production is darker with almost eastern atmospherics and is heavyweight as you would imagine.

The label's first reference, HOODED001, is a two tracks EP called "Los Dinosaurios" by Personal Mythologies. The two cuts have been recorded from live improvs by the artist. The A Side, homonym to the title of the EP is a slow, rugged and abrasive techno jam that passes the 11 minutes mark. The second extract, "Cuando Los Dinosaurios Dominan La Tierra" is an ambient odissey of fourteen minutes that features a static melody around which different melodic and rhythmic elements are developed.

Threshold grew up listening to roots, reggae and hip-hop, and quickly gravitated towards the turntables.
In the 90's, influenced by Manix and 4Hero, he discovered hardcore / jungle, playing on stations such as Storm FM, Upfront & Flex FM, which respectively lead to engineering & production.

During this time he worked as an engineer for the legendary Eskimo Noise which provided the install for Metalheadz renowned 'Blue Note Sessions' and a little later started releasing with signings under the name 'Special Branch'. Early 2000 also saw signings to fundamental label Reinforced alongside Breakage and also under a separate alias 'Espionage'. 15 years on and Threshold is a firm fixture in the Rupturecrew & still true to the roots jungle sound, releasing music on Rupture LDN, Foundation X and his own imprint Dub Clinique

Cavernous Heart - The sound of a beating heart sets the tone on this track, which has a dark yet a very emotional, almost sinister feel to it. Without a doubt, this one will take over your mind and soul as the beats take you on a journey.

Blizzard - This track was a very long time in the making, with Threshold trying to work his drum funk around the

vocal. Anyone who understands production and drum pattern editing will know just how much blood, sweat and tears has been put into it.

Berlin based duo Africaine 808 will release their debut album 'Basar' via NY imprint Golf Channel (home to Mark E, Juju & Jordash and DJ Nature) in January next year.

'Basar' pushes their divine blend of West African bass and rhythms, disco, island-funk and house to newer heights. Their deep and timeless debut is about 'Freedom and Freedom only' and is an album that reaches for the party Arthur Russell was talking about when he said 'I wanna see all my friends at once.'

Africaine 808 are Dirk Leyers, formerly one half of Closer Musik, and Berlin DJ and established artist Nomad. The pair met in Berlin at the city's annual summer techno demonstration Fuckparade in 2000, where they caught the infamous 'Techno Viking' scene live as it unfolded. Nomad got his first drum aged 6 years old, from a church collective yard sale. Now an avid collector of African influenced musical styles, from South African Shangaan to Westafrican Funk, his rhythmic quest has lead him to study and explore African and world music for almost 3 decades. The Africaine 808 project grew out of Nomad's Vulkandance parties, a melting pot of African, Latin, and Caribbean club music.

The title 'Basar' comes from the ancient term for 'oriental marketplace", a place to experience a multitude of impressions with your senses. Like an exotic marketplace, 'Basar' is filled with different sights and sounds around every corner. From the deep and mystical 'NGONI' which takes West African music to the rave with wobbling bass and hints of 90s ethno-dub to the killer squirmer of a bassline on 'Language of the Bass ft. Alex Voices' which keeps things heavy but nimble whilst recapturing UK bass histrionics. The smokey, soulful tones of OFRIN on 'Ready For Something New' offers a mystical downbeat gem. Whereas 'Basa Basa' takes it back to the dancefloor for a sweaty rhythmic number that bounces off the walls with it's tribal funk groove. Recent 12' single 'Rhythm Is All You Can Dance' also makes an appearance, wedding funk, earthy rhythms and frenzied African grooves to the gurgle of an 808.

The duo made their debut back in 2013 with 'Tummy Tummy', which featured on Will Speculators W.T. Recordings compilation "DJ MUSCLE." The following year Golf Channel put out "Lagos New York." Pairing New York flecked disco with West African bass and rhythms, "Lagos New York" made for one of 2014's most essential electronic releases.

Drawing from a wide range of influences including Konflict, The Prodigy and The Crystal Method, the Hungarian producer has been producing hit after hit for the last eleven years, with his very first release being snapped up by none other than Black Sun Empire.

A new addition to the Innamind family has arrived in the form of Karma. With releases on Vivek's always instabag worthy SYSTEM and Goth-Trad's amazing Back to Chill 'Mugen' compilation, Innamind clearly knows what's up with the young producer. With IMRV014, Karma doesn't disappoint with three long time dubplates for another Innamind winner, and like the past few releases, LAS contributes some stellar artwork for IMRV014.

'Heal' is a ruff and ready steppa that's slathered in spring reverb and arcing, melancholic synth washes that scan the night skies of the world cities as a Rasta elder utters blessings of healing over all the nations of the Earth. After the second drop, rootical nyabhingi burns down Babylon, bringing with it the fall of the wicked ones and the psychic vampires.

'Rumble Fish' sounds like it should be Innamind's sister label Blacklist, with its more concertina wire textures and tones and kaleidoscopic samples - jungle noises, what seems to be a pitched up string sample, and other dissonant ephemera - meanwhile the sub bass oscillates and quivers for a full body sensory experience that would be perfect for the Tsunami Bass Sound System.

Closing out IMRV014, Karma teams up with Japanese comrade in sound Dubtro for 'Flee in the Fog' which swirls amongst dubspace and most likely a busted Electro-Harmonix phaser. With melodic percussion detailing and spacey atmospherics enveloping the body and mind, everything is thrown askew midway through as a heart-on-sleeve diapason emerges, building the dance into a cathartic outpouring that is both supremely joyful and heartbreakingly sad at the same time.

20 year old Sheffield based producer Jack Chapman AKA Lloyd SB spans multiple genres, moods and BPMs on 'Boida Flare', his debut EP via London collective Nervous Horizon.
"The release contains tracks I made within the last couple of months to almost two years ago. It feels good to see these tracks side by side on the same release as you can see how I've developed my sound over time and experimented with different tempos. I came up with the name for 'Boida Flare' after watching a Boi-1da interview on YouTube where he spoke about artists having their own individual flair. It's more of a name I gave for the palette of sounds I've made, similar to a collective noun. But then I adapted the spelling to link in the Wiley vocals before the drop 'I light up the dance'...'I told you before I'm a top boy'."
After early support from Murlo, Slackk, Scratcha DVA and Plastician, his first track 'X-Out' was released on the very respected Boxed001 compilation. He joins the Nervous Horizon crew after signing '3 x 23' to their Vol 1 compilation last summer. He recently played the Nervous Horizon Boiler Room session curated by Sound Pellegrino's Teki Latex, another big supporter of his music.
With the title track seeing early support by Kode 9 on BBC Radio 1, the EP features a multitude of productions with influences ranging from grime to techno, a collaboration with Wallwork, 'The Portal', and a percussive remix of 'Pirate Bay' by TSVI.
