Hammer '86 by The SM Corporation (sws003) will be available as a limited edition 12" vinyl. The package also includes a download code for the Hill Street OST (sws004) by Great Lakes Mystery.

Recorded in 1986 but unreleased until now, Hammer is an electropop record underpinned by an industrial baseline and metallic percussion. The band recorded the track using metal workshop implements, on a cheap Yamaha keyboard with an attached microphone.

The Seahawks mix of 'I've Been Around' pushes the boundaries of the psychedelic elements to create a truly tripped out version with fractured vocals and a simple cantering groove and adding elevating synth chords and subtle brass to coax the listener in and lifting the track towards the heavens gate.

Neil Diablo flips 'Lady of the Westway' and has created a deeper vision for the track, underpinned with tougher percussion this has the 'Lady' walking the empty streets of (INSERT CITY HERE) at 4am on a Spring morning as the sun is rising... Neil works well with Robins 'cello arrangement and enhances it with powerful accompanying chords and chopped vocal refrains.

Last but certainly not least we have B.J. Smiths 10m + excursion, built with the DJ in mind and those twilight Adriatic dance floors Ben adds solid rock chords and added hammond vibes give this an edge and chugging that builds before dropping off for that 'calm before the storm' moment... After its peaked and reached its crescendo the fade out is pure DJ heaven, the haunting vocals continuing for the mix out... Lovely.

Mirror System's 'N-Port' album presents a strong evolution of the deeper and more introspective side of System, with a unique, dreamy, deep electronic house sound that oozes class. Nozinja is Richard Mthetwa, an electronic music producer based in the Limpopo province of South Africa, and the charismatic architect of the Shangaan electro sound. From its roots as the frantic heartbeat of Nozinja's rural locale, where dancers convene at weekly street parties, bouncing on their heels and shaking their bell-like xibelani skirts in the ferocious heat, Shangaan electro has become a recognised genre in its own right, a burgeoning, radicalising influence on dance music worldwide. Explosive, ecstatic and celebratory, it's the head-spinning collision of the soulful traditional song of the Shangaan people with the high-speed energy and limitless possibilities of cutting-edge music production, and it has ensnared the ears and limbs of dancers, beatmakers and DJs alike.
Micachu is the stage name of Mica Levi, a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist. Levi's music, experimental pop, is a boundary-blurring mix of hip-hop-tinged beats, found sound samples, singalong melodies, rock guitar, and the odd vacuum cleaner or two. Micachu is now producing music with old school friend, Tirzah who has released some of the most intriguing dance-pop to date.

Mumdance, aka Jack Adams, a producer and DJ from Brighton, whose trademark raw, riotous rhythms - drawn from Grime, UK funky, Brazilian baile funk, Caribbean calypso, American Baltimore Gutter, Afro-beat, High life, and Latin ghetto music such as tribal guarachero - have been electrifying dancefloors worldwide over the last couple of years, providing him with a hectic DJ schedule which criss-crosses the globe from Australia, Mexico, North America, Europe & all over the UK.

It's been nearly six years since their previous full length Dying in Time (n5MD) and not counting compilation appearances, remix and rarities anthology 2011s 2000-2010: The Golden Age Of Consumerism (n5MD) and the Diamat album that port-royal architect Attilio Bruzzone orchestrated in 2013 port-royal has appeared somehow eerily silent. We now know that they've been very hard at work.

The old adage that good things come to those who wait has never been more true. Where Are You Now spans the six year gap effortlessly with the band's familiar and reoccurring themes ever looming while adding newer complimentary components to their soaring tapestries. Such elements are present in the pop shimmer of tracks like "Death of a Manifesto" and "Alma M." to the more muscular almost industrialized beat mangling included in select sections of "Karl Marx Song" and "Theodor W. Adorno".

To those that may be worried at such additions, they, in port-royal's hands, are now inseparable components with the band's already signature blend of post- rock, dream-pop and dance music.

Boddika's Nonplus label will release a series of 12-inches mixing classic Source Direct with new remixes.

Jim Baker is a pioneering drum & bass and jungle artist who's been recording solo as Source Direct since 1999 (before then the project was a duo with Phil Aslett). On June 8th Nonplus will issue a 12-inch that has a Blawan remix of "Black Rose" alongside the 1996 original. That'll be followed by a record featuring '95 cut "Approach & Identify" backed by a remix from Demdike Stare. These release will be available on vinyl and digital formats—it'll be the first time the original tunes have been available digitally.

"I first met Jim around '97/'98 at The End nightclub in Central London," Boddika told RA. "I wasn't sure who he was when I first met him. I thought he was one of the guys from Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels at first, but soon realised he wasn't. By that time I was an avid listener of anything Source Direct were doing and their tracks were 'buy on sight' for me. The Source Direct discography was in many ways a blueprint for lots of jungle/d&b that would come throughout the following years and has stood the test of time unbelievably well."

He adds: "There are a few reasons why we decided to re-release and remaster the SD Recordings catalogue, the first one being that it's never been available digitally before. The second is that we both think it's something that needs to be heard by a new generation who have never had the privilege and who may not own a turntable. Some of the records are hard to come by these days and if you do find them on Discogs, they'll set you back a few quid.

Thirdly, it's something we've spoken about a few times over the last couple of years and I personally thought now is a better time than ever to unleash this project, especially as there's been a growing interest in old jungle recently—it wouldn't be right to leave this music out of the loop! We also wanted to breathe new life into the project by getting remixes done to accompany the original tracks. We decided to ask artists from different scenes and genres to make use of the samples and get their interpretations on the original music."

More remix 12-inches will follow, culminating with most of the Source Direct back catalogue, much of which has never been made available digitally, being remastered and re-released. We spoke with Baker via email to discuss the project.

What are your thoughts on having your music remastered and reissued for a new generation of listeners

I'm extremely excited about working with Boddika. This gives a new generation the chance to own tracks that haven't been available until now and also introduces the Source Direct sound into the techno/deep house scenes—music I've always been a fan of and an avid buyer of since an early age. I always felt my music was ahead of its time, even within the early years of D&B. The Source Direct sound has always stood out from the crowd and I've consistently pushed myself creatively to produce original, cutting-edge club music that also sounds great within many other listening environments. So to release the original Source Direct tracks for this new generation who missed the golden years of infamous clubs and raves gives them the opportunity to re-live the excitement and energy I got from going out in my younger days and the chance enjoy that buzz of getting your hands on a new vinyl release.

What do you think of the Demdike Stare and Blawan remixes

Blawan's remix of "Black Rose" perfectly captures the dark tensions of the original track and uses the samples in new creative ways, which make a stomping techno track that retains the menacing visual concept of the original. Being the first artist to remix a Source Direct track is something I was looking forward to, and Blawan has certainly produced a great remix. Both the remix and the re-mastered original sound totally fresh and unique among current techno and D&B.

Demdike Stare have completely ripped up the script with their remix of "Approach & Identify," taking it into realms I never thought possible. It transports you a million light years away, upon which you enter new worlds of imagination. You can only hope for a wormhole 'out there' to return to normality. I'm very proud of both these releases and am looking forward to letting the future projects free within human kind.

Here's the thing about Denzel + Huhn. They treat sound like nobody else. Everything is precious, worthy to be recorded, archived, digitalized, processed and eventually to be spit out again. On a record like "Brom". Denzel + Huhn's rst one
since 2007.I don't remember how we originally met, who introduced us to each other, so let's just assume that we bumped into each other somewhere in Berlin around the millenium change. CDs were exchanged and I immediately liked Bertram Denzel and Erik Huhn, their quirky smiles and their serious ideas about music and frequencies and why all this still mattered while everyone else voluntarily chained themselves to the danceoor. I was also deeply impressed by Bertram's belt buckle. Serious business. No doubt about it.I ended up releasing 3 records of Denzel + Huhn on "City Centre Ofces", a label I was running at the time together with my good friend Shlom Sviri, who is the man in charge of boomkat.com, one of the best online stores for quality music. You'll nd 2 of these records on your favorite streaming or download sites. The rst one they released, "Filet", a mini album only available on vinyl, is painfully missing, because we had never secured a digital master. Those were the days.

Nicolas Jaar and Lunch re-issue Lydia's classic early spoken word CD C.O.W. (1990) on vinyl on his label Other People. Includes the new remix of Why Was I Born An Americanfeaturing Weasel Walter's invasion.

In May 2013 at a nondescript Seattle space called 1927 Events, twothirds of Magic Mountain High—Germany's David Moufang (aka Move D) and the Netherlands' Jordan Czamanski of Juju & Jordash—teamed up for a live performance that made everyone in the room feel privileged to have witnessed it. It was the kind of set during which you say to yourself, 'I hope to hell somebody's recording this.' Thankfully, somebody was doing just that, and the 99minute Live In Seattle is the sterling result. People throw around the word 'deep' to describe electronic music with cavalier frequency, but in the case of Moufang and Czamanski (who also records as Jordan GCZ), that adjective barely encapsulates the kind of fathomless sound they create. Their work as Magic Mountain High—which includes Juju &Jordash's Gal Aner—combines the two artists' springloaded, psychedelic techno and libidostokinghouse, exponentially multiplying their propulsive and disorienting qualities. Live In Seattle captures them working at the zenith of their improvisational powers for a rabid crowd—despite their European gear not functioning and having to use unfamiliar equipment, which is a testament to the pair's ability to create and adjust on the fly.The show begins with anticipatory cymbal taps and a beautifully morose melodica motif that wouldn't sound out of place in an Ennio Morricone soundtrack. A few minutes in, faint pulses enter earshot and a minute later the clapenhanced beats and synth bass burst into the forefront to form a strutting midtempo rhythm with a subliminal drone swirling beneath it.

The one and only Radio Slave is back on RB. This time with retro futuristic breakbeat-house and -techno. Children of the E comes in two mixes for different moods and some locked grooves for double copy wizardry. Inspired by the London warehouses of yesterday, fuelled by Evian bottles and made in a fog horn frenzy. Or as the man himself puts it: 'Matt Edwards goes back to his roots with children of the e: Just another white kid from Catford". Ultimately, we're all children of the e(arth)!

Ryo Murakami is now ready to launch his new project/label 'Depth of Decay' and its first release is his own debut album. The music on the album is so deep and carefully constructed that trying to describe it may seem pointless. This album is obviously a challenging piece of art that will change your evaluation of Ryo

after two years of abstinence, senking takes us again into the depths of his musical creativity with his new record »closing ice«.the nine tracks of the album are intently dedicated to his distinctively bass-heavy and atmospheric compositions and the trips into the dark recesses of the human psyche.the mid-tempo grooves leave plenty of room for his sawing, war-declaring sounds that are unfolding expressive and gloomy but nevertheless warm soundscapes. every now and then, like a distant echo, a pacifying melodic fragment gives comfort and hope. however, the very open and seemingly improvised songs always follow their inner musical logic. »serpent« or »lighthouse hustle«, for example, could indeed be interpreted as conventional arrangements. and anyway, the riffs and melodies on »closing ice« are rooted in a profound tradition of rock and pop music.with »closing ice«, senking delivers exactly what the title promises: a balancing act between danger, hope and destruction, this record is an eerily beautiful companion into the innermost spheres.

Limited to 150 numbered copies Pink Vinyl pressing. Somewhere over western Europe, an un-identified falling object crashed landed causing a massive bang, and a ginormous Banana shaped smoke cloud. Frederic, a local artistic young chap was so inspired by this hilariously funny giant cloud that covered the whole sky as far as he could see; he ran indoors to take cover, and wrote a little summer step d&b beat, called 'Laughing at Clouds' - which seemed to draw a lot of attention. Out of the studio window, Frederic could see what seemed to be a pink giraffe giving it some serious head-nodding action. By the second drop Leonard (The pink giraffe) was dancing so heavily that he caused a small tremor somewhere over in the states, where young up & coming producer Melo seemed to pick up the transmission. While in his sonic laboratory he managed to transfer his latest project (Affirmation) through the current, where Frederic decided to make his first remix project, which pretty much made Leonard pass out after all the summer stepping....

After the worldwide success of the "Galaxy of Dreams" album earlier this year, Liquicity Records is back with a fresh EP by the Dutch youngster Maduk. In this EP Maduk is combining the dance floor vibes in "Believe" with the mellow and soulful "Kings & Queens" on the flip side.

Beside the label, Liquicity has also set a huge step in their events this year. With sold out parties in Amsterdam and Antwerp, owners Maris and Mark can look back on a successful year for Liquicity.

A genuinely unique project; Fundamental's Alex Stark created this highly limited and beautifully presented project via his love for Cygnus. This led to Biosoft Records which led to the discovery of Patronen, a man who made two album's worth of material (and probably more) on analogue machines in the early 90s and refuses to move from shadows. Twin Paradox celebrates this prolific, formative work across two albums. With the classic electro angularities and epic synthetic cosmicity are very much of their time, there's an overwhelming sense of timelessness and relevance to the project too. We reckon if you listen to cuts such as the poignant, reflective "Abstand" or the distorted, shuffling phrases and positive harmonics of "Karlsruhe Nach Basel" in 20 years time, they'll still sound just as icy and futuristic. We also reckon you need to jump on this investment now! With only 100 printed, this will sell out very quickly.

An expertly crafted exercise in brooding tension, 'Lie Detection's jaw tightening atmospherics colour it's half step fundamentals with morse code chatter, hyper decayed vocals and fading feedback traces to knife edge effect.
'Brainstem's position on the flipside maintains it's partners coiled spring arrangement but ramps up the aggression with a half swung / half stomped groove that articulates a more immediate brand of menace while losing nothing in the way of intricacy.

After having released his debut album 'Beauty is Imperfection' on diametric. in 2014 and a very successful contribution to John Beltran's compilation 'Music for Machines' for Delsin Records shortly after, it is with great pleasure to present the second album 'Silencer'. David Nizet has created another beautiful body of work, giving us another glimpse into his melancholic world. Now that the final chapter on Barnt´s Pavlovian epic called 'Geffen' (Cómeme 013) isn´t closed yet, this fairytale of a Janus-faced smash hit has already taught us a lovely lesson to remember forever: How to exquisitely capture the full yin and yang of the sublime and the lunatic in one piece of joy. 'Geffen' was yelled at, taken as a fraud or as a piano tuner´s exercise. Séance, slapstick, great Techno swindle - one couldn´t quite tell. People were perplexed. Was that even proper music Yes and no is the answer, since it seriously yet hilariously showed us how to stay away from the boredoms of knob-infatuated 'properness'. Who is this Barnt people kept asking. A charlatan, a puppeteer - some heir of Dr. Benway or Prof. Calculus Does he really know what he is doing Well, it´s with his new EP that we come to realize: he actually does. Barnt´s style remains a palpable paradox even now refined. 'Tunsten', 'Stac' and 'Ariola' are marvellously aloof though totally unashamed to exalt the wonderful impertinence of the rave-ritual´s key stimuli. Barnt wearing a white smock, testing the ingredients of pleasure. No romanticism, no reference, no genre-attidude. Practicing his vicious dancefloor trickery on how to provoke precise physical reactions by clearly calculating frequencies which stimulate to dance. At the same time all of this is super loony, theatrical, overexposed, anti-technocrat and delicately decadent. In an air of shamelessness Barnt's extracts of euphoria associate for curious liaisons and eminent effects.

Other People is excited to debut the work of 19-year-old Russian producer Gena Volgarev, aka InLensk, with the Obratno EP. Translated as backward, or conversely, Obratno seems obsessed with and frustrated by a sense of nostalgia that can never lock its focus. Finely etched, highly detailed rhythms retain a cerebral cool fluttering over, under, and around melancholic digital melodies that bend and degrade sporadically. Meanwhile, the tactile use of filtering, extreme pans, and hypnotic microprogramming reveals an interest in sound's ability to shift temporal perception and evoke a purely neural response. Yet there's an intuitive warmth to a track like 'U 1', where a percolating guitar-line seeps through the austerity of a woody, lo-bit groove. Inspired by the artist's childhood in the provincial village of Lensk (thus the pseudonym), Obratnoliterally looks backward for its world. The track titles codify minute, yet impactful aspects of Gena's past. 'V 4', for example, translating to 'in 4', references his tight quartet of best friends, skipping along with an appropriately jocular bassline, tottering cowbell, and a deep, accentual 'Hahaha.' Wherever wistfulness appears there's also anxiety, manifest acutely in the unpredictable percussion. A snatch of Amen break cuts to a strike of open hi-hat and then a roll of heavy toms, never repeating texturally, even if there is a constant pulse. It's the contrast of speed and weight, between the drums and the melody, that creates a provocative air of avid melancholia — grasping for something not too far in the past that's fading faster than it should.

'Changa Tuki Classics' takes us on an exhilarating trip to a Venezuelan underground electronic scene. Defining Changa Tuki as a genre is tricky, the respective meanings of the words themselves is a mystery yet to be elucidated. Changa emerged in the late 80's as a the word to describe all strands of hard-hitting electronic music, to this day it remains the one popular term applied to all forms of House or Techno. The birth of the word Tuki can't be pinpointed, but to everyone it seems to be the vocal interpretation of how the typical Changa bass drum sounds to the Venezuelan people. With many styles and subgenres being born regularly in the Venezuelan underground scene, Changa Tuki is most commonly used to encompass all these music styles From the early 90's on, House and Techno had a huge impact on the Venezuelan music scene. Movements, dances, nights, TV and radio show all popped up celebrating hard-hitting electronic music.Due to poverty and the lack of available gear and pirated software,it's only at the end of the 90's that Venezuela started boasting its own production and original subculture, introducing the local DJ/producer concept. With the arrival of internet access in slums, music production boomed and several subgenres emerged, such as the slowed down Street House or the syncopated Raptor House

Balearic legend Jose Padilla's 'So Many Colours' has been one of the albums of the year for many. The remix package for 'Lollipop' features luscious remixes from I:Cube, Dream2Science and a special 12 inch version from original producer Telephones.

Lavishly colourful, the listener is drawn towards them, like an obsessive James Woods slithering into his television in the climactic sequence of Cronenberg's horror classic Videodrome.
Available as a limited edition 12" see-through blue vinyl release, the 5 tracks act as an abstraction and intensification of the mood set with their previous collaboration 'Temperature's Rising'.

Bound Adam' is the first in a series of reissues by American artist Elysia Crampton (f.k.a. E&E) for Total Stasis record label. Originally self-released in 2011 as digital files, this is its first vinyl pressing. Its three tracks are an ode to the artist's Ford Ranger. 2011 is also the year Ford discontinued the Ranger line. As Crampton says, "it is a speculative/ontological poem about a relationship with a car."

Roger 23 cherishes the art of the understatement. A recording career spanning 13 years has seen him take his craftsmanship and knowledge to uninhibited club music highlights. An important thread throughout all his releases has always been a distinct feel for space and experiment. Mensch Musik is therefore proud to present the Mensch 001 LP, an album that focuses on Roger's experimental and ambient productions.
Featuring six tracks of downsized splendor, Mensch 001 is an intuitive listening trip that plays with repetition and abstraction. Where his previous effort, 2014's 'The Hollow Organ,' dealt in dense, distressed sonics, 'Olympic Mess' is Younger responding to a period spent engaged with loop-based industrial music, dub techno, and balearic disco. These musical references, all of which can induce hypnotic states and feelings of euphoria, inform ten evocative aural landscapes which unfurl over the course of an hour and act almost as a counterpoint to the turmoil that spawned them.

'It's about exploring a perverse desire to pull the rug from under yourself, and the struggle to achieve a healthy equilibrium between one's personal and artistic lives,' Younger says. 'Dealing with the problematic consequences of pushing your own limits, forming and dissolving relationships, transient lifestyles, physical and mental exhaustion, excess, and other kinds of personal chaos'.

Crafted using an array of heavily processed samples, found sound and electroacoustics,
personal conflict manifests in 'I Exist In A Fog' and 'Outerzone 2015,' where visceral noise
disintegrates into veiled, ambient strata. The disquieting crescendos of 'The Evening In Reverse' and 'Fluid Cloak' offer no such relief, while the title track and 'Don't Lick The Jacket' are mineral, multilayered abstractions twisting around a brittle pulse.

Following a period of extensive touring throughout the States and Europe, which included 20 dates in support of Danish punk group Iceage, 'Olympic Mess' was recorded in London, New York and Berlin by Sean Ragon, Luke Younger and John Hannon.

LA-based electronic duo OOFJ are elated to announce the release of their sophomore album Acute Feast. The brainchild of real-life couple Jenno Bjørnkjær and Katherine Mills-Rymer, the LA-based electronic duo OOFJ met in New York City while Bjørnkjær was working on music for Lars Von Trier's Melancholia. This chance encounter developed into both a romantic and sonic chemistry that would eventually lead to the couple collaborating on music that formed the foundations of OOFJ. After winning critics over in June with the sensual nostalgic aura of 'Snakehips", OOFJ released 'You're Always Good' on Noisey. Montreal-based composer Drew Gragg conjures those rapt moments of music that burst from solitude. Here's an artist who understands boredom, its sublime ambience, and how an idea builds to wake you from it. 'Adsr Toms' takes three things, a piano, a fuzzy pitched drum and an infectious rim-shot that shape and reshape before dropping casually into the proximity of a gentle four-four. Grooves build to elegant cairns, sounding of stones as they beat in a cold undertow. Sometimes things seem formless. On 'Ostinate', a piano and pillowy tape hiss play alone before a single bounding kick threads their sounds together. Gragg studied jazz guitar and classical composition before beginning to explore electroacoustic production. His experience manifests in an elegant intention of melody that drives and switches directions thoughtfully throughout. While one might say 'techno,' or 'downtempo,' 'Over-Under' defies obvious labels with a clear-eyed fascination in the bare mechanics of sound. Results are spare and meticulous, musical sparks of mathematical intricacy, without a bit of lost humanity.

Berlin's Redshape has been releasing records for nearly a decade and in that time has amassed an accomplished discography on labels such as Styrax, Delsin, Leaves, R&S, Running Back and his own imprint Present which have cemented his name the amongst the greats of underground techno.
Nonplus are proud to release 'Feel Like Riot' and 'The Rift', staying in the vein of his sci fi laden Detroit techno style that continues to evolve but stay true to his unmistakable Redshape sound.

Scuba Death is Ricardo Donoso's alter ego. With more of a focus on analog sound, percussion, sampling, and location recordings, there is an organic undercurrent on Scuba Death recordings that isn't as prevalent in his solo work. This music is rich in atmosphere while still tethered to the deeper ideas that Donoso often explores in his work. Treatises on fear and death­anxiety, the underlining thematic framework for the project, run rampant throughout these claustrophobic electronic passages, and teeter on the edge of being oppressive. Nitrogen Narcosis marks the first full length and strongest statement in the Scuba Death repertoire after the privately issued, ruthless 'Demon Seed' twelve inch back in 2011. The album alternates between surprising lethargic dance inflections all nestled between 75 & 100 bpm, the normal resting heart rate for adults, and the more conceptual, numbness­inducing pieces like '50­-70 Meters' and 'Nociception.' Sequencing plays an integral role on Nitrogen Narcosis as the listener is suddenly thrust into the darkest reaches of the ocean after dark alley grooves are sucked into an aquatic abyss. For a project named after Donoso's near­drowning experience in the South Atlantic when he was younger, there's an impressive amount of reflection & vulnerability present - the field recordings that permeate throughout the album were captured at the same location the undertow caught hold of him that bright Summer day 20 years prior. An inner battle between paranoia and euphoria is played out in well­conceived, precision sonics on Nitrogen Narcosis as Donoso reminds us to look back, break through the surface and go deeper.

Leave is the third album from Rasmus Rasmussens ethereal electronic project Aerosol. During the nearly six years that has passed since it's predecessor Airborne, Rasmussen has spent his musical efforts in acid rock outfit Causa Sui and as part of various constellations, playing alongside musicians from Sunburned Hand of the Man and legendary kraut bands Can and Faust.

These freeform psychedelic influences seep into the already recognizable style of hazy electronics, known from his own previous work as well as from the music of
his colleagues in former band Limp (Manual/Syntaks).

Cosmic sounds and psy- chedelic effects mingle with cascading guitars and kraut-infused beats on a collection of tracks that sends obvious nods to the german
synth pioneers of the seventies, but is still unmistakably an Aerosol-album - an album set on beating emotions, moods and melodies out of old synthesizers, cheap drum machines and Rasmus' trusty white Stratocaster.

In recent times, Phantasy have provided the soundtrack for many adrenaline fuelled nights and hazy mornings with critically acclaimed albums from Daniel Avery ('Drone Logic') and Connan Mockasin ('Forever Dolphin Love' & 'Caramel'). Drum Island unveil their tenth release with an extraordinary EP from Norway's Klaus Lunde.

From Norway's oldest city Tonsberg comes the stargazing sounds of Klaus Lunde: an acclaimed and prolific electronic music composer, his array of releases under the Xerxes Music pseudonym explore a unique take on ambience and tonal electronica that's a mesmerising and accomplished body of work to be sure.

This, undoubtedly many people's first introduction to his work, is a perfectly pitched collection that highlights the familiar themes of the Xerxes work, but fits easily into the Drum Island blueprint of music for the midnight sun. A stringent prototype was smashed by Rene LaVice's 'The Calling'; it was propelled onto Radio1's A-list whilst crossing the boundary between commercial and underground, pulling in fans from the depths of both audiences. And since his move to London last year, he's certainly made his mark felt in the world's drum & bass capital... Both on stage and across the radio airwaves.'Hotblooded' is the next output from Rene, which perfectly follows up the success of its predecessor. A creeping, eerie vocal track which explodes on impact and ricochets throughout, 'Hotblooded' yet again exposes his monstrous capabilities as an electronic producer.The cinematic roller hastily brings you forward on clashing percussion and a distorted reece, creating a conundrum of carefully crafted chaos, but one which Rene's commands. Perfecting his art, it ingeniously merges a more humanistic element with the smash, crash and reverberating instruments which have given him notoriety. The much loved, slightly mysterious but always firing R-Zone series rolls on to its 12th release here. This time the Dutch collective serves up five searing club tracks that are as raw and energetic as ever and look back to a 90s UK heyday for their inspiration. First up is 'Beginning of Life', with old school loon bird calls, lots of rave intentions and nebulous pads all creating a sweaty atmosphere atop rough hewn drums. 'Hardcore Track' is a frenzied cut with pixelated melodies, chopped up vocals and machine gun like drums that pull in many directions at once. '321' then has classic pitch shifted hardcore vocals, rinsing, dusty old break beats and cantering bass, then 'Red Rave #1' is all whacked out and tinny, with skeleton drums jostling next to vocal stabs and dark and ominous spoken word snippets and 'Red Rave #2' gets all jungle by going deep on some rolling, shuffling drums and rich, rubbery bass. For fans of old school, hardcore and rave this Ep will certainly make you smile and, of course, dance!

Saab Knutson is a man with many issues, but on the Faroe Islands there is no time for issues. To stay of sound mind, Saab plays his synthesizers in the few spare hours he manages to find, unmistakenly influenced by Faroe's spellbinding landscapes and grim climate. Though Danny has never been to the Islands he has a definite puzzling calling to them, a 'luring' force, so to speak. Hopefully he will sell enough Saab Knutson albums so he can fund an expedition and find out more about this mysterious destiny... Sascha Schierloh a.k.a the enfant terrible of fucked up electronic dance music launches his new imprint Raketenbasis Haberlandstrasse with an impressive full length album offering.

Whilst the A-side holds some of his own tracks produced under his well unknown monikers Rgyeue DF and Bidol Cath originally released as 7" as "Dumm Aus Leidenschaft / Stupid Out Of Passion" once again showcasing his strange humour but also coming back to the techy floor variations introduced via his Littlebrutalravebastards Series released on labels like Dhyana Records, Intrauterin Recordings and LBRB Records.

To be found on the flip there's a nearly 20 minutes non stop amalgamation of short IDM / Electronica sketches produced by Michael Nowicki a.k.a. Panzerboy 666 which is mostly known under this name for the release of a semi-legendary 7" on Augsburgs Dhyana Records.

Marian Zazeela (*1940) and La Monte Young (*1935) are an artist couple from the United States who live and work together since 1962 and have ever since taken part in a multitude of projects too numerous to mention. It is far more than music both create as their repertoire also features installation art and paintings. But since our main focus is the music, we concentrate on their just reissued album named 'The Black Record' from 1969 with two lengthy minimal drones that create the ultimate mind expanding atmosphere by hypnotizing the listener and putting him into a state of physical and spiritual trance afterwards. We hear several layers of voices on a deep dark drone as the first track and I could imagine that this drone is in fact the echo of Mrs. Zazeela's chanting voice but it might also be a harmonium or an organ. It sounds too natural and warm for a synthesizer. Whatever it is, it works as a solid base for the wordless chants of both artists. This piece is in fact a selection from a much longer soundscape recorded in an art gallery in Munich in 1969. The minimalistic structure and meandering voice melodies generate a hypnotic and utterly spiritual atmosphere just as if you would witness an Indian meditation ritual. Turn the vinyl around and you will be swallowed by a black hole of sounds. This piece has been recorded in 1968 in the home studio of Young and Zazeela and it predates the cosmic music and proto industrial sounds of early TANGERINE DREAM or CLUSTER by a few years. This album is certainly made for a small audience of people who can put themselves in a state where leaving the body for a spiritual journey is only the next step. Both pieces are far from regular popular music but that makes them even more captivating and intriguing. A challenge for each listener in case he's not used to TANGERINE DREAM's 'Zeit' album yet. Who dares to join us on this strange trip

Neue EP der kanadischen Künstlerin Maya Postepski aus der Indie/Electro-Szene Torontos, die Mitglied der famosen Electroband Austra (Domino) und eine Hälfte des Electroduos Trust (Arts & Crafts) ist. Nach ihrem Debütalbum "Lossless" in 2013 ist "Lossy" ein erster Teaser zu ihrem anstehenden zweiten Werk "Progress", das im Laufe des Jahres erscheinen wird. Keytrack auf "Lossy" ist das 22-minütige Stück "Discoset". Das Vinyl erscheint in elfenbeinweisser Farbe.
