Serial Killaz return with the fourth release on their own self titled imprint. This time around Northern Lights remix 'Walk and Skank' and they certainly put their stamp on this already massive tune. On the flip is a tearing Serial Killaz mix of Benny Page's 'Crying Out'. This 12'' is a heavyweight piece of DJ artillery and has been getting support from the Drum and Bass top dogs.

With Titan Records, AMC (arguably the hottest new DJ to appear on the DnB scene in years) is crafting what is fast becoming the hottest new label in the scene. Not only is he picking up some incredible new talent but has also convinced Serial Killaz to part with one of their biggest tracks and now he features the mighty Wickaman with sparring partner RV.

Superb collection of Fenn O'Berg jams from their 2010 Japan tour, in which they forged further
west for some wild sets in Beppu and Omuta. While maintaining the sophistication of the In Stereo sessions and tour, these recordings hark back to some classic 20th Century Fenn O'Berg fare, complete with the odd cheeky samples...

Jack Dixon, a London-based electronic artist draws influences from Wolfgang Voigt, mutant disco, Autechre and Tim Hecker. Quite an array of jumping off points and ones which are clearly evident throughout his intricate productions. His productions sound as much at home on a heaving, sweat-soaked, educated dance floor as they do on headphones in the sleepy urban half-light on the night bus home. From his earliest releases on Brownswood, TAKE, and Silverback, Jack has found love and support from amongst others Mary Anne Hobbs, Joy Orbison, Will Saul, Sinden and Eats Everything. Unconstrained by genre, Jack has established an arresting, unique sound that joins the melodic nuances of house, the subtle experimentalism of minimal techno and the rhythmic flexibility of the UK underground.

Stripping it right back for his Apollo release, opener You Won't Let Me ingratiates the new bass dictats with an incredibly sensitive attention to the treatment of the vocal. Emotive, half-heard Burial-esque vocal snippets give way to intricate atmospherics. Saviour pitches the tempo up a notch with a driving rhythm, vocals laying low in the mix and a late-night synth line to confuse the senses. You can hear what Jacques Green loves about this man, right here in this track. Everytime is built around the heart wrenching vocal loop 'Learn Everytime' whilst final track Black Paint wouldn't sound out of place at the start of one of Richie Hawtin or Carl Craig's epic sets at the same time sitting right at home with Pariah and the rest of the new breed. Production has moved on in leaps and bounds over the past few years but what's so often missing is emotion. This EP has more of that in the first few seconds than other releases only dream of

Alignment Records return for their second release, stepping up is London artist Keza with the first Alignment artist 12'. No Ghosts and Write off. Keza has already had successful outings on the likes of Critical, CIA and Dispatch and makes his full solo debut with 2 absolutely killer tracks. Kicking off is the heavyweight bass driven and haunting stepper aptly named 'No ghosts' B/W the tearing roller that be 'Write off' intricately woven percussion scuttles seamlessly over the hypnotisingly sub heavy b-line! Both tracks receiving heavy support from the likes of Doc Scott, Loxy, Icicle, Alix Perez, Sabre, Ulterior Motive, Judda and Fathom Audio.

Mute welcomes a brand new era with the birth of their latest electronic associate label, Liberation Technologies. Citing reference from Mute's original and continuing statement of intent, the label exists to give space to and encourage artists to experiment and challenge themselves, anonymously if they choose. The first release on Liberation Technologies is the 'Spring EP' by King Felix, a producer from Ann Arbor, Michigan who has also released music as Laurel Halo. The Spring EP draws from a melee of influences, sharply carving out its own sonic palette. Driving and dramatic, it's an uplifting theme-and-variation exercise on oscillation and forward motion.

Klute join's forces with Prolix and Silent Witness for Commercial Suicide number 63.

PERVERSE make their debut for Artikal Music UK and craft out 3 deep, dark and dangerous cuts. The Iceman is the lead track from the release. Moody atmospehic pads and vocals set the tone followed by Dark staggered growls accompanied with a chest rattling sub bass on the drop. The Iceman has been a certified favourite with many of the top selectors and is clearly a smasher that has been devastating dubstep dances across the globe.Submerge takes a step back with merely a teaser of mid-range distortion before the tune busts out with reese-style bass sounds and 'stop and go' percussion. The atmosphere is tense, set in a large, dark room - drone sounds linger in the background as if you were staring in the face of a killing machine currently in a state of lethargy, a light the only sign that it's still active. This tune could make your blood run hot and the hair on your neck stand up.

GreyAudio - New label from Soul:r's ST Files. Covering all types of electronic moody music the label will be a home for ST Files productions with the occasional collabration. 1st release 'GreyAreaOne' featuring the heavyweight 'Falling Down' by S.T. Files and Calibre backed with solo roller 'The Void'.Currently making the set lists of Andy C, Marcus Intalex, D.Bridge, Friction, Loxy, Ulterior motive, Tony Coleman, Flight, & Kasra.

Sepalcure follow up last year's critically acclaimed LP on Hotflush Recordings with a new EP featuring remixes from Kevin McPhee and Trevino (a.k.a. Marcus Intalex), alongside one previously released album cut and one original track. 'Eternally Yrs', originally featured on the LP, makes another appearance on side A, followed up by Trevino's (Intalex's moniker for his techno and house projects) upbeat and melodic remix of 'Hold On'. On the flip, Toronto rising star McPhee turns the classic house sounds of 'The One' into a crackly, technodriven subbass tune. Silver Silver is LA-based singer-songwriter Simone White's most affecting and ambitious album yet. In contrast to her folk/country-tinged 2007 debut, I Am The Man, and 2009's quiet offering, Yakiimo, Silver Silver has White's soft voice framed by complex arrangements: there are pulsing, speaker-rattling bass tones, delicately layered vocal harmonies, and exquisitely lush washes of sound. It is also the singer's most personal record to date: 'A lot of stuff happened during the production. Two deaths, a breakup... fell in love.'



Fans of White's work may already be aware of her unusual life story. Born in Hawaii to a light-sculptor dad and folk-singer mum, burlesque grandmother and pop-song-writing aunt, White grew up moving across the US, her parents following the demands of a cult leader. Leaving home in her teens, White travelled, acted, took photos and made films, living in Seattle, Paris and London-finally finding her voice as a musician in New York City.



She worked with Nashville producer Mark Nevers (Lambchop, Bonnie Prince Billy) on her first two albums. MOJO welcomed her as 'not just a pretty voice but a mesmerizing intelligence', and NME described her songs as 'rich in yearning, despair and very American symbolism'. Audi delivered an award-winning international ad campaign sound-tracked by the The Beep Beep Song. (Lately, you may have heard her river-clear voice in an Omega commercial... with Nicole Kidman enacting the lyrics of Bunny In A Bunny Suit!)



Heralded by Rolling Stone Germany as 'one of the really great American songwriters', White toured Europe regularly for three years before taking a break to make Silver Silver. She lives now in Echo Park, L.A., in 'a wee bungalow with a vegetable garden'. It's no coincidence that grand themes mix with tiny details on her new album: 'After my friend died, I felt insanely present and alive in the mundane and every day for several weeks, almost a psychedelic high,' White says. 'I felt like she was looking through my eyes and telling me every moment was precious. Your hand on the door knob, turning it, the door opens, you go outside, the trees are standing there, you feel the warmth of the sun.' Those feelings led White to write Flowers In May, a sensual, bittersweet celebration of life that matches her delicate vocal to a knocking beat, washes of guitar and nocturnal-sounding glitches.



Silver Silver was a year in the making, and White worked with Samuel Bing and Julian Wass of Fol Chen at their L.A. studio. 'It was a very different way of working for me,' she says. 'I didn't have many songs when we started so we began with a lot of messing around and improvisation. Samuel kept going away to tour, the recording got spread out. I'm used to writing on guitar, going in the studio and basically recording live with a band. This album grew organically in many directions and built slowly over time. It wasn't like we just took a bunch of my songs and added beats. I played on other instruments, wrote lyrics and melodies after the pieces had evolved. We chopped things up, put them back together, tried things so many different ways. There was an openness and curiosity in the studio which I'd never had with myself, let alone other musicians.'



The record features guest spots from Andrew Bird, Thao, and Victoria Williams (all musician friends White met through touring), and for the first time mixes songs with instrumental segues and textures — including a manipulated field recording of neighbourhood street sounds.(Listen hard and you might hear an ice cream truck.) 'There's space throughout, and time away from the words. It's what I like to hear in music now, less words, and a little time to consider what you're listening to.'

What's inside Clockwork whirrs and clicks keep pace with gauzy shadows of intricate electric guitar and warm sunset sub bass. Atmospheric, twitchy and beautiful. The EP closes with a live version of the title track performed with his trio.

There seems to be a real buzz around Dom Tarasek aka Commodo over the last few months following on from the underground rumblings of his last single 'Uprising' released at the end of 2011. Much speculation has been made about his forthcoming releases on various forums and we are very happy to bring it to you in the form of 'The Northern Soul' EP. In a tough time for Dubstep Commodo takes all what is good about the music we love and leaves the filler behind. Starting with a stripped back skeletal frame of the 140 tempo sketched out Commodo creates and builds a unique style around these bare bones, which in these times is refreshing to hear and unfortunately few and far between. His distinct approach can be heard on all four of the tracks featured on this EP. His trademark syncopated, shuffling tribal rhythms and percussion run heavily throughout these productions, this in turn creates a real sense of darkness and space whilst keeping the all to much forgotten funk and swing of Dubstep alive, add to this the movement Commodo creates with his slick basslines and a healthy dose of Hip Hop attitude which creates an uncontrollable reaction to move, shuffle and skank where ever you're listening. After listening to this EP we'll sure you can see why there has been much talk about this new producer hailing from Sheffield.

You might have thought that Diesel and Audio Phreaks had gone a tad quite of late. Well my fellow Dubsteppers, this is what has been on a slow cook in the laboratories at Audio Phreaks HQ. 'The Quest' is easily the best recording I have ever heard from Diesel and the hairs on the back of my neck were jumping with excitement when this was delivered! Diesel's productions have come a LONG way, and with tunes like this, it won't be long until this bright talent is dominating the scene.

Lando Kal (a.k.a. Antaeus Roy), one half of Bay Area electro duo Lazer Sword, follows up Maneuver, his 2011 debut for Hotflush, with two cuts overflowing with the darkness of a long Berlin winter. A major player in both San Francisco and New York's underground club scenes, Lando's love of R&B, dark jungle, Detroit techno and classic house is front and center on these two bass heavy productions. The infectious Rythym Sektion comes on strong, Lando expertly weaving the vocals of the 1991 rave classic hinted at in the title with threatening drums and kinetic percussion. On the flip, Lando's dynamism is on display, as Inquisition's syncopated beats swagger along, insistent and knocking, drawing you into its multi-layered paranoid rhythms. Lando Kal has released on respected labels Numbers, Rush Hour, Sugarcane Recordings, Still Cold, and has remixed the likes of Sepalcure, Hovatron, Salva, Sepalcure and Doc Daneeka. Up ahead, lookout for a single dropping on Leisure System, the notorious Berghain party collective and label.

King Britt in his new acid electronic guise! 'Chasing Rainbows', 'The Chase' and 'Liloo's Seduction'

The last Siriusmo release, the 42 track compilation "Pearls & Embarassments: 2000-2010" (MTR13CD), has been released almost a year ago, just shortly after the critically acclaimed debut album "Mosaik" (MTR10CD). In the past months Siriusmo has locked himself into the studio to work on a new album. No gigs, no releases. Silence. "Doctor Beak's Rantanplant" is meant to shorten the waiting time with some pleasurable Siriusmo entertainment. The 3 tracks here give you a hint on what to expect from the yet untitled next album planned for end of the year. But maybe the album will sound completely different With Siriusmo you never know.

AMIT has joined forces with EXIT Records for the release of his upcoming EP. The project also sees AMIT reuniting with vocalist RANI who previously featured on several tracks on '9 Times'. This fruitful collaborative relationship is further cemented by 'Stay With Me' and 'You Look Better Dead'.Rani is a London based Vocalist of Irish/Indian descent. She originally started writing and performing her original songs at the age of 16 in local venues near her home town in the West of Ireland. Until her recent collaboration with AMIT, Rani's musical endeavors were more folk oriented with artists such as John Martyn and Bob Dylan proving to be major influences on her song writing. Her interest in electronic music was initiated when exposed to Martyn's early electro acoustic experimentation. She also considers contemporary artists such as Radiohead, Bjork and Sonic Youth to be major sources of inspiration along with the work of Creatives working in other mediums such as film-maker David Lynch and visual artist Marina Abramovic.

After one of the most soulful D&B releases in recent times the sounds of 'Oblique' are about to be kicked into touch by Break, the King Of Tech, as he steps up to Critical to bring two slices of thunderous studio wizardry designed with one thing on the mind, the dance floor. Serious ammo ready to cause serious damage in the right hands, just how we like it! 'Here We Go' is not messing around. Dirty drums and a teasing mid-range kick from the off while rising pads envelope the mix until the drop...then it's heads down, bass-face on and away we roll on the sickest of journeys into the tech-stepping territories of vintage Ed Rush & Optical. This ladies and gents is dynamite drum & bass and what a surprise...it's on Critical again!Flipping over and the goodness continues with 'Soundwaves', a rather more stripped down affair but just as devastating as the last. It's all about the creeping b-line, classic dub vox sample and the stepping break on this one as it carries us all the way through to finish off yet another killer release from the one they call Break. Bad. Boy.

On the final part of the Fokuz 050 series we have someone who could be described as a veteran in the Fokuz camp. Brother brings the quality as expected with a beatifull piece of music called 'Manna'. It's all about the subtle jazzy vibes on this one. Although Brother isn't the artist getting the most exposure, he proves again that he is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
'This Morning' is the highly anticipated release by dynamic duo 'Hybrid Minds' who already had support from some of the biggest names in the scene. Rolling drums, sensuous chords and a groovy bassline! The track also features Canadian producer/vocalist 'Grimm' adding his vocal flavour to this piece of topnotch production.

Next up on Frustrated Funk's Limited Vinyl Series is Italian producer and visual artist Federico Leocata. This young producer's sound aesthetics can easily be compared with Dataphysix' style of production with it's snappy, minimal and dark characteristics (who knows what their real connection might be).

False Color Image opens with a sinister string that holds the listeners attention before grabbing you with a drop of epic proportions. A rugged 2 step kick and snare brings the energy straight to the forefront whilst the bass digs deep with a booming 808 hitting every 4 bars. This really hurts every bone in the human body!
Dutch duo Mindmapper & Fre4knc are no strangers to the dnb circuit and have been producing their own style of future funk for a long time. Dictionary of Dreams brings a hypnotic flavour to the first release of this double AA.

We're obviously very pleased to welcome such a talent as Hybris into the Dispatch family. He hits hard with a deep dark little rollout that switches bass and groove effortlessly throughout the track! We also feel its worth mentioning he has a full 12 coming out on Dispatch LTD's big brother Dispatch Recordings too.Safire joins up with NZ talent Borderline for a fierce rollout of huge proportions, the track has a hard hitting futuristic feel and its one thats hitting hard with the likes of Kasra, Ant TC1 & Survival in clubs and on radio.Support also across this release from the likes of: Zero T, Ant TC1, Kasra, Octane & DLR, Teebee, Survival, Judda, Optiv, Xtrah, Spinline, Goldie, Sabre.

After a two-year break, Detroit producer and wayward star-child Jimmy Edgar debuts on Scuba's Hotflush Recordings armed with an album full of futuristic sleaze. Known for his unique take on jacking house and electro funk, he's recently been splitting his time between the US and Berlin, exploring transcendental meditation and the boundaries of the non-physical. This offering is an extension of that journey, bringing eleven tracks of erotic robo-pop to the table. Titled Majenta, this LP is a departure from his past sound, marking a shift in his own ever-expanding consciousness, as well as another exciting chapter of his musical career.Each track is an aural manifesto, giving well-deserved nods to his varied musical influences. Close encounters with Detroit legends Derrick May and Juan Atkins, Jimmy's 2004 signing to Warp Records, and his early exposure to Kraftwerk have all acted as lynchpins in the cultivation of his sound. With a number of releases on Glasstable, Semantica, Nonplus and long player releases on both Warp and !K7, Majenta reflects Jimmy's evolution as both artist and child of the cosmos.According to Edgar, the making of the album was steeped in countless synchronicities, continuously reminding him he was on the right path. In contrast with his last LP, XXX, for !K7, which took five years to make, Majenta is more raw, more spontaneous and in his words, 'more futuristic ... than my other music, which played a lot with retro, especially R&B.' From the outset, Jimmy's flexing his Kraftwerkian muscle, with vocoder complimenting his own unadulterated voice and '80s synthlines bubbling away alongside jazz-funk keyboard riffs. From the raunchy and sexually explicit 'Take Me on a Sex Drive' ('windows down, legs up high') to the low-lit, hypnotic feel of 'Attempt to Make it Last', to the UK garage rhythms of 'Let Yrself Be', to the Kiss-era Prince vibe of 'I Need Your Control', it's clear that the postmodern is Edgar's domain. The Frampton-esque vocals of 'In Deep' close out the LP and further cement his enviable place in the intergalactic community.Spring/Summer 2012 will see Jimmy playing a number of live shows across Europe and the US in support of Majenta (including major festivals such as Glade, UK), as well as his continued exploration into the world of LEDs and synchronized light technology.

Underground is the first single taken from the hugely anticipated Komonazmuk Album 'Komonazmuk'. Due for release mid 2012. Bristol born Keiren Lomax (aka) Komonazmuk formally part of Ice Minus started producing as Komonazmuk in 2006 and has released on some of the biggest independent labels in the scene to date including H.E.N.C.H, Tempa, Apple Pips, Combat & Metal Headz to name a few. He's also produced remixes for the likes of Bonobo, My My & Emika, Side Show and Paul Woolford. Keiren featured on the Bristol rise up special with Mary Ann Hobbs on BBC radio 1 and can be found DJ'ing across the globe.Komazmuk 'Underground is my take on B Boy styles, when I started to write the track I already had the vocal in my head, this helped on building the rhythm and melody. Growing up listening & playing on pirate radio was the main link to the samples, in respect to how pirate radio has had a big roll within UKunderground music, I knew as soon as the track was complete what kinda remix i was after. Paul's remix is exactly that. A percussive Stripped back, moody full of bass workout. Pretty much as far underground as you can go.'

'The Noise in the Sky' is the highly anticipated follow up to KBD's highly praised '09' debut 'The B Suite', and sees him delving deep into his 70s influences.. While on tour, he travelled by day listening to 70s jazz and played by night in electro clubs and festivals. While in Detroit to play at the DEMF festival, he visited the historic Motown studios in Hitsville USA and realized the duality of his musical position: influenced on one side by 70s sounds and being part of the Ed Banger label, in his studio, vintage Moogs and Rhodes sharing the space with a computer and plug-ins: he questioned himself on this duality and endeavoured to find a musical answer. 

Demand Records aren't shy when it comes to releasing bold Drum & Bass statements, and their latest offering from Bern-based Brazillian BTK, and Englishman Optiv is no exception. A side 'Jacknife' proves that demand are the underground D&B scene's label of choice once again, with a stepper storm of tesla coil bass and malevolence. This tune was made to shake dancefloors off the Richter scale - expect carnage. 'Menace Part 2 is a straight-up evil roller, building tension with attention - grabbing drums and eventually erupting into a no-nonsense destroyer any self-respecting clubber would go nuts for. With contrast between intricate drums and relentless pneumatic pressure, Optiv & BTK don't give you a choice - you have to move. With DJ support from the likes of Bailey, Anile, Calyx, Chris SU, Klute, The Upbeats, TeeBee and more, there'll be no hiding from this release. Build yourself a bunker and get ready for the storm.

Until her recent collaboration with AMIT, Rani's musical endeavors were more folk oriented with artists such as John Martyn and Bob Dylan proving to be major influences on her song writing. Her interest in electronic music was initiated when exposed to Martyn's early electro acoustic experimentation. She also considers contemporary artists such as Radiohead, Bjork and Sonic Youth to be major sources of inspiration along with the work of Creatives working in other mediums such as film-maker David Lynch and visual artist Marina Abramovic.

music. After a week in the studio an exciting new project was born; a project that celebrates their mutual

Another new week marks another new entrant in the Cargo Hall of Flame, this time in the shape of the mighty Roska Kicks And Snares label, helmed by near-legendary Rinse FM DJ and production-don Roska (Rinse, Tectonic, Hotflush, numbers etc). Delivering a tidy vinyl-only third installment of the Roska Allstars EP series to showcase selected stormers from the label's recent download offerings, 'RKS Allstars Volume 3' brings on more vital sounds and flavoursome movements from three stalwarts of the funky-grime-bass-garage-house-polyscene currently conquering tasteful UK floors and speakers. Holding down the A-side is 'Selecta' by the prodigiously-talented Champion, peppered with bad boy vocals and rude wheelbacks that serve the dancefloor vibe generously. Champion's masterful use of bass is to the fore, serving as sturdy groundwork for a tune whose main hook switches from low rumbles to higher-pitched shakes to keep heads nodding and feet moving. On the flip, MA1's 'Bassbox' continues the ecstatic vibe with an increasingly hyperactive and modulating synth which swaps and chops throughout the track to dizzying degrees, whilst the bass and drum claps keep it masterfully steady. Finally, funky hardleader DJ Naughty applies the polish on 'Unstoppable', an equally rude workout. Starting off with vibes galore in the form of a crucial drum pattern which urges movement from the get up and go, the cut's progression continues a-pace with added dramatic melodic intervals and a lightheaded and ecstatic top-end tone which gradually moves on to darker territory as the track develops. All three contributions represent the many sides to the label and cap a crucial hat-trick of unsurpassable rhythms coming from Roska Kicks And Snares right about now.

So Disco Cakes is back with yet another chart topper. This time The Dancefloor Outlaws do battle with label bosses Defkline & Red Polo. So what happens when the kings of booty breaks take on the might of the Outlaws

This three track EP from the aptly named Dream Continuum is a collaboration between Travis Stewart a.k.a. Machinedrum and Jim Coles a.k.a. Om Unit, who was the mind behind the Philip D Kick 'footwork jungle' tracks in 2011. The meeting came about when Travis and Jim realised they were working in parallel on the same concept of finding the sweet spot between mid-90's euphoric jungle and footwork, so naturally they set about working out how to find it together. The 'Reworkz EP' moves backwards and forwards in time with 'Be Free' treating jungle's diva samples with footwork pitch bending and repetition while adding huge uplifting chords that capture the euphoria of rave perfectly. It's then laid over tough, rolling 808 kicks and snares at 160bpm with a carpet of pumping, rhythmic sub-bass resulting in a new hybrid that is both fresh and energetic. 'Give A Lil Luv' is, if anything, even more euphoric, like rolling thunder with an intense, melodic use of samples and chord stabs with metallic breaks building into a spiky mesh of rhythms. On side B 'Set it' draws classic dancehall, soul and reggae samples across a perfect mix of fast juke cymbals and jungle amens, each part casually camouflaging the other, tempering footwork's sometimes intimidating sparseness and filling it with rich, warm and sincere rave energy.

Almost two years on from their last vinyl release - El B's smoking 'Dirty' EP - Submerse and KingThing's Night Audio presents Milyoo's 'Classic' EP, backed up with a remix from VVV (Fortified Audio, Car Crash Set). Starting off with an industrial sized slap in the face from title track 'Classic', this EP takes you on a dystopian journey through a sonic landscape sculpted in a way that only Milyoo could envisage. His unique take on electronic music is borne out in the almost spooky electro fuzz of the title track, underpinned by a strangely catchy vocal hook. VVV's take on it does not disappoint either, retaining the mystical aura of the original whilst creating a much more spacious and altogether deeper vibe. On the flip, 'Hides In You' is a beautifully crafted piece leaning towards the deeper house side of things, with a haunting vocal gliding between the stuttering arpeggiated chords, ensuring spine tingling listening. 'Down To Love' rounds things up perfectly with a quirky intro leading into an extra-heavy half step beat and some equally thudding sub work, the initial melody being put through the blender and coming out as a 15oz audio buffet. After gaining support in the past from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, FACT, and Resident Advisor, Milyoo has already left an indeliable mark on the bass music world, and this release follows up his previous efforts for Opit and Saigon with serious aplomb. For the clubs and the headphones, this one will still sound just as interesting when revisited in five years time.

Bass Alert! Deep-house hit machine YSE detonate a futuristic beatbomb on everyones' favourite Winding Road Records.

YSE's debut for Winding Road plays a full hand of ghetto deepness, party shouting, kooky weirdness, and superslick production. Innocence is a dark nugget of synthetic funk, laced with twisted vocals around slabs of slippery techno bass - brilliant and insane. Happy Bubble is a shouty blockparty rave track, sounding like Basement Jaxx at midnight in a NASA flotation chamber. Substitute is a zoned out tracky gangsta groove sounding like the Southport rave cabin.

The enigmatic Svetlana Industries has built up something of a reputation for talent spotting, with debut releases from Teebs, BNJMN, Nightwave and others, and this release is no exception, placing the label ahead of the pack once more. Brey is a young Londoner of Angolan origin who has already attracted attention and praise from Scratcha DVA, Bok Bok, (who's been playing his own edit of 'Double A Side...'), Brackles and others, as well as 'who is this guy' hype in Fader and FACT. He's been offered major publishing deals and free studio time and all sorts, but through all this has kept himself firmly to himself. You won't find much beyond a few mashups on his Soundcloud, and apart from an anonymous appearance on Ramadanman's legendary Fabriclive compilation under the name Die Barbie Musik Kollektiv, the 'Brasil EP' is the first public airing of his complex, catchy yet highly original, relaxed yet stealthy take on UK dance music, hybridising elements of bass, hip hop, funky house and styles upon styles beyond. 'Bengela' is a tease; a long build, a real horn section parping over ominous tribal percussion, until it drops into a ridiculous party tune, half tongue in cheek, half banger skank, offbeat but jacking. 'Juno' marks the spot where Night Slugs meets John Barry. Sharp clattering percussion, pitched syn drums and rave stabs get muddled together with jazz flute, cinematic strings, somewhere a subdued indecipherable hip hop vocal, an undercurrent of heavy studio pressure, and what's this A guitar solo Oh, okay then, bring it on, it seems to work. 'Double A Side ...' works crispy percussion and tinkling vibes, under which ploughs a heavy bass and snatches of what sound like ragga vocal, giving way to a tropical synth stabs. Again Brey teases, only fully dropping the beat three minutes in. Like 'Bengela', this is a track designed to be mixed, and to give a breath and pause to the set before dumping back into heavy tribal rhythm. Heavy DJ support for this tune already across Rinse, Fabric and elsewhere. Finally, 'Monies' featuring Vinny Radio heralds the EP's 'and now for something completely different' moment. Vinny Radio is a heavily blunted Pittsburgh rapper with one of the best flows you've never heard. 'Started off with a dollar, tried to double that but I spent it on pot'. Brey lets the rhymes breathe, just propping them with a deceptively simple loop and some vocal manipulation and bass rumble. It's an original approach to hip hop production - no boom clap here - but one that sounds totally natural.

After years of absence on the music scene, international techno superstar CJ Bolland returns with a big track that takes him back to his nineties origins, reminiscent of the 'Camargue' glorydays. Now ready to storm the dance music world once again, this is a taste of what's to come from the heart & soul of the techno mastermind.

Many prominent figures throughout history have proclaimed that 'you can get by with a little help from your friends' now whilst this is a lovely romantic notion and does, we suppose have some (albeit very small) grounding in reality you need a bit more if you want to progress through life as opposed to simply jog in. Zoo Look are a good example of this, whilst Sam, Alex and Craig have been friends for quite some time, forging their completely plutonic relationship through DJing together, their latest release, number 11 on Join The Dots is forged from more than simply the burning fires of friendship, it's born out of a love of all things deep as well as house music based. They may be mates but you can also get along very well if you have bags of talent too.The lead track of the release 'People Let Me Down' may be a diss at an old girlfriend, a broken home reference to a Hollyoaks sub-plot or an under performing footballer Luckily though it can't be an accusation aimed at Zoo Look. Slo-mo and comprised of a bass line that practically emerges in China.The words, cinematic and layered get thrown around like a retro Frisbee in London Fields (i.e. very badly and with much more of an eye on aesthetics that actual content) so in the spirit of all things trendy and slim-fitting, that is exactly how you could describe 'Grove Side Blues', the second in the package from Zoo Looks release. It's deep whilst never losing sight of itself up its own backside or the dance floor. It's got more chug than Thomas the Tank Engine whilst sounding so futuristic that it might not even have been composed yet. 'Cutters Choice' showcases what happens when the boys get let out of their cage (zoo joke innit). Whilst still clearly stitched together using the same Zoo Look palette it's track to start or finish a night, a build up or a comedown, but never a letdown, all sprinkling hi-hats and swathes of synth splendidness.Zoo Look, nothing to do with Zoo's really and proof that friendship whilst obviously a good thing, cannot be alone held responsible for such sonic wizardry.

Killawatts second release for Wheel and Deal, this time hitting you with several different flavours, an incite to his diverse production skills.71: Deep dark spacious half step roller, supported by Youngsta and N-Type. This is eyes down and sub heavy.Rolling Dunes: On the B side Killawatt hits them hard with eairy eastern vibes in the intro lead you to distorted dark club smasher. Topio :Takes you back to the days of tribal dustup championed by the likes of Hatcha. With Rolling congas ghostly bassline, this has been a staple in N-Type, Surge and Walsh's sets.

Komatic returns to Celsius recordings with two instant dancefloor classics. This Bedford, UK based producer has been making waves recently with releases on Spearhead and SGN:LTD.

Brand new music from the mysterious Francis Inferno Orchestra on London's Join The Dots Music label. 2010 and saw a slew of releases for Francis Inferno Orchestra on Under The Shade, Wolf Music and Dikso which gained the attention and support from disco and house dons The Revenge, Eamon Harkin, Session Victim, Cottam, Eddie C, Jay Shepheard, Hot Toddy and Chamboche.

The 'Introducing Tokyo Prose' project of 2011 was more successful than we had hoped, with the sampler 12s taking the #1 and #2 spots in Chemical Records top vinyl sellers for 2011. A remix package was inevitable, and we took a different direction than some would have expected. The first remix of 'Echoes' come from Manchester's Synkro who has provided one of the most beautiful tunes we have heard in the last year. The clip of this tune has already had staggering success on Soundcloud and rave reviews from the likes of London Elektricity who gave it 5/5. Exit Recordings artist Consequence takes on 'LPK Sound' and renders the tune into a slow motion bliss out showered in an altogether unique vibe, nailed to a solid stepping kick. Two perfect examples of how a remix should be done, combined to make this one of our best releases ever.

ManMakeMusic continue their adventure into the musical hinterland beyond bass, techno, house and garage with two cuts from new signing, Trikk. Hailing from Porto, Portugal, and a recent addition to London's kaleidoscopic music scene, Trikk effortlessly marries old school charm with new school edge. A-side, 'Jointly', takes Robert Hood-esque jackin' techno drums and unites them with twisted garage vocal chops and relentless bass. On the flip, 'I Fall Down' takes things down a gear with an emotive mix of cavernous synth lines, heartbroken vocals and skipping drums which harks back to the finest moments of broken beat.

Funckarma goes in league with Onionboy (Darko Esser), both delivering a track of their own, and a remix of each other's. Funckarma's Rusty W is lush electronics and heavy dubstep at the same time, effective & abstract dancefloor artillery! Onionboy's remix is a 100% old school electro track, solid as a rock and reminding a bit of old Rude66 and Satamile tracks.

Kondens is collaboration between Swedish electronic music veterans Andreas Tilliander aka Mokira and Stefan Thor aka Folie. The sound is a hybrid of techy dubstep with a twist and banging dub-influenced techno. Pure peak time bliss without losing the love for dub and tape delays. The vinyl debut, First Cut EP, was a success. The Second Coming in now here including a breathtakingly beautiful Substance remix.

Taking a detour from Drum & Bass, Mono's recent addition to the already impressive IM:Ltd catalogue is a seething mass of understated fury.The young Bornemouth producer might be a new face for some, but he's been known around these parts for a while and make sure that with this release, he's not going anywhere.

For the past few years, BRAiNMATH has been discovering some of the brightest and most inventive up and coming artists this country has produced in many years. Whilst some people claim that the number seven is lucky, some people, like Duff, don't believe in luck, or if there is such a thing as luck you make your own. You can't rely on anyone else to hold your hand you know, you gotsta forge your own path, they aren't called the mean streets for nothing. Duff is the sort of man who not only makes his own luck (cos who else is gonna look after you) but he keeps an eye on his bredren too. Though he isn't some type of machismo, over-the-top (hat back go-on Sly) caricature, it's just the way it is, nuthin to argue about. He has a way about him, the glare of a Pitbull and the smile of Don Juan, Dusty is his girl yep that's her real name, the name her mamma gave her on the day she was introduced to this world. The girl is fine that's for sure but what else would you expect from the honey that rides shotgun with the sonic Casanova. She might call herself lucky. Duff would disagree.
