Tes La Rok's highly anticipated debut album entitled 'Them' will finally see the light of day. Tes La Rok made his name in dubstep circles in 2007 with the massive 'Round The World Girls Remix' which immediately positioned him as one of the most exciting artists and definitely one to watch. Anthem releases such as 'Under The Dancing Feet' remix for Clouds, 'Wikidness Remix' for Mungo's Hi-Fi, and 'Up In The Vip / Living Fire' on Dub Police were soon followed by bookings at DMZ in Brixton and dubstep mecca FWD>> at Plastic People. 'Them' features thirteen tracks engineered with precision and care. 'Invasion' sets the album off in a deep and minimal flavour followed by the dark and abyssal 'Earth'. 'Murda' takes the sound back to the year 2006 which is the year when it was originally composed and luckily recovered from a destroyed hard drive! 'Virus' is a dark mutated sci-fi roller followed by 'You & I', the track that has been causing waves all over the world. Tes gives a taste of his old junglist roots on 140bpm amen roller 'Secrets' and as a follow-up tests his hands on hip hop vibes in 'Malfunction'. 'Tribal Ting' and 'Spiritual Ting' showcase the more known Tes La Rok dubwise production and his profound love to dig dub stepper sounds. 'What' and 'From The Shadows' combine deep & beautiful atmospheres with post-garage drums patterns and subheavy basslines. To bring the album to a finale and give a hint of the future, 'Turn It Up' brings in chopped vocals and raw 808 bass. Started in 2005 as collaboration with a friend, Terrain records had releases from Manchester artists S.N.O & Omen, with remixes from a young Skream, and N-Type. The label lay dormant for 5 years, but for 2011 N-Type has decided to relaunch the label, focusing on 140bpm jungle & hardcore influenced dubstep. For the 3rd release on the label, N-type presents two young artists with a love for the oldskool hardcore junglist sound Benton and ARC 88. A side 'Having Fun' by Benton is reminiscent of early Jungle, with rolling amen breaks, thunderous Reece bassline, and classic pitched up female vocals. This tune has been a staple in N-types dubplate collection AA Side '2 Many' by ARC 88 is a dancehall killah! 140bpm jungle rinser, featuring ragga vocals and a euphoric breakdown. Featured on the new Wheel & Deal Records album mix by DJ N-Type, this track is a standard reload. Both tracks are currently being battered by N-Type, Skream, Dismantle, Walsh, Bluesy, Chefal and Cluekid to name a few.

Fabric's resident DJ and musical director since the club opened in 1999, Craig Richards returns to the series he inaugurated with a showcase of his 'The Nothing Special' events. Recognised as a dedicated musical champion, Richards is in his curatorial element on fabric 58, selecting unheard and underexposed tracks from 20 years of house and techno, giving his refined, understated mix a timeless quality.

With an interest sparked at a young age by the 'liquid' sounds d & b and artists such as Calibre, Marky, XRS and Artificial Intelligence, Diamond EyE starts his quest within the scene. During these formative years he has notched up releases with Fokuz, Mr Joseph's Fizzy beats, Manifesto and Inperspective recording alongside head honcho Chris INP. His output via MJAZZ has included 'Temple Dub' on the Modernists 2 LP, a stunning take on Justice's classic 'Aquisse' and a remix of 'Sand delay' for Justice/Metro 839 LP. Fast forward and we find the 23 year old North Londoner making a sophisticated, mature music which far out ways his years, the culmination of which makes up his debut LP ' Moments in life'. Those of you who've been around for a while will remember D.Kay & Rawfulls Illkillz alias. Their early tunes married cheeky trance riffs with grimy drum & bass sensibilities to devastating effect. 2010 sees them gear up for an album release and what better way to do that then by updating their sound for a deep and dark feel~ Hospital Records' Logistics comes along for the ride on Gridline a riotous effort that brings together immense techno sounds with grizzled bass notes and rolling drums. 'They Could Love' on the AA keeps things deep and dark, but delves even further into esoteric territory. We can't wait for the album. (Words ATM Magazine May /June 2010).

The new single on LoDubs' remix-driven Special Request sub-label comes from Jaybird. A native of the Philly/Baltimore area, Jaybird first really came into the public eye through his remixes of classic house and techno tunes, which came naturally to him, given his years of history in that scene prior to the advent of dubstep. One by one, Jaybird rolled out floor slaying remixes on dubplate of such classic tracks as CJ Bolland's 'Carmargue', and Goldie's 'Inner City Life', but it was his rework of Cajmere's 1992 smash 'Percolator' that really took him into the top circles of renown among dubstep remixers. Fluidly reapplying the classic coffee pot sound into a hybrid wobble proved to be an infectious invention, and led to the track being a constant staple in the sets of N Type, 6Blocc, and many others. At the same time Jaybird was just as capable of creating his own sound. A little over a year ago, Danish label Kraken released 'Work Dat Box', a twisted, menacing synth-and-bass monster that became a standout in many sets, hinting at the visceral energy present in 'What Da Funk!', a track which could which could go down in history as the record that manages to squeeze the most shapes possible out of the iconic Roland 808. On the flip, 6Blocc grabs ahold of the track's potent raw elements, and instead of taming them, enrages them.

The 'Videowave EP' is an 'End of Phase One' sign-off for Kuedo, aka Jamie Teasdale, formerly of the influential production duo Vex'd. After two brilliant and very well received EPs, this is almost an addendum before a change in style with his forthcoming album. Collected together here are the best of his remaining original tracks from the first phase, together with remixes by friends of three tracks from his last EP 'Dream Sequence'. 'Take Off Remix' was originally conceived in 2009 as a remix of Slugabed, but it doesn't have much of the original left in it, so Slugabed has kindly let him use it as his own track. It's a cosmic attack of spiralling, flickering arpeggios and aerial synth lines over crashing half-step drums. Illum Sphere remakes 'Starfox' by laying it out with warm orchestral strings and soft bleeps, making an incredibly inviting and gentle version. Chris Clark from Warp takes 'Glow' and turns it into a weightless symphony with long spaces, held together with gas-like drones in complex arrangements. 'Shutter Light Girl' is remixed by Heterotic (aka Mike Paradinas & Lara Rix-Martin), bathed in the washed out, gently pulsing and bending synths of the kind you might find accompanying the suggestive cut-aways of an 80s soft porn VHS. Lastly 'Oh' is a mini anthem that mixes boom bap drums and claps with a lush upbeat synth melody that walks the fine line between melodic and abstract, previewing the forthcoming material, but also signing-off on his original hip hop sound and finishing the EP in triumphant form.
