If Osiris' recent releases have represented a rope that bridges the chasm that exists between various bass-heavy electronic sub-genres, this compilation of brand new material might just be the bricks-and-mortar upgrade to that bridge that marries them all into one cohesive vision. Proceedings kick off with Overlook's menacing take on Jungle — almost eight minutes of sustained preternatural tension in the shape of 'Former Self '.

Pessimist continues the journey with the sprawling 'Indigo', and moves away from his trademark pace to set the scene with repetitive, delayed stabs in the dark. Three tracks in, label boss Simon Shreeve steps into the ring, in his first outing as Mønic this year, to unveil the appropriately titled 'Stampede' — a marching, ferocious melding of industrial beats and distorted growl, pushed along by frenetic hi-hats before spiralling off the edge into a feedback-laden pit.

To close, Mønic teams up with Grebenstein. Picture the former's take on sepulchral atmospherics, married with the latter's mangled electronics, and you'll have a good indication of what to expect from this meeting of minds. 'Cutting The Ties That Bind' sees those hats return in the distance, but slows the pace for a largely ambient conclusion to this unique blends of musical ideas.

Alongside the delicious aggressiveness that made Audio so renowned, his 'Beastmode' LP cracks him open like you've never heard him before. Fiercely powerful, yet intricately different, each cut from his debut album on the Ram Records imprint packs a very different punch whilst hitting with the same fierceness and wealth of talent.

'Beastmode' reflects all his output to date. Whether it's the old-school flavor of virus, or the steppy-unapologetic riddims he's served up for Ram, this record won't leave you questioning who rules supreme over the genre's murkier waters.

Whether it's the half-time, two stepping 'Move it Along' or the pulsing, snarling undertones of 'Thud', you're blessed with a barrage full of fresh sonic assaults. 'Thunder Ride' serves as the perfect opener, a brand new record with synth-laddered foreboding intro which pushes you below the surf. Tinkling hi-hats and a distorted LFO adds shockwaves throughout the mix, submerging you even deeper. Urgent, pulsing and nastily crafted, this is Audio and his more fearsome.

On the other hand, 'Rogue' presents a clanking, runaway riddim that snaps its teeth with every break. Stacked between ominous build ups and jaunty samples, the second drop flairs out as angrily as the first, demonstrating Audio's ingenious sound design.

And flipping the switch once again is 'Sovereign', a nod to the producer's roots and a track that gradually builds its presence throughout. Between warbling stabs and peddled kick drum, you're drawn by the aural nerves. Elevating beat patterns set you up for another descent into madness, through a stringently tight composition.

Featuring artists, such as drum & bass heavyweight Prolix, also take center stage. Their collaboration 'Creatures', alongside the revered lyricist Nuklear MC, adds a welcomed surprise. 'Creatures' delivers everything you'd expect and more, steroid-pumped subs, the dark overture of Nuklear and apocalyptic atmospherics.

Also featured on its weighty track listing are singles 'Make it Happen', 'Overdose', 'Drop it Human' and 'Shatterdome'. They were a precursor for what was to come, which signified one of the darkest, most uncompromising productions yet on Ram Records... In all of its twenty-five years of history.

In the ever-evolving world of electronic music, each genre has a handful of centerfold acts that have pioneered the movement in such a way that many have brashly followed suit. By paving the creative way and decimating every glass ceiling in their path, these said artists continually construct a precedent that directly reflects the extreme hours and tireless passions spent culminating a production so pristine, yet only a few minutes long. Introducing Outlook Recordings - a brand new record label, fresh from the team behind seminal sound system celebration, Outlook Festival, championing the sounds that have garnered the festival the reputation that it deserves. The first release on Outlook Recordings imprint embodies the sound of the festival, bringing in producer Icicle and Levelz affiliate Skittles to provide a killer d'n'b fuelled, bass-laced three track EP.

Kicking off with collab from inimitable duo, Icicle and Skittles, leading title track 'EVERYBODY RIOT' starts with a slow build up combined with a tempo changing flow. With Skittles rapping over sparse breaks, it's a stone cold fusion of MCR energy, d'n'b breaks and jungle vibes. Icicle takes things things up a notch on the flip - B1's 'REMEMBER ME' is a purely instrumental, slightly industrial, DnB weapon - with a second drop that's well worth the wait. Rounding out the EP on a deeper, darker tip with B2 'My HEART'S A LEMON', the enigmatic, intriguing and eloquent production rises to majesty upon a melodic build-up which quickly descends into a hefty drop. Repping again for Manchester, Skittles spitting razor-sharp bars layers hi-octane, ice cold energy over old skool elements. Marking Outlook Recording's first foray into releases, the EP traverses through dubstep, DnB and jungle in true Icicle form - a nod to hazy days and raucous nights in the holds of Fort Punta Christo.

Madcap & Jaybee - Settle Down - Madcap and Jaybee team up to create the musical masterpiece called, "Settle Down". The song starts out rather jazzy, with it's smooth rhodes keys and heavy cymbal riding drum lines. When the song hits the breakdown, the whole tone of the tune changes. The punchy sub bassline is unleashed and becomes one of the driving forces of the track. Echoing reggae style vocals are beautifully weaved into the background of the track, transforming the vibe into a reggae/dub style D&B classic. The Amen drums also help to create an intoxicating energy that make this one a sure thing for dance floor mayhem. Instant classic!


Madcap - Hear Comes - "Hear Comes" takes over where "Settle Down" left off. The song begins with big amen drums, backed with a Reggae style skanking guitar chop. During the breakdown, a thoughtful Roots Reggae vocal sample is introduced that helps lift the track into a true Dubwise gem. When the drop hits, the baseline kicks in and begins to wobble and throb behind all the deep atmospherics. The track has a beautiful breakdown, which takes the listener to a more melodic place. After a moment of serenity, the song breaks back into the chaotic old school flavor, which Madcap does so well. This one's a beauty!!

Craigie Knowes' infamous fundraiser continues with a complete revamp. The double 12inch is replaced by two individual 12inch releases. Luke Vibert, DJ Overdose, Cygnus, TEXTASY, ASOK and London Modular Alliance join on CKNOW3-PT1 with a blend of Acid, Electro, Techno and Jungle sounds to help raise money for the charity War Child.

we are pleased to announce the debut release of a young producer from St. Petersburg, HOAVI. His adventurous electronic sound is one we haven t heard in a while and excited us on first listen. While on one hand, his music has a traditional sound (early 90s UK), HOAVI does create a world of his own due to the versatility in his productions. It is this versatility that creates an exciting hybrid sound, therefore pushing the envelope and making it sound very current, future even. vinyl tastes better...

Myor Massiv & Diamond Life boss Coco Bryce returns to 7th Storey Projects once more with two ruff cuts on one neat little 10" plate!

Subtle Audio unveil their latest sub-division with the launch of 'Treaty Treats' - an imprint dedicated to beats originating in Limerick (aka the Treaty City) - the home of Subtle Audio. The first release features Subtle Audio head honcho Code and long time associate K3Bee with a track each. The label output will be mostly developed in their studio's but they'll be broadening the scope by collaborating with other artists / collectives based in Limerick as well as remixing other Irish acts across different genres.

Reaper Recordings is a brand new label focusing on delivering a regular supply of second to none jungle and jungle related music.

Reaper is getting the ball rolling with the first in a series of 10' vinyl releases courtesy of Ghosty, who has released music under many different aliases for over 15 years. Presented here are two tracks of meticulously programmed hardcore jungle: modern production values and attention to detail whilst maintaining grit, dirt, warmth and weight. Both tracks have recently been road tested with great reception at various Jungle events around the UK.

Side A, 'Dead Already' is a low slung, bass driven, dark jungle workout with creeping, tape saturated arpeggios with powerful lows and aggressive, punchy percussion.

Side B, 'Forward' is a soul influenced, 94 style jungle track. Solid, deep sine basses hold down the chopped, steppy, dynamic drums.

It is with great pride that we wrap up 2018 with Monty and his new 'Spatia' EP. He has had an impressive 2 years, and his last release the 'Hypnotize EP' was extremely well received with support from the finest publications, and from every DJ in the scene. Can you believe we're past our first 10 dnb vinyl releases And we're opening the second 10 with something really big - a hell of a track by Handra and Mystic State, accompanied by a superb remix by Fre4knc on the flipside. "Side Effects" - as that's the title of the track in question - is all about that bass (hehe). That booming bassline, lifting the finely-programmed, soft beats up and down, adding some additional depth to the mysterious synthetic growling creeping up on the listener in the background. The single offers also yet another shade of the main course. Fre4knc dissects the original bits and pieces and puts them together in a new fashion, creating a dynamic roller driven by a no-nonsense continuous bassline, spicing things up with some heavy breakbeat choppage here and there. All in all, we're treating you to a healthy portion of low frequencies, well-rounded, tasty beats, and a range of diverse additives that cause no harmful side effects (yup, pun intended).

The polish dub master Radikal Guru is back to Moonshine Recordings with a heavyweight 12" vinyl on a 160bpm tip. This time he joins forces with two very talented MC's - Parly B and Baptiste to deliver yet another future classic. Tell dem fi run!

Alter follow on from the bilingual dark ambient theatricals of Liberez with this four track EP from veteran Hamburg producer Christoph De Babalon.

As an affiliate of Digital Hardcore, Fat Cat and the recently founded V I S, CDB has tirelessly explored the intersections of breakcore, illbient and drum and bass. His work is at once uncompromising yet stylish - broken, punishing rhythms collide with dreary, doom-laden melodies and those eerie in-between spaces of vintage Unit Moebius or Deutsch Nepal. With Hectic Shakes he delivers a meditation on the 'inner abyss', the sort of abyss that lulls the listener into his sound world with next to no resistance.

'Shakes and Shivers' fixates itself on deceptively playful grooves with eerie, nightbus-to-nowhere atmospherics whilst opening cut 'Harakiri' manages to distort familiar jungle tropes into something even die hard devotees of the sound will find fresh. The EP closes with what we can only describe as a homage to 90s ambient techno in a ruff, post-hardcore fashion. Skittering drums weave in and out of longing, futurist synth lines and enough breakdowns to satisfy the dance floor.

Electro-dub pioneers Dreadzone re-issue their 2001 album 'Sound'. The band formed in 1993 when ex-Big Audio Dynamite drummer Greg 'Dread' Roberts teamed up with Tim Bran, with the duo soon joined by bassist Leo Williams. Until the release of their fourth album 'Sound' in 2001 the band continually remixed itself, chopping and changing members (and record labels). Greg and Tim approached the new millennium with a fresh idea in the form of the Dubwiser Club night at Notting Hill Arts Club - a move that would sow the seeds for the birth of 'Sound' in 2001 on the Ruff Life label. They channelled their energy into DJ based club nights that fused dub and reggae with contemporary electronic beats to create the perfect soundtrack for people from different planets. This proved a fertile musical playground with immediate feedback on the Dreadzone sound. It was in this climate (and in a new studio) that the band would create 'Sound'. The album was written and evolved over a two year period at the turn of the century and featured contributions from Don Letts, Earl 16, Brinsley Forde and MC Det. It's also most notable for the first appearance of a certain MC Spee on the opening tune Return of Dread.
