A strong staple in the drum and bass scene for over a decade, Gridlok is no stranger to whipping up heavy, power-fuelled tracks guaranteed to leave a lasting impression. Ready to cause more chaos with a fresh spin on his trademark concoction of hard-hitting drums and driving basslines, Gridlok now gears up to unleash 13 face-melting new tracks on his new Z3R0 H0U2 LP.

Gridlok has been heading up his own label Project 51 Recordings since 2003 and has worked alongside some of the most high-profile artists in the scene, including Shy FX, Pendulum and Prolix. Dark, grimy and uncompromising, it's the Florida-born producer's experimental sound which gives him his unique edge.

Z3R0 H0U2 brings together a fiery selection of tracks to reaffirm Gridlok's reputation as a force to be reckoned with. Fans with a taste for the darker edges of the music spectrum can expect an album packed full of only the very best murky drum and bass as Gridlok makes a beeline for the early hours dancefloor. Twisting and turning through a mixture of fast-paced percussion and powerful rolling beats, Z3R0 H0U2 solidifies the artist's status as a true pioneer of one of the more off-centre subgenres.f

A natural homecoming for one of our favourite artists, we are proud to present the second album from Zero T on Dispatch Recordings; 'Little Pieces'.

Neatly forming over the past year, 'Little Pieces' marries all aspects of the Irishman's diverse, accomplished sound, progressing from the elegant piano foray 'Fortune Favours' to amen strewn tech stepper 'Dying Breed', filling all the gaps in between.

Collaborations with Beta 2 & Villem are backed by vocal features from DRS, Stamina and Steo; whose lyrics provided the album's core inspiration on the stunning title track, supported by Friction (on BBC Radio 1) and DJ Hype (Kiss FM). Following his acclaimed 2015 album 'Golden Section', Zero T continues his thematic, visual imagery; the album artwork reflecting the mosaic of his influences from over the years, carefully reconstructed into a cohesive body of work.

A true demonstration of his artistry, Zero T encapsulates everything we love about this genre in 'Little Pieces'.

Both hailing from Italy, Was A Be and Synth Ethics are two of the freshest talents emerging in drum & bass right now. Joining forces for Critical's Systems series sees them cementing this reputation even further with four unflinching tracks full of dance floor and ingenuity. Viva Italia!

UK drum & Bass, smart and soft jazzy drum & bass... dreamy style !

Every tune of the 12" is deeply inspired by the origins of the mid 90s melodic Jungle & D'n'B movement, namely by the greats of that era: Peshay, Source Direct, LTJ Bukem and Photek.

Ray & Karl have worked together on a number of projects over the last year, the most recent one being a split 12" on 'The Other Planet' of Lyon. While Ray has been connected to the Lo-Fi House scene and acts like Baltra, DJ Boring and DJ Seinfeld, Karl has been more low-key, producing music that's relaxed and organic, mainly inspired by naature and the musical movement around Frits Wentink and Max Graef.

For this release they worked closely together, decided to stray off their usual paths and combined their different styles to form a well-rounded record.
'Make Me Feel So Good' does just what its name implies. With a rising pad chord, a syncopated break and a soothing vocal, it is the perfect opener for this vinyl.
The second and name-giving track of this EP, 'Project Chicago', samples the surely most-often heard piece of Brian Eno and transforms it to a relaxing yet uplifting track that takes you back to the days where you could easily make a cup of tea while you waited for a website to load.

The B-side unfolds with the most acute drum-programming on this release and a fairylike lead vocal, moving you to 'Feel It'.

To conclude this 4-tracker, Karl delivers a very interesting mix of organic Arps and nature sounds and punchy breaks. The deep subbass-line will resonate through your whole once you hear this one on the dancefloor.

From her early days raised as a youth in Bombay, Asha Puthli initially trained in Indian classical music and opera, but over time gravitated towards contemporary western pop, upon discovering talents like Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and Dusty Springfield. After making a name for herself in her native country, she found her way to New York, where she happened upon John Hammond of CBS Records. Hammond would introduce Puthli to the avant-garde legend Ornette Coleman, who utilized her unique vocal stylings on his 1971 record Science Fiction. Her work on the album earned widespread praise, and though it didn't lead to further work in the United States, it did bring her a record contract in Europe. In 1973, Puthli released her self-titled debut through CBS, which would not see release in the US, but was subject to widespread critical acclaim and fascination throughout Europe. Asha Puthli was produced by Del Newman, who had done arrangements and production for Elton John's famed album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", of which Puthli was a professed fan, and featured a cover image heavily inspired by the glam aesthetics of groups like T. Rex, David Bowie, and Queen. These aesthetics would also blend into the music itself, an 8-song collection featuring renditions of songs by George Harrison, J.J. Cale, Bill Withers, and others, plus one original by Puthli herself. Asha Puthli is a remarkable work of its time, for its daring amalgamation of pop sensibilities, jazz sultriness, and experimental eirdness. A sensuous work of jazz / disco fusion that pre-dated Donna Summer's slick, and eccentric works.

Cosmic Bridge welcomes yet another new talent to the roster: UK producer Jordan Parsons aka Crypticz, who for the past few years has been distilling influences from drum & bass, dubstep, and footwork into a deeply personal sound. Following EPs and singles for Different Music, Inflect Audio, and Doc Scott's own 31 Records, Crypticz delivers a personal, emotive release for Cosmic Bridge. Forever was put together over the past year by Om Unit and Crypticz — with the label boss inviting Parsons to take more risks and guiding him into the fog.' As a result the EP offers a distilled, more refined take on the dub aesthetic that has powered the young producer's music to date.

The title track gets right to the point with layers of delayed bleeps and clicks creating a dense rhythmic bed. Crypticz then finds the space in the layers inserts a simple 2-step drum pattern as well as a driving, guttural bass line, and strings to complete the sonic picture. Breathe, close your eyes, and just let go. 'Shapes of You' was inspired by a collection of '80s synthesizer sounds Om Unit shared with Crypticz and which drove the creation of a track with distinct yet complimentary melodic and rhythmic parts. The slow, droning synthesizers envelope the listener while the gently rolling rhythm stands somewhere to the side. The overall mood is inviting and meditative, full of space for the listener to nestle in and find their own shape.

'The Crawler' is the EP's most direct dancefloor track yet still sidesteps the obvious, an eyes-down roller in the finest Cosmic Bridge tradition. Flutes, percussion, and synthesizer elements expand slowly to achieve a subtle sense of progression despite the track's seeming sense of stasis. The EP closes with 'Spirit On (For Z)', written as a dedication to a loved one, a spacious and stretched out ambient workout with sparse percussion, droning bass, and softly layered pads that still manages to give a sense of rolling out despite the lack of obvious rhythms. The digital version of the EP includes an alternate version of 'Spirit On', which further stretches the ambient warmth of the track.

By taking a dive further into the abyss of dub and ambient, Crypticz has emerged with a four-track EP that perfectly balances the itching tension of technoid rhythms with the relaxed ease of dub echoes. Forever echoes some of the early work by label boss of Om Unit while maintaining a forward look. It's a fitting addition to Cosmic Bridge's growing catalogue of outernational dubwise, bass heavy music.

The forthcoming album Different Breed from DC Breaks has been years in the making. Featuring a massive fifteen tracks and including some of their best loved singles from recent years, DC Breaks have delivered a massive feat that will ensure their place within the drum & bass anthology. From their song writing ability to their wide-ranging DJ support, the producers' output has shone through in playlists across the dance music spectrum. From BBC Radio1's Annie Mac, to 1xtra's Mistajam and revered music icon Zane Lowe, they've received a plethora of A-list spins.
Having made multiple festival appearances across the last two years, including NASS, Arcadia Glastonbury, Beyond Wonderland and Prague's infamous Let it Roll, they've become a staple on the DJ circuit. They've teased many album tracks out to huge crowds of drum & bass lovers, taking festival sets into vocal crescendos and sonic annihilation with their hard-hitting, no holds-barred anthems.
Including their recent collaboration with underground heavyweight Prolix for Infinity, the renowned VIP for DC Breaks' classic Gambino, the jump-up vibes of Underground and the uplifting-melodies of Never Stop (which helped to sound track the Olympics, Formula 1 and Match of the Day) and Everybody, Different Breed also includes huge array of fresh cuts. Dipping their feet once again into the world of neuro, MC Nuklear joins them on Dead or Alive for an intimidating cut whilst Vendetta moulds their signature basslines into an even darker realm. Remember, Step Up, Organism and Hustle also jump into the fray, proving that DC Breaks discography still has its grittier side that snaps its jaws with every break.
On the other end of the spectrum sits records like Time to Kill ft. Diane Birch, who offers her climatic high-notes for a dynamic roller, as well as Moving On and No One Like You ft. Niara Scarlett, adding a soulful dash to an already impressive set of featuring artists. And lastly, SWAG 2017 makes an appearance, a rework of the track which catapulted DC Breaks onto Beatport's number one position for a month.
Different Breed will stand as a testament to not just their longevity, but their experience and growth as artists throughout decades. Released on Ram Records, another resounding name within the electronic scene, their debut LP will be met with anticipation from both old and new fans. It also signifies another monumental part of their journey. A journey not looking to be over anytime soon.

New Zealand's most prolific J-tek enthusiast Dan Silk aka Worldwide Epidemic returns to the Myor camp, this time for a solo release on the Diamond Life sublabel.

On 'Aroha' he finds himself exploring territory slightly removed from his usual 4x4 Jungle Techno habitat. Extended pads, techy synth stabs, sugar coated diva vocals and spot of Amen choppage courtesy of label boss Coco Bryce make for a top notch 7 minute atmospheric D&B junglist excursion.

American musician Aaron Spectre turns up the volume with four tracks of jungle punk rock intensity, continuing his mission of uniting cultures at their roots. Here we have four tunes of guitar, relentless amens, deep bass, and soulful soundclash vocals, ready to rumble your space of choice. Also on the menu is a collaboration with fellow ragga junglist FeyDer, rounding out a brilliant EP which inspires and shakes foundations.

When heavyweights collide in any arena there's always going to be fireworks, and The Violent Five EP sees two such goliaths, Black Sun Empire and State Of Mind, go head-to-head across six dark-edged dancefloor killers.

Black Sun Empire have long been a fan favourite when it comes to tough breaks and decimating basslines. The Dutch collective have been producing seminal hits since what feels like the dawn of time and show no signs of slowing down. Traverse the globe and touch down in New Zealand and you have the birthplace of another drum & bass behemoth, State Of Mind; a duo so influential that if you were to pick the name of a top D&B label from a hat it's likely that Pat & Stu have released music with them.

All too often we see these sorts of collaborations creating a false positive, but not in the case of The Violent Five EP. From the offset, it is clear that each party has brought their relative strengths to the table and put a stark focus on the implementation of those abilities for maximum effect. The beats pound through driving bass and the atmosphere created from the sheer energy of each track is literally electric.

Arctic Music presents Venera.

Venera is a deep emotional title adding further shelflife to the growing Arctic Music catalogue. Searing guitars, keys and chime moods escalate over sharp breaks Alaska style.

Arctic Foundations's Criterion makes a welcome return on the flipside featuring Kiyomi Grounds on vocals. A small twist alongside the original intense Amen breaks with a longer 9 minute digital excursion.

'Lay Your Armour Down' is a stunning sensation of vocal chops and distinguished breakbeat as well as 'Frozen Grass', that brings a wave of warmth with gentle keys and soothing songwriting.

The tranquil and mysterious Finnish wilderness coupled with total isolation fuelled his inspiration. It was through this detachment that he was truly free to pursue his art in the purest form. As is portrayed through the words of Etherwood's favourite scholar Arthur Schopenhauer.

Proudly presenting the new 'Nighthawks' EP from the label founder, Alix Perez. Each track is vastly different from the next. Javeon's vocals are a stunning addition, and 'Blips' is a nod to the harder, technical and more industrial side side of Alix's musical character. Lucky Charm and the title track bear Alix's signature style and sound, and provide progression, dynamic and movement.

Jungle/Breakcore legends Deformer are back with another horror infused release: 'The Living Dead Deformed'. Deformer is known for putting the shock into electronic music and pushing the horror experience to another level. During their shows they cut off limbs and intestines are thrown into the audience while the extreme music turns the crowd into raging freaks. 'The Living Dead Deformed' pays hommage to one of the biggest horrorfilm classics of all time: 'Night of the living dead' (1968) and its creators.

The record was produced before the unfortunate passing of George A. Romero. Out of respect, Deformer chose put out the record as a non-profit, limited edition, numbered by hand, green coloured vinyl release. The amazing cover art is created by legendary visual artist Graham Humphreys (A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Evil Dead, Poltergeist).

'The Living Dead Deformed' is dark, menacing and will again turn parties into moshpits.
