Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

Our favourite Austrian D&B super group return to round off their year with the absolutely firing 'Elektrik EP'. Brimming with four tracks of super sonics, Fourward yet again prove their credentials, arming us with the most high-end ammo perfect to bring down any dance.

I guess with this EP we wanted to try and mix it up a bit more again, like we used to do, a couple of years ago. We didn't want to have a 4 track EP representing only one "niche" of D&B. Touching all corners of our music became more important to us again and that's what we did while we made this EP. During the summertime we wrote quite a bit of the more soulful, more viby stuff, and we definitely wanted to have one of these tracks on the new release ('Memories Of You'). We took a few months to write a whole lot of music and picked these 4 tunes to be our new EP. All in all it's a good representation of what we're doing right now'. Fourward

Brooding, sonically unrepentant and oozing with the kind of stylistic sophistication Stealth is renowned for, this next single on Program sees the welcome return of an underground titan.

Fierce yet technically adept, 'Desert Storm' reintroduces you to a producer who helped to chisel Program's persona. Stealth takes you deep into its composition, amongst falling amen breaks and cleverly distorted bassline, which only adds to the track's moody atmospherics. Through hollowed out horn samples and clucking drum rolls, you're thrown into subterranean riddim of flying beats, underpinned by a sub which ricochets throughout.

Flipside 'The Truth' is fronted by one of the most renowned MC's of the last decades. With Fat's on vocals, you're taken into a vastly different double A, with the MC adding a soulful twist amid piano arpeggio loops, elongated before cascading into the mix. Underpinned by strummed guitar plucks and shivering percussion, it demonstrates Stealth's ability to hone in on his art, presenting two diverse subjects.

Stealth's return will only see momentum grow. With an album looming, expect his catalogue of ruminating dancefloor numbers to expand into the New Year. You know the deal, it's once again...time to get with the Program!

* The original Jungle don Firefox is back where it all began with a brand new single for Philly Blunt.
* So Solid and Keep It Raw are two dancefloor smashers, and this dynamic duo are tasters from the forthcoming debut Philly Blunt album, due later this year.

* If the tunes Warning, Bonanza Kid, Buck Rogers, Who Is It and Bass Switch mean anything to you - then you know what to expect - bonafide anthems that will have dancefloors blazing into the next millennium! If you don't know, it's time to study up and we can guarantee that regardless of whether you've been raving for 2 years, or 20 years - you'll know this man and his music!

The name Legion & Logam has resonated since their first output on the Program imprint. With vocal roller 'House of Cards' being picked up by some of the dance world's leading tastemakers, it saw the production trio ascend to a very critical point in their career. And the glass ceiling has been broken; it was only apt for such rising stalwarts to be given the monumental 25th release in the label's discography.

'Holding On' and 'Afterthought' also follow their exclusive signing to the Ram Group... Although it was only a matter of time before the USA born artists were taken on by a label of that calibre

* One of biggest releases of the year! Fact!...Mefjus & InsideInfo get straight to the point with the biggest DNB bomb in 2015!!

* 'Footpath' Mefjus & InsideInfo team up with NZ's finest...The Upbeats for an all-time dream-team mash up that results in the uncontrollable urge to leap around and let it all go...Virus style...this drops so much it made the front row of a recent party all automatically win the World Gurning Champions 2015 and reminds the rest of us why music is fun.

* 'Leibniz' Not only the most pure form of bass music you can ever hear...it has deep tricks in the rhythms which mix time-signatures effortlessly but still sounds so flowing. It has production at the cutting- edge but doesn't ever over-produce and captures the most raw and essential power you can hear in any electronic music in 2015.

* This exclusive Hospital 12' features four tracks, with Netsky's original version backed up by Fred V & Grafix's storming drum+bass refix, as well as an outstanding, genre bending remix from the man like Wookie, and a 4x4 re-rub by the legend that is Todd Edwards.
* Featuring vocals from the inimitable Beth Ditto of 'The Gossip' on top of Netsky's supercharged drum+bass melodies this is the first new single from Netsky since his award winning album '2' smashed into the UK top 30 in 2012.
* Debuting on Zane Lowe's Radio One show as 'Hottest Record In The World', 'Running Low' has notched up over 180,000 plays on soundcloud in under a month.
* 'Running Low' is the first taste of new material from Netsky, who has been locked in the studio, busily working on his third album which will be released later in 2014.

8 TRACK 2 x 12" VINYL INCLUDES FULL 13 TRACK DOWNLOAD INSERT.
* Following on from September's release of the 3 track LP sampler QUADRANT + KID HOPS + IRIS return with the full 13 track LP '206', and it's a belter, featuring guest appearances from all kinds of folks.

* Hailing from a small village in the north west of the Unites States called Seattle, Leigh & Karen Caplan - (Quadrant & Iris), made intimate friends with longtime local hero Kyle Hopkins - (Kid Hops) and before long their late night antics became ones of a musical nature.

* Quadrant is a long time producer & DJ of D&B with releases on Commercial Suicide, Dispatch, C.I.A., Renegade Hardware, Citrus.

* Kid Hops is a long standing Seattle radio & Club DJ respected worldwide with 2 radio shows on Seattle's KEXP station. He was among the first to bring the D&B sound to the city.

* Iris is the relative newcomer of the crew but already making waves with her DJing & production skills, she brings the funk, soul and beauty along side a healthy dose of dirty nasty riffage.

* Wolves resident SB81 delivers a huge EP for Metalheadz, his first full outing on the label after two EPs on sister label MethXX.

* Sculptures
The EP kicks off with Sculptures, a half time track that signals back to classic era Rufige Kru. The track unfolds as it progresses with an almost cinematic feel after the second drop. The EP certainly starts as it means to go on.

* Final Cut
SB81 creates a track that pushes broken rhythms to very furthest, the track is all about the drum work. Something that SB81 is becoming a master of, a classic Headz feel pushed forward into 2015.

* Never Mind
Yet another example of innovative drum work from SB81, Never Mind has more in common electronica as much as it does dnb, tense strings are worked against interesting fx and an all -enveloping sub bass carries all the weight needed to make work on the dancefloor

Six new Two Fingers (a.k.a. Amon Tobin) tracks including a Noisia feature on 180 grams 12inch vinyl and free download of the digital.

The seminal second album from Rene LaVice shows a commitment not only to musical diversity, but also his chartered growth as an artist. One of the most creatively unique journeys that any LP has offered from the Ram Records camp, it pedestals music which has been present throughout sets from the past year. Whether that's been on the stages of Las Vegas' EDC, championed by revered label head Andy C, or at Download Festival, Glastonbury and during support slots for The Prodigy by Rene himself, there are stand out tracks which fans have already been made familiar with on dancefloors across the globe. And the wait for their release has been met with baited breath.

Already hitting airwaves with debut album 'Insidious', which received Radio1 airplay from Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw and Mistajam, the follow up has received support from the likes of Beats1 mogul Zane Lowe and MTV. 'The Calling' found itself nestled on Radio1's daytime playlists, whilst rock-inspired 'Part of Me' was premiered on iTunes biggest streaming platform.

From the slamming 808s of the aptly named 'Fook it', to the indie, vocal lead crescendos of 'Wave', Rene clearly smashes a prototype throughout the LP's entirety. You're also reintroduced to Radio1 A-list record 'The Calling', as well as dancefloor detonator 'Air Force One' and an array of other singles which have set the album's precedent. Plenty of fresh new cuts add to the impressive track listing, with opening track 'Lights Outs' featuring the rasp of David Moombah and clunking reece bass, whilst album closer 'Riot All Right' ends on Rene's own signature voice notes.

Merging together so many stylistic features, taken from an array of influences, this album presents a multi-levelled approach to music making, drawing not just from electronic music but also genres celebrated worldwide. 'Play with Fire' will stand as one of the most pivotal release in not only Rene's discography, but also across drum & bass as a whole... A ground breaking set of records which prove the genre's development, from the jungle breaks of the 90's, to its adaption to the contemporary world.

With each release, Stealth has slowly made his presence known within your musical subconscious. Taking hold of every synapse with drops of LFO induced devastation he's now merged with the other figureheads of a dnb underworld to bring you his 'Alliance EP'. And believe us when we say, this is one not to miss.

Already firmly asserting himself amongst the Program roster, his meticulously crafted cuts have helped push the imprint as an underground tastemaker. And the unstoppable partnership is back, with a gritty and technically adept EP... Proving once again they're a force to be reckoned with.

Rolling up first alongside Stealth is Dirty Hertz, with the two producers proving their flare for contemporary drum and bass. Renowned for their intricately layered composition, 'Revival' is both uncompromising and delicately woven. Vigorously snapping hi-hats help to underpin an aggressive bassline, moving along a construction line gradually being built upon between pounding subs. It's the perfect starter, helping to epitomise the sound Program represents, Aggressive musicality that boasts of ingenuity... the type that often goes unrivalled.

Then we're introduced to Stealth & Xtrah's 'Everytime'. As you'd expect, this track is totally different from its predecessor, although it's just as precisely orchestrated. Pushed forward by domineering drum loops, Stealth's style oozes in between each bar, it's a frequency that drops dangerously low. Wraith-like vocals dip in and out of the record's stockier elements, with a juxtaposition which is tasteful whilst still making an impact.

Stealth and Stylus have already proved their working dynamics result in epic sound clashes and 'Bulgan' is no different. Building with intensity, there's all out anarchy as it dives into a steppy riddim. This is then diced up by randomly ducking, skipping samples and winding breaks. With quickly zipping beats helping to pad out its configuration, there's no mistaking the intricacy between every break. Stealth and Stylus smash it once again and they guarantee something new with every listen.

Lastly, Stealth and Quaed take the stand with 'Passenger'. A demonstration of Stealth's dynamics, the two begin with an intimidating fluctuation of note patterns overlaying a cinematic entrée. Metallic drums pound in between sections, creating a hard-driven melody which pulls you through a sonic-rollercoaster of sound. The perfect way to wrap up four sonic assaults, look no further for tracks to pull you into the season's darker months.

A host of alliances from one of Program's finest Stealth unleashes another defiant slab of bass. It's the lead up to his debut album, a step towards another phenomenal release from the artist.

So once again, it's time to get with the Program... a catalogue that never disappoints.

Along with this stellar cast, the label has plans for releases from BCee, DuoScience, David Boomah and more, and have signed up remixes and vocal tracks from the likes of Total Science, Concord Dawn and Hannah Eve and LaMeduza, amongst others.
The EP starts off with the Skynet remix of Chewy Jetpack's epic Mars. Take a trip through the galaxy to the Red Planet as Skynet lays down a headnodding beat over which slide some creepy movie samples. The pace is picked up as the bass starts to invade your consciousness. Mars has a straightahead funk to it, reminding you of the power of the music and the quality which Soul Trader have brought together.
Skynet returns with solo track Fractal next, shimmering into being around a tightly controlled starting point. The basslines ramp into life, the beats are tougher than tough, and Skynet goes in with precision and direction. This is followed by a quick Chop Shop Burn, courtesy of Random Movement. This one works on so many levels, with subtle hints of sound wrapping their way around deep, rumbling bass and persistent beats. Let this one wash over you, as Random Movement draws you in in his own unique style and fashion.
Switch 2 Suspense is the command from Surplus & Scifa, and comes in the form of a Digital remix. Hidden depths will delight the attentive listener, as the remix adds layers of sound amid some huge, crushing beats and effects. Rangy, sweeping, but with precise pressure points, this is an encapsulation of the future of drum & bass music.t

Citrus Recordings present the Fugitive EP by Zero T and Mindmapper & Silvahfonk. Dancefloor sounds with class made by producers you should keep an eye out for.

Fresh of his sophomore album on Dispatch Recordings, Zero T continues to impress with impeccable skill and style when it comes to producing drum & bass. ''The Funnel'' is based around deep stabs and raging mid bass sounds over powerfull rolling beats. Signature Zero T sounds right here.

On the flip an exciting duo takes over with a track called ''The Fugitive''. Dutch drum & bass frontrunners Mindmapper & Silvahfonk manage to deliver a techno infused stepper with plenty of weight to keep the dancefloor going. Essential.

Dub Phizix drops an exclusive-packed 40 track mix of DnB, halftime, hip hop and myriad bass-packed breakbeats for the latest in the FABRICLIVE series, featuring 22 unreleased songs 12 of which are Dub Phizix productions and collabs!

His music, described by Mixmag as 'essential material', has an irreverent edge, yet is deadly serious in its dancefloor approach, reflecting the character of the Manchester producer, born George Ovens. He has released on labels such as Exit, Soul:R, Critical, Samurai Music, Commercial Suicide, Dispatch, Ingredients and his own SenkaSonic, whilst his remix portfolio is also impressive, with reworks for Charli XCX, Netsky, Panjabi MC, Skittles, Chimpo, Basement Jaxx, Kelis, Breach, Sizzla and more. Playing regularly at fabric since 2011, his 'Well Good Do' with Strategy now hosts room 2.

'I first played fabric B2B with Stray for a Critical night and it felt like a real landmark for me, but by the end of the year I'd played three or four times. Even though it's been a while since I played there, room 3 has a great intimate feel because you're literally a foot from the crowd. One that I really enjoyed in there was early on. It was an Exit records night and it was heaving and I had loads of brand new tunes that no-one had heard. People were leaning over the decks taking pictures of the names of tunes of the CDJs. The next month I played there again and I had to change all the names of stuff I wanted to keep a secret so they couldn't do it. For about three months, my artist name on my CDs was 'Phil fuckin Collins' Since that time, fabric has become like a second home. They can't get rid of us till about 9am most times we're there. It's usually the cleaning staff who send us home! Nowadays I mainly play room 2. I've played all three rooms but the stage in room 2 is my favourite.' - Dub Phizix

FABRICLIVE 84 is in many ways a paean to Dub Phizix's hometown, bookended with tongue-in-cheek references to Manchester's 'Rainy City' moniker and closing with a tribute to the city from the poet Matthew David Scott. Bringing together the known and (as yet) unknown, the mix features 22 unreleased tracks, 12 of them Dub Phizix's own new productions. There are collabs with DRS, Skeptical, Xtrah, Chimpo and Strategy and specials and features from Chunky, Strategy and Ward 21. Cruising at a foot-to-the-floor 40 tracks per hour, the pace would border on relentless were it not tempered through smart selections of tempo and rhythm switches. The skill in introducing this broad selection of beats into a coherent and body moving mix is at the heart of this new FABRICLIVE set.

With "Paralellabyes" and it's companion 7-inch "Lil' Dog Toes", bossFYTE establishes themselves firmly in the ranks of the new IDM pioneers at Detroit Underground, while maintaining their legacy as the rascals of sonic buffoonery. Sparse shifting textures, lush spatial treatment, and their trademark mischievous editing lead you into unexpected sonic territory. At once moody and whimsical, organic and structured, a combination of crisp sound design and fluid processing explore the depths of cold digital space. The "B-Side" is a jaw dropping re-invention of bossFYTE's 2012 single "Think About It", brought to you by none other than the godfather of generative modular exploration, Richard Devine. Expect nothing less than his signature brew of fractured rhythmic patterns, massive impacts, and morphing futuristic abstraction.

* Following on from strong support of the first sampler, Break teams up with legendary vocalist Singing Fats for this second taste of the Simpler Times album.
* An upbeat summery reggae intro laced with soulful and conscious vocals from Fats leads you into a devastating and heavyweight drop. Jungle inspired drum break switches and massive sub bass tones deliver full impact, as the catchy Fats vocal states It's the bass that's driving you crazy'. The dub version exclusive to Digital Download extends the moreish reggae intro to a full laid back dub groove.
* The flip side is a fresh solo cut from Break. An uplifting synth and piano hook in the intro builds the pressure for a full on gritty and stepping drop. Tough live but studio refined beats lash down congealed with an almost over the top amount of distorted pumping bass. Punchy tom drum fills whip you back in for another time around. This one's a definite club stomper.
* This exclusive B side will not be included on the full album.
* All tracks are available as full Digital Download Single and Vinyl 12" Single.

* Support from Dj's such as : Calyx & Teebee, Spectrasoul, Friction, Survival, Ulterior Motive, Xtrah, DLR and many

* We are pleased to welcome Survival & Silent Witness back to Dispatch for their next release, entitled the 'Trust No One EP'. Featuring two incredible new tracks from the duo, the EP also includes remixes of 2013 'In From The Wild' album track, 'Fletcher'.

* Rolling it out with decisive force and in signature style from the duo, two original tracks from Survival & Silent Witness kick off the EP

* With a surge in energy capable of causing nothing short of carnage on the dancefloor, 'Trust No One' sets things off, in a clamoring exchange between mechanical entities.

* Building the intro in merciless, near apocalyptic fashion, 'Cutter' is the next to follow on the EP, as resounding low ends terrorize irrefutably beneath tightly chopped breaks.

* Emerging from our 'Fletcher' remix competition as the overall winner, Slovakian based Minor Rain comes correct with a fantastically balanced re-work, retaining the musicality of the original, echoing the emotions over a dark, more stripped back core.

* Although only intending to release one winner, we had no choice but to select two runner-up submissions to be released in addition, upon hearing an array of top quality entries, with a thunderous re-fix by Depth Mode and a gritty 140 flip from Diecast.

Repress Alert!
This first release on One Seven Five is served up by label bosses DJ Hidden and Eye D themselves, and firmly sets the course for the label. Surreal creeps in with a slow, dark intro only to land straight into two bars of relentless kickdrums which lead into a set of snaredrums that are almost more intense than the kickdrums.

For those that couldn't find him on PRSPCT Recordings, well he's back with a massive 4 tracker!

Crystal clear vinyl in die-cut logo jacket. Paradox Music welcomes a new and proven artist to the label with an impressive discography under his belt - Naibu.
'Straight Lines' is a thing of beauty with its organic percussion, synths, pianos, brass, bleep and vocal hooks - and that's just a small instrument percentage. Rolling b-boy breaks switch with escalating filtered pads and distorted bass snaps. A great debut from Naibu with 'Straight Lines.' Paradox Music Quality. PM031 worthy. 'Replaced' swings in with Rhode keys and bells flying on top of funky breakbeats for a high quality Drum & Bass number reminiscent of early Seba productions. Bleep pops and bass strums let the drums breathe whilst switching with the key changes. Impressive.

Another massive 4 track EP on Black Pearl from Lost City, a production team with an undeniable appreciation for the Old School and a hard hitting-fresh approach to the new.

Lost City effortlessly fuses Dancehall Reggae with the tried and true UK underground Jungle Sound in a way that has never been done before, effectively creating a new genre with crossover potential and maximum dance floor appeal. "Retreat" is a banging re-fix that takes us clear back to the 90's with style, instantly recognizable vox, syncopated jungle edits, lead stabs, and an addictive sub pattern. "New Gun" reaches back and delivers a new rock solid rendition of a tune that every Reggae head and Junglist will love. "Coca Cola '15" is a sexy rework of a dancehall scorcher in a modern bashment style. Equally at home in a Kingston dance or a London rave, this gem demonstrates Lost City's effectiveness while giving the ladies something to whine to; effectively hitting in all the right places. "Wild Wild West" is more sublime, but equally as potent, with heavy vocal hooks, dub fx, jungle drum pattern, and a jump worthy drop. Once again Lost City delivers the goods! Golden vocals, dope breaks, catchy edits, swing, and heavy subs make these tracks instant crowd pleasers.

This production outfit represents the next level in Jungle Drum & Bass and Dancehall music, effortlessly delivering fresh interpretations of classic Jamaican and UK anthems that are guaranteed to crush at the clash and shake any dance.
