The Wire Magazine - "Chimpo is known as a larger-than-life figure at the heart of Manchester's scene, and on the title track here you can hear his preposterous scally-patois stream of consciousness that suggests he might be a kind of post-Flowdan successor to the likes of John Cooper Clarke, Mark E
Smith and Shaun Ryder. But you don't get onto dBridge's label just for funtimes lyrics and this shows him producing with classic EXIT crispness and starkness in the 85bpm/170bpm slowfast' zone. On Restless Leg Syndrome' and two collaborations with Fixate, he makes footworking jitter sound more English than anyone previously - thanks partly to virtuouso UK/Jamaican voice cut-ups - but it's Haymaker' that's the obvious showstopper, being essentially a dubwise remake of Schooly D's immortal PSK' with morphing bass, electrocution buzz and and rich rave pads.

An infamously quick-fire dj, as well as one of the most hotly tipped producers to date, Frankee is returning yet again with a single to further solidify his position.
Whether it's from a set played on the notorious Ibiza waterfront, or amongst a packed out, dimly lit stage in super club Fabric, you'll instantly recognise these refined cuts premiered over the last six months. Detonating a hard lined crowd at Drum & Bass Arena's Easter weekend, Power and Downtown are of two totally different flavours, yet still pull raw energy and emotion from dancefloors globally.
Featuring the vocal talents of Simon Franks, 'Downtown' demonstrates an ability to tap into a hugely diverse range of capacities. Fading between carefully textured breaks, as well as a cleverly distorted bass, it spans a hugely intricate composition. Fluctuating note patterns perfectly underpin slowly elevated synths; cutting open and laying bear the producer's depth. Working his more emotive soundscape 'Downtown' epitomises Frankee's versatility and his multidimensional approach to music making.
On the flipside, a much darker standard is set. Winding up before clanking into a maze of snapping hi-hats, reverberating bass and barrages of driving drum loops 'Power' demonstrates the harder style of his production, as seen in previous tracks like 'Snarl' and 'Excalibur'. Brooding, gritty and a perfect 4am grinder, the delivery of this next single presents two opposing tracks that help to exemplify Frankee's vast discography.

Following from the sounds of soul and jungle, chapter three of the 'Fast Music' series dives into the deeper levels of drum & bass. 'Fast Warehouse Music' draws forty-six tracks from the Hospital Records back-catalogue that rewind the clock to the days of the warehouse raves, swamping concrete jungles with all-surrounding subs from unforgiving sound-systems.
Cut the lights and descend into the darkness with two hours of Hospital classics mixed by longstanding member of the Hospital team, Nu:Tone. Unearthed are the works of Hospital favorites (Nu:Logic, Lynx and S.P.Y), Med School experimenters (Royalston, Rawtekk, Anile, Bop and Joe Syntax) as well as prominent players Photek, Commix, Subwave, Enei and Stray.
Ready to transform any derelict space into a hub of beating drums and heightened heart rates 'Fast Warehouse Music" calls on the industrial influences within drum & bass, cultivated from decades of the underground scene and still remain in today's thriving rave culture.

The Binary Collective is dBridge, Kid Drama, Consequence & Joe Seven. The project was conceived in one studio, the Exit Records hub that's known as Rosie's Box.The album was written on hardware as opposed to software; a purposeful manipulation of machines. The creation process was a series of live 'jams' that pushed the machines as far as they could go in order illustrate the narrative that collective had in mind; a time where corporations control all our personal information. The album becomes a soundtrack for a future that we find ourselves hurtling towards whilst we are distracted by so called modern world entertainment, It's timely message by The Binary Collective.

* Shogun's explosive start to the year continues with the arrival of more heavy artillery from Joe Ford. Having hoodwinked us all several months ago with the leftfield sounds of 'Off Centre', here he comes full circle with an array of drum & bass designed to hit us wear it hurts.
* Joe explains, 'the goal of this new EP was to play a little bit with the normal limitations that I set myself, keep the tunes at 172bpm but switch up the rhythms and layout of the sounds so that this piece of work would stand out from the from others.'
* Like a call to arms, Joe kicks off with the militant sounds of 'All Of Us', a track that sees him pushing the levels to the extreme with its manic riff of pitched up drums pushing ferociously through the mix. Impossible to forget this one in a hurry.
* 'Snares' opens with a definite air of 80's melancholy that lulls us before an absolutely heinous drop that sees Joe drawing on his metal sensibilities for an outrageous slice of drum and bass.
* Shifting even further up the gears comes 'Crossbreed', an enormous collaborative effort with the mighty Icicle in attendance. 'We had this 16 bar switch up thing going on, a lot of the time we were just sharing techniques messing around on Logic, somewhere in the middle a tune got written! I remember us saying we weren't going to go too hard with it....guess that didn't workout!'
* Finally the bouncing, sci-fi funk of 'VE3' completes the impressive set, rolling out as one of Joe's most epic floor fillers to date. Pure, big room vibes through and through. Simply huge.
* 2015 is set to be a big year for the Harrogate native with collaborations.

Sprinting at an incredible speed, June Miller are inevitably coming closer to their debut album. With seven more days until this conundrum of genre cross-pollination and production ingenuity is unleashed, here's a small appetiser to prepare yourself for an eclipse, caused by June Miller's vast capabilities. 'Chain of Strength' is an introduction which hits you with wave after wave of seismic bass-driven impact. Lead unsuspectingly from a lulling piano intro, straight through a chasm of smashing, hardcore-reminiscent percussion and driving drums, it proves the duo's endless versatility. Alongside a building break that literally pulses with anticipation, that first drop leaves you free-falling into an explosion of tightly intricate composition. A complete sensory overload, it sets a standard matched by their new material. Then comes 'Last Night on Earth', creepy and gradually building tension with an instantly-recognisable sample of cinematic proportions. Both tracks are equally unstoppable, not leaving you time to breathe and carrying across an ocean of sound which is relentless. Amongst the ghost-like, clashing swords and almost untenable intensity, you're pulled through loops of incessant hi-hats, amongst palpitation-inducing drum patterns.

* We're proud to welcome Amoss back to Dispatch this October, as they deliver their much anticipated 2nd EP with four brand new tracks, entitled the 'Shadow Theories EP'.
* Displaying the full spectrum of the duo's sound, the EP also includes their next collaboration with Dutch producer Fre4knc, as well as additional features from Viv May and C.Tivey.
* Whether it's a speaker pulsator for the clubs or a subtly tech-tinged groove, Amoss have an inherent ability to master any vibe they turn to, seemingly effortlessly; delivering music that is aesthetically pleasing to fellow producers, without losing its wider dancefloor appeal.
* Old skool breaks, unpredictable percussive switches and an unmistakably infectious hook make up lead track 'The Wayman Break', followed by the neck churning 'Vortice' with Fre4knc, held by a ruthlessly tight drum pattern, a track displaying pure precision and attention to detail.
* Moving smoothly into 'Stalling Theme', the EP takes a more harmonic, tranquil direction, accompanied by a blissful blend of Viv May's vocals and C.Tivey on the keys, before things take a darker turn on the technical stomper 'Crooked Arm', as Amoss close off proceedings.

* After five years of releasing the most breathtakingly refreshing electronic music currently in the UK, Rockwell is readying his debut long player 'Obsolete Medium' for release through Shogun Audio. Fusing the boundaries between drum & bass, trap, hip hop, house and cinematic soundscapes, there's no mistaking the sound of Rockwell, bringing the most intricate production to dance floors across the world whilst trailblazing his own definitive direction. Typically punk from its inception 'Obsolete Medium' is an electronic adrenaline shot that mixes straight up hard-hitting D&B with sonic experiments that will leave jaws well and truly dropped. Including collaborations with some of his most respected peers namely Sam Binga, Breakage, Phace and Hyroglifics, Rockwell delivers a truly engrossing album encapsulating his growth from drum & bass artist through to one of the most accomplished music producers and DJ's to have emerged in recent times.
* 'After a lot of hard work and long days and nights in the studio, I am very proud to present my debut album 'Obsolete Medium'. Being honest, I was struggling for the last few years by trying to write a certain type of music that I thought people were expecting of me, and consequently not making much progress. I took a conscious decision to let the tunes develop organically and not try to force their direction. What resulted is a very naturally constructed collection of music reflecting my wide range of influences - punk drum fills, techno basses, dusty white noise and neon synths - whilst not heavily mirroring anything too obviously specific, and eschewing many of the cliches of modern dance music production. All the while, not taking the process too seriously and not being afraid to poke fun at myself and the traps of being an electronic music producer. I'm really happy to have a some of my friends on here with me including Breakage, Sam Binga, Hyrogliphics and long time sparring partner Phace. Shouts to you guys. I think that if you have found anything in my production, from the early days of 'Stowaway Dub' to 'Childhood Memories' to more recent tunes like 'Detroit', there should be something on the LP that will strike a chord with you.
Hope you enjoy it!- Rockwell 2015

And so we present the first solo music adventures from Fis. A Wellington, New Zealand native bred on a healthy diet of musical discovery and deep research into the deconstruction of rhythmic templates. His music has created it's own universe rumbling just outside any genre it comes close to. After passing a CD early in his musical development to Presha in the Samurai Record Store, Fis has gone on to develop a style that has caught the ear of names like dBridge, ASC, Synkro, Consequence, Loxy, Indigo, Ulrich Schnauss and Resident Advisor. RA were so dazzled by what they heard in an introductory mix from Fis on dBridge's Rinse FM Show they sought him out and featured him in a 'Breaking Through' article -. This piece
served as a powerful warning to the world of what was on the horizon, and could very well be the only interview with Fisfor some time. The first musical release from Fis came via 2 collaborations with New Zealand's Tokyo Prose on the first ever Samurai Horo 10" (Samurai Horo001) but this will be his first solo release. We are very proud to present this, the 'Duckdive' EP as a considered introduction to a world that needs another true artist with an unconventional and totally individual approach. We will leave the adjective adventures to the professional wordsmiths, it's obvious this music is furtive ground for lengthy discussion which we look forward to as the rest of the world discovers these magical creations. Watch for a 6 track EP from Fis on Exit Records to follow and much much more from this exciting musical creator.

With the outdoor party season in full swing, we are delighted to place another musical weapon at your disposal, that being the third part of our Project Mohawk series.
Bipolar is a relatively new name to world of drum & bass music, but this is no ordinary talent... After all, how many producers can boast a first ever track release with the mighty Metalheadz as part of their Platinum Breakz 4 compilation, alongside some of the biggest and best there have ever been But not content to sit back and draw praise, Bipolar has been locked away working on a whole host of new tracks, and having already featured on our Musical Currency Volume 2 Album, the lid is about to be lifted on his first solo EP with us.
Whether it is the Reece fuelled roll out opener that is Drowning, featuring the amazing vocal talents of Alexandria Wharram, or the deeper Amen driven energy of Spaced Out, this release cuts the perfect blend of musical grace with serious bass. With DJ and Press support coming from around the globe, this EP makes a worthy addition to any drum & bass aficionados' collection.

'Shatterdome' is stocky, imposing and forcibly holds you in its grasp. One of the most sought after, climatic anthems since it was first premiered within one of his infamous live shows and rinsed from Ibiza to the US by Andy C, 'Shatterdome' manipulates cinematic samples and pushes you into an apocalyptic soundscape. Quaking with every drum roll, it's a techy thumper which propels you through on steroids. A fresh cut elaborating on the producer's impeccable standards, this single is undeniably fierce. Just as intimidating is the double
AA side '2 Stroke'. A pounding riddim underpinned by a bassline that reverberates through, it's gradually built upon with a clanking cowbell before breaking into a synth like structure. Demonstrating a complexity which bares its teeth, whilst being indisputably intricate, Audio presents a flipside worthy of its predecessor.

Fokuz Recordings, founded early 1999 by Dreazz and Drum Origins, has been through a lot over a long, winding road. Thanks to the boundless dedication of our talented artists and the loving fans, we can now celebrate our 15th anniversary! Expect six 12'' records and a double CD packed with tracks by some of the most upfront names in present day drum & bass. This is 15 Yearz Of Fokuz - Episode 1.3.
After taking a break from production, Fokuz Recordings head honcho Dreazz teams up with Emery on 'Things'. Vintage stabs, reverberating vocals and rolling drums make this an collaborative effort that's already an essential purchase for D&B fans of a more chilled persuasion.
On the flip we find London based duo Reds dropping bombs with 'Showtime'. It's fast paced breaks, old skool funk samples and deep hoover bass will ignite any dance floor. Definitely one for the heads!

* Artificial Intelligence- Timeline is finally here, it's their first album released on Metalheadz and it's their most accomplished work to date.
* A mature, confident long player that when listening you can't help but feel is 'potential achieved' and a genuine pleasure to be releasing via the label.
* The aesthetic of the album harks back to early AI material. It's full of soul but at hints at darker moments amongst its beauty. The palette of the project draws on classic era Jungle and goes as far back as Chicago house but in its entirety it's much more than that; they are just some of the influences to be found on an expansive album that ticks many boxes.
* Collaborations on the album come from SCAR and newcomer Dawn Wall whilst vocals are taken care of by DRS, Terri Walker and MC Sense.
* Let's leave label boss Goldie to have the final say on the album; 'Artificial Intelligence have given us some great music in the past so naturally I'm really happy that we'll be releasing their latest album, I've been a fan for a long time'

* Digital & Spirit are back!! Three tracks of quintessential bass weight that only they could make
* The Wolf
Half time psychedelic roll out business from the pair, it's the perfect intro to the release. Dark and foreboding and strictly made for big systems, a very welcome return.
* Spiral
Spiral has touched of Detroit techno soul to it with its synth sweeps and stabs. A great mixing tool with its shuffling breaks, head nod central. The track remains massively interesting through its course as the subtle carriers come to life.
* Mosquito
Closing the release we have Mosquito, a reese laden dubbed out killer. Dubzilla era style takes the lead on this one, dark and yet retaining the famous funk they're known for.

The darkness descends once again when Necrotype drops 'The Stranger' onto our innocent ears with brain searing hoover stabs lashing forth during the intro joining rugged jungle breaks, ominous bass growls and dialogue borrowed from a certain infamous kidnap/revenge movie. Watch out for the mentasmic drop in the latter third. It's a killer!!!
KeeZee comes in correct with 'Renegade Junglist'. A heavyweight amen assault complete with intricate breakbeat edits, moody bass throbs, snippets of classic ragga chanting plus female vocal sighs and atmospheric synths and strings . A tearing piece of percussive craftsmanship to please all serious jungle and drum & bass headz.

The return of Loadstar has been marked with heightened anticipation... But looking at their extensive history, there's no denying their heritage and status within the drum & bass genre. Following the success of their debut 'Future Perfect' album, as well as their monumental live shows and kicking off the RamLife compilation in spectacular fashion, the Loadstar legacy is about to hit another milestone.
Having also remixed the likes of Rudimental, Noisia, Breakage, Chase & Status and Wolfgang Gartner, Loadstar uphold regimented production standards. This is something which is clear throughout their discography. Whether it's for daytime radio airplay, or the murkiest corners of the glob, each veteran commands a musical scope which dwarfs many of their counterparts.
Your first reintroduction to Loadstar's vast repertoire is vocal roller 'Native'. Blending the track's more humanistic elements against the fire of rapid drums and the underlay of piano arpeggios, it exposes a softer composition style which is still vastly intricate. Still dropping on impact, led by peaking voice notes, the bassline begins to distort, demonstrating a darker underbelly. Yet again the duo masters of their craft; Xample and Lomax demonstrate their skyscraper standards which have withheld against the test of time.
On the flipside, the producers dive you head first through a chasm of pounding bass. A driving riddim which juxtaposes the A-side perfectly, 'Once Again' is snappy, unapologetic and a track which is set to ignite any festival with the movement of feet. It embodies Loadstar's Mr. Hyde - it screams the same pent up aggression as 'Warrior' and leaves behind just as much destruction.
A record to reaffirm their versatility, this marks a reunion which will send cyberspace and the musical realm into turmoil. Loadstar are back and in their wake stands two tracks as formidable as the artists' longstanding reputation.

Following an impressive run of releases from the likes of State Of Mind, The Upbeats and most recently Neonlight already in 2014, Black Sun Empire's genre defining drum & bass imprint 'Blackout' are proud to announce newest signing to their already impressive roster -Dutch DJ/producer Pythius. Hard-hitting, Neurofunk style builds on Blackout's reputation for unearthing some of the best up-and-coming producer talent.
Title track 'Abandon' goes straight for the jugular with brutal slices of weapons-grade snares and a gritty, unrelenting bass line creating a melee of frenetic beats and melodies. 'BBT' channels snarling, brooding synths to bring an almost organic feel to proceedings.
With 'Abandon', Pythius demonstrates a natural flair for producing hard-edged, peak time drum & bass - a 2- tracker that feeds into Blackout's emphatic, no-holds-barred release policy. Already earning support from the likes of industry stalwarts Ed Rush & Optical, as well as label mates State of Mind and The Upbeats, expect Pythius's explosive brand of Neurofunk to crash onto dance floors everywhere.

After some sort of slumber, Shabu Recordings is proud to present its new series: SHARMX. SHARMX is pretty self-explanatory: these EPs will be a retrospective that breathes new life into tracks from previous releases. These born-again tracks are then presented under a new form that is dictated by another party, not previously involved in any creative process of the affiliated release. The word Shabu being Japanese for Splash, this leads us to our first installment in the series: Splash Splash Vol..

* A purveyor of the spectrum's deeper end, re-known for an ever quality output, we're pleased to present the 2nd album from Zero T, entitled 'Golden Section', coming on Dispatch this Autumn.
* Taking its name from a classical mathematic formula (illustrated on the album's artwork), Zero T explores the science and maths behind beauty; the factors and stimuli that govern our perception of balance, harmony and beauty in nature, art, architecture and composition.
* Exploring intrinsic reactions to music and how discerning elements can balance against one another, Zero T ventures into the senses across the album; from the mesmerising nostalgia of 'Macushla' and dubbed out roller 'Everything Must Change', to dancefloor poised punishers 'Good For Nothing' and 'Wolf Tone'.
* Each featuring 3 specially selected tracks from the album, parts 1 and 2 are split between elegantly arranged solo jaunts, such as 'Late Nite Movies' and more technically focused collaborations. Linking up with Fierce on the unrelenting, yet, mischievously sampled 'Cross It', Zero T also joins fellow Dubliner Beta 2, with two industrial workouts, including harsh stomper, yet groove driven 'Cairo'.
* Utilizing the technical apparatus to investigate a long adopted term, Zero T carefully maps out the indices to deliver a classic, all-encompassing long player that evokes the senses in numerous ways.

* Over the years, drum & bass has seen literally thousands of record labels come and go. But amid the seemingly infinite imprints that have provided an outlet for the music, very few can claim to have had anywhere near the influence of the mighty Virus Recordings.
* Ed Rush & Optical, alongside fellow 'tech step' luminaries Matrix, Trace, RymeTyme and later Bad Company and Cause 4 Concern, layed down the Virus template on timeless tracks such as 'Gasmask', 'Watermelon' and 'Medicine', as well as LPs 'Wormhole' and 'Sleepwalk', and within just a couple of years had a seismic influence on the sound of Drum & Bass.
* Ed Rush & Optical join forces once again to bring you their 7th LP release entitled 'No Cure'. Representing the next step in both their journeys, the album sets the stage for Virus Recordings for both this year and the future. With dynamism, funk and an overarching sense of groove, the record plays to the strengths of both producers, creating something which is more than the sum of its parts. Take a trip into the darkside, with the experience and talent of Ed Rush & Optical as your guides.
* The album begins with tracks like the stalking, shimmering title cut, which features vocals from MC Rymetyme. The
pace is picked up with choices such as Eternity and Falling Down Stairs, which show that Ed Rush & Optical, both with over 25 years in the game, are still repositories of new, fresh and invigorating ideas. Overall the LP explores themes from the beginning of the duo's careers brought into the sharp focus that modern music now has without ever losing the funk and flavour that Virus has become synonomous with.
No Cure is next level, and will be many people's choice for album of the year.*

* Klute returns to Headz with the Savage Circle EP, a collection of varied tracks that sum up what Klute brings to the camp perfectly.
*Westernized
The EP kicks off with Westernized, a stepping track with a punchy mid range bass that carries that track through, its perfect 3am dancefloor material- eyes down and rolling.
*Mirror
Aggressive with lashing drums and gnarly bass, the breakdown is subtle and dream-like and leads you into a false sense of security before the heinous drop.
*Just What You're Feeling
The most introspective track on the EP but nonetheless still very dancefloor oriented, gliding bass with synth chords washing over proceedings, a fine way to wrap up the vinyl version of the release.
