Makoto returns to Apollo with the Primitive EP. As he builds his fast-paced style into a leaner, more aggressive manifestation of the soulful Makoto sound, it quickly becomes clear that no one genre or signifier can fully describe this new collection of five tracks, from the rampant tribal ideology of "Primitive" through the freestyle explorations of "Ritual."

Coming from the depths of Utrecht in The Netherlands, powerful trio Black Sun Empire are set to follow their Beatport topping fourth album 'From The Shadows' with new remix album 'Variations On Black'. Showcasing some of the most visceral and volatile drum and bass you will hear all year, the new album package is due for release on their eponymous record label, Blackout Music, on late November 18th.

Alongside a selection of special VIP versions from the group themselves, the album features a carefully curated selection of artists on remix duties that draws together a host of the most talented and respected names in electronic music. Artists such as Noisia, S.P.Y., Phace & Misanthrop, Icicle and Ultrerior Motive, amongst others, step up to the plate with fresh reimaginings of BSE tracks.

With a collection of 27 tracks, knockout blows come thick and fast as each artist takes on the challenge with aplomb. Noisia's rejig of 'Arrakis' pays extra attention to the dark side, fighting against the odds with its larger than life tones and jagged saw synth movements, Ulterior Motive's twist on 'Monologue' is crammed with perfectly tuned drumwork, and on 'Killing The Light', Icicle bites into a Halloween-esque, jump up style movement with sniper-like precision. One of the biggest tracks from Famous Lost Words is given a moody half-step treatment from Autonomic pioneer Kid Drama. Pitching down Robert Manos's lush vocals Drama wraps them up in endless arpeggios and heavily reverbed percussion to create a trancy head-nodder of a remix.

New Med School signing Anile applies his trademark seriousness to an already stony-faced track, ditching the original's broken beats and kitting it out in dancefloor regalia. A swaying drum track supports oozing bass frequencies while echo-chamber pianos and guitar licks skitter over the surface.

Albanese's compositions are airy and cinematic, blending classical music, electronics and psychedelia. Federico started studying piano and clarinet as a child before becoming fascinated by rock music. As a teenager he studied bass and became a self-taught guitarist and soon became one of the leading figures of Milan's underground scene, performing in several bands. Influenced by black music, folk, electronic, modern and contemporary classical music his skills as a composer soon emerged. In February 2014, Federico Albanese released his debut album entitled ""THE HOUSEBOAT AND THE MOON"" on Denovali Records. He recorded all of the piano parts with a 1969 German tape recorder, the Uher Royal Deluxe, which allowed him to catch all of the tiny hidden shades, the imperfections, the noises of the piano and its surrounding space. Federico melted this rarefied sound with electronics, live recordings, strings, and homemade instruments. The result was a combination of contrasts and colors with a variety of atmospheres that wonderfully represented Federico's musical universe. The idea to release an EP with reworks of songs from ""The Houseboat and the Moon"" took shape in Federico's mind already while he was recording the album. He was fascinated by the idea of re-exploring the pieces, to put them in a different context, to give them to artists he loves and to see what would emerge from this. The result is a striking compilation of four reworks by Albanese's fellow labelmates JOHN LEMKE, FRANZ KIRMANN of PIANO INTERRUPTED, SAFFRONKEIRA as well as by subliminal techno masterminds CASSEGRAIN, exploring a wide range of the spectrum of electronic music. ""Through Denovali I had the chance to discover lots of very good artists and producers, with whom I thought it would have been great to collaborate." Man of the moment Mako returns to Warm Communications with a cinematic 3 track 12 inch. 'Do You Feel The Same' is trademark Mako giving new meaning to the phrase rough & the smooth. For our final vinyl release of 2014, we selected two monster tracks that will delight fans of the audio juggernaut better known as Current Value. Maintainer clearly displays why this producer's sound design is so admired and well known. Hard pounding drums, memorable synth hooks and energetic rhythms make up this versatile dancefloor weapon. On the flip is the much anticipated Tremor. A perfect example of what is perhaps considered the apex of Tim Eliot's trademark sound, hard marching drums and metallic percussion coupled with obscure vibes and synthwork, are all part of this memorable anthem by CV.

Celebrating its 10th year in the Drum and Bass scene in 2014 with their 'Decade of Viper' festivities, Viper Recordings inexorable continues with its first release of 2015 from InsideInfo.
With his first release on Viper back in 2008 with 'Sneaker', InsideInfo has steadily built a reputation with his precise, unique sound and scientific production setting him apart from the rest. From classic hits such as 'Skyhook', 'Quattro', 'Honey Bee', and more recent work such as 'Mythos' and 'Metamorphosis', InsideInfo has become one of the most in-demand remixers recently. With remixes of classics such as 'Black Sun Empire's 'Deadhouse' and Usual Suspects 'Killa Bees' and his latest rework of Hybrid Minds' 'Meant To Be', it's little wonder that InsideInfo was entrusted to remix Bad Company's 'Torpedo' for a forthcoming Bad Company remix album.
Following up on his smash hit 'Metamorphosis' on Viper, InsideInfo now unleashes the juggernaut 'Mushroom', complimented by the expertly engineered 'The Plains'.

'Mushroom'
The latest banger in a long line from InsideInfo, 'Mushroom' sees the English producer breaking the mold once again. An unconventional tapestry of sound, 'Mushroom's' introduction draws the listener in, ready for one of the most ridiculous switch ups you'll hear this year. Stuttering into life, 'Mushroom' chugs forward, with sharp, stinging bass and relentless percussion. Expect to hear this
one in many a DJ set.

'The Plains'
On the flip, 'The Plains' see InsideInfo change the pace with the stunning 'The Plains'. After a cinematic, epic introduction typical of InsideInfo, 'The Plains' builds up in to a storming Neurofunk roller. Twisting and turning on every beat, the flip sees InsideInfo craft, an accomplished, futuristic roller. Featuring a grinding baseline hovering over intricate, complex drums, 'The Plains' is the
perfect flip to the stuttering sounds of 'Mushroom'.

The introductions are over; June Miller are back and there's no apology. They've reappeared having been stooped in solitary confinement; presenting a handful of cuts, only to prove that this was brutally productive and they've been working hard to follow up their last release.

Bare-knuckled and still swinging, this EP sees June Miller entering round three and raising the bar yet another level. The precursor to their forthcoming album, from 'The Promise Ring' to the resounding brass of 'Saus', it certainly sets a precedent.

Rolling out first is title-track 'Ups & Downs', showing the pair's ability to completely flip an emotive vocal sample onto its back. The way they use this sound component shows undiluted ingenuity, creating a totally different impact with every switch. It begins through a wave of static, with a break that slowly leads you up a drum-paved crescendo. Then it pounds, drops and pulls you up just as quickly, creating dynamics which merge to create an electronic masterpiece.

Coming up next is a record featuring Mefjus, a production freight-train who's been setting the competition alight in recent months. 'Saus' is no different, with June Miller intertwining a tightly compact composition which smashes your synapses on impact. Rattling through on tracks of unhinged percussion, prepare yourself for a musical excursion which will take you through the darkest depths of drum and bass. But what else could you expect, when the talents of June Miller and Mefjus are so effortlessly combined

Then we're introduced to 'Bad Brains'. There's no denying why this track has been used to intro so many sets over the past year. It winds up with an intimidating compactness, before springing you into chaos. Bludgeoning beats roll with each bar set and there's no escape from its driving onslaught. This track is instantly recognisable on first listen, alluding to June Miller's ever-growing profile.

And lastly, we have 'The Promise Ring'. Adding a sexier vibe to its predecessors, the producers have yet again showed there's a hidden depth to their musicality. Snapping, tapping and with a female vocal oozing between carefully layered constructs, it's a nod to their huge reel of ability. This last reaffirms that their debut album is sure to feature some of the most perfectly crafted, versatile music the Ram imprint has to offer.

Klute kicks 2015 off with a bang for Commercial Suicide with his first solo 12' outing in many moons.

2015 represents a landmark of 20 years since the release of Klute's first 12' on Certificate 18 records back in 1995. Be prepared for much more Klute this year

'To mark the occasion i've decided to release as much new music as I can throughout the year as singles or EP's as opposed to my traditional route of saving everything up for an album releases every couple of years. Proxima begins the launch of his debut album 'Alpha' with the release of 'Trapped', a lean halfstep monolith that ranks as one of his toughest and most minimal tracks so far, and which has been a deadly fixture in the arsenal of the scenes leading DJ's in recent months.

Released two weeks after Trapped, 'Alpha' follows on from a string of blistering singles for Tempa, which found the Dutch producer carving out a stark and synthetic vision of 140bpm club music.

Alpha gathers Proxima's most fully realised music to date - widescreen in sound but packing intense sound system force. Next to the tinny grind that's characterised some of dubstep's harder side in recent years, its tracks are rendered in full 3D, with percussion lines moving in snakelike coils around firestorm distortion, and icepick melodies that cut sharply into the foreground.

Its self-contained vision and frosty evocations of deep space recall the interstellar techno voyages of Detroit pioneers like Jeff Mills, Dopplereffekt and DJ Stringray. While its rhythmic intricacy and steely poise recall both Shogun Audio's wiry funk and the machine soul of dBridge and Exit Records.

* Seattle based Quadrant sets the bar high with his first Dispatch EP, entitled 'The Microsleep EP', otherwise known as
'MicrosleEP' for short.
* Collaborating with different artists on each track, a distinctive Quadrant signature groove strikes the lower frequencies
throughout the EP. With fellow collaborators Iris, Kid Hops, Cease, RoyGreen & Protone all bringing their own specialist
touches to the mix, the EP resembles a mixing flask from a meddling scientist; collating individual resources and
including all the intricate details and calculations to create a lethal strain at 170bpm and up!
* Quadrant, Kid Hops & Iris lead the EP with title track, "Microsleep", a dark insomniac that comfortably sweeps through
a 4am dancefloor without hesitation. Their very first collaboration on Dispatch LTD 'Convergence' receives the remix
treatment too, as DLR & Ant TC1 join forces to 'Re-Converge' on the original, masterfully tuning up the already malicious
hub and re-igniting the drums into a new more stepping, switched-up take on a superb original from Seattle's finest.
* Exclusively aired on BBC Radio 1Xtra, the momentous moans of "Genesis Wave" follow soon after, rolling ruthlessly
and re-fueling at every break, before a cascading helix of sub-low pressure carries ice cold "Warsaw" into battle. To
complete the EP, "Right Now" written alongside talented Austrian duo Roygreen & Protone delivers that final, lethal blow,
as arcane musical elements curiously harmonise, only to contrast spectacularly with a pulsating bassline drop that
almost blows the lids clean off the speakers.

* Setting the wheels in motion for his forthcoming 'Under Another Sky LP', Cern opens his 2nd studio album with three teaser tracks to wet your beak. An artist who never shies from experimentation, whilst consistently striking a chord deep down, Cern offers a sample of the damage, reflection and reconstruction that lies ahead.

* Starting things off with a track exclusively available for this album sampler, 'Tiamat' loosens the reigns and unleashes a storm that matures below the surface, retaining composure and clout all the while. Named after an ancient goddess that embodied primordial chaos, Cern engineers a perfect set opener with precision; low ends striking right at the chest. * As the dust clears in the aftermath of bedlam, the tempo relaxes somewhat as we are welcomed by 'What We Bring Upon Ourselves'. The orchestral introduction is profound, yet cautious and thought-provoking. Delicate strings and serene chords evoke a warm glow, enveloping vinyl crackles in a truly sublime musical interlude.

* This leads smoothly into the superbly layered 'Conway', which picks the pace back up, but teasing, in playful, almost tormenting fashion. Initially subtle and ultra-stripped, it quickly gathers momentum with menacing drive. Breathtaking amen flashes emerge sporadically, before retreating to minimal flickers; masterfully controlling the dance.

There's a certain art to reflipping previous clubhits and making them club suitable all over again. Mango is such a rare banger that has been elevated to a drum n bass cut for this release. Kisser compliments the A side destroyer with a more positive vibe on the B side.

Moody and atmospheric, good old days takes us back to the 1997 where things began to twist into something slightly more edgy. A Faint saxophone highlight the mix, adding an even more haunting edge to proceedings.

HLZ solo effort for XX010 is the slightly more aggressive cousin to Good Old Days, skittering drums and atmos play against the warping bass. A touch of warmth is given to the track with the female refrain, a great example of HLZ as a producer.

The pair take it right back to the classic jungle era with Makes Me Wonder. Classic breaks play against one in another in the form of edits, huge 808s and reese's underpin the drums as we are reminded why this was such a classic era!

Chris SU's remix of 'Captured In Time' is ridiculous! All the big guns have jumped on this and once again BCee does what he does best and that's run one of the best Liquid labels in the scene. Flip it over and you're treated to a Joe Syntax Remix of one of BCee's summer anthems 'Count The Stars'
