GoldFFinch's well received Model EP from 2012 gets a rework for 2013. On the A side Dutch house and techno legend, Dexter, turns Let Me See into a driving, analog beast. While on the flip fresh faced Finnish duo Femme En Fourrure take on the original title track, Model, and inject it with their signature gritty and sleazy sound. The remix 12' comes as a limited edition, hand-stamped vinyl only release. In stores August 19th.

nfest & Quasi are our guides on a tumultuous trip through a world of deftly chopped breakbeats, deep basslines and heavenly
atmospherics on their debut release for Subtle Audio. 'More Out Of Life' is a captivating journey in itself. Bright washes of sound
wrap around rolling Soul Pride breaks interspersed with snatches of Apache and Plastic Jam. A sustained bass purr cradles the other
elements but sometimes revs up to inject momentum. The mix calms and then enters a serene breakdown ... 'Ugh' ! The James
Brown-esque groan introduces a much more lively and intensely chopped apache section which soon gives way to a heavier 'Tighten
Up' rhythm and poignant, reverberated guitar plucks. The guitar progresses and combines with previously heard atmospheric
elements and processed Apache licks in what is a masterful arrangement of up and down, ebb and flow throughout.
'Does It Float' sees Infest slowing down the tempo - this one runs at around 160bpm, making it perfect material to spice up an
oldskool atmospheric style set. Bird twittering's and synth pads intro a beat that flits and flutters while an 808 bass booms steadily.
Guitar features again with some emotive strumming (recorded by Infest himself), giving way to some whispering female refrains. The
breakdown that follows is a thing of beauty. A looping guitar and a fresh pad sound are layered over the original 6-string motif and
when the breaks return it really sets it all off! Beautiful Drum & Bass.
Finally the duo deliver 'Azul'. This one features quite a fresh drum sound, not quite like what you'd normally associate with Drum &
Bass / Drumfunk but maybe what you'd associate with Radiohead or some other more 'traditional' band, seeing as the room
acoustics are quite evident on the drum hits. It's another piece delivered with much feeling - key loops and wistful pads evolve with
an ultra resonant sub bass to make this one a real tear jerker. The sound of subtlety No doubt!

Tom Withers aka Klute is unlike any other drum & bass producer in the scene today. From his entry into the music business fronting
the late 80's punk band The Stupids and his early jungle releases on legendary label Certificate 18, Klute has always set himself apart
from the pack never afraid to do things that little bit differently.

'I love music, I love to bathe in it. In fact I love to writhe about in it and rub it all over. So, in the 3 years since I last made a KLUTE LP
I've listened to everything and bought whatever I could get my hands on. From techno to rock n roll, soundtracks to hardcore punk,
electro house to psychedelic jazz. The lot. I go through bouts of just listening. I call them creative vacations and when you come back
you just have to write and that's exactly what I did. 27 tracks later I'd set my deadline to stop and the lengthy task of pairing things
down began. This is where we arrive at The Draft, my 7th album as Klute.

'Nite Link b/w Fair Search' can only be described as both eerie and vibrant simultaneously. 'Nite Link' on the Aside is a course stepper, bouncing along a reverbed vox arrangement. Very bright synths stream alongside a growling bass with even a slight wobble to it. 'Fair Search' steps up the bass synth to the upteeth degree, while the tune goes slightly techy and even haunting. Eva's vocal work gives it that unnerving feeling, something evocative to a lost sense of peace. Too deep perhaps That can't ever be the case for Prestige Music. Consider yourself warned; be on the lookout for these forthcoming bits pressed to a limited edition vinyl release by mid-September followed by digital availability shortly thereafter. * Become infected by the Organism next, a collaboration track featuring Subtension, with its silky intro and slow, steady build. Once you are locked into the signal, the track turns around and slams its claws deep into your throat. You'll be forced to move, forced to groove as Cern lays down a whopper of a bassline. Topped with some clinical drums and synths, this one will shake and storm any dancefloor. Truly monumental, not many other producers could get close to the power of this one.
* The third cut, Formless showcases the EP's progression. Another collaboration track, featuring Russia's wonder kid Receptor. A wide-open, organic sounding intro leads into a huge, cavernous and booming techno infused main section, dominated by some eerie background noises and explosive bass notes. A series of switching, electronic effects float over the top of the kicks and the snares. Mean, nasty, and scene setting for the rest of the journey.
* Finally, we turn to When The Time Comes. A mellower, contemplative approach comes with this track, A warm, progressive sound developing throughout. Urgent, insistent programming is at the root of this one, with a smooth melody riding along on top. The whole package is completed by a moveable bassline, which keeps things pinned together perfectly. When The Time Comes the last ever track written by the original Cern duo, Ollie and production partner Jon Beck. The track was left unfinished to date, and has been finished by Ollie especially for this release. It acts as a homage to the memory of Jon, who sadly passed away in 2008.
* Cern is not afraid to show that he can master a range of different styles, never being content to restrain himself to any one thing.

This November, Dispatch Recordings begins its next chapter as the highly anticipated 'Transit 2' compilation album is released. Label
manager Ant TC1 has assembled an exclusive selection of cuts from both the label's established artists and some extremely talented
choice newcomers. The sampler we're presenting here offers a taster of what you should expect from the full album.
Dispatch veteran Silent Witness kicks things off with 'Ballistix' - an astral adventure through the four elements with his varied musical
influences audible throughout the mix. The soothing vocals and electric flutters of the intro are abruptly succeeded by frantic low-end
rumbles and acid tinges, with crisp snares keeping the head nods in check. It's a stunning all-rounder and his first solo venture since
the superb single 'Magnetize / Run Time'. Upon our first listen to 'Ballistix' we knew we had to lead the entire album with this
incredible track.
For the flip, Czech-based phenomenon Hybris returns after the incredible 'Gravitron EP', released earlier this year. This time he's
joined by our recent label signings Quadrant & Iris plus their US counterpart, D-Struct. Collectively they've worked their magic on
'Graphene'; the anxious sirens issue a warning and contrast with the A-side; a dark, sinister feeling is imminent, developing as the
drums filter into high-powered existence. The result is a deviously constructed roller, with intense bass stabs and subtle robotic snarls
- it's stripped back, straight to the point and done ever so well.

On the flip we find London based Hydro alongside exciting Belgium newcomers M-Zine & Scepticz rolling out some minimal dancefloor funk. One for the deep heads! Clever drum programming, tight percussive elements and an abysmal sub makes this an impelling slice of drum & bass.

Just when you thought Gerwin's epic double A single release 'Lying Portraits' b/w
'Soul Truth' - alongside compadre Nuage and featuring the vocal talents of 2Shy -
couldn't get any better, IM:LTD hired two funk soul brothers to give these tracks a
well-deserved remix and it's not lying to say both of them spanked these remixes.

We often wonder how Zero T manages to find the time to perfect his music with so
little to do. It's no surprise the Irish producer slapped his own moody style into 'Lying
Portraits', as soaring synths and bouncy percussions have now turned this one into a
heavy roller, while still painting the picture of the original.

If anyone has more soul than the KFC Colonel himself, it's Brazilian boy Bungle,
and his crusty remix of 'Soul Truth' is even better than that fried chicken we love so
dearly. Taking the lethargic liquidity of the original and beefing it to a running
dancefloor hit. If the precursor was for relaxation, this is for indulgence.

demonstrates exactly why.
'Convergence' samples a recognisable little snippet
from one of our all-time favourite '60s drums: Jimmy
McGriff's 1968 classic 'The Worm'. The tight drum
loop leads things off with serious intention in what
becomes one of the darkest, deepest, most
rumbling D&B work-outs we've been smacked in the
face with for some time! The track's eerie intro
effortlessly drags you into the looming heavyweight
drop, and the expertly programmed arrangement
provides unrelenting energy throughout. The track
blew us away on first listen and was an instant no-
questions-asked signing for the label!
'Borealis' flips the script completely in comparison
to the A side, and is a much lighter themed affair
from this outstanding production trio. Expect a more
musical synth-led journey on this one, packed with
intricate drum shuffles and shifty bubbling b-lines
aplenty. This is D&B as we know it, at it's finest....

Following a run of four incendiary 12-inches on his own imprint that drew attention from right across the dance music community, UK producer and DJ Paul Woolford delivers Soul Music, his debut full-length album as Special Request - diving even deeper into the raw energy of UK pirate radio influences that informed his previous EPs. Using a studio built almost exclusively from vintage hardware and boosted by industrial-strength EQ and an FM transmitter, Woolford constructs what he refers to as "false memories" - broadcasting his material in order to sample and re-incorporate it in a myriad of different ways. The outcome of this unorthodox method is an album of considerable weight.

On the flip we find Ukraine based Nickbee remixing 'Ocean Phantom' by Dutch producer MAV. Originally a laid back atmospheric tune Nickbee cranks up the heat transforming the original in something dark, grimey and very well suited for a Citrus release. Excellent material right here!

* Camo & Krooked are back with their new album "Zeitgeist". Two years on and the follow up to "Cross The Line' truly encapsulates the sound of Camo & Krooked 2.0. Already seeing heavyweight DJ support from across the board, "Zeitgeist" is jam-packed with disco, French house and minimal influences, which are merged together with the signature Camo & Krooked sound to form an awe-inspiring 15-track package. Two Summer Hit-Tracks with Reggae-Vibes from the upcoming album "The Green Man (TGM) - Sound Power", which covers a variety of styles from soulful vocal tracks to dark stuff, from emotional soundscapes to minimal music. It's main focus is Drum & Bass, but also features different BPM's from 87 via 140 to 175..

"Word Sound Power" featuring the voice of Peter Bouncer (known from Shut Up & Dance - Ravin, I'm Ravin, UK Charts #2 or Congo Nattys "Jungist") was recorded for this track in DJ Freeze's studio and is coming ahead of the album on Basswerk 38 vinyl. This time Peter's vocals come together with modern Beats and spheric, dubby sounds in a Green Man style. The positive vibes of Peter's singing gave the track its name and were an initial spark for the creation of the whole album.

"Face the Father" with Demolition Man - singer of the legendary "Fire" Track (Urban Shakedown/Prizna/Labello Bianco). Its a fast dance track with deep ragga vocals and electronic sounds. It already received massive feedback from the crowds and was also used in a video about Basswerk parties @ Gebäude 9 @ www.youtube.com/basswerkrec.

Nic TVG avoids the Drum & Bass clichés and unearths a barrage of unheard breaks for the rhythmic template on this, his debut
album. He demonstrates a delicate touch in his manipulations of this material on the intro track 'A Mouse Among Monsters' and also
a maniacal tendency in the insanely chopped nature of 'Friday Nights With Heather' at the death of proceedings. In between, there
are many facets of Nic's repertoire to explore.
There is an unmistakable free-jazz theme running throughout this album and so, it is no surprise to see Nic pay tribute to the great
Charles Gayle and his on-stage alter ego 'Streets' on 'The Clown'. The track encapsulates the sad nature of Gayle's existence as a
homeless person in New York in the 70's and 80's but also his devious musical nature, evident in the way the rhythm steps in and ou
of its regular meter and switches between a number of different percussive palettes at a moments notice.
The free-jazz influence is to the fore again on 'Playing Drums As Pads' where the most unlikely and unwieldy drum-kit patterns are
pushed together and somehow made coherent and compelling. 'Lose The World On An Excuse' promises to remain a little more
regular initially but the pulsing kicks of the intro soon give way to a whirlwind of drums, pitching bass notes and off-key violins for
maybe the zaniest tune on the album!
'I'm Sorry I Puked On Your Dress' sounds like Jazz and Drum & Bass meeting Tchaikovsky's 'Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy'. You
could be listening to the future of ballet right here. Moving on, the title track 'Then I Disappear' is all intense drums, flitting bass
plucks and looping horns. The reversed keys introduced as the track progresses develop a more reflective air which leads nicely into
'Out Of No More' - probably the most introspective track on the album.
Perking things up is 'Sitting In The Crosswalk' which forsakes the jazz overtones to flex a more recognisable Drum & Bass influence
amid an uplifting autumnal ambience. The D&B strains are also much in evidence on 'Let Yourself Be Unknown'. Crunchy amens
cartwheel among stark, sustained atmospherics but eventually gave way to a wistful synth riff before the beats and bass broodily
return.'She Looks Like Marisa Tomei' is interesting for its title but also for the way the rhythms are occasionally ratcheted up a notch
from the steady kick and hi-hat interchanges by the injection of some rowdy funk drums. The low-end bass and stretched wind
instruments work particularly well together in this beautiful blend of breakbeat and blues. 'My Life As A Hairless Aardvark' might just
beat the stiff competition for best track title on the album. It also might just feature the most obtuse rhythm, which is saying
something! And so to the maniacal chopping of 'Friday Nights With Heather'... talk about going out with a bang ! ... and then, I
disappear.
