The 4 track 'EP' is taken from the forthcoming album 'This Is PiL' released on May 28th. Both the new EP and album is self-funded by PiL and will be released on PiL's own label 'PiL Official' via Cargo UK Distribution. All the new material was recorded in the UK last year at Steve Winwood's studio in the Cotswolds. PiL were recently confirmed as special guests at BBC Radio 6 birthday celebrations at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London March 16th where they will be performing live, including some new tracks. With their show at The Brighton Concorde on August 16th sold out, a second date has been added at the venue on August 15th. Lead track 'One Drop' from the EP of the same name was given an exclusive airing by Steve Lamacq on his BBC 6 show last week. John Lydon describes the track as- 'One Drop is a reflection of where I grew up in Finsbury Park , London . The area that shaped me, and influenced me culturally and musically, a place I will forever feel connected to. But within this I am also saying it doesn't matter where you come from, we all go through the same emotions especially the disenchanted youth of today, yesterday and the future. Bearing in mind the Olympics are in London this year and who knows what that could bring for London and our country....'

Yellow Machines' latest release brings us into futuristic sci-fi territory with four slabs of bass heavy electronics. Scanone's original track 'Andromeda' is pure science fiction electro, where thumping drums collide with hoovers and twisted emotive space melodies. Radioactive Man's remix cuts straight to the chase with a full on robotic electro bass workout with wonky undertones, guaranteed to smash the floor. ADJ's remix is stripped back, intelligent and heavy, with intricate glitch patterns denoting uality future music. Finally, Sync24's remix is a minimal, dark and menacing beast, demanding heads down in the crowd, and watch out for the sub.

Mindtrick Records proudly presents the first vinyl release by Semiomime (aka DJ Hidden/The Outside Agency). After his debut album which was released by Adnoiseam last year, Semiomime returns with two very special tracks.
The first track is Six Steps a mixture of cinematic sounds, signature beats and a swirling bassline which gets you right into his mood. The flipside is for D-Coherence a piano piece that changes into a deep banging acid trip. Very uncommon and therefore very interesting to listen to.

with - dazed', senking continues his exploration of the abysses of sound to create dark and gloomy atmospheres. the slow beats of the two tracks are accompanied by tender, harmonic melodies, but broken by nervous, unsteady tones which eem to be a warning against hidden dangers. the frst track - the dance hall walk' also features a vocal sample by micheal cramm - a text which refects the nervousness and excitement in anticipation of some thrilling things to come. like - tweek', senking's last ep, - dazed' is not only concerned with the depths of sound, but also with the depths of the human psyche, where there is no escape other than music itself.

The second bomb being dropped by Renegade Masters is a sweet grower that pays homage to peasants rights all over the world and the inevitable rise of the bullied poor. The A side track is a hiphop influenced reggae soiree which leans into the chanting sing-along excursion of early '90s pop with a laid back vocal from Soom T injected with intense dramatic inflections. Not a standard piece of reggae by any means, the smooth production by Australia's Combat Wombat Monkey Marc makes for a dance-able chiller providing the driving force needed to hold up Soom T's extreme voicings, as well as making an adequate vehicle for MCs to ride the riddim on the B Side version.

DEEP MEDi are very happy to announce the signing of a new member to the family. Swindle has been cutting his teeth on various labels such as Planet Mu and Butterz fusing his unique style of Grime, Funky & Dubstep, he has had some recent underground success with 'Ignition' feat. Footsie and Nadia Suliman on his own label Swindle Productions.Swindle came to the attention of the MEDi camp by fellow Anti Social member Silkie. Silkie & Swindle have been working closely in the studio recently, which inspired the recent collaboration on Butterz and earlier this year a mix they worked on for Mixmag.Swindle's 'Do the Jazz' EP unites Swindle's love of the Funk with his twisted rave sensibility and innovative production skills that make people unable not to shake a leg in the dance. 'Do The Jazz' has been getting support and radio play from the likes of Mistajam, Annie Mac & Toddla T, due to it's pure energy! Don't be fooled by the hypnotic jazz lick that lulls you into a false sense of security only for the ferocious bass line and piercing rave stabs to tear you limb from limb, pow! 'Under The Sun' continues where 'Do the Jazz' finished off, Swindle once again lures you in with his trademark funk fusion only for you to be caught off guard and slapped in the face by a rave synth that would put The Prodigy to shame followed by a keyboard lick straight out of Zapp's 'More Bounce To The Ounce'. Finally Swindle lets loose the much talked about 'If I Was A Super Hero' which sounds like a collision of Prince, George Clinton and Dr. Dre on a 140 tip, Slow, low, lean back, G-funk!

Cornelius Ferguson aka Traxman is from the west side of Chicago and one of the longest serving producers working in footwork with releases stretching back to the glory days of ghetto house on Dance Mania records in the nineties. He's also one of the co-founders of Chicago's two-decades-old Geto DJz clique and a member of DJ Rashad & DJ Spinn's Ghetto Teknitianz and was one of the creators of the legendary mixtapes on coloured cassettes which were the prototype for footwork's evolution. His unique brand of footwork is very strongly rooted in Chicago's history of soul, funk, house and ghetto trax; he's a veteran and renowned crate digger who has provided the sample sources for many of footwork's classic tracks over the years. His deep knowledge of music makes him one of the city's most versatile and skilled DJs and producers. Traxman's own productions are an incredibly well rounded suture between hip hop's natural funk and resourceful sample flipping, the hyper-kinetic innovation of footwork's stop-start, half-time-to-double-speed drum programming and a deep respect and understanding of Chicago's house music past that few producers can match; 'Da Mind Of Traxman' is a testament to this man's skills. 'Footworking On Air' starts the album in a relaxed and almost improvised mood with Kalimba melody, 303 acid line and martial drums. Then 'Itz Crack' puts strangely edited samples against echoey vocals and off kilter kicks to give the track a really unusual slip and slide feeling. Later, 'Let There Be Rockkkkk' takes an unusual sample source to build a track with a totally raucous rock vibe, whilst 'Rock You' simultaneously references house music's roots and a beautiful soul sample. '1988' is a tough 303 acid track with footwork drum patterns; 'Sound Filed' again tampers with house music's early rhythm tracks, bringing them up to date and speed with footwork's syncopations; while 'Work Me 2011' manages to fuse the soulfulness of deep house with the breathtaking energy of ghetto house and rave. Meanwhile, 'Lady Dro' makes good with some Mizell Brothers samples and loose congas, wrapping and looping them into a hypnotic vortex, while 'Setbacks' works a vocal and piano sample into tinkling abstraction. Traxman's skills are unmessable, you can tell from the minute the album starts that music is like breathing for him, and that the album also makes an incredible and skillful case for footwork as Chicago's very own sideways evolution through hip hop via house with a rich history of soul.

Coming off the back of a lengthy tour in the U.S, we are happy to announce that Trolley Snatcha is making his long-awaited return to the label for the first time since the 'One Trick Pony' EP. Opening up his account for 2012 with a lethal double pack, we promise that it is worth the wait.Delving straight in with 'Make My Whole World', a shuddering 808 intro gives a nod to his hip hop influences before flipping it on it's head with a juddering mid-range b-line and extra-terrestial synths. Up next, 'Nasty Shit' delivers exactly what it promises; sidechained pads and detuned synths set the scene for the neck-snappin' drum line and fierce bassline which create a ferocious jarring bounce. 'Giving Up' shifts the mood letting the diva vocals take centre stage as he crafts a stadium sized production around them while 'Flying Missiles' rounds off the vinyl, an intergalactic journey led by the electric sound palette and impeccable bass manipulation. For those that buy digital, the package comes with bonus track 'The Jungle' to sweeten the deal. Revealing yet another string to his bow, this Electro inspired track will no doubt surprise a few people. Constructing a tough 4×4 drum line that lays the foundations for the glitchy synths and swelling low end, it is a fittingly rude climax to his latest EP.Trolley Snatcha has long since proved he is a label stalwart delivering track after track of pure quality and this EP will serve to further cement his place amongst the all-star players in the scene. It is already looking like 2012 is going to be another great year for him...

'All Nite' EP is the young Mancunian Walton's second set on Hyperdub, after his very well received 'Walton EP' debut for the label in 2011. Title cut 'All Nite' kicks it off with warm plucked strings, diva moans and lazer-like synths stretched to the point of anticipation over cracking grime handclaps and bass drums, until the track drops into a blocky bass line playing hide and seek with low arpeggios that spiral in and out of the mix, over a giant pounding metallic kick drum before layering on the warmth again. The whole track plays with a fine balance between warm, disco-like lushness and exuberant roughness. 'Mallet' is driving and darker, building detuned, bell-like tones over a 4/4 beat accented by breaks and fills and gaps, dropping into a big bass line and syncopations that disrupt the beat and bring the drama. 'Kush' is different again, taking the pace down with low end, synth hip hop with glassy chords, running over woozy pitch shifting Rhodes chords fed through a layer of crackly gauze.

Wiley is the Lord Byron of rap. It's so obvious I'm not even going to explain it. Arguably one of the most important British musicians of the last ten years or more, this mass of every contradiction the human race can muster is also a stone-cold genius, albeit one who occasionally seems a trifle unhinged (don't they all Ask Byron...) Now the latest switchback move in a career defined by switchback moves is his return to Big Dada with his latest and arguably finest album.
'100% Publishing' is one hundred per cent written, produced, vocalled and recorded by Richard Cowie, the shadowy figure behind the Wiley persona. Well, 99.99% written, produced, vocalled and recorded by him. This being Wiley, having decided on the concept, he did sneak one guest vocalist onto the record (on the chorus to 'Talk About Life').

More used to dancefloor tear-out anthems than soundtracks for meditation , he delivers there a very deep record bringing back the memories of his uk garage background.

Still a relative newcomer, Tessela has had releases on Ireland's All City label back in early 2011 which pricked our ears. However, the rush of excitement when we first heard Darlene, Please was intense and unforgettable. With a racing, industrial sound palate, the Bristol born and Bath resident, has literally built this track from spare carboretta, dump valves and exhausts pipes, engineering a precision industrial mix of pushy house with cold, growling techno. This guy knows how to build a killer groove, keep you guessing and squeeze the most out of a sound.Let Up is a more understated, minimal offering. Focusing heavily in percussive detail, Tessela's skills flourishes within the added space, riveting more of his industrial pads and banging oil drums to a submarine sized bassline that will send torpedoes into your chest cavity. Fans of our friends Pearson Sound and Blawan will identify with this immediately, relishing the power and intricacy of the syncopated drums, machine-cut pads and found sounds that pull together to crate a whole that begs to be played loud to truly appreciate its full sonic detail. We are also very happy to be working with a brand new illustrator from Scotland. Verbals Picks is a exciting illustrator who has worked with a range of great brands and clients, establishing his clean, visually challenging dada-esque style as one of the most in demand creatives on the circuit. For this release, we felt that the sound conjured up images of classic pinball machines with their lively, iconic aural identity. So this illustration draws on pinballs' art heritage whilst being inspired by Tessela's industrial sound palate. For more info: www.verbalspicks.com
