A sinewy guitar, a throbbing bass, and a chorus of haunting females oohs... Eccentric Soul: The Deep City Label started with one unrelenting pleader of a track: Them Two's Am I A Good Man.' Since its 2006 re-release, Am I A Good Man' has appeared in dozens of films and television shows and has been sampled by the likes of Ghostface Killah and 50 Cent. Ten years later, this deep soul classic from Miami returns to its original format with it's long-vaulted B-side Love Has Taken Wings' on the reverse. Both songs were co-written by Clarence Blowfly' Reid and produced by Liberty City wunderkinds Johnny Pearsall and Willie Clarke.

At last! This one took literally years to piece together. Does Dennis Bovell need an introduction I think not but in case you don't know, he is a musical polymath, top flight producer, dub legend and one of the finest artists the UK has ever produced.
Optimo Music has worked with Dennis before when he went into Green Door studios and dubbed out Golden Teacher to the max. This Disco Plate EP was already in the works before then but various circumstances caused it to take until now to see the light of day.
In 1981 Dennis released his solo album, "Brain Damage". A double album that fused afro beat, funk, dub, jazz, blues and styles that have still to be genre-fied, it went over most people's heads and is now a mainly forgotten masterpiece.
From that album we present on the A side, the magnificent "Heaven", a disco dub afro-sound dance floor bomb that somehow manages to sound more current today than it did 35 years ago. Also included is a slightly edited version that removes some of the vocals to focus on the groove a little more.
On the AA side is the legendary "Escape Goat Dub". Back in 1981, Dennis Bovell was perhaps thee hot producer of the day. Epic Records put Dennis in the studio with singer songwriter Garland Jeffreys to work on his new album. It turned out Mr. Jeffreys was a big dub fan so most of the studio time was spent doing wild dub tracks instead of the singer song writer type tracks the label was anticipating. The wildest of those was "Escape Goat Dub" which must be up there in the greatest dubs ever to shake the world. The label was patently at a loss as to what to do with it so stuck it out as a promo only 12" in France, and there it lay forgotten. After a long search Twitch picked up a copy in Rennes a few years back and got permission from Mr. Bovell and Mr. Jeffreys to put it out again. It's not an expensive record or a mega rare record, just little known and definitely deserving to be heard by new ears. Epic dub abounds.
The AA2 is "Smouche", another track from "Brain Damage"; 3 minutes of dub, funk inflected Moogy summery joy.

2016 has been a stellar year for experimental hip hop luminary DJ Shadow, aka Josh Davis, with the release of his critically acclaimed studio album The Mountain Will Fall - his first release in five years - drawing praise from all corners, from the Guardian who called the record 'impressive in its inventiveness' to MOJO who claimed 'Shadow is back in the frame' and AV Club who hailed it as 'DJ Shadow's best work since his early-aughts heyday'.
For many, it is Shadow's 1996 debut album Endtroducing that they keep on going back to, widely regarded as a groundbreaking release that paved the way for experimental hip hop and changed the shape of electronic music from that point on. This year marks 20 years since that pivotal release, and to mark the occasion the San Francisco-based producer has announced a special deluxe CD/LP 20th Anniversary Endtrospective Edition featuring the original album, a collection of demos, alternate takes and live versions titled 'Excessive Ephemera' and 12 specially commissioned remixes from some of contemporary electronic music's leading lights including Hudson Mohawke, Clams Casino, Salva, Prince Paul, Bondax & Karma Kid and more.
The CD/LP package will include expanded liner notes from a new interview conducted by Eliot Wilder (author of the lauded 33 1/3 book on the album) and some never-before-published photographs by B+ and Phil Knott to create the 20th anniversary release as Deluxe 3CD and 6LP (3 x double LP) sets. The new remixes will also be issued as a standalone digital album.
Speaking about the anniversary edition, DJ Shadow commented, 'I've had to sort of concede that there is something about the record that took on a life of its own, that probably has very little to do with me. Nobody can plan these sorts of things. I think that everyone aspires to their music being loved and heard and appreciated on some level, but there are a lot of in tangibles, and there are a lot of things that even the original artists couldn't have planned or fully understood at the time. I feel that way about Endtroducing. And I think that's the main difference between Endtroducing and all the other records I've made—it was the first time and it was a kind of a flag in the ground, at least within my body of work.'
From the liner notes by Eliot Wilder:
When it was released in 20 years ago, Endtroducing sounded like nothing that had come before - an album of beats, beauty, and chaos. Looking back, no other popular record better summarizes the end of the 20th century. Josh Davis, alias DJ Shadow, took elements of hip-hop, funk, rock, ambient, and psychedelia, as well as found sounds, oddball spoken-word clips, and cut-out-bin nuggets - a trove of mostly forgotten or obscure recorded sounds - and then wrote the ultimate lesson.
It's an album that sits with you and lingers. It's an album you can return to and discover whole new areas you hadn't been aware of, like finding a room in your house you never knew was there. There is something about Endtroducing which often ranks high on critics' best albums-of-all-time lists that always brings me back to it. It never fails to deliver emotionally on so many levels. Despite its melancholic atmosphere, there is something uplifting at its core. 'If I were to find one word that resonates more than anything within Endtroducing, it would be 'hope,'' Josh has said.

Swiss timepieces are renowned for their precision, and they tick along nicely even under water. The mechanics, the cogs, the striking mechanism, the chronograph movements, the repeaters, the speed-up.... The fact that the cantons of this maximum-precision country should produce ultra-chilled SLO MO Dub like this, a style that has avid fans all over the world, is something we have DS & TH to thank for. The band are known for the formidable interior dynamism of their composition skills, their classic riddim craftsmanship, the psychedelic sound of their guitars, the pounding bass lines that approach infrasound levels, the space sounds and their grandiose sound dimensions. This is dub as dub can.
Like few other electronically influenced styles, over the years DUB has shown itself impervious and resistant to all manner of short-lived trends. Like Bud Spencer recently laconically stated in one of his rare interviews: "DUB makes the difference." There are probably few people who - regardless of which music ghetto they inhabit - have not encountered DUB at some point.
On the new album DEEP DIVE DUB the band dives deeper than Jaques Piccard's team during their record-breaking dive in Trieste in the sixties. The focus of this repetition is the fusion of reggae, even though, instead of the lightness that is usually inherent in reggae, the album focuses on heavy grooves, grooves that drift off into fat, dark, mature places. With a hypnotic power, the musicians - all of whom are trained jazz instrumentalists - dive into a world of Space-Rock-Dub-Electro. On a couple of the tracks the band invited the Lucerne-based experimental vocalist Bruno Amstad (who has previously worked with John Zorn and Phil Minton) to contribute.
Neither a slave to the great Jamaican heroes of the seventies nor lost in the great wide world of electronic dub - DS & TH tread their own path, reducing and abstracting as they dive deeper and deeper.
Irony is the sword of the disenfranchised... and so DUB SPENCER & TRANCE HILL will continue to roll on - like the film duo they borrowed their name from - over the sliders and knobs of the mixing desks of this world!

*Partial Records are proud to announce their 50th release!
*This one features the melodic and soulful vocals of El Indio - an ex-member of Reality Souljahs - who gives us a history lesson in true traditional roots and culture reggae style.
* This rides a cut of the same steppers rhythm featured on Danny Red's `False Preacher Man' (PRTL7033).
* Backed with a ruff and tuff dub version entitled `Royal Legacy Dub'.
* Produced by Liam McGurk and mixed by Dougie `Conscious Sounds'.
Next up on Nang we are pleased to bring a really positive 3 year association with West Country, UK based collective Situation to a fruitful crescendo. After 4 singles, numerous remixes and a couple of Beach Disco mixes we are extremely proud to present the sister release "Revisions" to the debut album from Situation "Visions". This vinyl release features the remix highlights of the Situation album and some brand new exclusive remixes to boot.
Situation is live, DJ and studio collective made up of the core members Ben Vacara, Mr Mulatto, Dom Thompson, James Payne & Paul Walker, with Vocalists Lauren Rimell & Andre Espeut(Defected & Fools gold records). The crew got together in 2008 through a shared love of house, disco, funk & soul music. Based in & around Stroud & Bristol in the UK, the crew released their first Edit based single on Disco Deviance with huge support from DJ's including Greg Wilson, who featured their edits on a Radio One essential mix & Resident Advisor mixes. Their Edit "Pushin' On" which was a rework of an Alice Russel/Quantic track got snapped up by Tru Thoughts & released as an official remix. They then formed their own "Situation" label in 2009 with a string of successful edits, establishing themselves strongly within the worldwide edit scene, which they still continue with. They have now gone on to write more & more original compositions (as well as edits) & so in 2012 formed their new label "Situationism" which concentrates on original compositions & compilations from themselves & other established & up & coming artists.
Proceedings open up with the big nu-disco grooves of "Get To Know Me" with UK based Hot Toddy on the remix. Driving bass guitar and bags of dance floor sass. Next is the hypnotic oscillating groove of "Barcelona" with Psychemagik working their synth big room groove. Keeping the remix groove high and UK based next up is Wolverhampton based Peza with his pulsating synth bass lines working themselves into "Standing Here Baby".
Next up on side B is some ubercool Nordic Russian beats with 5 Reasons on the melodic and sweeping remix of "Stay With Me". "Secret Situation" gets a big room dance re-rub from Pete Herbert next before South American Phunktastike takes on "Stay With Me" with big room aplomb. The grooves are bold, strong and incessant. Sportloto put their Russian spin on "Here Comes The Sun" adding layers of leftfield synth quirk to the jazzy guitar and lazy summer vocal.
Vampire Disco strip back the beats on "Standing Here Baby" turning in an offbeat twister. Next up UK based French man Jerry Bouthier teams up with Italian studio partner Andrea Gorgenio to deliver the pop house groove of "Like A Medicine". Bitter Suite turn in their remix of "Visions" with their 80s funk inspired Bitter Suite Re-rub.
"Good Life" receives a slo-mo synth strip down from Siberian based Acos Coolkas. Their trademark Rhodes and bleepy synth taking a centre stage appearance. To round things off "Work It Trough" gets an album closing stripped down night-time remix.
The Situation "Revisions" remixed version is also released with its sister album "Visions" which features the original versions of all these fine remixed tracks.

London's Tehbis and Touchy Subject land on Astrophonica with Magnet For Your Mind, a joint EP that represents the yin and yang of their creativity. Produced without overthinking, the EP's six tracks are split into distinct halves: one built for the dancefloor, the other for the headphones. 'We use a multitude of platforms to write our music,' says the pair, who have made quiet moves over the past five years with releases on Brownswood Recordings, Numbers, and Wot Not. 'Digital production, live instrumentation, samples, live vocals. Hopefully the result is music that people can relate to and vibe off.'
The A side caters to the dancefloor with three uptempo cuts. '1988' is the first production the pair finished together, a mellow slice of chopped ragga jungle built on booming 808s and floating arpeggiated melodies that dance around the beat. This is followed by 'Harrangutan', aka 'the piglet beat', a quick burst of adrenaline to your neck that channels the stripped-back aesthetics of the beat scene and its less-is-more approach. 'Kush' closes the dance with more ragga-tinged vibes but this time in a leaner dub stance, live bass playing off a shifting rhythm track and vocal samples rippling off a cavernous sonic interior.
Flip over to the B side for the soundtrack to the ride home after a night out. The cinematic 'Elephants In The Room' kicks it off with a bubbling groove, the rhythm switching between double and half time as sampled chants play against warm synthesizers and live bass. 'Magnet For Your Mind' is the pair's ode to classic downtempo hip-hop vibes with cheerful samples, warm keys and a stirring vocal from Yawning Young. The EP closes with 'He Who Knows' a slightly more energetic production with Yawning Young intoning 'my brother, he makes me feel alive' as the beat slides off into the distance.
Magnet For Your Mind EP is something a little different from Astrophonica, a representation of the label's desire to explore the varied possibilities of dance music and its modern ramifications.

Favorite Recordings presents this new official album reissue of The Parker Brothers: Maybe one of the best Blue-Eyed-Soul/Modern-Soul private-press albums you can imagine, surprisingly highly unknown and underrated.
Produced in 1981 by George P Grexa and released in a private-press version on his label Crown Vetch Enterprises, this album is filled with memorable material from the first note to the last, mixing Modern-Soul, Boogie, cross-over Jazz and Rock elements, for a result reminiscent of the WestCoast music' golden years, however being recorded in Pittsburgh.
As one of the longtime favorite collectable piece for Charles Maurice, it's a real honor and proud for Favorite Recordings, to finally officially reissue it from the original master tapes and for the first time on vinyl.

Party on!

A native of Richmond, Virginia, Billy Hawks was based in Philadelphia and worked with his trio up and down the Eastern seaboard. He was discovered playing in one of the area's many clubs and lounges and recorded his first album, The New Genius Of The Blues', for Prestige in 1966. Heavy Soul!', an organ-heavy mod R&B masterpiece, followed a year later. Produced by Cal Lampley at Rudy Van Gelder's studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, Heavy Soul!' included the latter-day London club favourite 'O'Baby (I Believe I'm Losing You)', the lead track on this latest release in our limited edition 7-inch EP range. Beautifully packaged in the classic London American style, the cover features the only known photographs of Billy, provided by his brother Leroy, a singer in his own right who recorded two rare 45s for Philly labels. Introduced to the UK's jazz scene by Baz Fe Jazz and Gilles Peterson in the mid-1980s, 'O'Baby' become a staple of the more discerning clubs, a clarion call to the dancefloor. Unfortunately, Billy died in the early 80s, a little too early to enjoy the album's rediscovery.

Washington, DC native Joe Quarterman had his first hit in 1973, an instant funk classic that was part of the capital city's red hot 70s funk scene. So Much Trouble On My Mind' is a party rocking anthem still being sampled and played over 40 years later. Fort Knox Five recently got Quarterman back in the studio to record a new song, the stripped down funk banger Don't Go.'
Over the past 13 years Fort Knox Five have been producing original funk music in Washington , DC , giving credit to DC legends like Joe Quarterman and Chuck Brown. Through the DC Funk Parade festival the two artists were linked up, a fusion years in the making. Having worked with legends like Afrika Bambaataa and others, Fort Knox Five are deeply honored to be working with Sir Joe Quarterman.
The result of this collaboration is a modern funk anthem that will put the glide in your stride, just as long as you Don't Go'! Quarterman drops in with a classic funk delivery, complete with James Brown vocal stylings. He really belts it out, saying This funk will set you free, this funk is as good as can be.' Sir Joe's upbeat flow is perfect for the dance floor sensibilities of Fort Knox Five, who incorporated their own live elements into the mix. Pulling out all the stops, FK5's own Steve Raskin is on live bass, Rob Myer drops some seriously funky wah-wah guitars and incorporates a full horn section, complete with DC's own Frank Mitchell, Jr. on saxophone.
Spanning time and generations of music, this tune captures the vibe of DC's classic funk sound and merges it with the future funk sensibilities of Fort Knox Five. Inspired by the DC Funk Parade, this song is being released to commemorate the third annual parade this year. A slice of DC through and through, combining styles and influences across the decades, Don't Go' is sure to get your hands clapping and your booty shaking!

The complete Motown masters of Rita Wright, better known as 1970s chartbuster Syreeta, including 18 previously unissued.
When issued on the Gordy label in early 1968, 'I Can't Give Back The Love I Feel For You' introduced the hitherto unknown Rita Wright, who had gravitated from being a member of Motown's office staff to the recipient of a dramatic Ashford/Simpson song and an even more spellbinding Holland-Dozier production, to which she brought an impassioned delivery that made the song her own. Despite its status as a favourite among connoisseurs, the record stiffed and Syreeta (to give Rita her real name) disappeared back into the company bullpen for several years, leaving those who had enjoyed her record wondering what had happened to her.
Syreeta recorded prolifically in the years between that single and her re-launch in 1972 as the protégée of Stevie Wonder, her husband. She cut stacks of demos for other Motown acts, including the song 'Love Child', recorded just a few days before the Supremes' version. She was also given several chances to record with notable producers, but nothing impressed the company's quality control department enough for a follow-up to be released. As you will hear, these tracks were not canned due to being in any way inferior to those issued by other Motown artists.
Syreeta may well have cut other tracks during the period covered by this CD but at the time of compilation these are the only 24 tracks mixed by Motown engineers at the time of recording, with the exception of 'Love My Lovin' Man' which was mixed in 2016. Her most successful post-1970 recordings have been kept in print on and off since their initial issue but The Rita Wright Years' offers the first overview of the period leading up to her 70s success.

John, Paul and George get soul with a little help from their friends.
Our recent Come Together: Black America Sings Lennon & McCartney' release was so well received that a second volume became a certainty. Here on Let It Be' we extend the remit by bringing in the Beatles' third great songwriter, George Harrison. Given that their prolific songwriting sprang from a shared appreciation of black American music of the 1950s and early 60s, it should surprise nobody that Lennon, McCartney and Harrison would come up with songs that would inspire black Americans to add them to their discographies.
It was not long after Beatlemania broke out all over the USA that their songs started to find their way into the catalogues of notable black American artists. By the middle of the 1960s soul and jazz performers were rushing to find the pick hits on new Beatles albums in the same way pop and rock acts had in the UK a year or two earlier.
The songs here span the Beatles' entire discography, from the Please Please Me' album to Let It Be', and features an agreeable blend of tracks that stick fairly close to the group's own visions and others for which the term radical interpretation might be an understatement. A few artists from Come Together' are welcomed back, as are a couple of songs, but in totally different treatments.
Highlights include Mary Wells' beguiling boss nova-styled 'Do You Want To Know A Secret', Aretha Franklin's first person singular romp through 'Eleanor Rigby', the Temptations giving 'Hey Jude' a boogie woogie groove and Bill Withers' sanctified essay on our title song.

Nigeria had a unique music scene which began spreading rapidly in the 1970s. The era was based on unspoiled use of fuzz pedal, keyboards and indisputable influences of the Psychedelic Blues bands of the West. In 1980 Effi Duke & The Love Family came out with their debut Mr. Love. It was released by Homzy Records which was a home of many Afro-Funk records, going strong from mid '70s toward '80s. Effi Duke & The Love Family being one of their most energetic albums. The '80s were definitely more into a jazzy sound with disco slowly infiltrating the African music scene. What's so unique about Mr. Love is Effi Duke's love for guitar based Jazz and together with African rhythms and funky bass, his album is a Funk/Jazz/Disco hybrid. He's an incredible guitarist and also at the time of this LP an ex-Wings member. They were one of the most popular bands from Nigeria. Effi Duke was a key part of the scene with being member of The Wings, The Visitors, The Apostles, he played also the guitars on Mary Afi Usuah's fantastic second LP African Woman (which will be also rereleased on PMG) and on many other great albums including the incredible Folk 77 album.

Feelin Alright is Frode Thingnæs first album. It is considered a Norwegian jazz masterpiece from 1974, a true holy grail amongst jazz collectors. It sells for high amounts online. It was originally released in small quantities with very limited distribution, mainly in Norway. Recorded in the 70's, combining funk, folk songs, jazz and soul, makes it an unique album that represents the contemporary 70's jazz scene in Norway.
This is the first official licensed re issue of the original album, exclusively through Preservation Records. We have found the original mastertapes in the national library vaults and the one and only Jan Erik Kongshaug have remastered it. He is considered oneof the grand masters of Sound engineering. Altogether, he has produced over 4,000 jazz records, and is particularly known for his recordings of some 700 recordings for ECM Records since the early 70's. A truly legend. He also plays at this session.

Moody and malevolent, male vocal popcorn burner from jazzy crooner Lew Conetta. On the flip, we've paired it with an alternate cut of bluesman Jimmy Rogers' super low-down 'What Have I Done', a track so similar to 'You Got Me Crazy' that it must have provided the inspiration (maybe 'inspiration' is a bit of a kind term, considering just how simialr, but both tracks are so good that we're feeling generous!)

One of the most original and influential singer-songwriters of all time, Prince has been an integral part of many people's lives with his music and controversial behaviour.
Originally released in 1987, Sign 'O' The Times' was the ninth studio album to be released by Prince. The album was widely hailed by critics as a return to form - and, as time passed, as Prince's pinnacle. It yielded hit singles in the title track (peaking at #10 in the UK), the rocking Sheena Easton duet "U Got the Look" (#11), and the poppy "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man" (#29).
This reissue will feature two 140g black 12' vinyl records.

Next up on Nang we are pleased to bring a really positive 3 year association with West Country, UK based collective Situation to a fruitful crescendo. After 4 singles, numerous remixes and a couple of Beach Disco mixes we are extremely proud to present the new album from Situation - "Visions".Situation is live, DJ and studio collective made up of the core members Ben Vacara, Mr Mulatto, Dom Thompson, James Payne & Paul Walker, with Vocalists Lauren Rimell & Andre Espeut (Defected & Fools Gold Records). The album opens up with the arppegiated synth groove and smooth vocals of Lauren Rimell in "Bring Your Love Back". Expansive synth the perfect tone setter for the album to come. Next up "Work Through It" gives us the first taste of the soulful vocals of Andre Espeut. His smooth tones sit effortlessly over the stomping grooves, house pianos and brass stabs.Situation first came to our attention when we heard their "Barcelona" track in 2012. We were blown away with its Balearic grooves and signed it as their debut single with us. This track is next on the track list sounding as fresh as ever.Get To Know" features a catchy vocal top-line, jazzy Rhodes and locked-on synth bass melded in perfect unison. "Here Comes The Sun" does exactly what it says on the tin with its sun drenched grooves, summertime Rhodes and lazy guitar. "Standing Here Baby" has Andre back on the soulful vocals this time over a walking synth bass and burbling synth swells. Title track "Visions" takes things on a housier, dancefloor excursion.Next up is a cover of the Inner City classic "Good Life". The Situation re-rub features the stabby synth of the original but adds layers of new dimension with its driving analog saw tooth bass synth and dancefloor sensibility. "Stay With Me" takes things on a jazzier detour whilst we lean towards the 80s with the big synth and snare fills of "Secret Situation Part 3". Things close off with the perfect closing nightcap of the evening vibe grooves and soaring vocals of Lauren Rimell. The Situation album also comes with its sister companion release "Revisions" which features the remix highlights of the album tracks and some brand new ones commissioned specially for the 2 X LP vinyl release.

With the release of fourth album Crown Posada, Smoove & Turrell cement their position as one of the UK's most exceptional soul acts with their innate ability to deliver hard times social commentary in a dancefloor friendly medium. Proudly working class as a band - this album celebrates love, life, politics and the lows and the highs of growing up and raising families in the North East of England.
Gritty and powerful, the band make no attempt to sound or look like anyone else - not for them the sharp suits and trumpet twirls of some of their peers. Instead you get a wildly talented and vital crew of larger than life Geordie lads taking their rightful place on the international soul scene having already become figureheads within the UK.

Large Pro and Southpaw Chop team up once again with a follow-up to their first collaboration Here We Go' on the 2010 "Never Stop Sampling" EP. The new release, due out in Fall 2016, features a remix by the man himself, Large Pro. Praised as of the great hip-hop producers of the Golden Era of Hip Hop, over the course of his career Large Pro has produced for hip hop legends such as Eric B. & Rakim, A Tribe Called Quest, Mobb Deep, and Nas, as well as his own group Main Source. The original version of Here We Go' appears on the B side, featuring Large Pro's tight flows over top of a classic production by Southpaw Chop, with big horn swells and a hard hitting break. The A side, showcases Large Pro's skills on production as well, with the 'Here We Go (Large Pro Remix)'. Large Pro shows a delicate sense of balance with precise sampling of guitar and horns, and a tight beat pulling the remix together. Both songs feature samples of RUN DMC's "Here We Go', with cuts and scratches by Southpaw Chop. Featuring two 'mad producer' representatives of Japan and the United States, this release brings back the vibe of the classic era, with a timeless display of production techniques and respect for the craft of Hip Hop. Large Pro and Southpaw Chop come correct with another classic release.

The Whole Truth follows up this year's Balearic disco hit 'Stalemate' with a return to his speciality: dubbed-out boogie with a soulful strut.
'Two Fools' features vocals from Earl 16, one of the UK's finest reggae singers. Though best known on these shores for his appearance on Leftfield's 'Release The Pressure', Earl has credits with Joe Gibbs, Augustus Pablo, and, err, Rudimental, among many others over his four decades in the business. One of the finest soul voices in the country, he gives this story of a treacherous lover a Motown-meets-Jamtown feel. Meanwhile The Whole Truth is straddling the Atlantic - one foot in New York and one in London - as he serves up another slab of analogue boogie perfection. There's an instrumental dub on the flip for the purists.
With BBC Radio 1 (Monki) and 6 Music (Nemone) both waking up to The Whole Truth's unique charms, these 7"s may not stick around long. You'd be a fool to wait around.

Trizz is a young rapper from Los Angeles/Inland Empire, California area who became an avid music aficionado at an early age, first picking up a microphone at the tender age of nine. As his writing skills developed, Trizz perfected his lyrical skill and began producing his own beats and mixtapes under the moniker "Young Trizz". His debut full-length EP, Young Trizz, demonstrated the journey of an independent artist looking to lead ahead of the pack.
2012 marked a new start for Trizz, when Sacramento Horrorcore legend Brotha Lynch Hung took notice to him via Twitter. Lynch went on to take Trizz under his wing, taking him out on two tours, the "Independent Powerhouse Tour" with Tech N9ne and the rest of Strange Music in 2013 and again in 2014 for the "Sicc of Da Industry Tour" even giving Trizz two writing credits on his album Mannibalector with the song "MDK" and "Bacon & Eggs (Skit)".
In 2013, Trizz linked up with another Sacramento MC, Chuuwee and together the duo released two projects, AmeriKKa's Most Blunted 1 & 2 which received positive reviews and coverage by esteemed sites such Complex, HipHopDX, Mass Appeal, Stereogum and 2DopeBoyz.
Coming off of headlining his very own tour, Reefer & Liters, and now at the tender age of 24, Trizz is set to take the industry by storm with his outlandish and distinctive new album, LeatherFace 2, which will be released on 9-9-2016 by Below System Records.
LeatherFace 2 revolves around Trizz's personal life and the surroundings that define his homeland of Southern California and it features appearances from Bizarre (D-12), Futuristic, Chuuwee, Twisted Insane, Sahtyre & Roc$tedy and is primarily produced by Trizz's long-time music partner AC3 Beats.

Mark 'Wilkinson' returns to the limelight with his sensational new cut Flatline' - the first single from his second album, which features long-term collaborator and chart-topping rapper Wretch 32. Wilkinson and Wretch first collaborated back in 2014 on Wretch's hit single 6 Words', and having stayed in touch since, have propelled themselves back into the limelight.
Now returning to the fore-front of the music scene, Wilkinson's latest single speaks volumes of UK talent, with lyricism discussing the power of potential, and the possessive nature of social media, and an ever-intelligent youth.
Speaking on the single Wilkinson states: I wanted to do something different with this record. I wanted to keep it on a drum and bass tip but work with an artist to bridge the DNB and hip hop scenes in an interesting and distinctly British fashion. I'm into REAL rappers and personally for me, the finest lyricist in the UK is Wretch. He's a rappers rapper! His punchlines and delivery are incredible and I'm really happy with how the record turned out!"
The high-octane track once again proves that Wilkinson is one of the front-runners in the Drum and Bass scene, and follows on from four Top 40 singles including his Top-ten smash single Afterglow', which saw worldwide success - selling 400,000 copies, with 46 Million Youtube views.
Now focusing on Flatline', Wilkinson teases us with an addictive and high-octane sound as he moves towards the release of his second album at the end of the year.

A truly fantastic record that sounds the way it looks - psychedelic rock, samba-funk and tripped out MPB.
Features 'Kabaluerê' as sampled by Marcelo D2 on his hit 'Qual e'. Arranged by Rogerio Duprat, featuring legendary guitarist Lanny Gordin. Antonio Carlos & Jocafi were a very successful and famous Brazilian writing duo, born in Bahia. They worked with the likes of Wilson Simonal, Rosinha De Valença, Trio Mocotó, Milton Banana, Toquinho and more. Originally released on RCA Brazil in 1971, this was the duo's debut LP. Two versions of the album cover exist in Brazil - this, the psyched-out, burnt out version, and a much less exciting photograph of the chaps, pressed to
include the single 'Desacato' which became a popular hit in Brazil and several European countries. Available on vinyl LP and CD. Original master, supplied by Sony/RCA. Artwork restored by Andy Edwards.

Back in Stock / Breakestra, one of the heaviest funk bands out there, are back with their second album! 14 steaming hot funk tracks, incl. the single "Family Rap" (feat. Soup and Chali2na of Jurassic 5 and Double K of People Under The Stairs).
Released on Stones Throw in 2001, The Live Mix part 2 put the Los Angeles-based live funk band Breakestra on the map. In 2005, their new album Hit the Floor (Ubiquity Records), a new single featuring members of Jurassic 5 and People Under The Stairs, and recent performances with GZA, Guru, Raekwon, Digable Planets and De La Soul (at New York's Summer Stage) will launch the band further into the public eye. While their debut album and legendary live shows predominantly paid homage to old school breaks n' beats gone by, Hit the Floor goes a step further as Breakestra create an album featuring all-original compositions and songs. The funk flavor is as strong as ever and Breakestra's main man Miles Tackett explains the transformation from a cover band into one flaunting their own material as the obvious next step.
Four years is a long time to wait for a second album, but judging by the size and enthusiasm of crowds at Breakestra shows or at their weekly hosted Rootdown party in LA their fan base continues to grow. And the global funk scene, which Breakestra are thoroughly entrenched in, now includes a distinguished list of bands like The Bamboos in Australia, The Dapkings in NYC, the New Master Sounds, Speedometer and Quantic Soul Orchestra in England and seems to be growing stronger by the day.
